  1. Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth. Keep watch

  2. over the door of my lips. Today I surrender my

  3. mouth to you, my words, my reactions, my conversations,

  4. my responses. Your word teaches me that a small

  5. spark can set an entire forest on fire. So, God,

  6. do not allow my words to burn what you have called

  7. me to build. When I am angry, teach me to pause.

  8. When I am offended, Teach me restraint. When

  9. I am misunderstood, give me wisdom. When pride

  10. tells me to defend myself, teach me to seek your

  11. direction before I respond. When I have the perfect

  12. answer to an insult, remind me that winning an

  13. argument may cost me something more valuable

  14. than the argument itself. When I possess information

  15. that could hurt someone, Teach me how to carry

  16. it with integrity. Protect me from gossip. Protect

  17. me from unnecessary arguments. Protect me from

  18. speaking out of temporary emotions and creating

  19. permanent consequences. God, sometimes the problem

  20. is deeper than my mouth. Your word teaches that

  21. the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.

  22. So today I ask you, refine my heart. If anger

  23. is producing my words, heal the anger. If pride

  24. is producing my words, humble me. If bitterness

  25. is producing my words, heal the wound. If jealousy

  26. is producing my words, purify my heart. If insecurity

  27. is producing my words, remind me who I am in

  28. you. If offense is producing destructive words,

  29. teach me forgiveness. God do not simply change

  30. what I say. Change the source from which my words

  31. are coming. Holy Spirit, govern my tongue. Teach

  32. me when to speak. Teach me when to wait. Teach

  33. me when to walk away. Teach me when silence is

  34. wisdom. Give me the discipline to understand

  35. that not everything I know needs to be repeated.

  36. Not everything true needs to be said immediately.

  37. Not every accusation requires my response. Not

  38. every disagreement requires a battle. Not every

  39. provocation deserves access to my voice. Sometimes

  40. silence is not weakness. Sometimes silence is

  41. discipline. But God, when truth must be spoken,

  42. give me courage. When someone needs encouragement,

  43. use my voice. When someone has fallen, give me

  44. words that restore. When my family needs affirmation,

  45. let me speak life. When someone needs correction,

  46. help me correct without humiliating. When someone

  47. walking through fire needs hope, let my voice

  48. remind them. You are not alone. God, I do not

  49. want you to silence my voice. I want you to sanctify

  50. it. Before you increase my influence, refine

  51. my words. Before you increase my authority, refine

  52. my reactions. Before you give me a greater platform,

  53. Refine my motives. Before you give me a bigger

  54. microphone, prepare the person who will speak

  55. through it. Because my family is too valuable.

  56. My relationships are too valuable. My testimony

  57. is too valuable. My calling is too valuable.

  58. My vision is too valuable. My purpose is too

  59. valuable to be damaged by an uncontrolled tongue.

  60. Therefore, today, I declare My mouth will not

  61. destroy what my prayers have been asking God

  62. to build Temporary anger will not receive permanent

  63. vocabulary Offense will not govern my words Pride

  64. will not govern my words Bitterness will not

  65. govern my words Fear will not govern my words

  66. The Holy Spirit will govern my words I declare

  67. that my voice will become an instrument of healing

  68. My words will encourage My words will restore.

  69. My words will bless. My words will speak truth

  70. with wisdom. My words will carry grace. And when

  71. wisdom requires silence, I will have the discipline

  72. to remain silent. God, set a guard over my mouth.

  73. Keep watch over the door of my lips. Refine my

  74. heart. Discipline my reactions. Sanctify my words

  75. and prepare my voice for your purpose. I declare

  76. that the same fire refining my character will

  77. refine my mouth. I will not use my words to destroy

  78. what God has called me to protect. I will not

  79. sacrifice purpose because of one uncontrolled

  80. moment. My voice belongs to God. My mouth belongs

  81. to God. My words belong to God. And by the help

  82. of the Holy Spirit, I will speak. like someone

  83. who understands what I am carrying. I am being

  84. refined for a purpose. In the name of Jesus Christ,

  85. amen. You are not alone.
