  6. and go ahead and get your communion elements. You don't

  7. need fancy church elements. I've brought some iced tea and

  8. I've brought a ritz cracker, So I'm just trying to

  9. show you be creative because we're going to be partaking together.

  10. It's not how fancy the elements are, but it's the

  11. understanding of what's available through communion and what Jesus has

  12. accomplished for us. Get a pen and paper. If you

  13. did not get the notes, we mailed them out on Friday.

  22. through the notes week by week, because we want you

  23. well informed and well equipped in this hour. Amen. So

  24. we're going to talk about communion, about eat the lamb,

  25. the Old Testament, What does the Old Testament have to say.

  26. We're going to briefly look at this. We're going to

  27. just hit some points and things that I want you

  28. to see today. What we call communion are the Lord's Supper.

  29. All began with the Israelites exodus from Egyptian bondage, and

  30. that began the introduction of passover. Visual lights have been

  31. in a little over four hundred years, and they had

  32. grown into a very powerful nation, and they had God's

  33. favor and blessing on their life, and God knew it

  34. was now time for them to be delivered from this bondage.

  35. They were about to be set free, but there was

  36. one more plague. Of the Egyptians had faced nine, but

  37. there was one more that the Egyptians had to face.

  38. Here's something though, this is something very interesting and unique

  39. about this plague. That the Israelites would be subject to

  40. this plague as well unless they had proper preparation and protection.

  41. Preparation and protection. And this is what I want you

  42. to see about the Lord's Supper for you and I.

  43. We can have preparation for the things that we're facing

  44. right now, and we can have protection. They had to

  45. slay an animal. Most of them would have used the lamb,

  46. So I'll just be referring to a lamb throughout this

  47. and entire ape. That's Christ for us. So when we

  48. get over to the New Testament, you'll see how Christ

  49. fulfilled this. And they were to apply the blood of

  50. the lamb to their home on the sidepost and the

  51. top lentil for our protection. And then they were to

  52. eat the roasted lamb. And those elements are represented for

  53. us in communion. Let's look at two verses in Exodus

  54. chapter twelve, and I want this to come alive to you.

  55. Exodus twelve, verse seven. Then they are to take some

  56. of the blood and put it on the sides and

  57. tops of the door frames of the houses where they

  58. eat the lamb. Verse eight. That same night, they are

  59. to eat the meat roasted over the fire. Now get

  60. this along with bitter herbs. Now, if you're at home,

  61. say that with me. Bitter herbs and braid bread made

  62. without yeas. That verse eight really speaks to me. I

  63. want this to come alive. So the blood was applied

  64. to the door frames in the top lentil, and they

  65. were eat to eat the roasted meat, and they were

  66. to put bitter herbs on the meat in preparation. And

  67. the bread was to be made without yeast, and yeast

  68. in the Bible is always a reference to sin. So

  69. in essence, they were to make this bread leave any

  70. sin behind. They were getting ready to leave exodus and

  71. go out and be brought into the Promised Land eventually,

  72. and we're to leave sin behind, and that we do

  73. that we make a confession of that when we have

  74. communion together. Before things are mentioned here blood, meat, bitter

  75. herbs on the meat, and bread without yeast, specific instructions.

  76. Now I want to bring up a thought here, and

  77. I want you to track with me for a moment,

  78. especially the time we're in history. If you sprinkled the

  79. blood on the doorpost, that's awesome, that's part of the atonement.

  80. Absolutely your salvation in type for us redemption for those

  81. in the Old Testament. Right here the death angel passing

  82. by for us in type when we apply to our

  83. homes the coronavirus passing by any other type of plague,

  84. or any other type of sickness. But to appropriate all

  85. that the atonement meant and what it means for us,

  86. you had to eat the lamb. And if you ate

  87. the lamb, you cooked it. You were to put some

  88. bitter herbs on it. Now here's the deal. The enemy

  89. of our soul, the devil, and his trickery. He would

  90. have us turning things upside down and getting the cart

  91. before the horse, and getting us completely out of balance

  92. in this time, and this is a time for balance

  93. in our life like never before. We need balance in

  94. our lives, in our families. It might be a time

  95. where many are getting their life into balance for the

  96. first time. In what the devil himself back by the

  97. legion of demons and all those forces, he will arrange

  98. for you to have the opportunity to eat more herbs,

  99. more bitter herbs than you eat the nourishing lamb. If

  100. you're not diligent in this critical hour we all live in,

  101. including myself, we can participate in large servings of tribulation

  102. and bitter herbs. The call today March twenty ninth, twenty twenty,

  103. seeing the example in the Book of Exodus, people who

  104. were preparing for their deliverance. You and I preparing for

  105. our freedom in our deliverance. Let's get back to eating

  106. the lamb and slow down on bitter herbs. It's a

  107. choice you make. You have to renew your mind and

  108. you have to stay focused in this hour. You know,

  109. Jesus speaking to his disciples, he said this in John,

  110. these things I've spoken unto you because in me you

  111. can have peace. You can have peace in this world.

  112. You are going to have some tribulation. You are, we're

  113. having some right now. But he says, be of good cheer.

  114. I have overcome the world. Jesus has overcome this. It

  115. is a moment of tribulation and trial, different complications, different

  116. ones that maybe are facing this. We pray for them.

  117. We don't take that lightly. But if we put too

  118. many herbs on the lamb, on our relationship with Jesus,

  119. the bitter herbs will make the lamb bitter. You know.

  120. It just takes a little bit of something bitter, bitter

  121. herbs on the meat to make a very flavorable, tasty substance,

  122. something very very good. Those of you that are chefs.

  123. I'm not, but those of you that are. You put

  124. all kinds of things on your meat by themselves, they

  125. would not be good. Too much of it it would

  126. ruin the meat. But the right proportion it makes it good.

  127. So let's not let too much of this tribulation, this

  128. bitter herb, get on our relationship with the Lord. You know, personally,

  129. I like garlic as a seasoning. I'm from Louisiana. I

  130. like things seasoned well. But have you ever had something

  131. to eat where the chef got carried away with the garlic?

  132. For days, all you taste is garlic. If anyone gets

  133. around you that's had that, after you've eaten all that garlic,

  134. they know you've had too much garlic. What I'm saying

  135. is the trap the devil makes available, is that a

  136. participant pay right now and everything and anything but the lamb,

  137. and you and I are going to eat the lamb

  138. in Jesus' name, Let's just slow down. Let's get our

  139. feet on the rock on Jesus, keep our fixation on God.

  140. Lean into this relationship. I challenge you in the morning,

  141. don't turn on the news first. Turn on the best

  142. news first, the good news first. Build yourself up and

  143. let God speak to you, eat from the lamb our

  144. own passover, and let's not allow too much of this

  145. bitterness and distribulation to spoil the meat. Our priority is

  146. keep the blood on the doorpost, keep the blood of

  147. Jesus over your life, keep the lamb on the table,

  148. and let's just watch God do something through this. You know,

  149. it'd be interesting to videotape your life right now. I

  150. bet for many of you it's very calm and very soothing,

  151. and it's great. Those of you, though with children, are

  152. grandchildren at home with you twenty four to seven, and

  153. you're trying to homeschool, and this, that and the other.

  154. It's probably a zoo. In fact, your home might look

  155. like a zoo. What I've enjoyed different people are sending

  156. me pictures of what they're doing creatively. They're out fishing

  157. with their family, they're reading, they're playing games outside, they're

  158. doing board games inside, they're reading the Bible, they're worshiping,

  159. they're doing things where they're allowing to pull the lamb

  160. up and eat and get well and stay well. For

  161. any of us right now, life has been totally altered.

  162. Am I little saying I feel like a fish out

  163. of water. Now I'm still moving and I'm still squirming,

  164. but it is a little bit awkward if I'm honest.

  165. Here's my pastor or advice, wherever possible. Shut down some

  166. of the voices, the things that are clanging for your attention,

  167. the bitter earth herbs that want to just spoil your

  168. joy and make you focus on the tribulation rather than

  169. the deliverance. Close the door to those unnecessary distractions and

  170. those fears they're real. Shut the door to them. Put

  171. the blood over the doors of your house, your spiritual house,

  172. and your family. Pull yourself up to the table and

  173. eat from the lamb until you are well and strong

  174. and you're ready for this journey. Amen, I'm talking about

  175. just take advantage of this slowdown. Feast on Jesus because

  176. he's our health. Read the Word of God, worship, put

  177. some worship music on. Read materials in books that are

  178. going to build your faith. Have Thanksgiving going on. Here's something. Laugh,

  179. laugh a lot, Smile your face won't break. It might

  180. actually cause a contagiousness of others in your home. Be

  181. sure whatever you eat spiritually right now, it's centered on Jesus.

  182. Then you can tell others what you've partaken of and

  183. they can receive strength from you because you've experienced him,

  184. you know him, you've been partaking of him. You share

  185. what's in you. Anyway, out of the abundance of the heart,

  186. the mouth speaks. So what are some of the first

  187. things that come out of your mouth when you're speaking

  188. to someone on the home? Are in social distancing? We

  189. have the opportunity right now to be the church like

  190. never before. I know it would not be appropriate to

  191. me and gather as a group because of just how

  192. this disease spreads. But this does not stop the church.

  193. I encourage you be more creative than ever before. You

  194. can be more effective in this hour. Let's get to

  195. the New Testament. Now, New Testament communion move over there.

  196. After the ascension of Christ, the Christian Church recognize that

  197. Christ became our passover. They saw the correlation. They understood it.

  198. One Corinthians five, verse seven. Get rid of the old yeast,

  199. so that you may be a new, unleaven batch as

  200. you really are. What you are, you're new for Christ

  201. our passover, Lamb. He has been sacrificed, Jesus fulfilled passover.

  202. He became the lamb. Therefore, he eliminated the necessity of

  203. the yearly sacrifice. As I've said before, aren't you're so

  204. glad you didn't have to bring fidoh or some other

  205. animal to sacrifice a church. Jesus has paid that the

  206. cup representing the blood and the bread representing the body

  207. the meat became a symbol of the completed work accomplished

  208. at the death of Christ. We as believe we received

  209. the cup and bread to celebrate the finished work of Christ.

  210. The apostle Paul informed the church at corinth about the

  211. importance of having the believer received the Lord's supper. It's important.

  212. That's why we're going to do this together momentarily first

  213. Corinthians eleven, starting in verse twenty four, And when he

  214. had given thanks, he broke it and said, this is

  215. my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance

  216. of me, in remembrance of Jesus Christ. In the same way,

  217. after supper, he took the cup, saying, this cup is

  218. the new covenant in my blood. Do this whenever you

  219. drink it in remembrance of me, in remembrance of Christ's

  220. life and his death and what he paid for for.

  221. Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup. You

  222. are proclaiming the Lord's death that finished work until he comes.

  223. After Jesus was raised from the dead, he again was

  224. breaking bread in the home of his disciples and his

  225. followers Luke twenty four, verse thirty. Luke twenty four, verse thirty.

  226. When he was at the table with them, with the disciples,

  227. he took bread, he gave thanks, broke it and began

  228. to give it to them verse thirty one. Then their

  229. eyes were open and they recognized him, and he disappeared

  230. from their sight. This particular illustration was with those on

  231. the road to Emmaeus, and there they have Jesus with him,

  232. and they didn't even realize it. But when they broke

  233. the bread and he blessed it and they partook, suddenly

  234. their eyes were open. I said, their eyes were open.

  235. I'm telling you there's something about communion, and you understanding

  236. whatever represents When you partake of it, your eyes, your

  237. spiritual eyes, your heart art can be opened. Let's go

  238. back up to Matthew twenty five, verse twenty six through

  239. twenty eight. I want you to see this when he

  240. was with the disciples, because I skipped that originally While

  241. they were eating, Jesus took bread. When they had given thanks,

  242. he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying,

  243. take eat. This is my body. Then he took a cup,

  244. and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying,

  245. drink from it, all of you. This is my blood

  246. of the Covenant, which has poured out for many for

  247. the forgiveness of sins. You can see he had the

  248. Lord's supper with the disciples and with those on the

  249. road to Emmaeus. I believe there's just something so significant

  250. when we understand the importance of this. So here we

  251. are today, right now, March twenty ninth, a deadly disease

  252. of virus that's sweeping not only our state in all

  253. fifty states, but literally the world. This outbreak of the coronavirus.

  254. What are you doing about it? What are you thinking

  255. about it? We need a revelation of our full atonement.

  256. Our protection can be supernatural, just as it was for

  257. the children of Visual and their exodus. So I've sent

  258. these points to get to hear. Here we go two

  259. things from the Old Testament. Number one, the lamb's blood

  260. on the door post restrained the destroying angel from taking

  261. the life of one single Hebrew. That's awesome. Two, the

  262. roasted lamb with just a little bit of herb, bitter herbs,

  263. brought physical healing to an entire nation. And one night

  264. it says no one was feeble. That was a big

  265. group of people, Not one of them were feeble. New

  266. Testament application. Let's understand this. If the blood and the

  267. body of an earthly lamb restrained the destroyer and it

  268. brought health, It refrained the destroyer and it brought health,

  269. how much more can the blood and the body of

  270. Christ protect you and I the believer? This is awesome news.

  271. Let that become a revelation. Let it become a foundation,

  272. revelation and a foundation. As the ancient Hebrew nation ate

  273. the lamb and received healing and applied the blood for protection. Likewise,

  274. we're going to partake of the bread and the cup

  275. to receive our healing. Some of you might need a

  276. physical healing today. Receive that by faith, and we're going

  277. to drink the blood or the juice or the orange juice,

  278. whatever you have, and proclaim that as a protection over

  279. our family and our homes. John six, verse fifty three.

  280. Jesus said to them. I tell you the truth. Unless

  281. you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and

  282. drink his blood, you have no life in you. There's

  283. something about the revelation of this communion. It brings you life,

  284. and people are looking for others who have life. We're

  285. gonna have some life. Verse fifty five. Jesus said, my

  286. flesh is real food, my blood is real drink verse

  287. fifty six. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood

  288. remains in me and I in him Verse fifty seven.

  289. Just as the Living Father sent me, and I live

  290. because of the Father, so the one who feeds on

  291. me will live because of me. You will live because

  292. of Jesus. Verse fifty eight. This is the bread that

  293. came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died.

  294. They passed away. But he who feeds on this bread

  295. will live forever. And that's talking about our eternal salvation.

  296. You're eating it by faith as a proclamation. Jesus is

  297. my Lord, and I'm gonna live forever. You drink the cup.

  298. Jesus is my Lord, and I'm gonna live forever. I

  299. am so wanting this to become just life to you

  300. and come alive in your spirit. Picture that communion cup

  301. and the bread in the manner that you would nutrients

  302. from the food you're eating right now at your house.

  303. Proper foods are high and beneficial nutrients that when they're

  304. released in our bodies, when the food molecules are broken down,

  305. it brings you life and health. You know, I can

  306. hold up a plate of food. This is just a

  307. little thing. I have the cracker in. But I could

  308. hold up a plate of food all day long and

  309. tell you, oh, wow, this is good for you. Man,

  310. this is good. Wow, this is good, and then just

  311. eat it, not give you any put it back down.

  312. It's not going to do you any good. No vitamins,

  313. no protein, no minerals. Nothing. Likewise, we can talk about

  314. the fact that Christ died on the cross to save us,

  315. and he was beaten and he was bruised to heal us,

  316. but simply discussing that that event has no impact on

  317. your life unless you believe in your heart and you

  318. confess Jesus with your mouth. That's in Romans ten. You

  319. believe and you confess, you partake, you're doing something with it.

  320. So when we eat the bread and drink the cup,

  321. it is more than flour or whatever you're using for

  322. the body. It's more than a cup grape juice. It's

  323. not a routine. It's not to be a routine. Just

  324. our confession leads to salvation, and God honors our prayers

  325. when we pray in conviction and repentance. Wise, the Father

  326. honors an act of faith when we partake of communion.

  327. Our healing has been bought through Christ's suffering. But we

  328. need to properly discern the body of Christ. The Word

  329. of God tells us that we must comprehend what really

  330. happened at the whipping post, the piercing of his side,

  331. the thorns on his head, the nails in his hands,

  332. the nails in his feet. When we take communion in

  333. remembrance what he did, and you understand that, get ready

  334. for something great. You're stewarding the greatest testimony in history. Listen,

  335. we need faith right now because we're human. I need faith.

  336. If I really receive that and understand that my faith,

  337. your faith, it will lead to hope. People. We need hope,

  338. and so does everyone else around you. Hope is what

  339. connects us to the future. But the moment you lose hope,

  340. that's the moment you're disconnected to the future. I want

  341. to pray, just like if I had hundreds of people

  342. right here, right now, I'm going to pray. We're going

  343. to make a confession about Jesus being Lord and savior.

  344. You might be just a wholehearted follower after Christ. I

  345. encourage you to do this anyway. Maybe you've been away

  346. from Christ. I encourage you to believe it and mean

  347. it and say it. Maybe you've never accepted Christ and

  348. you can see what He's done for you. Would you

  349. pray with me right where you are, wherever you are,

  350. and let's allow Jesus to be our lord before we partake.

  351. Would you bow with me as I lead us in

  352. a prayer? Just repeat after me. Dear Jesus, I acknowledge

  353. you as the way, the truth, and the life. I

  354. need a savior, and you're the only way. You're the

  355. only connection I have to a holy God. You made

  356. a way through your sacrifice, your crucifixion, your blood, your

  357. broken body, the full atonement of all that means. So

  358. I declare, and I say, right now, Jesus is my Lord,

  359. he is my savior. Forgive me Lord of all my

  360. sin and become the center of my heart in my life,

  361. I declare I will live forever as Jesus said, for

  362. those that partake of you. So I thank you today.

  363. I am saved in Jesus's name. Amen, I'm excited for you. Now.

  364. If you will, wherever you are, would you get the

  365. body of the Lord, the lamb that we're not going

  366. to let too much tribulation or bitter herbs. Get upon

  367. what we eat right now, for this day, for this week,

  368. for the duration of what we face. If you need

  369. to break it, if it's a loaf of bread or whatever,

  370. go ahead and do that. I'm gonna bless it, and

  371. we're gonna partake. And by doing this, you're saying, Lord,

  372. I'm leaning into you and I'm gonna eat a lot

  373. from you every day. So let me bless the broken body. Jesus.

  374. I thank you for your body that was broken for us,

  375. for the price that you paid. I thank you, Lord.

  376. There's so much in your atonement we didn't even have

  377. time to mention. But by eating of this, we're receiving strength.

  378. We're making a declaration we're not gonna get brought into

  379. too much of the fear, in worry and anxiety, we're

  380. gonna walk in wisdom. But we're not gonna be destroyed

  381. by this. We're gonna be made through this time of

  382. tribulation in our life. We're gonna partake of you. We

  383. thank you that you're our Lord in our savior. In

  384. Jesus' name, let's partake. Take your cup. I've got my

  385. iced tea. Let it represent the blood. Put it over

  386. the doorpost of your house, of your vehicle. It's your workplace,

  387. your children, your family, your neighbors. Let's apply it that

  388. the death angel, sickness and disease won't touch you. Father,

  389. we thank you for your blood. It never loses its power.

  390. It's so powerful. We understand what it represents. And Father,

  391. as we partake of this right now, I thank you Lord,

  392. your broken body, your blood. It's bringing healing to people's

  393. bodies right now who need a touch from you, who

  394. need to be freed from fear or worry. And I

  395. thank you Lord you encouraging them, and we're careful to

  396. give Jesus all the praise in Jesus' name. Let's partake

  397. together now. Each occasion you have to have communion at

  398. your home. Encourage you to do it. You might do

  399. this once a week right now, or every week, every

  400. other week, or every day, whatever you want to do.
