-
in good shame and now here's your message.
-
Good morning everyone, and thank you again worship team for
-
that wonderful time that we can come together as a
-
church and worship. We are now on our fourth week,
-
and we've decided as Metro Manila, because Psalm twenty three
-
is so full and just the truth of the Word
-
of God is just so convicting, we decided as a
-
whole Metro Manila to add one more week for our
-
Psalms twenty three as we end by looking at two
-
verses of Psalm twenty three, Verse five and six, and
-
we're going through that today. And I do hope and
-
pray that you have been meditating Psalms twenty three. Palm
-
twenty three has really been a RESTful song for me
-
in the past few months, more than two months already,
-
as I read through Some twenty three, as we sing it,
-
as my kids now have memorized Some twenty three, all
-
of us we feel like knowing that the Lord our
-
yahwehs are shepherd and we lack nothing, and out of
-
that flows almost everything else that we are experiencing internally
-
in our hearts and in our soul that hopefully and
-
eventually would come out in the external. And that's how
-
the Word of God works. I think there's always that
-
inner thing, that the internal thing that God does in
-
our hearts and then later on show it to us
-
externally through our actions, through our decisions, through our lifestyle.
-
And that's my prayer and my hope that as your pastor,
-
as we go through Psalms twenty three, you would get
-
to see the power of the presence of the Shepherd
-
as he leads us anywhere, whether it's through quiet waters,
-
greener pastures, or even through the deepest dark valley. As
-
what we mentioned last week and today we're going to
-
end our series on the Psalms twenty three, and Psalms
-
twenty three says, the Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing,
-
makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me
-
beside quiet waters. He refreshes my soul. He guides me
-
along the right path for His namesake. Even though I
-
walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
-
for you are with me. Your rod and your staff.
-
They comfort me, you know. And this was the first
-
three weeks. As we look through Psalm twenty three, after
-
passing through the darkest valley with the shepherd right beside us,
-
what happened next? How did David end this song and
-
pen this song in the end? And he says in
-
verse five, you prepare a table before me in the
-
presence of my enemies. You annoyed my head with oil.
-
My cup overflows verse six. For sure, your goodness and
-
love will follow me all the days of my life,
-
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
-
What a wonderful song, such a beautiful song. As we
-
end Psalms twenty three, as we study through this one,
-
that God says that the shepherd after through the dark
-
valley as we pass through, and as we go through
-
the deepest dark night of our soul and all of
-
us we might have deep different valleys that we go through.
-
Some maybe it's because of a sin issue, some it's
-
a trial, some it's a temptation, some it's this pandemic.
-
But whatever you're Facingbo says that at the end of
-
that dark valley, as we pass through the dark valley.
-
The shepherd prepares a table before us, in the presence
-
of our enemies. He annoys our head with oil. Our
-
cup overflows. You know, the shepherd prepares a feast in
-
the presence of my enemies. I know a lot of
-
us miss already. The the feasting la green Hills, span
-
green Hills, sober last grab every time, my party natal
-
my heeling taio fellowships are green Hills feisting and feasting.
-
Explain because your favorite fistinas my it means that my
-
occasional seafood. No. But the shepherd prepares a feast in
-
the presence of our enemies. But I want you to
-
see something. In verse five, you prepare a table before
-
me in the presence of my enemies. You annoyed my
-
head with oil. My cup overflows twice it was mentioned
-
it was the shepherd who initiated, right, it's the shepherd
-
who initiated all this feasting that has happened. And the
-
message version it says, you serve me. My shepherd served
-
me a six courts dinner right in front of my enemies.
-
You revive my drooping head. My cup brims with blessing.
-
I'm thankful because I serve a God who initiates. I know,
-
most of the time I'm thinking, is I have to
-
do this for God to do this? I need to
-
do good so that God would recognize me. But remember
-
where the sheep came from. The sheep came from the
-
darkest night, from the deepest valley. And there might have
-
been doubts in the dark valley. There might be doubts
-
that happen, and it might not have been a very
-
nice experience. Yet after that, who initiates God? You know,
-
this is the story of the Gospel. It is God
-
who serves me a six course dinner. He prepares a
-
feast before me in the presence of my What of
-
my enemies. I don't know who your enemies are, but
-
I'm sure my enemy now is COVID nineteen. That virus
-
is my enemy. The economic crisis that's happened, happening right
-
now is my enemy. But the Bible says, as I
-
follow the leading of the shepherd, he will serve me
-
a six course dinner. He will prepare a table before
-
me in the presence of my enemies. You know what
-
this reminds me of the right This this story reminds
-
me of God's faithfulness. This story just reminds me of
-
how this God has lavishly loved me. This is the
-
story of the Gospel, and this is the story that
-
David wants us to see. I'm showing you this picture
-
because i want you to see that this shepherd, shepherd
-
flavor the Lord. He prepares a table before me, a
-
feast in the presence of my enemies. What is he doing?
-
What is he saying? He's saying to our enemies, this
-
is my child, This is my son, This is my daughter.
-
This is my son who went through the deepest valley.
-
This was my son who has experienced satisfaction, who has
-
experienced shalom, who's gone through the deepest valleys and darkest
-
nights of his life.
-
Yet I prepare a table feast before his enemy so
-
that they might see the favor of God that is
-
upon us. We're going later to pray for favor to
-
come upon all of us today as we let the
-
shepherd lead us Yahweh initiates a feast even after going
-
through the dark valley. Can you know connect comes and
-
familiar story. It's the story of like the prodigal son
-
in the New Testament. This son went through the darkest
-
valley of his life, reveled against the father. But what
-
did the father do? Every day he looks, is my
-
son coming back? And when the son came back, this
-
father ran to his son. And what did he do.
-
He welcomed his son. And after welcoming his son, he
-
gave him his robe again and his signet ring. And
-
he tells them the servants prepare a feast for my son.
-
This is my son. Oh, this picture, And I want
-
us to meditate on this picture. There's something about looking
-
at pictures right for a long time. I want you
-
to look at this picture with me, and I want
-
you to feel the presence of the Father. For those
-
of you who might have attacks of anxiety, for you
-
who have been battling with worry and fear, I want
-
you to look at this picture. I want you to
-
meditate on the love of the Father. The Father welcomes us.
-
The Father prepares a feast before our enemies, the people
-
who might have said this prodigal son is no hope,
-
this prodigal son, his sin is unpardonable. The father prepares
-
a table a feast. The Bible says that he gave
-
him the road, the signatory. It is a demonstration of
-
the heart of a loving father. I just want to
-
say to everyone, the shepherd God yahweh, our shepherd is
-
also our loving father. When he talks about the business
-
of the kingdom, he tells us, but when you pray,
-
pray like this our father word in heaven. It's the
-
demonstration of the heart of a loving father, suppresension and
-
adding patai, you will lack nothing at the very heart
-
of the Father. As we go through the deepest dark
-
valleys of our life, at the end of that trial
-
of that sin, of that backsliding, you can always come home.
-
Why the shepherd has always been there, Gomeron Constant. It
-
is the father demonstration, the heart of the loving Father.
-
You anoint my head with aill, you know what that means.
-
It shows to us not only the favor, but then
-
the anointing talks about the spirit of God. And when
-
we are anointed. When you anoint my head with oil,
-
you're saying I'm chosen all then you see David Bay
-
and then he saw David and he anointed David's head
-
with oil to say he is the chosen one. The
-
Lord is telling us my son, I in shape, my daughter,
-
I in shape. I am your Papa shepherd right. And
-
I annoyed your head with oil because I'm chosen you.
-
Even though you went through the dark valley. Sometimes you
-
run away from me, sometimes you revel against me. You
-
are chosen. I love you so much, and I want
-
your life to be marked with an overflow of my provision,
-
of my love, of my grace, and of my favor.
-
You prepare a table before me in the presence of
-
my enemies. You annoying my head with oil. The Father
-
is saying, I am restoring your position back. We are
-
His sons and his daughters. Whether you put your ma
-
sheep this obey or your Maha sheep obey. I want
-
you to know God looks at you, and God loves
-
you so much, and the presence of God is with us.
-
He annoys my head with oil. I am anointed of God.
-
I'm chosen of God. The spirit of God is on me.
-
See this picture, be amazed the love of the Father.
-
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the
-
days of my life, and I will dwell in the
-
house of the Lord forever. The Bible say, surely, if
-
it's a bit sido. Surely every day before you wake up,
-
even before you put on your makeup. Surely, the goodness
-
or in another translation, the loving kindness. You know, it's
-
funny because many times young English word it cannot fully
-
explain the Hebrew word that was used, and the word
-
loving kindness, goodness and love is the word. He said. Okay, Surely,
-
he said, will follow me all the days of my life,
-
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord.
-
The word has said means covenant loyalty, pre eminently, pre
-
eminently God's perfect loyalty to his own covenant. What does
-
this mean? This tells us that God is fiercely loving
-
and loyal to us, to his own covenant shepherd. Yoo,
-
I am your shepherd. Surely I will be with you.
-
My love, my mercy, my grace, will follow you all
-
the days of your life. You will dwell in my
-
presence forever, he said. Covenant loyalty. I am loyal to you,
-
fiercely guide, and I'm going right. That's he said. I'm
-
laim allow me you Nico. Uh So, some times, you know,
-
we feel like if there's somebody who's so faithful to
-
you and you scratch your head, and you say, bang
-
faithful Sadam. That is his head covenant loyalty pretty imminently.
-
It's God's perfect loyalty to his own covenant. Because I
-
said so, not because of your performance. You see, that's
-
the story of the gospel. It's not because of my performance.
-
Lord Baha so so ibla bless moro, Lord k janka Alemo.
-
Even in our darkest night, the Lord is there. The
-
Lord looks at you. There's always grace. And you know
-
where he said is actually used Lamentations three twenty two
-
to twenty three. We sing this all the time. The
-
steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies are
-
new every morning. The word steadfast love is the word
-
he has said, has said of the Lord, his fierce
-
love and loyalty for you never ceases. In the Rohi
-
hintu jang, his mercies are new every morning, even before
-
you wake up. He's there, he said, is there? He
-
has said, is there? Have you been bad yesterday? That
-
has said of the Lord never ceases. His mercies are
-
new every morning. Have you been bad? In twenty nineteen?
-
That has said, of the Lord never ceases. Have you
-
not followed his will and not followed his living Psalm
-
twenty three one. The Lord is my shepherd. I shall
-
not want you know what he has said never ceases.
-
He will pursue you until you come to a point
-
in your life where you follow the shepherd. Why because
-
he is fiercely loyal to us, and though we are
-
not loyal to him, he has said changes us. That's
-
why the people who have experienced that has said of
-
the Lord, no, something changes. There's a transformation of values
-
of loyalty, because they've now grasped an experience has said,
-
what does it mean for us? If truly the Lord
-
is our shepherd? Imagine mono, how does a life look
-
like if Yahweh is your shepherd? The Bible says, surely
-
every morning prior to you waking up, surely that has said,
-
the steadfast love of the Lord, goodness and mercy will
-
follow you, will chase after you. His beauty, his love
-
would chase after me every day of my life. The
-
message version meron arrow arrow, and sometimes my kids would
-
do this if if happened. Excited Zila magisinka, excited jehabinka,
-
Beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.
-
I'm back home in the House of God for the
-
rest of my life. Today, I want to encourage all
-
of you go back, come home. Let the Shepherd guide you.
-
Let Yahweh be your shepherd. Let Yahweh lead you in
-
quiet water. Let Yahweh bring you to green pastures. Let
-
Yahweh be there in the dark night of your soul.
-
Why because after that, he prepares a table before you,
-
in the presence of your enemies. He annoys your head
-
with oil. Your cup overflows. That's your life. John and
-
Jesus came that I might have life, and have it abundantly.
-
The thief comes to steal, to kill it, to destroy,
-
and call Saban the Lord. You will have a party,
-
will have a fees in the presence of the enemy.
-
Why because sureley his said will follow me, chase me,
-
Ah fiercely loyal to me all the days of my life,
-
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
-
I love this. I want to end. We're going to
-
end our series some twenty three and hope some twenty
-
three will never be the same to you again. It says,
-
for a day in your courts is better than a
-
thousand elsewhere. For a day in the presence of God.
-
In the house of the Lord is better than a
-
thousand elsewhere. Imagine that your most favorite place Disneyland, Star City,
-
Andaan Beach, lockdown for a day in the presence of
-
God is far better than a thousand elsewhere. David now
-
pens this. He says, I would rather be a doorkeeper
-
in the house of my God than dwell in the
-
tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a son
-
and shield. The Lord best knows what favor and honor
-
he annoys my head with oil. No good thing does
-
he withhold surely goodness and mercy, he said, from those
-
who walk uprightly. I want to end. I want to
-
end by saying this to you guys. You know a
-
single day in the course of God is better than
-
a thousand elsewhere. And I want you to understand, right.
-
I want you to be in the presence of our
-
shepherd Father. Yeah, man, you prayer nomine more than matapusto Sanai.
-
May we learn that in the presence of God, there's
-
nothing else that I'm going to look for, nothing else.
-
The day I look forward to is to be in
-
the presence of God. And that's not heaven. That's now
-
that's every day to be in the presence of our
-
shepherd father, our dad, our dad who restores us, dad
-
who blesses us, a dad who is fiercely loyal to us.
-
I don't know how long this would last. I don't
-
know how far this would go, or the effects of this,
-
or how long the dark knight will be for us all.
-
But there's a prayer I pray for our church always.
-
It is this, that we will do well in the house,
-
in the presence of our Lord forever. Let the Shepherd
-
guide us and lead us. I want us to pray
-
as we am. Just close your eyes, maybe hold some body,
-
a family member. You want us to pray. I want
-
to pray Psalm twenty three over everyone. It's such a
-
powerful prayer. The Lord is a shepherd. I shall not want. Lord,
-
you make me lie down in green pasture. You lead
-
me besides still waters. You restore my troubled, disturbed soul.
-
You lead me in the past of righteousness for your
-
name's sake, not my name, your namesake. Even though I
-
walk through the dark valley, I will fear no evil.
-
Even if that valley is the value of shadow of death.
-
I will fear no evil. For you are with me.
-
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare
-
a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
-
There's a feast that you have prepared before me. You
-
annoyed my head with oil. You're saying, you are my father.
-
I am your son. Thank you, Jesus, you are our father.
-
We are your sons and daughters. My cup overflows knowing
-
that you are my abba father, my daddy. My cup overflows. Surely,
-
just like tomorrow. We're sure there's going to be another day. Surely,
-
he said, Your loving kindness, your goodness will follow us
-
all the days of our lives, and we will dwell
-
in the house of the Lord forever. LOI thank you Lord.
-
I speak this over our church. I speak this over
-
everyone listening to this. Let the peace of God be
-
upon you, that the Shepherd guide you in Jesus lead
-
me pray. Amen. Thank you for listening. We hope that
-
you enjoyed today's episode.
