  1. Now during this series, we've looked at God's five purposes

  2. for your life. You are not an accident. They are

  3. accidental parents. There are no accidental children. They're illegitimate parents.

  4. There are no illegitimate children. Your parents may not have

  5. planned you, but God did, and he planned you even

  6. before the foundation of the world. And your life has value,

  7. and your life has significance. And you are not an accident.

  8. And the Bible says that God created you for five purposes,

  9. for five reasons, for five assignments. The Bible calls them

  10. your callings in life, your vocation in your life. Your

  11. vocation is far more than your career. Oh no, no, no,

  12. it's your reason for existence. And God says I made

  13. you for five reasons. Now we looked first at I

  14. am called to be loved. The number one purpose of

  15. your life is you were made to be loved by God.

  16. And until you get that, nothing else is going to

  17. make sense. You're made by God and for God, and

  18. He made you to love you in that base of love.

  19. When you feel totally completely loved by God, then you

  20. have the capacity to move into every area of life

  21. that He wants you to move into and to experience

  22. life in all its fullness. But first you're called to

  23. be loved by God. Then we looked at the next

  24. week at your called to belong. You're called to not

  25. just be loved, You're called to belong. You're called to

  26. belong to His family. You were not meant to go

  27. through life on your own. You're not alone, ranger. You

  28. are made for connection. You are made for community, and

  29. we find our meeting and purpose in our relationships to

  30. each other. You're made, You're created. You're called to belong.

  31. Then we looked at the third calling in your life.

  32. You're called to become. God has plans for your life.

  33. He made you to become what He wants you to be.

  34. You can't be anybody in the world. People will tell

  35. you that. It's just not true. No matter how hard

  36. I try, I'm never going to be an opera singer.

  37. And no matter how hard I try, I'm never going

  38. to be good at certain sports. I'm just not wired

  39. that way. You can be who God has made you

  40. to become, and joy getting in the Jay zone is

  41. when you become who God made you to be. You're

  42. called to be loved, You're called to belong, You're called

  43. to become. And then last week we looked at the

  44. fourth calling in your life. You're called to bless, You're

  45. called to bless others. God didn't put you on the

  46. earth to live a selfish little claw of a life

  47. where it's all about me. No, it's not all about you.

  48. It's all about God. It's all about others. And we

  49. find our true meaning and purpose only as we give

  50. our lives away. And as I bless other people, I

  51. am blessed myself. And as I help others, I am

  52. help myself. It's the law of so and reaping. But

  53. when you sow a seed, you don't just get one

  54. seed back, you get multiple seeds back. So whatever you

  55. sow in life, you're going to get back more of

  56. You sow criticism, you get back more criticism. But you

  57. sow praise, you get back more praise. And you're called

  58. to bless other people with your life using what we

  59. call your shape, shape, your spiritual gifts, your heart, your abilities,

  60. your personality, and your experience. And nobody is uniquely shaped

  61. like you are. You have a unique voice, print, iPrint, mouth, handprint, footprint, heartbeat,

  62. emotional beat, and God doesn't want you to be anybody else.

  63. And when you get to heaven one day, he's not

  64. going to say, why won't you more like somebody else?

  65. He's going to say, why won't you more like you?

  66. I made you to be you? Unless you be you?

  67. Who's going to be you? Now? Tonight we look at

  68. the fifth calling, and this is the calling of being sent.

  69. I'm called to belong, I'm called to be loved, I'm

  70. called to become, I'm called to bless and I'm called

  71. to be said. Now, I want you to write this

  72. down on your outline. God's plan for history. If you

  73. want to know the purpose of history, here it is

  74. He's gathering a family. God is gathering a family that

  75. will love and live with him forever. The Bible makes

  76. us very very clear, and the message was brought to

  77. us first by the nation of Israel. God gave this

  78. message to the Jews to give to the rest of us,

  79. and now we are to pass it on to others

  80. that God's plan for history is that He's gathering a

  81. family that will love and live with him forever. If

  82. God hadn't wanted a family, he wouldn't have created a universe,

  83. he wouldn't have created the human race. He wouldn't have

  84. created you and me. The Bible says this in Ephesians,

  85. chapter one, verse five, look up here on the screen.

  86. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into

  87. his own family. This is God to adopt us into

  88. his own family by bringing this to himself through Jesus Christ,

  89. and this gave him great pleasure. All of us are

  90. created by God, all of us are loved by God,

  91. but not everybody is a child of God. You got

  92. to choose to be in the family. In fact, there's

  93. only two ways to get into family, be born into

  94. it or be adopted into it, and the Bible uses

  95. both of these metaphors. Spiritual rebirth and adoption is what

  96. it means to get into God's family. Now for that

  97. to happen. God's whole purpose in creating the universe is

  98. to gather a group of people who choose willingly to

  99. love him. And God gives me a free choice to

  100. love or reject him. And God says, you ought to

  101. give everybody else a free choice to love or of Jeppy,

  102. it's not faith if it's forced. So we don't believe

  103. in coercion. We believe in persuasion. We believe may the

  104. best idea when but we don't believe in coercion, because

  105. God says, I created you to love me, and it's

  106. not love unless I can choose to not love him.

  107. But those who choose to love him become a part

  108. of God's family. Now, once God's family is gathered together,

  109. we go into phase two, which is after earth, which

  110. is after eternity, and that is excuse me, after life.

  111. It's in eternity where the real life begins. This is

  112. the preschool, This is the warm up back. This is

  113. a dress rehearsal. This is the first lap around before

  114. the real race begins. The race, the real life is eternity. Now,

  115. for God to gather his family, somebody has to pass

  116. on the good news. And here's what the Bible says

  117. in Romans chapter ten, verses thirteen to fifteen. Anyone who

  118. calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

  119. That's a promise. But he says, how can they call

  120. on him to save them unless they believe in him?

  121. And how can they believe in him if they've never

  122. heard of him? And how can they hear about him

  123. unless someone tells them? And how can anyone go and

  124. tell them without being sent circle the word sent. This

  125. is the fifth calling of your life. You are called

  126. to be sent. This is what the scripture means when

  127. they say how beautiful are the feet of those who

  128. bring good news. Now what this verse means is this

  129. my fifth purpose in life? My fifth calling in life

  130. is this. I'm sent to bring others into God's family.

  131. I'm sent to bring others in God's family. The moment

  132. I step across the line spiritually, God wants me to

  133. share the good news with others. You know, if I

  134. had the cure for AIDS and I kept it a

  135. secret and I didn't tell anybody, that would be criminal.

  136. In fact, they'll put me in prison. If I had

  137. that good news and didn't telp people, I should be incarcerated.

  138. If I had the cure for cancer and I didn't

  139. tell anybody about it, that would be criminal. But God

  140. has given us an even greater message. How to have

  141. our past forgiven, how to have a purpose for living,

  142. how to have a home in heaven and then not

  143. share that would be criminal. So my fifth purpose in

  144. calling in life is I'm sent to bring others into

  145. God's family. The Bible says in First Corinthias, Second Corinthians

  146. five eighteen. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself.

  147. Then God gave us the work of bringing others into

  148. peace with him. I want you to circle the word

  149. peace twice there on your notes. God made peace between

  150. us and himself through Jesus. Then God gave us the

  151. work of bringing others into peace with him. So God's

  152. not mad at you. You can be at peace with him. Now.

  153. This is God's eternal peace plan. The Bible calls it

  154. the Ministry of Reconciliation. One day, Jesus is walking down

  155. the street and a guy comes up to and says, Lord,

  156. what's the most important verse in the Bible? And Jesus

  157. that I can summarize the whole Bible and two sentences.

  158. Here's cliff notes on the Bible. Here's the whole Bible

  159. in two sentences. Love God with all your heart, and

  160. love your neighbor as yourself. Be reconciled to God, and

  161. be reconciled to each other. Make peace with God and

  162. make peace with each other. Stop your war with God,

  163. stop your war with each other in the conflict with God,

  164. and then you'll be able to end the conflict with

  165. each other. Get the Prince of peace in your life,

  166. and you'll be able to live at peace. It's all

  167. about relationships. Life is not about accomplishments. It's not about achievements.

  168. It's not allow about acquisitions. It's about relationships. Your relationship

  169. to God, your relationship to yourself, and your relationship to

  170. other people. Love God with all your heart, and love

  171. your neighbors, yourself. Oh, this is the ministry of reconciliation.

  172. This is what God calls we call the peace plan.

  173. Make peace with God and then make peace with others

  174. and bring the peace of God into their lives. Now,

  175. this peace plan, of God's eternal peace plan, will only

  176. happen if you fulfill your fifth calling. The Bible says

  177. it like this, John chapter twenty, verse twenty one. In fact,

  178. let's read this verse aloud together. Let's read it aloud

  179. with great enthusiasm. Jesus said, peace be with you, as

  180. the Father has sent me. I am sending you now again.

  181. Circle three words, circle the word peace. It's the peace plan.

  182. Peace be with you. We get peace with God, and

  183. we give the peace of God, and we explain the

  184. peace of God to others. As the Father has sent me.

  185. I'm sending you circle the words and sending. This is

  186. your fifth calling, and this is the one calling that

  187. most people want to shy away from. I can imagine

  188. some people get in heaven and God says, Okay, let's

  189. go through the purposes. I created you for the reasons

  190. you exist. Let's go through the callings I give in

  191. your life. Did you let me love you your call

  192. to be loved? Yes? Got that one? Bingo you're call

  193. to belong, got that one. I did that. You're called

  194. the book to become. Got that? Did that You're called

  195. the bus. Others got that you're called to be sent

  196. and passed it on to others? Ah, wrong answer, I

  197. didn't do that one. And God's gonna say, and what

  198. were you thinking? You think I put you on earth

  199. to live for yourself. Once you have the good news,

  200. don't you pass it on to others? Jesus said it

  201. like this in John fifteen sixteen. You did not choose me,

  202. but I chose you, and I appointed you to go

  203. circle the word to go. I've appointed you to go.

  204. Part of your appointment, part of your mission in life.

  205. Your life mission is to go. You are to sent,

  206. and you were to go. I chose you and appointed

  207. you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Now,

  208. fruit is a metaphor for a successful life, a fulfilling life,

  209. a productive life, a fruitful life. And Jesus said, I

  210. want you to bear fruit in your life that will last,

  211. that will last. Let me, now, let me be honest

  212. with you. Most of what you do in life isn't

  213. going to last. Most of what I do in life

  214. isn't going to last. The things that we spend most

  215. of our time on people aren't even going to remember

  216. in ten years, much less than thirty fifty or one hundred.

  217. Most of the things you do in your life, it

  218. isn't going to last. Nobody's going to care what movies

  219. you went to, what books you read, what how you

  220. spent your summer. And Jesus said, I want you to

  221. do something with your life that lasts. Now. There are

  222. only two things are going to last forever, truth and people.

  223. Truth and people. So if you invest your life in

  224. truth and in people, then you're investing your life in

  225. things at last. Can you imagine getting to heaven one

  226. day and somebody comes up and says, I just want

  227. to thank you, and you say thank you. I don't

  228. even know you said no, you don't know me. But

  229. you helped in a ministry, you helped in a project,

  230. a humanitarian effort, you helped in your church. And you

  231. know what, you did something that caused me to get

  232. to know God. And I'm going to be in heaven

  233. because of you. I'm your friend forever.

  249. It's amazing that two thousand years later after Jesus came

  250. to there's still three thousand tribes that had never even

  251. heard of Jesus. Now there's small tribes between five thousand

  252. people and at the most one hundred thousand. But you

  253. know what, God loves him as much as he loves you,

  254. and Europe and the United States of America and every

  255. the place. And God says, I want you to send

  256. you to go to those people. But that's really kind

  257. of like going to the moon. We know where these

  258. three thousand tribes are, like, for instance, four hundred of

  259. those tribes are in Sudan, very difficult places to reach politically, economically,

  260. and even in travel. And he said, that's where we

  261. want to go as a church. Jesus says, go to

  262. all the world and go to all the tribes. And

  263. so he said, let's let's do it twice. In the

  264. Book of Revelation, that's the last book in the Bible,

  265. there are verses that give us a scene from heaven

  266. in the future, and it says this that one day

  267. in heaven, all surrounding God will be people from every nation,

  268. every tribe, every language, and every people group who have

  269. chosen to love Him, who have chosen to love God

  270. and are part of his family. They are in the

  271. family of God, and it says there will be people

  272. from every tribal there's a problem with that. There's still

  273. three thousand tribes who haven't heard the good news. The

  274. Bible says this in Acts one to eight. They're in

  275. your outline. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit

  276. comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in

  277. Jerusalem and in Judea, and in Samaria and to the

  278. ends of the world. I want you to circle the

  279. ANNs Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and in the world.

  280. In other words, it's simultaneous, non sequential. When Jesus gave

  281. these instructions, where were they in Jerusalem? So what's he saying?

  282. I want you to start where you are, start in

  283. your own city. The Bible says this in Acts Chapter twenty,

  284. verse twenty four. The most important thing you're talking about

  285. in my entire life, the most important thing with my

  286. life is that I complete my mission. God has a

  287. mission for your life. God has a life message he

  288. wants to say to the world to you, and God

  289. has a life mission for your life. The most important

  290. thing that I is my complete my mission. And what

  291. is it? The work that the Lord Jesus gave me,

  292. And what is it to tell people the good news

  293. about God's grace? How do I do that? Can you

  294. write quick? Let me give you four thanks? Do is it?

  295. Wrap it up with us? Four thanks? Number one? Pray.

  296. I pray that people will say yes to God. I

  297. pray that people will say yes to God and accept

  298. their life mission and their life message. In Matthew chapter nine,

  299. this is what Jesus said when he sent his followers

  300. out on the very first peace trip. Here's what he said.

  301. Jesus said, there are so many people to harvest, but

  302. only a few workers to help harvest them. Pray, pray

  303. to the Lord who owns the harvest that he will

  304. send out. There's that phrase, call to be sent. He

  305. will send out more workers together his harvest. So part

  306. of your calling in life is to pray that God

  307. will send out people to reach everybody with the good

  308. news of God's love because everybody deserves to hear Does

  309. anybody deserve the chance to hear the good news twice

  310. when there's some people who haven't heard it once. So

  311. we pray, we pray that God will send people out.

  312. And that's the first thing you do. Second thing you

  313. can do is you can give, give to help others go.

  314. Maybe you're in a stage of life you can't go

  315. right now, but you can give to help other people go.

  316. The Bible says this in third John, chapter one, verse eight.

  317. We must support believers who go on trips like this

  318. so we can work together with them in spreading the truth.

  319. And Matthew ten, verse eight says this, freely have you received?

  320. Freely give? So God says, I've been generous with you. You

  321. should be generous and help get the word out. I

  322. can pray, I can give Number three, step out, I

  323. could step out in faith. And what does that mean?

  324. Volunteer God's army. God's mission is one hundred percent volunteer.

  325. It's no conscription, there's no draft. You got to volunteer.

  326. You got to say, Lord, I'm in, I'm willing, I'm able.

  327. Do you know what God uses me because I volunteered.

  328. In fact, I volunteer every day of my life, said God.

  329. I wake up in the morning, and before my feet

  330. hit the ground, I say, Lord, I know you're going

  331. to do some really cool things in the world today.

  332. Would you give me the privileges us being in on

  333. some of them? And the trains move, and I just

  334. want to get on his train. I want to get in.

  335. I don't get up and say God, bless what I'm doing.

  336. I get up in the morning, say God, help me

  337. to do what you're blessing. I know you're going to

  338. bless a bunch of things in the world today. Would

  339. you let me get in on some of it? I

  340. want to get in on this plan. It's not God

  341. working on my plan. I'm working on his plan. I

  342. say God, bless my plans, and say, God, what do

  343. you plan to do today? Can I be in on

  344. some of it? I step out in faith like Isaiah did,

  345. the great prophet in the Old Testament Isaiah sixth st. Eight.

  346. Isaiah says, then I heard the voice of the Lord

  347. saying whom shall I send? There's that word? And called

  348. to me sin? Who will I sin? And who will

  349. go for us? And I said to the Lord, hear

  350. my Lord, send me, send me. If you want God

  351. to use you in any area, something like this or

  352. anything else, you just have to say I'm in. I

  353. dare you to pray the most dangerous prayer, the most

  354. dangerous prayer you can ever pray, is only two words

  355. you've heard me talk about this far. It's only two words.

  356. The single most dangerous prayer you can say is this,

  357. use me. You tell that one to God. You better

  358. get your boots on, because God is looking for people

  359. to use. And what we need is the same attitude

  360. that David had. Look at this verse Psalm sixty seven.

  361. Send us around your around the world with the news

  362. of your saving power and your eternal plan for all mankind.

  363. That's the attitude Jesse Lord send me here, am I

  364. send me like Isaiah said, the great Prophet of Israel.

  365. So I pray that people say yes to God. I

  366. give so others can go. I step out and faith myself.

  367. And number four, this is really important. Go where I

  368. can now. Maybe you can't go to Berlin now, but

  369. you can go somewhere now. You go where I can. Now.

  370. That's personal peace, that's local peace, and helping others. We

  371. live in the county that is filled with needs all

  372. around us. Once there was a guy who was just

  373. really struggling with some personal demons in his life, and

  374. Jesus helped him get his head on right and helped

  375. him get his act together, and he wanted to follow

  376. Jesus on to the next town, and Jesus told him no.

  377. Look at this verse Luke eight, verse thirty nine. Jesus said,

  378. you go back home. He said, I want you to

  379. go back home and tell people how much God has

  380. done for you. So the man went all over town

  381. tell him how much Jesus had done for him. Some

  382. of the things. I think, what God will see you.

  383. You need to go back home. You need to tell

  384. people in your on your campus, if you're in school,

  385. or in your business, if you're in a business, or

  386. in your neighborhood, if you live in a neighborhood, to

  387. tell the people around you, tell them the good news. Now,

  388. the last verse on your outline, tewod Timothy four or

  389. five says, this work at bringing others to Christ. Why

  390. because they'll experience His love, The experiences forgiveness. The experience

  391. is peace, the experience's purpose, the experience past forgives and

  392. purpose for living all of these things that God offers

  393. to us. Where and bring by the way, this is

  394. our memory verse. You know, each week we're memorizing one

  395. verse from the Bible. And this week I thought it'd

  396. be really nice and light on you and give you

  397. a word a sentence that's only so short anybody can

  398. memorize it. So when you memorize the Bible verse, you

  399. say the reference where are you find it in the Bible?

  400. At the beginning, at the end. So let's say this

  401. aloud together. Okay, Second Timothy four or five, work at

  402. bringing others to Christ? Second Timothy four or five? By

  403. the way, what is second Timothy four five? Yeah? And

  404. by the way, where does it say work can bring

  405. another's to Christ in the Bible? Very good class? All right,

  406. let me close with a prayer. Let's bow our heads.

  407. Dear God, what we've talked about this weekend is really

  408. the subject, dearest to your own heart. You want people

  409. in your family. You know everything about us, and you

  410. want us to know you. It's the reason you created

  411. the universe. It's the reason you sent your son to

  412. die for us. It's the reason you have never made

  413. anybody that you don't love. You've never made anybody you

  414. didn't have a plan and purpose for their life. So

  415. I pray too things first, that you would keep us

  416. from being distracted and things in our life that really

  417. don't matter, that we wouldn't waste our lives on stuff

  418. that isn't going to last. And second, give us the

  419. faith and give us the courage to pray the most

  420. dangerous prayer in the world. Use me now, you talk

  421. to God. I mean, you know, it really doesn't matter

  422. what you say. Just say hey, hey, hey God. And

  423. what matters is being honest. If you don't even know

  424. if there is a God, say God, if you're real,

  425. make yourself real to me, and over time he will.

  426. God never turns down a genuine seeker. So just say,

  427. dear Gotta if you're not, if you're real, make yourself

  428. real to me. I want to know you, and if

  429. you love me, I want to learn to love you back.

  430. And I want to take the first step, the step

  431. of openness. And I pray this in sincerity is best

  432. I know how. Amen.
