Good morning.

This is Dan and thanks for joining me.

Last Sunday we began a new series on the mission, vision, and values of our church.

Can we at least say the vision together right now?

Come on, say it with me.

We exist to magnify Christ and share the gospel in our homes, the Wimberley Valley, and beyond.

Very good.

Well, today I want to talk about how important it is for the body of Christ to be unified in our mission, vision, and values.

Philippians 2, 1 and 2 says, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

When unity, like what is described in these verses, happens, things work like a well-oiled machine.

Imagine walking around with a steel ball and chain around your ankle.

That's what it's like when we aren't walking in unity.

Acts 4.32 says that all believers were in one heart and mind.

And 1 Corinthians 1 10 says, I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and same judgment.

Christian unity is a oneness of heart and purpose, not forced uniformity.

So it's okay to not agree on every little issue, but when it comes to our church's mission, vision, and core values, I pray we will be a strong and united force.

A unified church is a strong witness to the community and to the world.

Let's be this kind of church.
