  1. Good evening, church.

  2. Tonight, we will look at the last chapter of 2 Samuel, chapter 24.

    2 Samuel 24 chapter mention

  3. We'll come to the conclusion of our series on Book of Samuel.

  4. Last week, a group of kids from Bridges of Hope mentoring program told me that I speak

  5. with an accent.

  6. And jokingly, I told the kids, you guys are breaking my heart.

  7. I've been practicing past 30 years trying to perfect my English.

  8. So pardon my accent and put up with my accent for a little while.

  9. So this chapter has three sections.

  10. First section is about David's census.

  11. And then the second section is the Lord's judgment of David's sin.

  12. And then the third section, David builds on altar.

  13. And as we study this chapter, we will see what does this...

  14. You may think this is just a moment in ancient history, but it's not.

  15. It teaches us many things.

  16. And we will look into this tonight.

  17. Let us pray.

  18. Lord Jesus, thank you for gathering us here tonight.

  19. Lord God, we ask for your grace and mercy.

  20. And Lord, we pray that your words will touch each one of us in different ways.

  21. For those who need hope, give them hope.

  22. For those who need healing, give them healing.

  23. But Lord, teach us about our perfect King, Jesus, tonight.

  24. In your mighty name we pray.

  25. Amen.

  26. All right, let us turn to...

  27. In your pew Bible, it's page 277.

  28. Page 277.

  29. 2 Samuel chapter 24.

    2 Samuel 24 chapter mention

  30. Again, the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.

  31. And he incited David against them, saying,

  32. Go number Israel and Judah.

  33. So the king said to Joab, the commander of the army who was with him,

  34. Go through all the tribes of Israel.

  35. Go through all the tribes of Israel.

  36. From Dan to Beersheba,

  37. and number the people that I may know the number of the people.

  38. But Joab said to the king,

  39. May the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are,

  40. while the eyes of my lord the king still see it.

  41. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?

  42. But the king's war prevailed against Joab and the commanders of the army.

  43. So Joab and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the king

  44. to number the people of Israel.

  45. They crossed the Jordan and began from Aror and from the city that is in the middle of the valley

  46. toward Gad and onto Jazar.

  47. Then they came to Gilead and to Kadesh in the land of the Hittites.

  48. And they came to Dan and from Dan they went around to Sidon

  49. and came to the fortress of Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and Canaanites.

  50. And they went out to the Negev of Judah at Beersheba.

  51. So when they had gone through all the land,

  52. they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

  53. And Joab gave the sum of the numbering of the people to the king.

  54. In Israel there were eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword.

  55. And the men of Judah were five hundred thousand.

  56. Now the beginning of this chapter, it was a little confusing.

  57. Why would God incite David against Israel?

  58. Why would God tell David to go number his people?

  59. And then it was counted as great sin.

  60. It was hard to comprehend.

  61. But if you look at the parallel account in 1 Chronicles chapter 21,

    1 Chronicles 21 chapter mention

  62. we may have a better understanding.

  63. So let's turn to page 350 in your pew Bible.

  64. And like I said, this is the parallel account of the same event.

  65. And let's see how this was recorded in 1 Chronicles.

  66. 1 Chronicles chapter 21.

    1 Chronicles 21 chapter mention

  67. Then Satan stood against Israel and incited David to number Israel.

  68. So David said to Joab and the commanders of the army,

  69. go number Israel from Beersheba to Dan.

  70. And then I'm going to skip down to verse 6.

  71. But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering.

  72. For the king's command was abhorrent to Joab.

  73. King's command was so offensive and detestable.

  74. Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin.

  75. And we'll come back to this.

  76. So in God's sovereignty,

  77. he may have allowed Satan to incite David.

  78. Because God neither tempts men or neither get tempted.

  79. And that's in James chapter 1 verses 13 through 15.

    James 1:13–15

  80. It is our own desire.

  81. When we are lured and enticed by our own desire.

  82. And when our desire gives birth to sin.

  83. And then when sin fully grows,

  84. it brings death.

  85. So when you look at this account of what happened,

  86. I believe King David,

  87. I was trying to figure out why did King David

  88. go against his military commander's advice.

  89. Joab said, my Lord, don't do this.

  90. You are committing sin.

  91. Was it King David to pride?

  92. That he wanted to number the military men

  93. and to see how much he has accomplished?

  94. Or was it because he,

  95. for the moment,

  96. did he lack faith in God?

  97. Or did he not trust God completely?

  98. Maybe he was worrying about another invasion

  99. and wondering,

  100. do I have enough military power

  101. to defend my country?

  102. Whatever the reason was,

  103. whether he did this out of pride,

  104. whether he did this out of,

  105. you know, lacking trust in God,

  106. it was counted as a great sin.

  107. His commander, Joab,

  108. fully understood that.

  109. And in 1 Chronicles account,

  110. he asks King David,

  111. why do you cause our nation

  112. to be guilty by doing this?

  113. And yet King David,

  114. maybe he was so blinded

  115. by his own pride and his sin,

  116. he just pushed forward.

  117. So his word prevailed against Joab

  118. and the rest of the commanders of the army.

  119. Now, the first census was done

  120. in the time of Moses.

  121. The first census,

  122. God told Moses to number all the people

  123. except the tribe of Levi.

  124. The second census,

  125. God told Moses the same thing.

  126. Number the people

  127. except the tribe of Levi.

  128. Because he wanted to know

  129. how he can divide the land

  130. and give inheritance

  131. according to the number of tribes.

  132. Now, King David here,

  133. he tells Joab,

  134. go number all tribe.

  135. In 1 Chronicles,

  136. Joab purposely excluded Levi.

  137. So Joab knew

  138. that was also wrong,

  139. that you are not,

  140. when you do the census,

  141. you are not supposed to include Levi.

  142. But King David's command was,

  143. go ahead

  144. and go through all the tribe.

  145. Now, I think we can relate to this

  146. because we also,

  147. out of our own desire,

  148. we conceive an idea

  149. and that can be totally against God.

  150. And sometimes,

  151. just like Joab advised King David

  152. not to do this

  153. because you're about to bring guilt

  154. guilt of this entire nation.

  155. We sometimes hear the same kind of advice

  156. through our brothers and sisters in Christ

  157. when you listen to a sermon

  158. or when you are reading scripture.

  159. You get this kind of conviction.

  160. And yet,

  161. a lot of times,

  162. don't we just ignore that

  163. and just push forward

  164. because we are enticed

  165. by our own desire.

  166. So I think we can relate to

  167. what David did here.

  168. Moving on to

  169. verse 10.

  170. But David's heart

  171. struck him

  172. after he had numbered the people.

  173. And David said to the Lord,

  174. I have sinned greatly

  175. in what I have done.

  176. But now, O Lord,

  177. please take away

  178. the iniquity of your servant

  179. for I have done

  180. very foolishly.

  181. And when David arose

  182. in the morning,

  183. the word of the Lord

  184. came to the prophet Gad,

  185. David's seer,

  186. saying,

  187. Go and say to David,

  188. Thus says the Lord,

  189. Three things I offer you.

  190. Choose one of them

  191. that I may do it to you.

  192. So Gad came to David

  193. and told him

  194. and said to him,

  195. Shall three years of famine

  196. come to you

  197. in your land?

  198. Or will you flee

  199. three months

  200. before your foes

  201. while they pursue you?

  202. David must have said,

  203. Oh no,

  204. not again.

  205. I've been chased by Saul.

  206. I've been chased by Philistines.

  207. I've been even chased

  208. by my own son Absalom.

  209. So he must have

  210. shook his head.

  211. Or shall there be

  212. three days pestilence

  213. in your land?

  214. Now consider and decide

  215. what answer

  216. I shall return to him

  217. who sent me.

  218. Then David said to Gad,

  219. I am in great distress.

  220. Let us fall into

  221. the hand of the Lord,

  222. for his mercy is great.

  223. But let me not

  224. fall into the hand of man.

  225. So the Lord sent

  226. the pestilence

  227. on Israel

  228. from the morning

  229. until the appointed time.

  230. And there died

  231. of the people

  232. from Dan to Beersheba

  233. 70,000 men.

  234. And when the angel

  235. stretched out his hand

  236. toward Jerusalem

  237. to destroy it,

  238. the Lord relented

  239. from the calamity

  240. and said to the angel

  241. who was working

  242. destruction

  243. among the people,

  244. It is enough.

  245. Now stay your hand.

  246. And the angel

  247. of the Lord

  248. was by the threshing floor

  249. of Arona the Jebusite.

  250. Then David spoke

  251. to the Lord

  252. when he saw

  253. the angel

  254. who was striking

  255. the people

  256. and said,

  257. Behold,

  258. I have sinned

  259. and I have done wickedly.

  260. But these sheep,

  261. what have they done?

  262. Please let your hand

  263. be against me

  264. and against

  265. my father's house.

  266. So when you

  267. read this part,

  268. you know,

  269. you can't help

  270. but wonder

  271. 70,000 men

  272. died

  273. because of what

  274. King David did.

  275. So Pastor Matt

  276. and I were

  277. talking about this

  278. the other day

  279. and he

  280. brought out

  281. a really

  282. excellent point.

  283. we're living

  284. in such

  285. an individualistic

  286. culture

  287. and society.

  288. You know,

  289. we immediately

  290. we think

  291. as long as

  292. I didn't do

  293. the wrong,

  294. you know,

  295. why should I suffer?

  296. King David

  297. did this wrong

  298. and what

  299. these 70,000

  300. people have

  301. to do with it.

  302. But if you

  303. think in a more

  304. communal sense,

  305. for example,

  306. let's use

  307. a sports team.

  308. If a head

  309. coach

  310. makes

  311. a really

  312. poor,

  313. almost

  314. ridiculously

  315. dumb decision

  316. at a championship

  317. game against

  318. his three

  319. assistant coaches

  320. and let's

  321. say they

  322. lost the

  323. championship

  324. game,

  325. who takes

  326. the consequences?

  327. Who suffers?

  328. Is it just

  329. the head

  330. coach

  331. or the

  332. whole team

  333. or even

  334. the fan base?

  335. Another

  336. example

  337. will be

  338. say

  339. a father

  340. of family

  341. of six.

  342. This

  343. dad

  344. gets

  345. really

  346. greedy.

  347. He

  348. overcomes

  349. with

  350. greed

  351. and then

  352. he makes

  353. really bad

  354. financial

  355. decisions.

  356. He decides

  357. to invest

  358. in some

  359. get-rich-quick

  360. scheme,

  361. invest all

  362. his savings,

  363. all the

  364. kids'

  365. college

  366. savings,

  367. even takes

  368. out a

  369. home equity

  370. loan and

  371. just put

  372. everything

  373. into that

  374. investment

  375. and then

  376. the money

  377. starts to

  378. bleed.

  379. Now,

  380. who suffers

  381. the consequences?

  382. Is it

  383. just the

  384. dad or

  385. is it

  386. the whole

  387. family,

  388. his wife,

  389. his children?

  390. So,

  391. when the

  392. head of

  393. the nation,

  394. like King

  395. David,

  396. when he

  397. commits

  398. this sin,

  399. unfortunately,

  400. it's the

  401. 70,000

  402. of men

  403. got killed

  404. by the

  405. pestilence.

  406. man

  407. and

  408. he

  409. is

  410. the

  411. king

  412. of

  413. the

  414. king

  415. David,

  416. when he's

  417. confronted

  418. by the

  419. prophet,

  420. he doesn't

  421. give out

  422. excuses.

  423. He

  424. immediately

  425. humbles

  426. himself

  427. and then

  428. he starts

  429. to repent.

  430. a few

  431. chapters

  432. ago,

  433. when he

  434. killed

  435. Riah,

  436. when he

  437. took his

  438. wife,

  439. prophet

  440. Nathan

  441. came and

  442. confronted

  443. David

  444. and King

  445. David

  446. did not

  447. give any

  448. excuse.

  449. He

  450. told

  451. prophet

  452. Nathan

  453. he has

  454. committed

  455. sin against

  456. God and

  457. he started

  458. to repent.

  459. and he

  460. does the

  461. same

  462. thing

  463. here.

  464. When you

  465. read

  466. verse

  467. 17,

  468. King

  469. David

  470. says,

  471. behold,

  472. I have

  473. sinned

  474. and I

  475. have

  476. done

  477. wickedly

  478. but

  479. these

  480. sheep,

  481. what

  482. have

  483. they

  484. done?

  485. Please

  486. let your

  487. hand be

  488. against

  489. me and

  490. against

  491. my

  492. father's

  493. house.

  494. So he

  495. owns up

  496. to his

  497. problem

  498. and

  499. he

  500. throws

  501. himself

  502. at the

  503. mercy

  504. of

  505. God.

  506. Verse

  507. 14,

  508. then David

  509. said to

  510. Gad,

  511. I am

  512. in great

  513. distress.

  514. Let us

  515. fall into

  516. the hand

  517. of the

  518. Lord,

  519. for his

  520. mercy is

  521. great,

  522. but let

  523. me not

  524. fall into

  525. the hand

  526. of man.

  527. Are we

  528. ready to

  529. do that?

  530. when we

  531. falter,

  532. when we

  533. fall,

  534. when we

  535. commit

  536. sin against

  537. God,

  538. are we

  539. ready?

  540. When

  541. somebody,

  542. when God

  543. points it

  544. out to

  545. us,

  546. that you

  547. have done

  548. this wrong,

  549. you know,

  550. whether through

  551. reading a

  552. scripture,

  553. again,

  554. whether while

  555. you're listening

  556. to a sermon,

  557. whether through

  558. your brothers

  559. or sisters in

  560. Christ,

  561. point something

  562. out to you.

  563. are we

  564. ready to

  565. humble

  566. ourselves

  567. like King

  568. David

  569. immediately

  570. and then

  571. start to

  572. seek God's

  573. mercy?

  574. What he

  575. said here

  576. is really

  577. amazing,

  578. that he

  579. wants to

  580. fall into

  581. hand of

  582. God for

  583. his mercy

  584. is great,

  585. but don't

  586. let me

  587. fall into

  588. the hand

  589. of man.

  590. in the

  591. third

  592. section,

  593. verse

  594. 18,

  595. and Gad

  596. came that

  597. day to

  598. David and

  599. said to

  600. him,

  601. go up,

  602. raise an

  603. altar to

  604. the Lord

  605. on the

  606. threshing

  607. floor of

  608. Arona

  609. the Jebusite.

  610. David went

  611. up at

  612. Gad's

  613. word as

  614. the Lord

  615. commanded,

  616. and when

  617. Arona

  618. looked down,

  619. he saw the

  620. king and

  621. his servants

  622. coming on

  623. toward him,

  624. and Arona

  625. went out

  626. and paid

  627. homage to

  628. the king

  629. with his

  630. face to

  631. the ground,

  632. and Arona

  633. said,

  634. why has

  635. my lord

  636. the king

  637. come to

  638. his servant?

  639. David

  640. said,

  641. to buy

  642. the threshing

  643. floor from

  644. you in

  645. order to

  646. build an

  647. altar to

  648. the Lord,

  649. that the

  650. plague may

  651. be averted

  652. from the

  653. people.

  654. Then Arona

  655. said to

  656. David,

  657. let my

  658. lord the

  659. king take

  660. and offer

  661. up what

  662. seems good

  663. to him.

  664. Here are

  665. the oxen

  666. for the

  667. burnt

  668. offering,

  669. and the

  670. threshing

  671. sledges and

  672. the yokes

  673. of the

  674. oxen for

  675. the wood.

  676. All this,

  677. O king,

  678. Arona

  679. gives to

  680. the king.

  681. And Arona

  682. said to

  683. the king,

  684. may the

  685. lord your

  686. god accept

  687. you.

  688. But the

  689. king said

  690. to Arona,

  691. no,

  692. but I

  693. will buy

  694. it from

  695. you for

  696. a price.

  697. I will

  698. not

  699. offer

  700. burnt

  701. offerings to

  702. the lord,

  703. my god,

  704. they cost

  705. me nothing.

  706. So David

  707. bought the

  708. threshing

  709. floor and

  710. the oxen

  711. for 50

  712. shekels of

  713. silver.

  714. And David

  715. built there

  716. an altar

  717. to the

  718. lord and

  719. offered

  720. burnt

  721. offerings

  722. and peace

  723. offerings.

  724. So the

  725. lord responded

  726. to the

  727. plea for

  728. the land.

  729. And the

  730. plague was

  731. averted

  732. from people.

  733. temple.

  734. So where

  735. David

  736. builds the

  737. altar

  738. and this

  739. is where

  740. Solomon

  741. would build

  742. God's

  743. temple

  744. later on.

  745. And here

  746. if you look

  747. at verse

  748. 24,

  749. King David

  750. said,

  751. I will

  752. not

  753. offer

  754. burnt

  755. offerings

  756. to the

  757. lord,

  758. my god,

  759. that cost

  760. me

  761. nothing.

  762. Does this

  763. remind you

  764. of something?

  765. That it

  766. cost?

  767. Well,

  768. the sacrifice

  769. for our

  770. atonement

  771. costed

  772. God,

  773. his son's

  774. life.

  775. As I was

  776. reading this

  777. verse,

  778. yes,

  779. just like

  780. David

  781. wanted to

  782. bring an

  783. offering

  784. that cost

  785. something.

  786. Our

  787. atonement

  788. came at

  789. a great

  790. price to

  791. God,

  792. his son's

  793. life.

  794. Now,

  795. King David,

  796. as we

  797. have studied

  798. the book

  799. of Samuel,

  800. was a

  801. great king,

  802. just like

  803. Pastor Nick

  804. preached this

  805. morning.

  806. He was

  807. a man

  808. after God's

  809. own heart.

  810. Israelites

  811. maybe,

  812. you know,

  813. they thought

  814. this is

  815. the king.

  816. But he

  817. had his

  818. flaws,

  819. he had his

  820. faults.

  821. And this

  822. particular

  823. incident,

  824. look what

  825. happened to

  826. his people.

  827. Because of

  828. his sin,

  829. 70,000

  830. people have

  831. died.

  832. died.

  833. Now,

  834. let's

  835. look at

  836. our king,

  837. King Jesus.

  838. We

  839. certainly

  840. don't

  841. pay any

  842. consequences

  843. of his

  844. wrongdoing.

  845. There is

  846. no wrongdoing.

  847. But he,

  848. the king,

  849. took all

  850. our sin,

  851. all our

  852. flaws,

  853. all our

  854. shortcomings,

  855. all our

  856. wickedness,

  857. he took

  858. all that

  859. upon himself

  860. and took

  861. the consequences

  862. of our

  863. sin

  864. on himself.

  865. Now,

  866. here

  867. is the

  868. perfect king.

  869. so,

  870. where

  871. are you

  872. on this

  873. chapter?

  874. I would

  875. like for us

  876. to think

  877. about that

  878. this week.

  879. Are you

  880. on,

  881. like David,

  882. something

  883. is conceived

  884. in your

  885. heart

  886. and that

  887. it's against

  888. God's

  889. will?

  890. And are you

  891. struggling with

  892. it?

  893. Or did

  894. somebody like

  895. Joab

  896. approach you

  897. and pointed

  898. that out to

  899. you already

  900. saying,

  901. please don't

  902. do this?

  903. Or are you

  904. at a stage

  905. where

  906. you're

  907. struggling

  908. with this

  909. sin

  910. and not

  911. knowing

  912. what to

  913. do?

  914. No matter

  915. where you

  916. are,

  917. be like

  918. King David.

  919. Seek

  920. God's

  921. mercy.

  922. And where

  923. can we

  924. find God's

  925. mercy?

  926. Bring it

  927. to Jesus.

  928. Bring it

  929. to the

  930. feet

  931. of Jesus

  932. at the

  933. cross.

  934. Because

  935. he

  936. die for

  937. us.

  938. He took

  939. all our

  940. sin,

  941. all our

  942. shortcomings.

  943. Romans

  944. said,

  945. we all

  946. fall short

  947. of glory.

  948. And that

  949. gap between

  950. us and

  951. God

  952. was filled

  953. by Jesus.

  954. He's the

  955. perfect

  956. mediator.

  957. So no

  958. matter where

  959. we are,

  960. no matter

  961. where you

  962. are,

  963. whatever

  964. you're

  965. struggling

  966. with,

  967. bring it

  968. to Jesus.

  969. And if

  970. you look

  971. at this

  972. chapter,

  973. it starts

  974. out,

  975. King David

  976. committing

  977. this sin.

  978. And then

  979. there comes

  980. God's

  981. mercy.

  982. And then

  983. at the

  984. end,

  985. where King

  986. David builds

  987. the altar,

  988. where he,

  989. God,

  990. receives his

  991. burnt offering

  992. and peace

  993. offering as

  994. a sign of

  995. reconciliation.

  996. That's

  997. where Solomon

  998. builds God's

  999. temple.

  1000. Now,

  1001. isn't that

  1002. sort of

  1003. like us,

  1004. our pattern?

  1005. You know,

  1006. we bring

  1007. our sin.

  1008. We struggle

  1009. with our sin.

  1010. We bring

  1011. this.

  1012. Jesus.

  1013. But then

  1014. God,

  1015. through his

  1016. mercy,

  1017. through Jesus'

  1018. blood,

  1019. he will

  1020. transform that

  1021. into something

  1022. beautiful.

  1023. Gives us

  1024. eternal life,

  1025. salvation,

  1026. promise for

  1027. the future.

  1028. But we

  1029. need to

  1030. come to

  1031. the feet

  1032. of Jesus

  1033. at the

  1034. cross.

  1035. So,

  1036. this morning

  1037. we

  1038. celebrated

  1039. Palm Sunday,

  1040. our Lord

  1041. entered

  1042. Jerusalem

  1043. riding a

  1044. donkey.

  1045. And

  1046. Jesus

  1047. is a

  1048. humble

  1049. king.

  1050. And I

  1051. would just

  1052. like to

  1053. read from

  1054. 2nd

  1055. Philippians

  1056. verses

  1057. 5 to

  1058. 11.

  1059. Have this

  1060. mind among

  1061. yourselves,

  1062. which is

  1063. yours in

  1064. Christ Jesus,

  1065. who,

  1066. though he

  1067. was in

  1068. the form

  1069. of God,

  1070. did not

  1071. count equality

  1072. with God

  1073. a thing

  1074. to be

  1075. grasped,

  1076. but emptied

  1077. himself by

  1078. taking the

  1079. form of a

  1080. servant,

  1081. being born in

  1082. the likeness of

  1083. men,

  1084. and being

  1085. found in

  1086. human form,

  1087. he humbled

  1088. himself by

  1089. becoming

  1090. obedient to

  1091. the point

  1092. of death.

  1093. Even death

  1094. on a cross,

  1095. therefore God

  1096. has highly

  1097. exalted

  1098. him and

  1099. bestowed on

  1100. him the

  1101. name that

  1102. is above

  1103. every name,

  1104. so that at

  1105. the name of

  1106. Jesus,

  1107. every knee

  1108. should bow,

  1109. in heaven

  1110. and on

  1111. earth and

  1112. under the

  1113. earth,

  1114. and every

  1115. tongue

  1116. confess,

  1117. that Jesus

  1118. Christ is

  1119. Lord,

  1120. to the

  1121. glory of

  1122. God,

  1123. the

  1124. Father.

  1125. So my

  1126. brothers and

  1127. sisters in

  1128. Christ,

  1129. are you

  1130. longing for

  1131. something like

  1132. the Israelites

  1133. hoped that

  1134. King David

  1135. would be the

  1136. king,

  1137. kind of like a

  1138. perfect king?

  1139. are we

  1140. putting our

  1141. hopes in

  1142. something like

  1143. that?

  1144. Or are you

  1145. ready to put

  1146. your hopes in

  1147. Jesus, who

  1148. is truly the

  1149. perfect king,

  1150. who is a

  1151. humble king,

  1152. who died for

  1153. us?

  1154. Jesus, and

  1155. but it

  1156. didn't just

  1157. end there.

  1158. Next

  1159. Sunday, we

  1160. will celebrate

  1161. the risen

  1162. Lord,

  1163. resurrection

  1164. of Christ.

  1165. and when you believe

  1166. in Jesus

  1167. we will rise

  1168. just like he did

1169. and that's what he promised us

  1170. so this

  1171. Palm Sunday

1172. think about our perfect king

1173. think about what he did

  1174. for all of us

  1175. and how he promised

1176. that he will come back

  1177. with his saints

  1178. in glory

  1179. to take us home

1180. that we'll be with him eternally

1181. where there will be no

  1182. condemnation

  1183. no more tears

  1184. no more sickness

  1185. and this is

  1186. the message

  1187. of the

  1188. the perfect king

  1189. let us pray

  1190. Lord our God

  1191. we thank you Lord

1192. thank you for sending your son

  1193. Jesus

  1194. to take away

1195. the sin of the world

  1196. to take away all

  1197. our sin

  1198. and give us salvation

  1199. and eternal life Lord

  1200. Father as we

  1201. think about

  1202. our Lord Jesus

  1203. this week

  1204. Lord please

  1205. help us to

  1206. commit our lives

  1207. to you Lord

  1208. Lord

  1209. thank you

  1210. and Lord

  1211. we pray all this

  1212. in Jesus name

  1213. Amen
