You're listening to a message from Victory. We hope it

inspires you to honor God and make disciples in your community.

Today we're gonna talk about peace. We're gonna talk about

number one, what's real peace? Is it really momentary pasts

of the worries? And second, where do we get through peace?

And third can we get a hold of it long

term or is it really a day or two that

we get that piece. So today we're withinuing our four

part series or a four week series entitled Promise Fulfilled,

and we are at our third week. We're discussing the

songs of Christmas, and today we're going to talk about

the song entitled Gloria. And that's the song Gloria and

it's found in Luke chapter two, verse eight to fourteen.

We start with verse eight and it says there and

in the same region, there were shepherds out in the

field keeping watch over their flock by night and an

angel of the Lord appeared to them. In the glory

of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled

with great fear. And verse ten, and the Angel said

to them, fear not, for behold, I bring you good

news of great joy that will be for all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city

of David, a savior who is Christ the Lord. And

in verse twelve, and this will be a sign for you. You'll

find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was a and there was with the

angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying

glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace

among those with whom He is pleased. So what's the

story behind it. There were shepherds tending their sheep at night,

and all of a sudden the angel appeared and said,

fear not, Okaya, Angel Madel Because angels in the Bible

are not babies. They're huge warriors. And it was a

bright light that shone in front of them. That's why

the angel said, fear not, for I have brought you

be born, that the Savior, the Redeemer, and bid us

the glory of God and the good news that the

glory of God in the Highest is now coming to us.

We can experience Heaven on earth. We can experience his

glory and experience his faithfulness. We can experience his power

as he comes to us on earth. What else does

God bring and pends in have any angel the good news?

Not only does the glory of God come to us

on earth. He was saying, the presence of God brings peace.

Can you tell that person beside you? God brings peace? Peace? Peace?

You know peace in the Bible, It's been there since

the beginning. In Genesis, you would see man at peace

with nature, peace with animals. He was at peace in

the garden of Eden, and God was at peace with mankind. Unfortunately,

what entered sin. As soon as Sin entered what happened.

Peace was distorted, Peace was lost. That's why you would

hear about stories in the Bible where a brother would

kill a brother, nations would conquer nations. You would heal

people oppressed, freeing by God, and then once again being

oppressed by another group of people. This is the theme

The world teaches us that peace comes in buying something

God can give you that peace because if you're that

person who doesn't want a stressful situation, you can't exist

in a situation that there is trouble or noise even

We ladi bah. God talks about a different kind of

peace in the Old Testament and the word used in

the Old Testament for peace is shalom. Say that with

me shalom shalom. How about the shalom that is cold,

shalom pass? Say that shalom pass. Okay, So despite the

in Greek, it's called a raine, and say that with

me a raine, the Greek word for peace or shalom.

This was what the angel was talking about. So what

mister Potato together. That's a picture of shalom, the peace

that the angel was talking about. That was the picture

of the coming of Christ when he arrived here. Unfortunately,

lot at stake relationships that we have. What else our health,

our finances, the friends, the career that we have, and

once one of these falls down, we feel we are

not at peace anymore. So what shalom? I'm going to

It also means tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness also means rest,

when we say shalom, when we say I want shalom,

God also gives us rest harmony, the absence of agitation

brings peace, how many of us want shalom in our

lives that regardless of what's happening outside, you can be complete.

Regardless of what's happening at outside, you can be whole.

You may lose your job tomorrow, but you can still declare, Lord,

thank you, but I'm healthy. Thank you, Lord God, that

I'm prosperous. Thank you, Lord God, that you are restoring

me into fullness. Lord, You're taking out the agitations in

my life. And this is a picture of the coming

of Jesus. He was bringing peace or shalom. And this

is what Isaiah was waiting for. In Isaiah nine, verse six,

it says here he prophesied that there will be someone

who will be born to us, to be given to us.

He will be called what wonderful counselor Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

and Prince of Peace. The Prince of Peace was now born.

Prince of Shalom has arrived. The prince that will restore

what is broken in us, the prince that will make

sure that we are full again, the prince that will

make sure that we are prosperous, we are healthy. And

you know what he brings not only peace. He brings

peace with no end. That's why what I was talking

a while ago, that's not peace, peace or stress in life.

Setting aside and having that peace. That's not peace. That's

ignoring reality. But this is the peace that God wants

for all of us. It's the peace that has no end. Shalom.

Tell that person beside you shalem. So as we continue,

I'm going to share with you three types of peace

that God brought, the three shaloms that God brought when

he was born, that the glory of God when he arrived.

This is what he offered us. First, God gives peace

within man. Can you raise your right hand, put it

in your heart and say, Lord, thank you for that

peace within me. You know, God brings peace within us,

it says in John fourteen. And this was Jesus say

saying peace, I live with you. My peace I give

to you, and we receive it. It's Jesus giving that peace,

not as the world gives, Do I give it? And

let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

How many of us have been living a life being

afraid of tomorrow, being troubled of the smallest things. What

we plan for dening yaah, we get to be in trouble,

what we've been hoping for, dening yiareh, we get to

be afraid. But I believe God is reminding us. Jesus

is reminding us that He's giving us peace today. Not

only peace that when we receive it we can move forward.

It's actually peace from the past as well, peace from condemnation,

peace from the lives of the enemy. Peace he's from

sin This is what peace that God brings to us.

In to share a story, a true story, in fifteen

fifty five, there was this bishop named Nicholas Ridley, and

he was actually born, not born, burned, burn at the

is no peace. Peace is upon us, and God wants

to give us peace. Peace within all of us. The

second one that he gives is peace among men. Peace

among men, it says in our main text in the song,

peace among those who are those among us, His people

among us. And this is another piece that he gives us.

How I want to share with you this story. This

is a picture of a white labrador. How many of

you have experienced playing with a labrador, owning a labrador?

This is the piece that God brings to us, Peace

within us first, what else? Peace among men. That's why

I appreciate our victory group leader's why because sometimes just

sometimes people are angry at them, but they are patient,

They pray for you, they make sure you hear the word.

needs to restore us to him? Because scripture says we

were also enemies, enemies of God. We were also at

we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the

arrival of Jesus and what he would do for the

next thirty three years. And it's a picture again of shalom,

God restoring us to completeness, God restoring our relationship with him,

God making sure that we are okay with him. Why

because only if we are okay with God, that's the

time we can be at peace with ourselves. Within us,

that's the only time we can release forgiveness and be

at peace to others. As you continue, this is Jesus

saying to his disciples before he went up, he said

these things. I have spoken to you that in me

you may have peace. Only in God that we can

have peace in the world. You will have tribulation. That's

a promise we will always have that stress will always

go through trials, but be of good cheer. In another

in a different version, it says, take heart, I have

overcome the world. God has overcome the stress that we

are going through. I believe God is reminding us that

He has overcome even sickness, death, even financial crisis, even

that relational issue. He has overcome and that's why he

can have peace today. This is the peace that God

wants for all of us, a peace that we can

rest in him. The question is probably for us now, Bro,

I've been attending church, listening to the word of God

for the past three years. Taulam peace. Why don't I

feel that peace? Why can't I be at peace after

I leave the church? Were reading a little after I

eleven of our story. It says here for unto you, Yes,

as our lord? Is he the lord of our lives?

Or do we consider Jesus as only our savior and

not our lord? Because the Bible tells us that if

we consider Him as our lord and savior, we will

have that peace, that peace that we can enjoy, that

peace of any situation, that you can be okay, peace

within peace among people, and peace with God. That's why

the Apostle Paul reminds us. Before the Apostle Paul's remind you,

I forgot peace rules the day When Christ is the

lord of your heart? What rules your day? Is it worries?

As soon as you wake up? What's on your mind?

What rules it? What dictates your action of the day?

Is it problems, finances, relational issues, being hopeless? Is that

what rules your day? Who wants to have peace to

rule your day? It says, let's have Christ to be

the lord of our hearts. Not only our hearts, but

Christ as the Lord of our lives. That's why I'm

encouraged when the Apostle Paul said this that if we

have Christ as the Lord of our hearts, we can rejoice,

always rejoice, he said, And if you're going through worries.

You're going through troubles. This is what you do, says

in verse six. Do not be anxious, Do not worry

why because in everything, bring it to God. Pray, worship him. Lord, thanksgiving, Lord,

Thank you that you're a promise keeper. Lord God, Lord,

you are my We can declare this in our lives. Lord.

I may be sick, Lord, but I just lift up

to you. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness in me. Lord,

just lift up. Begin to lift up your concerns to

God and what will happen. And this is his promise

to us today and the peace of God which surpasses

all understanding. We may not understand the things that are

going on in our lives, but the peace of God

can guard our hearts and our minds. In Christ Jesus.

This is the peace that God wants us. And this

is the peace that God brought when he was born.

You know the shepherds, they responded in worship, and today

want to give each and everyone an opportunity to worship God.

Declared that God is a faithful God. Not only that

that God is a glorious God, and more than that

that he's a God who wants to give you peace

piece within peace among your people, your friends, your relatives,

and he reminds you that He has restored the peace

between you and you.
