Remember Your Blessings - May 25, 2025

As we're approaching Memorial Day weekend, I want us to remember our blessings.

We have been so, so blessed.

You are so blessed.

You and I, I mean, we are we are living the dream based on what other people have sacrificed so that we could be here today.

We are so rich, we are so blessed.

In fact, in Psalm 68, 19, I know you're in Psalm 103, but it says in Psalm 68.19, it says, Blessed be the Lord who daily, everybody say daily, daily loadeth us with benefits.

Even the God of our salvation, Selah.

You know, every single day you are so, so blessed.

You get 24 hours every day, you get new mercy every day.

I mean, you are blessed, blessed, blessed.

Can you hear me today?

I just want to make sure you got the message.

You are blessed.

You are so blessed.

In Psalms 103, it says this bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me.

Bless his holy name.

You know, I love walking into the church and seeing people bless God with all of their soul.

Now I know some of you guys, you don't like to move a little bit.

Like you kind of like this, you're like, this is how I bless the Lord with all my soul, you know.

But I like it when people kind of like they get right here and they're washing the window, and then some people got the, you know, uh the touchdown move, you know, but but the idea here is we need to enthusiastically and emotionally and earnestly bless God because he's been so good to us.

It says this in verse 2 bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

All his benefits.

You know, that word benefits, it means uh something good, advantageous, profit.

It's good news, it's a good word, it's it's some sort of advantage that God has given to you.

You know, as we were singing that last song, or Amos and the music team was singing it, my mind was going down memory lane.

And I was beginning to think about when I was saved.

I was beginning to think about the times that my children almost died and how God raised them up again.

I was remembering the times I got way deep into sin and almost died.

I got remembering the times when I was being attacked with a knife.

I remember the times of getting in automobile accidents.

I remember the time of almost destroying my life.

I was remembering the time of when uh grandparents almost died.

I got God, I was remembering times in the church when we had no money and we had no food in the cabinets, and all of a sudden God came along and just blessed us and healed us and helped us and encouraged us.

I was remembering the time when we didn't have a piano player, we didn't have any singers, we didn't have any musicians, we didn't have a facility, we didn't have a building.

I was remembering all those times.

And I think about where we're at today, and I think about what God has done, and it blesses my soul.

It really does.

You know, a lot of times we can look at what another church has and another family has, and we can think, oh, well, this is not that great.

No, no, you don't understand.

From where we came from, this is fantastic.

We all didn't come from the same place, friend.

Like some of us started a lot lower than other people, and I'm just grateful to the Lord.

I'm remembering his benefits.

And it says this, forget not all his benefits.

Hey, have you forgotten his benefits to you?

Have you forgotten how he saved your soul and how he loved you?

Have you forgotten the times when you opened your Bible and you had no peace, no joy within?

And all of a sudden the Holy Spirit just says, Hey, I got you.

I got you, I forgive you, I love you.

Hey, stop stressing, stop tripping.

It's okay.

Why let me wipe that tear off your eye?

Remember all of his benefits, all the times he showed up.

It goes on to say this in verse 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.

How many of y'all ever had a disease that you didn't thought was incurable?

How many remember a time, man, you couldn't move, you thought you were sick nigh unto death, and the Lord said, Nope, I got you, sister.

I got you.

Bam, up from the grave you arose, and God healed you and helped you and loved on you.

It goes on to say this in verse 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction?

You remember the time when you were deep in debt?

Remember the time when your spouse was about to leave you?

Remember the time when your kids were gone?

Remember the time when people were mad at you, friends that were saying all kinds of things about you, but he redeemeth thy life from destruction.

You remember that, don't you?

I mean, everything could have fallen apart, all of it.

But God showed up, God stabilized your life.

God redeemed you, who crowneth you with loving kindness and tender mercies.

He's like, not only do I do I save you, but I crown you.

You see, he's given you what you don't deserve.

He's crowned, listen, you are so blessed.

I don't think you guys are hearing me today.

You are so, so blessed.

You are so blessed.

You know, the scripture goes on to say this in verse 5 who satisfieth thy mouth with good things.

How many of y'all have some good food you've been eating?

Oh man, I've been eating some, yeah.

Come on, all that food, right?

I mean, you just talk about food and some people react with that thing.

You know, you talk about singing, some people they kind of get a little dance going.

You just never know when you're gonna hit that spot for somebody.

I'm telling you, God has blessed you with food all over the place, man.

We live next to Mexico, best Mexican food all around.

My friends hate it when they're living on the East Coast and Texas this and and and Florida that, whatever.

I got Mexican food.

And I got nice weather.

You go get all hot and sweaty.

I'm gonna be vibing by the beach with a carne asada brito.

We are blessed right here.

He satisfies thy mouth with good things, he renews your strength.

You say, preacher, give me some things I I need to be thinking about.

Well, number one, think about who paid for your success.

Think about this.

Who paid for your success?

Obviously, Jesus paid for your eternal salvation.

Your your how about your mama?

How about your daddy?

How about an auntie?

How about an uncle?

How about the teachers in your life?

How about the friends that paved the way, that poured in good stuff to you?

All I'm saying is remember them.

Think about our military.

Every time I'm out there surfing with the great white sharks and the dolphins, you know, and I see the drones.

You know what else I see out there?

I see those helicopters coming on by.

I see them out there, the military, like we are the protectors of you guys.

I'm like, yes! Look at that tomahawk missile right there.

Don't mess with us, right?

We are blessed.

Think about who's who sacrificed it all in the wars.

Think about all the wars that's led up to this point, and yet we get to go down the road, have these beautiful, beautiful, nice freeways, right?

And just cruise on by, have these nice places we can get food, beautiful church.

Think about who paid for your success.

And listen, I'm I get it.

Like we we all sacrifice, we all work, but it's not just you.

There's other people who contributed.

In Memorial Day weekend, we need to be thinking about them.

You know, Jesus said this greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

I'm glad for those who lay down their lives for me, for my family.

Right?

I mean, think about it.

Number two, think about where you live in the world.

We live in America.

We live in San Diego, the finest city on planet earth.

Think about where you live in the world.

You could have been anywhere.

You could have been in Africa, you could have been in China, you could have been in Russia, but for today, God puts you right here in San Diego, California.

You are blessed.

Turn to your neighbor and say, You're blessed to be here.

Hey, turn to your other neighbor and say, You're blessed that I'm here.

Yes.

Yes, yes, yes.

But number three, write this down.

Think about the time period in which you live.

Think about the time period in which you live.

You got running water, you got grocery stores.

I mean, you're not going out and killing the fatted calf every time you want a hamburger or a steak.

I mean, you're just gonna go right on down the street to the barbecue place and be like, give me that beef rib, baby.

Yeah.

You are blessed.

Maybe you got all the fruit that you want, just go right on over.

What's the the the place you get your fruit?

Sprouts.

Sprouts, there it is.

You get all the nuts in there and all your fruit.

I mean, you just walk right on it.

I'll think I'll take some of this and some of this.

You know, if you lived in Papua New Guinea where they're grinding up trees just to get a little bit of nutrients, all I'm saying is like, think about where you live and the time period.

Like you can get on a plane right now, and before you know it, you're in Japan.

You're in Africa, you're in China.

I mean, 12 hours, 13 hours, 14 hours, and boom, you're on the other side of the world.

Now all of a sudden you got your American get up, and all of a sudden, now you got your African getup on, right?

And you got all kinds of different food going.

Listen, all I'm saying is like you're blessed.

Right?

Like you get to, like, this is the best time period ever.

If you were born like three, four hundred years ago, you'd be going to the bathroom in some outhouse, some hole somewhere.

You got running water, you got grocery stores, you can learn whatever you want on your mobile device.

Come on.

All I'm saying is, like, don't forget how rich you are.

Sometimes you might look at your bank account, you're like, well, I'm poor, I'm poor.

No, you're not poor.

You're rich.

You live in the best time ever.

Think about the time period in which you live.

Number four, think about all your benefits.

I mean, you walked in today, maybe you had a cane, but you still walked in, right?

Coming on in.

I mean, you got eyes, and even if your eyes are getting bad, you got glasses.

I mean, you could look at look at your neighbor and be like, yeah, man, I can see you.

Listen, you'd give, you'd give people would give millions of dollars just for their eyes.

People give 50 grand, 50, I don't know how much money for your arm.

You got arms, you got legs, I mean, you could you could do all kinds of stuff.

All I'm saying is like, think about your benefits.

Here's what the devil wants to do to you.

He wants you to get you so focused on what you don't have and why your life is messed up and all your problems and get you fixated on what you can't have.

Listen, just like God put Adam and Eve in the garden and said, You could I hooked you up big time, Adam and Eve.

I give you all this.

Just don't go after this.

This is gonna mess up your life.

What does the devil do?

Listen, if God really loved you, he would give you.

Nah, he's a liar.

Don't listen to the devil.

Stop letting him spotlight what you can't have and what you don't have and what you missed out on, and let Jesus spotlight what you do have.

Let Jesus spotlight your blessings.

Amen.

That's why I like them songs.

Count your blessings, name them one by one.

Count your blessings, see what God hath done, right?

Count your blessings.

I mean, sit there and think about it.

That's why I like that song, 10,000 Reasons.

Bless the Lord on my soul, right?

Just start counting them up.

If you today, let's say you have a messed up attitude, let's say you're complaining, let's say things are falling apart.

Let's see, let's say somebody left you, everything's falling apart.

Here's what you do to change your life.

Start writing down all the good things in your life.

Tune into the frequency of the good that you want to receive.

Start taking inventory of all the positive things in your life and watch what happens.

Before you know it, you're gonna get your gide up back.

Before you know it, you're gonna be like, something's happening on the inside of me.

You're gonna start feeling positive again because of what you're thinking on.

Your thinking determines your attitude, and your attitude determines your actions, and your actions determines what's gonna happen in your life.

That's why the Bible says, get into the Word of God.

It's a lamp to our feet, a light unto our path.

You say, preacher, all right, let's talk about benefits.

Let's talk about benefits.

Tell me about my bennies, baby.

You ever get a job, you're like, okay, let's talk about the benefits, right?

You want to know what it is.

Well, think about some of these benefits.

First benefit, how about this?

Let's just let's go to the top.

Let's go right to the top.

First benefit is Christ.

Amen.

Let's talk about Jesus.

Give me Jesus.

Jesus all day, every day.

You got Jesus, amen.

How many of y'all are saved by the grace of God?

I mean, you've been born again, hallelujah.

Jesus, more than more than this, check this out.

Not only do I got Jesus, but better than that, Jesus has got me.

See, it's wonderful when you have something, but it's even better when Jesus has you.

I'm owned by him.

Listen, I'm gonna mess up my life.

How many of y'all ever tried to mess up your life?

Listen, I've tried to mess up my life, but you know what?

I got a savior who loves me and says, Hey, what are you doing, boy?

Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh.

We don't talk like that.

Uh-uh.

He don't mean that, right?

Come on over here, right?

I I've got Jesus, but more than that, Jesus has got me.

How many of y'all, Jesus, he's kept you out of trouble?

Come on.

He's kept you out of trouble, he's kept you from ruining your life, he's kept you from saying things and doing things and doing stuff that you're like you couldn't walk back.

First benefit is Jesus.

Man, I got Christ.

Number two, think about this benefit.

We hooked up, we're hooked up with the church.

We got a great church.

A lot of times people will go and listen, I'm four people.

If God wants you to move to another church, go, amen.

God bless you, I'm for you, right?

We can be brothers and sisters but not live in the same home.

Isn't that right?

We can be brothers and sisters and go to different churches.

The family of God is massive, it's big, it's all over the place.

But listen, let me tell you something.

A lot of times I'll hear people like, I went over, I can't find a good church.

You ever had people, you ever been looking for a church, you can't find a good church?

Good preaching, good Bible preaching, good singing, good soul winning, good all that kind of stuff.

Listen, I'm glad we got this church.

I'm glad you say, What do you mean, the building?

No, no, no.

Us, the people.

I'm glad I got a friend like Josh, and I'm glad I got I got a Jared, man.

I'm glad I got a G, amen.

Angelo over here.

I'm glad I've got a Claire up there singing, right?

I'm glad I got an Amos who will bust it out, you know, hitting them, hitting them numbers and hitting those spots.

I'm glad I got a Trevor, you know, getting that, going after it.

Or it's Nathan, you know what I meant, you know.

Hey, all I'm saying is we're blessed.

We're multi-generational, multicultural, multi-ethnic church that loves Jesus.

Doesn't matter what color you are, doesn't matter what background you got.

Listen, we love everybody.

I'm glad this is our church.

We got it going on.

Turn to your neighbor and say, we got it going on.

We got it going on.

We're hooked up.

That's a major benefit.

You know, there's people today, they loathe going to church.

They hate it.

Oh, I gotta be bored at church again.

I gotta just drag myself there.

It's boring.

Listen, nobody wants to go to a dead, dry, boring church.

I'm glad we got an alive God, an alive church, a live music, a live message.

We are blessed.

That's what I'm saying.

You say, what are some of the other benefits?

Hey, number three, scriptures.

We got the B-I-B-L-E, friend.

We got the scriptures, the B-I-B-L-E, the book, that's the book for me.

I stand alone on the word of God.

How many of you glad you got a Bible?

Man, that's the word of God.

It's a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

It's sharper than any two-edged sword.

You got the Bible.

Hey, turn to your neighbor and say, I got a Bible.

I got a Bible.

Every single day, I love my Bible.

I love it.

We got the Bible.

You say, what are another benefits about this number four, friend, uh uh, number four family?

How many of y'all got some family?

Now listen, I got some crazy family, I got some good family.

How many of y'all got some crazy family?

How many of you crazy family sitting right next?

Don't put that up.

Alright?

Hey, but listen, but we got family.

We got family.

I'm thankful for my family.

I'm thankful for the good, the bad, and the ugly.

If there was no ugly people, listen, you wouldn't know what good looking is.

Thank God there's some uglies out there.

They bless them, but they make up with some other areas, some smarts, right?

It's a blessing.

We balance this thing out.

We got family.

We're blessed with family.

Number five, friends.

How many of y'all got some good friends?

Man, I got some good friends.

You know how you can tell you got good friends, they'll clown on you.

Right?

They'll roast you in a quick hurry.

I'm glad to be roasted.

I'm glad people can clown on me.

I know there's a lot to clown it with here, right here, okay?

Being a little oompa loompa, shorter than others, you know, trying hard, small man's.

I got all that, right?

But I'm glad I got some friends.

Well, we can go out to eat, we can fellowship, we can we can have a great time.

Think about your friends that love you, that care about you.

You are blessed.

Write this down, number six.

How about work?

Trabajar.

You got some work.

If I could say it in another language, I would, but I'm too close to Mexico.

That's the only language I got.

You got work.

You got blessed with work, the ability to go to work, to make wealth, to add value, to encourage one another.

Listen, even if you lost it all, let's say you lost all your money, but you still got some physical health and you could go to work, you're blessed.

You live in America right now.

Listen, you go down the street, they're they're hiring somewhere.

If you really want a job, you put yourself out there, you're gonna find it.

Even if you got to get rid of all your doodads and all your cars and all of your houses and all your liabilities, you can start from the ground up and reach all the way back up to the top again.

How many of y'all know what I'm talking about?

Because work is there.

It is there.

You have so many benefits.

Number seven, I love this one.

America.

Hey, God bless America.

How many of you are thankful to live in America?

Sometimes I'll see people like, well, I'm gonna fly this flag of some other nation.

I'm like, listen, if you love that country so much, why don't you go there?

Take that flag and you go live over there for a little while.

I'm for reaching all the nations, amen.

I'm for loving everybody.

But listen, I'm glad to be an American.

I'm glad for the Constitution, I'm glad for the Bill of Rights, I'm glad for the First Amendment, I'm glad for the Second Amendment, I'm glad that I got my guns, right?

I'm liking it.

I like to go out and shoot my guns.

I like to be able to have freedom of speech.

I like the idea that, listen, you don't get to cancel me just because you don't like what I say.

Now you can walk away, but you don't get to mute me.

God gave me a mouth and I intend to use it.

That's America.

That's America.

That's America.

Listen, I got social media, I got, I got all, I'm gonna use this mouth for the glory of God.

And I got people, listen, they don't agree with me, but they still fight for me.

There's some people out there on the military, there's some people out there, the police.

Listen, they're fighting for me even though they may not agree with all my ideology.

That's what makes America great.

This Memorial Day, as we're thinking about our benefits, think about those who died.

Think about those who died, who gave it all just so you could be here today to express your freedom of speech, your freedom of religion.

You are blessed.

You are so, so blessed.

God bless America.

Number eight, you know what else I'm thankful for for the benefits?

Health.

How many of y'all got some health?

Yeah, you got some health.

Y'all, you're here today, right?

You now I know some of you like, I don't have the health like I used to.

My back.

My back.

Or maybe it's my hip, right?

Or maybe it's my eye, right?

Listen, this thing's gonna fall apart eventually, right?

The whole thing's gonna fall apart.

But you got enough health to be here today.

How many of y'all can hear me right now?

You got those ears right now?

You think about those ears.

There's like little hairs inside those ears that are hearing my voice.

It's coming through the ear, and those ears are doing something with the hair inside the ears, and somehow, some way the message is getting across.

And I can tell because you're laughing, you're receiving it.

That's health.

You are healthy, you are blessed, you are wealthy, you're encouraged.

The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and he addeth no sorrow with it.

All I'm saying is don't walk around focused on, well, you know what, everything's falling apart, and poor me and complaining.

Listen, nobody wants to be around a complainer all day long.

How many of you ever been the complainer?

Come on, come on, you've been the complainer.

How many of you are sitting next to the complainer?

No, he finally left.

No, just kidding.

Listen, don't let complain a complaining spirit and cynicism rob you of the power of God in hope.

Because Jesus gives us hope.

And as long as there's hope in Christ, listen, we've got a bright future.

We've got a bright, you say, what's the future look like?

Bright.

Amen.

The best is yet to come.

The path of the just, it shineth more and more into the perfect day.

We're going to heaven, friend.

We're going to glory, and Jesus is leading the way.

We've got so many things to be thankful for.

Makes me want to sing.

If I could sing, I'd bust out a song right now.

Ain't God good to give us so many blessings.

I lost my message.

Some of you are like, yes.

Hey, you got health.

Don't focus on the health you don't have, focus on the health that you do have.

Amen.

Listen, I got a big old bunion on that left toe.

It hurts like crazy, right?

So when I'm running on my marathons, it's like, and I'm not focused on that.

I'm like thinking, I got the cheetah side doing good right here.

You know, you know.

You just don't focus on the fault.

You yeah, okay, and listen, as you get older, you gotta make adjustments.

What you what worked when you're 20s doesn't work in your 50s.

I'm not 50 yet, but they tell me it doesn't work when you're 50s.

Right?

But you gotta make adjustments.

What you ate when you're 20, you're gonna change when you're when you're 40.

You make adjustments as is needed for your health.

This is not a one size fits all, everyone does the same thing.

You gotta make the adjustments.

Turn to your neighbor and say, make the adjustments.

Yeah.

I'm gonna make the adjustments.

Why?

Because we're blessed.

Hallelujah.

On my worst day, I'm blessed.

On my best day, I'm blessed.

I'm so blessed, I'm so blessed.

I got this heartbeat in my chest.

Come on.

We are blessed.

That's all I'm saying.

You say, What was the message about today, preacher?

Blessed.

With a capital B.

Remember.

Remember your blessings, remember your benefits.

You say, what else, preacher?

What else are our benefits?

Number nine, opportunities.

We got some opportunities ahead of us.

We got the best summer ever planned.

How many of y'all got the best summer ever?

Everybody should be going like this.

Yes.

Yeah.

Best summer.

Yeah, there you go, Sister Florence.

Listen, Sister Florence is almost a hundred, and she's like, yes.

She's about to have the best summer of her life.

And some of you are 23 years old, like, eh, eh, eh.

All I'm saying is an attitude.

It's an attitude.

You got opportunities in front of you.

You got doors open in front of you.

You got God.

You have so many blessings to be thankful and grateful for.

Last one, number 10, and I'm finished.

And then we got a baptism to do in a little bit, okay?

You're like, that's it.

Yep, that's right.

That's why you like me.

I come back after preaching.

I've been gone a week, and I give you a 25-minute message.

You're like, yes.

Number 10, heaven.

You say, what do you mean, heaven?

I'm glad I'm going to heaven.

I'm so glad I'm not going to hell.

I'm glad I'm not going to burn in a lake of fire where there's weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I'm glad my sins are forgiven.

I'm glad I'm going to be with God, friend.

I'm going to heaven.

How many of y'all are going to heaven?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

If that don't fire you up, listen, you got to get saved.

You got to get saved.

I'm telling you, get born again.

Get your sins forgiven.

Be with Jesus.

And I tell you what, heaven, when I read in the Bible, woo! No more pain, no more aches, no more problems.

I'm gonna be able to have good eyes again.

I'm gonna be able to hear real good.

I'm gonna be six foot five.

It's gonna be great.

Well, it doesn't say that, but I hope to be, you know.

I don't know.

I'm gonna get a new body, it's gonna be a glorified body, not the dwarf one, but I want the regular size one, Jesus, okay?

But until then, you know, he puts more power on the faint and the little things.

I hope.

I don't know.

But I'm thankful we're going to heaven.

And I want to take as many people as we possibly can with us.

Right?

I want everybody to get forgiveness.

In fact, if you're in here today and you're like, preacher, if I died today, I'm not 100% sure I'd go to heaven.

Let me encourage you.

Today's the day to get saved.

Today's the day you can say, God, please forgive me of my sins.

I don't want to carry all these weights and sins and shames with me any longer.

Just give them to them.

And realize Jesus died for you.

He paid for your sins, and three days later, after he died, he rose again and he is alive and he will forgive you and give you heaven.

Amen.

That's the best message, right?

Anybody in here can go to heaven.

Anybody, if you'll just confess your sins and say, Please, Jesus, I confess I'm a sinner, save me.

Everybody say, Save me.

You ask Jesus to save you, and boom, shaka laka, you will be saved just like that.

That's how it works.

I was 15 years old when I got born again.

And once you get born again, you don't ever get unborn.

Amen.

That's why when people say, Are you ready?

I always tell people, I was born again ready.

Right away.

Once I got saved, I'm always ready.

And I love Jesus and I love going to heaven.

And so today, let's wrap this up.

We'll pray.

We got a lot to give God some thanks over, don't we?

Hopefully, this is a little attitude adjustment, a little mental kind of change where you're like, Yep, you know what?

I am blessed.

And so think about who paid for your success.

Think about where you live in the world, think about the time period in which you live, think about all your benefits.

You are blessed.

Turn your neighbor and say, You're mega blessed.

That's right.

Let's go to the Lord in prayer.
