everything good, sin entered and caused pain, suffering, misalignment and

veering from God's plan. Learn more about this message in

Here and we are now in the second week of

our series, Uh, the story about us? And we have

straight to the word. Let's bow that our heads and

pray Lord, we thank you for today. We open our hearts,

that fire come down from heaven and consume as God.

So this series is about our story. It's a story

of us. It's a story of human beings. It's a

story of humanity. What is our purpose? Why are we here?

And last week we have a very pact it was

very full coming from Genesis chapter one. Actually for a

couple of verses, if you would remember, no, last week

we ended with this idea that God designed a good world.

And whether you are a Christian or not, whether you

believe in the Bible or not, or whether you agree

with what Genesis says or not, this is what we

all want our world to be, Isn't it true? Whether

Christiano or in mundo, we want a good world. And

last week we saw that when God designed the world,

he designed it to be to be a good world,

and that mankind us we are created in the image

and likeness of God. But here's the tension that we

left hanging last week. If God wanted a good world,

why is it when we open our Facebook, when we

watch the TV, we would see evil happening all around us?

Because you don't have to be a Christian to agree

with me in this. We all observe and we all

generally agree that there is something wrong in this world.

There's crime outside, there's war, there's terrorism, there's corruption, there's suicide,

there's stealing, there's killings. There's something broken in our world.

And you don't even have to be a Christian to

declare this. This is something we all generally agree. Now

the question is how did we get here? So many

theories about that, lack of education, lack of self expression,

lack of discipline, and all those things, But how did

we get here? How come we have a world that's broken?

If God said, oh, he created a good world, but

when I go back to my office, when I go

back to my campus, it's not a good world. There

is something wrong. That's what we're going to look at.

How did we get here? So we're going to read

from chapter three of Genesis, and it's going to be

very packed. Genesis three, verse one, it says here, now

the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of

the field that the Lord God had made. He said

to the woman, Did God actually say you shall not

eat of any tree in the garden? Now? Before I continue,

most of us here you may be familiar with this story,

but I'm praying and I'm begging you to look at

it in a different perspective. As I've said last week,

much of our issues in today's world are actually addressed

and acknowledged in the first three chapters of Genesis, or

in the first three chapters of the Bible Verse three,

verse two, Sabidito and the woman said to the serpent,

we may eat of the fruit of the trees in

the garden. But God said, you shall not eat of

the fruit of the tree that is in the midst

of the garden. Neither shall you touch it lest you

die verse four. But the serpent said to the woman,

you will not surely die, for God knows that when

you eat of it, your eyes will be open, and

you will be like God, knowing good and evil. The

first thing that we need to observe here is that

there is the presence of an enemy, and that enemy

is called the devil. Whether you believe the devil or

not is up to you. But if you don't believe

the devil, be already in a disadvantage because, say, whether

we believe him or not, he exists, and the goal

of the devil is to oppose God. They're not equals,

mind you, and yang, God is far more supreme and

powerful than him. But the active rule of the devil

is to destroy and to corrupt and to oppose God's will.

good and evil if I just choose to obey God.

But I feel like God's withholding some good from me

and I get to be like God. At the very

heart of our sin is that declaration. Now God, you're

doing it. I feel good about it. It's good. That's

at the very heart of all our sin, declaring God,

You're not God, I am God. That's the temptation. Of

the devil. Then and until now, there's nothing new. He

He makes us forget our identity. We are created to

be an image bearer in the image and likeness of God.

The temptation of the devil and something new he just angles.

we are missing on a lot. Sin in its origin
