  1. Let's pray while we're standing.

  2. Gracious God, we ask as we open up your word now,

  3. you would pour out your spirit amongst us.

  4. We pray that we would understand your word

  5. and that you might give us through the power of your spirit

  6. the courage to obey it,

  7. to live our lives in accordance with it,

  8. that we might more and more reflect your glory.

  9. And we ask it for your sake.

  10. Amen.

  11. Please be seated.

  12. I want to begin this morning

  13. with the life of one of the greatest philosophical thinkers,

  14. one of the sharpest political minds,

  15. and one of the most quoted individuals of the past 100 years.

  16. Arnold Schwarzenegger

  17. was born the son of a low-ranking Austrian police officer

  18. and destined to be a nobody

  19. until his hands wrapped around a barbell for the very first time.

  20. By the age of 18, he was travelling the world,

  21. competing in bodybuilding championships.

  22. At one point, as he was living in England,

  23. his coach, Wag Bennett, asked him,

  24. Arnie, what do you want to do with your life?

  25. His response was astounding.

  26. 18 years of age.

  27. I want to be the greatest

  28. and the richest bodybuilder of all time.

  29. I want to live in the United States.

  30. I want to be an actor,

  31. a movie director,

  32. own an apartment block,

  33. and dabble in politics.

  34. He saw the future,

  35. he saw what he wanted,

  36. and he just went for it.

  37. Just went for it.

  38. Jesus told a similar story

  39. about a man who saw the future,

  40. saw what he needed to do,

  41. and he just went for it.

  42. It's that passage that was read out to us.

  43. If you'd like to grab your Bibles

  44. and open up to Luke 16,

  45. it's a passage in the Bible

  46. that on the surface

  47. seems to be a bit of a problem for us.

  48. Is Jesus actually saying

  49. that it's okay to steal from your employer?

  50. We know that can't be right.

  51. Surely he wouldn't be saying that.

  52. So let's have a look

  53. and see what Jesus is actually saying

  54. in Luke 16.

  55. Fundamentally,

  56. it has nothing to do with dodgy deals.

  57. It has everything to do

  58. in terms of acting now

  59. in view of the future.

  60. Acting now in view of the future.

  61. So verse 1,

  62. Jesus told his disciples

  63. there was a rich man

  64. whose manager was accused

  65. of wasting his possessions.

  66. So he called him in

  67. and asked him,

  68. what is this I hear about you?

  69. Give an account of your management

  70. because you cannot be manager any longer.

  71. The manager said to himself,

  72. well, what shall I do now?

  73. My master is taking away my job.

  74. I'm not strong enough to dig

  75. and I'm ashamed to beg.

  76. I know what I'll do.

  77. So that when I lose my job here,

  78. people will welcome me

  79. into their houses.

  80. You see,

  81. the issue in first century Palestine

  82. was that there was no unemployment benefits.

  83. You had a choice.

  84. You begged or you worked.

  85. Clearly,

  86. this manager wasn't going to get

  87. another manager's job

  88. after his poor handling

  89. of his previous position.

  90. And he says,

  91. I'm too ashamed to go right

  92. to the other end

  93. of the social scale and beg.

  94. And frankly,

  95. I haven't got the muscles

  96. to go and dig holes for a living.

  97. And so the issue for this

  98. manager was,

  99. if I'm not going to beg

  100. and I'm not going to work,

  101. how am I going to eat?

  102. That's the issue.

  103. The issue that this man

  104. was faced with

  105. was a life and death decision.

  106. And so in verse 4,

  107. he sees what's going to happen

  108. in the future

  109. and he acts accordingly.

  110. For that short period of time,

  111. for this manager,

  112. he still has his laptop

  113. on the desk,

  114. he still has

  115. the company checkbook,

  116. he still has

  117. his name

  118. on the plaque

  119. at the front of the office,

  120. and he can still act now

  121. in view

  122. of the future.

  123. And he grabs

  124. his opportunity.

  125. He went for it

  126. in verse 5,

  127. so he called in

  128. each one of his master's

  129. debtors.

  130. He asked the first,

  131. how much do you owe

  132. my master?

  133. 800 gallons

  134. of olive oil,

  135. he replied.

  136. The manager told him,

  137. take your bill,

  138. sit down quickly

  139. and make it 400.

  140. Then he asked the second,

  141. and how much do you owe?

  142. 1,000 bushels of wheat.

  143. He replied.

  144. He told him,

  145. take your bill

  146. and make it 800.

  147. And in the process

  148. of acting for the future,

  149. he won the favour

  150. and obligation

  151. of his master's

  152. debtors.

  153. He calls in people

  154. who owes his boss

  155. money,

  156. and he substantially

  157. cuts the debt,

  158. potentially just taking

  159. off the top

  160. his own commission.

  161. He substantially

  162. cuts the bills.

  163. and the people

  164. are naturally

  165. pleased.

  166. The really strange

  167. thing is those,

  168. the master's response,

  169. the master says to him,

  170. in effect,

  171. well done.

  172. Well done.

  173. Verse 8,

  174. the master commended

  175. the dishonest manager

  176. because he had acted

  177. shrewdly.

  178. It's incredible,

  179. isn't it?

  180. I mean,

  181. he's just ripped him off.

  182. And he says,

  183. well done.

  184. That was really clever

  185. what you just did.

  186. He didn't commend you

  187. for being dishonest.

  188. He commended him

  189. for shrewdness.

  190. So this parable

  191. is not about

  192. being dishonest.

  193. It's about being

  194. shrewd

  195. and especially

  196. shrewd

  197. in regard

  198. to the future.

  199. He acted

  200. because he knew

  201. what the future held.

  202. But it's a really

  203. logical choice,

  204. isn't it?

  205. If you're going to die,

  206. you want to make sure

  207. you do things

  208. so you don't die.

  209. It's fairly logical.

  210. But as we read

  211. in the second half

  212. of verse 8,

  213. this logical

  214. and shrewd action

  215. is not a logical

  216. and shrewd action

  217. that the people

  218. of God

  219. often make.

  220. Verse 8,

  221. for the people

  222. of this world

  223. are more shrewd

  224. in dealing

  225. with their own kind

  226. than are the people

  227. of the light.

  228. What he's saying

  229. there is

  230. that the non-Christian

  231. knows what they

  232. want to do

  233. and they live

  234. by their philosophy.

  235. They live

  236. day by day

  237. as if God

  238. doesn't exist.

  239. But the Christian,

  240. well,

  241. they muck around

  242. with their relationship

  243. with God

  244. all the time.

  245. But the non-Christian,

  246. they live by it.

  247. Take, for instance,

  248. Philip Adams.

  249. He's a journalist,

  250. a writer,

  251. and an outspoken

  252. atheist.

  253. Philip Adams

  254. believes that

  255. when he dies,

  256. he faces oblivion,

  257. that is,

  258. he faces nothingness,

  259. and he said this,

  260. when I die,

  261. that is my lot.

  262. I don't have

  263. any form of afterlife,

  264. any form of survival

  265. of the ego.

  266. To me,

  267. the end of life

  268. which is rushing

  269. towards me

  270. with increasing

  271. velocity

  272. is very real.

  273. I once worked out

  274. that the average person

  275. was born

  276. with approximately

  277. 600,000 hours

  278. to live.

  279. You spend

  280. approximately

  281. one-third

  282. of those asleep,

  283. another 20,000

  284. to 50,000

  285. hours sitting

  286. on the toilet,

  287. and when you

  288. eliminate

  289. all the wasted

  290. hours,

  291. there are not

  292. many left

  293. which are going

  294. to be of any

  295. use.

  296. So if I have

  297. 50,000 to 60,000

  298. good hours

  299. left in me,

  300. then that's all

  301. that I can expect.

  302. Therefore,

  303. I don't waste

  304. time on trivia

  305. or irrelevancies

  306. anymore.

  307. I want to get

  308. it right.

  309. That is an

  310. atheist

  311. speaking

  312. who has

  313. no hope

  314. for the future.

  315. How much

  316. more the

  317. Christian

  318. with a certain

  319. hope of eternity

  320. in the presence

  321. of God

  322. be wanting

  323. to get

  324. it

  325. right.

  326. But Jesus

  327. says that we're

  328. not shrewd

  329. enough in acting

  330. now in view

  331. of what is

  332. around the

  333. corner,

  334. and so this

  335. parable is a

  336. parable that

  337. is meant to

  338. focus our

  339. attention to

  340. live each

  341. day with

  342. the end

  343. in mind.

  344. In World

  345. War II,

  346. Germany

  347. occupied

  348. France,

  349. but all

  350. through 1942

  351. and 1943,

  352. the Allies

  353. planned a

  354. massive

  355. counterattack.

  356. General

  357. Dwight Eisenhower

  358. was selected

  359. to command

  360. the assault,

  361. and so

  362. during the

  363. night of

  364. Jude the

  365. 6th,

  366. about 2,700

  367. ships carrying

  368. loading craft

  369. and 176,000

  370. soldiers crossed

  371. the English

  372. Channel.

  373. At dawn,

  374. battleships

  375. opened up

  376. on the

  377. beaches.

  378. They stormed

  379. ashore in

  380. the largest

  381. seaborne

  382. invasion in

  383. history.

  384. By the end

  385. of D-Day,

  386. all five

  387. Allied landing

  388. beaches were

  389. secure.

  390. Over the

  391. next few

  392. months,

  393. more than

  394. one million

  395. Allied troops

  396. poured into

  397. France,

  398. and they

  399. cleared the

  400. Germans out of

  401. most of

  402. northwestern

  403. France.

  404. The German

  405. generals knew

  406. that they were

  407. defeated.

  408. They didn't

  409. have enough

  410. troops or

  411. enough fuel

  412. to turn

  413. back the

  414. tide,

  415. but Hitler

  416. refused to

  417. admit defeat.

  418. By April

  419. 1945,

  420. Soviet troops

  421. had surrounded

  422. Berlin,

  423. and from

  424. his underground

  425. bunker,

  426. Hitler ordered

  427. German soldiers

  428. to fight

  429. on.

  430. But on

  431. April 30,

  432. Hitler himself

  433. committed

  434. suicide.

  435. Seven days

  436. later,

  437. the 7th of

  438. May 1945,

  439. the new

  440. Chief of

  441. Staff of

  442. the German

  443. Armed Forces

  444. signed a

  445. statement of

  446. unconditional

  447. surrender to

  448. Eisenhower.

  449. World War

  450. II in

  451. Europe had

  452. ended.

  453. The Allies

  454. declared the

  455. 8th of May

  456. 1945 as

  457. VE Day,

  458. Victory in

  459. Europe Day.

  460. The decisive

  461. day was the

  462. 6th of June

  463. 1944,

  464. D-Day.

  465. The final

  466. Victory Day,

  467. VE Day,

  468. was the

  469. 8th of May

  470. 1945.

  471. Friends,

  472. the death

  473. and resurrection

  474. of Jesus

  475. 2,000 years

  476. ago was

  477. our D-Day.

  478. It was the

  479. decisive day.

  480. That was the

  481. day when Jesus

  482. dealt with our

  483. independence and

  484. now we live

  485. remembering D-Day.

  486. We live in the

  487. light of D-Day and

  488. we are waiting for

  489. the final reckoning,

  490. waiting for our

  491. independence and

  492. all the independence

  493. of this world to

  494. finally be overrun.

  495. We are living

  496. through the last

  497. days of cosmic

  498. war and the

  499. outcome is

  500. certain.

  501. The outcome

  502. is certain.

  503. D-Day has

  504. happened.

  505. The cross of

  506. Christ is

  507. heralded the

  508. final victory.

  509. The decisive

  510. victory has

  511. been won.

  512. D-Day has

  513. happened in the

  514. death and

  515. resurrection of

  516. Jesus and we

  517. wait for VE

  518. Day to come.

  519. Every person

  520. will stand

  521. before his

  522. throne and give

  523. an account on

  524. that day.

  525. How should we

  526. live therefore?

  527. We live each

  528. moment as if

  529. VE Day was

  530. today.

  531. We live each

  532. moment as if

  533. VE Day was

  534. today.

  535. That's what it

  536. means to be

  537. shrewd.

  538. That's what it

  539. means to be

  540. shrewd.

  541. But the

  542. warning of

  543. this parable

  544. is that too

  545. many Christians

  546. are not

  547. shrewd enough.

  548. You can't

  549. tell the

  550. Christians from

  551. the non-Christians

  552. in their

  553. priorities by

  554. the way they

  555. use their

  556. time and

  557. their money

  558. and their

  559. relationships.

  560. In verse

  561. 9, Jesus

  562. tells us one

  563. way that we

  564. can live as

  565. if VE Day

  566. were right

  567. here, right

  568. now.

  569. I tell you,

  570. use your

  571. worldly wealth

  572. to gain

  573. friends for

  574. yourselves.

  575. So that when

  576. it is gone,

  577. you'll be

  578. welcomed into

  579. eternal dwellings.

  580. Jesus isn't

  581. saying you can

  582. buy your way

  583. into heaven.

  584. We know that

  585. for sure from

  586. other places,

  587. that it's only

  588. through him,

  589. through his

  590. death and

  591. resurrection.

  592. What he is

  593. saying is use

  594. your possessions

  595. now in view

  596. of the future,

  597. in view of

  598. eternity.

  599. Use everything

  600. you have now to

  601. please God and

  602. not yourself.

  603. What he is

  604. saying here is

  605. what he has

  606. said consistently

  607. through the

  608. gospels is

  609. build up

  610. treasure in

  611. heaven.

  612. Build up

  613. treasure in

  614. heaven.

  615. So let me

  616. give you a

  617. scenario.

  618. The sort of

  619. thing I think

  620. Jesus is talking

  621. about here,

  622. opening scene.

  623. You have

  624. $200 that

  625. you've saved

  626. up and

  627. there is an

  628. MP3 player,

  629. forgive me if

  630. you're from a

  631. different generation

  632. on this one.

  633. There's an

  634. MP3 player that

  635. you've had your

  636. eye on for a

  637. little while,

  638. but you hear

  639. someone struggling

  640. to put themselves

  641. through Bible

  642. college,

  643. you've got your

  644. $200,

  645. it's a hard

  646. call,

  647. you know it,

  648. but you give

  649. it to them to

  650. help them get

  651. through Bible

  652. college.

  653. Next scene,

  654. you're dead.

  655. Sorry about

  656. fast forwarding

  657. your life

  658. there.

  659. You're dead,

  660. you're in

  661. heaven,

  662. and this guy

  663. comes up to

  664. you and says,

  665. while I was

  666. on earth,

  667. I used to

  668. live in

  669. Chile,

  670. and you know,

  671. one day an

  672. extraordinary

  673. thing happened.

  674. This guy came

  675. up to me in

  676. the street and

  677. told me about

  678. Jesus,

  679. thank you,

  680. thank you for

  681. that,

  682. and you think

  683. this guy's gone

  684. mad.

  685. You've got no

  686. idea what he's

  687. talking about,

  688. what he's

  689. saying is that

  690. that $200 that

  691. you gave and

  692. many others like

  693. you allowed that

  694. student to get

  695. through Bible

  696. college.

  697. That person

  698. worked in a

  699. church,

  700. discipled young

  701. Christians,

  702. one or two of

  703. those people went

  704. into Bible

  705. college themselves,

  706. and years,

  707. generations later,

  708. one of their

  709. kids went as a

  710. missionary to

  711. Brazil and

  712. evangelized some

  713. people in

  714. Brazil,

  715. and the guy

  716. who came up to

  717. you in heaven

  718. is a grandchild

  719. of one of the

  720. people who

  721. brought Jesus

  722. to Brazil,

  723. but who ended

  724. up working and

  725. living and

  726. ministering in

  727. Chile instead.

  728. If you can

  729. follow that,

  730. you're better

  731. than me.

  732. But the point

  733. is your $200

  734. has an enormous

  735. impact not just

  736. for now and

  737. this generation,

  738. but for

  739. generations to

  740. come because

  741. you are building

  742. treasure in

  743. heaven.

  744. When you give

  745. to gospel

  746. ministry, you

  747. are making

  748. an investment

  749. for generations.

  750. You are not

  751. balancing the

  752. budget of

  753. St. Paul's.

  754. It's an

  755. investment for

  756. generations to

  757. come, building

  758. treasure in

  759. heaven for all

  760. of eternity,

  761. and it may

  762. not seem like

  763. you get an

  764. immediate return

  765. because you

  766. can't stick ear

  767. plugs in your

  768. ears and get

  769. your mind blown

  770. out by music,

  771. but the value

  772. is priceless.

  773. For all of

  774. eternity, you

  775. will never

  776. regret what

  777. you did

  778. with that

  779. $200.

  780. Never

  781. regret it.

  782. And that

  783. is, if that

  784. is the

  785. Christian

  786. perspective on

  787. life, if

  788. D-Day is

  789. happening, V-E-Day

  790. is about to

  791. come, and we

  792. are to live in

  793. the light of

  794. V-E-Day, and

  795. all of our

  796. giving is an

  797. internal

  798. investment,

  799. then why are

  800. churches nearly

  801. always under

  802. resourced?

  803. Why is it

  804. the missionaries

  805. have to return

  806. home through

  807. lack of funds?

  808. Why do

  809. Christian

  810. organisations have

  811. to waste so

  812. much time and

  813. energy on

  814. fundraisers and

  815. fairs and

  816. Lamington

  817. drives to

  818. try and

  819. raise money?

  820. Why?

  821. Because we've

  822. forgotten the

  823. gospel.

  824. Because we've

  825. forgotten the

  826. gospel.

  827. we've

  828. forgotten that

  829. V-E-Day is

  830. just around the

  831. corner.

  832. We've forgotten

  833. Jesus' words

  834. builds up

  835. treasure in

  836. heaven, not

  837. on earth.

  838. Jesus' words

  839. use worldly

  840. wealth to

  841. gain friends

  842. with yourselves,

  843. eternal

  844. friends who

  845. will rejoice

  846. with you

  847. around that

  848. throne for

  849. time and

  850. eternity.

  851. Jesus sums

  852. up the idea

  853. in verse 13,

  854. no servant

  855. can serve two

  856. masters,

  857. either he

  858. will hate

  859. the one

  860. and love

  861. the other

  862. or he will

  863. be devoted

  864. to the one

  865. and despise

  866. the other.

  867. You cannot

  868. serve both

  869. God and

  870. money.

  871. Strong

  872. words,

  873. but very

  874. clear words.

  875. Jesus didn't

  876. say it wasn't

  877. a good idea

  878. to try and

  879. serve two

  880. masters.

  881. He actually

  882. says here that

  883. it is impossible

  884. to serve two

  885. masters.

  886. It is impossible

  887. to serve both

  888. God and

  889. money.

  890. your life is

  891. focused in one

  892. of two

  893. directions,

  894. God and

  895. serving him

  896. or serving

  897. yourself and

  898. what you want

  899. in life.

  900. You cannot

  901. do both,

  902. is what Jesus

  903. says in this

  904. passage.

  905. So friends,

  906. we stand at

  907. the edge of

  908. something big

  909. for us as a

  910. church and I

  911. want to ask

  912. you, what are

  913. you going to

  914. do?

  915. What are you

  916. going to do?

  917. You and I

  918. are in exactly

  919. the same boat

  920. as this shrewd

  921. manager.

  922. The books are

  923. still open.

  924. We still have a

  925. chance to act

  926. now in view

  927. of eternity.

  928. A chance to

  929. make sure that

  930. we are not

  931. mastered by

  932. money, but to

  933. give it generously

  934. because of the

  935. impact of such

  936. an investment

  937. will be felt

  938. for ages,

  939. for all of

  940. eternity.

  941. It is the

  942. greatest legacy

  943. that you could

  944. leave your

  945. generation.

  946. It's the

  947. greatest legacy

  948. that we could

  949. leave the

  950. generations to

  951. follow us

  952. at St.

  953. Paul's and

  954. the greatest

  955. legacy we

  956. could leave

  957. our children's

  958. generations.

  959. Investment in

  960. people's lives

  961. with our

  962. time, our

  963. prayers, our

  964. energy, our

  965. encouragement, and

  966. from this

  967. passage, our

  968. money.

  969. In view of

  970. the fact that

  971. VE Day is

  972. just around the

  973. corner, I'm

  974. calling you to

  975. do what Jesus

  976. is calling us

  977. to do as his

  978. disciples, give

  979. it up.

  980. Give it up for

  981. the kingdom.

  982. Stake everything

  983. in this world on

  984. the world that is

  985. to come.

  986. So today we

  987. stand on the

  988. edge of 11

  989. year ministry

  990. plan.

  991. And the

  992. bottom line of

  993. this plan is

  994. a call for

  995. us to

  996. strongly,

  997. single-mindedly,

  998. doggedly be

  999. focused on the

  1000. kingdom of God

  1001. and the coming

  1002. VE Day when

  1003. Jesus will

  1004. return and he

  1005. will wind up

  1006. this whole show.

  1007. Today I'm

  1008. calling you to

  1009. act now in

  1010. view of

  1011. eternity.

  1012. I'm calling the

  1013. whole church to

  1014. make wise

  1015. investments.

  1016. God calls

  1017. us to

  1018. demand our

  1019. allegiance, he

  1020. demands our

  1021. time, our

  1022. energy, our

  1023. prayers, our

  1024. money, our

  1025. lives.

  1026. He helps us

  1027. see that for

  1028. all of us we

  1029. only all have a

  1030. few good hours

  1031. left.

  1032. We all only

  1033. have a few good

  1034. hours left.

  1035. people

  1036. who are

  1037. going to

  1038. go to the

  1039. church.

  1040. But because this

  1041. passage is specifically

  1042. about money

  1043. primarily, I want

1044. to call you to put

  1045. your money behind the

  1046. ministry of the

  1047. gospel in this

  1048. church and from

  1049. this church.

  1050. We need money to

  1051. build disciples and

  1052. to reach the

  1053. nations.

  1054. Christians, I

  1055. was very

  1056. comforted to

  1057. discover this

  1058. week that the

  1059. good news is that

  1060. God has given us

  1061. all the money we

  1062. need to realise the

  1063. plans that he has

  1064. for this church.

1065. The bad news is it's

  1066. in your pockets.

  1067. And so our giving

  1068. to gospel ministry

  1069. should never be

  1070. haphazard.

  1071. It needs to be

  1072. planned.

  1073. It needs to be

  1074. generous.

  1075. It needs to be

  1076. sacrificial.

1077. And I want to say

  1078. a step further, it

  1079. also needs to be

  1080. open.

  1081. Over the last few

  1082. months I've been

  1083. preaching from here

  1084. that money is

  1085. never a financial

  1086. issue.

  1087. It is a spiritual

  1088. issue for the

  1089. church.

  1090. John Dunn said the

  1091. same thing when he

  1092. preached a couple of

  1093. months ago.

  1094. It is a spiritual

  1095. issue for us.

  1096. And because it's a

  1097. spiritual issue, it

1098. is never to be off

  1099. limits for the senior

  1100. minister and the

  1101. leaders of this

  1102. church.

1103. It is never to be

  1104. off limits.

1105. And to that end, you

  1106. have all received an

  1107. envelope with

  1108. information, a card to

  1109. pledge your giving

  1110. for next year.

  1111. Between now and the

  1112. 29th of November, which

  1113. is our commitment

1114. Sunday, I want you to be

  1115. prayerful.

1116. I want you to be

  1117. considerate about your

  1118. pledge for next year

  1119. and your one-off

  1120. donation to the

  1121. internal and external

  1122. projects we have.

1123. In the week ahead or

  1124. weeks ahead, you're

  1125. going to hear more

  1126. from me about this,

  1127. where I'm going to

  1128. explain my thinking

  1129. behind it.

1130. What I'm calling us to

1131. do as a church is

  1132. something that is not

  1133. culturally acceptable,

  1134. even amongst churches,

  1135. religious, but I

  1136. believe it's strongly

  1137. biblical.

1138. In fact, there is more

  1139. biblical evidence for

  1140. your giving to be

  1141. public than there is

1142. for it to be private.

  1143. Your staff and parish

  1144. council will be setting

1145. the pace in a couple of

  1146. weeks' time when we

1147. meet and we pledge our

  1148. commitment for 2010.

  1149. We'll be calling the

  1150. church to follow our

1151. example just over a week

  1152. later.

1153. It's all new for us as

  1154. a church, but it's

  1155. also exciting.

  1156. It's an exciting time

1157. for us as the people

  1158. of God will stop

  1159. keeping secret what is

  1160. at the heart of

  1161. Christian discipleship.

  1162. I look forward to

1163. seeing what God will do

  1164. amongst us in the

  1165. coming weeks and months

  1166. and years.

1167. I want to remind you

  1168. that our giving to

  1169. gospel ministry in this

1170. place is not so that

  1171. we might balance the

  1172. budget.

  1173. It's to realise the

  1174. vision of the

  1175. nations coming under

  1176. the cosmic lordship of

  1177. Jesus and building

  1178. treasure in heaven.

1179. So we stand on the

1180. edge of a new day for

  1181. us as St.

  1182. Pauls and I'm

  1183. calling everyone here

  1184. gathered today to

  1185. give yourself

  1186. wholeheartedly to a

  1187. biblical vision,

  1188. to build up

  1189. treasure and to

  1190. act now in view

  1191. of the certain

  1192. VE day which

  1193. is just around the

  1194. corner.

  1195. Amen.
