  1. My name is Matthew Capone, and I'm the pastor here at Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church,

  2. and it's my joy to bring God's word to you today.

  3. A special welcome if you're new or visiting with us.

  4. We're glad that you're here, and we're glad that you're here,

  5. not because we're trying to fill seats,

  6. but because we're following Jesus together as one community.

  7. And as we follow Jesus together,

  8. we become convinced that there's no one so good they don't need God's grace,

  9. and no one so bad that they can't have it,

  10. which is why we come back week after week to hear what God has to say to us in his word.

  11. We are once again taking a break from our series in the Gospel of Mark for Easter,

  12. and we're continuing from last week in the book of Colossians

  13. as we're looking at the resurrection and Jesus as our king and what that means for us.

  14. You'll remember from last week that the book of Colossians is actually a letter

  15. written by the Apostle Paul to the city of Colossae, which is in modern-day Turkey.

  16. And Paul writes it in the 60s AD from prison against false teachings that are going on in the church.

  17. Now, if you were with us last week in Colossians chapter 2,

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  18. you'll remember that we talked about the difference between being spiritually dead versus spiritually alive.

  19. And you remember we saw Jesus triumphing over the powers and the authorities,

  20. that he brought an end to their rule, their dominion.

  21. And so we talked about the spiritual resurrection,

  22. and I told you this story about the seminary professor

  23. who would take his students out to a graveyard, a cemetery,

  24. and he would say, preach to these tombstones.

  25. And he would tell them that's the same as preaching to someone who isn't saved.

  26. They've not been brought to spiritual life.

  27. They need God's power at work in their lives.

  28. You'll remember spiritual death is when we can't respond to God.

  29. We can't hear God.

  30. We can't love God.

  31. Spiritual life is when we're able to thank God for his gifts.

  32. We're growing in joy and love.

  33. We're able to repent of our sin.

  34. And you'll remember we talked to this spiritual life.

  35. It only comes through Christ's resurrection.

  36. So I told you about the payload,

  37. that it's a rocket that takes up the satellite.

  38. It's the airplane that takes up the passengers.

  39. It is Christ's resurrection, his rising, that raises us as well.

  40. And so that's what we talked about last week from Colossians chapter 2.

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  41. This week we're continuing talking about the resurrection with some new questions.

  42. Question 1, how do we live now in light of that fact?

  43. How does that affect our day-to-day lives Monday through Sunday?

  44. And what is it that we look forward to?

  45. What is it that hasn't happened that will happen because of Jesus' resurrection?

  46. And so we're going to look at two things.

  47. This is already written in your worship guide on page 7,

  48. which is resurrection life and resurrection hope.

  49. It's with that that I invite you to turn with me now in God's word.

  50. You can turn in your Bibles.

  51. You can turn on your phone.

  52. You can turn in your worship guide.

  53. No matter where you turn, remember that this is God's word.

  54. And God tells us that his word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path,

  55. which means that he has not left us to stumble alone in the dark,

  56. but instead he's given us his word to show us the way to go.

  57. And so that's why we read now Colossians 3, starting at verse 1.

  58. I invite you to pray with me as we come to this portion of God's word.

  59. Our Father in heaven, we praise you and thank you that Jesus has risen from the dead,

  60. that our life is hidden with him,

  61. that you have transferred us from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of your beloved son.

  62. We ask that you would speak once again by your word,

  63. that you would show us your grace and your truth,

  64. and most of all, you'd show us Jesus.

  65. You'd cast a spotlight on him that we'd see how beautiful and glorious he is.

  66. We ask these things in his mighty name.

  67. Amen.

  68. Last week, as I mentioned just a second ago,

  69. we talked about this issue of being raised from spiritual death to spiritual life.

  70. Paul here continues that to tell us that it is more than that.

  71. It is not just that we've gone from death to life.

  72. It's actually that we've been transferred from one kingdom,

  73. one citizenship into another kingdom, another citizenship.

  74. In fact, he says this in Colossians chapter 1, verse 13.

    Colossians 1:13

  75. He says that he's delivered us from the domain of darkness,

  76. and he's transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son.

  77. And in fact, that's what's happening here in verses 1 and 3.

  78. Verse 1, if you have been raised with Christ,

  79. he's saying you've been raised with Christ,

  80. you've been brought into this new kingdom.

  81. You have a new citizenship.

  82. You belong to a new reality.

  83. And then the opposite of that is also true.

  84. Verse 3, for you have died.

  85. It is not just that you've been raised to a new reality,

  86. but that your old citizenship is completely gone.

  87. You no longer belong to that world or that realm anymore.

  88. In other words, you now, because of Christ's resurrection,

  89. look to heaven, not to earth.

  90. You look to heaven, not to earth.

  91. And that's what he's saying in verse 2 when he says,

  92. set your minds on things that are above,

  93. not on things that are on earth.

  94. Verse 3, he tells us, heaven is your place.

  95. Your life is hidden with Christ in God.

  96. And so, in short, he's saying you have new life in one sense.

  97. And you've died in another sense.

  98. You are alive to heaven right now,

  99. and you are dead to earth.

  100. You're alive to heaven.

  101. You're dead to earth.

  102. Now, that's actually, in some ways,

  103. more confusing than it is helpful,

  104. because when we hear the word earth today as Christians,

  105. or worldliness, we might think,

  106. oh, that means anything in the material creation

  107. is somehow worthless,

  108. and all I should be doing now

  109. is just reading my Bible and praying.

  110. But, in fact, we need to use Paul's own definition

  111. of what it means to be earthly or worldly.

  112. When he talks about having died

  113. and not being with the things that are of the earth,

  114. he's talking about the world as it's dominated by sin.

  115. And we know that because he goes on

  116. in the next verse, in verse five,

  117. he says, put to death, therefore,

  118. what is earthly in you,

  119. and then he lists a bunch of sins,

  120. sexual immorality, impurity, passion,

  121. evil, desire, and covetousness.

  122. So, when we talk about being worldly or earthly,

  123. we're not talking about someone

  124. who cares about things that happen in everyday life.

  125. We're not saying you need to exit reality or society.

  126. We're not saying it's wrong to think about

  127. what you're gonna eat next, right,

  128. or what you're gonna wear.

  129. What we are saying is you have died to the world,

  130. to the earth, in as much as it is the realm

  131. of sin and evil and wickedness.

  132. That's what it means that you are no longer on earth,

  133. but in heaven.

  134. I provided you on verse seven of your worship guide,

  135. in fact, a definition of worldliness or earthliness.

  136. It's a system of values in any given age

  137. which has at its center our fallen human perspective,

  138. which displaces God and his truth from the world,

  139. makes sin look normal and righteousness seem strange.

  140. That's what it means when we talk about something

  141. that's worldly.

  142. It's displaced God and his truth from the world.

  143. And then Paul later goes on in Colossians

  144. and gives us a definition of what it means

  145. to be heavenly minded.

  146. This same chapter, verses 12 through 17,

  147. he says it's compassion, kindness, humility, meekness,

  148. patience, love, thankfulness, love for God's word,

  149. and singing, doing everything in Jesus' name,

  150. giving all thanks to God.

  151. I want you to think about it like this.

  152. Some of you, it's true that you were not born

  153. in the United States.

  154. Your home country is somewhere else.

  155. Others of us, that's not true,

  156. but we can imagine what that's like.

  157. That if you are from another place, what do you do?

  158. You often focus on the traditions

  159. and the values of that place.

  160. Even as you're away, you're thinking

  161. about your home country, right?

  162. You're reading in the news what it is

  163. that's going on in the country you came from.

  164. When you have a chance, what kind of dishes

  165. are you cooking?

  166. You are cooking the food that you grew up with,

  167. the recipes that are from your place.

  168. You are doing whatever you can,

  169. even though you're not there,

  170. to bring that place into the present.

  171. You continue to live as if that other country

  172. is your home.

  173. Why?

  174. Because in a sense, you actually belong there, right?

  175. That's actually your place.

  176. That's where your citizenship is.

  177. That is where you are most comfortable.

  178. Paul is saying this when he says,

  179. be heavenly minded.

  180. Look towards heaven as the place

  181. where you actually are from.

  182. Your citizenship is actually in the kingdom of God.

  183. Your culture is actually the culture

  184. of the kingdom of God.

  185. The recipes that you cook

  186. are recipes from the kingdom of God.

  187. This is where you truly belong.

  188. Act like it.

  189. This is where your citizenship is.

  190. Act like it.

  191. You have died, verse three,

  192. in the sense that sin no longer has power.

  193. It no longer has jurisdiction over you.

  194. Sin is not your home.

  195. You are sinful.

  196. Your earthly passport was taken away.

  197. You don't belong to that place anymore.

  198. And you were given a different passport.

  199. You were given a heavenly passport.

  200. So yes, you may fall into the practices

  201. and the patterns of this world,

  202. but that's not where you belong.

  203. You may fall into the country of sin

  204. and its practices,

  205. but that's not your home.

  206. Remember where you actually belong.

  207. You are living out the kingdom of God.

  208. That's what he's saying in verses one and two.

  209. If you have been raised with Christ,

  210. seek the things that are above.

  211. In other words, set your gaze,

  212. your focus on God and his kingdom.

  213. Verse two, set your minds

  214. on things that are above.

  215. That is the north star

  216. that determines and guides everything else.

  217. Why?

  218. Because that's where you belong.

  219. Why do you belong there?

  220. Because Jesus rose from the dead.

  221. Because of Christ's resurrection,

  222. you have been raised with him.

  223. You belong to a new place

  224. and a new kingdom.

  225. Seek those things.

  226. Set your mind on those things.

  227. Why do you seek first his kingdom

  228. and his righteousness?

  229. Because you belong to that kingdom.

  230. Why did we pray earlier this morning,

  231. your kingdom come,

  232. your will be done?

  233. Because that's where your true citizenship is.

  234. If you're a non-Christian,

  235. maybe you have questions or doubts

  236. or objections to Christianity,

  237. I hope that you feel this tension,

  238. that you feel the tension

  239. of belonging to the earth,

  240. which is to say,

  241. you know that we live in a world

  242. filled with systems of evil.

  243. And in fact,

  244. if you're completely honest,

  245. if you press into that,

  246. you recognize that the problems in the world

  247. are not simply problems that are out there.

  248. They're also problems that are in here.

  249. As I've told you before,

  250. the quote from Alexander Solzhenitsyn

  251. who says,

  252. the line between good and evil

  253. cuts through the center of every human heart.

  254. And so maybe you've come to terms

  255. or you're wrestling with this question of,

  256. I know that I am part of the problem.

  257. I know I must change.

  258. And I cannot change myself.

  259. What do you do with that?

  260. Well, Paul tells us here,

  261. and he told us in chapter two,

  262. you need to be brought from spiritual death

  263. to spiritual life.

  264. You need to be brought from one kingdom

  265. to another kingdom.

  266. You need to be transferred

  267. from the domain of darkness

  268. to the kingdom of the beloved son.

  269. Well, how does that happen?

  270. You can't do it by yourself.

  271. No one has ever resuscitated themselves.

  272. No one has ever brought themselves

  273. from death to life.

  274. This is by the power of God.

  275. And that is the only power

  276. that's able to do it.

  277. So I'm just gonna leave you

  278. with that tension.

  279. That's the tension

  280. that I hope that you feel

  281. if you're not following after Christ.

  282. If you look with me on page eight

  283. of your worship guide,

  284. you'll see this

  285. from a beginner's guide to America

  286. set by Roya Hakakian,

  287. who is an immigrant

  288. to the United States.

  289. She says,

  290. people who are not homesick

  291. set their clocks

  292. to the standard time

  293. of their own region.

  294. But in exile,

  295. when homesickness is at a peak

  296. and every thought

  297. chases the next

  298. in a loop of regret,

  299. the hours pass

  300. according to the standard time

  301. of the displaced.

  302. Here the body may slouch

  303. towards east, west, north, or south,

  304. but the heart is ever fixed homeward

  305. to the city you just left.

  306. Christian,

  307. your heart

  308. should be always fixed homeward,

  309. not to the city you've left,

  310. but the city

  311. to which you are going.

  312. You do not set your clock

  313. to the time of this world.

  314. You set your clock

  315. to the time of the kingdom of God

  316. because Jesus has risen from the dead.

  317. If you have been raised with Christ,

  318. seek the things that are above

  319. where Christ is.

  320. That

  321. is your true home.

  322. Paul doesn't just give a command, though.

  323. He doesn't just tell us

  324. to

  325. seek the things that are above

  326. or set our minds

  327. on things that are above.

  328. He also provides us

  329. with confidence

  330. and hope.

  331. They live this resurrection life.

  332. They are embracing

  333. the kingdom of God

  334. because of their resurrection hope.

  335. It is not just

  336. that they are spiritually alive,

  337. but they have

  338. a glorious future as well.

  339. That's what Paul tells them

  340. when he says

  341. that their life,

  342. verse 3,

  343. is hidden

  344. with Christ

  345. in God.

  346. Now,

  347. hidden could mean

  348. all sorts of things,

  349. right?

  350. It has a wide range of meaning.

  351. What it means here

  352. is clarified

  353. by the rest of the text.

  354. It's hidden in verse 3,

  355. but what happens

  356. in verse 4?

  357. When Christ,

  358. who is your life,

  359. appears,

  360. then you also

  361. will appear

  362. with him

  363. in glory.

  364. So your life

  365. is hidden

  366. in Christ

  367. in the sense

  368. that it is concealed.

  369. It cannot be seen.

  370. In other words,

  371. there are things

  372. that are true

  373. about you

  374. as a Christian

  375. that are not visible

  376. to the naked eye.

  377. There's a present reality,

  378. verse 3,

  379. you're hidden.

  380. There's this future

  381. transformation

  382. that you're going

  383. to appear.

  384. There's a glory

  385. that you have now

  386. as a Christian

  387. and an even greater glory

  388. that you will have

  389. in the future

  390. and it cannot be seen

  391. and it is invisible.

  392. Now,

  393. that may sound

  394. a little bit strange

  395. and pie in the sky,

  396. so I want you

  397. to think about it

  398. this way.

  399. There's a Puritan

  400. named Richard Sibbes

  401. who lived

  402. the 1500s

  403. and 1600s

  404. and he was

  405. an Anglican theologian

  406. and he gives us

  407. this example

  408. of two plots

  409. of ground.

  410. One plot

  411. of ground

  412. is actually

  413. a garden.

  414. The other plot

  415. is just a common field.

  416. Okay,

  417. so you've got

  418. the garden,

  419. you've got

  420. the common field.

  421. Can you tell

  422. the difference

  423. between the two

  424. in the winter?

  425. No.

  426. In the winter

  427. they look

  428. exactly the same.

  429. But what does

  430. the garden have

  431. that the common field

  432. does not?

  433. The garden

  434. has the seeds.

  435. There's something

  436. hidden there,

  437. right?

  438. There's power

  439. and potential.

  440. There's life

  441. that's lying

  442. under the surface.

  443. What is going

  444. to happen eventually?

  445. Well,

  446. the winter's not

  447. going to last forever,

  448. right?

  449. There's going

  450. to come a time

  451. we're kind of

  452. feeling it right

  453. now where things

  454. begin to warm up.

  455. The sun

  456. is going to shine.

  457. What's going

  458. to happen

  459. to that garden?

  460. All sorts

  461. of life

  462. is going

  463. to become visible,

  464. right?

  465. It's going

  466. to spring up.

  467. In the past

  468. it looked like

  469. those two plots

  470. of ground

  471. were the same.

  472. Now we see

  473. they were not.

  474. When Christ,

  475. the sun,

  476. returns

  477. in his second coming,

  478. there will be

  479. a glory

  480. that is true

  481. of you

  482. that will be

  483. visible

  484. for all

  485. to see.

  486. When Christ

  487. who is your

  488. life appears,

  489. then you also

  490. will appear

  491. with him

  492. in glory.

  493. There is something

  494. hidden under the

  495. ground,

  496. Christian,

  497. in your life

  498. that is true

  499. in part now

  500. and will be true

  501. in full one day,

  502. which is that you

  503. will be glorious

  504. and glorified.

  505. Your body

  506. will be free

  507. from all sickness

  508. and sin

  509. and disease

  510. and brokenness.

  511. That is the hope

  512. that we have

  513. because of Christ's

  514. resurrection.

  515. Paul tells us

  516. in other places

  517. that he's the first

  518. fruits.

  519. First fruits are

  520. what appear

  521. at the very beginning

  522. of a harvest

  523. and they show

  524. what the rest

  525. of the harvest

  526. is going to look

  527. like.

  528. We know

  529. what our future

  530. will be

  531. because Christ

  532. as the first fruits

  533. has already shown us.

  534. We know

  535. that we will rise

  536. from the dead

  537. with glorified bodies

  538. because Jesus

  539. already has.

  540. We can be confident

  541. of going from

  542. spiritual death

  543. to spiritual life

  544. because we are

  545. raised with him.

  546. Christian,

  547. when Christ

  548. who is your life

  549. appears,

  550. then you also

  551. will appear

  552. with him

  553. in glory.

  554. So set

  555. your mind

  556. on the things

  557. above.

  558. That is where

  559. your true glory

  560. lies.

  561. Remember

  562. your true

  563. country.

  564. Remember

  565. your hope.

  566. Remember

  567. the glory

  568. that is

  569. to come.

  570. Remember

  571. who you are.

  572. Become

  573. who you

  574. already

  575. are.

  576. You are

  577. already

  578. a citizen.

  579. You have

  580. already

  581. been raised

  582. from death

  583. to life.

  584. Paul is saying

  585. this has already

  586. happened.

  587. Act like it.

  588. Live

  589. into it.

  590. Embrace

  591. that.

  592. Seek

  593. the things

  594. that are

  595. above.

  596. Set

  597. your mind

  598. on the

  599. things

  600. that are

  601. above.

  602. This,

  603. by the way,

  604. is the

  605. beauty

  606. of the

  607. gospel.

  608. The

  609. beauty

  610. is that

  611. the

  612. citizenship

  613. comes

  614. before

  615. the

  616. behavior.

  617. The

  618. raising

  619. to

  620. spiritual

  621. life

  622. happens

  623. by

  624. God's

  625. power.

  626. He

  627. doesn't

  628. say,

  629. start

  630. acting

  631. like

  632. you're

  633. a

  634. citizen

  635. of

  636. the

  637. kingdom

  638. of

  639. God,

  640. and

  641. then

  642. I'll

  643. figure

  644. out

  645. later

  646. whether

  647. you're

  648. good

  649. enough

  650. to

  651. belong.

  652. No,

  653. he's

  654. saying,

  655. you

  656. are

  657. a

  658. citizen.

  659. Now

  660. act

  661. in

  662. accordance

  663. with

  664. that

  665. truth.

  666. Line

  667. yourself

  668. up

  669. with

  670. that

  671. reality.

  672. Set

  673. your

  674. mind

  675. on

  676. things

  677. that

  678. are

  679. above,

  680. not

  681. on

  682. things

  683. that

  684. are

  685. on

  686. earth.

  687. If you're

  688. not a

  689. Christian,

  690. I want

  691. to remind

  692. you of

  693. an

  694. inconvenient

  695. truth,

  696. which is

  697. that your

  698. life here

  699. is a

  700. life of

  701. rot

  702. and

  703. decay.

  704. It's

  705. not

  706. anything

  707. new

  708. or

  709. earth

  710. shattering

  711. for me

  712. to say

  713. that,

  714. but it's

  715. something we

  716. spend a lot

  717. of time

  718. and energy

  719. distracting

  720. ourselves

  721. from.

  722. Money

  723. and exercise

  724. and fitness

  725. and power

  726. cannot

  727. save you

  728. from the

  729. fact that

  730. this world

  731. lacks

  732. glory.

  733. Cannot

  734. save you

  735. from the

  736. fact that

  737. this world

  738. is characterized

  739. by decay.

  740. by deterioration.

  741. And no

  742. matter what,

  743. your

  744. existence

  745. here will

  746. come to

  747. an end.

  748. Whether it

  749. comes to

  750. an end

  751. in an

  752. instant

  753. or the

  754. lights

  755. slowly

  756. dim.

  757. And the

  758. Bible tells

  759. us it

  760. actually only

  761. gets worse

  762. after death

  763. if we're

  764. not

  765. hidden

  766. in Christ.

  767. If that

  768. glory is

  769. not planted,

  770. is not

  771. hidden

  772. in the

  773. soil of

  774. the

  775. garden.

  776. That we

  777. all

  778. experience

  779. some of

  780. God's

  781. goodness

  782. here,

  783. whether we

  784. believe in

  785. him or

  786. not.

  787. Matthew

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  788. chapter 5

  789. says,

  790. he makes

  791. the rain

  792. to fall

  793. on the

  794. just

  795. and the

  796. unjust.

  797. There

  798. will come

  799. a time

  800. when we

  801. are

  802. separated

  803. from

  804. God

  805. and

  806. his

  807. goodness.

  808. There

  809. is only

  810. one

  811. path

  812. to

  813. glory.

  814. There

  815. is only

  816. one

  817. way

  818. to be

  819. set

  820. free

  821. from

  822. sin

  823. and

  824. sickness

  825. and

  826. disease

  827. and

  828. it

  829. is

  830. this

  831. that

  832. your

  833. life

  834. is

  835. hidden

  836. with

  837. Christ.

  838. He

  839. is the

  840. only

  841. one

  842. who

  843. can

  844. protect,

  845. preserve,

  846. who can

  847. raise.

  848. the

  849. glory

  850. that we

  851. all

  852. long

  853. for

  854. as

  855. humans

  856. and

  857. the

  858. injustice

  859. that

  860. we

  861. grieve.

  862. There

  863. is only

  864. one

  865. way

  866. out

  867. and

  868. it's

  869. in the

  870. resurrection

  871. of our

  872. Lord and

  873. Savior

  874. Jesus

  875. Christ.

  876. There's

  877. a man

  878. named

  879. Mirhan

  880. Karimi

  881. Nasiri

  882. who

  883. spent

  884. 11

  885. years

  886. straight

  887. in the

  888. Charles

  889. de Gaulle

  890. airport

  891. in

  892. Paris.

  893. He

  894. was a

  895. Iranian

  896. exile

  897. and he

  898. was a

  899. student

  900. in

  901. Paris

  902. and in

  903. 1998

  904. France

  905. decided

  906. they were

  907. going to

  908. kick him

  909. out.

  910. He

  911. had

  912. lost

  913. his

  914. Belgian

  915. refugee

  916. documents

  917. and no

  918. country

  919. was willing

  920. to take

  921. him.

  922. No

  923. one would

  924. give him

  925. any

  926. papers.

  927. At

  928. one

  929. point

  930. Belgium

  931. said,

  932. we'll

  933. reissue

  934. you

  935. your

  936. papers

  937. but

  938. you

  939. have

  940. to

  941. come

  942. here

  943. in

  944. person

  945. to

  946. get

  947. them.

  948. But

  949. without

  950. any

  951. papers

  952. he

  953. couldn't

  954. leave

  955. the

  956. airport.

  957. So

  958. for

  959. 11

  960. years

  961. this

  962. man

  963. was

  964. trapped

  965. literally

  966. a

  967. man

  968. without

  969. a

  970. country.

  971. In

  972. September

  973. of

  974. 1999

  975. the

  976. chief

  977. medical

  978. officer

  979. at

  980. the

  981. airport

  982. finally

  983. was

  984. able

  985. to

  986. procure

  987. this

  988. man

  989. an

  990. international

  991. travel

  992. card

  993. and

  994. a

  995. French

  996. residency

  997. permit

  998. and

  999. so

  1000. he

  1001. had

  1002. everything

  1003. he

  1004. needed

  1005. to

  1006. finally

  1007. leave

  1008. the

  1009. airport.

  1010. Only

  1011. one

  1012. problem.

  1013. He

  1014. didn't

  1015. want

  1016. to.

  1017. The

  1018. chief

  1019. medical

  1020. officer

  1021. said

  1022. this

  1023. he

  1024. needs

  1025. to

  1026. be

  1027. looked

  1028. after

  1029. to

  1030. be

  1031. coaxed

  1032. back

  1033. into

  1034. the

  1035. outside

  1036. world

  1037. but

  1038. we

  1039. will

  1040. not

  1041. force

  1042. him

  1043. to

  1044. leave.

  1045. Brothers

  1046. and

  1047. sisters

  1048. if

  1049. you

  1050. are

  1051. hidden

  1052. in

  1053. Christ

  1054. your

  1055. citizenship

  1056. is

  1057. in

  1058. heaven.

  1059. It

  1060. is

  1061. time

  1062. to

  1063. leave

  1064. the

  1065. airport.

  1066. Because

  1067. Jesus

  1068. has

  1069. risen

  1070. from

  1071. the

  1072. dead

  1073. you

  1074. have

  1075. a

  1076. new

  1077. life

  1078. you

  1079. belong

  1080. to

  1081. him

  1082. and

  1083. so

  1084. do

  1085. this

  1086. verse

  1087. one

  1088. seek

  1089. the

  1090. things

  1091. that

  1092. are

  1093. above

  1094. verse

  1095. two

  1096. set

  1097. your

  1098. mind

  1099. on

  1100. things

  1101. that

  1102. are

  1103. above

  1104. because

  1105. verse

  1106. three

  1107. you

  1108. have

  1109. died

  1110. and

  1111. your

  1112. life

  1113. is

  1114. hidden

  1115. with

  1116. Christ

  1117. in

  1118. God

  1119. when

  1120. Christ

  1121. who

  1122. is

  1123. your

  1124. life

  1125. appears

  1126. then

  1127. you

  1128. also

  1129. will

  1130. appear

  1131. with

  1132. him

  1133. in

  1134. glory.

  1135. Let's

  1136. pray.

  1137. Our

  1138. Father in

  1139. heaven

  1140. we thank

  1141. you for

  1142. our

  1143. great

  1144. hope.

  1145. The

  1146. hope of

  1147. the

  1148. future

  1149. that

  1150. when

  1151. you

  1152. appear

  1153. we

  1154. will

  1155. appear

  1156. with

  1157. you

  1158. and

  1159. the

  1160. hope

  1161. of

  1162. the

  1163. present

  1164. that

  1165. you

  1166. have

  1167. delivered

  1168. us

  1169. from

  1170. the

  1171. domain

  1172. of

  1173. darkness

  1174. to

  1175. the

  1176. kingdom

  1177. of

  1178. your

  1179. beloved

  1180. son.

  1181. We

  1182. ask

  1183. that

  1184. you

  1185. would

  1186. help

  1187. us

  1188. to

  1189. live

  1190. that

  1191. reality

  1192. out

  1193. more

  1194. and

  1195. more

  1196. day

  1197. after

  1198. day

  1199. week

  1200. after

  1201. week.

  1202. We

  1203. thank

  1204. you

  1205. that

  1206. we

  1207. don't

  1208. have

  1209. to

  1210. earn

  1211. this

  1212. citizenship

  1213. but

  1214. it's

  1215. given

  1216. to

  1217. us.

  1218. And

  1219. we

  1220. ask

  1221. all

  1222. of

  1223. these

  1224. things

  1225. in

  1226. the

  1227. mighty

  1228. name

  1229. of

  1230. Jesus

  1231. Christ.

  1232. Amen.
