  3. speakers all over the Philippines. We hope that this podcast

  4. finds you in good shape. And now here's your message.

  5. We are concluding our series entitled Perspective. Perspective is our

  6. point of view with regards to things, with regards to

  7. our life, and one of the important things as people

  8. of God that we need to have is his perspective

  9. or how he sees us and life, so that we'll

  10. be able to go back to His will and to

  11. go back and live our lives with that right perspective.

  12. I like this quote by Ravi Shakarias who said this,

  13. if we don't have a transcendent perspective or a godly

  14. perspective in life, at the end of it, you'lly that

  15. it was all meaningless. That just like how I saw

  16. Ravi live for the first and last time he attended.

  17. He was one of the speakers in the National Bible

  18. Day here in the Philippines, and I'll never forget what

  19. he said that people today are concerned about what is

  20. on the right or on the left. The opinion of

  21. this group versus this group. Where do I stand? Do

  22. I stand on the light, on the right side of

  23. life or on the left side of life? But the

  24. reality is what is important is not where we are

  25. on the left or on the right, but the relationship

  26. that we have up and down. What does that mean

  27. that in life we need to have We need to

  28. be concerned about our relationship with our heavily Father first,

  29. because that is the most important relationship that we can

  30. cultivate here on earth. It is a preparation of a

  31. life in eternity. And so I believe that God wants

  32. to give us the right perspective, that a godly perspective

  33. of how we should live our lives. And we are

  34. continuing and concluding Psalms twenty three a song of David

  35. which is entitled the Lord is My Shepherd, and we

  36. will go through the last two verses, verse five and six.

  37. It starts verse one, the Lord is my shepherd. I

  38. shall not want. In other versions it says I will

  39. lack nothing. It is God who completes us. It is

  40. a God who provides for us, who gives us peace.

  41. And this is what we talked about a few weeks

  42. ago and today we will focus on verse five and six.

  43. It says, verse five, you prepare a feast for me

  44. in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by

  45. anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.

  46. And in verse six it says, surely your goodness and

  47. unfailing love will pursue me all the day of my life,

  48. and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Lord,

  49. thank you that as you speak to us today with

  50. these two powerful verses on how David concludes this song

  51. that he has written, Lord, allow it to minister to us,

  52. Allow it to sing deep Lord this two verses, allow

  53. it to take root in our hearts, that we'll be

  54. able to live it out in our lives today, or

  55. thank you. As David has written this song, it will

  56. minister to us wherever we are today annoying the preaching

  57. of your word in Jesus name, Amen and Amen. As

  58. we go through these two verses, it starts with this,

  59. you prepare a feast for me. The Lord prepares something

  60. for us, a feast. In the message version, it actually says,

  61. you serve me a six course dinner. What does that

  62. mean when we look at the whole story of Psalms

  63. twenty three. You have to understand David was writing this

  64. song as he would probably was going through one of

  65. the biggest trials of his life. That he was going

  66. through a crisis, and that's why the previous verses would say,

  67. though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

  68. I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

  69. It's a picture of a life in crisis. It's a

  70. picture of a life in a trial, in anxiety, or

  71. probably in hopelessness. But David the writer goes back and says,

  72. the Lord is my shepherd, and God prepares a feast

  73. for me in the presence of my enemies. What does

  74. that mean? You know? I realized this as I was

  75. reflecting on these two verses, that crisis destroys order in

  76. our lives. That whenever we go through trials and crisis,

  77. it seems that we can't function properly. It seems that

  78. we can't do what we used to do. One of

  79. the songs that I became to recall because of this

  80. preaching is one of the Opim songs, which says di matulo,

  81. let me bring song on. I think Doody knows that

  82. Matulo di mahayan, the Kiaowa's alone, the Gama dami. Anyway,

  83. that's the reality. When we are in crisis. We can't sleep,

  84. we can't eat, we can function. It disrupts our lives

  85. and we can't get back white because we are consumed

  86. by problems, anxiety, hopelessness. We are worried. And I experienced

  87. this when I went through a health crisis when I

  88. was in Sibu. It was way back, and I believe

  89. God was with me during that time. He held my

  90. hand all throughout. But I was so consumed by the

  91. troubles I forgot about how big my God is. I

  92. actually lost weight so much, I actually couldn't function whenever

  93. Pamu talked to me, paragum zombie, you know she can't

  94. talk to me. I just have that black stare. I'm

  95. consumed about the problem or my personal crisis. But the

  96. word of God reminds us of this truth. Today. He says,

  97. I prepare a feast. God prepares a feast even in trial.

  98. God is preparing something for us in times of trial.

  99. It's a picture of God blessing us continually, even in crisis.

  100. Try to reflect for the past seventy days haven't you

  101. experienced the blessing of God? Haven't you felt that you

  102. are still blessed despite all this. I believe God is

  103. reminding us that He is preparing something for us. Even

  104. in trials, the Lord blesses us. And that's why I

  105. like the following statement. It says, he prepares a feast

  106. in the presence of my enemies. It's a picture of

  107. God in control. He's not afraid of them. That's one. Secondly,

  108. he won't back down on them. Saman Balaya. I will

  109. prepare a feast for my children because I love them

  110. so much. Yes, I am allowing them to go through

  111. this trial, but at the same time I will bless them.

  112. There's a picture of God who is controlled, an all

  113. powerful God that the enemy can't do anything about it.

  114. When God wants to bless us, it's regardless of what

  115. we are going through. God can bless you today. He

  116. is preparing something for you today. It follows it by

  117. you honor me by anointing my head with oil. You know,

  118. when you visit a Hebrew house during that time, when

  119. you're invited for dinner, as soon as you get there,

  120. they would take care of you. They would serve you,

  121. and they would put oil. Why because chimpreno, it's a

  122. dusty road among concrete roads during that time, and so

  123. when you would go there, you're all dusty, amarao and oil.

  124. So they would put oil to refresh you, not only

  125. to make the room smell good, but it would actually

  126. make you feel better. It's a picture of the guest

  127. or the house blessing the guests, preparing the guests, and

  128. even us when we are going through crisis, when we

  129. go back to the Lord, it reminds us of who

  130. we are. When we go do our devotions, we cry

  131. out to the Lord. What happens, God reminds us of

  132. who we are, and then we are blessed. God is

  133. reminding you today that and in times of crisis. You know,

  134. this pandemic might be a very personal crisis for you today.

  135. I believe the Lord is telling you that I am

  136. preparing a blessing for you, that I will annoint you,

  137. that I will lift your head up. Because this is

  138. who our God is, a God who desires to bless

  139. us even in times of crisis. And that's why David

  140. could say this, my cup overflows with blessings. You know,

  141. during this time of pandemic will realize that for the

  142. past seventy days, YO EXTA thank you for listening. We

  143. hope that you enjoy today's episode. Don't forget to share

  144. and subscribe to this podcast for more. God bless you all.
