-
all over the Philippines. We hope that this podcast finds
-
you in good shape. And now here's your message. Five.
-
We have been talking about yahwe Rohi, the Shepherd Lord,
-
out of Psalm twenty three, and that brought us to
-
the verse where it says he anoints our head with oil.
-
He anoints our head with oil. And last week we
-
were talking about three anointings for three enemies. Three anointings
-
for three enemies. Who can tell me what those three
-
enemies are? Play it out loud, send Satan's self. Yeah,
-
that's another way of saying. How about the other way?
-
What's the world the flesh and the devil God by
-
the Shepherd Lord yahweh Rohi gives us three anointings four
-
three enemies. The Shepherd anoints our head with oil. So
-
if you are we talked about flies, scab and conflict,
-
and the flies represent the enemy bring us pestering, troubling,
-
tormenting thoughts. But the shepherd wants to annoint our heads
-
to drive away the flies. That would be the devil
-
and then talked about sin and contamination from the world.
-
That's the scab, and that's the world obviously, and there's
-
a lot of saying, a lot of contamination out there
-
that would try to infect us. And oftentimes sheep get
-
infected by coming into contact with infected sheep. They're uninfected,
-
but they come in contact with uninfected sheep. That's why
-
you have to guard who you run with, who you
-
butty up with, who you fellowship with, because you can
-
get infected, even unintentionally. And that would be the world.
-
But the Shepherd wants to anoint our heads to keep
-
the scab away or to heal the scab. And then
-
the third anointing was for friction and strife and butting heads.
-
You know, people like sheep tend to like to I
-
don't know if they like it, but they do it.
-
They butt heads. Somebody asked me this week about two
-
people I know. They said, do they tend to butt heads?
-
I said, yeah, they on occasion, I've seen of that. Well,
-
if our heads are anointed by the shepherd, if two
-
heads that are anointed they go to butt has, they
-
just slide off one another. That's walking in a gape love. Boy,
-
that's important in a marriage, you both be anointed, walk
-
in love. So whether it's flies or scabs or conflict,
-
what we need to do and just do this intensely
-
on purpose. Just bow your head before the shepherd and say,
-
Shepherd Lord, anoint me this day, anoint my head, free
-
me from any flies, any scab, any conflict. I'm getting
-
ready to go to work. I'm getting ready to go
-
in this place where there's a lot of conflict, a
-
lot of flies, and a lot of scab. I just
-
receive your anointing right now, Shepherd Lord, I bow my
-
head before you, anoint me, anoint my head. He wants
-
us to be free. The shepherd cares. The shepherd cares,
-
think about what do flies and scab and conflict do.
-
They distract, They annoy, they irritate. They take away your peace,
-
They take away your rest, they take away your calm.
-
They can take away your sleep. But the shepherd cares.
-
Shepherd says, I don't want that from my sheep. I
-
want to make you to lie down in green pastures.
-
I want to lead you beside still waters. I want
-
to restore, refresh, renew, revive your soul. So bow your
-
head before the shepherd let him anoint you. We need
-
a greater revelation of the shepherd's care in every aspect
-
of life. You know, it's too common, too typical, too
-
for we as sheep. Dumb sheep, I might add tend
-
to be to say, well, I've got to do this
-
on my own. I've got to figure this out. I've
-
got to make this happen. But we need to get
-
this revelation when we're thinking that way, when that's happened,
-
to say, wait a minute, the shepherd cares, and army sheep,
-
what am I doing trying to make this happen, trying
-
to figure this out, trying to do it on my own.
-
The shepherd cares, army sheep, shepherd, Lord, just annoy me,
-
help me right now, refresh me, renew me, Lead me
-
beside the still waters, Lead me in paths of righteousness,
-
Make me to lie down and pastures. This shepherd cares.
-
We have a shepherd who cares. Sheep in and of
-
themselves are defenseless, helpless. We need to stay close to
-
the shepherd. The enemy wants to irritate us, annoy us,
-
rob us of peace and rest and refreshing. He wants
-
to steal that from us, Then Jesus say, the thief
-
comes to steal, kill and destroy. Even those thoughts and
-
things I got can rob us of deep RESTful sleep.
-
That can rob your health, can rob your of energy,
-
rob your vitality. It seems lately I've heard so many
-
reports of people having trouble sleeping. I think it's a
-
full attack of the enemy. To be honest, maybe it's you.
-
In fact, if it's you, if you've been having trouble sleeping,
-
stand up right now, we're going to pray and take
-
authority over that. Lay down your pride. Stand up right now.
-
If you've been having trouble sleeping, put pride aside, and
-
we're going to take authority over the enemy robbing people sleep.
-
No more, it's got to go. Anybody else before we pray.
-
Don't come to me afterward and say, oh, would you
-
pray for me? I should have had. I should have
-
stood up, but didn't want. You know, I was concerned
-
about what people might think. Forget about that. The shepherd cares.
-
The shepherd cares. Anybody else before we pray, okay, everybody else,
-
just join with me in prayer. May want to stretch
-
your hands towards somebody, or just join with me in prayer.
-
Right now, Father, right now, in the mighty name of Jesus,
-
we pray for these people who stand here before you,
-
as their shepherd is their Lord, Lord God. We pray
-
for deep, RESTful, peaceful sleep. We bind the enemy, We
-
bind the spirit of insomnia. We bind the enemy trying
-
to steal sleep in any way, shape or form. Go
-
in the name of Jesus, and we just thank you Lord.
-
You give your beloved sleep, you give deep RESTful sleep.
-
And we claim that in agree right now for these
-
that are standing in Jesus' name, we receive it. We
-
count it as done in Jesus' name. And those in
-
agreement said, amen, Now you can be seated. Now you're
-
gonna have to enforce that. I believe it's done right there.
-
I was by the spirit of the Lord. So you're
-
gonna need to enforce that. Now. You go to bed
-
tonight and say, thank Lord, I thank you. I receive
-
deep breathful, peaceful sleep. I'm bind the enemy from interrupting
-
my sleep. You should do that every night and then
-
take a scription. Just lay there and chew on it,
-
meditate on it. Just think about it and then just
-
drift off to deep, RESTful sleep. It's a gift God
-
has it for you. So that brings us to the
-
subject of the anointing. He anoints our head with oil.
-
We hear about the anointing, but what is it? Could
-
you give a definition of the anointing? If somebody came
-
up to your new believer or something said, hey, I
-
hear this term the anointing. What is the anointing? And
-
really it depends on what circle it might be. In
-
mainline denominations, you probably won't hear much of anything about
-
the anointing, although you're going to see it's it's part
-
and parts of Christianity. It'd be more in full gospel
-
circles where you hear more about the anointing. So we
-
want to look at the anointing. What is it, what
-
is it for, who is it for? And how does
-
it operate. I've already had some people say that you
-
mentioned the annoying. I want to know. I'm looking forward
-
to knowing more about it and what it's for and
-
how it operates. Ask yourself, do you understand the anointing
-
and the need for it in your life? To live victoriously,
-
to live successfully, to fulfill the world of God, to
-
run the race, to finish the course. We need the
-
anointing of God because the anointing is the help, the power,
-
the presence, the enabling, the equipping of the Holy Spirit
-
to do whatever God has assigned us called us to do.
-
And it's not just in the spiritual, it's in the natural.
-
I believe there are two major mistakes or errors that
-
we as people typically have when it comes to the anointing.
-
Number one is we undervalue it, we minimize it, or
-
we just totally ignore it. And you've got some people
-
about the anointing, they look at you like you got
-
off the bus, just came from Mars or something. A
-
lot of people think they undervalue the anointing, they minimize it,
-
or they just ignore it. The other mistake that people
-
make is over spiritualizing it, like, oh, the anointing, and
-
we tend to think that's only for special people, big
-
name preachers. I don't know an evangelists, people that have
-
special miracle healing ministries are on television, and we tend
-
to think, oh, well, you know Katherine Cooman, she was anointed.
-
Keneth Hagen was anointed Billy Graham. You know he may
-
he was anointed, Benny Hen he's anointed. You know, we think,
-
but that's them, not me. But you're going to see
-
today from the Word of God, that you are anointed,
-
you have an anointing. In fact, close your eyes and
-
just say, I am anointed. I have an anointing. That is,
-
if you're a believer, you are anointed, you have an annoying.
-
You say, well, what for I'm not on television, I
-
don't pray for large crowds of people, And that you're
-
still anointed. You have a vocation, a calling, and you
-
need the anointing to successfully function. Now we're going to
-
see that Jesus did what he did in his earthly
-
ministry by that same anointing. In fact, you know he said,
-
I don't what I do, I don't do it of myself.
-
Let's look at that. Let's establish this John chapter five,
-
we'll just look at I could get. I mean, there's
-
I've got marked in just in John probably over a
-
dozen scriptures that bear this out. We're going to look
-
at a few here, John chapter five, verse seventeen. But
-
Jesus answered them, my father worketh hitherto and I work. Notice,
-
he said, my Father works, therefore I work Verse nineteen.
-
Then answered Jesus said to them, verily, verily, I say
-
unto you, the son can do nothing of himself. When
-
Jesus came to earth, Philippians two tells us he emptied
-
himself of divine privileges, and he came here as a man,
-
anointed by the spirit of God, all God, but all man.
-
We can't figure it out, don't try to. But he
-
was all God and all man. It's called by theologians
-
the hypostatic union. But he came here to minister as
-
a man, and to show us how things were to
-
be done. He says, the son can do nothing of himself,
-
but what he seeth the Father do, said, I can't
-
do anything of myself in his humanity, but what he
-
sees the Father do. For whatever he does, these also
-
do it the son likewise or in the same manner.
-
Look at verse thirty. I can of mine own self
-
do nothing, you know that's true of you and me,
-
anything of lasting value, anything of eternal value. I can
-
of my own self do nothing. You can of your
-
own self do nothing. That's just what Jesus said John fifteen,
-
where he said, I'm the vine, you're the branches. The
-
only way the branches can bear fruit is to be
-
connected to the vine. He said, without me, you can
-
do nothing. We have to have that vine life. We
-
have to be connected to the vine. I can, of
-
my own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge,
-
and my judgment is just because I seek not mine
-
own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.
-
Go to John eight. John eight twenty eight then said
-
Jesus to them, when you have lifted up the son
-
of Man, then shall you know that I am He.
-
Now this really tweaked him, because, uh well, it doesn't
-
show up here on the screen. It shows up in
-
my Bible, probably yours. The word he that's in italics,
-
meaning the translators added it. It's not in the original Greek.
-
They added it in order to help clarify. I think
-
they did a great disservice, because really, Jesus said, when
-
you've lifted up the son of Man, then you shall
-
know that I am capital, I capital, A capital, M
-
I am hearkening back to the God who spoke to Moses.
-
When Moses said, who should I say sent me? He said,
-
tell them, I am sent you and now Jesus is
-
claiming to be deity. Here he said I am. He
-
said that. He said the I am phrase numerous times
-
in John, and the translator has always had he and
-
you just lose the whole impact of what it's saying.
-
Now some translations have taken that he is allowed clearer
-
when you read it, but it should be capital I
-
capill a capital M. He said, when you lift up
-
the son of man, then you shall know that I am.
-
There was those kind of statements where they wanted to
-
throw him over a cliff and stoney. How there a man.
-
Isn't this the carpenter's son. We know his mother marrying
-
his father, Joseph. He's claiming to be God killing That's
-
why they brought him before the Sanhedrin. He said, this
-
man blasphemes, claims to be God, and that I do
-
nothing of myself. He's divine, but he was human. I
-
do nothing of myself. But as my father has taught me,
-
I speak these things. Notice verse twenty nine. And he
-
that sent me is with me. The Father has not
-
left me alone. For I do always those things that
-
please him. I do always those things that please him.
-
Go to John fourteen verse ten, John fourteen ten. Believest
-
thou not that I am in the Father. Believest thou
-
not that I am in the Father and the Father
-
in me. The words that I speak under you, I
-
speak not of myself. But the Father that dwelleth in me,
-
he doeth the works. The Father that dwelleth in me,
-
he does the works. He said, I don't do this
-
on myself. Now we're going to see. You know, he
-
keeps making this statement, I don't do this. How did
-
he do it? Well, we know by the Father, but
-
want to see the equipment the Father gave him to
-
do it. Verse eleven. Believe me that I am in
-
the Father and the Father and me, or else believe
-
me for the very works sake, verily, verily, I say
-
unto you. Now notice this, he that believeth on me,
-
he that believeth on me, the works that I do,
-
shall he do. Also. Now, if he was doing it
-
as divine as God, we couldn't do those works. But
-
if he was doing it by a man, as a
-
man anointed by the spirit of God, which he was,
-
then he can make this statement, the works that I do,
-
you'll do also. Remember another place they came to him,
-
They said, Master, what must we do to do the
-
works of the Father. And Jesus didn't rebuke him or
-
say watch your mouth. What are you saying? Who dare
-
you to think that you can do the works of God?
-
Don't you realize I'm the son of God. I'm the
-
only one that can do these works. To think you
-
could do the word? No, he said, this is the
-
work of God. Believe on him. The little Greek is
-
believe and keep on believing. That's what he's saying. Here,
-
he's saying, if you verse twelve fairly, I said to you,
-
he that believes and keeps on believing. Now, this isn't
-
in me, this is on me. And we'll look at
-
this next week. We gonna look next week at how
-
to release the anointing. I want to have time to
-
get into it today, but we're gonna look at releasing
-
the anointing. You can, on purpose by hooking up with God,
-
release the anointing in your life, release it in your situation,
-
release it when you're praying for the sick. And one
-
of the keys is not just to believe in Jesus,
-
but to believe on Jesus. There's a big difference. And
-
we'll look at that next time. But he's saying, believe
-
and keep on believing on Jesus, and you'll do the
-
works that I do also, and greater works, not greater
-
in quality, but greater in quantity. Because all the believers
-
are to be doing the works. Then that these shall
-
he do. Because I go to my Father. Whatever you
-
shall ask in my name, that will I do. That
-
the Father may be glorified in the sun. If you
-
shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
-
So how did he do it? He said, I don't
-
do anything on myself. I don't even speak of myself.
-
How did he do it? Go to Luke chapter four.
-
Luke chapter four, he said, at the very onset of
-
his ministry, he comes to the synagogue in Nazareth, he
-
stands up, as the custom was, he went in as
-
his custom was no Verse sixteenth. And he came to
-
Nazareth where he had been brought up, and as his
-
custom was, his custom was to be in church every week.
-
That should be our custom. You know, if Jesus was
-
here today, he'd be in church every Sunday. Back then
-
it was the Sabbath, and the Jews he was there
-
every Sabbath. That was his custom. Should be our custom
-
to honor the Lord this way, at least once a week.
-
We should do it every day. But to gather together,
-
that was his custom. And he went into the synagogue
-
on the Sabbath day and stood up to read, and
-
there was delivered on in the book of the prophet Isaiah.
-
And when he had opened the book, he found the place.
-
He deliberately found this place. They really want a book.
-
It was a scroll, and he found the place, took
-
the time to find it where it was written. And
-
then he said this what Isaiah said prophetically of him.
-
He said, the spirit of the Lord is upon me
-
because he has anointed me. He said, the spirit is
-
on me because he's anointed me. He said, the spirit's
-
on me because I'm anointed. And I'm anointed because the
-
spirit's on me. The Holy Spirit is the anointing. It's
-
not the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That's something different.
-
It's a vital part of it. The baptism of that's
-
a vital part of it. But this is after the
-
baptism of the hoi Spirit, beyond the baptism of the
-
Holy Spirit, operating in the power and the enabling of
-
the Holy Spirit by the anointing, the tangible presence of God.
-
Will look at it more as we go. But notice
-
Jesus said this, This is how he did what he did.
-
He said, the spirit of the Lord is upon me
-
because he has anointed me. He's annoying to me. In fact,
-
hold your place here and go to Acts chapter ten,
-
Acts chapter ten. In verse thirty eight, Peter is preaching
-
here and he were breaking in here. For time's sake. Well,
-
let's read verse thirty four. Because Peter opened his mouth
-
that of a truth. I perceive that God is no
-
respector of persons. God is no respector of persons. Now,
-
those who were in the discipleship class heard today because
-
I overheard. It's God is no respect for persons. But
-
he is a respector of faith. He's a rewarder of
-
those who diligently seek him. But notice verse thirty eight.
-
Peter says, you heard know how God anointed, How God anointed,
-
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost.
-
He was anointed because of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said
-
to spear, the Lord is upon me because He's anointed me.
-
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost
-
and with power Dunamus, miracle working power, who went about
-
doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
-
Sickness and disease. According to the Bible, is oppression of
-
the devil, not something sent by God to teach us.
-
It's oppression of the devil. For God was with him.
-
God anointed Jesus. Go back to Luke, for that's how
-
Jesus did what he did by this anointing. Now let's
-
look at some of what he did. Notice Luke four eighteen.
-
The spear of the Lord is upon me, Jesus says,
-
because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to
-
the poor. He's anointing me too, and sent me to
-
heal the broken hearted. He's anointed me to preach deliverance
-
to the captives. He's anointing me to bring recovery of
-
sight to the blind. He's anointing me to set at
-
liberty them that are bruised. He's anointing me to preach
-
the acceptable year of the Lord, which is speaking of
-
the year of Jubilee, the fiftieth year where everybody goes free.
-
The acceptable year of the Lord was a year of jubilee,
-
and Jesus basically saying, the jubilee is here. Everybody goes free.
-
I am your jubilee. Jesus is our jubilee. Hallelujah. We
-
go free. And Paul says in Galatians five to one,
-
stand fast in that freedom wherein Christ has made you free.
-
You gotta stand fast, and you gotta lay hold of
-
it and not let go of it. The devil wants
-
to take it from you. But Jesus said, the spirit
-
of the Lord is upon me because He's anointed me
-
to preach the Gospel to the poor. Jesus was anointed
-
to preach the Gospel, the good News to the poor poor,
-
not just materially or financially poor, but spiritually poor poor
-
in any way, he says, I'm anointed to preach the
-
Gospel to the poor. Now, what is it that most
-
Christians feel inadequate to do, feel ill equipped to do,
-
and oftentimes they're fearful of doing. Sharing the good News,
-
preaching the Gospel with their coworkers, with their neighbors, with
-
their friends, with their relatives, with strangers, people that come
-
in contact with a very, very very small percentage of
-
believers witnesses shares their faith, and an even smaller has
-
ever led anybody to the Lord. And yet the great
-
commission jesaid, go yee to all his followers into all
-
the world, and preach the good news. It's the great commission.
-
It has been termed the Great Omission. However, by the
-
way many live their lives. So you know, some might say, yes,
-
I do feel ill equipped to preach the good news.
-
Do you know there's an anointing to do it? And
-
you can tap into that anointing now without getting too
-
don't over spiritualize in your mind. Basically, let me break
-
it down real simple. The help of the Holy Spirit.
-
The Holy Spirit will help you share your faith to
-
know what to say, when to say it, and how
-
to say it. If you say, Lord, thank you for
-
the anointing. Thank you for helping me share my faith
-
and receive that anointing. You notice Jesus he did this.
-
The one woman he met at the well, he says,
-
he said, how he approached her, He said, go and
-
call your husband. Now he could have said, woman, you're
-
a pretty bad sinner. You've had five husbands and you're
-
living with somebody now outside of marriage. But he just said,
-
go and call your husband. She said, Lord, I don't
-
have a husband. He said, you've rightly spoken because you've
-
had five husbands and the one you're living with now
-
is not your husband. And she went into the village
-
and said, come and see a man who told me
-
everything there is about me. Well, she won the whole
-
village to Christ. Well, he was led by the spirit
-
on what to say and how to say it. When
-
they came to him with the woman caught in adultery,
-
they said, what are we supposed to do? He said, well,
-
you know the law said stone or kill her grace
-
and Mercy said let her go. But if he went
-
either way, it was one of those blank if you
-
do and blank if you don't. Situations. He said, well, okay,
-
who's ever got the first? Who's there without sin? You
-
throw the first stone? And it says, one by one,
-
beginning with the eldest. They walked away. They just dropped
-
their stones and walked away. He said to Nicodemus, who
-
came to him at night, teacher of the ruler of
-
the Jews, and he said, he didn't say to him,
-
didn't identify And he said, or anything. He said, Nick,
-
you gotta be born again. That's why he's called nicket
-
Knight anyway. So so, first case of nicket Knight, just
-
like you know when Jesus cast those demons out of
-
those pigs, or cast a demon out of the demoniac
-
and they went into the pigs. First case of deviled
-
ham in the Bible. Anyway, Well, I can't keep going.
-
Don't encourage me. So but he said to Nicodemus, He said, Nicodemus,
-
you must be born again. And Nicodemus said, what How
-
can an old man go back into his mother's womb.
-
He said, I'm not talking about a physical rebirth. I'm
-
talking about a spiritual He had him hooked right there.
-
He became one of his followers. How did he do that?
-
He said, I don't say anything of myself. He did
-
it by the anointing. The spirit of the Lord is
-
upon me. He's annoying me to preach. You are anointed
-
to preach. You are annointed to share the good news.
-
And I can hear some people saying right now, well,
-
hold on, pastor Tim that was Jesus. That doesn't mean
-
I'm anointed this way, all right? Since you brought that up.
-
Hold your place there. Go to Second Corinthians Chapter one.
-
Second Corinthians, Chapter one. I hope you like getting into
-
your bibles. I mean that needs to be the solid
-
foundation of our lives. I don't believe in these churches
-
where you go and they read one verse, if that's
-
if that, and that's all you hear about the Bible.
-
Look at Second Corinthians, chapter one, verse twenty seen Corinthians
-
one twenty. For all the promises of God in Him
-
in Christ are yea and in Him amen under the
-
glory of God by us. Now note verse twenty one.
-
Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and
-
half anointed us is God half anointed. Is that past, present,
-
or future tense? Say that loud, Past, present or future.
-
It's not a trick question. You did have English class
-
right when you grew up. Past present or future past.
-
It's not present tense, although it does have present abiding results.
-
It's not future. He's not saying someday, when you reach
-
a certain spiritual level, you will be annoyed. Now he
-
says you are anointed, since he didn't say, now when
-
you get to the level, say Katherine Coohman was at
-
then you'll be anointed. No, now she operated. I said,
-
you know, these well known people, they have these special
-
callings and ministries. They are anointed, and a lot of
-
times have a special anointing. But you've got an anointing
-
for what you're called to do, what your vocation is.
-
I mean Katherine Cooman was anointed. Our director at Team
-
Challenge said that he went to one of her meetings
-
and he and I wish Penny was here, she could
-
help me. Remember six or eight she's in the nursery,
-
but I think it was eight other He and seven
-
other pastors or eight of them were all skeptics. They
-
said this, you know, because Katheryne Cooman dealt with a
-
lot of skepticism, One because she was a woman, and
-
two she was really different who he ain't by familiar
-
with Catherine Coleman, raise your hand. I mean she'd come
-
out in these flowing silky ropes, Ah, precious ones, Jesus
-
is here, you know, honesty. So she dealt with a
-
lot of flak. So these eight preachers were on the
-
front row with skeptics. They said, this is a sam
-
these people being healed and miracles and falling under the power.
-
You know, where the power God be so strong. I mean,
-
when the supernatural comes into contact with the natural, something's
-
got to give, and it's not going to be the supernatural.
-
And when the supernatural anointing of God comes into contact
-
with the natural, the natural gifts. That's why people fall
-
under the power sometimes. Well, these eight preachers were sitting
-
on the front row with skeptics. They said, we're gonna
-
show this woman. She doesn't know what she's talking about.
-
YadA YadA. You know. Katherine Cooman comes walking in from
-
the side. They're on the front. Everybody's standing. I think
-
they were all singing or something like that. They didn't
-
even know she was coming. And she just comes walking by.
-
These eight preachers, didn't touch them, didn't pray for me.
-
Bam bam, bam, bam, bam, bam bam. All eight of
-
them fell under the power. Well made believers out of
-
all eight of them because they didn't do it willingly.
-
She was anointed. But here it says He has anointed us.
-
God has anointed us. You are anointed well. Bible says,
-
in the mouth of two or three witnesses, Let every
-
fact be established. Go to first John, First John, Chapter two.
-
Hold your place in Luke four for coming back. First
-
John chapter two, verse twenty. Well, let's go to eighteen
-
little children. It is the last time. And as you
-
have heard that Antichrist shall come. Even now, there are
-
many Antichrist by which we know that it is the
-
last time. The spirit of Antichrist is in the world.
-
Have you discovered life can be tough. That's why we
-
need the anointing. Life can be hard, life can be rough,
-
and we need the anointing in these times. It's really
-
the last times. We're closer to the end than we've
-
ever been in history. And just look at the headlines.
-
Even now, there are many Antichrist by which we know
-
that it is a life last time. They went out
-
from us, but they were not of us. For if
-
there had been of us, they would no doubt have
-
continued with us. But they went out that they might
-
be made manifest that they were not all of us.
-
Now those verse twenty. But you have an unction from
-
the Holy One. Anointing another word for anointing in facts.
-
And if you've got a Bible that reads anointing instead
-
of unction, okay, there's some there. You have an anointing
-
in fact. My Bible has this cross reference two Corinthians
-
one twenty one that we just read, He has anointed us.
-
You have an unction. You have an anointing. You not
-
Katherine Cooman, not Kenneth Hagen, not Benny hent. You have
-
an anointing from the Holy One, from God. You have
-
an anointing. You might say, well, what do I need
-
an anointing? Fur to do what God has called you
-
to do, to run the race, to finish the course.
-
And it's not just only spiritual. It's natural to do
-
your job. You know, there's an anointing to do your job.
-
You may be a secretary, you may be a construction worker,
-
you may be an executive, you may be Jeff that
-
Bob Dylan songs running through my mind, those words you
-
gotta serve somebody. But there's an anointing for that, and
-
you gotta taping. You know. In the Old Testament, when
-
they were building the Ta Tabernacle, has said they certain
-
ones He named specifically Bezilel and o Holyab. They were
-
anointed by God, anointed to do embroidery and tapestry in
-
the work of building, annointed to preach or prophesi or
-
pray for the city. They were anointed to do natural
-
work when they built the tabernacle. God's anointing. What's on
-
people to do what God wanted to tell us who
-
wanted to done? You have an anointing to do what
-
God wants you to do. It's your what I need
-
to finish this. But don't let me. Don't let me
-
go anywhere else after we leave here until Ephesians till
-
we go to Phesians four Pheasians four next in case
-
I forget all right, but you have an anointing from
-
the Holy One and you know all things. Now, it's
-
not saying you know everything that's ever. I mean, that's obvious.
-
I don't think that needs any explanation. But he's saying,
-
when you're operating in the anointing, you'll know what you
-
need to know. Somebody will come to you and say,
-
you know, like Jesus, well, i'm marvel the way he did.
-
I want to be more like that. They'd come then
-
they try and trap him, you know, tricking, and they'd say,
-
you know, well, should we pay taxes to Caesar or not.
-
He'd say, well, show me a coin. His inscription is
-
on caesars, render the Caesar things that are caesars rendered
-
to God and things that are God's and they leave
-
him for a season. They came back. They sent people
-
to rest him, and they came back and they said,
-
what are you doing? Where's Jesus? Never a man spoke
-
like this man. But he said, I don't say anything
-
of my own. It's the anointing. The spirit of the
-
Lord is upon me. He has anointed me to preach,
-
to proclaim good news. He wasn't anointed just to stand
-
before crowds and proclaim. He was anointed just like you
-
are anointed to speak if we tap into anointing. How
-
the things we do to hinder the anointing. We'll look
-
at that, hopefully next week. But oh, I want you
-
to get excited about this. How you can So many
-
times we try and do things on our own when
-
we need to tap into the anointing the Holy Ghost.
-
Then did Jesus say time and again, I'm leaving. But
-
it's to your advantage that I go away, because I'm
-
sending the helper the pericleat the one called alongside to
-
help the comfort of the counselor he's the helper called
-
alongside to help. No matter what you do, there's an
-
anointing that you can tap into, and I think so
-
many times we just don't even think to We just say, oh,
-
I gotta figure this out. I gotta do this. I mean,
-
I've been at this quite a while and I'm just
-
getting myself as I started to say this, like wow,
-
I haven't been taken advantage of the anointing like I should.
-
I had uh my day off this this week. I
-
had uh two plumbing things that I needed to deal with.
-
And I don't know about you, but I don't like
-
dealing with plumbing. In fact, a person, a friend of
-
mine that's in construction and does all kinds of different
-
I mean from all electrical plumbing, building, roofing, all kinds
-
of thing, he said to me one time, he said,
-
I hate plumbing. He said, I hate it. He said,
-
because you don't ever know where that water is coming
-
from and where it's going. He said, it can be
-
here and it's coming from clear over there, and you
-
don't realize it. Why is it coming out here when
-
it's come when it's way over there? He said, I
-
hate plumbing, And ever since he said that, I'm I
-
think the same thing. But I had In fact, I
-
had a plumber, don't let me get off of where
-
I was, and don't forget Ephesians four. But I had
-
a we had a we had a seat a sink
-
in our downstairs bathroom and it was dripping and I
-
couldn't find where the drip was. I mean, I saw
-
it coming and I'm under there was a fly slide,
-
and I'm looking and I'm like, where is this coming from?
-
I can't figure it out. I'm trying, and so I thought, well,
-
talk to a friend of mine. He said, well, it's
-
probably the cartridge in the in the in the stem there.
-
You got to get that out. And I couldn't get out.
-
I couldn't figure out how to get it out. He
-
came over and looked at it. He couldn't figure out
-
how to get it out. Or turned out it was
-
calcified on there, and we didn't we didn't want to
-
break it or anything. So but anyway, so I called
-
this plumber friend of mine to come and look at it.
-
And I showed it to him and I said, well,
-
look it's dripping under there and everything, and you know
-
that's where the water was and he and I said, so,
-
you know, have at it. And he stands here like this,
-
thinking that the leak is underneath in the cabinet. What
-
are you doing? And he's just kind of looking at it,
-
and I'm thinking, I'm not paying you to admire the porcelain.
-
You know. It's like, get under there with a fly
-
slight and find out where this leak is. So I
-
said to him again, I said, well, if you go
-
under there, you can see it dripping down. And he goes, yeah,
-
I heard you stands there longest time. I just wanted
-
to go get Penny. He said, Penny, talk to this guy,
-
you know, it's like. So then he goes, I think,
-
I see your problem. And the you know, there's a
-
hole there where it gets mounted, and it had shifted
-
over just enough where yes, that cartridge was leaking, but
-
it was going around and finding that little inkling of
-
a hole. And he said, this needs to be moved over,
-
or anytime you get water up here and splashing, it's
-
going to go down in there. So he didn't think
-
it's moved it over a little bit, stopped leaking. I thought,
-
he's anointed. He's anointed to do the plumbing. And then
-
and then you know, my friend, I both tried to
-
get the cartridge out and we said we can't get
-
it out. We know we got to get in there
-
and get it out. And by this time, I'm saying, hey,
-
have had it. You want some tea, you know, a coffee,
-
anything like that. Take your time. So then you know,
-
he takes this fine little screwdriver and he starts prying it,
-
and I think you're gonna break it. And he's prying it,
-
prying it and popped it off and become calcified, pulls
-
out the cartes, say yep, you need a new one.
-
Thought he's anointed. So now how'd I get on that? Okay?
-
So my day office, we got two plumbing issues. One
-
with our refrigerator that I the line running in for
-
the war. I had to put a shut off valve
-
on there and put some some plex line on it.
-
And I'm thinking, no, I don't like these plumbing things.
-
And I'm not a plumber, but I'm frugal enough. I
-
don't want to spend money to have somebody come in
-
and do it. So I thought I'm going to do it,
-
you know. And uh, but that morning I said, Lord,
-
I'm believing you give me an anointing to fix these
-
plumbing problems. I'm believing for an anointing. So I'm going
-
in there and you know, I got the refrigerator pulled
-
out and I'm doing what I need to do, and uh, Sarah,
-
I said, Sarah, I'm gonna need you to go down.
-
I turned off the water. I said, I need you
-
to go down. And when I uh, yeah, you turn
-
the water on. If you hear me yell again, turn
-
it off. So because I'd done what I needed to do,
-
and uh so I said, all right, turn it on.
-
She turns it on and shit's leaking. Uh No, I
-
got anointing, and I said, turn it off. So I
-
made some adjustments and tightened a little bit more because
-
I always over tightened. Penny calls me mister overdue. So
-
I've heard that for fort thirty some years. So now
-
I tend to be more careful because I've broken a
-
lot of things. If tight is good, tighter is better.
-
So uh, but I've learned not to. I've learned to
-
go with tight, not tighter. Actually I used to be
-
tight is If tight is good, tighter is better, and
-
tightus has got to be the great and then break. Uh,
-
Penny said, mister overdue, did you say preach it. Yes. So,
-
uh so I've tightened it up a little bit more
-
and it's like, okay, it's not leaking. I said, well,
-
I didn't know. I said, all right, Sarah turned it
-
on and she turns it on and I'm looking at
-
the flash sight and it's yes, no leaks. And I
-
hear a voice from downstairs, Dad, there's water dripping all
-
over down here. What it wasn't even at the refrigerator.
-
It was over by the toilet, that same toilet I replaced,
-
Steff and uh, it was over there dripping. And she goes,
-
I don't know what's going on there, but it's coming
-
down here pretty strong. You're annoying that. I'm not have that.
-
I'm gonna go see how David's doing. Call me if
-
you need me. So I go down there and it's
-
like water dripping down. I go, oh, it's that same
-
place where it was leaking before and I had to
-
replace the toilet. We got a brand new toilet. What's
-
going on here? So I go up there and I
-
prayed that morning, Remember Lord, I'd believe you for the
-
anoint team to get this done. I'm not a plumber.
-
I'm a preacher. Look at these hands. They're not plumber hands.
-
I had one one one guy shake my hand. He goes, wow,
-
nice soft hands. He said, those are preacher hands, those
-
on construction hands. And uh uh Seasian's four. I get
-
to that. But uh so I go down there and
-
I go back up and I look at the toilet
-
and I'm going, oh boy, it's leaking. Sarah go back
-
down there, turn it off, and I make some adjustments,
-
and I think maybe that did it. I took it
-
back apart some lines and tighten some things up. I said,
-
all right, turn it on. She turned it on. No leaks.
-
I say yes. And that only took like what ten
-
and a half hours? I think it was. No, we
-
had it probably about an hour less. Had it done,
-
and I thought, I need to start tapping into the
-
anointing more now without over spirits. I'm just asking the
-
Holy Spirit to help us. That's all that is. You know.
-
The anointing sounds so spiritual, but it's just asking the
-
Holy Spirit to help us, to come on us and
-
help us. Now, notice he says, you have an unction,
-
you have an anointing from the Holy One. You know
-
all things go to Verse twenty seven. We'll wrap this up.
-
We didn't get it all in, but we got some
-
of it in verse twenty seven. But the anointing which
-
you someday in the sweet by and bye will receive
-
from Him will then abide in you. No, but the
-
anointing which you have received, past, present or future tense.
-
Say loud, past the anointing which you have received. Say
-
this with me, I have received an anointing. Now say
-
it like you mean it. I have received in anointing.
-
One more I have received in anointing. The anointing which
-
you have received of Him abides in you. And you
-
need not let any man teach you. Now this is
-
insaying you don't need people to teach. We don't need
-
people to teach us the Bible, and we know everything
-
that's not what it's saying. You can study it out
-
and not time to get into what he's saying is
-
when you're operating that anointing, God will give you supernatural wisdom,
-
knowledge and understanding to know what to do to preach
-
the good news or the poor, to know what to
-
say to heal the broken hearted. I want to get
-
to that too. You need not that any man teach you.
-
But as the same anointing teaches you of all things,
-
and is truth.
-
And and and I guess I'll have to go to Okay,
-
and there's no line.
-
Even as that taught you, even as it hath taught you,
-
the anointing has taught you, you shall abide in him. Okay,
-
I got a few minutes. Go to Ephesians four. Look
-
at me at a Pheesian four. You have an anointing.
-
He hath anointed you Seasian four to one. I. Therefore,
-
the prisoner of the Lord beseech you that you walk
-
worthy of the vocation to which you are called. You
-
have a vocation. It's not your job. Don't think of it. It
-
doesn't say walk worthy of whatever job you're working. You
-
have a vocation. Now, whatever job you're working, you have
-
a vocation in that job. It's to be a minister
-
of Jesus Christ. A representative of Jesus Christ. Paul said
-
in Corinthians, we are his ambassadors. We are ministers of reconciliation.
-
So matter whatever job you have, factory, office, school, whatever,
-
that's what you're doing. That's what's paying the bills. But
-
you have a vocation. Your vocation is go back there,
-
Luke chapter four, Luke, chapter four, hopefully held your finger there.
-
We'll take it up from here next time. This is
-
your vocation, Luke, Chapter four, verse eighteen. The spirit of
-
the Lord is upon me because he's anointing me to
-
preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted,
-
to preach deliverance to the captives, recovery of sight to
-
the blind, set of livery them the bruce, to preach
-
the acceptable Year of the Lord. That's your vocation, that's
-
my vocation. This isn't just for full time preachers. This
-
is for everybody. That's the vocation of which we are calling.
-
Are we not to preach the gospel? Yes? Are we
-
not to heal the broken hearted? Yes? Are we not
-
to bring deliverance to the captives? Yes? Are we not
-
to bring recovery of sight to the blind? Not just
-
physically blind, but spiritually blind as well. People they dare
-
in darkness, they can't see. We're to bring light to them. Yes.
-
Are we not to set at liberty them that are
-
bruised and hurting and wounded, and we are to bring
-
them healing and wholeness. Yes? Are we not to preach
-
the Year of Jubilee? The year of freedom. Yes, that's
-
your vocation, and you have an anointing to help you
-
do that vocation. Now, I take this scripture and I'll
-
tell you, first time I started doing this, I was
-
impressed by the spirit to do it, and I did
-
it with a little bit of fear and trembling because
-
I thought, that's Jesus' word. Can I take that and
-
personalize it? But I say my prayer time and I
-
just started to pray. I thank you Lord. The spirit
-
of the Lord is upon me. He's anointing me to
-
preach the gospel to the poor. He sent me to
-
heal the broken hearted, deliverance to the captives, recovery of
-
sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that
-
are bruised, to preach the acceptable Year of the Lord.
-
I'm anointed to do those things because He's in me,
-
and I'm his child, and he's my shepherd, and I'm
-
his sheep, and I'm his ambassador and I'm his representative.
-
And he gave me a commission to go and preach
-
and heal and deliver and set free no matter what
-
my job is. If I was working in a factor
-
in office and not doing what I'm doing I'd still
-
have that same vocation to preach to bring healing. The
-
world is full of people who are lost in darkness,
-
who are hurting, who are wounded, who are bruised or outcasts,
-
who are bound by dictions and all kinds. They need
-
to know Jesus our jubilee has come. And who's going
-
to tell them? The angels aren't, That's not their job.
-
Who's going to tell him? He said, we are to
-
tell him? These signs will follow those who believe in
-
my name, they'll do these things. How are we going
-
to do it? By the anointing? The works that I do,
-
you'll do also? How did Jesus do them? The spirit
-
of the Lord is upon me because he's anointed me.
-
You have an anointing from the Holy One. He who
-
has established us and called us and has anointed us
-
is God. We need to tap into that anointing. That
-
holy goes power, holy goes presence, holy goes help, and
-
it begins as simply as just asking for it, recognizing it,
-
recognizing it and asking for it. He's a gentleman. He's
-
not going to force his way in on us. He's
-
not going to bully up and say step aside. I'm here,
-
I'll take care of this. Just move aside. No, he
-
waits for us to call on him. Holy Spirit, help me,
-
Holy Spirit, help me to do this job. I'm going
-
into the office right now and it's looking like a
-
gnarly day. Holy Spirit helped me anoint me for this day. Oh,
-
I've got this project. I've got this thing. I got
-
to figure out. Holy Spirit, anoint me for this. Oh boy,
-
I feel like, Lord, you want me to go talk
-
to this person, tell them about you. Anoint me. Lord,
-
give me the right things to say. Help me, Lord, God,
-
I got all these studies to do this work. To do.
-
Anoint me, Lord Brook. There's an anointing at school you
-
can tap into to get that degree. In finish. Thank
-
you Lord for the anointing. The Holy Spirit wants to
-
help you and use you no matter what you do.
-
In a vocation to shine for Jesus. You're making doing
-
some of the best architects been found. They people say,
-
how do you do it? Let me tell you it's Jesus,
-
hallelujah and all of us that way.
-
God wants to anoint us for our vocation to preach,
-
to bring healing, to bring recovery of sight, to send it,
-
liberty them their bruise, to set the captive's free, to
-
let people know Jesus has come and you can be free.
-
Yeah, but I'm just working down at the story, you know,
-
checking people out. That doesn't matter. There's people there that
-
need Jesus everywhere. They need Jesus, our neighborhood, our place
-
of work, our contacts without the days throughout the week,
-
and so many times we're signent because of fear and intimidation.
-
We need to tap into this annoying and say, Lord,
-
I think you've anointed me to preach the good news.
-
You've anointed me to heal the brokenhearted. You've annoyed me
-
to bring deliverance to the captors. You've anointed me to
-
bring recovery of sight to the blind. Hallelujah. Stand up
-
and let's just close our eyes and say that together,
-
and believe for this anointing. Believe for this annoying. We'll
-
go into it more next week on things to do
-
to operate in the anointing. There's things that God tells
-
us in his word that can enhance the anointing. Things
-
to doing the things he says not to do. That
-
will hinder the anointing. We have the anointing either way,
-
it's just whether we're going to flow with it or
-
bottle it up. Say this with me in Jesus' name,
-
I come, and I confess because Jesus is in me
-
and the Spirit is in me, that I am anointed.
-
The spirit of the Lord is upon me. He hath
-
anointed me to preach the good news to the poor.
-
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted. He
-
hath anointed me to preach deliverance to the captives. He
-
has anointed me to bring recovery of sight to the blind.
-
He has anointed me to preach Jesus that jubilee and
-
set captives free. Thank you, Lord for the anointing that
-
I've already been given. Help me to be aware of
-
it in walking it like you desire me to. In
-
Jesus' name. A men, go ahead and be seated. We're
-
going to worship God with our tithes and offerings before
-
we're dismissed. Thank you for listening. We hope that you
-
enjoy today's episode. Don't forget to share and subscribe to
-
this podcast for more. God bless you all.
