  3. all over the Philippines. We hope that this podcast finds

  4. you in good shape. And now here's your message. Five.

  5. We have been talking about yahwe Rohi, the Shepherd Lord,

  6. out of Psalm twenty three, and that brought us to

  7. the verse where it says he anoints our head with oil.

  8. He anoints our head with oil. And last week we

  9. were talking about three anointings for three enemies. Three anointings

  10. for three enemies. Who can tell me what those three

  11. enemies are? Play it out loud, send Satan's self. Yeah,

  12. that's another way of saying. How about the other way?

  13. What's the world the flesh and the devil God by

  14. the Shepherd Lord yahweh Rohi gives us three anointings four

  15. three enemies. The Shepherd anoints our head with oil. So

  16. if you are we talked about flies, scab and conflict,

  17. and the flies represent the enemy bring us pestering, troubling,

  18. tormenting thoughts. But the shepherd wants to annoint our heads

  19. to drive away the flies. That would be the devil

  20. and then talked about sin and contamination from the world.

  21. That's the scab, and that's the world obviously, and there's

  22. a lot of saying, a lot of contamination out there

  23. that would try to infect us. And oftentimes sheep get

  24. infected by coming into contact with infected sheep. They're uninfected,

  25. but they come in contact with uninfected sheep. That's why

  26. you have to guard who you run with, who you

  27. butty up with, who you fellowship with, because you can

  28. get infected, even unintentionally. And that would be the world.

  29. But the Shepherd wants to anoint our heads to keep

  30. the scab away or to heal the scab. And then

  31. the third anointing was for friction and strife and butting heads.

  32. You know, people like sheep tend to like to I

  33. don't know if they like it, but they do it.

  34. They butt heads. Somebody asked me this week about two

  35. people I know. They said, do they tend to butt heads?

  36. I said, yeah, they on occasion, I've seen of that. Well,

  37. if our heads are anointed by the shepherd, if two

  38. heads that are anointed they go to butt has, they

  39. just slide off one another. That's walking in a gape love. Boy,

  40. that's important in a marriage, you both be anointed, walk

  41. in love. So whether it's flies or scabs or conflict,

  42. what we need to do and just do this intensely

  43. on purpose. Just bow your head before the shepherd and say,

  44. Shepherd Lord, anoint me this day, anoint my head, free

  45. me from any flies, any scab, any conflict. I'm getting

  46. ready to go to work. I'm getting ready to go

  47. in this place where there's a lot of conflict, a

  48. lot of flies, and a lot of scab. I just

  49. receive your anointing right now, Shepherd Lord, I bow my

  50. head before you, anoint me, anoint my head. He wants

  51. us to be free. The shepherd cares. The shepherd cares,

  52. think about what do flies and scab and conflict do.

  53. They distract, They annoy, they irritate. They take away your peace,

  54. They take away your rest, they take away your calm.

  55. They can take away your sleep. But the shepherd cares.

  56. Shepherd says, I don't want that from my sheep. I

  57. want to make you to lie down in green pastures.

  58. I want to lead you beside still waters. I want

  59. to restore, refresh, renew, revive your soul. So bow your

  60. head before the shepherd let him anoint you. We need

  61. a greater revelation of the shepherd's care in every aspect

  62. of life. You know, it's too common, too typical, too

  63. for we as sheep. Dumb sheep, I might add tend

  64. to be to say, well, I've got to do this

  65. on my own. I've got to figure this out. I've

  66. got to make this happen. But we need to get

  67. this revelation when we're thinking that way, when that's happened,

  68. to say, wait a minute, the shepherd cares, and army sheep,

  69. what am I doing trying to make this happen, trying

  70. to figure this out, trying to do it on my own.

  71. The shepherd cares, army sheep, shepherd, Lord, just annoy me,

  72. help me right now, refresh me, renew me, Lead me

  73. beside the still waters, Lead me in paths of righteousness,

  74. Make me to lie down and pastures. This shepherd cares.

  75. We have a shepherd who cares. Sheep in and of

  76. themselves are defenseless, helpless. We need to stay close to

  77. the shepherd. The enemy wants to irritate us, annoy us,

  78. rob us of peace and rest and refreshing. He wants

  79. to steal that from us, Then Jesus say, the thief

  80. comes to steal, kill and destroy. Even those thoughts and

  81. things I got can rob us of deep RESTful sleep.

  82. That can rob your health, can rob your of energy,

  83. rob your vitality. It seems lately I've heard so many

  84. reports of people having trouble sleeping. I think it's a

  85. full attack of the enemy. To be honest, maybe it's you.

  86. In fact, if it's you, if you've been having trouble sleeping,

  87. stand up right now, we're going to pray and take

  88. authority over that. Lay down your pride. Stand up right now.

  89. If you've been having trouble sleeping, put pride aside, and

  90. we're going to take authority over the enemy robbing people sleep.

  91. No more, it's got to go. Anybody else before we pray.

  92. Don't come to me afterward and say, oh, would you

  93. pray for me? I should have had. I should have

  94. stood up, but didn't want. You know, I was concerned

  95. about what people might think. Forget about that. The shepherd cares.

  96. The shepherd cares. Anybody else before we pray, okay, everybody else,

  97. just join with me in prayer. May want to stretch

  98. your hands towards somebody, or just join with me in prayer.

  99. Right now, Father, right now, in the mighty name of Jesus,

  100. we pray for these people who stand here before you,

  101. as their shepherd is their Lord, Lord God. We pray

  102. for deep, RESTful, peaceful sleep. We bind the enemy, We

  103. bind the spirit of insomnia. We bind the enemy trying

  104. to steal sleep in any way, shape or form. Go

  105. in the name of Jesus, and we just thank you Lord.

  106. You give your beloved sleep, you give deep RESTful sleep.

  107. And we claim that in agree right now for these

  108. that are standing in Jesus' name, we receive it. We

  109. count it as done in Jesus' name. And those in

  110. agreement said, amen, Now you can be seated. Now you're

  111. gonna have to enforce that. I believe it's done right there.

  112. I was by the spirit of the Lord. So you're

  113. gonna need to enforce that. Now. You go to bed

  114. tonight and say, thank Lord, I thank you. I receive

  115. deep breathful, peaceful sleep. I'm bind the enemy from interrupting

  116. my sleep. You should do that every night and then

  117. take a scription. Just lay there and chew on it,

  118. meditate on it. Just think about it and then just

  119. drift off to deep, RESTful sleep. It's a gift God

  120. has it for you. So that brings us to the

  121. subject of the anointing. He anoints our head with oil.

  122. We hear about the anointing, but what is it? Could

  123. you give a definition of the anointing? If somebody came

  124. up to your new believer or something said, hey, I

  125. hear this term the anointing. What is the anointing? And

  126. really it depends on what circle it might be. In

  127. mainline denominations, you probably won't hear much of anything about

  128. the anointing, although you're going to see it's it's part

  129. and parts of Christianity. It'd be more in full gospel

  130. circles where you hear more about the anointing. So we

  131. want to look at the anointing. What is it, what

  132. is it for, who is it for? And how does

  133. it operate. I've already had some people say that you

  134. mentioned the annoying. I want to know. I'm looking forward

  135. to knowing more about it and what it's for and

  136. how it operates. Ask yourself, do you understand the anointing

  137. and the need for it in your life? To live victoriously,

  138. to live successfully, to fulfill the world of God, to

  139. run the race, to finish the course. We need the

  140. anointing of God because the anointing is the help, the power,

  141. the presence, the enabling, the equipping of the Holy Spirit

  142. to do whatever God has assigned us called us to do.

  143. And it's not just in the spiritual, it's in the natural.

  144. I believe there are two major mistakes or errors that

  145. we as people typically have when it comes to the anointing.

  146. Number one is we undervalue it, we minimize it, or

  147. we just totally ignore it. And you've got some people

  148. about the anointing, they look at you like you got

  149. off the bus, just came from Mars or something. A

  150. lot of people think they undervalue the anointing, they minimize it,

  151. or they just ignore it. The other mistake that people

  152. make is over spiritualizing it, like, oh, the anointing, and

  153. we tend to think that's only for special people, big

  154. name preachers. I don't know an evangelists, people that have

  155. special miracle healing ministries are on television, and we tend

  156. to think, oh, well, you know Katherine Cooman, she was anointed.

  157. Keneth Hagen was anointed Billy Graham. You know he may

  158. he was anointed, Benny Hen he's anointed. You know, we think,

  159. but that's them, not me. But you're going to see

  160. today from the Word of God, that you are anointed,

  161. you have an anointing. In fact, close your eyes and

  162. just say, I am anointed. I have an anointing. That is,

  163. if you're a believer, you are anointed, you have an annoying.

  164. You say, well, what for I'm not on television, I

  165. don't pray for large crowds of people, And that you're

  166. still anointed. You have a vocation, a calling, and you

  167. need the anointing to successfully function. Now we're going to

  168. see that Jesus did what he did in his earthly

  169. ministry by that same anointing. In fact, you know he said,

  170. I don't what I do, I don't do it of myself.

  171. Let's look at that. Let's establish this John chapter five,

  172. we'll just look at I could get. I mean, there's

  173. I've got marked in just in John probably over a

  174. dozen scriptures that bear this out. We're going to look

  175. at a few here, John chapter five, verse seventeen. But

  176. Jesus answered them, my father worketh hitherto and I work. Notice,

  177. he said, my Father works, therefore I work Verse nineteen.

  178. Then answered Jesus said to them, verily, verily, I say

  179. unto you, the son can do nothing of himself. When

  180. Jesus came to earth, Philippians two tells us he emptied

  181. himself of divine privileges, and he came here as a man,

  182. anointed by the spirit of God, all God, but all man.

  183. We can't figure it out, don't try to. But he

  184. was all God and all man. It's called by theologians

  185. the hypostatic union. But he came here to minister as

  186. a man, and to show us how things were to

  187. be done. He says, the son can do nothing of himself,

  188. but what he seeth the Father do, said, I can't

  189. do anything of myself in his humanity, but what he

  190. sees the Father do. For whatever he does, these also

  191. do it the son likewise or in the same manner.

  192. Look at verse thirty. I can of mine own self

  193. do nothing, you know that's true of you and me,

  194. anything of lasting value, anything of eternal value. I can

  195. of my own self do nothing. You can of your

  196. own self do nothing. That's just what Jesus said John fifteen,

  197. where he said, I'm the vine, you're the branches. The

  198. only way the branches can bear fruit is to be

  199. connected to the vine. He said, without me, you can

  200. do nothing. We have to have that vine life. We

  201. have to be connected to the vine. I can, of

  202. my own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge,

  203. and my judgment is just because I seek not mine

  204. own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.

  205. Go to John eight. John eight twenty eight then said

  206. Jesus to them, when you have lifted up the son

  207. of Man, then shall you know that I am He.

  208. Now this really tweaked him, because, uh well, it doesn't

  209. show up here on the screen. It shows up in

  210. my Bible, probably yours. The word he that's in italics,

  211. meaning the translators added it. It's not in the original Greek.

  212. They added it in order to help clarify. I think

  213. they did a great disservice, because really, Jesus said, when

  214. you've lifted up the son of Man, then you shall

  215. know that I am capital, I capital, A capital, M

  216. I am hearkening back to the God who spoke to Moses.

  217. When Moses said, who should I say sent me? He said,

  218. tell them, I am sent you and now Jesus is

  219. claiming to be deity. Here he said I am. He

  220. said that. He said the I am phrase numerous times

  221. in John, and the translator has always had he and

  222. you just lose the whole impact of what it's saying.

  223. Now some translations have taken that he is allowed clearer

  224. when you read it, but it should be capital I

  225. capill a capital M. He said, when you lift up

  226. the son of man, then you shall know that I am.

  227. There was those kind of statements where they wanted to

  228. throw him over a cliff and stoney. How there a man.

  229. Isn't this the carpenter's son. We know his mother marrying

  230. his father, Joseph. He's claiming to be God killing That's

  231. why they brought him before the Sanhedrin. He said, this

  232. man blasphemes, claims to be God, and that I do

  233. nothing of myself. He's divine, but he was human. I

  234. do nothing of myself. But as my father has taught me,

  235. I speak these things. Notice verse twenty nine. And he

  236. that sent me is with me. The Father has not

  237. left me alone. For I do always those things that

  238. please him. I do always those things that please him.

  239. Go to John fourteen verse ten, John fourteen ten. Believest

  240. thou not that I am in the Father. Believest thou

  241. not that I am in the Father and the Father

  242. in me. The words that I speak under you, I

  243. speak not of myself. But the Father that dwelleth in me,

  244. he doeth the works. The Father that dwelleth in me,

  245. he does the works. He said, I don't do this

  246. on myself. Now we're going to see. You know, he

  247. keeps making this statement, I don't do this. How did

  248. he do it? Well, we know by the Father, but

  249. want to see the equipment the Father gave him to

  250. do it. Verse eleven. Believe me that I am in

  251. the Father and the Father and me, or else believe

  252. me for the very works sake, verily, verily, I say

  253. unto you. Now notice this, he that believeth on me,

  254. he that believeth on me, the works that I do,

  255. shall he do. Also. Now, if he was doing it

  256. as divine as God, we couldn't do those works. But

  257. if he was doing it by a man, as a

  258. man anointed by the spirit of God, which he was,

  259. then he can make this statement, the works that I do,

  260. you'll do also. Remember another place they came to him,

  261. They said, Master, what must we do to do the

  262. works of the Father. And Jesus didn't rebuke him or

  263. say watch your mouth. What are you saying? Who dare

  264. you to think that you can do the works of God?

  265. Don't you realize I'm the son of God. I'm the

  266. only one that can do these works. To think you

  267. could do the word? No, he said, this is the

  268. work of God. Believe on him. The little Greek is

  269. believe and keep on believing. That's what he's saying. Here,

  270. he's saying, if you verse twelve fairly, I said to you,

  271. he that believes and keeps on believing. Now, this isn't

  272. in me, this is on me. And we'll look at

  273. this next week. We gonna look next week at how

  274. to release the anointing. I want to have time to

  275. get into it today, but we're gonna look at releasing

  276. the anointing. You can, on purpose by hooking up with God,

  277. release the anointing in your life, release it in your situation,

  278. release it when you're praying for the sick. And one

  279. of the keys is not just to believe in Jesus,

  280. but to believe on Jesus. There's a big difference. And

  281. we'll look at that next time. But he's saying, believe

  282. and keep on believing on Jesus, and you'll do the

  283. works that I do also, and greater works, not greater

  284. in quality, but greater in quantity. Because all the believers

  285. are to be doing the works. Then that these shall

  286. he do. Because I go to my Father. Whatever you

  287. shall ask in my name, that will I do. That

  288. the Father may be glorified in the sun. If you

  289. shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.

  290. So how did he do it? He said, I don't

  291. do anything on myself. I don't even speak of myself.

  292. How did he do it? Go to Luke chapter four.

  293. Luke chapter four, he said, at the very onset of

  294. his ministry, he comes to the synagogue in Nazareth, he

  295. stands up, as the custom was, he went in as

  296. his custom was no Verse sixteenth. And he came to

  297. Nazareth where he had been brought up, and as his

  298. custom was, his custom was to be in church every week.

  299. That should be our custom. You know, if Jesus was

  300. here today, he'd be in church every Sunday. Back then

  301. it was the Sabbath, and the Jews he was there

  302. every Sabbath. That was his custom. Should be our custom

  303. to honor the Lord this way, at least once a week.

  304. We should do it every day. But to gather together,

  305. that was his custom. And he went into the synagogue

  306. on the Sabbath day and stood up to read, and

  307. there was delivered on in the book of the prophet Isaiah.

  308. And when he had opened the book, he found the place.

  309. He deliberately found this place. They really want a book.

  310. It was a scroll, and he found the place, took

  311. the time to find it where it was written. And

  312. then he said this what Isaiah said prophetically of him.

  313. He said, the spirit of the Lord is upon me

  314. because he has anointed me. He said, the spirit is

  315. on me because he's anointed me. He said, the spirit's

  316. on me because I'm anointed. And I'm anointed because the

  317. spirit's on me. The Holy Spirit is the anointing. It's

  318. not the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That's something different.

  319. It's a vital part of it. The baptism of that's

  320. a vital part of it. But this is after the

  321. baptism of the hoi Spirit, beyond the baptism of the

  322. Holy Spirit, operating in the power and the enabling of

  323. the Holy Spirit by the anointing, the tangible presence of God.

  324. Will look at it more as we go. But notice

  325. Jesus said this, This is how he did what he did.

  326. He said, the spirit of the Lord is upon me

  327. because he has anointed me. He's annoying to me. In fact,

  328. hold your place here and go to Acts chapter ten,

  329. Acts chapter ten. In verse thirty eight, Peter is preaching

  330. here and he were breaking in here. For time's sake. Well,

  331. let's read verse thirty four. Because Peter opened his mouth

  332. that of a truth. I perceive that God is no

  333. respector of persons. God is no respector of persons. Now,

  334. those who were in the discipleship class heard today because

  335. I overheard. It's God is no respect for persons. But

  336. he is a respector of faith. He's a rewarder of

  337. those who diligently seek him. But notice verse thirty eight.

  338. Peter says, you heard know how God anointed, How God anointed,

  339. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost.

  340. He was anointed because of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said

  341. to spear, the Lord is upon me because He's anointed me.

  342. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost

  343. and with power Dunamus, miracle working power, who went about

  344. doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.

  345. Sickness and disease. According to the Bible, is oppression of

  346. the devil, not something sent by God to teach us.

  347. It's oppression of the devil. For God was with him.

  348. God anointed Jesus. Go back to Luke, for that's how

  349. Jesus did what he did by this anointing. Now let's

  350. look at some of what he did. Notice Luke four eighteen.

  351. The spear of the Lord is upon me, Jesus says,

  352. because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to

  353. the poor. He's anointing me too, and sent me to

  354. heal the broken hearted. He's anointed me to preach deliverance

  355. to the captives. He's anointing me to bring recovery of

  356. sight to the blind. He's anointing me to set at

  357. liberty them that are bruised. He's anointing me to preach

  358. the acceptable year of the Lord, which is speaking of

  359. the year of Jubilee, the fiftieth year where everybody goes free.

  360. The acceptable year of the Lord was a year of jubilee,

  361. and Jesus basically saying, the jubilee is here. Everybody goes free.

  362. I am your jubilee. Jesus is our jubilee. Hallelujah. We

  363. go free. And Paul says in Galatians five to one,

  364. stand fast in that freedom wherein Christ has made you free.

  365. You gotta stand fast, and you gotta lay hold of

  366. it and not let go of it. The devil wants

  367. to take it from you. But Jesus said, the spirit

  368. of the Lord is upon me because He's anointed me

  369. to preach the Gospel to the poor. Jesus was anointed

  370. to preach the Gospel, the good News to the poor poor,

  371. not just materially or financially poor, but spiritually poor poor

  372. in any way, he says, I'm anointed to preach the

  373. Gospel to the poor. Now, what is it that most

  374. Christians feel inadequate to do, feel ill equipped to do,

  375. and oftentimes they're fearful of doing. Sharing the good News,

  376. preaching the Gospel with their coworkers, with their neighbors, with

  377. their friends, with their relatives, with strangers, people that come

  378. in contact with a very, very very small percentage of

  379. believers witnesses shares their faith, and an even smaller has

  380. ever led anybody to the Lord. And yet the great

  381. commission jesaid, go yee to all his followers into all

  382. the world, and preach the good news. It's the great commission.

  383. It has been termed the Great Omission. However, by the

  384. way many live their lives. So you know, some might say, yes,

  385. I do feel ill equipped to preach the good news.

  386. Do you know there's an anointing to do it? And

  387. you can tap into that anointing now without getting too

  388. don't over spiritualize in your mind. Basically, let me break

  389. it down real simple. The help of the Holy Spirit.

  390. The Holy Spirit will help you share your faith to

  391. know what to say, when to say it, and how

  392. to say it. If you say, Lord, thank you for

  393. the anointing. Thank you for helping me share my faith

  394. and receive that anointing. You notice Jesus he did this.

  395. The one woman he met at the well, he says,

  396. he said, how he approached her, He said, go and

  397. call your husband. Now he could have said, woman, you're

  398. a pretty bad sinner. You've had five husbands and you're

  399. living with somebody now outside of marriage. But he just said,

  400. go and call your husband. She said, Lord, I don't

  401. have a husband. He said, you've rightly spoken because you've

  402. had five husbands and the one you're living with now

  403. is not your husband. And she went into the village

  404. and said, come and see a man who told me

  405. everything there is about me. Well, she won the whole

  406. village to Christ. Well, he was led by the spirit

  407. on what to say and how to say it. When

  408. they came to him with the woman caught in adultery,

  409. they said, what are we supposed to do? He said, well,

  410. you know the law said stone or kill her grace

  411. and Mercy said let her go. But if he went

  412. either way, it was one of those blank if you

  413. do and blank if you don't. Situations. He said, well, okay,

  414. who's ever got the first? Who's there without sin? You

  415. throw the first stone? And it says, one by one,

  416. beginning with the eldest. They walked away. They just dropped

  417. their stones and walked away. He said to Nicodemus, who

  418. came to him at night, teacher of the ruler of

  419. the Jews, and he said, he didn't say to him,

  420. didn't identify And he said, or anything. He said, Nick,

  421. you gotta be born again. That's why he's called nicket

  422. Knight anyway. So so, first case of nicket Knight, just

  423. like you know when Jesus cast those demons out of

  424. those pigs, or cast a demon out of the demoniac

  425. and they went into the pigs. First case of deviled

  426. ham in the Bible. Anyway, Well, I can't keep going.

  427. Don't encourage me. So but he said to Nicodemus, He said, Nicodemus,

  428. you must be born again. And Nicodemus said, what How

  429. can an old man go back into his mother's womb.

  430. He said, I'm not talking about a physical rebirth. I'm

  431. talking about a spiritual He had him hooked right there.

  432. He became one of his followers. How did he do that?

  433. He said, I don't say anything of myself. He did

  434. it by the anointing. The spirit of the Lord is

  435. upon me. He's annoying me to preach. You are anointed

  436. to preach. You are annointed to share the good news.

  437. And I can hear some people saying right now, well,

  438. hold on, pastor Tim that was Jesus. That doesn't mean

  439. I'm anointed this way, all right? Since you brought that up.

  440. Hold your place there. Go to Second Corinthians Chapter one.

  441. Second Corinthians, Chapter one. I hope you like getting into

  442. your bibles. I mean that needs to be the solid

  443. foundation of our lives. I don't believe in these churches

  444. where you go and they read one verse, if that's

  445. if that, and that's all you hear about the Bible.

  446. Look at Second Corinthians, chapter one, verse twenty seen Corinthians

  447. one twenty. For all the promises of God in Him

  448. in Christ are yea and in Him amen under the

  449. glory of God by us. Now note verse twenty one.

  450. Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and

  451. half anointed us is God half anointed. Is that past, present,

  452. or future tense? Say that loud, Past, present or future.

  453. It's not a trick question. You did have English class

  454. right when you grew up. Past present or future past.

  455. It's not present tense, although it does have present abiding results.

  456. It's not future. He's not saying someday, when you reach

  457. a certain spiritual level, you will be annoyed. Now he

  458. says you are anointed, since he didn't say, now when

  459. you get to the level, say Katherine Coohman was at

  460. then you'll be anointed. No, now she operated. I said,

  461. you know, these well known people, they have these special

  462. callings and ministries. They are anointed, and a lot of

  463. times have a special anointing. But you've got an anointing

  464. for what you're called to do, what your vocation is.

  465. I mean Katherine Cooman was anointed. Our director at Team

  466. Challenge said that he went to one of her meetings

  467. and he and I wish Penny was here, she could

  468. help me. Remember six or eight she's in the nursery,

  469. but I think it was eight other He and seven

  470. other pastors or eight of them were all skeptics. They

  471. said this, you know, because Katheryne Cooman dealt with a

  472. lot of skepticism, One because she was a woman, and

  473. two she was really different who he ain't by familiar

  474. with Catherine Coleman, raise your hand. I mean she'd come

  475. out in these flowing silky ropes, Ah, precious ones, Jesus

  476. is here, you know, honesty. So she dealt with a

  477. lot of flak. So these eight preachers were on the

  478. front row with skeptics. They said, this is a sam

  479. these people being healed and miracles and falling under the power.

  480. You know, where the power God be so strong. I mean,

  481. when the supernatural comes into contact with the natural, something's

  482. got to give, and it's not going to be the supernatural.

  483. And when the supernatural anointing of God comes into contact

  484. with the natural, the natural gifts. That's why people fall

  485. under the power sometimes. Well, these eight preachers were sitting

  486. on the front row with skeptics. They said, we're gonna

  487. show this woman. She doesn't know what she's talking about.

  488. YadA YadA. You know. Katherine Cooman comes walking in from

  489. the side. They're on the front. Everybody's standing. I think

  490. they were all singing or something like that. They didn't

  491. even know she was coming. And she just comes walking by.

  492. These eight preachers, didn't touch them, didn't pray for me.

  493. Bam bam, bam, bam, bam, bam bam. All eight of

  494. them fell under the power. Well made believers out of

  495. all eight of them because they didn't do it willingly.

  496. She was anointed. But here it says He has anointed us.

  497. God has anointed us. You are anointed well. Bible says,

  498. in the mouth of two or three witnesses, Let every

  499. fact be established. Go to first John, First John, Chapter two.

  500. Hold your place in Luke four for coming back. First

  501. John chapter two, verse twenty. Well, let's go to eighteen

  502. little children. It is the last time. And as you

  503. have heard that Antichrist shall come. Even now, there are

  504. many Antichrist by which we know that it is the

  505. last time. The spirit of Antichrist is in the world.

  506. Have you discovered life can be tough. That's why we

  507. need the anointing. Life can be hard, life can be rough,

  508. and we need the anointing in these times. It's really

  509. the last times. We're closer to the end than we've

  510. ever been in history. And just look at the headlines.

  511. Even now, there are many Antichrist by which we know

  512. that it is a life last time. They went out

  513. from us, but they were not of us. For if

  514. there had been of us, they would no doubt have

  515. continued with us. But they went out that they might

  516. be made manifest that they were not all of us.

  517. Now those verse twenty. But you have an unction from

  518. the Holy One. Anointing another word for anointing in facts.

  519. And if you've got a Bible that reads anointing instead

  520. of unction, okay, there's some there. You have an anointing

  521. in fact. My Bible has this cross reference two Corinthians

  522. one twenty one that we just read, He has anointed us.

  523. You have an unction. You have an anointing. You not

  524. Katherine Cooman, not Kenneth Hagen, not Benny hent. You have

  525. an anointing from the Holy One, from God. You have

  526. an anointing. You might say, well, what do I need

  527. an anointing? Fur to do what God has called you

  528. to do, to run the race, to finish the course.

  529. And it's not just only spiritual. It's natural to do

  530. your job. You know, there's an anointing to do your job.

  531. You may be a secretary, you may be a construction worker,

  532. you may be an executive, you may be Jeff that

  533. Bob Dylan songs running through my mind, those words you

  534. gotta serve somebody. But there's an anointing for that, and

  535. you gotta taping. You know. In the Old Testament, when

  536. they were building the Ta Tabernacle, has said they certain

  537. ones He named specifically Bezilel and o Holyab. They were

  538. anointed by God, anointed to do embroidery and tapestry in

  539. the work of building, annointed to preach or prophesi or

  540. pray for the city. They were anointed to do natural

  541. work when they built the tabernacle. God's anointing. What's on

  542. people to do what God wanted to tell us who

  543. wanted to done? You have an anointing to do what

  544. God wants you to do. It's your what I need

  545. to finish this. But don't let me. Don't let me

  546. go anywhere else after we leave here until Ephesians till

  547. we go to Phesians four Pheasians four next in case

  548. I forget all right, but you have an anointing from

  549. the Holy One and you know all things. Now, it's

  550. not saying you know everything that's ever. I mean, that's obvious.

  551. I don't think that needs any explanation. But he's saying,

  552. when you're operating in the anointing, you'll know what you

  553. need to know. Somebody will come to you and say,

  554. you know, like Jesus, well, i'm marvel the way he did.

  555. I want to be more like that. They'd come then

  556. they try and trap him, you know, tricking, and they'd say,

  557. you know, well, should we pay taxes to Caesar or not.

  558. He'd say, well, show me a coin. His inscription is

  559. on caesars, render the Caesar things that are caesars rendered

  560. to God and things that are God's and they leave

  561. him for a season. They came back. They sent people

  562. to rest him, and they came back and they said,

  563. what are you doing? Where's Jesus? Never a man spoke

  564. like this man. But he said, I don't say anything

  565. of my own. It's the anointing. The spirit of the

  566. Lord is upon me. He has anointed me to preach,

  567. to proclaim good news. He wasn't anointed just to stand

  568. before crowds and proclaim. He was anointed just like you

  569. are anointed to speak if we tap into anointing. How

  570. the things we do to hinder the anointing. We'll look

  571. at that, hopefully next week. But oh, I want you

  572. to get excited about this. How you can So many

  573. times we try and do things on our own when

  574. we need to tap into the anointing the Holy Ghost.

  575. Then did Jesus say time and again, I'm leaving. But

  576. it's to your advantage that I go away, because I'm

  577. sending the helper the pericleat the one called alongside to

  578. help the comfort of the counselor he's the helper called

  579. alongside to help. No matter what you do, there's an

  580. anointing that you can tap into, and I think so

  581. many times we just don't even think to We just say, oh,

  582. I gotta figure this out. I gotta do this. I mean,

  583. I've been at this quite a while and I'm just

  584. getting myself as I started to say this, like wow,

  585. I haven't been taken advantage of the anointing like I should.

  586. I had uh my day off this this week. I

  587. had uh two plumbing things that I needed to deal with.

  588. And I don't know about you, but I don't like

  589. dealing with plumbing. In fact, a person, a friend of

  590. mine that's in construction and does all kinds of different

  591. I mean from all electrical plumbing, building, roofing, all kinds

  592. of thing, he said to me one time, he said,

  593. I hate plumbing. He said, I hate it. He said,

  594. because you don't ever know where that water is coming

  595. from and where it's going. He said, it can be

  596. here and it's coming from clear over there, and you

  597. don't realize it. Why is it coming out here when

  598. it's come when it's way over there? He said, I

  599. hate plumbing, And ever since he said that, I'm I

  600. think the same thing. But I had In fact, I

  601. had a plumber, don't let me get off of where

  602. I was, and don't forget Ephesians four. But I had

  603. a we had a we had a seat a sink

  604. in our downstairs bathroom and it was dripping and I

  605. couldn't find where the drip was. I mean, I saw

  606. it coming and I'm under there was a fly slide,

  607. and I'm looking and I'm like, where is this coming from?

  608. I can't figure it out. I'm trying, and so I thought, well,

  609. talk to a friend of mine. He said, well, it's

  610. probably the cartridge in the in the in the stem there.

  611. You got to get that out. And I couldn't get out.

  612. I couldn't figure out how to get it out. He

  613. came over and looked at it. He couldn't figure out

  614. how to get it out. Or turned out it was

  615. calcified on there, and we didn't we didn't want to

  616. break it or anything. So but anyway, so I called

  617. this plumber friend of mine to come and look at it.

  618. And I showed it to him and I said, well,

  619. look it's dripping under there and everything, and you know

  620. that's where the water was and he and I said, so,

  621. you know, have at it. And he stands here like this,

  622. thinking that the leak is underneath in the cabinet. What

  623. are you doing? And he's just kind of looking at it,

  624. and I'm thinking, I'm not paying you to admire the porcelain.

  625. You know. It's like, get under there with a fly

  626. slight and find out where this leak is. So I

  627. said to him again, I said, well, if you go

  628. under there, you can see it dripping down. And he goes, yeah,

  629. I heard you stands there longest time. I just wanted

  630. to go get Penny. He said, Penny, talk to this guy,

  631. you know, it's like. So then he goes, I think,

  632. I see your problem. And the you know, there's a

  633. hole there where it gets mounted, and it had shifted

  634. over just enough where yes, that cartridge was leaking, but

  635. it was going around and finding that little inkling of

  636. a hole. And he said, this needs to be moved over,

  637. or anytime you get water up here and splashing, it's

  638. going to go down in there. So he didn't think

  639. it's moved it over a little bit, stopped leaking. I thought,

  640. he's anointed. He's anointed to do the plumbing. And then

  641. and then you know, my friend, I both tried to

  642. get the cartridge out and we said we can't get

  643. it out. We know we got to get in there

  644. and get it out. And by this time, I'm saying, hey,

  645. have had it. You want some tea, you know, a coffee,

  646. anything like that. Take your time. So then you know,

  647. he takes this fine little screwdriver and he starts prying it,

  648. and I think you're gonna break it. And he's prying it,

  649. prying it and popped it off and become calcified, pulls

  650. out the cartes, say yep, you need a new one.

  651. Thought he's anointed. So now how'd I get on that? Okay?

  652. So my day office, we got two plumbing issues. One

  653. with our refrigerator that I the line running in for

  654. the war. I had to put a shut off valve

  655. on there and put some some plex line on it.

  656. And I'm thinking, no, I don't like these plumbing things.

  657. And I'm not a plumber, but I'm frugal enough. I

  658. don't want to spend money to have somebody come in

  659. and do it. So I thought I'm going to do it,

  660. you know. And uh, but that morning I said, Lord,

  661. I'm believing you give me an anointing to fix these

  662. plumbing problems. I'm believing for an anointing. So I'm going

  663. in there and you know, I got the refrigerator pulled

  664. out and I'm doing what I need to do, and uh, Sarah,

  665. I said, Sarah, I'm gonna need you to go down.

  666. I turned off the water. I said, I need you

  667. to go down. And when I uh, yeah, you turn

  668. the water on. If you hear me yell again, turn

  669. it off. So because I'd done what I needed to do,

  670. and uh so I said, all right, turn it on.

  671. She turns it on and shit's leaking. Uh No, I

  672. got anointing, and I said, turn it off. So I

  673. made some adjustments and tightened a little bit more because

  674. I always over tightened. Penny calls me mister overdue. So

  675. I've heard that for fort thirty some years. So now

  676. I tend to be more careful because I've broken a

  677. lot of things. If tight is good, tighter is better.

  678. So uh, but I've learned not to. I've learned to

  679. go with tight, not tighter. Actually I used to be

  680. tight is If tight is good, tighter is better, and

  681. tightus has got to be the great and then break. Uh,

  682. Penny said, mister overdue, did you say preach it. Yes. So,

  683. uh so I've tightened it up a little bit more

  684. and it's like, okay, it's not leaking. I said, well,

  685. I didn't know. I said, all right, Sarah turned it

  686. on and she turns it on and I'm looking at

  687. the flash sight and it's yes, no leaks. And I

  688. hear a voice from downstairs, Dad, there's water dripping all

  689. over down here. What it wasn't even at the refrigerator.

  690. It was over by the toilet, that same toilet I replaced,

  691. Steff and uh, it was over there dripping. And she goes,

  692. I don't know what's going on there, but it's coming

  693. down here pretty strong. You're annoying that. I'm not have that.

  694. I'm gonna go see how David's doing. Call me if

  695. you need me. So I go down there and it's

  696. like water dripping down. I go, oh, it's that same

  697. place where it was leaking before and I had to

  698. replace the toilet. We got a brand new toilet. What's

  699. going on here? So I go up there and I

  700. prayed that morning, Remember Lord, I'd believe you for the

  701. anoint team to get this done. I'm not a plumber.

  702. I'm a preacher. Look at these hands. They're not plumber hands.

  703. I had one one one guy shake my hand. He goes, wow,

  704. nice soft hands. He said, those are preacher hands, those

  705. on construction hands. And uh uh Seasian's four. I get

  706. to that. But uh so I go down there and

  707. I go back up and I look at the toilet

  708. and I'm going, oh boy, it's leaking. Sarah go back

  709. down there, turn it off, and I make some adjustments,

  710. and I think maybe that did it. I took it

  711. back apart some lines and tighten some things up. I said,

  712. all right, turn it on. She turned it on. No leaks.

  713. I say yes. And that only took like what ten

  714. and a half hours? I think it was. No, we

  715. had it probably about an hour less. Had it done,

  716. and I thought, I need to start tapping into the

  717. anointing more now without over spirits. I'm just asking the

  718. Holy Spirit to help us. That's all that is. You know.

  719. The anointing sounds so spiritual, but it's just asking the

  720. Holy Spirit to help us, to come on us and

  721. help us. Now, notice he says, you have an unction,

  722. you have an anointing from the Holy One. You know

  723. all things go to Verse twenty seven. We'll wrap this up.

  724. We didn't get it all in, but we got some

  725. of it in verse twenty seven. But the anointing which

  726. you someday in the sweet by and bye will receive

  727. from Him will then abide in you. No, but the

  728. anointing which you have received, past, present or future tense.

  729. Say loud, past the anointing which you have received. Say

  730. this with me, I have received an anointing. Now say

  731. it like you mean it. I have received in anointing.

  732. One more I have received in anointing. The anointing which

  733. you have received of Him abides in you. And you

  734. need not let any man teach you. Now this is

  735. insaying you don't need people to teach. We don't need

  736. people to teach us the Bible, and we know everything

  737. that's not what it's saying. You can study it out

  738. and not time to get into what he's saying is

  739. when you're operating that anointing, God will give you supernatural wisdom,

  740. knowledge and understanding to know what to do to preach

  741. the good news or the poor, to know what to

  742. say to heal the broken hearted. I want to get

  743. to that too. You need not that any man teach you.

  744. But as the same anointing teaches you of all things,

  745. and is truth.

  746. And and and I guess I'll have to go to Okay,

  747. and there's no line.

  748. Even as that taught you, even as it hath taught you,

  749. the anointing has taught you, you shall abide in him. Okay,

  750. I got a few minutes. Go to Ephesians four. Look

  751. at me at a Pheesian four. You have an anointing.

  752. He hath anointed you Seasian four to one. I. Therefore,

  753. the prisoner of the Lord beseech you that you walk

  754. worthy of the vocation to which you are called. You

  755. have a vocation. It's not your job. Don't think of it. It

  756. doesn't say walk worthy of whatever job you're working. You

  757. have a vocation. Now, whatever job you're working, you have

  758. a vocation in that job. It's to be a minister

  759. of Jesus Christ. A representative of Jesus Christ. Paul said

  760. in Corinthians, we are his ambassadors. We are ministers of reconciliation.

  761. So matter whatever job you have, factory, office, school, whatever,

  762. that's what you're doing. That's what's paying the bills. But

  763. you have a vocation. Your vocation is go back there,

  764. Luke chapter four, Luke, chapter four, hopefully held your finger there.

  765. We'll take it up from here next time. This is

  766. your vocation, Luke, Chapter four, verse eighteen. The spirit of

  767. the Lord is upon me because he's anointing me to

  768. preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted,

  769. to preach deliverance to the captives, recovery of sight to

  770. the blind, set of livery them the bruce, to preach

  771. the acceptable Year of the Lord. That's your vocation, that's

  772. my vocation. This isn't just for full time preachers. This

  773. is for everybody. That's the vocation of which we are calling.

  774. Are we not to preach the gospel? Yes? Are we

  775. not to heal the broken hearted? Yes? Are we not

  776. to bring deliverance to the captives? Yes? Are we not

  777. to bring recovery of sight to the blind? Not just

  778. physically blind, but spiritually blind as well. People they dare

  779. in darkness, they can't see. We're to bring light to them. Yes.

  780. Are we not to set at liberty them that are

  781. bruised and hurting and wounded, and we are to bring

  782. them healing and wholeness. Yes? Are we not to preach

  783. the Year of Jubilee? The year of freedom. Yes, that's

  784. your vocation, and you have an anointing to help you

  785. do that vocation. Now, I take this scripture and I'll

  786. tell you, first time I started doing this, I was

  787. impressed by the spirit to do it, and I did

  788. it with a little bit of fear and trembling because

  789. I thought, that's Jesus' word. Can I take that and

  790. personalize it? But I say my prayer time and I

  791. just started to pray. I thank you Lord. The spirit

  792. of the Lord is upon me. He's anointing me to

  793. preach the gospel to the poor. He sent me to

  794. heal the broken hearted, deliverance to the captives, recovery of

  795. sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that

  796. are bruised, to preach the acceptable Year of the Lord.

  797. I'm anointed to do those things because He's in me,

  798. and I'm his child, and he's my shepherd, and I'm

  799. his sheep, and I'm his ambassador and I'm his representative.

  800. And he gave me a commission to go and preach

  801. and heal and deliver and set free no matter what

  802. my job is. If I was working in a factor

  803. in office and not doing what I'm doing I'd still

  804. have that same vocation to preach to bring healing. The

  805. world is full of people who are lost in darkness,

  806. who are hurting, who are wounded, who are bruised or outcasts,

  807. who are bound by dictions and all kinds. They need

  808. to know Jesus our jubilee has come. And who's going

  809. to tell them? The angels aren't, That's not their job.

  810. Who's going to tell him? He said, we are to

  811. tell him? These signs will follow those who believe in

  812. my name, they'll do these things. How are we going

  813. to do it? By the anointing? The works that I do,

  814. you'll do also? How did Jesus do them? The spirit

  815. of the Lord is upon me because he's anointed me.

  816. You have an anointing from the Holy One. He who

  817. has established us and called us and has anointed us

  818. is God. We need to tap into that anointing. That

  819. holy goes power, holy goes presence, holy goes help, and

  820. it begins as simply as just asking for it, recognizing it,

  821. recognizing it and asking for it. He's a gentleman. He's

  822. not going to force his way in on us. He's

  823. not going to bully up and say step aside. I'm here,

  824. I'll take care of this. Just move aside. No, he

  825. waits for us to call on him. Holy Spirit, help me,

  826. Holy Spirit, help me to do this job. I'm going

  827. into the office right now and it's looking like a

  828. gnarly day. Holy Spirit helped me anoint me for this day. Oh,

  829. I've got this project. I've got this thing. I got

  830. to figure out. Holy Spirit, anoint me for this. Oh boy,

  831. I feel like, Lord, you want me to go talk

  832. to this person, tell them about you. Anoint me. Lord,

  833. give me the right things to say. Help me, Lord, God,

  834. I got all these studies to do this work. To do.

  835. Anoint me, Lord Brook. There's an anointing at school you

  836. can tap into to get that degree. In finish. Thank

  837. you Lord for the anointing. The Holy Spirit wants to

  838. help you and use you no matter what you do.

  839. In a vocation to shine for Jesus. You're making doing

  840. some of the best architects been found. They people say,

  841. how do you do it? Let me tell you it's Jesus,

  842. hallelujah and all of us that way.

  843. God wants to anoint us for our vocation to preach,

  844. to bring healing, to bring recovery of sight, to send it,

  845. liberty them their bruise, to set the captive's free, to

  846. let people know Jesus has come and you can be free.

  847. Yeah, but I'm just working down at the story, you know,

  848. checking people out. That doesn't matter. There's people there that

  849. need Jesus everywhere. They need Jesus, our neighborhood, our place

  850. of work, our contacts without the days throughout the week,

  851. and so many times we're signent because of fear and intimidation.

  852. We need to tap into this annoying and say, Lord,

  853. I think you've anointed me to preach the good news.

  854. You've anointed me to heal the brokenhearted. You've annoyed me

  855. to bring deliverance to the captors. You've anointed me to

  856. bring recovery of sight to the blind. Hallelujah. Stand up

  857. and let's just close our eyes and say that together,

  858. and believe for this anointing. Believe for this annoying. We'll

  859. go into it more next week on things to do

  860. to operate in the anointing. There's things that God tells

  861. us in his word that can enhance the anointing. Things

  862. to doing the things he says not to do. That

  863. will hinder the anointing. We have the anointing either way,

  864. it's just whether we're going to flow with it or

  865. bottle it up. Say this with me in Jesus' name,

  866. I come, and I confess because Jesus is in me

  867. and the Spirit is in me, that I am anointed.

  868. The spirit of the Lord is upon me. He hath

  869. anointed me to preach the good news to the poor.

  870. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted. He

  871. hath anointed me to preach deliverance to the captives. He

  872. has anointed me to bring recovery of sight to the blind.

  873. He has anointed me to preach Jesus that jubilee and

  874. set captives free. Thank you, Lord for the anointing that

  875. I've already been given. Help me to be aware of

  876. it in walking it like you desire me to. In

  877. Jesus' name. A men, go ahead and be seated. We're

  878. going to worship God with our tithes and offerings before

  879. we're dismissed. Thank you for listening. We hope that you

  880. enjoy today's episode. Don't forget to share and subscribe to

  881. this podcast for more. God bless you all.
