FaithAct: Have Confidence and Follow

Sharing good news of great joy to all people.

Elation Church. Hope you had a good week. Hope

you had a good week, and I hope through this

series you've learned a lot. How many of you

have learned something or seen something that

you've never seen before, right? This has been

such a great series, especially last week. Like,

I never viewed that parable that way before,

and it was just like, wow, that was incredible.

Dad and I got so excited. We're like, wow, this

is so good. And I've listened back to the podcast,

and I hope you listen back to it too, right?

Sometimes you need something more than once to

understand it. You have to feed on it. You have

to meditate on it, right, for it to get into

your soul and get into your spirit, change your

life. We're talking about faith. Everybody say

faith. Everybody say action. Action. We're talking

about faith and the actions associated with it.

A living faith, not a dead faith. A living faith,

what, is an active faith. It's an active faith.

It's not passive. It doesn't just sit around

and just wait and say, okay, God, you'll do what

you're going to do whether I pray about you doing

it or not. Sometimes we treat God that way anyways.

But it's a living faith. It's an active faith.

And the people in the Bible, what we read. Over

and over and all these stories, right? It's not

people that didn't do anything for God. No, it's

the people that did. It's the people that accomplished

what God told them that they would do. It's the

people that acted. It's the people that stood,

spoke, went, and did, gave, and reached out in

faith. Everybody say in faith. By faith. Through

faith. They saw the goodness and glory and power

of God on display. Amen? And our faith actions

demonstrate our faithfulness to God. Have you

ever thought about that? Our faith actions, the

things that we do, if we follow through what

he's asked us to do, it's really a demonstration

of our faithfulness to him. Are we faithful to

God, right? Most people, I heard this this week,

most people will live and die and never do the

first thing God called them to do. Most people

will live and die and never do the first thing

God called them to do. How sad, right? But it

does say wide is the road that leads to destruction.

Narrow is the road that leads to life, right?

I believe God, his will, right, is for that all

to come to repentance, right? But is that the

case? Are all going to repent? Are all going

to turn to God? No. So he's wooing, the Holy

Spirit is wooing his children. calling them to

repentance, but a lot of them will never do what

God originally said. He'll never do, and not

even willing to do. But then it kind of goes

beyond that too, right? Even as Christians, we've

believed in God. We've taken a hold of that.

But if God calls us to do something, what do

we do? We reason it out the way. We say, I'll

do it later. Right? I'll do that when it's convenient

for me or when I feel comfortable about it. I

like that one. Sometimes because God calls you

to do some things that are a little uncomfortable,

right? He calls you to go and pushes you in a

place where you go, well, that's not really my

character and that's not really who I want to

be or that would be embarrassing to me, God.

Don't put me, don't ask me to do that. And we'll

forget. A lot of times we just forget what God

originally called on our hearts to do. I've known

missionaries like that. God's called them to

be a missionary. They waited all that time and

they said, I'll do it when I'm older, when the

kids are out or when, you know, life is better.

But God placed that vision on their heart and

told them that's where they need to go. And then

they waited. Now, eventually. Eventually, he

turned around and went where God told him to

go. And did God use him? Yes, God used him. But

think about all that time lost, right? So it's

important not to only act, but to act quickly.

It's important to act and do what he tells us

to do. And we need to be quick doing it. A lot

of times we know the will of God, but are hopelessly

unfaithful to it. We're just unfaithful to him.

Someone who's always been there for us. Someone

who's always faithful to us. It's important.

A lot of times these phrases, you know, I know

I'm supposed to do blank, but I'm too busy. We

know we should forgive, right? It's a word. It's

a direct word from God. We know we should forgive,

but then should I? Should I do it though? But

you know, God, what they did. You know how that

made me feel. But should I forgive? Yeah, you

said that, but I just don't know. I don't know

if I can. I'm sorry. I'm going to get off now.

Moving forward. You told me to, but I don't feel

comfortable doing it. We need to be men, women,

boys, and girls faithful to God. We need to be

men and women faithful to him. And we need to

stand in our faith and act in our faith with

knowledge of what he says and his word comes

the responsibility to act on it. With that knowledge

comes the responsibility. What we know to do.

When we know what to do and don't do it, what

happens? What is that? The verse is clear. It's

here. It's in black and white. James 4, 17. Remember,

it is sin to know what you ought to do and then

not do it. This is serious business. It's not

just simply, oh, well, I didn't do it this time,

but I'll do it next time, right? No, we need

to be very careful when God tells us something.

We need to be quick to act on it. Because when

we don't act, when we just let it pass by, Sin.

What sin is to you is inseparable from what you

know. That's why it's important not to judge

the people around you because you don't know

what they know. You don't know the direct word

that's been spoken to them. Okay? And sin is

a violation of the knowledge of what you know.

God knows what you know. Being honest about what

you see and know is a part of being humble. It's

part of being a humble person. And then that

kind of brings me to pride, right? We talked

about pride the other week. What is pride ultimately

is that I know better. God, I know better. When

I choose not to do, it's like, okay, God, you

say this, but I'm going to do it my way. Maybe

I'll accomplish it through my own self. It's

a falseness. It's a deception. It's a phoniness

of who you really are. Proverbs 18, 9, get this.

A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys

things. Who destroys things. That's why it's

important to act and just not be passive. It

literally destroys things. If we're not active

in love, we will... lose the love of others,

right? If I don't actively love my wife and I'm

not actively doing those things, what happens,

right? That can be taken away. If I'm lazy in

my action even, it actually is more destructive

to me and to everyone around me. So purposely

not acting on a word from God, for one, is sin.

It grieves the spirit. hinders our relationship,

limits our usefulness in the kingdom of God,

and then ultimately destroys us and the things

around us. Everybody say amen. This means yes,

you're agreeing, you're agreeing with what's

saying, you're contemplating it, you're not falling

asleep. Okay, good. So if we want to see the

promises and power of God in our lives, we must

act in faith, and we're going to run over real

quickly some just really good nuggets. Of scripture

that talk about faith. Ephesians 2 .8. Hold on.

Everybody sit up on the edge of your seat. We've

got to get going here. For by grace you have

been saved through faith. So it's by grace. It's

not my actions. But it's what God has done. Grace

is God's part. Grace is God's acts of kindness

and favor towards you and me. And the faith is

my part. He's calling me to put my part in. To

receive his promise. that he's given me. Just

because he's promised it to everyone in the room

doesn't mean that we're all going to receive

it, all right? So it's by faith that we receive

God's grace in salvation. Galatians 3 .11, that

no one is justified by the law in the sight of

God is evident, for the just shall live by faith.

2 Corinthians 5, 7, for we walk by faith, not

by sight, walking by faith. It's the sphere of

our existence, the thing that we travel in, that

we see in our world, and then everything around

us, we walk by faith, or at least we should.

Walk by faith, not based upon what we see or

the world around us. We walk by faith. 1 John

5, 4, for every child of God defeats this evil

world. And we achieve this victory. Listen, we

achieve this victory through what? Our faith.

We achieve victory through our faith. Amen. Hebrews

11, 6. It is impossible to please God without

faith. Impossible to please God without faith.

So if we are saved through faith, we're called

to live by faith. If we can only experience victory

through faith, please God by our faith, it's

important. We need to be actively living by faith,

actively standing in faith each and every day,

standing in faith, actively increasing in our

faith, doing things that increase our faith.

We can't just sit around and say like, oh, I'm

going to be a person of faith and then, you know,

not do anything about it. No, we have this knowledge.

This is what we need to do. We need to increase

in our faith and be focused on it. And that's

why we talk about it a lot at Elation Church.

So let's look real quick. What is faith? Where

does it come from? How do we have it? How do

we live it? Romans 10, 17. So then faith comes

by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The

word of God here is divine utterance. It's divine

utterance. It's meaning spoken and written. Because

God has wrote this word in his book for us to

study, to be students of his word. We don't just

like do the things of God and not listen, really

study. You can't read the Bible just while you're

at church. You got to read it when you're at

home because it's a lot. There's a lot to hold

in there, okay? So you need to be doing this,

feeding on this. But we hear by the word and

also as we believe in God, the Holy Spirit moves

on the inside of us to speak to us. He wants

to speak to you in a real way. A lot of people,

we look at movies, we think of God speaking,

we're just like, hello, this is God. And we desire

that. We want to see these big things, but we've

got to know how to hear him. We've got to understand

what that means for a Christian. I've been asked

so many times, well, you say you hear from God.

Well, what does that look like? And a lot of

times it kind of scares me a little bit because

we believe that we hear from God at salvation,

calling us to repentance, but then yet we get

really distracted when we go, well, I've got

to hear from God about something else. That seems

foreign. But has not God called us into salvation?

Did you not feel the woo of his spirit and that

urge and that still small voice, the Bible says,

at salvation? Did you not get that? And we responded

to it. So in our lives, it's the same thing.

God does not change. He's the same yesterday,

today, and forever. And when we want to hear

who he is and what he wants us to do in our day

-to -day lives, we're going to have to be sensitive.

In a place, in an environment, because you know

that usually happens where? At a church. It don't

have to happen at church, but that happens in

the environment of other believers gathered around

and under the same purpose in a room that is

what? Still and quiet. So why does it happen

there more than any other place? Because we're

in that place where we have focused our attention

on who he is. We're seeking his will. Our mind

is focused. Just our whole world at that moment

shut down, and we're just focused on hearing

the voice of the Lord. Proverbs 3, 5. I saw this

verse this week, and I saw it through this lens

of what we've been talking about, and it just

hit me. Listen to this. Trust in the Lord with

all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.

We're talking about that in children's church,

by the way. And then in verse six, it says, seek

his will in all you do. So simple. But what are

we supposed to do? We're supposed to trust, but

we're supposed to seek his will. A lot of people

just want to find it or to just be like laid

in their lap. Right. And just be like, oh, OK,

it's, you know, this big sign. Like if I could

just put up a big sign on God, what do you want

me to do today? And this is like, boom, here's

your sign. But no, he's saying for us to seek

his will in all you do. Does it say some of the

things that you do? Does it say just at certain

times when you give him? No, you have to seek

his will in everything, in all ways. That's why

it's important to pray always. That's when he

will show you. Which path to take. There's a

part in this that's our part. It's our part.

He's wanting to show us, but he's saying for

us to seek him. Seek his will. Get in that environment.

To see his life and to feel his presence urging

us and wooing us. That's why that verse says,

be still and know that I am God. Being still

is the environment for which the knowledge of

God comes. Most people will never take the time

to hear what God actually wants them to do in

the first place. Never take the time. You know,

you can't find time. It's a finite thing. Unless

you don't make time. Take time for it. It ain't

going to happen. If I have to clean out my car,

I can find a hundred billion other things that

I can do instead of cleaning out my car. But

if I want to clean my car, I'm going to wake

up, I'm going to be determined, and I'm going

to say, okay, today's the day. I'm going to do

it. I don't care what's going on. It's happening

today. And sometimes we have to be a little dogmatic

and a little bold and be like, today. I'm going

to choose to what? Follow God. I'm going to choose

to seek him, see what he wants me to do. I'm

going to choose, instead of watching whatever

and just feeling my heart, you know, whatever,

I'm going to choose to fill my mind, fill my

ears, fill my eyes with the will and the way

of God. And in that moment, I'm expecting God

to show me something. Most want to find his will,

not seek it. They think it's just going to fall

into their lap. And in order to hear in all you

do, you must make the time to listen. So the

first step of faith, I know that was a big intro

there, but to hear the divine utterance from

God. And Hebrews 11, 1. It tells us our next

step. Faith is the confidence that what we hope

for will actually happen. It gives us assurance

about things we cannot see. Hope, again, is not

hope, so hope. It's a confident expectation that

we will see the goodness and promises of God

fulfilled in our life. Amen? So the second step

of faith is wholeheartedly believing and having

confidence that what God said he's willing and

faithful to accomplish and will do in my life.

James 2, 26, faith without works is dead. So

the third step of faith is acting in obedience.

And if we want to see the power of God on display,

we must connect to the source. Jesus said, he

is the vine, I am the branch. If the branch is

not connected to the vine, what happens? It shrivels

up, it dies, it has no power, has no life, will

bear no fruit. It will not bear a flower, right?

So that's what it's saying here. If we're not

connected to him, we will not see those things

flourish in our life. A faith that does nothing

is worth nothing. So faith is gained by hearing,

it's held by believing, and lived by acting.

That's why this series is entitled Faith Act.

Mark 11, 26, Then Jesus said to his disciples,

To his disciples, listen, why was it important

for him to say it to his disciples? Have faith

in God. Have faith in God. Don't have faith in

everything around. Don't have faith in what you

see. Have faith in God. Have faith in God. So

what is a disciple? What is a disciple? The Greek

word here is one who follows another's teaching.

It's a pupil. It's a pupil. Simon Peter, today

we're looking at Simon Peter and the miraculous

catch a fish, okay? It's when Jesus' first disciples,

that's the story we're going to look at. And

I want to encourage you. I know this is something

that we hear a lot about at church. I'm sure

you've heard a lot of fabulous sermons on this

message. Today, we're looking at it through this

lens of why God chose Simon. Did he just walk

down the beach one day and slap him on the back

of the head and say, hey, follow me? I choose

you. Come follow me. That'd be kind of weird,

right? Most people, he'd hit you and he'd be

like, what? Who are you? Why? No, so why did

Jesus choose Simon Peter? How did Simon become

a disciple? Let's read. If you have your Bibles,

you can turn. I also have it on the screen. Luke

5, 1 through 11 is where it is found. Let's listen.

One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of

the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on

him to listen to the word of God. Great crowds

came. Great crowds followed Jesus wherever he

went. It got to the point where it even became

a problem too. Like things were happening, they

couldn't fit him everywhere. Jesus is preaching

on the shore that day and he's gradually getting

backed up to the sea. and they just keep coming

over the mountainside or wherever, and they're

just moving in on him, and now he's backed up.

There's a lot of people, what, listening to the

word of God. A lot of people listen. We're real

good at, as Christians, we're real good at listening.

A lot of people listen. He noticed two empty

boats. Jesus noticed two empty boats at the water's

edge, for the fishermen had left them and were

washing their nets. See what happens. Verse 3,

stepping into one of the boats. So Jesus just

sees the boats. He steps into the boats. And

then Jesus does what? He asks Simon, its owner,

by the way. It wasn't just like some random boat.

No, he owned the boat. And he asked him to do

something, to push it out into the water. I always

think that's funny that Jesus stepped into the

boat and then asked. It's funny that that's written

like that. Anyways, we're not going to rabbit

trail on that too much. But anyways, it's funny

that Jesus asked the owner of the boat, the owner

of, and we're going to see that this is his business,

right? He's asking him. to do something here.

He's asking the owner of this boat to push it

out into the water. So he sat in the boat and

taught the crowds. Jesus sat in the boat and

taught the crowds from there. Now, in order for

Jesus, you know, to ask Simon, was Simon back

with the others washing the nets? No, he was

right there listening to Jesus. He was close

enough to be asked. And then Simon is now in

the boat, in his own boat. Out there, Jesus is

preaching from the boat. Thankfully, he's sitting,

or that would have been a different story. But

he's sitting in the boat. He's teaching the crowds.

That requires some effort. I don't know if you've

ever been in a boat with a paddle or something

like that. It's hard to keep it going forward

and facing, especially if someone's facing a

crowd. Because I don't know about Jesus, but

he's probably not just sitting, and it's just

spinning. But Simon probably had to put in a

little effort. It was definitely like taking

his time and his resources. And here Jesus is

asking him to give this. He had worked all night.

He was tired. Probably didn't want to do it.

But the first instruction here is give. Everybody

say give. Jesus asked him to give. Give of his

time. Give of what he had. Generosity. is a marker

of a disciple. What did Simon do? He did it.

He didn't ask questions. He didn't say, how long

is this going to be? That's what I would have

said. So how long, Jesus, are we going to be

out here? You know, give it like 30, 40 minutes.

Were you about wrapped up? Were you like going?

No, you know, tell me a time so I can get time.

You know, my guys are over here doing some things

and I got things to do. I got to get to bed.

I hadn't slept all night. I hadn't eaten, you

know, whatever. We know that they didn't catch

any fish, so it's not like they were having a

fish fry. So he was probably hungry, ready to

be done. But no, he says yes. Jesus asks, he

says yes, and he gives of his time and his resources.

And that's a disciple of a marker. There's three

types of giving. Everybody say three types. Three

types. There's a generous type of giving. And

generosity is how God wants his children to be.

People who live generously and are... or just

give generously out of what God has done, recognizing,

saying, hey, God has done this for me. I'm going

to be a blessing to the world around me, right?

But then there's also obligation, giving out

of obligation, right? Out of social, religious

pressures. How many of you have experienced something

like that before? Yeah, yeah, we've all been

there, right? So there's that thing where it's

like, well, maybe they give something, and so

I feel like I've got to give something. I really

don't want to, though. It's not really my want

to, but I just got to, I guess. And then the

third type is directed. It's directed. So God

wants us to be generous, generous in everything.

I'm not just talking about money here, by the

way. Okay? There's a lot more to this than money.

So if you're looking at me thinking about I'm

talking about money, I am. Maybe that's something

God's doing with you about, but I'm not talking

about money today. I hadn't said money. So if

that's something that's on your heart, that's

between you and him, not me. Okay? Clear. Directed.

God asked me. to do something. In a particular

instance, right? God asked me to give this or

do this for someone. It's a directed thing. So

directed giving is different from all the others,

but directed giving allows God to do something

that you wouldn't normally do, right? It's giving

direction to something and he's saying, hey,

I will do this. I want to do something through

you. I want to use you, right? But then it goes

beyond that. Usually when God tells you to give

something, he's really opening up a door to do

something for you. Now, we don't give to get.

That's not what I'm saying here. Because usually

what God asks you to do is not something that

is directly related to what you see in the here

and now, as we've seen in other stories if you've

been here through the series. It's not always

directly related to that. But God is doing something

in your future. He's asking you to do something

in your present that's going to impact your future.

Okay? Acts 20, 35, Jesus said this, it is more

blessed to give than to receive. Back to our

story. Verse 4. When he, Jesus, had finished

speaking, he says to Simon, now go out to where

it is deeper and let down your nets to catch

some fish. There's a lot to that when you look

at this, the way we've been looking at stories.

Now go out to where it is deeper, let down your

nets, catch some fish. The second instruction

here is go. Everybody say go. Now go out to where

it is deeper. God, he likes to call us to where

it is deeper. That's not really what this is

here. But just side note, he likes to call us

to places, like I said, that's a little uncomfortable.

This was not uncomfortable to Simon, for sure.

But he's just telling him to go. What does that

mean? Go somewhere. Do something. Just not be

here. We're going out. Third instruction here

is do. because he's asking him to let down your

nets to catch some fish. So he's saying go, and

he's saying do. He's already asked him to give.

Are we on track? And catch. I thought this was

interesting. The word catch here is agra. It

means a catching a fish or even a haul a fish.

It's not just some fish. It's catching. It's

like a bunch of fish. That's the way I would

say it in my southernese. I would say a bunch

of fish. So go out, throw your nets down, and

catch a bunch of fish. And this is where everything

happens. Luke 5, 1 through 11. Master, Simon

replied, we've worked hard all night, all last

night, and didn't catch a thing. Didn't catch

a thing. Simon here, he's the fisherman, right?

He's the one who does this for a living, has

guys employed, saying, you know, I'm doing this.

You know, you always catch fish at night, God.

We worked hard all last night, didn't catch a

thing. Not even one thing. So his business here

was not as good as what he was expecting, right?

This is a business. It's his business. It's his

livelihood, most likely. The people in the area

are not going to eat as much as they probably

should have, right? Because he didn't catch the

fish. The fish weren't there. We worked hard

all last night. And see, God here is wanting

to bless Simon with a financial miracle. For

one, he's asking him to give. I want you to see

this. I'm not going to sit on this. He's asking

him to give. And God is wanting to bless him

because we know the end of the story. God has

something in store. He's going to bless him with

this huge financial miracle that's about to happen.

But he's telling him to do. He's already asked

him to give, right? And then he's saying, what?

Go catch the fish. Have faith. Go catch. Have

faith. And they're standing on that word. The

reality is, though, is we worked hard. All last

night, didn't catch a thing. So God's wanting

him to say, I know what happened. I know what

you see, but I'm about to do something. And it

even tells him, he's like, you're going to catch

some fish. So it's not like he was going out

there and didn't have any direction or didn't

know what was about to happen. No, he knew. He

says, we worked hard all last night, didn't catch

a thing. And then this is where it could have

all fall apart. Right? This is where the enemy

wants to steal the promises of God. Listen, if

the enemy or if your head can make you believe.

And get in the way and say, oh, well, you know,

you've done this before. You don't need to do

this again. If he can stop you right here, he

can steal the promise of God, the promise, the

thing that God said that he was going to do for

you. If you don't see those things happening

in your life, it's because you haven't had faith.

And that's it. This is where the enemy wants

to steal. What can the enemy steal from you other

than rob you of the blessings of God on your

life? What power does he have unless he can convince

you to believe the lie that God, you know, he'll

do something a different way. That's not really

what he wants you to do. If the enemy can keep

you from fulfilling what God wants you to do

and acting in faith, he can steal every blessing

and every promise out of your life. If you let

your head or the enemy keep you focused on your

situation, Simon could have been like, well,

you know, we didn't catch anything. And I just,

I don't know what to do. I don't know what to

do. I don't know what to do. I don't know what

to do. More than what God had just said, he would

have missed it. Everybody say he would have missed

it. He would have missed it. And I really love

this. This little phrase. It says, but. What

a beautiful word. Negates everything that he

just said. There's a change here. But, in faith,

if you say so, I'll let the nets down again.

Simon said, this statement of faith, he's putting

his words in agreement with God's, just like

we can do as Christians, amen? He's saying, if

you say so, I will do what you said I will do.

If you say so. If you say so. If you said it,

I can count on it. I can have hope in it. I can

count on it. If you say so, I can stand on it.

If you say so, I can depend on it. I can go ahead

and get happy about things that haven't even

happened yet. If God said... I can have it. If

God said that I can do it, guess what? I can

take it to the bank. I know it's going to happen.

And I can act on it. God's not calling you to

act on something that he hasn't already told

you. You know what I'm saying? He's giving you

the thing to do. It's very simple. And like we

talked about child life faith, sometimes we just

got to be like, okay, I'll go do it. Don't have

to understand it. Just got to do it. Luke 5,

6. What happened? He goes, if you say it, I'll

do it. And at this time, their nets were so full

of fish, they begin to tear. Amen. So at this

time. What time are we talking about? At this

time, when the nets went in the water. Did it

happen before the nets went in the water? A lot

of us want the promise and something happened

before the nets go in the water. Before we do,

we want to see, right? Maybe we can see it with

our head before we see it in our life. That's

something different here. This is saying like,

at this time. As soon as they dropped it into

the water, he had to do the action that God told

him to do to see the promise of God fulfilled.

And what happened? The nets were so full of fish,

they began to tear. That's a lot of fish. I've

never, I've used nets before, but I've never

seen a net tear, like tear to the point where

like fish are coming out. It's crazy. And a shout

for help brought their partners in the other

boat. And soon both boats were filled with fish

to the verge of sinking. We look at this as fish.

No, this is a huge financial breakthrough. This

is a huge miracle that's taking place here today.

And it's so much that it's spilling over on everyone

around. It's like, come on, when they acted too,

what happened? Their nets were filled. When they

did it, everyone got some. God wants to bless

you. And don't worry, if you don't think that

he wants to bless you, it's not going to happen.

But God wants to bless you. But you got to be

faithful to do. Got to be faithful to do. Both

boats were full of fish on the verge of sinking.

It's incredible. It's an incredible miracle.

And then let's continue on. Verse 8. When Simon

Peter realized what had happened, he fell to

his knees before Jesus and said, O Lord, please

leave me. I'm such a sinful man. He was just

in awe of what had just happened. He couldn't,

you know, sound like he'd ever seen before. He

was awestruck by the number of fish they had

caught, as were the others with him. His partners,

James and John, James and John, sons of Zebedee,

were also amazed. So they're there too. And this

is later on, this is like God's core group. Peter,

James, and John. Here they are. Here's the point.

We look at this as some detached thing. No, but

here's the point. where they were chosen to be

God's disciples. Don't be afraid, Jesus replied

to Simon. From now on, you'll be fishing for

people. And as soon as they landed, they left

everything and followed Jesus. Amen. Was this

all up to God? Let's look at this story. Was

it all up to God? Or did he have to give? Did

he have to do, right? Did he have to go out into

the deep, right? And if Simon Peter never acted

in faith, would we be reading about him in the

Bible today? Would he be a disciple? God would

probably just kept going to someone else and

said, hey, will you do? Will you be? Will you

give? A lot of times we don't think about that,

but there's probably a lot of people that heard

the word. There was a great crowd that day listening.

There was a lot of people around Jesus listening

to the same words, listening to the same promises,

listening to the revelation of the kingdom of

God, but only a few got it. Only a few took hold

of it. And to the point where it didn't just

change a little bit, right? It didn't just impact

me. A little bit. No. It impacted them. It changed

their whole life. They left everything and followed
