  1. There are some people who are just intimidatingly great at whatever, and there's some people who are embarrassingly hopeless and just make you feel good about yourself.

  2. And more often than not, we stick ourselves somewhere in the middle.

  3. And maybe you even do it in a group like this.

  4. You walk into church on a Sunday, and there are some people that you are just like so overwhelmed by how holy they seem, how godly they are, how impressive their Bible looks.

  5. And you're just intimidated to even be around them, and you sit there and think, I'm in a different category.

  6. Or maybe it's the other extreme, and you walk into church, and you see someone else walking near you, and you think, how can they call themselves a Christian and do that?

  7. Peter is doing his version of holiness appraisals in the passage that Jimmy just read out for us.

  8. And he's not actually doing it intentionally.

  9. He's not maliciously trying to rank people so that he can judge them, but he's going through the process of putting some people in the category of good and some people in the category of bad.

  10. What he's doing is he's cutting himself off from Gentile converts who haven't adhered to Jewish laws that he just agreed aren't important.

  11. So what's happened is just before this passage that was read out, you've got Paul the Apostle goes and meets with Peter and James and the other apostles in Jerusalem,

  12. and they have a conversation to the effect of, for somebody who's not a Jew, that's not one of God's chosen people, to be a legitimate Christian, what's required of them?

  13. And they all agree that the only thing that matters is that they trust Jesus.

  14. And then here, just a couple of verses later, Peter is sitting in a room having food with Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians, both of which have put their faith in Jesus.

  15. And what he's doing is not completely ignoring the Gentile converts, but just kind of separating himself out enough so that he's not getting tainted by their badness.

  16. So it's like after church, going out to supper and just making sure you're only with the good people, only with the people who are kind of like you.

  17. And Paul is furious about this.

  18. He's absolutely fuming to the point where he doesn't kind of pull Peter aside and have a quiet conversation.

  19. He goes for the public, you know, you've got to fix this, the loud and obvious rebuke.

  20. And the reason he's so angry is because just a few moments ago, they agreed on what the gospel was.

  21. They agreed on what the good news of Jesus was.

  22. And that good news comes from the beginning of Galatians chapter 1.

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  23. I'll read to you just five verses.

  24. This is Paul's opening summary of the gospel.

  25. He says, Galatians 1 verse 1.

    Galatians 1:1

  26. So the gospel is Jesus died for sin.

  27. God raised him from the dead and grace and peace is on offer to those who trust him and follow him.

  28. That gospel, which Paul makes really clear is the only gospel.

  29. There's no other version.

  30. There's no substitute.

  31. That gospel doesn't leave room for the rankings.

  32. It doesn't leave room for someone like Peter to kind of show up and start pretending that one group is holier than another group.

  33. One group is more valid than another group because the gospel crushes pride in us.

  34. When we understand what the gospel means, it actually takes away the possibility of being proud of who we are as a Christian.

  35. See, the danger for us when we do these rankings is that we always see the sin of others as worse than our own.

  36. Whenever you hear about other people's sin, the response is shock and maybe a bit of gossip.

  37. It's sensational.

  38. But you don't notice it in yourself.

  39. Even Paul here, when he's challenging Peter, there in verse 15, he says,

  40. We who are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners.

  41. See, he's showing Peter that even by calling them Gentile sinners, it's like he's taking himself out of that category.

  42. It's like Peter's treating himself like he's not a sinner, like he doesn't need Jesus.

  43. And Paul is saying that's ridiculous.

  44. He's saying because Peter's busy looking at the inadequacy of the Gentiles.

  45. And let's be clear.

  46. The Gentiles are inadequate.

  47. They are not good enough.

  48. But the issue for Peter is because he's busy looking at them, he doesn't recognize that he's inadequate as well.

  49. That being a Jew actually makes no difference.

  50. It's not exciting for God.

  51. It's not exciting for God.

  52. And so we need to be careful that when we go into that automatic mode of ranking the good and bad people around us,

  53. whatever our motivation is, we need to be careful because as soon as we start looking down on the mistakes of other people,

  54. we lose the ability to see our own.

  55. We lose the ability to see our own issues.

  56. One of the things that frustrates me quite intensely in community life,

  57. and there's lots of things because I'm an introvert and community life is just challenging,

  58. but one of the things that I find particularly difficult about community life is selfish people.

  59. Like I hate seeing people who will just tread on everyone else to make sure they get what they want.

  60. It makes me just anger.

  61. But I don't even notice that in that moment I'm really annoyed because they're not doing what I think they should do.

  62. It doesn't for a second occur to me that my frustration is really about my own selfish desires

  63. and has nothing to do with the injustice being done to other people.

  64. When we're busy focusing on the sins of other people,

  65. we fail to see that we've got our own issues.

  66. We fail to see that the gospel is something that we desperately need as well.

  67. Now, that doesn't mean there's no place for rebuke or correction

  68. because, you know, selfishness is still an issue for that person that's making me angry,

  69. but the point is it's my issue as well.

  70. And if all I worry about is them, then I'm going to miss my issue.

  71. But it doesn't mean there can't be rebuke.

  72. That's what Paul is doing here.

  73. And he even gives us a good model of what it might look like to correct one another.

  74. So he reminds him in verse 16.

  75. I'll start from verse 15.

  76. Now, Paul's reminding him.

  77. He doesn't just say, Peter, you're being an idiot and you need to do this thing.

  78. He actually takes him back to the gospel.

  79. He reminds him that it was by faith for Peter, by faith for Paul.

  80. It's by faith for the Jews.

  81. It's by faith for the Gentiles.

  82. And so because of that, there's no distinction between them.

  83. There's no room for one to feel more worthy or less worthy

  84. because that kind of pride is just delusional.

  85. That kind of pride is based on a warped perception of what's reality anyway.

  86. Because if you ever find yourself looking at someone else and thinking,

  87. man, I'm doing much better than them,

  88. you've got to understand you're not doing that well anyway.

  89. Even if you are doing better than them,

  90. your reality is you still need Jesus to die for you

  91. if you're going to be acceptable to God.

  92. When I spent time in hospital last year with my broken legs,

  93. I spent the first three or four days just stuck in my room,

  94. needing to ring the buzzer if I wanted to go to the toilet,

  95. ring the buzzer if I had an itch down the bottom of my legs,

  96. ring the buzzer if I wanted a shower.

  97. Basically, absolutely dependent,

  98. absolutely contained, imprisoned in my hospital room.

  99. And it wasn't until about day three or four

  100. that they really generously got me a wheelchair,

  101. let me get into that wheelchair,

  102. and start wheeling down the halls.

  103. I was pretty excited about that freedom.

  104. And so as I'm kind of cruising down the hallways of the hospital,

  105. feeling pretty happy with myself,

  106. I'm just glancing into the doors of each hospital room

  107. and these poor suckers, you know,

  108. covered in plaster and in traction and stuck in positions

  109. and can't get out and roam the halls like I can.

  110. And so I was feeling pretty good about my situation.

  111. And on one level, doing better than everyone else.

  112. But I was still stuck in a wheelchair.

  113. I still couldn't get down a set of stairs.

  114. I still couldn't dance or shower or stand up for that matter.

  115. I still had some serious issues that I had to deal with.

  116. I was still going to spend the next seven weeks being

  117. an absolutely disgraceful excuse for a husband and father,

  118. or at least having a reason why I was going to be a disgraceful

  119. excuse for a husband and father.

  120. I still was in a bad situation.

  121. But because I was so busy looking at everyone else,

  122. it's like I tricked myself into thinking my situation

  123. was better than it actually was.

  124. And see, we do that when all we do is measure ourselves

  125. against other people.

  126. The gospel impacts our relationships.

  127. But first and foremost, the gospel is a transaction

  128. between us and God.

  129. The gospel is the answer to the question,

  130. how can I possibly be loved by a God who is holy

  131. when I'm clearly not?

  132. And if we're giving ourselves a premature tick of approval

  133. because we're not as bad as someone else,

  134. we've missed the point.

  135. The gospel message that Jesus dies for sins

  136. has in brackets the harsh reality that he had to die

  137. because of your sins.

  138. And so we need to be careful

  139. that even when it comes to rebuking someone

  140. who is around us, who is in sin,

  141. that we don't do it from this elevated position

  142. where we just tell them that they're wrong.

  143. But like Paul, gospel rebuke is pointing to the gospel.

  144. Because when you point to the gospel,

  145. it's not possible to be prideful.

  146. Because as you point somebody to the reality

  147. that they need to trust Jesus and they're not good enough,

  148. in the process of doing that,

  149. you're pointing to the fact that you need to trust Jesus

  150. because you're not good enough.

  151. And so it's not possible for you to suddenly feel

  152. like you're better than someone or more deserving.

  153. When you point to the gospel,

  154. you proclaim that you are someone who is sinful,

  155. who is not worthy of God's love,

  156. but who God loves anyway in Jesus.

  157. And it protects us from pride.

  158. There are no perfect Christians,

  159. just forgiven sinners.

  160. You, me and everyone else.

  161. And so there's no possibility of looking down on someone.

  162. When you look to the gospel,

  163. you realize we are all imperfect.

  164. We all need Jesus.

  165. The thing that drove Peter to be prideful

  166. in the way he was treating these people

  167. was actually fear.

  168. Have a look at verse 12.

  169. Before certain men came from James,

  170. and James is kind of representative

  171. of the official church in Jerusalem.

  172. So before people came down from there,

  173. he, Peter, used to eat with the Gentiles.

  174. But when they arrived,

  175. he began to draw back

  176. and separate himself from the Gentiles

  177. because he was afraid of those

  178. who belonged to the circumcision group.

  179. So he was eating with them.

  180. He was treating them like equal.

  181. But then he shifts his behavior

  182. because he's scared

  183. of what a particular group of people

  184. will think of him.

  185. See, not only is there a group for Peter

  186. that are clearly lower than him,

  187. there's also a group that are higher than him.

  188. There's also the legitimate Christians,

  189. you know, the hardcore ones

  190. who know memory verses

  191. and, you know,

  192. just carry their Bibles all the time

  193. so that you know just how godly they are.

  194. And when they turn up,

  195. he wants to make sure

  196. he's ticking their boxes.

  197. He wants to make sure

  198. they think he's legitimate.

  199. He's become so distracted

  200. by worrying about what they think

  201. that he's stopped remembering

  202. that the only opinion

  203. that's actually important anyway is God.

  204. That the whole point of the gospel

  205. and being a Christian

  206. is not to impress people,

  207. but to get your relationship

  208. with God fixed up.

  209. He's had his perspective skewed.

  210. And I wonder if it's possible

  211. that maybe that's happened

  212. for you as well.

  213. If you're somebody

  214. who walks in here to church each week

  215. and does just kind of gasp

  216. at the halo that's, you know,

  217. above some people's heads,

  218. the ones who are just extra nice

  219. and just always serving

  220. and just always knowing the answers

  221. in the small groups

  222. and you do just feel insecure around them

  223. because they just must be

  224. more impressive to God.

  225. See, the danger is

  226. when you get in that position,

  227. the way we respond to insecurity

  228. is with judgment.

  229. Because we're worried

  230. and we're putting in extra effort

  231. to try and tick the boxes,

  232. we demand that extra effort

  233. from other people as well.

  234. So instead of saying,

  235. all you need to do is trust Jesus,

  236. we say, all you need to do

  237. is trust Jesus

  238. and learn these verses

  239. and be at church every week

  240. and serve in at least three ministries

  241. that require a minimum of six hours

  242. of your personal time each week

  243. and give this amount of your money.

  244. We just project our own insecurity

  245. and demand the equivalent of other people.

  246. And so I want to ask you,

  247. have you added to the gospel's demands

  248. for yourself?

  249. Are you actually holding yourself accountable

  250. to standards that God doesn't?

  251. Are you feeling guilty about things

  252. that God is not forcing you

  253. to feel guilty about?

  254. And I guess the second question is,

  255. are you doing that for other people?

  256. The gospel message

  257. that Jesus died for sins

  258. and rose again

  259. and that grace and peace

  260. is on offer for those

  261. who put their faith in him

  262. is not an abstract truth.

  263. It's something that changes

  264. our lives practically.

  265. It changes the way

  266. that we view ourselves.

  267. It changes the way

  268. that we understand

  269. our relationship with God

  270. and it changes the way

  271. we understand our relationships

  272. with one another.

  273. See, Paul's issue with Peter

  274. in this whole passage

  275. is there in verse 14.

  276. He says,

  277. When I saw that they were not acting

  278. in line with the truth

  279. of the gospel,

  280. I said to Peter in front of them all,

  281. You are a Jew,

  282. yet you live like a Gentile,

  283. not like a Jew.

  284. How is it then

  285. that you force Gentiles

  286. to follow Jewish customs?

  287. He says,

  288. What Peter's doing,

  289. adding standards

  290. that are required,

  291. adding requirements

  292. for these people,

  293. is not in line

  294. with the gospel.

  295. It's not part of the message

  296. that Jesus died for sinners.

  297. The gospel changes

  298. the way we view ourselves

  299. in our relationship with God

  300. and it must change

  301. the way that we view

  302. the people around us as well,

  303. both Christian and unchristian.

  304. The gospel doesn't leave us

  305. any room for rankings.

  306. It doesn't leave room

  307. for better and worse

  308. when it comes to following Jesus.

  309. Here, Paul and Peter's issue

  310. is that the Jew

  311. and the Gentile division

  312. is gone.

  313. The Jews who are God's people

  314. and then the Gentiles

  315. who weren't quite God's people,

  316. that's gone.

  317. In Jesus,

  318. God's people are those

  319. who trust what He has done

  320. to offer forgiveness.

  321. And so for us,

  322. we need to let go

  323. of the things

  324. that maybe we think

  325. are really important.

  326. So if you've been grown up

  327. in a Christian family,

  328. that's fantastic,

  329. but it makes no difference

  330. when it comes to the way

  331. God views you.

  332. If you know stacks

  333. of memory verses,

  334. if you're the smartest Bible person

  335. in this whole room,

  336. that's fantastic,

  337. but it makes no difference

  338. to how much God loves you.

  339. If you are serving

  340. in every ministry

  341. that we do in this church,

  342. that's great,

  343. but it makes no difference

  344. to how much God loves you.

  345. the only thing

  346. that matters,

  347. the clear message

  348. of the gospel,

  349. is that we know

  350. a person is justified

  351. by faith in Christ

  352. and not by observing the law.

  353. We know that we are only forgiven

  354. because of Jesus,

  355. because we've tasted

  356. that grace in our lives.

  357. We've experienced

  358. what it's like

  359. to actually say.

  360. Maybe you only remember

  361. just one time in your life

  362. where you said,

  363. God, I know I'm not good enough,

  364. but I need your forgiveness,

  365. and you felt what it was

  366. to have the weight lifted.

  367. You felt what it was

  368. to be loved unconditionally.

  369. Maybe you've doubted it,

  370. maybe you've been distracted

  371. by other things,

  372. but you have at some point,

  373. if you're a Christian,

  374. experienced grace,

  375. and you know

  376. that you did nothing

  377. to earn it.

  378. We know

  379. that a person

  380. can only be made

  381. acceptable to God

  382. by trusting in Jesus.

  383. And so there's no room

  384. for ranking.

  385. We're all trusting

  386. the same thing.

  387. We're all depending on Jesus

  388. just as much

  389. as the next person.

  390. And so we need

  391. to ask ourselves

  392. the question,

  393. how are we doing

  394. at this?

  395. How are we doing

  396. in our relationships

  397. with one another?

  398. Are we letting

  399. insecurity

  400. and intimidation

  401. by the super holy ones

  402. mean that we're not honest

  403. about how we're going

  404. or who we really are?

  405. Are we letting pride

  406. and this sense

  407. of looking down

  408. on the less godly

  409. affect who it is

  410. we're willing

  411. to spend time with

  412. at church

  413. or during supper?

  414. Because the gospel

  415. doesn't leave room

  416. for that.

  417. Where you struggle

  418. with that pride,

  419. Jesus brings humility

  420. because he says,

  421. no, no, no,

  422. you need me

  423. just as much

  424. as that person

  425. that you're looking at now.

  426. Where you struggle

  427. with insecurity,

  428. Jesus gives you

  429. confidence

  430. and security

  431. because he says,

  432. no, no, no,

  433. that person

  434. that's impressive

  435. over there

  436. needs me

  437. just as much

  438. as you do.

  439. What Jesus does

  440. in his death

  441. and resurrection

  442. is give us

  443. a rich unity

  444. and a fellowship.

  445. He gives us

  446. the opportunity

  447. to have deep

  448. relationships

  449. far richer

  450. than what anyone

  451. else in the world

  452. can enjoy

  453. because we don't

  454. have to have

  455. relationships

  456. that are dictated

  457. by what can I get?

  458. How much

  459. will this person

  460. love me?

  461. What does this person

  462. think of me?

  463. We can have

  464. relationships

  465. that start

  466. at the point

  467. of saying,

  468. regardless of

  469. what this person

  470. thinks of me,

  471. how they treat me,

  472. God loves me

  473. unconditionally.

  474. What the gospel

  475. does is kind of

  476. take away the needs

  477. that normally

  478. drive our relationships

  479. and releases us

  480. to be able

  481. to be generous,

  482. giving,

  483. trustworthy people.

  484. We don't have

  485. to pretend

  486. that we're more

  487. godly than we are

  488. because God says

  489. the only thing

  490. that matters

  491. when it comes

  492. to being loved

  493. by me

  494. is Jesus.

  495. This week

  496. we are launching

  497. into Activate

  498. and we've already

  499. said it's about

  500. the opportunity

  501. to join community

  502. groups,

  503. the opportunity

  504. to serve.

  505. Community groups

  506. are more than

  507. just a box

  508. to tick

  509. when it comes

  510. to being

  511. part of a church.

  512. Imagine what

  513. it would be like

  514. to gather

  515. with a group

  516. of people

  517. each week

  518. who were able

  519. to walk in

  520. and just be

  521. completely honest

  522. about how

  523. they were going.

  524. Were able to

  525. walk in and say,

  526. you know what,

  527. I'm having

  528. the worst week

  529. or month

  530. or term

  531. or year

  532. or decade

  533. of my Christian

  534. life so far.

  535. I just feel dry.

  536. I just feel

  537. unmotivated.

  538. Imagine what

  539. it would be like

  540. when you're feeling

  541. like to be able

  542. to walk in

  543. and just drop it

  544. and know

  545. that no one's

  546. going to go,

  547. ooh.

  548. No one's going

  549. to start texting

  550. it to their

  551. friends to say,

  552. oh, this person's

  553. doing bad.

  554. All they're going

  555. to do is

  556. remind you

  557. that God

  558. still loves you

  559. now as much

  560. as he did

  561. the day that

  562. you decided

  563. to follow him.

  564. Wouldn't it be

  565. amazing to walk

  566. into a room

  567. with a group

  568. of people

  569. and be able

  570. to say,

  571. I did this

  572. thing and it

  573. is shameful

  574. and embarrassing

  575. and wrong

  576. and know

  577. that even

  578. if people

  579. respond badly,

  580. God still

  581. loves you

  582. unconditionally.

  583. So you don't

  584. have to fake it.

  585. You don't have

  586. to water it

  587. down.

  588. You don't

  589. have to make

  590. it sound

  591. better than

  592. it was.

  593. You can

  594. just say,

  595. I stuffed

  596. up and I'm

  597. thankful that

  598. God loves

  599. me anyway.

  600. The gift

  601. of being in

  602. Christian fellowship

  603. is not that

  604. you're surrounded

  605. by people

  606. who are like

  607. you,

  608. but that

  609. even though

  610. you're surrounded

  611. by people

  612. who are

  613. completely

  614. different to

  615. you,

  616. you have

  617. one really

  618. important thing

  619. in common.

  620. You are

  621. loved by God

  622. because of

  623. Jesus and

  624. for no other

  625. reason.

  626. Wouldn't it

  627. be amazing

  628. to be part

  629. of a community

  630. that knew

  631. as its

  632. baseline truth,

  633. as its

  634. foundational

  635. reality,

  636. that all

  637. are justified

  638. by faith in

  639. Christ?

  640. No matter

  641. what anyone's

  642. done,

  643. no matter

  644. what we

  645. might do,

  646. no matter

  647. what mistakes

  648. we've made,

  649. no matter

  650. what we're

  651. doing now,

  652. equally

  653. loved,

  654. equally

  655. dependent

  656. on Jesus.

  657. Wouldn't

  658. it be amazing

  659. to be able

  660. to invite

  661. that person

  662. from school

  663. or work

  664. along to

  665. this community

  666. knowing that

  667. there is

  668. nothing about

  669. them that

  670. could make

  671. us look

  672. down on

  673. them?

  674. Knowing that

  675. when they

  676. walked in

  677. the room

  678. they would

  679. feel completely

  680. at home

  681. because they'd

  682. be surrounded

  683. by a bunch

  684. of people

  685. who were

  686. honest about

  687. the fact that

  688. we're not as

  689. good as we

  690. like to

  691. pretend we

  692. are.

  693. I mean

  694. sometimes as

  695. Christians we're

  696. known as the

  697. moral police

  698. which means not

  699. only do we rank

  700. one another but

  701. we stand in the

  702. world that we're a

  703. part of and rank

  704. ourselves against

  705. them.

  706. But the gospel

  707. doesn't leave

  708. space for that.

  709. The gospel

  710. says God

  711. loves you in

  712. spite of who you

  713. are not because

  714. of who you

  715. are.

  716. God loves

  717. you in spite

  718. of all the

  719. things that

  720. you try and

  721. keep secret.

  722. If we want

  723. the world

  724. around us,

  725. if we want

  726. the people

  727. in our

  728. lives to

  729. know just

  730. how amazing

  731. the love

  732. of God

  733. is,

  734. then we've

  735. got to be

  736. willing to

  737. be honest

  738. about just

  739. how unworthy

  740. of that love

  741. we are.

  742. Imagine what

  743. it would be

  744. like to be

  745. part of a

  746. group like

  747. that.

  748. But don't

  749. just imagine,

  750. let me give

  751. you the

  752. challenge.

  753. Maybe tonight,

  754. maybe next

  755. week,

  756. maybe the

  757. week after,

  758. you're going

  759. to sign up

  760. for a

  761. community

  762. group,

  763. or at

  764. least I

  765. hope you

  766. are.

  767. Why don't

  768. you be the

  769. one who

  770. initiates this

  771. sort of a

  772. community?

  773. Why don't

  774. you be the

  775. one who

  776. grabs hold

  777. of the

  778. absolute

  779. security you

  780. have in

  781. Jesus and

  782. be completely

  783. honest?

  784. Each week

  785. when you

  786. show up,

  787. say how

  788. you feel,

  789. confess the

  790. mistakes you've

  791. made,

  792. be gracious

  793. to those

  794. around you

  795. who've

  796. made

  797. mistakes,

  798. and begin

  799. to get a

  800. glimpse of

  801. just how

  802. good it is

  803. when the

  804. gospel shapes

  805. everything,

  806. shapes the

  807. way we view

  808. ourselves,

  809. shapes the

  810. confidence we

  811. have to stand

  812. before God,

  813. and shapes the

  814. way that we

  815. love and serve

  816. one another.

  817. Let's pray.

  818. Father God,

  819. we want to

  820. come before

  821. you and

  822. admit that

  823. as amazing

  824. as this

  825. sounds,

  826. it's not

  827. easy,

  828. that we're

  829. quick to

  830. doubt,

  831. we're quick

  832. to get

  833. nervous when

  834. other people

  835. judge us,

  836. we quickly

  837. fall into the

  838. trap of

  839. looking down

  840. on other

  841. people because

  842. it seems like

  843. a quick fix

  844. to our own

  845. insecurities,

  846. things.

  847. But God,

  848. we just ask

  849. that you would

  850. bring us back

  851. to the gospel

  852. in those

  853. moments,

  854. bring us back

  855. to our need

  856. for you,

  857. bring us back

  858. to your

  859. abundant

  860. provision,

  861. to the

  862. irreversible

  863. love and

  864. forgiveness

  865. that you

  866. have offered

  867. and purchased

  868. for us in

  869. Jesus.

  870. God,

  871. I pray that

  872. you would

  873. mark us

  874. as a church

  875. family by

  876. that absolute

  877. humility that

  878. comes from

  879. grace.

  880. May we show

  881. grace to one

  882. another,

  883. may we show

  884. grace to

  885. people who

  886. enter this

  887. building,

  888. who don't

  889. understand how

  890. we work,

  891. who don't

  892. understand how

  893. we behave,

  894. may we just

  895. love them as

  896. they are because

  897. that's what the

  898. gospel does.

  899. Father God,

  900. I pray that

  901. you would

  902. bless every

  903. one of our

  904. community groups

  905. over this

  906. coming semester,

  907. that they may

  908. be places of

  909. rich, deep

  910. relationships,

  911. where we do

  912. walk and share

  913. one another's

  914. burdens,

  915. where we do

  916. rejoice together,

  917. where we do

  918. confess,

  919. where we

  920. just encourage

  921. and feed the

  922. gospel security

  923. that is available

  924. for us.

  925. God, thank you

  926. for Jesus.

  927. Thank you that

  928. we don't have

  929. to pretend.

  930. Thank you that

  931. you love to

  932. bring people

  933. like us,

  934. unworthy

  935. sinners,

  936. people who

  937. it doesn't

  938. make sense

  939. to have that

  940. sort of

  941. relationship.

  942. You love to

  943. bring us

  944. together so

  945. that the

  946. world around

  947. us might

  948. see that

  949. what you

  950. offer is

  951. better than

  952. everything else.

  953. God, please

  954. do your work

  955. in us so

  956. that others

  957. might come to

  958. know what we

  959. know.

  960. Amen.
