When the Strong Get Tired/ Spiritual Exhaustion/Weariness

ministers, and anyone who has ever felt spiritually

tired while still trying to remain faithful,

because many spiritual falls do not begin with

rebellion. They begin when the fire slowly fades.

back to another episode of Pomoja Podcast. In

our previous episode... We addressed something

many believers silently experience. Physical

exhaustion. Fatigue. The pressure of constantly

moving, constantly serving, constantly working,

constantly carrying responsibilities, constantly

pouring into others, until the body and even

the mind become tired. And we discovered something

important. Exhaustion is not always harmless.

Sometimes, fatigue becomes a sophisticated weapon

of the enemy. Not necessarily through obvious

sin, but through constant pressure, constant

activity, constant busyness, constant distraction,

until the believer slowly loses time with God,

intimacy with God, discipline, discernment, and

spiritual sensitivity. And we establish something

clearly. Being tired is not a sin. Even Jesus

became physically exhausted. After teaching,

healing, serving multitudes, pouring into people,

Jesus entered the boat and fell asleep. But today,

I want to go deeper. Because physical exhaustion

is not the only exhaustion Christians experience.

There is another exhaustion, far more dangerous.

Spiritual weariness. And today, I want you to

listen carefully. Because this message touches

a reality almost every believer will face at

some point in their spiritual journey. Because

this message is not only about being spiritually

tired, it is about something deeper. The loss

of excitement. The fading of passion. the fading

of spiritual fire, the loss of freshness, the

danger of over familiarity. Because many believers

do not suddenly leave God, they drift, slowly,

quietly, subtly. And most of the time, the drift

begins when the excitement fades. The excitement

to pray, the excitement to worship, the excitement

to seek God, the excitement to congregate, the

excitement to hear His voice, the excitement

to serve Him. Everything starts beautifully.

When people first come to Christ, there is fire.

There is joy, passion, hunger, excitement. You

want to pray all the time, read the Bible all

the time, go to church all the time, talk about

Jesus all the time, be around believers all the

time. You feel alive spiritually, but then reality

appears. You start discovering that churches

are filled with imperfect people. You discover

weaknesses in believers, weaknesses in leaders,

weaknesses in ministers, frictions between brothers

and sisters, hidden sins, compromises, church

politics, character issues, disappointments,

betrayals, offenses, hypocrisy, and slowly the

excitement begins to fade. The passion weakens,

the fire weakens, the freshness weakens. And

this is where many believers become vulnerable,

because human beings naturally become weary quickly.

Human nature constantly searches for what feels

new, fresh, different, exciting. And when believers

lose excitement about God's kingdom, lose passion

for Christian life, lose spiritual freshness,

wandering begins. But there is something dangerous

many people do not realize. What looks exciting

on the other side is often a mirage. an illusion,

empty satisfaction, temporary pleasure, false

freedom. It promises fulfillment, but never satisfies

the soul. Instead, it produces pain, brokenness,

confusion, humiliation, bondage, disappointment,

division, spiritual emptiness, and eventually,

death. That is why the story of the Prodigal

Son is so powerful. The prodigal son believed

the grass was greener on the other side. He wanted

freedom, excitement, new experiences, distance

from the father's house. And for a moment, it

probably looked exciting until reality appeared.

The pleasure disappeared. The money disappeared.

The friends disappeared. The excitement disappeared.

And suddenly, he found himself empty, hungry,

broken, humiliated. lost. And one of the most

powerful parts of that story is the Father. Because

the Father waited for him. Why? Because he already

knew what existed on the other side. The Father

understood that eventually, illusion collapses.

And when the Son returned, the Father did not

interrogate him endlessly. Why? Because experience

itself had already taught the Son. His face already

revealed that he understood. That is why Jesus

came. That is why so many of his parables focus

on the lost. The lost sheep, the lost coin, the

prodigal son. Because Jesus understood the tendency

of humanity to drift, to wander, to search elsewhere,

to believe fulfillment exists away from God.

But Jesus came as the shepherd of lost sheep.

Not only for one sheep, but for the entire world.

And today, I speak this message not only through

scripture, but through experience. This is one

of the lessons God taught me personally through

life. And today, God placed on my heart the mission

to sound the alarm. To tell as many people as

possible, there is nothing on the other side

except deception and death. The enemy advertises

excitement while hiding destruction. He shows

pleasure while hiding bondage. He shows freedom

while hiding chains. He shows excitement while

hiding emptiness. And this is why Galatians 6

.9 is so powerful. Let us not grow weary in doing

good. Paul acknowledged something important.

Believers can grow weary, even in well doing,

not in evil doing, not in rebellion, in well

doing. Meaning, faithful Christians, serving

Christians, committed Christians, good believers,

can become weary spiritually. And this principle

exists in every area of life. Marriages fail

because of it. Businesses fail because of it.

Ministries fail because of it. Churches fail

because of it. Leaders fail because of it. Students

abandon dreams because of it. People quit purpose

because of it. Because one of the hardest things

in life is not starting something. It is maintaining

the fire, keeping the passion alive, keeping

the excitement alive, keeping the commitment

alive, keeping the freshness alive. And that

is why intentionality is necessary spiritually.

You must become intentional about your spiritual

fire, intentional about intimacy, intentional

about prayer. Intentional about worship. Intentional

about remaining sensitive to God. Because spiritual

fire does not maintain itself automatically.

The flower is beautiful today, then tomorrow

it fades. But creation itself teaches renewal.

Another flower blooms again. Fresh colors appear

again. Fresh beauty appears again. Spiritually,

God designed us the same way. We need renewal.

Daily renewal. Daily refreshing. Daily filling.

Daily alignment. That is why Jesus commanded

believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Because he understood human nature. He understood

weariness. He understood how easily human beings

become spiritually dry. And this is where many

believers make a dangerous mistake. They continue

serving publicly while neglecting private renewal.

Still preaching, still singing, still leading,

still functioning, still active externally. But

internally, the spirit is drying slowly. And

because gifts are still operating, They assume

everything is fine, not always, because God can

still use someone for his purpose while that

person is drifting internally. Sola still sat

on the throne after heaven rejected him. Samson

still looked strong before realizing that the

spirit of God had departed from him. And Samson

is one of the greatest examples of spiritual

weariness. People focus on Delilah, but before

Delilah, there was exhaustion. A man constantly

fighting battles, constantly carrying strength.

constantly under pressure, constantly confronting

enemies, and eventually, he looked for rest.

And because discernment weakened, he rested his

head in the wrong place. That is prophetic. Because

many believers today are not necessarily searching

for sin first, they are searching for relief,

comfort, rest, escape from pressure, silence

from emotional exhaustion. And the enemy, seeing

their weariness, carefully prepares the wrong

environment. the wrong relationships, the wrong

voices, the wrong place of rest, because the

enemy plays the long game. Not every attack is

immediate destruction. Some attacks are slow

erosion, slow drifting, slow disconnection, slow

spiritual numbness. Like the lost sheep in Luke

15, the sheep did not become lost instantly.

It wandered away, step by step, little by little.

And many believers today are not running away

from God aggressively. They are drifting slowly.

And one of the greatest causes of spiritual drifting

is over familiarity, getting too used to the

things of God. That is what destroyed the sons

of Eli. They stayed around holy things so long

that holiness stopped feeling holy. The presence

became common. The altar became common. The service

became common. The sacred became ordinary. And

over familiarity destroys reverence. not only

spiritually, even naturally. Overfamiliarity

destroys marriages, destroys respect, destroys

honor, destroys value. And spiritually, when

believers lose reverence, spiritual decay begins

quietly. So what is the solution? Intentionality.

Daily renewal. Daily pursuit of God. Daily surrender.

Daily intimacy. Daily protecting the fire. Seek

God intentionally. Pray intentionally. Protect

your atmosphere intentionally. Feed your spirit

intentionally because many believers feed their

soul constantly while starving their spirit entertainment

distractions opinions social media noise pressure

Meanwhile the spirit receives very little and

eventually the soul becomes stronger than the

spirit Feed your spirit more than your soul remain

around God's atmosphere remain around worship

remain around his word remain around his presence

And never become too familiar with God. Never

treat His presence casually. Never treat worship

casually. Never treat prayer casually. Never

treat the anointing casually. Because the fire

must be maintained intentionally. And maybe,

that is why God brought you to this episode today.

Not to condemn you, but to awaken you. To renew

you. To restore your fire. To restore your passion.

To restore your excitement for Him again. because

many spiritual falls do not begin with rebellion.

They begin when the fire slowly fades. So before

we close, let us pray. Father, in the name of

Jesus, I pray for every person listening to this

message today, every tired believer, every exhausted

servant, every discouraged Christian, every soul

silently drifting. Father, restore them. Restore

the fire. Restore the passion. Restore the excitement

for your presence again. Where prayer became

routine, bring intimacy again. Where worship

became performance, bring reverence again. Where

the spirit became dry, send fresh oil again.

Father, we reject spiritual complacency. We reject

over -familiarity with holy things. We reject

every slow drift away from your presence. Teach

us to protect the fire intentionally. Teach us

to seek you intentionally. Teach us to dwell

in your presence daily. Holy Spirit, renew our

strength, renew our hunger, renew our sensitivity,

renew our discernment. And for every person who

started wandering, for every prodigal son, for

every prodigal daughter, for every lost sheep,

Lord, bring them back home. Open their eyes before

destruction comes. Reveal every mirage of the

enemy. Reveal every false excitement. Reveal

every hidden trap. And Father, Let this generation

fall in love with you again, not with religion,

not with appearances, not with performance, but

with your presence, because at the end of everything,

nothing satisfies the soul like you. In Jesus'

name, Amen. And remember this, protect your fire,

protect your intimacy with God, protect your

sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, because the enemy

does not always attack immediately. Sometimes,

he waits for the fire to fade. Do not drift.

Renew yourself daily. Seek God intentionally

and remain close to His presence. Thank you for
