  1. Well, good morning, church.

  2. Our sermon text today is Nehemiah chapter 6.

    Nehemiah 6 chapter mention

  3. That's page 373 in the Pew Bible.

  4. Go ahead and turn there with me.

  5. We'll be looking at that passage together today.

  6. Nehemiah chapter 6, page 373.

    Nehemiah 6 chapter mention

  7. Let me just mention before we get started that there's water in the back, or at least

  8. there was water in the back.

  9. If you need a drink, there's a water fountain out in the foyer.

  10. Downstairs also is an overflow space.

  11. The secret is it's a little cooler down there.

  12. So if it's just getting a little hot, feel free to go downstairs.

  13. You can still follow along with the video and the audio downstairs.

  14. It's a little cooler.

  15. Well, let me pray for us as we come to God's word, and then I'll read the text for us.

  16. Let's pray.

  17. Oh, Father, we've just sung that you would be our vision.

  18. You would be the heart of our hearts.

  19. You would be the target towards which we aim.

  20. You would be the goal, the end of all that we do.

  21. God, thank you that you give yourself to us, that you reveal yourself to us, that you allow

  22. yourself to be known and to be loved.

  23. And so you draw us up out of our sin and our selfishness and our concern with mere passing

  24. things to find our hope and our delight and our home in you, the eternal God.

  25. Lord, would you please bless the reading and the preaching of your word this morning so

  26. that you would be our vision above all.

  27. We ask this in Jesus' name.

  28. Amen.

  29. So, Nehemiah chapter 6.

    Nehemiah 6 chapter mention

  30. Now, when Sanballat and Tobiah and Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies heard that

  31. I had built the wall and that there was no breach left in it, although up to that time

  32. I had not set up the doors and the gates, Sanballat and Geshem sent to me saying, come, let us

  33. meet together at Hakafarim in the plain of Ono.

  34. But they intended to do me harm.

  35. And I sent messengers to them saying, I'm doing a great work and I cannot come down.

  36. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?

  37. And they sent to me four times in this way and I answered them in the same manner.

  38. In the same way, Sanballat for the fifth time sent his servant to me with an open letter

  39. in his hand and it was written, it is reported among the nations.

  40. And Geshem also says it, that you and the Jews intend to rebel.

  41. That is why you are building the wall.

  42. And according to these reports, you wish to become their king.

  43. And you have also set up prophets to proclaim concerning you in Jerusalem, there is a king

  44. in Judah.

  45. And now the king will hear of these reports.

  46. So now come and let us take counsel together.

  47. Then I sent to him saying, no such things as you say have been done, for you are inventing

  48. them out of your own mind.

  49. For they all wanted to frighten us thinking their hands will drop from the work and it will

  50. not be done.

  51. But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

  52. Now, when I went into the house of Shemaiah, the son of Deliah, son of Mehetabel, who was

  53. confined to his home, he said, let us meet together in the house of God within the temple.

  54. Let us close the doors of the temple, for they're coming to kill you.

  55. They're coming to kill you by night.

  56. But I said, should such a man as I run away?

  57. And what man such as I could go into the temple and live?

  58. I will not go in.

  59. And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, but he had pronounced the prophecy against

  60. me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

  61. For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so

  62. they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me.

  63. Remember Sanballat and Tobiah, O my God, according to these things that they did, and also the

  64. prophetess Noah-Diah and the rest of the prophets who wanted to make me afraid.

  65. So the wall was finished on the 25th day of the month of Elul in 52 days.

  66. And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and felt greatly

  67. in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help

  68. of our God.

  69. Moreover, in those days, the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah, and Tobiah's

  70. letters came to them.

  71. For many in Judah were bound by oath to him, because he was the son-in-law of Shekaniah,

  72. the son of Ere, and his son Jehohanan had taken the daughter of Meshulam, the son of Barakai,

  73. as his wife.

  74. Also, they spoke of his good deeds in my presence and reported my words to him, and Tobiah sent

  75. letters to make me afraid.

  76. Well, sometimes the opposition just won't quit.

  77. Remember, the year is 445 BC.

  78. Nehemiah has arrived in Jerusalem from Susa, the capital of the Persian Empire, to rebuild

  79. the city walls of Jerusalem and to restore the honor of the city and of the people.

  80. And as chapter 6 opens, you see there that the work is actually almost done.

  81. You see that in verse 1.

  82. Everything is finished except for the setting up of the doors and the gates.

  83. But just as Nehemiah is about to cross the finish line, the enemies of the project just

  84. won't quit.

  85. You remember back in chapter 4 that they came against the people as a whole with taunts and

  86. threats.

  87. But here, it gets personal.

  88. Now, they're after Nehemiah himself.

  89. And it gets deceptive.

  90. The conspiracies start coming from every angle, don't they?

  91. It's political in verses 1 through 9.

  92. It's religious in verses 10 through 14.

  93. It's social in verses 17 through 19.

  94. And in each scheme against Nehemiah, the overarching aim is to make him afraid.

  95. In verse 9, they want to frighten me.

  96. Verses 10 and 14, that I should be afraid.

  97. Verse 19, Tobiah sent letters to make me afraid.

  98. Because if they could frighten Nehemiah, then he would stop the work on the wall and maybe

  99. even do something sinful or shameful out of fear, which would then give his enemies ammunition

  100. to ridicule him and taunt him and ruin his reputation in the eyes of the people.

  101. Fear, you see, is one of our spiritual enemy's greatest weapons.

  102. In Nehemiah's day and in our own, the world would love to make us afraid and get us to

  103. give up our allegiance to Christ and go against his word.

  104. Take a look at verses 10 through 14.

  105. There, it was physical fears, right?

  106. They're coming to kill you, Nehemiah.

  107. Now, many Christians around the world today do face physical intimidation.

  108. In verses 1 through 9, it's professional fears.

  109. You better come meet with us, Nehemiah, or we're going to tell the king of Persia that

  110. you're planning a rebellion.

  111. Now, there's no faster way to lose your job as a governor in the Persian Empire, which is

  112. what Nehemiah was, than to be charged with treason.

  113. But we can face professional fears today, can't we?

  114. Will my allegiance to Christ put my work, my job, my profession in jeopardy?

  115. Will I be overlooked for that promotion?

  116. Will I lose out on that big client?

  117. Will I be

  118. Nehemiah's enemies, Tobiah, has apparently married into the noble upper classes of Judah.

  119. And so, from that position of sort of social leverage, he can pull all sorts of strings

  120. and call in all sorts of favors and make Nehemiah's life pretty miserable.

  121. I think social fears may be the most prevalent for us here in our setting.

  122. What will my neighbors, my friends, my family think of me if they know I've become a Christian?

  123. Will I always be on the outside, always ridiculed, always excluded, always lonely?

  124. How about you this morning, friend?

  125. What ongoing fears are you experiencing from the world where God has placed you?

  126. And Nehemiah, throughout this chapter, through the ongoing conspiracies and plots,

  127. amazingly, he doesn't give up and he doesn't give in.

  128. In fact, in the face of all that, he shows incredible wisdom, incredible courage, and

  129. incredible endurance.

  130. How about us?

  131. How can we have that same sort of wisdom and courage and endurance today?

  132. Well, I think there are two things that we see in this passage that can help us keep going

  133. in the face of fear.

  134. First, a God-centered perspective.

  135. And second, a God-centered prayer life.

  136. A God-centered perspective and a life of God-centered prayer.

  137. So let's take a look at what a God-centered perspective looks like.

  138. On the one hand, we need to maintain a God-centered perspective of our work.

  139. Look at the end of verse 3, when Samballot, the governor of neighboring Samaria, tries

  140. to draw Nehemiah away from Jerusalem under the pretense of a meeting.

  141. It seems that meetings were used in all sorts of ways in the ancient world, just as they

  142. are today.

  143. Come on, we're going to have another meeting.

  144. Oh, my, my.

  145. Nehemiah, what does he say?

  146. He says, I'm doing a great work and I cannot come down.

  147. Now, that's a very shrewd answer, isn't it?

  148. He doesn't just tell Samballot to get lost.

  149. No, he maintains his professional dignity and says, actually, I have more pressing work

  150. to do right now.

  151. But it's not just a shrewd answer, it's also a true answer.

  152. It is a great work that he's involved in.

  153. But maybe not in the world's eyes.

  154. After all, in the world's eyes, at this point in history, Nehemiah is just stacking rocks

  155. around an insignificant town in a province that's literally called Beyond the River.

  156. It doesn't sound more backwater than that, does it?

  157. Where do you live?

  158. Beyond the River.

  159. Have fun with that.

  160. But in God's perspective, it is a great work.

  161. It's advancing the kingdom of God.

  162. It's restoring the people of God.

  163. It's honoring the name of God.

  164. Now, you may not think that your everyday work, your calling, is much in the world's eyes.

  165. But friend, any lawful work done as unto God with a heart to honor Him is a great work.

  166. Maybe you're a stay-at-home parent.

  167. Maybe you're an investment banker.

  168. Maybe you're a construction manager.

  169. Maybe you're an admin assistant.

  170. Maybe you're a craftsman, a plumber, an electrician.

  171. Maybe you're an Uber driver.

  172. If you're a follower of Christ, if you are engaged in your work for the sake of Christ

  173. with an eye towards His glory, it is a great work.

  174. And this is especially true when it comes to our calling as a member of Christ's church.

  175. Yes, in the world's eyes, what we're doing here right now seems fairly insignificant.

  176. Singing a few songs.

  177. Reading a few passages from an old religious text.

  178. Saying a few encouraging words.

  179. And so, if things get a little uncomfortable out in the world, if some social pressure heats up,

  180. if some fears crop up at work or in your neighborhood or in your dorm room,

  181. you know, it can feel like no big deal to just stop coming to church for a while.

  182. But in God's perspective, the church is no mere social club.

  183. It's the very body of Christ on earth.

  184. It's the very dwelling place of His Holy Spirit.

  185. The church gathered around and proclaiming the message of the Bible in word and in prayer

  186. and in preaching and in sacrament.

  187. The church engaged in that, friends, is the very voice of God to the world.

  188. You are doing a great work.

  189. Don't let the world frighten you into thinking otherwise.

  190. But Nehemiah also has a God-centered perspective, not just of his work, but of himself.

  191. In verses 10 through 14, we see that a certain priest named Shemaiah

  192. has actually been hired by Sanballat and Tobiah to give a false prophecy to Nehemiah.

  193. And we actually see in verse 14 at the end of that paragraph that there were others doing the same thing.

  194. Apparently, there was a prophetess, Noah-diah, and some other prophets

  195. who were apparently taking bribes from Nehemiah's enemies

  196. and then lying to him to make him afraid and to do something shameful.

  197. Shemaiah tells Nehemiah to go hide in the temple with him,

  198. to go inside, to shut the doors because they're coming to kill you.

  199. But in verse 11, Nehemiah says,

  200. Should such a man as I run away?

  201. And what man such as I could go into the temple and live?

  202. I will not go in.

  203. Now, we see in Nehemiah's response that on the one hand,

  204. a God-centered perspective of our own selves gives us great boldness.

  205. Who am I to run away, Nehemiah says.

  206. Now, Nehemiah is the governor of Judah.

  207. The king of Persia himself gave him that job.

  208. Nehemiah has soldiers and servants at his disposal.

  209. But is that all that gives Nehemiah his boldness?

  210. No.

  211. You see, Nehemiah isn't just known and called by the king of Persia.

  212. He's known by the king of the universe, the creator, the Lord.

  213. That's where Nehemiah's boldness comes from.

  214. But on the other hand, this God-centered perspective of his own self

  215. brings not just boldness but also a deep humility.

  216. How can such a man as I go into the temple and live?

  217. You see, God's law permitted only the priests to enter into the temple itself.

  218. Everyone could worship in the courts,

  219. but only a certain particular group in Israel,

  220. the priestly class, could go into the temple.

  221. Nehemiah, you see, was humble before God.

  222. In other words, his rightful awe and fear of God

  223. was what helped him overcome the fear of human beings.

  224. But how can you and I have that same kind of boldness and humility?

  225. We are no Nehemiah, right?

  226. There have been about a hundred books written about the book of Nehemiah

  227. about godly leadership,

  228. and most of them you read and you think,

  229. oh man, that's a tough act to follow.

  230. But friends, consider what we know

  231. in light of the gospel,

  232. in the light of Christ.

  233. What is the message of the Bible

  234. that the creator of the universe,

  235. the Lord,

  236. the one before whom every knee will bow

  237. as we sung at the beginning of our service,

  238. sent his only son,

  239. his only son,

  240. to come die for you,

  241. to rescue you from sin,

  242. to make you his son,

  243. his daughter,

  244. to make you his heir?

  245. Is there any greater source

  246. of confidence and boldness than that?

  247. You have been chosen

  248. not by some mere earthly king,

  249. but by the king of kings.

  250. He's looked upon you

  251. and said,

  252. I'm choosing you

  253. and sending my son for you.

  254. And yet,

  255. what humility at the same time.

  256. Because your sins were so great

  257. and your failures so deep

  258. that the son of God had to die for you.

  259. You see,

  260. the necessity of the cross

  261. for our sins ought to give us

  262. a proper humility.

  263. But the willingness of God

  264. to take up the cross for you,

  265. it should fill us

  266. with an unshakable boldness.

  267. Brothers and sisters,

  268. do you know that kind of humble boldness,

  269. that sort of bold humility,

  270. that right,

  271. humble confidence before God

  272. that can make you withstand

  273. any fears from the world?

  274. It's there.

  275. It's for you

  276. in the cross of Christ.

  277. Stop trusting in yourself

  278. and put your trust in him.

  279. Find in him

  280. the forgiveness of your sins

  281. and the love

  282. of your heavenly father

  283. and the indwelling,

  284. powerful presence

  285. of the Holy Spirit.

  286. It's there for you

  287. to take hold of.

  288. It's not just for Nehemiah's,

  289. it's for all of us.

  290. So then a God-centered perspective

  291. of our work

  292. and of ourselves

  293. will help us to endure

  294. through the fears

  295. that the world throws at us.

  296. But if we stopped there,

  297. we'd be missing something critical.

  298. How does what we know

  299. in our heads,

  300. this God-centered perspective,

  301. get down into our hearts?

  302. How does the truth

  303. of our relationship with God

  304. become a lived experience

  305. that actually changes our lives?

  306. Become a lived reality

  307. that actually allows us

  308. to carry on,

  309. to be wise,

  310. to be courageous

  311. in the midst of a world

  312. that wants us to live in fear?

  313. And that brings us

  314. to the second main thing

  315. that we see in this passage.

  316. We need to maintain

  317. a God-centered perspective,

  318. but we also need to enjoy

  319. the ongoing intimacy

  320. of God-centered prayer.

  321. Woven throughout this passage

  322. are Nehemiah's prayers.

  323. In verse 9,

  324. Nehemiah prays for strength,

  325. and in verse 14,

  326. he prays for justice.

  327. Notice in that prayer

  328. for strength in verse 9

  329. how it just seamlessly flows

  330. in the narrative.

  331. This happens a lot

  332. in the book of Nehemiah.

  333. It's as if to say

  334. that prayer is something

  335. that's meant to be woven

  336. into every corner

  337. of our lives.

  338. I mean,

  339. think about the situation

  340. for Nehemiah here.

  341. Nehemiah is at the office,

  342. and he's just

  343. gotten word

  344. of an open letter.

  345. That's like an email

  346. that's been CC'd

  347. to the whole company.

  348. And this sort of

  349. open letter

  350. contains a not-so-very-veiled

  351. threat

  352. that if he doesn't

  353. come meet with

  354. Samballot,

  355. the sort of,

  356. you know,

  357. director of operations

  358. over a few

  359. companies over,

  360. if he doesn't come

  361. meet with Samballot,

  362. he's going to be accused

  363. of treason

  364. to the king of Persia.

  365. And as Nehemiah

  366. is dictating his response,

  367. a prayer goes up

  368. from his heart,

  369. Oh God,

  370. strengthen

  371. my hands.

  372. Friends,

  373. do you see

  374. the intimacy

  375. that God wants you

  376. to have with him

  377. at any moment

  378. to speak with him,

  379. and he will hear?

  380. Nehemiah knows

  381. that in himself

  382. he's weak,

  383. so he calls

  384. out to God

  385. for strength.

  386. Give us this day

  387. our daily bread.

  388. Lead us not

  389. into temptation,

  390. but deliver us

  391. from evil.

  392. Oh God,

  393. strengthen my hands.

  394. You know,

  395. we often think

  396. of prayer

  397. as a work

  398. that we have

  399. to perform,

  400. as a sort of

  401. religious duty

  402. that we have

  403. to engage in,

  404. but Nehemiah

  405. actually shows us

  406. that prayer

  407. is really

  408. the breath

  409. of the heart,

  410. giving simple

  411. expression

  412. to our needs

  413. before the God

  414. who made us

  415. and loves us

  416. and who promises

  417. to hear us

  418. and to fight

  419. for us.

  420. So if you are weary

  421. and if you are weak

  422. and if you are afraid,

  423. look to God.

  424. Pray for strength.

  425. He will hear

  426. and he will answer you.

  427. Nehemiah also

  428. prays in verse 14

  429. for justice.

  430. This God-centered

  431. life of prayer

  432. involves a prayer

  433. for justice.

  434. Now at first,

  435. this prayer in verse 14

  436. can sound a little

  437. vindictive,

  438. but actually,

  439. what Nehemiah

  440. is doing here

  441. in this prayer

  442. is actually

  443. acknowledging

  444. that God

  445. is the only

  446. just judge.

  447. Rather than

  448. seeking vengeance

  449. against his enemies,

  450. Nehemiah

  451. lets God

  452. be God.

  453. Matthew Henry

  454. writes on this verse,

  455. he says,

  456. whatever injuries

  457. are done to us,

  458. we must not

  459. avenge ourselves,

  460. but commit

  461. our cause

  462. to God

  463. who judges

  464. righteously.

  465. You know,

  466. rather than thinking

  467. that Nehemiah

  468. can fix his own problems

  469. and put his enemies

  470. in their place,

  471. he prays for God's

  472. justice whenever

  473. and however

  474. God chooses.

  475. You see,

  476. just like Nehemiah

  477. knows that he's weak

  478. and so he must

  479. pray for strength,

  480. so Nehemiah knows

  481. that he's also

  482. not righteous,

  483. he's not

  484. a perfect judge,

  485. so he turns

  486. his enemies

  487. over

  488. to God

  489. who is.

  490. Do you wonder

  491. how Nehemiah

  492. is able to put up

  493. with the ongoing

  494. stress and schemes

  495. of his opponents

  496. who just

  497. won't quit?

  498. How is he able

  499. under all that pressure

  500. to answer

  501. with such clarity

  502. and shrewdness?

  503. How is he able

  504. to deal

  505. with the nobles

  506. of Judah,

  507. for example,

  508. in verse 19,

  509. who come to him

  510. and just praise

  511. how wonderful

  512. Tobiah is,

  513. Tobiah,

  514. such a great guy

  515. and then turn around

  516. and betray

  517. Nehemiah's confidence

  518. right back

  519. to his enemy?

  520. How is it

  521. that Nehemiah

  522. doesn't just

  523. lose his cool?

  524. And how can you

  525. and I live

  526. in the midst

  527. of a world

  528. that does

  529. the exact same thing?

  530. People disappoint us,

  531. they betray us,

  532. they gossip about us,

  533. they intimidate us,

  534. they forget about us,

  535. they threaten us,

  536. and yet,

  537. in prayer,

  538. we can lay

  539. all of that

  540. out before a God

  541. who is perfect

  542. in judgment.

  543. We don't need

  544. to sort it all out.

  545. We don't need

  546. to be the judge.

  547. We don't need

  548. to be defensive

  549. or bitter

  550. or entitled.

  551. We can pray,

  552. God,

  553. let your kingdom come

  554. and let your will

  555. be done.

  556. Forgive me

  557. my trespasses

  558. as I forgive

  559. those who

  560. trespass against

  561. me.

  562. If you are

  563. under pressure,

  564. if you feel

  565. like you're

  566. under attack,

  567. pray for God's

  568. justice.

  569. Entrust it

  570. into his hands,

  571. he will hear

  572. your prayer,

  573. and then

  574. you'll have

  575. the clarity

  576. and the peace

  577. and the perspective

  578. to act in a way

  579. that honors him,

  580. that is shrewd,

  581. that is courageous,

  582. that is persevering.

  583. So when the world

  584. wants to make us

  585. afraid,

  586. afraid to keep

  587. going,

  588. afraid to hold

  589. fast to our

  590. allegiance to Christ

  591. and his kingdom,

  592. Nehemiah 6 reminds us

  593. to fill our minds

  594. with a God-centered

  595. perspective

  596. and to express

  597. our hearts

  598. in ongoing,

  599. intimate,

  600. God-centered prayer.

  601. And then,

  602. what's the outcome?

  603. Well,

  604. in verse 15,

  605. the wall's finished.

  606. They actually do it,

  607. and they do it

  608. in 52 days.

  609. Friends,

  610. it's going to take

  611. longer than 52 days

  612. to build the thing

  613. we're planning to build

  614. over there.

  615. I guarantee you that,

  616. and this was a big

  617. project Nehemiah

  618. was engaged in.

  619. Talk about an answer

  620. to prayer,

  621. 52 days.

  622. And because

  623. Nehemiah,

  624. doesn't give in

  625. to the fear

  626. of the world,

  627. the world,

  628. ironically,

  629. in verse 16,

  630. begins to fear God.

  631. And again,

  632. we see the

  633. missional thrust

  634. of this book

  635. and of the entire

  636. Old Testament

  637. and of the entire

  638. Bible,

  639. that God is out

  640. to capture the hearts

  641. of all nations,

  642. and he's using

  643. his people to do it.

  644. Their very opponents

  645. became fears of God

  646. in just a little bit

  647. more of a true way

  648. because of this work.

  649. But surprisingly,

  650. that's not the end

  651. of the book of Nehemiah.

  652. You would think,

  653. right?

  654. They build the wall,

  655. boom,

  656. book over,

  657. bring on the New Testament,

  658. right?

  659. No.

  660. Moreover,

  661. in those days,

  662. all this other stuff

  663. started happening.

  664. The city wall

  665. is finished,

  666. but the opposition

  667. keeps coming

  668. in verses 17 through 19,

  669. and there's still

  670. more work to be done.

  671. In chapter 7,

  672. Nehemiah then begins

  673. the work of protecting

  674. the city

  675. in verses 1 through 4,

  676. and then repopulating

  677. the city beginning

  678. in verse 5.

  679. There's more to be done,

  680. and there's more

  681. opposition to withstand.

  682. So the story of Nehemiah

  683. is not done.

  684. It pushes ahead.

  685. And you know,

  686. even by the end

  687. of this book,

  688. it's not over.

  689. The temple's finished,

  690. the city's rebuilt,

  691. the people are gathered,

  692. but the king,

  693. the long-awaited king,

  694. is still not here.

  695. You know,

  696. Nehemiah's enemies

  697. accuse him

  698. of making himself

  699. a king,

  700. and that's all lies,

  701. of course,

  702. but the truth is,

  703. Nehemiah and the rest

  704. of the returned exiles

  705. know that there is

  706. a real king

  707. still on the way.

  708. And you know, friends,

  709. our story isn't done either.

  710. Even when we stand strong,

  711. even when we complete

  712. great works

  713. for God's kingdom,

  714. the opposition's

  715. going to keep coming,

  716. and there's still

  717. going to be work to do,

  718. but we know

  719. that the king,

  720. the king that Nehemiah

  721. was waiting for,

  722. the king that Isaiah

  723. spoke about,

  724. and Zechariah

  725. and Haggai,

  726. the king that they

  727. were all talking about,

  728. the king has come,

  729. and we know that this king

  730. is going to come again.

  731. The world may try

  732. to make us afraid,

  733. but with our eyes

  734. fixed on our once

  735. and coming King Jesus,

  736. the church will endure.

  737. Friends, you will endure.

  738. The church's one foundation

  739. is Jesus Christ, her Lord.

  740. She is a new creation

  741. by water and the word.

  742. From heaven,

  743. he came and sought her

  744. to be his holy bride.

  745. With his own blood,

  746. he bought her,

  747. and for her life,

  748. he died.

  749. Mid toil and tribulation

  750. and tumult of her war,

  751. she waits the consummation

  752. of peace forevermore,

  753. till with the vision glorious

  754. our longing eyes are blessed,

  755. and the great church victorious

  756. shall be the church at rest.

  757. Let's pray.

  758. Father, in this moment,

  759. we take just a moment

  760. to be still before you

  761. and to open up our hearts

  762. before you

  763. in this quiet

  764. to let our souls come out

  765. as it were

  766. and to lay our fears

  767. before you.

  768. Oh, Lord Jesus,

  769. you are great.

  770. Lord, you have loved us.

  771. You have died for us.

  772. You have risen again.

  773. I pray for all of us

  774. gathered here

  775. that we

  776. would stand firm

  777. and have all the wisdom

  778. and courage we need

  779. going out this week

  780. into your world

  781. as ambassadors

  782. of your kingdom,

  783. knowing that you've given us

  784. a great work.

  785. Even so,

  786. come, Lord Jesus.

  787. Amen.

  788. Amen.

  789. Amen.

  790. Would you stand and sing with us?

  791. Amen.

  792. Amen.

  793. Amen.

  794. Amen.

  795. Amen.

  796. Amen.

  797. Amen.

  798. Amen.

  799. Amen.

  800. Amen.

  801. Amen.

  802. People are having you

  803. along with us giving us

  804. all these here

  805. shown us.

  806. Amen.

  807. Amen.

  808. Amen.

  809. Amen.

  810. Amen.

  811. Amen.

  812. Amen.

  813. Amen.

  814. Amen.

  815. Amen.

  816. Amen.

  817. Amen.
