  1. Lamech at the end of chapter 4, instead of protecting her from her.

  2. The first lonely wanderer.

  3. And so on and so forth.

  4. And the patterns set in Genesis 3 continue to play themselves out

  5. in the history of the world, in the history of our families, in the history of our lives.

  6. Adam and Eve and all of their descendants not only lost their clear conscience,

  7. they lost their access to God's presence,

  8. and God's bountiful provision, and God's life-giving power.

  9. They were exiled from God's tabernacle and sent into the wilderness.

  10. Genesis 3.24, God drove out the man.

  11. And at the east of the Garden of Eden, he placed the cherubim, mighty warrior angels.

  12. That's what cherubim were.

  13. And a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

  14. So stage one in creation, we see unhindered access to God.

  15. And a clear conscience with no shame.

  16. Stage two, after the fall, driven out of God's presence with no way back in.

  17. Guilty, ashamed, and avoidant.

  18. And this is the world into which we are born and in which we live.

  19. It's what many biblical writers, including the author of Hebrews, refer to as the present age.

  20. But thankfully, the story of the Bible doesn't end here.

  21. Because God, in his mercy, continues to seek out a dwelling place with his people.

  22. And this leads us to stage three.

  23. The tabernacle in the wilderness.

  24. We read from Exodus in our first scripture reading.

  25. Exodus 25, where God commanded Moses to build a tabernacle in the midst of the wilderness.

  26. Exodus 25, 8, let them make me a sanctuary.

  27. In other words, a holy place set apart that I may dwell in their midst.

  28. Exodus 29, 45 and 46, I will dwell among the people of Israel and I will be their God.

  29. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them.

  30. And at the end of Exodus, as we read, the tabernacle was finally finished and the cloud of God's glory descended and came to dwell among his people and filled the tabernacle.

  31. This is the conclusion of the book of Exodus.

  32. It's the climax.

  33. God has come to dwell among his people once again.

  34. That's what the tabernacle was about.

  35. What we had lost in the Garden of Eden was now being restored.

  36. But not quite.

  37. And that's what the author of Hebrews is pointing out.

  38. If you turn back to Hebrews, chapter 9, he begins by saying,

    Hebrews 9 chapter mention

  39. Even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly place of holiness.

  40. In other words, the tabernacle was limited by its earthly nature and by its regulations.

  41. So first, the tabernacle was limited because it was earthly.

  42. In other words, it was made out of temporary materials donated by the people.

  43. Now, they were the best materials that we have.

  44. But it wasn't made to last forever.

  45. In fact, the tabernacle in the wilderness had already been destroyed and replaced twice.

  46. First, it was replaced by Solomon's temple.

  47. But then that was destroyed in the exile.

  48. And then that was rebuilt after they came back from exile.

  49. So the original tabernacle didn't even exist anymore.

  50. The point is, it was a temporary structure that would decay over time.

  51. And as it says in verse 9, that's a symbol for the world that we live in.

  52. The present age of decay and a fallen world.

  53. So the tabernacle was limited because it was earthly.

  54. But second, it was limited by its regulations.

  55. You know, it wasn't like the cherubim, the mighty warrior angels,

  56. standing at the entrance to the Garden of Eden,

  57. had just been, and that flaming sword flashing back and forth.

  58. It wasn't like that was just suddenly removed,

  59. and the gate was opened for any and everyone to come back into the Garden of Eden

  60. and enjoy all of its bounty once again.

  61. No, there were detailed regulations about how you could approach the presence of God.

  62. So he says, and he talks about some of these here.

  63. If you want to read all of them, you can read the full text in Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers.

  64. But he summarizes some of the main ones here.

  65. In verse 6 and 7, he says there are two sections in the tabernacle.

  66. And he says the priest would enter regularly into the first section

  67. to offer gifts and sacrifices.

  68. Now, if you weren't a priest, you couldn't even go in there.

  69. If you weren't a priest, you were pretty much on the outside, period.

  70. But the priest could go regularly into the first section.

  71. But then he says, but the second section,

  72. the most holy place represented the very presence of God.

  73. The most precious things were kept in the most holy place.

  74. In particular, the Ark of the Covenant,

  75. representing God coming to dwell with his people.

  76. The promise that God had made to bind himself to his people

  77. and the covenant that he had made.

  78. That was put in the most holy place.

  79. As well as the manna, a sign of God's provision for the people in the wilderness.

  80. Aaron's staff that budded, a sign of God's life-giving power and authority.

  81. And the tablets of the covenant, as we said.

  82. And then he says, above it, verse 5, were the cherubim of glory.

  83. The glorious angels overshadowing the mercy seat.

  84. And if you read in Exodus, the description of that,

  85. in Exodus 25, God says,

  86. that's where I will meet with you.

  87. He says, there I will meet with you,

  88. above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim.

  89. Exodus 25, 22.

  90. That was the place where the presence of God would come to dwell

  91. with his people in that innermost place.

  92. But the problem was,

  93. only the high priest could go in there.

  94. And only once a year.

  95. And only with a sacrifice.

  96. And then he'd do his thing,

  97. and then he'd leave.

  98. And he couldn't go in for another year.

  99. You see, the tabernacle in the wilderness was built to be

  100. the dwelling place of God among his people.

  101. But its very structure and its regulations

  102. communicated the distance

  103. and the barriers

  104. that still remained

  105. between people and God.

  106. And all the sacrifices

  107. that had to be repeated

  108. over and over again

  109. could never restore us

  110. to the freedom

  111. that Adam and Eve enjoyed

  112. in the garden before the fall.

  113. Because as he says in verse 10,

  114. there were only regulations for the body.

  115. Dealing with food and drink

  116. and various washings.

  117. They could never definitively

  118. cleanse our conscience.

  119. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had to be

  120. repeated all over again.

  121. They could never wash away

  122. our guilt and shame.

  123. Now, probably none of us here

  124. are planning to go to a tabernacle in Israel

  125. to be cleansed of our sins

  126. and our guilt.

  127. It doesn't even exist anymore.

  128. Nobody's going there.

  129. It was destroyed in 70 AD.

  130. But think for a moment.

  131. Think for a moment about all the other

  132. bodily regulations

  133. that we come up with.

  134. Seeking to cleanse our conscience.

  135. Seeking to bring us back

  136. into that life with God

  137. that Adam and Eve had

  138. in the Garden of Eden.

  139. I mean, isn't that the promise

  140. of many diets?

  141. Rules about food and drink

  142. that promise cleansing

  143. and freedom

  144. and freedom

  145. and long life

  146. if you follow them strictly.

  147. These foods are good.

  148. These foods are bad.

  149. If you follow these rules,

  150. you can feel good about yourself

  151. because you're better

  152. than everybody else who doesn't.

  153. Of course, it's unstable

  154. because the rules are always changing.

  155. If you read a dieting book

  156. from 20 or 30 years ago,

  157. it's completely outdated

  158. and been proved wrong

  159. by more recent research.

  160. But isn't it interesting?

  161. It's striking how we can look to food

  162. as a means

  163. not only to physical well-being

  164. but even to spiritual well-being.

  165. My wife and I are members

  166. of the co-op down the street,

  167. the Elm City Market.

  168. And a few months ago,

  169. I was walking by

  170. and they had an advertisement

  171. in the window

  172. that said something like,

  173. buy natural foods

  174. here at the co-op.

  175. Health for your body,

  176. mind, and spirit.

  177. And I thought, really?

  178. You know, if eating raw foods

  179. could make me

  180. or keep me spiritually healthy,

  181. I'll eat them every day of the year.

  182. I mean, hey, I'm okay with kale.

  183. I'm okay with broccoli too.

  184. But neither one

  185. will cleanse our soul.

  186. Now, of course,

  187. we can go to the other stream too.

  188. Overeating.

  189. Or compulsive eating.

  190. Not so much to cleanse our conscience

  191. as perhaps to dull our conscience.

  192. When we're feeling lonely

  193. or sad

  194. or ashamed

  195. or overwhelmed,

  196. we turn to food

  197. or coffee

  198. or alcohol

  199. or sweets

  200. to comfort us.

  201. But of course,

  202. the more we eat

  203. or the more we drink,

  204. the less pleasure

  205. we experience.

  206. And then sometimes

  207. we go back and forth

  208. between rigid legalistic dieting

  209. and unrestrained indulgence.

  210. And neither of them works.

  211. They only expose

  212. our shame

  213. and insecurity

  214. and our need

  215. for something more.

  216. Which brings us to stage four

  217. in God's plan

  218. to dwell among His people.

  219. verse 10 says,

  220. the tabernacle

  221. and its regulations

  222. were a temporary measure

  223. until the time

  224. of reformation.

  225. Reformation.

  226. You might ask,

  227. what does he mean

  228. by that phrase,

  229. the time of reformation?

  230. Well, that word

  231. reformation

  232. could also be translated

  233. reconstruction.

  234. It referred to something

  235. being reformed

  236. or reshaped

  237. or rebuilt.

  238. Reformation was needed

  239. when a building

  240. was in disrepair,

  241. when an account

  242. was overdue

  243. or when a law

  244. became ineffective.

  245. And the Old Testament

  246. prophets,

  247. including in particular

  248. Ezekiel and Zechariah,

  249. looked forward to a day

  250. when the tabernacle,

  251. God's dwelling place

  252. with His people,

  253. would be gloriously restored

  254. and all the world

  255. would see it.

  256. And a river

  257. would flow out from it.

  258. Ezekiel described it.

  259. A river flowing out

  260. from the new temple

  261. giving life

  262. to all creation

  263. like the Garden of Eden

  264. once again.

  265. Now the message

  266. of the New Testament

  267. is that in the coming

  268. of Jesus Christ,

  269. that day

  270. has arrived.

  271. That in Jesus Christ,

  272. God has established

  273. and anchored

  274. a permanent dwelling place

  275. among His people.

  276. As we heard earlier,

  277. Matt read this

  278. at the beginning

  279. of the service,

  280. the Word became flesh

  281. and dwelt among us.

  282. We have seen His glory.

  283. Jesus Christ

  284. is now the place

  285. where God

  286. and humanity

  287. meet together.

  288. and are inseparably joined.

  289. He is the one

  290. through whom our conscience

  291. can be cleansed,

  292. not just temporarily,

  293. but forevermore.

  294. And because Jesus has come,

  295. the physical tabernacle

  296. and all its rules

  297. and regulations

  298. and all the other rules

  299. and regulations

  300. that we come up with

  301. to try to cleanse

  302. our own conscience

  303. and make us right

  304. with God

  305. have been superseded.

  306. Jesus said

  307. in Matthew 12, 6,

  308. I tell you,

  309. something greater

  310. than the temple

  311. is here.

  312. Or John chapter 2,

    John 2 chapter mention

  313. Jesus goes into the temple

  314. and He drives out

  315. the vendors

  316. and the money changers

  317. and the religious leaders

  318. confront Him

  319. and say,

  320. what are you doing?

  321. You're acting like

  322. you own this place.

  323. And Jesus said,

  324. destroy this temple

  325. and in three days

  326. I will raise it up.

  327. They didn't get

  328. what He was saying,

  329. but John explains

  330. He was speaking

  331. about the temple

  332. of His body.

  333. Jesus' own body

  334. that would be

  335. demolished on the cross

  336. but gloriously rebuilt

  337. in His resurrection.

  338. You see,

  339. through Jesus' death

  340. and resurrection

  341. He has established

  342. a permanent dwelling place

  343. of God

  344. with His people.

  345. Because through Jesus'

  346. sacrifice on the cross

  347. He's made provision

  348. for our conscience

  349. to be cleansed,

  350. for our guilt

  351. and shame

  352. to be removed,

  353. for our access

  354. to God's presence

  355. to be restored,

  356. for our lives

  357. to be rebuilt.

  358. Once more,

  359. in Him.

  360. When Adam and Eve

  361. were sent away

  362. from the garden,

  363. God placed

  364. at the entrance

  365. the angels

  366. to guard

  367. the entrance

  368. with a flaming sword

  369. flashing back and forth,

  370. the sword

  371. of divine justice.

  372. For Adam and Eve

  373. had sinned

  374. and the wages

  375. of sin is death.

  376. But when Jesus Christ

  377. who was without sin

  378. died on the cross,

  379. He went under

  380. that flaming sword

  381. of divine justice.

  382. And because He died,

  383. the way is now

  384. open for us

  385. to enter into

  386. God's presence

  387. once more

  388. without hindrance.

  389. the price

  390. has been paid.

  391. And because Jesus

  392. has offered

  393. that once-for-all

  394. sacrifice,

  395. we now have access

  396. to that life-giving river

  397. that flowed

  398. through the Garden of Eden

  399. and that Ezekiel

  400. foresaw

  401. would one day

  402. be restored,

  403. the life-giving river

  404. that never runs dry.

  405. And when Jesus

  406. was on earth,

  407. He talked about that.

  408. And He said,

  409. that's the Holy Spirit.

  410. John chapter 7,

    John 7 chapter mention

  411. Jesus went to Jerusalem

  412. for the Feast

  413. of Tabernacles,

  414. the feast

  415. that celebrated

  416. God's dwelling

  417. among His people

  418. when they came

  419. out of Egypt

  420. in the wilderness.

  421. And on the last

  422. and greatest day

  423. of the feast,

  424. He stood up,

  425. John 7, 37,

  426. and He cried out,

  427. if anyone thirsts,

  428. let him come

  429. to Me

  430. and drink.

  431. Whoever believes

  432. in Me,

  433. as the Scripture

  434. has said,

  435. out of his heart

  436. will flow

  437. rivers

  438. of living

  439. water.

  440. He said this

  441. about the Spirit

  442. whom those

  443. who believed

  444. in Him

  445. were to receive.

  446. You see,

  447. through Jesus

  448. we have access

  449. once more

  450. to the presence

  451. of God,

  452. to the life-giving

  453. power of God,

  454. to the provision

  455. of God.

  456. It's the same

  457. promise that Jesus

  458. made when He met

  459. the Samaritan woman

  460. at the well.

  461. She had been

  462. married and

  463. divorced five times

  464. and was living

  465. with another man

  466. who wasn't her

  467. husband.

  468. For all kinds

  469. of reasons,

  470. she would have

  471. been excluded

  472. from the temple

  473. in Jerusalem,

  474. not even able

  475. to go in

  476. to the outer court.

  477. And yet,

  478. Jesus comes to her

  479. and she's sitting

  480. at the well

  481. and He says

  482. to her,

  483. everyone who

  484. drinks this water,

  485. He engages her

  486. in conversation.

  487. In the course

  488. of the conversation

  489. He says,

  490. everyone who

  491. drinks this water

  492. will be thirsty

  493. again.

  494. But whoever

  495. drinks the water

  496. that I give him

  497. will never

  498. be thirsty

  499. forever.

  500. Because the water

  501. that I give

  502. will become

  503. in that person

  504. a river,

  505. a spring of living

  506. water,

  507. welling up

  508. to eternal life.

  509. Jesus,

  510. wow,

  511. no one else

  512. has ever

  513. promised that.

  514. That's what

  515. Jesus promises.

  516. No matter

  517. what our past,

  518. no matter

  519. how qualified

  520. we might seem

  521. on the outside

  522. before others,

  523. Jesus offers

  524. a way

  525. into God's

  526. presence

  527. and living

  528. water

  529. that will

  530. never run

  531. dry.

  532. When Jesus

  533. talked about

  534. the work

  535. of the Holy

  536. Spirit,

  537. He said,

  538. peace I leave

  539. with you.

  540. My peace

  541. I give you.

  542. I do not

  543. give to you

  544. as the world

  545. gives.

  546. Do not let

  547. your hearts

  548. be troubled

  549. and do not

  550. be afraid.

  551. And then

  552. He went on

  553. to talk

  554. about joy.

  555. He said,

  556. you will be

  557. sorrowful,

  558. but your sorrow

  559. will turn

  560. to joy.

  561. You have sorrow

  562. now,

  563. but I will

  564. see you again

  565. and your

  566. hearts will

  567. rejoice

  568. and no one

  569. will take

  570. your joy

  571. from you.

  572. Ask

  573. and you

  574. will receive

  575. that your

  576. joy may

  577. be full.

  578. This is the

  579. promise that

  580. Jesus offers.

  581. Joy

  582. and peace

  583. from the

  584. Holy Spirit,

  585. the river

  586. of life-giving

  587. water

  588. flowing through

  589. us,

  590. cleansing

  591. from all

  592. of our

  593. guilt

  594. and shame.

  595. Finally,

  596. stage five,

  597. the tabernacle

  598. yet to come.

  599. You see,

  600. what we have

  601. now,

  602. according to

  603. the Bible,

  604. it's only

  605. the beginning.

  606. Because at

  607. the end

  608. of the Bible,

  609. Revelation 21

  610. and 22

  611. gives us a

  612. picture of

  613. the tabernacle

  614. yet to come,

  615. the eternal

  616. dwelling place

  617. of God

  618. with His

  619. people.

  620. I want

  621. to close

  622. by simply

  623. reading

  624. some of

  625. the

  626. description

  627. that it

  628. gives.

  629. Revelation

  630. 21,

  631. then I

  632. saw a

  633. new heaven

  634. and a

  635. new earth.

  636. For the

  637. first heaven

  638. and the

  639. first earth

  640. had passed

  641. away,

  642. and I

  643. saw the

  644. holy city,

  645. the new

  646. Jerusalem,

  647. coming down

  648. out of heaven

  649. from God,

  650. prepared as a

  651. bride adorned

  652. for her

  653. husband.

  654. And I

  655. heard a

  656. loud voice

  657. from the

  658. throne saying,

  659. behold,

  660. the dwelling

  661. place of

  662. God

  663. is with

  664. man.

  665. He will

  666. dwell with

  667. them,

  668. and they

  669. will be

  670. his people,

  671. and God

  672. himself will

  673. be with

  674. them as

  675. their God.

  676. He will

  677. wipe away

  678. every tear

  679. from their

  680. eyes,

  681. and death

  682. shall be

  683. no more.

  684. Neither

  685. shall there

  686. be mourning,

  687. nor crying,

  688. nor pain

  689. anymore,

  690. for the

  691. former things

  692. have passed

  693. away.

  694. And he

  695. who was

  696. seated on

  697. the throne

  698. said,

  699. behold,

  700. I am

  701. making

  702. all

  703. things

  704. new.

  705. Verse 22,

  706. he says,

  707. I saw

  708. no temple

  709. in the

  710. city.

  711. There's

  712. no need

  713. for a

  714. physical

  715. structure

  716. set apart,

  717. for its

  718. temple is

  719. the Lord

  720. God,

  721. the Almighty,

  722. and the

  723. Lamb.

  724. And the

  725. city has

  726. no need

  727. of sun

  728. or moon

  729. to shine

  730. on it,

  731. for the

  732. glory of

  733. God

  734. gives it

  735. light,

  736. and its

  737. lamp

  738. is the

  739. Lamb,

  740. Jesus

  741. Christ.

  742. Chapter

  743. 22,

  744. then the

  745. angel

  746. showed me

  747. the river

  748. of the

  749. water

  750. of life,

  751. brightest

  752. crystal

  753. flowing

  754. from the

  755. throne

  756. of God

  757. and of

  758. the

  759. Lamb

  760. through

  761. the

  762. middle

  763. of the

  764. street

  765. of the

  766. city.

  767. On

  768. either

  769. side

  770. of the

  771. river

  772. the

  773. tree

  774. of

  775. life,

  776. with

  777. its

  778. twelve

  779. kinds

  780. of

  781. fruit,

  782. yielding

  783. its

  784. fruit

  785. every

  786. month.

  787. The

  788. leaves

  789. of the

  790. tree

  791. were

  792. for the

  793. healing

  794. of

  795. the

  796. nations.

  797. No

  798. longer

  799. will

  800. there

  801. be

  802. anything

  803. accursed,

  804. but the

  805. throne

  806. of God

  807. and of

  808. the

  809. Lamb

  810. will

  811. be

  812. in

  813. it

  814. and

  815. his

  816. servants

  817. will

  818. worship

  819. him.

  820. They

  821. will

  822. see

  823. his

  824. face

  825. and

  826. his

  827. name

  828. will

  829. be

  830. on

  831. their

  832. foreheads

  833. and

  834. night

  835. will

  836. be

  837. no

  838. more.

  839. They

  840. will

  841. need

  842. no

  843. light

  844. of

  845. lamp

  846. or

  847. sun

  848. for

  849. the

  850. Lord

  851. God

  852. will

  853. be

  854. their

  855. light

  856. and

  857. they

  858. will

  859. reign

  860. forever

  861. and

  862. ever.

  863. You

  864. see,

  865. in Jesus

  866. Christ,

  867. we can

  868. face our

  869. greatest

  870. problems

  871. because

  872. in

  873. Jesus

  874. Christ,

  875. we

  876. have a

  877. completely

  878. sufficient

  879. solution.

  880. The price

  881. has been

  882. paid.

  883. The way

  884. has been

  885. opened.

  886. This is

  887. the promise

  888. that he

  889. offers.

  890. So he

  891. invites us,

  892. let us draw

  893. near to

  894. God through

  895. him.

  896. That's how

  897. the Bible

  898. ends.

  899. The spirit

  900. and the

  901. bride

  902. say,

  903. come.

  904. And let

  905. the one

  906. who hears

  907. say,

  908. come.

  909. And let

  910. the one

  911. who is

  912. thirsty

  913. come.

  914. Let the

  915. one who

  916. desires

  917. take the

  918. water of

  919. life

  920. without

  921. price.

  922. Let us

  923. pray.

  924. Almighty

  925. God,

  926. we thank

  927. you

  928. that in

  929. your mercy

  930. you have

  931. sought to

  932. establish a

  933. dwelling place

  934. with us,

  935. your people.

  936. We thank

  937. you,

  938. Lord,

  939. for the

  940. price you

  941. paid to

  942. cleanse us

  943. from guilt

  944. and shame,

  945. to open

  946. the way,

  947. a new

  948. and living

  949. way of

  950. access to

  951. your presence.

  952. Lord,

  953. we pray that

  954. we might

  955. come.

  956. And Lord,

  957. as we look

  958. forward to

  959. that day

  960. when what we

  961. just heard

  962. will be

  963. the complete

  964. reality,

  965. we pray

  966. that we

  967. would

  968. experience

  969. the

  970. life-giving

  971. river of

  972. your Holy

  973. Spirit

  974. flowing through

  975. us today.

  976. We pray

  977. that we

  978. would experience

  979. the assurance

  980. of sins

  981. forgiven,

  982. of conscience

  983. cleansed,

  984. of death

  985. defeated,

  986. and life

  987. without end.

  988. In Jesus'

  989. name,

  990. amen.

  991. Amen.

  992. Well,

  993. as the music

  994. team comes

  995. forward,

  996. we're going

  997. to sing

  998. our closing

  999. song,

  1000. Beautiful

  1001. Savior.

  1002. This speaks

  1003. about the

  1004. assurance and

  1005. the confidence

  1006. that we can

  1007. have in

  1008. Christ and

  1009. how he's

  1010. come to

  1011. dwell among

  1012. us.

  1013. So let's

  1014. stand as we

  1015. sing in

  1016. praise to

  1017. him.

  1018. Amen.

  1019. Amen.

  1020. Amen.

  1021. Amen.

  1022. Amen.

  1023. Amen.

  1024. Amen.

  1025. Amen.

  1026. Amen.

  1027. Amen.

  1028. Amen.

  1029. Amen.

  1030. Amen.

  1031. Amen.

  1032. Amen.

  1033. Amen.

  1034. Amen.

  1035. Amen.

  1036. Amen.

  1037. Amen.

  1038. Amen.

  1039. Amen.

  1040. Amen.

  1041. Amen.

  1042. Amen.

  1043. Amen.

  1044. Amen.

  1045. Amen.

  1046. Amen.

  1047. Amen.

  1048. Amen.

  1049. Amen.

  1050. Amen.

  1051. Amen.

  1052. All my days

  1053. I will sing

  1054. this song

  1055. of gladness

  1056. Give my praise

  1057. to the fountain

  1058. of delight

  1059. Lord of history

  1060. You're the way

  1061. that we are

  1062. Lord of history

  1063. For in my heart

  1064. For in my heart

  1065. You heard my cry

  1066. And waves of mercy

1067. Pour down on my life

  1068. Beautiful Savior

  1069. Wonderful Counselor

  1070. You're the way

  1071. Father

  1072. Cloth and majesty

  1073. Lord of history

  1074. You're the way

  1075. The truth

  1076. The light

  1077. Star of the morning

  1078. Glorious in holiness

  1079. You're the risen one

  1080. Heaven's champion

  1081. And you reign

  1082. You reign over all

  1083. And I will trust

  1084. In the cross

  1085. Of my redeemer

  1086. I will sing

  1087. I will sing

  1088. Of the blood

  1089. That never fails

  1090. Of sins forgiven

  1091. Of conscience closed

  1092. Of death defeated

  1093. And life without end

  1094. Beautiful Savior

  1095. Wonderful Counselor

  1096. Lord of the Lord

  1097. You're the faithful

  1098. Counselor

  1099. Cloth and majesty

  1100. Lord of history

  1101. You're the way

  1102. The truth

  1103. The life

  1104. Star of the morning

  1105. Glorious in holiness

  1106. You're the risen one

  1107. Heaven's champion

  1108. And you reign

  1109. You reign over all

1110. And I long to be

1111. Where the praise is never ending

  1112. Turn to dwell

1113. Where the glory never fades

1114. Where countless worshipers will shine

  1115. Will share one's soul

  1116. And Christ the Lord

1117. And I long to be

1118. Where the praise is never ending

1119. And I long to be

1120. Where the praise is never ending

  1121. Turn to dwell

1122. Where the glory never fades

1123. Where countless worshipers will share one's soul

1124. And Christ the love worthy will honor the Lord

  1125. Beautiful Savior

  1126. Wonderful Counselor

  1127. Lord of majesty

  1128. Lord of history

  1129. You're the way

  1130. The truth

  1131. The life

  1132. Star of the morning

  1133. Glorious in holiness

  1134. You're the risen one

  1135. Heaven's champion

  1136. And you reign

  1137. You reign over all

1138. Thanks for joining us this morning

1139. We invite you to stay around either up here or downstairs

1140. Where there is coffee and refreshments

1141. To greet and encourage one another

  1142. I receive God's word of blessing

1143. From the book of Revelation

  1144. He who testifies
