The Daily Walk | 04.14.26 | Isak Morehous | Joshua 10:42-43

Good morning everyone and thank you for beginning your day with us.

I'm coming at you from the Atlanta airport where I'm currently recording this.

So if you hear a little bit of noise in the background, some chatter, maybe some intercom, it's okay.

It's not the voice of God.

It's just somebody missing their flight.

Or whatever.

But I'm excited to be uh bringing you a word of encouragement this morning.

I want to read to you from Joshua chapter 10, starting in verse 42.

Joshua 10 · chapter mention

It says this And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

Well this section here comes at the it's the very end of the Israelites' conquest of the land of Canaan.

And if you read the last part of chapter 10, you'll see for multiple verses in the row, it talks about they went from this land and conquered it and destroyed all the people.

They went to this land and they conquered it and destroyed all the people.

They went to this land, destroyed it, conquered all the people.

And it's time and time again that you see victory for Israel.

But I also want to point out here in verse 43 that it says, Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with them to the camp that Gil Gaul.

Not only are they given victory time and time again, they don't lose a single person.

It says all Israel returned, and the way that I read that, it means that every single Israelite who went out on this campaign returned to the camp at Gilgaal.

And so my encouragement to you this morning is that the Israelites didn't win these battles because of their own military might.

They didn't win these battles because they had sharper blades or better tactics.

They won these battles because the Lord is the one who gave them victory.

And I just want to encourage you this morning that if there is anything that's happening in your life, whether it's something to rejoice about or whether it's suffering or heartache, know that God is the one who brings the victory in those situations and that he is working all things for his glory and our good.

Even if we don't understand the circumstance, even if we don't understand what he's doing, God is the one who brings the victory, and he is the one who receives all of the honor and all the glory.

I hope that this is encouraging for you.

Let's strive to love Jesus more obediently and to make him known.
