  1. Sharing good news of great joy to all people.

  2. Elation Church. Today's our last week in our

  3. series that we've entitled, Hello, My Name is

  4. God. This is week number 13. And you might say,

  5. wow, are there 13 names of God? Well, in the

  6. study, I think there's like 15 or 16 names. Just

  7. some of them are very close together, and we

  8. looked at them on the same week. Like today,

  9. we're looking at three names. Out of the Bible,

  10. for God. But they kind of condense into the same

  11. name. And each week we've been talking about

  12. this. What's in a name? What are names all about

  13. anyway? Well, first of all, names can be about

  14. identity. Everybody say identity. Names signify

  15. identity. Now, when I was born, my parents didn't

  16. name me before we left the hospital. And when

  17. I wanted to play... football in the sixth grade.

  18. Actually, it was a seventh grade. Yeah. When

  19. I wanted to play football in the seventh grade,

  20. I had to get a South Carolina birth certificate.

  21. When that South Carolina birth certificate came

  22. in, it had no name Forrest on it because my parents

  23. didn't name me before we left the hospital. And

  24. you might say, no, I'm serious. My birth certificate,

  25. technically for the first 13 years of my existence,

  26. my name. My official name in the state of South

  27. Carolina was No Name Forrest. I mean, you can't

  28. even make this stuff up. I couldn't play the

  29. first two or three games because we had to get

  30. my name changed to the name that I've gone by

  31. my whole year, my whole life. Jeffrey Dean Forrest

  32. is my full name. I just go by Dean most of the

  33. time. I have another identity name, and that

  34. is Christian. It's not just something I do or

  35. something that I practice. It's who I am. It's

  36. my identity because I am in Christ and I'm a

  37. Christ follower. Names also signify relationship.

  38. Everybody say relationship. We all have relationship

  39. names, don't we? Now my mom, her relationship

  40. name to me was baby because I was the youngest

  41. of four. So it didn't matter how old I was. Even

  42. when I was 50 years old, when my mom would introduce

  43. me, she would introduce me as her baby first.

  44. Do we have any other youngest siblings? I was

  45. the youngest of four. My mom always said, this

  46. is my baby. And then sometimes she would say

  47. my name. Sometimes she wouldn't. But I was always

  48. a baby. Dad never called me baby. He called me

  49. son. When I got married to Gayna. I became a

  50. husband. That's a relationship name. She doesn't

  51. call me husband. That's not the way we talk to

  52. each other. Most times she calls me honey. Unless

  53. I've been bad. Unless I've said something to

  54. upset her, then she might not call me honey.

  55. I won't tell you what she calls me then. Really,

  56. she just calls me nothing. When Jeffrey was born,

  57. I became a father. But Jeffrey doesn't say, oh,

  58. father, can I have $20? No, he doesn't. He doesn't

  59. say that. He started out calling me Daddy, and

  60. I forgot what age it was. He just dropped the

  61. D -Y and just started calling me Dad. Those are

  62. all relationship names. I'm also an uncle, a

  63. cousin, all those things. Those are relationship

  64. names. Everybody say relationship. So names also

  65. signify activity. I've gone by some titles during

  66. my life, and I still go by some titles. that

  67. signify what I do, right? I've been a student.

  68. I'm still a student. I don't know if I'll ever

  69. finish out my PhD. I'm just slow writing papers

  70. and reading books. I'm a student. I was a cook

  71. in high school, cooked for Quincy's, cooked steaks

  72. on the grill. I've been a salesman for a lumberyard,

  73. a Nissan dealership. and I sold recording studio

  74. packages. I've been a sound man. I've actually

  75. got paid to run sound at events before. I was

  76. a custodian for a while at Disney when I got

  77. here. I was also a trainer and a coordinator

  78. there. Gannon and I, because we already had two

  79. jobs, we needed a third job when we were newly

  80. married, and we cleaned offices. Three nights

  81. a week, we would go clean offices after we got

  82. off of our other jobs. I actually bought a screen

  83. printing setup, and I was a screen printer. I

  84. was an A &R director, artist and repertoire at

  85. a record company, Southern Gospel Record Company.

  86. I've been the vice president. I actually became

  87. the vice president of Heart Look Records one

  88. day. The boss walked in and gave me a business

  89. card. It said, Dean Forrest, vice president.

  90. I wish I still had those cards. They're probably

  91. somewhere. I probably got a few of them. Here's

  92. the deal. I got a title, but I didn't get a race.

  93. So there was no difference in the normal pay

  94. or the vice president pay. I found that out.

  95. I've been the music director of state and national

  96. organizations. I've been an event planner. I've

  97. actually rented space in 10 different states.

  98. I've been a crusade director. Area -wide crusade,

  99. I directed three of those. I've been the president

  100. of non -profit corporations and the president

  101. of organizations. I've been the worship leader

  102. at some events. One day I was a worship leader

  103. at the Ryman Auditorium. Does anybody know what

  104. the Ryman Auditorium is? It's where the Grand

  105. Ole Opry started. It was in the Ryman Auditorium.

  106. One day I was a worship leader there. I've been

  107. a conference director. We had a youth conference

  108. for over 20 years. I was on the road for over

  109. 20 years as an evangelist. I was a chaplain at

  110. Lakewood Camper Resort. I'm also a volunteer

  111. chaplain at Giovanni's right there on the corner.

  112. I'm a preacher. Some people call me preacher.

  113. Some people call me pastor. Some people call

  114. me dean. Somebody wipe your head and say, that's

  115. a lot. But for those of you who are new to this

  116. series, you just found out a lot about me, didn't

  117. you? That you didn't know. You might have thought

  118. I was a preacher my whole life. I've done a lot.

  119. Alright? So, over 29 names I've just shared with

  120. you, but I'm one person. Some people, when you

  121. talk about God having a lot of names, you might

  122. be confused that there's a lot of gods. But God

  123. is one essence in three persons. Okay? Are you

  124. with me? Nod your head or something if you're

  125. with me. God is one. Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

  126. One essence. So, what's in a name? Identity,

  127. relationship, and activity. And that's in God's

  128. names too. And that's what this study's been

  129. about. Because in God's names, we find out who

  130. he is. His eternal name that he wants to be known

  131. by for every generation for all time is Yahweh.

  132. Everybody say Yahweh. That's his eternal name.

  133. But then there's some relationship names. They

  134. signify what kind of relationship he wants to

  135. be in with me and with you. And then there's

  136. some activity names. What he wants to do in our

  137. lives. And you might say, well, if he wants to

  138. do it, let him do it. But we have to receive

  139. who he is by faith. I'll say that again. We have

  140. to receive. It's not just that he is that. We

  141. have to receive him as being that in our lives

  142. by faith. Easiest example. The Bible says it's

  143. not God's will that any should perish, right?

  144. That's what the Bible says. It's not God's will

  145. that any should perish, but that all should come

  146. to repentance and believe in Him. So it's God's

  147. will to save everybody, for Him to be Savior

  148. for everybody. How many of you know that everybody

  149. is not going to be saved by grace through faith?

  150. Are you with me? You have to receive it. You

  151. have to receive him as Savior in order for him

  152. to be your Savior. He is Savior, but just because

  153. he is Savior doesn't mean he's your Savior. Are

  154. you with me? Come on, somebody. Y 'all lighten

  155. up a little bit. I'm not talking about money

  156. anymore. I'm talking about salvation. Right?

  157. So. If we want to see God do the things that

  158. he says he wants to do by telling us who he is,

  159. then we've got to receive it by faith. Here's

  160. our platform verse for this study. Psalm 910.

  161. Those who know your name, everybody say God's

  162. name. Those who know your name will put their

  163. trust in you. For you, Lord, have not forsaken

  164. those who seek you. Another translation of that

  165. Hebrew word that's translated trust in English

  166. is confidence. Everybody say confidence. So when

  167. we know who God is based on His names given to

  168. us in Scripture, then we can put our trust and

  169. our confidence in Him. And we can know. Everybody

  170. say, I can know. I can know who God is, what

  171. He wants to do in my life, what kind of relationship

  172. He wants to be in with me. I can know that. Because

  173. He's not going to forsake me. He's not going

  174. to turn His back on me when I seek Him based

  175. on who He says He is. Today we're looking at

  176. three names. First one is Hebrew. The next two

  177. are going to be in Greek out of the New Testament.

  178. Hello, my name is Adonai. Everybody say Adonai.

  179. Have you heard that word Adonai before? Who has?

  180. Who's heard that word? Adonai. Now, Adonai, I

  181. don't know if this is the next slide or not.

  182. Adonai is in the Old Testament over 450 times.

  183. Look to the person beside you and say, that's

  184. a lot. It's in there over 450 times. I'm going

  185. to give you a way to distinguish. when the word

  186. is Adonai and when the word is Yahweh. Is that

  187. okay? So when you read your Bible, if all four

  188. letters of Lord are all capitalized, I don't

  189. know if you've noticed that in your Bible or

  190. not, but if you read the word Lord and it's all

  191. capital, that means that the Hebrew was Yahweh.

  192. Okay? If it is not, all capitalize the word Lord,

  193. it means that the Hebrew word was Adonai. All

  194. right? So it's used over 450 times. So what does

  195. that mean? What does Adonai mean? Well, it comes

  196. from Adon, and it means to rule. It means sovereign.

  197. Lord, master, ruler is the way it's translated

  198. into English. So we can put it this way. My Lord

  199. and respected authority. Everybody say that with

  200. me. My Lord and respected authority. That means

  201. he's my Lord and I respect his rule. I respect

  202. his authority over my life. You know why I can

  203. say I respect it? Because I've yielded the authority

  204. of my life over to him. Then you can call him

  205. Adonai from your heart. Now, some people take

  206. that word sovereign and they try to make it mean

  207. other things. The Christian doctrine of God's

  208. sovereignty is not saying, listen, it's not saying,

  209. everybody say not saying, it's not saying that

  210. he is in meticulous control over everything that

  211. happens on earth. It's not saying that. Some

  212. people think that's what sovereignty means. God's

  213. in control of everything. He's in meticulous

  214. control of everything. I'm just going to go ahead

  215. and throw it out there. If He is, He's messed

  216. up. If He's in control of all the evil, if He's

  217. in control of all the choices of sin that people

  218. make, It can't be. It can't be. Because if it

  219. is, then he's not good. He's like an evil puppet

  220. master. So he's not in control of every meticulous

  221. thing that happens. Now, he is supreme authority.

  222. Hello? Everybody say, he's supreme authority.

  223. He's supreme authority. I've got a little thing

  224. to help you understand what I'm talking about.

  225. King Charles III. He's known as the sovereign

  226. king of the UK and the 14 commonwealths. Everybody

  227. say sovereign. Just because he is the authority

  228. over the UK and the 14 commonwealths does not

  229. mean that he's responsible for 100 women burning

  230. their scones this morning. Do you agree with

  231. me? You can't hold him responsible. Now, he's

  232. as high as it gets authority -wise in the UK

  233. and the Commonwealth. He is the authority figure,

  234. right? But those women didn't set the timer's

  235. right or something. You can't blame that on the

  236. king. I'm glad some of you smiled. Could you

  237. blame it on him? No. Some people take that doctrine

  238. of sovereignty to the point that God is in control

  239. and responsible for everything that happens in

  240. this earth and in their lives. Several years

  241. ago, I had a pastor friend that posted this.

  242. He said, I hate to even read it, but here's what

  243. he posted. I believe the devil is more a servant

  244. of God today after his fall than he was before

  245. his fall. The devil is simply a tool. In God's

  246. hands. God is trying to teach you something through

  247. everything that happens to you. Now a preacher

  248. posted this. If preachers are posting this, God

  249. help us. Right? What's happening? I don't know.

  250. I don't know what was happening. But I had to

  251. change microphones. Did that one have a devil

  252. in it or something? I don't know. Turn red. Oh,

  253. you saw the battery about to burn out. Thank

  254. you. All right, back to this. A preacher posted

  255. this. Now, a lot of times people say things about

  256. God and they don't think through. Look at the

  257. person beside you and say, you've got to think

  258. it through. Whatever you say about God, you better

  259. think it through. Because what this pastor put

  260. on social media about God, he might as well be

  261. saying this. God runs a mafia organization, and

  262. the mafia organization is of demons, and they

  263. do his dirty work so that he can keep his hands

  264. clean. Hello? If you think it through, that's

  265. what he said. That's what he said. In that case,

  266. if what he posted is true, all spiritual warfare,

  267. all standing in the armor of God, all resisting

  268. the devil would ultimately be fighting against

  269. God. If God's bringing it, we shouldn't be against

  270. it. Hello? I think half of you are with me. I

  271. don't know about the rest of you. Years ago,

  272. some friends told me, they were talking about

  273. their son. They told me that God's plan. Everybody

  274. say God's plan. Now, I know bad things happen,

  275. all right? Bad things happen in relationships,

  276. and bad things happen with addictions. But they

  277. were telling me that this is God's plan. They

  278. told me God's plan for their son, who had been

  279. my pastor for three years. God's plan was for

  280. him to get divorced and to become an alcoholic

  281. so that God could eventually use him in a greater

  282. way. And they told me that that was God's plan.

  283. What are you saying? Think it through. Everybody

  284. say, think it through. In that case, if what

  285. they say was true, then God is the one who leads

  286. us to sin. So repentance and holy living, that

  287. would be going against God's bigger plan. Isn't

  288. that crazy? To think that? Many people say God

  289. made them sick to teach them something. Has anybody

  290. ever heard that? God made me sick. God gave me

  291. cancer because he needed to teach me something.

  292. The Bible said, listen, Jesus said, if a little

  293. kid asks his daddy for some bread, Would he give

  294. him a snake? Is there a parent in this room that

  295. you would want your child to get cancer so that

  296. you could teach them something? So what are we

  297. blaming on God? Come on somebody, help me. People

  298. say that God made them sick to teach them something.

  299. Now listen, God's in the business. of taking

  300. whatever we're dealing with in this fallen world.

  301. God's in the business. If we will look to Him

  302. and trust Him, we can see something good. Even

  303. in the middle of the most terrible situations

  304. that we find ourselves in, we can see something

  305. good. Are you with me? But God didn't bring the

  306. tragedy. He didn't bring it. He's the one who

  307. can bring some good out of it. Because in that

  308. case, if God gave you a disease or if God gave

  309. you cancer, going to the doctor, taking medicine,

  310. praying for healing, we'd be working against

  311. God. Look to the person beside you and remind

  312. them, you've got to think it through. You've

  313. got to think it through. so many people get it

  314. wrong so many people hear a preacher say something

  315. like that and then they go repeat it and nobody

  316. has thought it through listen god is not the

  317. author of evil god is not the author of disease

  318. god is not the author of destruction god is not

  319. the author of death All this, they're products

  320. of rebellion and sin. That might not be a product

  321. of your personal rebellion or sin. It could be

  322. the product of somebody that you're connected

  323. with, their rebellion of sin. But we're all connected

  324. to Adam and Eve. If you go back far enough, we're

  325. all connected. And that's when all of these things,

  326. evil, disease, destruction, death, that's when

  327. they all manifested in the world. It didn't come

  328. from God. Some people say God's in control and

  329. it's all God and God does this, God does that.

  330. He's the one who puts all this evil on me and

  331. all these things that I just talked about. I

  332. call that a no -fault religion. And the reason

  333. why so many people are okay with that is because

  334. they don't want to take any responsibility. Hello?

  335. People don't want to take responsibility. Like

  336. Jeffrey said last week when we were looking at

  337. Yahweh Rapha, the Lord is our healer. People

  338. don't want to look at the responsibility that

  339. they ate at McDonald's two times a day for ten

  340. years and then they got some kind of disease.

  341. We had a lady in Myrtle Beach. I preached her

  342. funeral and she says, you know why I have stomach

  343. cancer? Because I eat hot dogs with nitrates

  344. twice a day every day. She owned up to it. Because

  345. she just loved hot dogs. And she ate hot dogs

  346. until the day she died. Now you can get them

  347. nitrate -free. But she went 60 years of eating

  348. hot dogs every day. And it says on the package,

  349. I mean, you know, you look up nitrates, you can

  350. see that it's not going to be good for you. She

  351. knew. She didn't say God gave me cancer. She

  352. said I gave myself cancer because I ate nitrates

  353. every day. Hello? But some people want to blame

  354. God for their predicament. And sometimes their

  355. words and their actions are responsible for where

  356. they are. Psalm 105. The Lord. Everybody say

  357. Adonai. For the Lord. He's good. Look to the

  358. person beside you and smile real big and say,

  359. God's good. Adonai is good. His unfailing love

  360. continues forever. His faithfulness continues

  361. to each generation. That's who Adonai is. Adonai.

  362. He rules and reigns as my respected authority.

  363. And when we call Him Lord, We're saying that

  364. that's who He is. We're not just saying a word.

  365. Hello? We're not just saying the word Lord, because

  366. you can say the word Lord and Him not be your

  367. Lord. We'll look at that in just a minute. You

  368. can say that He's Lord, but to say that He is

  369. Adonai means that you have given Him authority

  370. over your life. Somebody smile. Hello, my name

  371. is... I'm going to cheat and look at the phonetic

  372. here. Despates. Despates. Hello, my name is Despates.

  373. That means he's absolute ruler. And it comes

  374. from the root word, deo, which means to bind.

  375. To bind. So... when we call Jesus Lord, we're

  376. saying that He is the absolute ruler of our lives.

  377. Here's what it's saying. I have bound myself

  378. to Him. He's bound Himself to me. We're bound

  379. together. So He is my Lord and He is my owner.

  380. If Jesus is Lord, If He really is Lord, you've

  381. got to agree that He owns you. And here's why

  382. He's owned you. Because He bought you with a

  383. price. What was that price? His blood. He bought

  384. us. He bought us. He is my Lord and He is my

  385. owner. 2 Peter 2 .1 But there were also false

  386. prophets. Everybody say false prophets. False

  387. prophets in Israel, just as there were false

  388. teachers, there will be false teachers among

  389. you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies,

  390. listen, and even deny the master. Everybody said

  391. despates, Lord. They will even deny the Lord

  392. who bought them. So it's heresy, it's false doctrine.

  393. unless we recognize that Jesus paid a price for

  394. us and He bought us. See, we're all born being

  395. a slave to sin. Hello? We're all born being a

  396. slave to sin. But when we receive Christ as our

  397. Lord and acknowledge Him as Lord, the Holy Spirit

  398. takes us from being a slave to sin into being

  399. in Christ. We were in sin. He moves us to being...

  400. In Christ. He bought us. And it's a heresy. If

  401. you do not look to Jesus as being your owner,

  402. many believe that God exists. And they think

  403. if they believe that God exists, that they're

  404. good. Many believe that He exists, but... There's

  405. a lot of people who believe that God exists and

  406. they've never surrendered the ownership rights

  407. of their lives to Him. They've never done that.

  408. God exists. Okay, I believe that, so now I've

  409. got a fire insurance policy, so now I can just

  410. go about my life however I want to. Somebody

  411. say false doctrine. It's not true. James 2, 19.

  412. You say you have faith, for you believe that

  413. there's one God. Good for you. Even the demons

  414. believe this. Fallen one -third of the angels,

  415. the demons, they believe that there's a God and

  416. that there's one God. I mean, they've seen it,

  417. right? They believe that, but how many of you

  418. know that's not faith unto salvation? It's different.

  419. Denying or not recognizing that we belong to

  420. God, that we were purchased by the blood of Jesus,

  421. is an indicator of false doctrine and counterfeit

  422. faith. I don't normally preach this hard. I feel

  423. like I'm preaching hard today. Sometimes we need

  424. dogmatic preaching. This is the way it is. And

  425. we need to hear it. We need to receive it. 1

  426. Corinthians 6, 19. Don't you realize that your

  427. body, everybody say my body, if you're in Christ,

  428. this is talking about you, don't you realize

  429. that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

  430. who lives in you and was given to you by God?

  431. Listen to what it says. You do not belong to

  432. yourself. How do we live our lives? Come on,

  433. somebody. How do we live our lives most of the

  434. time? Most of the time we live our lives like

  435. we belong to ourselves. And God is just somebody

  436. who we occasionally come visit on Sunday morning.

  437. And our life is just about me, me, me, me, me,

  438. me, me. Listen, you do not belong to yourself

  439. for God bought you with a high price. You've

  440. been bought. One more. Everybody say one more.

  441. Hello. My name is... I don't know if I'm going

  442. to say it right. Let me look at phonetics again.

  443. Coup. Coup. Got some phlegm in my esophagus.

  444. Coup. Courios. Courios. Kurios. Hello, my name

  445. is Kurios. Here's what that means. Supreme in

  446. authority. My Lord and Master. That's who God

  447. is. Romans 10, 9. You might have heard this verse

  448. before. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus

  449. is Kurios, Lord. And believe in your heart that

  450. God raised him from the dead. You will be saved.

  451. He will become your Savior. Listen. When you

  452. confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord

  453. and Master. Do you think he's just using those

  454. words? Or do you think there has to be some understanding

  455. and implication to what this says? Is it just

  456. saying the word Lord? Oh, I said the word Lord

  457. one day, and I believe that he was raised from

  458. the dead, so I'm saved because I've said the

  459. word Lord. Here's what Jesus said. On judgment

  460. day, many, everybody say many, many will say

  461. to me, Kurios, Kurios. We prophesied in your

  462. name, cast out demons in your name, performed

  463. many miracles in your name. So Jesus, I've done

  464. a lot of religious stuff in your name. Done a

  465. lot of religious stuff. So you've got to let

  466. me in because I'm a very religious person. You

  467. know? What did Jesus say? But I will reply, I

  468. never knew you. These are some tough words. But

  469. I'd be wrong if I didn't tell it to you. Right?

  470. I'd be cheating you. Because now nobody in this

  471. room can look at me and say, Dean, why didn't

  472. you tell me the truth? I thought as long as I

  473. was a good religious person that I was going

  474. to get to heaven. And as long as I just said

  475. the word Lord, I was going to heaven. But Jesus

  476. said, no, there's going to be a lot of people

  477. who say, Lord, Lord. And they've even done some

  478. really religious stuff. Even beyond just going

  479. to church, even every Sunday, right? They're

  480. prophesying. They're saying, I'm speaking for

  481. God. This is what God's saying, you know. So

  482. they had enough religion and maybe even enough

  483. word of God to say, well, this is what God says

  484. about what you're doing. But here's the problem.

  485. They missed out on Lord. They missed out. Because

  486. Lord is a relationship name. Remember, I said

  487. some names are identity, some names are relationship,

  488. some names are activity. Lord is full on a relationship

  489. name. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord,

  490. Kurios, will be saved. Everyone who says, Jesus,

  491. I call on you to be, My Lord and my Master, Jesus,

  492. I surrender my life to you. You're my supreme

  493. authority. You own me. You bought me. So I'm

  494. going to live for you and follow you. My life's

  495. just not going to be about me all the time. I'm

  496. going to live for you. Right? Isn't that what

  497. we do if he's our owner and our master? If he's

  498. our authority, if we respect him as our authority,

  499. don't we live for him instead of just living

  500. for ourselves? Everyone who calls on the name

  501. of the Lord will be saved. So Adonai, despotis,

  502. kurios, they're more than just identifiers. Because

  503. many will say, Lord, Lord, as an identification.

  504. But Jesus said, you know, you're using the word

  505. Lord, but I've never been your Lord in relationship.

  506. Isn't that what he said? Because he said, sorry,

  507. never knew you. We know God's name. We can put

  508. our faith, we can put our trust, we can put our

  509. confidence in him. For you, Lord, Adonai, have

  510. not forsaken those who seek you. When you call

  511. on the name of the Lord, let me tell you something.

  512. When you say to Jesus, I surrender my life to

  513. you, you know what? You can be confident that

  514. he's going to receive you. That He's going to

  515. forgive you. That His blood on the cross purchased

  516. you. And even in that understanding, guess what?

  517. You become a child of God. You become a joint

  518. heir with Christ. You get adopted into the family

  519. of God. But we still understand who He is and

  520. what He has done for us. And we stay in that

  521. relationship with Him. His name is Adonai. Despotes.

  522. Kurios. Some people call Christianity itself

  523. the great confession. Everybody say the great

  524. confession. Here's the great confession. Jesus

  525. is Lord. Would you say that with me? Jesus is

  526. Lord. Can we put it like this? Jesus is my Lord.

  527. Here's what I want you to get today. He is Lord

  528. and wants to be Lord over everything. Listen.

  529. There's coming a day when He is going to be recognized

  530. as Lord of all. The Bible says there's a day

  531. when every knee will bow. Have any of you ever

  532. met somebody who was a sure enough atheist who...

  533. Didn't just know if God existed or not, but they

  534. were working against God. They were against God.

  535. Their knees are going to bow one day. When they

  536. stand before Jesus on judgment day, their knees

  537. are going to bow. And they're going to confess

  538. this great confession that Jesus is Lord. Because

  539. they're going to see it, but it's going to be

  540. too late. See, we exist on this earth. If you

  541. ever want to know why you're here, you're here

  542. to have the opportunity to come into a relationship

  543. with God. That's why you're still alive today.

  544. That's why we exist. Will you make the choice?

  545. To love God and to accept Jesus as your Savior

  546. and Lord. That's why we exist. If we only saw

  547. our lives that way every day, I believe it would

  548. make a difference in the way we lived our lives.

  549. And I want to tell you today, God will be Lord

  550. over whatever... You surrender to him. I'll say

  551. that again. God will be Lord. Jesus will be Lord

  552. over whatever you surrender to him. Most important

  553. thing is that you surrender yourself to him.

  554. But did you know that you could surrender your

  555. family to him? Did you know that you could surrender

  556. your home to him? Do you know that you could?

  557. Surrender your business to Him? Did you know

  558. that you could confess with me that Jesus is

  559. Lord over four corners? We can stand by faith

  560. in that, that Jesus is Lord over all 172 communities?

  561. See, when you surrender it to Him, when you surrender

  562. your job to Him, when you surrender your business

  563. to Him, when you surrender your family to Him,

  564. then you can see Him at work. But if you don't

  565. surrender to Him as Lord, then it's yours. You're

  566. the Lord over it. How many of you know it's a

  567. whole lot better to let Jesus be Lord over it

  568. than you to be Lord over it? Come on, somebody.

  569. Real quick. If you're here today and you cannot

  570. look back on your life and see a time. Now listen,

  571. I'm not saying a time when you repeated some

  572. words after somebody because you got emotional

  573. during something going on. Can you look back

  574. to a time in your life where you found yourself

  575. and realized because the Holy Spirit was convicting

  576. you, have you realized that you were a sinner

  577. and that your sin separates you from the Holy

  578. God? Has that ever happened in your life? Have

  579. you ever come to the point where you realize

  580. that God is holy and you're not? And when you

  581. came to that point, did you ask God to forgive

  582. you? He's faithful and just, right? If we confess

  583. our sins, He's faithful and just. He'll forgive

  584. us of all unrighteousness. So can you look back

  585. to a time when that happened? And then the Bible

  586. says if you call on the name of the Lord, you'll

  587. be saved. You'll be rescued from your sin when

  588. you call on the name of the Lord. So can you

  589. look back at a time? You didn't have to use these

  590. exact words, but has there been a time where

  591. you said, Jesus, up until today, my life's just

  592. been all about me. But from now on, I want you

  593. to be my Lord. I surrender my life to you. I

  594. want to live for you. Can you look back at a

  595. time in your life and see that that took place?

  596. If you can't, I have some great news. Because

  597. today, the Bible says, is the day of salvation.

  598. Right here, right now, while the Holy Spirit's

  599. tugging at your heart, today's the day of salvation.

  600. If that's what you want to do, I want to ask

  601. you to pray with me. But listen, there's nothing

  602. magic about the words that I'm going to say.

  603. You could write these words down, and you could

  604. just read them off of a page a hundred times

  605. today, and it wouldn't mean anything unless you

  606. take these words and make them yours. All I'm

  607. doing is putting in the words what I believe

  608. the Bible says to confess Jesus as Lord and to

  609. confess your sin to God. I'm just putting it

  610. in words. But it's not about repeating my words,

  611. because listen, we can teach birds to repeat

  612. words after people. But if this is what you want

  613. to say to God from your heart, and you say it

  614. to Him, the great news is this, He'll hear you.

  615. He'll forgive you. He'll welcome you into His

  616. family. He will be your Savior and your Lord.

  617. Because that's who He is, and that's the relationship

  618. that He wants to be in with you. So if that's

  619. what you want, I ask you to pray with me. Let's

  620. pray. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God.

  621. I believe You died on the cross for me, for my

  622. sin, in my place. I believe You rose again from

  623. the grave, just like the Bible says. I realize

  624. today that I'm a sinner. You're holy and I'm

  625. not, so I ask you to forgive me of my sin. Wash

  626. me clean. Clothe me in your righteousness. Jesus,

  627. today, I realize that up until today, my life's

  628. just been all about me. But from now on, I want

  629. my life to be about you. I surrender myself to

  630. you as my Lord, my honor, my master. I confess

  631. you as my Lord. If you're here today, don't look.

  632. Everybody keep your eyes closed and your heads

  633. down. If you're here today and you say, Dean,

  634. you know what? I couldn't look back in my life

  635. and see a time when I confessed my sin and surrendered

  636. my life to the Lord Jesus, but I just did. If

  637. that's you, nobody's looking around. Only me

  638. and God are looking around right now, but would

  639. you lift up your hand? If you'd say, I just pray

  640. with you. That's what I wanted to say to God.

  641. I ask Him to be my Lord, my Savior. I ask Him

  642. to forgive me. Everybody look up this way. Either

  643. you have done that or you're not ready. I want

  644. you to stand with me. Let's stand together. And

  645. let's say this confession together based on who

  646. He is as our Lord. You ready? Let's read it together.

  647. Don't repeat. Just read it together like we're

  648. in third grade reading together. All right? Here

  649. we go. One, two, three. Lord, I surrender my

  650. life to you. You are my respected authority,

  651. my owner, and my master. You are Lord over my

  652. life. You are Lord over my family. You are Lord

  653. over all, everything. Listen. Saying that Jesus

  654. is your Lord shouldn't be a one -time thing that

  655. you never say again. We need to confess this

  656. every day, that Jesus is our Lord. I believe

  657. it will change the way we live. We need to confess

  658. that Jesus is Lord over our home. Jesus is Lord

  659. over our business. Jesus is Lord over our job.

  660. Jesus is Lord over Four Corners. Hello? Somebody

  661. smile. We need to be confessing that Jesus is

  662. Lord. Every day, that great confession. That's

  663. who he is. That's who he wants to be in relationship

  664. with you. This online worship experience was

  665. brought to you by the friends and partners of

  666. Eulation Church.
