  1. Now, many years ago, I drove to Yass to visit my sister, who had recently got married,

  2. and I took along with me a little friend who had been my sister's flower girl.

  3. Now, Michelle would have been in late primary school at the time,

  4. and my sister worked in Canberra, which is a little distance from Yass,

  5. and I volunteered to drive her to work, and the plan was that Michelle and I would have time in Canberra

  6. doing really wonderful things together.

  7. Now, this was my first trip to Canberra, and I really didn't know where I was going,

  8. and I also had this huge responsibility of looking after this young companion of mine.

  9. Now, for those of you who know Canberra, there are these really, really large roundabouts in Canberra,

  10. and when I say large, they go all around Parliament House,

  11. and if I remember correctly, there's two layers, but I'm not absolutely certain,

  12. but I just know that they're big, and they go around in a circle.

  13. And so, you need to know where you are going when you go to Canberra.

  14. You need to know which exit to get off to get to the place that you're going,

  15. and unfortunately, I didn't know that piece of information.

  16. So, I spent a lot of time going around and around and around and around,

  17. not knowing which exit was the one I was needing to get off to take my little companion for a fun day.

  18. Now, my little companion was more and more distressed,

  19. distressed because she saw the same things over and over and over again.

  20. When I say distressed, she was in tears and telling me I want to go home.

  21. So, we were really not in a good place at that moment in time.

  22. But in Galatians, it's a little bit like going around on a roundabout

  23. because we seem to be seeing the same message over and over again,

  24. and yet, it's a message that we too forget over and over as well.

  25. So, we need to try and set a new pattern, I think.

  26. Now, Paul's concentration and his central concern here is that he wants the Galatians to be right with God.

  27. This is of grave importance to Paul, and it's of grave importance to us as well,

  28. that we also know that we are right with God.

  29. We already know from previous sermons that Paul is combating the issue that there are Jewish Christians

  30. who are telling the Gentile Christians that to be saved, they first have to believe Jesus,

  31. then they obey a whole bunch of the laws, and then they are saved.

  32. And Paul's reminding them that what has to happen is that you believe Jesus,

  33. and then you're saved, and then you go on obeying God.

  34. Now, the law, being all the rules, all the regulations that we've spoken of over the last few weeks,

  35. the food restrictions, circumcision, ceremonial ways of doing worship.

  36. So, let's today think of three things.

  37. Now, for my community group people who like to have three points, here's your three points.

  38. The three points are going to be, and mind you, it is only three points because the passage actually does this for us very neatly.

  39. What we're going to look at is what is the gospel from verses 10 to 14?

  40. What is Paul asking of the Galatians in verses 1 to 5?

  41. And what witness does Paul bring in to give us in verses 6 to 9?

  42. So, what's the gospel in verses 10 to 14?

  43. Well, scripture tells us it's all about Jesus' life, death, and resurrection,

  44. that we will be saved if we believe in him.

  45. We are justified, that is, we are made right with God, and we are no longer condemned.

  46. We receive this through grace if we believe in him.

  47. That's what all of the Bible keeps telling us.

  48. And it seems so simple to believe in Jesus.

  49. But the Galatians were being encouraged to believe that it wasn't enough.

  50. And we too fall into that same trap of thinking that it cannot be that simple.

  51. You see, doing good is a natural default setting for all humans.

  52. Many believe that God will love you more if you are busy doing good things,

  53. or that by doing good things, that's the way that you get to God.

  54. It's either about your place in heaven or God loving you.

  55. Now, remember in the first sermon that Sam did on this Galatians,

  56. he mentioned the two diagnostic questions that Evangelism Explosion talks about.

  57. The first one being, if you were to die tonight, where would you wake up?

  58. And the second one being, if you were to die and you wake up in heaven and God says to you,

  59. why should I let you into my kingdom, what would you say?

  60. Now, I've been around using those two questions in actual fact for many years,

  61. for about 40 years.

  62. I have used those same questions.

  63. And I can tell you there is a massive percentage of answers that I have received over the years

  64. that most people would actually say, well, I've actually been pretty good

  65. and I've tried to do the right thing.

  66. And, you know, and it's about how good I have been as a person.

  67. And that comes from Christian people too, let me say.

  68. So we all fall into this trap that we're talking about today.

  69. Now, the law or obedience to the law won't get you to God

  70. and doing good deeds for salvation won't get you to God either.

  71. Why is that?

  72. Well, verse 10 says,

  73. For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse.

  74. As it is written,

  75. cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything that is written in the book of the law.

  76. Now, those who live by the law,

  77. who are relying on their obedience to the law,

  78. their own moral achievements to make them right with God

  79. are under a curse.

  80. And it is as bad as it sounds.

  81. It means devoted to damnation

  82. or devoted to destruction.

  83. And Paul is saying the very law that you Galatians are looking to

  84. to make you right with God

  85. actually teaches that you are in big, big trouble.

  86. So Paul is warning them,

  87. do not do it.

  88. Verses 11 to 12 says,

  89. Clearly, no one who relies on the law is justified before God

  90. because the righteous will live by faith.

  91. The law is not based on faith.

  92. On the contrary, it says,

  93. the person who does these things will live by them.

  94. Obeying the law can't do enough to save you.

  95. Notice Paul assumes that they're going to fail in this.

  96. And he points out that it has always been God's intention from the beginning

  97. that one is saved by faith.

  98. Faith is about trust.

  99. It's about entrusting yourself to another.

  100. So he's saying we are only made righteous,

  101. we are only rescued from the curse and God's wrath

  102. through putting our faith in the one

  103. who has perfectly obeyed and fulfilled the will of God.

  104. That is Jesus Christ.

  105. Think about it.

  106. Jesus is the only one who has never been under a curse

  107. and Paul is saying that's where you look.

  108. You look to Jesus.

  109. That's where you put your faith.

  110. If you put your faith in him,

  111. you will be forgiven of your sins.

  112. You will be declared innocent by God.

  113. You will be made right with God.

  114. The curse will be lifted.

  115. But the question comes how.

  116. How is putting my faith in this man Jesus going to save me

  117. and do what the law cannot do?

  118. And Paul tells us in verse 13,

  119. excuse me,

  120. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law

  121. by becoming a curse for us.

  122. For it is written, cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.

  123. Now friends, as I look around the room,

  124. there should be great smiles on your faces

  125. because this is the best news ever.

  126. This is the message of the Christian faith.

  127. This is what God is inviting you to believe and to be saved by.

  128. How did he do it?

  129. He did it by going to a tree,

  130. by going to the cross,

  131. by being crucified.

  132. After having lived a sinless life,

  133. he did this to ransom us.

  134. On the cross,

  135. he became our substitute.

  136. He took our place.

  137. He made atonement.

  138. He made payment for the debt that we owed God.

  139. He substituted himself and paid what we could not pay.

  140. Being crucified is horrific.

  141. But what is worse and what is more scandalous

  142. is the wrath of God that was put on Jesus

  143. instead of putting it on us.

  144. God did not withhold anything.

  145. Jesus redeemed us from the curse

  146. by becoming a curse for us.

  147. And do you know what is quite stunning here?

  148. If we put our faith in Christ to save us

  149. in the same supernatural way,

  150. he takes away our sin

  151. and the eternal punishment we deserve

  152. because we've disobeyed him.

  153. He gives us his righteousness.

  154. He gives us his moral perfection

  155. so we are declared as seen as innocent

  156. before God the Father.

  157. He doesn't just take away our sins.

  158. That would be enough.

  159. He then gives us his perfect record.

  160. The one who obeyed perfectly says,

  161. now what I've done,

  162. it's as if you have done it.

  163. If you put your faith in me.

  164. He clothes us with robes of righteousness.

  165. Now Athanasius,

  166. who is one of the early church fathers

  167. in the fourth century,

  168. he called this the glorious exchange.

  169. That Christ, the Son of God,

  170. got the punishment

  171. and took the punishment of an enemy of God

  172. so we, who are the enemies of God,

  173. could receive blessings of sons and daughters of God.

  174. It's the glorious exchange that occurs.

  175. Believing in this,

  176. putting your hope in this

  177. and living by this

  178. is at the heart of what it means to be a Christian.

  179. So the gospel that Paul taught the Galatians

  180. was one of grace.

  181. It has always been

  182. and it always will be

  183. about grace.

  184. Now,

  185. having seen what the gospel is,

  186. what does Paul ask

  187. of the Galatians

  188. in verses one to five?

  189. He says this,

  190. you foolish Galatians,

  191. who has bewitched you?

  192. Before your very eyes,

  193. Jesus Christ was portrayed as crucified.

  194. I would like to learn just one thing from you.

  195. Did you receive the spirit by observing the law

  196. or by believing what you heard?

  197. Are you so foolish?

  198. After beginning by the means of the spirit,

  199. are you now trying to finish

  200. by the means of the flesh?

  201. Have you experienced so much in vain,

  202. if it really was in vain?

  203. So again,

  204. I ask you,

  205. does God give you his spirit

  206. and work miracles among you

  207. because you observe the works of the law

  208. or by what you heard?

  209. So many questions

  210. in that one paragraph.

  211. So much concern

  212. from Paul to the Galatians.

  213. So brash

  214. was Paul

  215. that he calls

  216. the Galatians,

  217. whom he loves,

  218. he calls them fools.

  219. Now we've already seen

  220. what Paul had taught

  221. the Galatians,

  222. that the gospel is by grace alone

  223. through faith alone.

  224. But there's

  225. an important premise

  226. that Paul is pointing out here.

  227. That is,

  228. once you have become

  229. a Christian,

  230. how do you then move ahead?

  231. Did you see that?

  232. He says,

  233. after beginning

  234. by the means of the spirit,

  235. are you now trying

  236. to finish

  237. by means of the flesh?

  238. So the way you become,

  239. the way you come

  240. into faith

  241. is exactly

  242. the same way

  243. that you advance

  244. in the Christian faith.

  245. We don't change

  246. the message.

  247. Remember the two orders

  248. that Steve mentioned

  249. last week

  250. and I mentioned

  251. right at the beginning

  252. of this.

  253. There's a religious order

  254. that says

  255. that you start

  256. with belief

  257. in Jesus,

  258. you obey the commandments

  259. and then you are saved.

  260. This isn't a gospel

  261. at all.

  262. And then there is

  263. the gospel order

  264. that says

  265. that you believe

  266. in Jesus,

  267. you are saved

  268. and then

  269. you obey

  270. and you follow Jesus.

  271. the Galatians

  272. had it back

  273. to front

  274. and are being

  275. reminded

  276. to remember

  277. what they had

  278. first heard.

  279. But let me remind you,

  280. we are not saved

  281. to then just

  282. please ourselves.

  283. Ephesians 2.10

  284. says,

  285. for we are God's

  286. handiwork

  287. created in Christ

  288. Jesus

  289. to do good works

  290. which God prepared

  291. in advance

  292. for us to do.

  293. One of our core values

  294. here at St. Paul's

  295. is servant,

  296. to be servant-hearted,

  297. servant leadership.

  298. That isn't because

  299. we just want to fill

  300. rosters,

  301. let me tell you.

  302. it's because

  303. it sends a message

  304. and the message

  305. is all about

  306. your heart.

  307. It's about our heart

  308. when we want to serve.

  309. It tells us something

  310. of what is going on

  311. within you.

  312. Now what is fascinating

  313. in our Galatians verses

  314. is that Paul reminds them

  315. that it was before

  316. their very eyes

  317. that they saw Jesus

  318. crucified.

  319. But we know

  320. that that wasn't

  321. the case at all.

  322. The Galatians

  323. didn't see physically

  324. the crucifixion

  325. of Jesus.

  326. But the interesting

  327. thing is

  328. what the Bible does,

  329. the Bible actually

  330. uses sensory language.

  331. And the Bible

  332. uses it.

  333. Once you've actually

  334. got the intellectual

  335. knowledge,

  336. it then,

  337. that intellectual

  338. knowledge

  339. and Steve

  340. mentioned this

  341. in different words

  342. last week,

  343. it needs to become

  344. heart.

  345. But it becomes

  346. a heart belief

  347. and then the Bible

  348. uses a sensory language

  349. when it becomes

  350. a heart belief.

  351. It's so real

  352. and it's so vivid

  353. that it's as if

  354. you were personally

  355. there at the crucifixion

  356. witnessing what Jesus

  357. was doing

  358. for them personally

  359. and for us

  360. personally as well.

  361. Hence the sensory language.

  362. Another example

  363. of this sensory language

  364. is in Ephesians

  365. 118

  366. where Paul actually

  367. says,

  368. I pray also

  369. that the eyes

  370. of your heart

  371. may be enlightened.

  372. Paul wants

  373. the Ephesians

  374. here

  375. to know

  376. the hope

  377. of the gospel

  378. that it doesn't

  379. just remain

  380. a concept

  381. but it becomes

  382. a heart truth.

  383. so it's the eyes

  384. of their heart

  385. seeing something

  386. from the heart.

  387. Now how does one

  388. become a Christian?

  389. You get the facts,

  390. you trust

  391. and have faith,

  392. that is believe

  393. and you become

  394. righteous.

  395. God sees

  396. Jesus

  397. in us.

  398. Now Paul

  399. is pointing out

  400. that when the

  401. Galatians

  402. became Christians

  403. they stopped

  404. relying

  405. on

  406. the law

  407. and they trusted

  408. God

  409. would accept them.

  410. That's what happened

  411. at the beginning

  412. and God gives

  413. his spirit

  414. not because

  415. you observe

  416. the law

  417. but because

  418. you believe

  419. and the gift

  420. of the spirit

  421. then leads

  422. you through

  423. life

  424. and how

  425. you then

  426. obey God.

  427. you don't

  428. get into

  429. faith

  430. and then

  431. you turn

  432. around

  433. and you try

  434. really really

  435. hard to stay

  436. in the faith.

  437. That then

  438. would be no

  439. gospel at all.

  440. Remember

  441. verse 10

  442. says

  443. that we

  444. covered

  445. if you want

  446. to continue

  447. in keeping

  448. the law

  449. then you are

  450. under a curse.

  451. So

  452. what is Paul

  453. asking

  454. of the Galatians?

  455. He's asking

  456. them to

  457. remember

  458. remember

  459. the gospel

  460. remember

  461. the freedom

  462. in Christ

  463. remember

  464. as if you

  465. have just

  466. become

  467. a Christian

  468. today

  469. remember

  470. the joy

  471. remember

  472. what you

  473. saw

  474. when the

  475. scales

  476. dropped

  477. from your

  478. eyes

  479. remember

  480. co-remembers

  481. the moment

  482. when they

  483. were singing

  484. a particular

  485. song

  486. alternatively

  487. so just

  488. remember

  489. if

  490. and if

  491. you are

  492. here today

  493. and you

  494. cannot

  495. remember

  496. a time

  497. when the

  498. gospel

  499. came alive

  500. to you

  501. then just

  502. maybe

  503. you've never

  504. really

  505. understood

  506. it at all

  507. so today

  508. could be

  509. your day

  510. see

  511. taste

  512. hear

  513. all

  514. the words

  515. that

  516. Galatians

  517. is saying

  518. to us

  519. today

  520. alternatively

  521. if you

  522. are here

  523. today

  524. and you

  525. give

  526. agreement

  527. to

  528. the life

  529. of Jesus

  530. you

  531. know

  532. something

  533. of

  534. there was

  535. a death

  536. and a

  537. resurrection

  538. but you

  539. are choosing

  540. to live

  541. life as

  542. you wish

  543. to ordain

  544. your days

  545. your way

  546. then let me

  547. tell you

  548. this

  549. you have

  550. not believed

  551. the gospel

  552. at all

  553. if you

  554. are doing

  555. that

  556. just

  557. believing

  558. God

  559. and

  560. knowing

  561. that there

  562. is a

  563. God

  564. is not

  565. enough

  566. in James

  567. 2

  568. 19

  569. it says

  570. you believe

  571. that there

  572. is one

  573. God

  574. good

  575. even

  576. the demons

  577. believe

  578. that

  579. and they

  580. shudder

  581. so verse

  582. 5 says

  583. that God

  584. gives us

  585. his spirit

  586. it doesn't

  587. say that

  588. God gave

  589. his spirit

  590. it's not

  591. a once

  592. only action

  593. it's a

  594. continuous

  595. action

  596. we

  597. continually

  598. need to

  599. believe

  600. and have

  601. faith

  602. we can

  603. still

  604. struggle

  605. in life

  606. but in

  607. every area

  608. of our

  609. life

  610. we want

  611. to

  612. appropriate

  613. the gospel

  614. message

  615. and become

  616. like

  617. Jesus

  618. it won't

  619. happen

  620. completely

  621. until Jesus

  622. returns

  623. but we

  624. need to

  625. be continually

  626. repenting

  627. and moving

  628. toward

  629. Jesus

  630. allowing

  631. Jesus

  632. and his

  633. spirit

  634. to actually

  635. work on

  636. us

  637. and change

  638. us

  639. to be

  640. like

  641. Jesus

  642. and

  643. struggles

  644. come in

  645. many

  646. different

  647. ways

  648. sometimes

  649. it will

  650. be our

  651. pride

  652. fears

  653. jealousy

  654. envy

  655. bitterness

  656. and

  657. unforgiving

  658. spirit

  659. anger

  660. both

  661. passive

  662. and aggressive

  663. and many

  664. many more

  665. instead of

  666. just hoping

  667. that God

  668. will remove

  669. them or

  670. simply

  671. exercising

  672. willpower

  673. against

  674. them

  675. we

  676. might

  677. be

  678. should

  679. be

  680. asking

  681. ourselves

  682. what

  683. do I

  684. wrongly

  685. believe

  686. in

  687. what do

  688. I

  689. wrongly

  690. believe

  691. is being

  692. held

  693. withheld

  694. in order

  695. for me

  696. to feel

  697. complete

  698. for me

  699. to feel

  700. as if I

  701. have hope

  702. to be a

  703. person of

  704. worth

  705. what is it

  706. that I'm

  707. wrongly

  708. believing

  709. in

  710. for that

  711. to occur

  712. we might

  713. be wanting

  714. comfort

  715. above all

  716. things

  717. and someone

  718. has made

  719. our lives

  720. harder

  721. we might

  722. be worshipping

  723. other people's

  724. approval

  725. but let me

  726. tell you

  727. comfort

  728. and control

  729. and approval

  730. and many

  731. many other

  732. things

  733. they are

  734. functional

  735. saviours

  736. and when

  737. they are

  738. blocked

  739. we get

  740. bitter

  741. only

  742. when we

  743. set our

  744. eyes

  745. on Jesus

  746. for our

  747. everything

  748. and say

  749. there is

  750. no better

  751. way in

  752. life than

  753. Jesus

  754. will we

  755. move ahead

  756. and start

  757. the journey

  758. of becoming

  759. like him

  760. it will

  761. only

  762. be when

  763. we say

  764. Jesus

  765. is our

  766. everything

  767. we fail

  768. in this

  769. journey

  770. because we

  771. forget

  772. what we

  773. heard

  774. just like

  775. the Galatians

  776. had forgotten

  777. what they

  778. had heard

  779. so what

  780. is Paul

  781. asking the

  782. Galatians

  783. to do

  784. he's asking

  785. them to

  786. remember

  787. the gospel

  788. and to

  789. walk in

  790. obedience

  791. we all

  792. need

  793. to preach

  794. that gospel

  795. to ourselves

  796. day by day

  797. as well

  798. now we've

  799. seen what

  800. the gospel

  801. is and

  802. we've seen

  803. what Paul

  804. has asked

  805. of the

  806. Galatians

  807. now for

  808. his argument

  809. here in

  810. this letter

  811. he has

  812. this master

  813. stroke to

  814. bring in a

  815. witness of

  816. one who

  817. lived by

  818. faith and

  819. was credited

  820. to him as

  821. righteous

  822. and who

  823. is this

  824. person

  825. verse 6

  826. says

  827. consider

  828. Abraham

  829. Abraham

  830. who was

  831. way back

  832. not in the

  833. New Testament

  834. but right at

  835. the very

  836. beginning of

  837. the Bible

  838. Abraham

  839. is the

  840. witness

  841. he's going

  842. to call

  843. in

  844. Abraham

  845. no less

  846. by using

  847. Abraham

  848. Paul

  849. will show

  850. these Gentiles

  851. why they

  852. have been

  853. bewitched

  854. so from

  855. Genesis

    Genesis 12 chapter mention

  856. chapter 12

  857. 1 to

  858. 3

  859. it says

  860. the father

  861. of Jews

  862. is Abraham

  863. the people

  864. of Israel

  865. began

  866. when God

  867. promised

  868. Israel's

  869. ancestor

  870. Abraham

  871. that he

  872. would make

  873. his descendants

  874. into a

  875. great nation

  876. living in a

  877. God given

  878. land

  879. and blessed

  880. by God

  881. this is a

  882. man who

  883. lived 430

  884. years

  885. before

  886. the law

  887. that the

  888. Galatians

  889. are being

  890. told that

  891. they have

  892. to actually

  893. obey

  894. before that

  895. law was

  896. even given

  897. verse 6

  898. says

  899. just as

  900. Abraham

  901. believed

  902. God

  903. and it

  904. was

  905. credited

  906. to him

  907. as

  908. righteousness

  909. being

  910. credited

  911. being

  912. an

  913. accounting

  914. term

  915. that

  916. means

  917. to

  918. confer

  919. a

  920. status

  921. or a

  922. status

  923. on

  924. something

  925. that

  926. wasn't

  927. there

  928. before

  929. so what

  930. does it

  931. mean

  932. that

  933. Abraham's

  934. faith

  935. was

  936. credited

  937. to him

  938. as

  939. righteousness

  940. of course

  941. faith in

  942. God's

  943. word

  944. and promise

  945. results

  946. in

  947. righteousness

  948. if we

  949. believe

  950. God

  951. exists

  952. and that

  953. we owe

  954. him

  955. our

  956. obedience

  957. and

  958. worship

  959. then out

  960. of that

  961. will

  962. flow

  963. righteous

  964. living

  965. but here

  966. we have

  967. something

  968. more

  969. when the

  970. Bible

  971. tells us

  972. that God

  973. credits

  974. Abraham's

  975. faith

  976. as

  977. righteous

  978. it means

  979. that God

  980. is treating

  981. Abraham

  982. as if

  983. he were

  984. living

  985. a righteous

  986. life

  987. the lesson

  988. here is

  989. that when

  990. someone

  991. is credited

  992. righteous

  993. by God

  994. he is

  995. conferring

  996. this legal

  997. status

  998. on him

  999. he treats

  1000. them as

  1001. actually

  1002. righteous

  1003. and free

  1004. from

  1005. condemnation

  1006. even though

  1007. they are

  1008. still unrighteous

  1009. in their

  1010. heart and

  1011. behaviour

  1012. they have

  1013. not been

  1014. made perfect

  1015. at this

  1016. stage

  1017. but they

  1018. are justified

  1019. Paul and

  1020. Abraham

  1021. are showing

  1022. that it

  1023. is possible

  1024. to be

  1025. loved

  1026. and accepted

  1027. by God

  1028. while we

  1029. ourselves

  1030. are still

  1031. sinful

  1032. and imperfect

  1033. and we

  1034. know from

  1035. scripture

  1036. that Abraham

  1037. made some

  1038. really foolish

  1039. mistakes

  1040. and decisions

  1041. whilst waiting

  1042. for God's

  1043. promise

  1044. to be

  1045. fulfilled

  1046. so here

  1047. in Galatians

  1048. Paul is

  1049. saying to

  1050. do what

  1051. Abraham

  1052. did

  1053. first

  1054. believe

  1055. the gospel

  1056. message

  1057. believe

  1058. God

  1059. and second

  1060. have faith

  1061. in God's

  1062. provision

  1063. not in

  1064. our

  1065. performance

  1066. live

  1067. knowing

  1068. that God

  1069. provides

  1070. what else

  1071. does Abraham

  1072. teach the

  1073. Galatians

  1074. and us

  1075. we are

  1076. spiritual

  1077. children of

  1078. Abraham

  1079. we become

  1080. part of a

  1081. spiritual

  1082. family

  1083. of Abraham

  1084. by faith

  1085. the gospel

  1086. was preached

  1087. beforehand

  1088. to Abraham

  1089. and it

  1090. echoes

  1091. all the way

  1092. into eternity

  1093. from the

  1094. beginning of the

  1095. Bible to the

  1096. very end of the

  1097. Bible

  1098. is this

  1099. whole story

  1100. so ultimately

  1101. the good news

  1102. in the Old

  1103. Testament

  1104. is the good

  1105. news of

  1106. Jesus Christ

  1107. and this

  1108. gospel message

  1109. is for the

  1110. nations

  1111. we have a

  1112. global God

  1113. and a

  1114. global

  1115. message

  1116. Abraham

  1117. has much

  1118. to say

  1119. to us

  1120. here in

  1121. Galatians

  1122. but we'll

  1123. hear a lot

  1124. more about

  1125. Abraham

  1126. next week

  1127. so what

  1128. have we

  1129. covered

  1130. we've seen

  1131. the glorious

  1132. exchange

  1133. that is the

  1134. gospel message

  1135. we've been

  1136. told to

  1137. remember

  1138. this gospel

  1139. message

  1140. remember

  1141. remember

  1142. when Christ

  1143. came to

  1144. you

  1145. and we

  1146. have shared

  1147. in the

  1148. witness

  1149. of Abraham

  1150. clarifying

  1151. that it

  1152. is through

  1153. faith

  1154. that one

  1155. is saved

  1156. and made

  1157. righteous

  1158. men

  1159. can
