  5. And now here's your message.

  6. Lasting joy, Hallelujah. And this is a message that actually

  7. I was going to share on Wednesday night, and as

  8. I got it ready, I just really felt impressed with

  9. the Lord to share it today. So did some switching

  10. and just as I prayed about it, felt like Lloyd said, no,

  11. that's for Sunday. Now on Wednesday night, I want to

  12. continue this. I think it's going to be a series

  13. ensem one because there's all I can really do is

  14. introduce it this morning. This is such a powerful psalm.

  15. It's one of my favorite songs, one of my favorite

  16. passages in the Bible, and there's so much truth in here.

  17. We'll be able to kind of introduce it today and

  18. outline it, but we'll get more in depth to it

  19. and plumb the depths of it. And I think as

  20. you hear it'll become one of your favorite passages and

  21. one of your favorite psalms. So i'd encourage you to

  22. come on Wednesday night, or get the CDs or listen

  23. to it online, because there's just some tremendous revelation, knowledge

  24. and truth in here. I want to first start out

  25. by talking about or mentioning a word, cynicism. We're talking

  26. about the secret of lasting joy. The opposite of that

  27. could be termed citicism cynicism. Lloyd Ogilvie said it this way.

  28. We'll have the quote on the screen. He said, Cynicism

  29. is addictive. It begins with negativism, grows into a critical

  30. attitude and becomes a settled personality trait. We all suffer

  31. this debilitating, virulent poison to some degree. The opposite of

  32. joy is not glumness, it's cynicism. You know, in these

  33. times in which we live and all the things we're facing,

  34. do you ever feel that trying to creep on you? Negativism,

  35. a critical attitude, and God forbid it becoming a settled

  36. personality trait? He says. We all suffer from it in

  37. one degree or another. So we want to guard against that.

  38. What issm cynicism? It's almost epidemic these days, it seems

  39. it's current times we are in the definition of cynicism,

  40. is this skepticism, pessimism, sarcasm, disbelief, doubt, mistrust, a scornful

  41. or jaded negativity, a general distrust of others' motives. So

  42. if you find yourself identifying with any of those, which

  43. is easy to do in these times, I mean, I

  44. talk to people and you can pick up cynicism. But

  45. if you sense any that skepticism, pessimism, sarcasm, disbelief, doubt, mistrust, scornful,

  46. jaded negativity, a general distrust of others and their motives,

  47. then this message is for you today. We're going to

  48. look at the secret of lasting joy and just the

  49. cynicism seems rampant today almost everywhere you look. Along with it,

  50. there's another thing that you can pick up is depression

  51. and sadness and gloominess, hopelessness and misery, just the general

  52. state of unhappiness in some people. And those things can

  53. be deadly. The question is is there an antidote? Does

  54. God provide a remedy? Should it surprise us that he does.

  55. There is a remedy to cynicism, to depression, to these things,

  56. and it works. So we're going to discover the day

  57. the secret of lasting joy? Is there a three thousand

  58. year old key embedded in the ancient scriptures. That is

  59. the secret of lasting happiness, true blessing and continuing joy

  60. and prosperity. It's been there for three thousand years. Many

  61. have discovered it, many are unaware of it. A three

  62. thousand year old secret, if you would, embedded in the

  63. ancient scriptures, just waiting to be discovered. Henry Ward Beecher

  64. said this, the cynic is one who never sees a

  65. good quality in a man and never fails to see

  66. a bad one. That defines a cynic pretty well. I

  67. think I should put that quote up there. If you

  68. got that, it should be up there. The cynic is

  69. one who never sees a good quality in a man

  70. and never fails to see a bad one. And then

  71. Robert Lewis Stevenson said this, to lose joy is to

  72. lose everything. To lose joy is to lose everything. So

  73. let's look at the secret of lasting joy and blessedness.

  74. And this three thousand year old key is right here

  75. in Psalm one, familiar psalm to many. But you know,

  76. sometimes we can be so familiar with things that we

  77. don't really grasp the fullness of them. He starts out

  78. by saying, blessed is the man or the woman. Blessed

  79. is the man or the woman, and then he goes

  80. on to describe the state of blessedness. He gives us

  81. three negatives, two positives, one result in four characteristics or

  82. lasting fruit. He says, the blessed person is one who

  83. does not do three things, does do two things, and

  84. he becomes something with someone with four amazing results. Let's

  85. first look at this word blessed, blessed is the man blessed.

  86. It's the Hebrew wordes share e s h e r,

  87. and it means blessed, happy and favored, blessed happy, in favored.

  88. I think everybody wants to be blessed, wants to be happy,

  89. wants to be favored. Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old Testament

  90. Works word says this word a shaer connotes the state

  91. of prosperity or happiness that comes when it's superior. In

  92. this case, it be Yahweh bestows his favor his blessing

  93. on one, and that would be us. Blessed is the man.

  94. Blessed is the man a Hebrew reads more, Oh, the

  95. blessednesses or the happiness is It's a plural. Oh, the

  96. blessedness is the happiness is of the man of the

  97. woman who doesn't do these three things and does do

  98. these two things, and he becomes or she becomes an

  99. amazing testimony of what God can do in a person's life.

  100. A share blessed or happy. Remember in Genesis. I've just

  101. been reading in Genesis in my one year Bible. And Leah,

  102. the one of the wives of Jacob, gave birth to

  103. a child, and she said, I am happy for the

  104. daughters will call me blessed. So she called his name Asher,

  105. from the same word here escher Asher. She said, I'm happy,

  106. I'm blessed. So she called her son's name Asher because

  107. Asher means happy, it means blessed. It's interesting this word,

  108. Hebrew word when you look at the etymology of it

  109. and the words that it's the pictures that it comes from,

  110. because Hebrew words also have a numerical value and a

  111. pictorial value. If you would and this word share pictures.

  112. A cord pulled tightly, A chord pulled tightly, straight or firm,

  113. like a chord of a or a rope on a

  114. tent that's pulled tightly to secure that tent. Hence this

  115. from the Complete Word Study Dictionary. This will be on

  116. the screen. Also, it defineses share this way as one

  117. who is happy is one whose life is lived straightly

  118. and firmly, holds to the truth, pulled a chord, pulled,

  119. firm and straight, he says. The Sphere to God says,

  120. the secret to happiness, blessedness, favor, prosperity is to live

  121. our lives in a straight and firm way, holding to

  122. the truth. And you'll be a share, You'll be blessed,

  123. you'll be happy. It goes on to say blessed is

  124. frequently connected to wisdom. We can see that in proverbs,

  125. especially the more wisdom we get, the more blessed we

  126. will become, and is used to describe not only a

  127. person but a nation. A nation can be blessed. Blessed

  128. is the nation whose God is the Lord. So people can,

  129. individuals can be blessed, nations can be blessed. It's usual

  130. to describe a person or nation who enjoys a relationship

  131. with God. So in simplest form, to be blessed is

  132. to enjoy a relationship with God. And you're blessed. Whether

  133. we know it or not. We are blessed if we

  134. enjoy a relationship with God. Now there's a lot of

  135. aspects of blessing. Are A tory in his Topical textbook

  136. lists forty three characteristics of the blessed from scripture. This

  137. forty three different scripture passages that identify and define the blessed.

  138. So there's a lot involved in that. But what the

  139. writer of Psalms here says, which may theorize, was David.

  140. What this psalm lets us know really covers a lot

  141. of those forty three different things I looked at all,

  142. and we're not going to go over them today, but

  143. a lot of them are covered. And right here in

  144. what Psalm one says, the word also means or speaks

  145. of one who chooses to live a significant life. A

  146. blessed person is one who chooses to live a significant life.

  147. If we do that, we will be blessed. Now look

  148. at the amplified the amplified Bible. For Psalm one starts out,

  149. bess happy, fortunate, prosperous, and to be envied is the

  150. man is the woman blessed? How many of us would

  151. like to be blessed? Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and even envied

  152. in a good sense. Well, that's what he's about to

  153. tell us. In fact, that Hebrew reads blessed is that

  154. man that woman who does not do three things, does

  155. do two things. That's that embedded key in scripture. So

  156. we look at three negatives, two positives, one result, and

  157. four amazing outcomes. Now, why would God give us three negatives?

  158. Because there are blessing blockers, there are joy stealers, and

  159. we have to guard against those and fight against those.

  160. And then the positives, there are blessing enhancers and joy

  161. providers that we want to embrace. So let's look at him.

  162. Let's go here, let's go on here. He says, blessed

  163. is the man or that man who walks not in

  164. the council of the ungodly, nor stands in the path

  165. of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

  166. So he says, the blessed person does not do three things.

  167. He walks not, he stands not, and he sits not.

  168. He does not walk, he does not sit stand, and

  169. he does not sit. He does not walk in the

  170. council of the ungodly, he does not stand in the

  171. path of sinners, and he does not sit in the

  172. seat of the scornful, so that the council of the ungodly,

  173. the path of sinners, the seat of the scornful. That

  174. can take many forms. And we are inundated with that

  175. kind of information because of the proliferation of twenty four

  176. to seven news in the Internet and all kinds like

  177. the video we saw to start this. I mean, there's

  178. a lot of scorn and mocking and different things out there,

  179. especially against I heard on Christian radio yesterday they're talking

  180. about the modern day war on Christianity. They said, there's

  181. so many Christians being even killed around the world, they

  182. can't even number them. It's a battle. But just even

  183. in our own lives, we have to guard against walking

  184. in the council of the ungodly, standing in the path

  185. of sinners, or sitting in the seat of the scornful.

  186. And notice this person that if we don't guard against that,

  187. we start out walking, then all of a sudden you're standing,

  188. then you're sitting. Goes from action to passivity to even worse,

  189. go from walking to just standing to now just sitting.

  190. Now here's the good news. We don't have to walk

  191. in the council of the godly. We can walk in

  192. the council of the Almighty. Hallelujah. We can walk in

  193. the council of the Godly. We can go to the

  194. Word of God and get the counsel of the Almighty.

  195. We can be around Christians and believers and feed on

  196. good Christian material and get the counsel of the godly. Hallelujah.

  197. We don't have to stand in the way of sinners. Rather,

  198. we can stand in the way of the righteous. We're

  199. doing that today. That's why we need to be in church,

  200. to be in the company of the righteous. You know,

  201. somebody said, you can be a Christian without going to church,

  202. but you're not going to be a strong Christian, a

  203. successful Christian, a victorious Christian without going to church. We

  204. need the body. We need to not stand in the

  205. seat of the scornful or in the path of sinners.

  206. We need to stand in the path of the righteous.

  207. And then we don't have to sit in the seat

  208. of the scornful. We can sit in the seat of

  209. the respectful, the reverential, which is the opposite of scorn.

  210. Respect and reverence. We need that today, a respect and

  211. a reverence, and we as the people of God, that's

  212. what should mark us that we heed the counsel of

  213. the almighty, heed the counts of the godly. We walk

  214. in the way of the righteous, and we sit in

  215. the seat of the respectful and the reverential. We choose

  216. to live a significant life. That's how one paraphrase of

  217. this psalm is blessed is the one who chooses to

  218. live a significant life. We on purpose choose to live

  219. a significant life, not going to be content, to walk

  220. in the council of being godly, to stand in the

  221. path of sinners, to sit in the seat of the scornful.

  222. Now you might say, well, pastor tim, you're describing my workplace.

  223. I know it can be that. But we are to

  224. be salt, we are to be light, and just because

  225. others do doesn't mean we have to we that's our

  226. mission field. Oftentimes our workplace for most people is their

  227. mission field. So we need to stand out. We need

  228. to be salt and light. We need to choose to

  229. live a significant life. So the first thing the Psalmist

  230. tells us is if we're going to be blessed, we

  231. need to be separated from the world. Separated from the world.

  232. Then he tells us, if we're going to be blessed.

  233. We not only need to be separated from the world.

  234. We need to be saturated with the word. Saturated with

  235. the word Verse two. But his delight? Whose delight? The

  236. blessed man, the blessed woman? Their delight is in the

  237. law of the Lord, and in his law. He met

  238. tates or she meditates day and night, saturated with the word,

  239. and as a result they are blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous,

  240. and to be envied. Separated from the world, saturated with

  241. the word produces blessing, happiness, prosperity, favor and blessing. It's

  242. the word of the Lord. It is written, and it

  243. can't be changed. So three things not to do. We

  244. need to look at who are our mentors, Who are

  245. we listening to? Who are we reading after? What kind

  246. of books, kind of articles? What kind of programming are

  247. we listening to? Who are our mentors? And we choose,

  248. We make a decision. This is young people especially, This

  249. is so important you choose good mentors. But it applies

  250. to all ages. I was thinking of Coulton, though I

  251. know he's not here today, but I was thinking, you know,

  252. I would say he's blessed. You know, and he's in

  253. church regularly. He's not here today. I know what's going on,

  254. but anyway, he's okay. But I see on his Instagram

  255. posts he posts things he's dreamed by Francis Chan and

  256. following Tim Tebow and that he's following good mentors. And

  257. that's so important that we follow good mentors because that's

  258. what's going to produce fruit in our lives. That's what

  259. we're going to that's what's going to shape us, old us.

  260. So three things not to do because there are things

  261. that are joy stealers and blessing blockers and you got

  262. to fight against those. I mean, just sharing this message

  263. this week, I had a joy stealer. I had to

  264. fight against Well, how do you you know? Because the

  265. devil comes to steal the seed, So how do you

  266. fight against it by holding faster the truths or the

  267. word of God. Sickness can be a joy stealer. People

  268. can be joy stealers. Circumstances, situations, just looking at the news,

  269. things going on to those can all be joy stealers.

  270. And we got to guard ourselves and actually fight against them.

  271. On the other hand, there are joy enhancers and blessing

  272. providers and those are the things we need to go after,

  273. such as saturing ourselves with a word. But then also

  274. good mentors, choosing to listen to good music, read good articles,

  275. have good godly friends. I mean, you can get around

  276. some people that are just so negative and so pessimistic,

  277. and they'll start to rub off on you after a while.

  278. You can't not saying you can't be a friend to them,

  279. but they're not the best people to be in close

  280. relationship with and spend a lot of time with because

  281. that's going to rub off. So three things not to do,

  282. and then these two things to do. Number one, delight

  283. in the law of the Lord, the blessed man, and

  284. these are blessing bringers, if you would, these are joy providers.

  285. Number one, delight in the law of the Lord. The

  286. two positives. The blessed man, the blessed woman delights in

  287. the law of the Lord. Think of that word delight.

  288. We delight in a lot of things, but do we

  289. delight in the law of the Lord. The blessed person

  290. delights in the law of the Look. He or she

  291. finds pleasure in reading, studying, and obeying God's word. The

  292. blessed person finds pleasure in reading the word of God,

  293. studying the word of God, and obeying the word of

  294. I say obeying because in the Hebrew, the idea of

  295. study implies obedience. The Hebrew concept is you haven't studied

  296. if you haven't obeyed. People that just study and have

  297. head knowledge but don't do it, they haven't studied. It

  298. implies obedience. So the blessed person the person that has

  299. pleasure in reading, studying, and obeying the word of the Lord,

  300. God's word, and it can be such a joy, such

  301. a pleasure. They delight in the Torah t o r

  302. a H, the Torah of Yahweh. You've heard that word,

  303. the Torah. The Jews still use it. But that's not

  304. just speaking of the law as it's translated here. The

  305. idea of the Torah speaks of the precepts, instructions, and

  306. teachings of God. It's all of scripture, all of scripture.

  307. It's not just the law. It's like, boy, you know,

  308. if I just looked at the Law and Leviticus, I'm

  309. supposed to delight in that. It's talking about all of scripture.

  310. Delight in it, enjoy studying it, enjoy reading it, studying it,

  311. obeying it. Meditating on it, and you'll be blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous,

  312. and envied. This has been around for thousands of years,

  313. and thousands and possibly millions of people have put it

  314. to practice, acted on it, and discovered it to be

  315. the discovered it to be, so I, for one, can testify.

  316. Many of you can testify. I have found this to

  317. be true, to lead to the blessed life. As I

  318. did not do these three things and did these two things,

  319. I've discovered the blessed life, blessed, happy. I'm a happy,

  320. happy man. Mellelujah, blessed, happy, fortunate, consider myself very fortunate,

  321. very favored, Glory to God, prosperous, hallelujah. And I'll leave

  322. the envy off because that sounds prideful there. But like

  323. Jamie and I, a lot of people envous for a

  324. good look. So but I'll leave it at that. Michelle

  325. said he does the same thing Dad does. He stands

  326. in the mirror and says he, I get better looking

  327. every day. Some of us got and we can't get

  328. rid of it, right, Jamie, you can't help ourselves. That's right.

  329. One person describes it this way. For delight in the

  330. law of the Lord, They said, his ultimate concern is

  331. the will of God. His ultimate concern is the will

  332. of God. What does it mean to delight in the

  333. law of the Lord. For our ultimate concern to be

  334. the will of God? That person is better if you

  335. and I are ultimate concern is what is the will

  336. of God in this? In my marriage and my family,

  337. and my finances, and my job and my decisions I make,

  338. and my spending and my viewing habits, all these things,

  339. what is the will of God? That's my ultimate concern.

  340. I'll be blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envy. Now blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous,

  341. to be envied. What does that spell joy? Joy? Blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous,

  342. and to be envy spells joy. That's why I say

  343. this is the secret to continual joy, delight in the

  344. Law of the Lord. In the second positive second thing,

  345. the blessed person does he or she meditates in it

  346. day and night. To meditate in the Word of God

  347. day and night. Now, to meditate in the Hebrew is

  348. not just like modern day meditation. But it means to ponder,

  349. to go over and over in your mind, to mutter,

  350. to speak, the word of God. Lay in your bed

  351. at night before you go to sleep, and meditate the

  352. Word of God. Think about it throughout the day when

  353. you face a decision, Think what would Jesus do? What

  354. does the scripture say? When somebody tells you something, run

  355. it through the filter. What saith the scriptures? Is that

  356. in the scriptures? Is that what the Bible says? Because

  357. a lot of people tell you things and may try

  358. and make it sound like it's in the Bible, they

  359. don't have a scripture for it. I mean I've asked

  360. people before it really, well, what scripture is that? Well,

  361. I don't know. It's in there somewhere. You can't go

  362. by that. A lot of people say things that sound

  363. scripture that aren't scripture. You know, there's a term and

  364. a New Testament in the Greek pseudo logos. Logos is

  365. the word of God. But there's a term about speaking

  366. of a word in the New Testament pseudo logosi. It

  367. looks like the word sounds like the word, it's not

  368. the word. That's why we need to delight in it

  369. and meditate in it so we know what the word

  370. says and we will be blessed, happy fortune, prosperous and envied.

  371. So we meditate in it day and night. Our ultimate

  372. concern is the will of God. One paraphrase says this,

  373. he makes his daily decisions in respect to the word

  374. of God. The blessed man or blessed woman makes their

  375. daily decisions in respect to the word of God. Does

  376. this line up with scripture? I mean sometimes you hear

  377. people say, well, I know what the Bible says, but no,

  378. we can't do that. I know what the Bible says,

  379. so that's what I need to do. Not well, the

  380. Bible says that, but I'm going to do it anyway.

  381. But I think this sometimes you talk to people, well,

  382. brother Tim, I know the Bible says that, but this

  383. is what I believe. What There is no second Bible.

  384. So we delight in the law of the Lord. We

  385. meditate in a day and night. We don't walk in

  386. the councilors. Then God, we don't stand away since we

  387. don't sit in the sea. It are scornful and we

  388. will be blessed, happy, fortunate, envied. Now these three negatives

  389. and two positives add up to one result. Says in

  390. verse three, he shall be like a tree. He shall

  391. be like a tree. She shall be like a tree.

  392. It said, our lives will be like a tree, solid, stable,

  393. fixed withstands the storms. And this is no ordinary tree,

  394. as we're about to see. This is a tree that

  395. has four amazing characteristics. But that is the result of

  396. the three negatives, the two positives, the result or what

  397. we become. Three things we don't do, two things we do.

  398. And this is what we become, like a tree. And

  399. here's the four amazing outcomes or fruit that results from

  400. doing what we just read. Number one, we are planted.

  401. Number two, we are fruit bearing, Number three we are

  402. never dry, and number four we prosper whatever whatever. Yeah,

  403. but the economy and yeah, this is going on word

  404. whatever we prosper. I'd sure like that. Somebody says we

  405. can have it. He just told us. How glory to God.

  406. Three plus two still equals five. These three and two

  407. equal these five results like a tree, planted, fruit bearing,

  408. never dry, and prospering. Whatever. Now let's just go back

  409. and look at those before we close. Four amazing outcomes

  410. or fruit that results. Look at verse three. He shall

  411. be like a tree. And now these four amazing outcomes

  412. planted by the rivers of water. This is no ordinary tree.

  413. This is a tree that's planted by the rivers of water.

  414. Did you catch the plural there? It's not just a

  415. river of water. You have a tree planted by a

  416. river of water, it flourishes. But this is a tree

  417. planted by rivers of water. It's feeding on all kinds

  418. of sources. It's never dry, always flourishing, always prospering. Why

  419. because it's planted by the rivers. Now, I believe primarily,

  420. and there's probably other things, but I believe these rivers

  421. would be symbolic for us of the Holy Spirit, because

  422. he's oftentimes termed a river or water into scriptures and

  423. the Word of God, the Word of God is like

  424. is oftentimes symbolized by water. But the Word of God

  425. in three aspects, the living Word, Jesus, intimacy, fellowship with him,

  426. the written word, the scriptures, and the spoken word, taking

  427. the word and speaking out of our mouths. Those are

  428. rivers of living water. And we will be blessed, happy fortuns,

  429. as envy as we feed on those things. And we

  430. know that'll just be the result we'll have that Holy

  431. Spirit will be planted by the rivers, the Holy Spirit,

  432. the Living Word, the written word the spoken word. So

  433. not only is this person separated from the world saturated

  434. with the word, he's situated by the waters. Hallelujah. That's

  435. to be us, separated from the world saturated with the word,

  436. situated by the waters. Drought can come, bad times can come.

  437. We just got rivers we're drawing on. You can't even

  438. see him. Our roots are underground and we're just pulling

  439. on those rivers. In hard times, bad times, rough times,

  440. tough times, people say, how do you keep your joy?

  441. How can you be happy? How can you still say

  442. you're blessed? How come you're not on tranquilizers or downers?

  443. How comes you're not all depressed and discouraged. I know

  444. some of the things you've had to face. How can

  445. you still keep your joy? Rivers? Rivers? I got rivers

  446. I'm feeding on. You can't main, not, babe to see them.

  447. My roots go down and I'm going into those rivers.

  448. How do you get those roots tapping into those rivers?

  449. Don't walk into council, then Godi. Don't stand in the

  450. way of sinners, don't sit in the sea of the scornful,

  451. Delight in the word of the Lord, Meditate in it.

  452. Day and night, and you will be like a tree

  453. planted by the rivers of water. Secondly, you'll be fruit bearing.

  454. Notice verse thy that brings forth his fruit in its season.

  455. You bring forth fruit. What do you think of when

  456. you think of fruit? Well, hopefully Galatians five. The fruit

  457. of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,

  458. self control. You're bringing that forth all the time. I mean,

  459. wouldn't that be? Isn't that a blessed life? Isn't that

  460. the Christian life to always be manifesting not just one

  461. or two of the fruit, but all of the fruit

  462. in its season. When that fruit is needed, you bring

  463. it forth. Sometimes love is needed, sometimes joy is needed,

  464. sometimes health, control is needed, sometimes gentleness is needed. You

  465. bring forth fruit in its season because you're blessed. You're

  466. delighting in the law of the Lord. You're meditating in

  467. a day and night. You're not walking in the council

  468. of the galley, you're not sitting in the seat of

  469. the scornful, you're not standing in the way of sinners.

  470. And as a result, you're bringing forth fruit in its season. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,

  471. self control, there's the fruits of righteousness. There's the fruit

  472. of lost souls being saved. There's the fruit of holiness.

  473. There's a lot of different fruit referred to in the scriptures. Thirdly,

  474. the third amazing outcome of doing what we've talked about

  475. not only planted, not only productive, but plentiful. Notice it

  476. says your leef also shall not wither. Why do leaves wither?

  477. They become dry? You don't go through that dryness. Relief

  478. does not wither. You're tapping into the source at all times.

  479. You are. You have that fresh sap if you would,

  480. because you're not doing those three things. You're doing those

  481. two things, and you're blessed, happy, fortune to be envied.

  482. This is the secret of continual joy. So this person

  483. is planted, productive, and plentiful, never dry. Talk to some

  484. people who are always going through dry spells on this

  485. another dry season, just going through a dry time. They

  486. don't have to despite what's going on around us or

  487. to us. We can stay on the mountaintop, we can

  488. stay with God, we can stay by the rivers. And

  489. then the fourth amazing outcome is prosperous, planted, productive, give plentiful, prosperous. Notice,

  490. and whatever he does shall prosper. Whatever he does. It

  491. doesn't just say he'll prosper. Whatever he does shall prosper.

  492. How can that be? Because they're tapping into the wisdom

  493. of God, the delighting in the word of God. They're

  494. meditating in a day and night, and that wisdom is

  495. coming forth. And whatever you do prospers financially, mentally, emotionally, physically,

  496. health wise, family wise, relationship wise, just prospering. God's given

  497. us the secret the keys. Whatever we do prospers. One

  498. commentation read it this way. His life is productive and effective.

  499. His life is productive and effective. The passion translation reads,

  500. he brings things to a successful conclusion. He brings things

  501. to a successful conclusion. Prosperity, success, victory. Prosperity in the

  502. scriptures is not only finances, but it's prospering spirit, soul, body, finances,

  503. and socially. Whatever he does prospers. Well, most of us

  504. are thinking, yes, I want that that whatever I do prospers.

  505. How do I get that? Walk not in the council

  506. of in golly, don't stand in the way of sinners,

  507. don't sit in the seat of the scornful. And that

  508. could be people, It could be things you read, things

  509. you listen to, thanks you meditate on, people you surround

  510. yourself with. Don't do that. Instead, walk in the counsel

  511. of the almighty, standing the way of the righteous, sit

  512. in the seat of the respectful and the reverential, and

  513. then delight find pleasure in the Word of God. It's

  514. not a book just to be I gotta read my Bible.

  515. I guess I should read it. I guess I act

  516. to read. No delight in it. If that's not there,

  517. ask God to help you delight in it and persevere.

  518. And the more you stay with it, that delight will

  519. come and manifest stronger and stronger. The more you read

  520. it and the more you study it, the more delightful

  521. it becomes. And you may go through some dry times

  522. sometimes it's say I just don't feel like I'm getting

  523. anything out of this, or there's just not nothing's happening.

  524. Just hang in there, baby, because it's going to happen.

  525. It'll come. It will oh come. And especially if you

  526. just pray, say God, help me give me a hunger

  527. for your word, give me a greater desire for your word.

  528. Help me to delight in your word. In fact, let's

  529. pray that right now, close your eyes and say this

  530. with me. Father, I ask you to give me a

  531. greater hunger, a greater desire, and a delight in your

  532. word and for your word, and I receive it in

  533. Jesus' name. Amen. And then that other aspect. Meditate in

  534. it day and night. Train yourself to meditate in the

  535. word day and night. Let it be your ultimate concern,

  536. the will of God, and let it affect your daily decisions.

  537. And then meditate in it. Think about it, ponder it,

  538. hold on, think about it, ponder it, mutter it land

  539. your bed at night, and go over it when you

  540. face the decision. What would the scriptures say? What would

  541. Jesus do? Apply these things we've talked about, and you

  542. will be blessed, happy, fortunate, favored, and envied glory to God. Amen.

  543. We'll continue this Wednesday night and we'll dig into it

  544. even more. But there is so much good truth there. Now.

  545. I saw a couple of hands. People were getting something.

  546. I think they want to share a pastor of ust

  547. I think did and the announce it. We'll go ahead

  548. and open that. Go ahead. There's a proverb that says,

  549. having just the right word for the right occasion perfect,

  550. all right. And then.

  551. I've looked at the rivers Eel River and Wabash River,

  552. for example, and I see trees all along the banks.

  553. Those are happened so trees, and those trees get what

  554. water they can whenever the water is there, and sometimes

  555. they're over flooded. But I see here that this tree

  556. is planted. It has not happened so and we are

  557. not happen So in God's plan, we are planted. And

  558. those rivers of water are not simply a happen so

  559. river like the Wabash or the Eel River. But these

  560. are channels, irrigation channels. We have been purposely planted in

  561. a place of His favor. We have been watered by

  562. water that he brings to our place, by channels that

  563. He's prepared. Everything is prepared for us to prosper by

  564. his hand.

  565. For sharing time.

  566. Here, I just want to encourage anybody that's going through

  567. a dry spell that I've been there, and just even

  568. though you don't feel like it, just continue to enter

  569. into God's presence and to ask him to help you,

  570. like Pastor Tim was saying, and that time of refreshing

  571. and that water will come, and that dryness will eventually

  572. fade and pass away. So I just wanted to encourage

  573. anyone that was out there.

  574. Anybody else have something they wanted to share before they

  575. go okay, and they're not a fan. They got to

  576. get to a family gathering. So bless you guys, bring

  577. us some food back.

  578. Just as Pastor was sharing about what you know, thinking

  579. about where we walk, sit, and stand, I felt like

  580. the spirit said to me to the well, and this

  581. is what Pastor brought out in the sermon. But we

  582. can stand, we stand separate from the world, we sit

  583. studying the word, and then we're walking in the water. Amen.

  584. All right, anyone else Okay, Nikki gets to get up

  585. and try and top those strings.

  586. Come on, okay, then thank you for listening. We hope

  587. that you enjoy today's episode. Don't forget to share and

  588. subscribe to this podcast for more. God bless you all.
