  1. I'm reading this morning's John chapter 10, first 30 verses.

    John 10 chapter mention

  2. So if you'd like to open your Bibles and devices.

  3. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs in by another way,

  4. that man is a thief and a robber.

  5. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

  6. To him the gatekeepers open.

  7. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by their name and leads them out.

  8. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his name, they know his voice.

  9. A stranger they will not follow, but they flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.

  10. This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.

  11. So Jesus again said to them,

  12. Truly, truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

  13. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

  14. I am the door.

  15. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

  16. The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy.

  17. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

  18. I am the good shepherd.

  19. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

  20. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep,

  21. sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees.

  22. And the wolf snatches them and scatters them.

  23. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

  24. I am the good shepherd.

  25. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father who knows me,

  26. and I know the Father.

  27. And I lay down my life for the sheep.

  28. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold.

  29. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice,

  30. so there will be one flock, one shepherd.

  31. For this reason, the Father loves me,

  32. because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.

  33. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.

  34. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.

  35. This charge I have received from my Father.

  36. There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.

  37. Many of them said,

  38. He has a demon and is insane.

  39. Why listen to him?

  40. Others said,

  41. These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon.

  42. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?

  43. At that time, the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem.

  44. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the colonnade of Solomon.

  45. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him,

  46. How long will you keep us in suspense?

  47. If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.

  48. Jesus answered them,

  49. I told you, and you do not believe.

  50. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me.

  51. But you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.

  52. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

  53. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish.

  54. And no one will snatch them out of my hand.

  55. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all.

  56. Greater than all.

  57. And no one is able to snatch them out of my Father's hand.

  58. I and the Father are one.

  59. Thank you.

  60. Well, first, I just want to thank Dave for sharing the pulpit with me today.

  61. It's a great privilege to be able to preach.

  62. And it's something you don't take lightly.

  63. But what a great text.

  64. I am the good shepherd.

  65. The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.

  66. In 2008, June and I were looking after, at least I was preaching up at Walker.

  67. And while she was getting settled into the mance, I went over to the church building.

  68. And I sat down behind the pulpit.

  69. And here, in large letters, was facing me these words.

  70. Sir, we would see Jesus.

  71. Let's pray.

  72. Father, we come together today with much expectation.

  73. We come to worship you in spirit and in truth.

  74. Because they are the ones that you desire to worship you.

  75. But, Father, we come today and we want to see you.

  76. We want to hear you speaking to us.

  77. And we want to know that you love us with that everlasting love.

  78. And so we ask that you guide and direct us today in Christ's name.

  79. Well, what must we see in Jesus and hear about Jesus this morning?

  80. Just three points with a few subheadings.

  81. Firstly, we want to look at his deity.

  82. I am, he says.

  83. Not I was or I will be, but I am.

  84. I always was and I always will be.

  85. The Jews glorified, gloried in Abraham as their father

  86. and as being part of and upholders of his covenant.

  87. But Jesus told them, before Abraham was, I am.

  88. He also said, in verse 24, the last part of this verse,

  89. if you do not believe that I am, he, you will die in your sins.

  90. He told them in chapter 8 and verse 58.

  91. It's hard for anyone really, I think, to grasp the enormity of Jesus' divinity.

  92. I don't know whether you've tried to think about it, to think.

  93. We often sing the children's song, my God is so big, so strong and so mighty.

  94. But do we really believe it?

  95. He is very God of very God.

  96. He's the creator of the heavens and the earth and the seas and all the things that are therein.

  97. He's the one who upholds all things by the word of his power.

  98. The one before whom we shall all one day kneel and confess that he is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

  99. But I believe that is exactly what Isaiah saw in the year King Uzziah died.

  100. In Isaiah 6, Isaiah said, in the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord lifted up.

  101. He was seated on his right and his train filled the whole of the temple.

  102. And here were the cherubim and seraphim around him calling out,

  103. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of hosts.

  104. And Isaiah fell down before the Lord.

  105. And he says, why am I?

  106. He said, I'm a man of unclean lips and I live amongst a people of unclean lips.

  107. But Isaiah saw the risen, glorified King of kings seated on the throne.

  108. In John chapter 12, you'll find that that's what Jesus says he saw.

    John 12 chapter mention

  109. Others heard his voice.

  110. Some spoke with him face to face.

  111. One man wrestled with him.

  112. One had seen the back parts of him, felt his presence.

  113. But no one saw him in his glory seated on his throne.

  114. Nor seen and heard the declaration of heavenly hosts as Isaiah saw and heard.

  115. Jesus is declaring here in our text that he is the I am that told Moses of the burning bush to take the sandals off his feet.

  116. For the ground on which he was standing was holy ground.

  117. He told Moses to tell the people of Israel, I am sent you.

  118. I am whom I am.

  119. Jesus is divine.

  120. He is that second person of the Godhead.

  121. But we also want to see him not only as divine, but we want to see his humanity.

  122. Because in our text it says, I am the good shepherd.

  123. We want to see him as the good shepherd.

  124. Not only is Jesus the door to the sheepfold, as we see in the beginning of this chapter 10 of John.

  125. As the only way to get to heaven is through him.

  126. To be part of his heavenly family, you must come through Jesus.

  127. But there in verse 7, as Jesus said, most assuredly I said to you, I am the door of the sheep.

  128. There he's pictured as an object.

  129. A way.

  130. A guardian.

  131. A guardian.

  132. But here in our text he is the shepherd.

  133. Indeed he's different from all the other shepherds of his flock.

  134. There are wicked shepherds as we see in our text.

  135. There are false shepherds who try to get into heaven some other way.

  136. And the faithful shepherds, like our own pastors here.

  137. But he is above all.

  138. He is the good shepherd.

  139. What he can do and does that no other shepherd can do.

  140. What is it?

  141. I think David described it best in Ellen Stoll, my thunder here.

  142. The Lord is my shepherd.

  143. That's a big statement.

  144. The Lord, the divine one, the control of all things, he is my shepherd.

  145. And he says, I shall not want.

  146. Shall not want anything.

  147. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

  148. And yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I'll fear no evil.

  149. For you are with me.

  150. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

  151. He says, my cup overflows.

  152. And he says, one day, he said, I know, I shall be in the house of the Lord forever.

  153. I wonder if that's your understanding, your statement, your assurance this morning.

  154. You know the Lord is your shepherd and you know you're going to be in heaven.

  155. If you've lived very long.

  156. Only Arthur's lived longer than me, I think, here today.

  157. But there's some rough patches in our life.

  158. It's not all a bed of roses.

  159. Not all a bowl of cherries.

  160. There is this valley.

  161. We sometimes think we'll never get through this valley of the shadow of death.

  162. These tough times.

  163. But one thing we know, or two things we know.

  164. We know the Lord.

  165. And we know we're going to be with him forever.

  166. He is good.

  167. He is good.

  168. There are none of the fallen race of humanity since Adam sinned in the garden of Eden who are good.

  169. I mean good in the perfect sense.

  170. Because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

  171. And only the sinless son of God, Jesus Christ himself, is good.

  172. But how good?

  173. How good is this good shepherd really?

  174. And I think that we see this in that third part of our study today.

  175. We see it in his love.

  176. He says, I am the good shepherd.

  177. Good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.

  178. Good shepherd.

  179. And the first thing we want to know about this is that Christ's love is sufficient.

  180. When the Virgin Mary was expecting the Christ child by the Holy Spirit,

  181. Joseph, her husband, was told to call his name Jesus,

  182. for he will save everybody in the world from their sins.

  183. Every man, woman and child that ever entered into this world from their sins?

  184. No.

  185. He said he will save his people from their sins.

  186. And here he is in John 10, at the height of his earthly ministry,

  187. telling his fellow countrymen that he would have to die to save them.

  188. He gives his life for his sheep.

  189. No one took his life from him.

  190. He gave it freely.

  191. How generous is that?

  192. But it was planned from all eternity.

  193. It was prophesied in Isaiah 53 clearly and applies precisely.

  194. Look at the verses 14 through 18.

  195. I am the good shepherd and I know my sheep and am known by my own.

  196. As the Father knows me, even so I know the Father.

  197. And I lay down my life for the sheep.

  198. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold, them also I must bring.

  199. And they will hear my voice and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

  200. Therefore my Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again.

  201. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself.

  202. I have power to lay it down.

  203. I have power to take it again.

  204. This commandment I have received from my Father.

  205. It wasn't Judas Iscariot or Pilate, the Jewish rulers and the mob, nor the soldiers who took Jesus' life.

  206. He laid it down himself.

  207. He could have called on 12 legions of angels to deliver him, as we see in Matthew 26, 53, but he didn't.

  208. Greater love has no man than this.

  209. And that he lay down his life for his friends.

  210. His born-again friends.

  211. His life.

  212. The Lord Jesus Christ gave his life.

  213. The sinless son of God.

  214. Lay down his life.

  215. What a cost.

  216. The hymn writer, Cecil Francis Alexander, an Irish woman wrote,

  217. There was no other good enough to pay the price of sin.

  218. He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in.

  219. Jesus is telling his hearers who he is and what he is going to do.

  220. But we're in such a marvelous position this morning, aren't we?

  221. Because we're on the other side of the cross.

  222. We know that what he said he was coming to do, he actually did.

  223. He did die on the cross to save his people from their sins.

  224. He did rise again.

  225. He did ascend into heaven.

  226. And he sits as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

  227. Redemption has been accomplished and applied to those already saved.

  228. And to those who will be saved before the Lord Jesus comes again.

  229. But the sheep.

  230. Who are they?

  231. Well, what distinguishes them from the goats?

  232. Because on the judgment day, the Lord says when he comes,

  233. he'll sort out the sheep from the goats.

  234. The wheat from the tares.

  235. The believers from the unbelievers.

  236. But some clearly were not his sheep.

  237. Look at verse 26.

  238. Or 25.

  239. Well, let's go back to 24.

  240. The Jews surrounded him and said to him,

  241. How long do you keep us in doubt?

  242. If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.

  243. Jesus answered him and said,

  244. I told you.

  245. And you do not believe.

  246. The works that I do in my Father's name,

  247. they bear witness of me.

  248. But you do not believe.

  249. Why don't they believe?

  250. Because you are not of my sheep.

  251. It is very clear that some people are going to be in heaven

  252. and some are not.

  253. Can we thank the Lord and say,

  254. Well, we know who they are that are not

  255. and we can just not worry about them

  256. and we'll just speak to the ones that are going to be.

  257. But we're not God.

  258. We are to preach the gospel to every creature.

  259. But the Lord himself is the one.

  260. He is the judge of all.

  261. And he tells these Jews who are opposing constantly,

  262. You're not my sheep because you do not believe.

  263. The Lord knows, as David told the kids,

  264. he knows them by name.

  265. They know him,

  266. not just about him.

  267. Anyone can read the scriptures

  268. and have an intellectual understanding

  269. of who this Jesus is.

  270. But they know him

  271. because they have a personal relationship

  272. with this one true and living God.

  273. This saviour that laid down his life for them

  274. and who loved them.

  275. They have a personal love for him.

  276. And they have a dependence upon him

  277. and a hopefulness of life with him forever.

  278. Having loved his own,

  279. he loved them to the end.

  280. And heaven awaits them

  281. after this earthly life.

  282. And my friends,

  283. is that what you're talking about?

  284. Is it like after I looked on my wife that morning,

  285. 21st of January 2011,

  286. and sure she was dead,

  287. but I knew she was absent from the body

  288. and present with the Lord.

  289. Is that how it's going to be for you?

  290. Is that your hope?

  291. Nicodemus,

  292. the head man we heard

  293. in chapter 3 of John's Gospel.

  294. He was the one that led the Jewish nation.

  295. He was the Pharisee of the Pharisees,

  296. if you like,

  297. the leader.

  298. But he knew he wasn't right with God.

  299. And he comes to Jesus by night

  300. and he says to him,

  301. no one can do the works that you do

  302. except if you come from God.

  303. Jesus didn't even answer him.

  304. He said,

  305. Nicodemus,

  306. you must be born again.

  307. The woman at the well.

  308. She said,

  309. I perceive that you're a prophet.

  310. And then Jesus reveals himself to her.

  311. And what about the blind man last week?

  312. David was talking about,

  313. here he was.

  314. And they keep pestering these leaders of the Jews

  315. and they want to know,

  316. tell us plainly what happened.

  317. He said,

  318. he said,

  319. one thing I know,

  320. once I was blind,

  321. but now I see.

  322. These people entered into this personal relationship.

  323. They hear his voice

  324. and Jesus gets their attention.

  325. Verse 16,

  326. I just put praise the Lord after this.

  327. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold,

  328. them also I must bring.

  329. Isn't God good?

  330. I don't think anyone here is a Jew, maybe.

  331. We used to have one who was part Jew,

  332. once a time.

  333. But where are those others?

  334. And Jesus said he must bring them

  335. from every nation, tongue and tribe.

  336. He'll get your attention.

  337. Has he got my attention?

  338. No matter what we are doing or where we're going,

  339. whether our sport is our great God,

  340. whether gaming is the thing that takes us all our time,

  341. whether scrolling, we can't resist it,

  342. or whether we're just depressed and we can't cope,

  343. when the Lord says,

  344. listen,

  345. listen,

  346. when he calls your name,

  347. he gets your attention.

  348. And his sheep believe what they hear.

  349. That's what he says here in verse 27.

  350. But my sheep hear my voice.

  351. My sheep hear my voice and I know them

  352. and they follow me.

  353. Matthew 5, 24 says,

  354. he who hears my word

  355. and believes on him who sent me

  356. has everlasting life

  357. and will not come into condemnation

  358. but is passed from death unto life.

  359. Have you had that experience?

  360. Do you know that you've heard Christ calling you by name

  361. and you've believed on him

  362. and he's given you that assurance

  363. that you have eternal life now?

  364. How do we hear?

  365. Well, it's by the work of the Holy Spirit.

  366. Jesus has ascended

  367. but he sent the Holy Spirit too

  368. in John chapter 14 through 16.

    John 14 chapter mention

  369. You'll see that

  370. Jesus says,

  371. it's right for me to go

  372. so that the Holy Spirit can come.

  373. And he's omnipresent.

  374. And he guides us into all truth.

  375. But what do they hear?

  376. What do you and I hear

  377. when he calls us by name?

  378. Well, we hear that we have sinned

  379. against this holy God.

  380. And that's the big difference.

  381. We've all done things wrong.

  382. Don't kid yourself.

  383. I can point to say,

  384. yes, I know you've done something wrong

  385. but there's always three pointing back at me.

  386. But it's when we see

  387. that we've sinned against a holy God,

  388. this I am,

  389. we see this.

  390. and we see that we deserve to be condemned.

  391. And we see the need to repent of our sins.

  392. And we need to believe that Jesus has come

  393. to give his life

  394. as a substitute on the cross of Calvary

  395. and that he rose again the third day

  396. and ascended into heaven

  397. to be with his father

  398. and to intercede for his people.

  399. Is that you this morning?

  400. Dave mentioned this lady,

  401. Rosaria, I think it was,

  402. the converted lesbian,

  403. professor of English.

  404. She said,

  405. in April of 1999,

  406. I felt the call of Jesus Christ upon my life.

  407. It was both subtle and blatant,

  408. like the peace inside the eye of a hurricane.

  409. I could in no way resist

  410. and in no way understood

  411. what would become of my life.

  412. How does this affect

  413. such repentant sinners

  414. as you and I this morning

  415. who have believed?

  416. In verse 27 again,

  417. my sheep hear my voice

  418. and I know them

  419. and they follow me.

  420. We follow Jesus.

  421. And how do we do that?

  422. Well, we need to be reading his word

  423. constantly, daily.

  424. We need to be meditating on it

  425. day and night.

  426. We need to be those

  427. who are able to speak

  428. about the word of God,

  429. to be able to share the word of God,

  430. to be able to be with other believers

  431. and to be encouraged

  432. and chastened

  433. from the word of God.

  434. We follow Jesus.

  435. But

  436. the thing that I've noticed

  437. is that Christ's love

  438. is not only sufficient,

  439. but it's very divisive.

  440. Divisive.

  441. His love

  442. is divisive.

  443. And this is

  444. obvious, I think,

  445. from the reaction of the Jews

  446. as Chris read to us this morning.

  447. Look at verse 19.

  448. Therefore,

  449. there was a division

  450. again

  451. amongst the Jews

  452. because of these saints.

  453. And Melinda said,

  454. he has a demon

  455. and is mad.

  456. Why do you listen to him?

  457. Others said,

  458. these are not the words

  459. of one who is a demon.

  460. Can a demon

  461. open the eyes

  462. of the blind?

  463. There was a division.

  464. If you're one of

  465. Christ's chosen people,

  466. you will have already

  467. had a similar reaction

  468. from your friends

  469. and from your families.

  470. Are you a Christian?

  471. Are you one of Christ's sheep?

  472. If you are,

  473. then you know

  474. the reality

  475. and the cost

  476. of what I'm saying.

  477. June and I

  478. won't convert

  479. until our late 20s.

  480. But when we come

  481. to understand

  482. and have this relationship

  483. with Christ,

  484. we want to speak

  485. about Christ,

  486. our friends

  487. seem to drift away

  488. from us.

  489. They didn't want

  490. to hear about Christ.

  491. When I left

  492. the Masonic Lodge,

  493. after being 15 years

  494. a master

  495. in the Masonic Lodge,

  496. and I put in

  497. my resignation,

  498. I was cut off

  499. from all these people.

  500. But on a church scale,

  501. and this is what

  502. we're looking at here,

  503. we're looking at Jesus

  504. amongst these Jews,

  505. these leaders

  506. who want to get rid of him,

  507. there's a great division.

  508. Thanks.

  509. And you can see here,

  510. this is from a young child,

  511. this is what was

  512. confronted me

  513. every Sunday.

  514. Why is this draped

  515. over the pulpit?

  516. What do you notice

  517. in the middle of it?

  518. What do you notice

  519. nobody knows anything?

  520. I'm going to take

  521. my glasses off,

  522. I can see it.

  523. It's the burning bush,

  524. isn't it?

  525. That draped over

  526. the pulpit

  527. of the Presbyterian church

  528. that I was in

  529. all my life.

  530. It's still up

  531. at Charlestown,

  532. the same,

  533. I think it's still

  534. in St Andrews.

  535. But in St Andrews,

  536. they had the most

  537. popular minister

  538. when I was a child

  539. for many years.

  540. He married June and I

  541. and it was just amazing

  542. how many people

  543. just flocked there.

  544. But he,

  545. like me and my father

  546. and a couple of my brothers,

  547. we were Freemasons.

  548. It was a

  549. liberal Presbyterian church.

  550. The gospel was not preached

  551. as we hear here

  552. every week.

  553. And after this man

  554. died,

  555. there came along

  556. eventually

  557. an evangelical Christian,

  558. a Dutchman,

  559. part of our

  560. Reformed Minister's

  561. Fellowship.

  562. And he started

  563. to preach

  564. the gospel

  565. that people

  566. were sinners

  567. and they needed

  568. to repent

  569. and believe

  570. in the Lord Jesus Christ

  571. to be saved.

  572. There was such

  573. a division

  574. in the church

  575. that one

  576. quite wealthy man

  577. offered

  578. quite a sum of money

  579. to get rid of him.

  580. I don't mean

  581. to bump him off.

  582. I mean

  583. just to get him

  584. out of the place.

  585. We don't want

  586. to hear him.

  587. However,

  588. Christ's love

  589. is sufficient

  590. but it is divisive.

  591. but I think

  592. the wonderful

  593. thing about it

  594. it's

  595. decisive.

  596. Verse 27

  597. through 29

  598. or through

  599. verse 30

  600. if you like.

  601. My sheep

  602. hear my voice

  603. and I know them

  604. and they follow me.

  605. I give them

  606. eternal life

  607. and they shall

  608. never perish.

  609. neither shall

  610. anyone snatch

  611. them out of

  612. my hand.

  613. My father

  614. who has given

  615. them to me

  616. is greater

  617. than all

  618. and no one

  619. is able to

  620. snatch them

  621. out of my

  622. father's hand.

  623. I and my

  624. father

  625. are one.

  626. I just think

  627. that's a

  628. marvellous passage

  629. don't you?

  630. If you're one

  631. of his sheep

  632. you can say

  633. praise the Lord

  634. I'm safe

  635. forever.

  636. none can

  637. snatch me

  638. out of the

  639. great

  640. I am's

  641. hand

  642. and if you

  643. like none

  644. can snatch

  645. us out of

  646. the father's

  647. hand

  648. who's greater

  649. than all

  650. he talks

  651. about

  652. but he's

  653. saying from

  654. the whole

  655. trinity

  656. no one

  657. can separate

  658. you from

  659. the love

  660. of God

  661. that's in

  662. Christ Jesus.

  663. You're safe

  664. for all

  665. eternity.

  666. but I've

  667. heard

  668. and I

  669. think some

  670. misguided

  671. Christians

  672. who think

  673. that they

  674. can pluck

  675. themselves

  676. out of

  677. his hand.

  678. I'm just

  679. amazed.

  680. They can

  681. talk about

  682. the sovereignty

  683. of God

  684. they can

  685. talk about

  686. him being

  687. the I

  688. am

  689. they can

  690. talk about

  691. him upholding

  692. all things

  693. by the

  694. word of

  695. his power

  696. and yet

  697. they think

  698. they can

  699. take him

  700. with their

  701. own free

  702. will

  703. out of

  704. his hand.

  705. My friend

  706. that's

  707. impossible.

  708. That's

  709. saying that

  710. you are

  711. above and

  712. stronger than

  713. the almighty

  714. himself.

  715. But what's

  716. the object

  717. of Christ

  718. coming into

  719. the world

  720. to save

  721. his people?

  722. Did you

  723. notice as

  724. Chris read

  725. you have

  726. a look at

  727. verse 10

  728. the thief

  729. does not

  730. come except

  731. to steal

  732. and to

  733. kill and

  734. to destroy.

  735. I have

  736. come

  737. says the

  738. Lord

  739. Jesus

  740. that they

  741. may have

  742. life and

  743. that they

  744. may have

  745. it more

  746. abundantly.

  747. Abundant

  748. life.

  749. Is that

  750. what you've

  751. had after?

  752. That's what

  753. I've had

  754. despite all

  755. the ups and

  756. downs.

  757. Abundant

  758. life.

  759. Fancy me

  760. being here

  761. this morning.

  762. Abundant

  763. life.

  764. I wonder

  765. if that's

  766. your experience

  767. or are

  768. you just

  769. struggling

  770. along

  771. hoping

  772. that you'll

  773. get to

  774. heaven.

  775. The Lord

  776. has come

  777. to give

  778. us life.

  779. I don't

  780. want to

  781. make light

  782. of the

  783. fact that

  784. we all

  785. have

  786. struggles

  787. and we

  788. all have

  789. our mental

  790. struggles

  791. and physical

  792. struggles

  793. and financial

  794. struggles

  795. or whatever

  796. it might

  797. be.

  798. But in

  799. Christ is

  800. abundant

  801. life.

  802. It's life

  803. to the

  804. fullest.

  805. and with

  806. all these

  807. problems and

  808. all these

  809. difficulties

  810. we face

  811. we have

  812. to look

  813. away from

  814. them and

  815. look to

  816. him.

  817. To see

  818. him for

  819. who he

  820. is and

  821. what he's

  822. done and

  823. what he

  824. will do.

  825. And no

  826. one can

  827. separate you

  828. from the

  829. love of

  830. God in

  831. Christ

  832. Jesus.

  833. Why would

  834. he leave

  835. his throne

  836. of glory?

  837. Why would

  838. he humble

  839. himself and

  840. take on the

  841. form of a

  842. man and

  843. endure such

  844. suffering at

  845. the hand of

  846. sinful man

  847. kind?

  848. Hebrews 12

    Hebrews 12:3

  849. verse 3

  850. tells us

  851. for the

  852. joy set

  853. before him

  854. he endured

  855. the cross

  856. and sat

  857. down on the

  858. right hand of

  859. the majesty

  860. on high.

  861. So therefore

  862. brethren seeing

  863. we're compassed

  864. about by so

  865. great a cloud

  866. of witnesses

  867. let us lay

  868. aside the

  869. sin that so

  870. easily besets

  871. us and run

  872. with endurance

  873. the right

  874. set before us

  875. looking unto

  876. Jesus the

  877. author and

  878. finisher of

  879. our faith.

  880. Let's pray.

  881. Father we

  882. thank you

  883. that you

  884. are the

  885. good shepherd

  886. the good

  887. shepherd that

  888. laid down

  889. your life

  890. for people

  891. like us

  892. and Father

  893. if it

  894. please you

  895. that you

  896. might speak

  897. to people

  898. today you

  899. call them

  900. by name

  901. and you

  902. call them

  903. to yourself

  904. that might

  905. have this

  906. great experience

  907. of being in

  908. a relationship

  909. with you

  910. the one who

  911. loved us

  912. and gave his

  913. life for us

  914. amen
