-
a prayer for the valley lord you are my shepherd
-
and because you are my shepherd i will not be
-
abandoned i will not be forgotten and i will
-
not lack what i need to fulfill your purpose
-
for my life when my soul is tired lead me beside
-
still waters when my mind is overwhelmed restore
-
my soul when i cannot see the road ahead lead
-
me in the right path god I confess that this
-
season has not been easy. I have walked through
-
places I never expected to walk through. I have
-
faced uncertainty. I have faced disappointment.
-
I have faced battles I could not fight in my
-
own strength. But your word says, even though
-
I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
-
I will fear no evil, for you are with me. So
-
today, I declare, I am walking through this valley.
-
This valley is not my destination. This darkness
-
is not my permanent address. This difficult chapter
-
is not the conclusion of my story. Because you
-
are with me. When I cannot see you, you are with
-
me. When I cannot understand what you are doing,
-
you are with me. When I am exhausted from waiting,
-
you are with me. Your rod protects me. Your staff
-
guides me. And even in the presence of what has
-
fought against me, you are preparing a table
-
before me. God, anoint my head again. Restore
-
my strength. Restore my peace. Restore my confidence.
-
Let my cup overflow again. And when this valley
-
is behind me, let my life testify that surely
-
goodness and mercy followed me even through the
-
darkest season. I will not surrender in the valley.
-
I will not build my home in the valley. I will
-
keep walking because my shepherd is with me.
-
and I believe that you are leading me somewhere,
-
from the valley, to still waters, from exhaustion,
-
to restoration, from uncertainty, to your purpose.
-
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
-
the days of my life, and I will dwell in the
-
presence of the Lord forever. In Jesus' name,
-
amen. If you are walking through a difficult
-
season today, remember this, the valley is something
-
you walk through, not somewhere you remain. Your
-
shepherd is still with you. You are not alone.
