What has captured my attention is not Hollywood

alone, but short form entertainment movies, reels,

clips, and stories spread across Facebook and

social media. These formats attract millions,

not merely to entertain, but to shape thinking,

normalize behavior, and influence desire. This

influence is not neutral. For the enemy, it is

one of the most effective weapons, not through

open rebellion. But through innocent consumption,

Christians rarely sit down intending to sin.

They sit down intending to relax, distract, or

escape. And that is where the seed is planted.

The devil rarely begins with action. He begins

with imagination. What is repeatedly watched

becomes mentally rehearsed. What is mentally

rehearsed becomes emotionally acceptable. What

becomes acceptable eventually becomes actionable.

Many people say, I never thought I would do this,

but the truth is they thought about it long before

they did it. When trouble enters a marriage,

a couple, or someone's life, the mind does not

invent new ideas. It reaches for stored images,

learned scripts, and normalized behaviors already

planted through media. Sen is not ugly at the

door. It is designed to taste good at the moment

of trial. It appeals to carnal desire emotional

relief instant, satisfaction like a perfectly

crafted burger for someone living with diabetes,

or obesity. It tastes good, but it destroys silently.

The enemy does not care how sweet it feels today

as long as it corrupts tomorrow. Through cinema

and media, Non -biblical norms are planted, ungodly

lifestyles are romanticized. Sin is defended

as freedom. Conviction is mocked as judgment.

The tragedy is this. Christians begin defending

what scripture condemns. Not because they studied

the word, but because they absorb the screen.

Media disciples faster than pulpits when believers

stop guarding their eyes. There is a lie many

believe. It is not what comes in that destroys

you. But Jesus was clear. What comes out of a

person reveals what was first allowed in. You

cannot sow rebellion and reap obedience. You

cannot sow distraction and reap discernment.

The real issue is not Hollywood. It is discernment.

You choose what you let in, and what you let

in will shape. Your thoughts, your reactions,

your values, your decisions, eventually it will

shape your destiny. Guarding your eyes is not

legalism. It is spiritual survival. Entertainment

is never just entertainment. It is discipleship

in disguise. If you do not intentionally choose

what enters you, something else will choose for

you. And whatever shapes you will eventually

speak through you, lead you, and if unchecked,

destroy you. That is why when opportunity comes,

sin feels familiar rather than shocking.
