  1. Now, this may seem to you like a rather large chunk of text, and admittedly it is.

  2. A little bit challenging to take a look at this and see why we should go this far.

  3. And I've wrestled with that quite a bit over the last couple of weeks.

  4. But they are tied together thematically by both this reality and this metaphor of bread.

  5. As God continues in Jesus' ministry to draw people to believe that He is the Christ.

  6. Jesus put it this way, John 6, verses 47-51.

    John 6:47–51

  7. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

  8. I am the bread of life.

  9. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

  10. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.

  11. I am the living bread that came down from heaven.

  12. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.

  13. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.

  14. So He's teaching us there that He Himself is the very sustenance, the very thing that we need for life.

  15. And He's speaking of spiritual matters here.

  16. He uses this example of manna in the wilderness.

  17. Again, I've talked to you guys about typologies.

  18. Manna being a type of Christ.

  19. A way in which God met the physical needs of His people in the wilderness with this manna, this bread that came from heaven.

  20. But now He has sent a greater type, the anti-type.

  21. He has sent Christ as the bread of life to meet spiritual needs.

  22. And so you'll see that this text is all tied together with this metaphor, even as there's some physical interaction happening with bread.

  23. And that's important for us to see this morning.

  24. Now we see again a feeding miracle here.

  25. This is not a re-recording, as some people have suggested, of the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000.

  26. This is a separate instance.

  27. Some of the structure of the telling of it is similar, but it was a very similar miracle.

  28. We get different details, different region that it was happening in, a different report.

  29. He actually then later asked questions of the apostles about when He fed the 5 and when He fed the 4.

  30. And so this is clearly a unique miracle, although there are some similarities with the one that happened previously.

  31. We see in verse 1 that in those days a crowd had gathered.

  32. And Jesus now has returned from the region of Tyre and Sidon.

  33. He's been ministering primarily in Galilee, which is northwest of the Sea of Galilee.

  34. He's been primarily ministering in this region.

  35. And He has now gone off.

  36. He's coming really rapidly, bringing to a close His ministry in this region.

  37. And He's gone off to the coast of the Mediterranean, which is where Tyre and Sidon are located.

  38. Kind of a bit of a retreat.

  39. We see a couple of encounters in chapter 7 that happened.

  40. But the point was to get away from Galilee.

  41. And He's made this circuitous route to come around the region of Galilee and back into the Decapolis.

  42. You'll see that in chapter 7, verse 31.

  43. This is a region made up of 10 prominent Gentile cities.

  44. There were other cities there, but 10 prominent ones.

  45. Therefore, it's called the Greek Decapolis.

  46. It was to the east of the Sea of Galilee.

  47. A region just to the east of the Sea of Galilee.

  48. And previously, Jesus fed the 5,000, which was primarily a Jewish crowd in Galilee.

  49. We see that He expresses to them some of His Godhead.

  50. The way that He's come to lead them by having them sit in groups the way Moses did.

  51. And by having them, as Mark recorded, sit on the green grass to shepherd them.

  52. We don't see those details here because this is a Gentile crowd.

  53. So God orchestrates here with the life of Christ, the apostles' work in this time,

  54. another feeding, but to a different audience, to a Gentile crowd.

  55. And we notice here in verse 2 a unique thing that happens.

  56. Jesus states that He has compassion on this crowd.

  57. Now, this is a crowd that has been with Him three days.

  58. They've likely run out of food.

  59. They've traveled a great distance to hear Him speak.

  60. And He states that He has compassion on them.

  61. Now, this is the only place around this account that He says that.

  62. He Himself says that.

  63. Now, compassion is constantly attributed to Jesus as an observation of His actions.

  64. The recorders of the Gospel see the things He does,

  65. and they say He must have compassion for Him to act in this way.

  66. But this is the only place we see Him say that He Himself has compassion.

  67. And this is important that He declares this because it fulfills prophecy.

  68. Isaiah 54, 7 and 8.

  69. He is declaring Himself God.

  70. Verse 7,

  71. For a brief moment I deserted you, but with great compassion I will gather you.

  72. In overflowing anger for a moment I hid my face from you,

  73. but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,

  74. says the Lord, your Redeemer.

  75. So Jesus cares about the physical things.

  76. He's primarily concerned.

  77. His major focus is on the spiritual things,

  78. those things that are eternal,

  79. but He is compassionate.

  80. We see Him not only caring about the Spirit,

  81. but also about the stomach.

  82. We see Him healing people miraculously.

  83. He's upset about deafness

  84. and the inability to speak clearly.

  85. We saw at the end of chapter 7.

  86. He has compassion on people.

  87. He declares that here Himself.

  88. And then we see in verse 4,

  89. a rather miraculous display of unbelief.

  90. And this is the verse that causes,

  91. some will call them quote-unquote scholars,

  92. to presume that this is a second recording

  93. of the first miracle of the feeding of the 5,000,

  94. because they just don't understand how these men

  95. could have possibly seen Him feed so many people before,

  96. not too long before,

  97. and now doubt that He could do it again.

  98. We saw before,

  99. at the feeding of the 5,000,

  100. this is a record of the men,

  101. so it's likely a much larger group.

  102. There's no real way to know,

  103. but presumably men with families,

  104. so 20,000 to 25,000 people,

  105. quite possibly.

  106. Now with 4,000,

  107. this is probably a massive group,

  108. 16,000,

  109. 20,000 people.

  110. They've traveled away three days.

  111. Likely their families are with them.

  112. And the apostles say,

  113. how can one feed these people

  114. with bread here in this desolate place?

  115. What an incredible display

  116. of their unbelief.

  117. And then we see the details of this miracle.

  118. He asks them,

  119. how many loads do you have?

  120. They say seven.

  121. They're asked to sit.

  122. There's small fish.

  123. It's kind of tacked on the end

  124. as if it's not really the important part of the story,

  125. and it's not.

  126. It's just another way they were fed,

  127. but the bread is the thing

  128. that we're meant to really notice here

  129. and to focus on.

  130. And you'll see in verse 8

  131. that they ate and were satisfied.

  132. They had plenty.

  133. In fact,

  134. they had stopped eating,

  135. and so there were leftovers.

  136. The type of basket here,

  137. is likely a much larger basket

  138. than the previous 12 baskets

  139. that were taken up.

  140. The baskets that were generally carried

  141. in Gentile region

  142. were large baskets carried on the shoulder.

  143. You could put a small person inside of.

  144. So the point, though,

  145. is there's lots and lots and lots of leftovers

  146. that Jesus provided to them aboundingly.

  147. It was above and beyond

  148. what they even needed to be satisfied.

  149. And then we get the record

  150. that he immediately,

  151. this is, I think, Mark's favorite word,

  152. immediately got into the boat

  153. with his disciples

  154. and went to the district of Dalmanutha.

  155. Now, the district of Dalmanutha

  156. is not mentioned much in history.

  157. You'll see in Matthew,

  158. it's recorded as the region of Magadan.

  159. So we've got the district of Dalmanutha,

  160. the region of Magadan.

  161. It would have been kind of like saying,

  162. I'm going to Marietta

  163. versus saying I'm going to Cobb County.

  164. This would have been a similar thing.

  165. So these aren't contradictory accounts,

  166. but these cities and this region

  167. existing in the same place,

  168. back again on the west side

  169. of the Sea of Galilee.

  170. This region was south of Capernaum

  171. where he had kind of headquartered

  172. his Galilean ministry.

  173. So he's now entered into a new place.

  174. And we see in verse 11,

  175. the Pharisees.

  176. Matthew's account expands that for us a bit

  177. and says the Pharisees

  178. and the Sadducees.

  179. And they immediately,

  180. they come up to him

  181. and they begin to argue with him.

  182. The Greek word would also mean dispute.

  183. Argue, dispute.

  184. Get into a debate from him.

  185. And the record here in verse 11

  186. is they were seeking from him

  187. a sign from heaven,

  188. not for the sake of belief,

  189. but to test him.

  190. To back him into a corner

  191. to prove that he wasn't who he says

  192. that he is.

  193. That is the Christ,

  194. the Son of God.

  195. Now it's interesting

  196. that Matthew's account records

  197. that the Pharisees and the Sadducees

  198. came together

  199. because these two

  200. were on the opposite ends

  201. of the religious spectrum.

  202. These groups of Jews.

  203. Opposite ends

  204. of the religious spectrum.

  205. In fact,

  206. they were religious enemies.

  207. They didn't really get along.

  208. They believed different things.

  209. If you'll allow,

  210. there were the conservatives

  211. and the liberals.

  212. Not politically speaking,

  213. but the way they treated

  214. the law of God.

  215. The Pharisees were the legalists.

  216. They were the fundamentalists.

  217. They followed everything to a T.

  218. At least they believed they did.

  219. The Sadducees were a little more

  220. loose with that.

  221. The Sadducees were primarily

  222. those involved in running the temple.

  223. They were extorters.

  224. People would bring sacrifice

  225. to the temple.

  226. They would tell them

  227. that they weren't good enough

  228. and then they would sell them

  229. an acceptable sacrifice

  230. at a really high rate.

  231. Often they wouldn't accept

  232. the money that they brought.

  233. They would make them exchange

  234. the money for the proper type of money.

  235. They would rip them off there as well.

  236. Horrible extortioners.

  237. Didn't care too much

  238. about defilement.

  239. They loved the Greek culture.

  240. The Pharisees hated it.

  241. But here we see them

  242. joining forces,

  243. which is such a fascinating thing.

  244. Because they were still those.

  245. They were apostate.

  246. They had built structures

  247. for themselves,

  248. whether it was conservative

  249. or whether it was liberal.

  250. They still rejected Jesus

  251. as the Christ.

  252. They missed the point

  253. altogether,

  254. together.

  255. You've heard the old adage,

  256. the enemy of my enemy

  257. is my friend.

  258. And this is what we find them,

  259. combining forces to come

  260. and to attack Jesus,

  261. to dispute with him

  262. and ask of him

  263. a sign from heaven.

  264. Now there's a superstition

  265. in Jewish culture in this day

  266. that only God could do

  267. a miracle from heaven,

  268. and here we're speaking of

  269. from the sky,

  270. but demons could do

  271. earthly miracles.

  272. So they're pressing him

  273. into a position

  274. where he either

  275. had to do it

  276. to prove who he was

  277. in their thinking,

  278. or deny doing it at all

  279. and then therefore

  280. deny who he is.

  281. They think they've got him

  282. backed into a corner

  283. with this request.

  284. We need a sign from heaven

  285. because this is only a thing

  286. that God could do

  287. to test him.

  288. To test him.

  289. Now do you all remember

  290. the story of Nicodemus?

  291. Nicodemus was a leader

  292. amongst the Pharisees.

  293. John chapter 3 verses 1 and 2

    John 3:1

  294. records him coming to Jesus.

  295. Now there was a man

  296. of the Pharisees

  297. named Nicodemus,

  298. a ruler of the Jews.

  299. This man came to Jesus

  300. by night and said to him,

  301. Rabbi, we know

  302. that you are a teacher

  303. come from God.

  304. We know.

  305. Who is he referring to?

  306. He's referring to that group

  307. to which he belonged,

  308. the Pharisees.

  309. We know that you are a teacher

  310. come from God,

  311. for no one can do

  312. these signs that you do

  313. unless God

  314. is with him.

  315. So here you see

  316. Nicodemus.

  317. Nicodemus later

  318. gets this teaching

  319. from Jesus

  320. that he must be born again,

  321. must be born of flesh

  322. and the water

  323. of the Spirit.

  324. This is such a beautiful thing.

  325. I want to believe

  326. that Nicodemus

  327. is counted amongst the saints.

  328. We don't see his response

  329. to this teaching,

  330. but he says here,

  331. we know

  332. that you are a teacher

  333. come from God.

  334. And it's fascinating

  335. to see that there were

  336. groups of Pharisees

  337. that knew exactly

  338. who Jesus was.

  339. So what was going on

  340. with these?

  341. These Pharisees

  342. and these Sadducees.

  343. And that is that they

  344. were just absolutely

  345. spiritually blind.

  346. They had no idea.

  347. Jesus had done

  348. time and time again

  349. things to prove

  350. that he was

  351. the Christ

  352. over and over again.

  353. He was the fulfillment

  354. of Old Testament

  355. processes.

  356. These men,

  357. these were the men

  358. that should have

  359. known the Scriptures

  360. and known who Jesus was.

  361. They should have seen him

  362. for who he was.

  363. But they were

  364. spiritually blind

  365. and they asked

  366. of him

  367. this test.

  368. And his response

  369. to them

  370. is first

  371. that he sighs

  372. deeply.

  373. It's the only place

  374. this compound

  375. Greek phrase

  376. is used

  377. in the New Testament.

  378. We see him sigh

  379. previously

  380. in chapter 7

  381. verse 34

  382. over the physical

  383. effect of sin

  384. but here we see him

  385. sigh deeply

  386. over the spiritual

  387. effect of sin.

  388. This is a

  389. remorse.

  390. This is a longing.

  391. This is a sad

  392. moment for him

  393. that these men

  394. are so blinded

  395. that they would

  396. ask this thing

  397. of him.

  398. That they would

  399. come to him

  400. in this way,

  401. in this attitude

  402. and this manner.

  403. And his response

  404. to him is

  405. why does this

  406. generation seek a sign?

  407. And truly I say

  408. to you,

  409. no sign

  410. will be given

  411. to this generation.

  412. A similar account

  413. is found in

  414. Matthew chapter 12

    Matthew 12:38–41

  415. verse 38

  416. through 41.

  417. And some of the

  418. scribes and Pharisees

  419. answered him

  420. saying,

  421. Teacher,

  422. we wish to see

  423. a sign from you.

  424. But he answered

  425. them,

  426. An evil

  427. and adulterous

  428. generation

  429. seeks for a sign

  430. but no sign

  431. will be given

  432. to it

  433. except the sign

  434. of the prophet

  435. Jonah.

  436. For just as

  437. Jonah was

  438. three days

  439. and three nights

  440. in the belly

  441. of the great fish

  442. so will the

  443. son of man

  444. be three days

  445. and three nights

  446. in the heart

  447. of the earth.

  448. There's Jonah

  449. as a type.

  450. Verse 41,

  451. The men of Nineveh

  452. will rise up

  453. at the judgment

  454. with this generation

  455. and condemn it

  456. for they repented

  457. at the preaching

  458. of Jonah

  459. and behold

  460. something greater

  461. than Jonah

  462. is here.

  463. What is Jesus

  464. saying to them?

  465. This is a crooked,

  466. a perverse

  467. generation.

  468. When he says

  469. generation,

  470. he's just referring

  471. to the Pharisees,

  472. the Sadducees

  473. and everyone else

  474. who wouldn't

  475. believe.

  476. It's a very broad

  477. general term

  478. to those

  479. in that day.

  480. They were like

  481. Israel in the desert.

  482. They wouldn't believe.

  483. What is Jesus

  484. saying about himself?

  485. That he himself

  486. is the sign.

  487. That he's standing

  488. right in front of them

  489. and all they have

  490. to do

  491. is believe

  492. that he is the Christ.

  493. They're like Israel

  494. in the desert.

  495. These Pharisees

  496. and Sadducees,

  497. the rest of Israel

  498. in this day.

  499. Deuteronomy 32.5

  500. records,

  501. they have dealt

  502. corruptly with him.

  503. They are no longer

  504. his children

  505. because they are

  506. blemished.

  507. They are a crooked

  508. and twisted

  509. generation.

  510. So you see here

  511. the scribes,

  512. the Pharisees,

  513. the Sadducees

  514. in their blindness

  515. coming to test Jesus

  516. and there's a

  517. very thematic

  518. dealing with blindness

  519. to the truth of God

  520. in the Scriptures.

  521. Lots of language

  522. about darkness,

  523. the inability

  524. to see

  525. and I want to

  526. take you through

  527. some of these

  528. together.

  529. If you have

  530. the stamina,

  531. I encourage you

  532. to flip with me

  533. to these places

  534. but I'm going to

  535. move fairly quickly

  536. for the sake of time.

  537. John chapter 1

    John 1 chapter mention

  538. beginning in verse 1

  539. In the beginning

  540. was the Word

  541. and the Word

  542. was with God

  543. and the Word

  544. was God

  545. speaking of Jesus.

  546. He was in the beginning

  547. with God.

  548. All things were made

  549. through Him

  550. and without Him

  551. was not anything made

  552. that was made.

  553. In Him was life

  554. and the life

  555. was the light

  556. of men.

  557. The light shines

  558. in the darkness

  559. and the darkness

  560. has not overcome it.

  561. Verse 9

  562. The true light

  563. which gives light

  564. to everyone

  565. was coming into the world.

  566. He was in the world

  567. and the world

  568. was made through Him

  569. yet the world

  570. did not know Him.

  571. He came to His own

  572. and His own people

  573. did not receive Him.

  574. We see evidence

  575. of that happening here

  576. in verses 11-13

  577. in chapter 8

  578. of Mark.

  579. Further on

  580. in the Gospel of John

    John 3:18–21

  581. chapter 3

  582. verse 18-21

  583. Whoever believes in Him

  584. the Son of God

  585. is not condemned

  586. but whoever does not believe

  587. is condemned already

  588. because he has not believed

  589. in the name

  590. of the only Son of God.

  591. And this is the judgment.

  592. The light has come

  593. into the world

  594. and people loved the darkness

  595. rather than the light

  596. because their works

  597. were evil.

  598. For everyone

  599. who does wicked things

  600. hates the light

  601. and does not come

  602. to the light

  603. lest his works

  604. should be exposed.

  605. But whoever does

  606. what is true

  607. comes to the light

  608. so that it may be

  609. clearly seen

  610. that his works

  611. have been carried out

  612. in God

  613. or from faith.

  614. So here we see

  615. this metaphor

  616. this analogy

  617. for those who are

  618. in the dark

  619. are those who produce evil

  620. those who have evil hearts

  621. and that is humanity

  622. apart from Christ.

  623. But those who are

  624. in the light

  625. who have been carried

  626. out their works

  627. in God

  628. by faith

  629. are those who are

  630. found in Christ.

  631. The darkness

  632. hates the light

  633. because light

  634. destroys darkness.

  635. Darkness doesn't exist

  636. when the lights flip on.

  637. So it hates it.

  638. It abhors it.

  639. And people who live

  640. in the darkness

  641. want to avoid

  642. the light.

  643. This was certainly true

  644. of so many

  645. vast, vast numbers

  646. of the Jews

  647. in Jesus' name.

  648. This is why we see

  649. in Luke 19

    Luke 19:41

  650. verse 41

  651. Jesus drawing near

  652. Jerusalem

  653. and he weeps

  654. over it.

  655. Verse 42

  656. saying

  657. would that you

  658. even you had known

  659. on this day

  660. the things that make

  661. for peace

  662. but now they are

  663. hidden

  664. from your eyes.

  665. You are

  666. spiritually blind.

  667. You are in

  668. the dark.

  669. This is also true

  670. of the Gentiles.

  671. Paul gives us

  672. record of this

  673. in Romans chapter 1

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  674. beginning in verse 18

  675. for the wrath of God

  676. is revealed

  677. from heaven

  678. against all ungodliness

  679. and unrighteousness

  680. of men

  681. who by their

  682. unrighteousness

  683. suppress the truth.

  684. Now this is an address

  685. to Gentiles

  686. because

  687. verse 19 says

  688. for what can be known

  689. about God

  690. is plain to them

  691. because God

  692. has shown it to them.

  693. They don't have the law

  694. but it has been made

  695. evidenced in the creation

  696. for his invisible attributes

  697. namely his eternal power

  698. and divine nature

  699. have been clearly perceived

  700. ever since the creation

  701. of the world

  702. and the things

  703. that have been made

  704. so they are without

  705. excuse.

  706. For although they knew God

  707. they didn't honor him

  708. as God

  709. or give thanks to him

  710. but they came futile

  711. in their thinking

  712. and their foolish hearts

  713. were darkened.

  714. Claiming to be wise

  715. they became fools

  716. and exchanged the glory

  717. of the immortal God

  718. for images resembling

  719. mortal man

  720. and birds

  721. and animals

  722. and creeping things.

  723. Dwelling in the darkness

  724. rejecting God.

  725. This was true

  726. before the days

  727. of Jesus.

  728. Psalm 82.5

  729. says the wicked

  730. have neither knowledge

  731. nor understanding

  732. they walk about

  733. in darkness.

  734. Proverbs 4.19

  735. The way of the wicked

  736. is like deep darkness.

  737. They do not know

  738. over what they stumble.

  739. Isaiah 44.18

  740. They know not

  741. nor do they discern

  742. for he has shut their eyes

  743. so that they cannot see

  744. in their hearts

  745. so that they cannot

  746. understand.

  747. This is true

  748. after the days

  749. of Jesus

  750. leading right up

  751. to the days

  752. in which we now live.

  753. Paul writes

  754. in Ephesians 4.17-19

  755. Now this I say

  756. in testifying the Lord

  757. that you must

  758. no longer walk

  759. as the Gentiles do

  760. just meaning

  761. those outside the faith

  762. in the futility

  763. of their minds.

  764. They are darkened

  765. in their understanding

  766. alienated from

  767. the life of God

  768. because of the ignorance

  769. that is in them

  770. due to their

  771. hardness of heart.

  772. They have become callous

  773. and have given themselves

  774. up to sensuality

  775. greedy to practice

  776. every kind of impurity.

  777. Again you see

  778. the darkness

  779. they are darkened

  780. in their understanding.

  781. Paul writes again

  782. in 2 Corinthians

  783. verse 4

  784. excuse me

  785. chapter 4

  786. verse 3-4

  787. And even if our gospel

  788. is veiled

  789. that is hidden

  790. it is veiled

  791. to those who are perishing

  792. in their case

  793. the God of this world

  794. being Satan

  795. has blinded the minds

  796. of the unbelievers

  797. to keep them from seeing

  798. the light of the gospel

  799. of the glory of Christ

  800. who is the image

  801. of God.

  802. So here we see

  803. all these different things

  804. at work

  805. individuals

  806. we see God at work

  807. we see Satan at work

  808. and these people

  809. are darkened

  810. and they are blind

  811. to the reality

  812. of Christ.

  813. And here in this text

  814. there seems

  815. to be a turning point

  816. as Jesus deals

  817. with the Pharisees

  818. and the Sadducees

  819. moving on

  820. in the gospel of Mark

  821. he doesn't show

  822. much mercy

  823. to them

  824. he doesn't seem

  825. to put up with them

  826. much at all

  827. he doesn't really seem

  828. to entertain their questions

  829. he's very forward with them

  830. he speaks boldly out

  831. against their sin

  832. it seems here

  833. that they as a group

  834. have made it evident

  835. that they never intend

  836. to leave the darkness

  837. and Jesus treats them

  838. as such

  839. as those who have

  840. spiritual influence

  841. over their communities

  842. he begins to call them out

  843. and tell them

  844. exactly who they are

  845. moving forward

  846. in the gospel of Mark

  847. he turns his attention

  848. away from the crowds

  849. he turns his attention

  850. away from redemption

  851. of Pharisees

  852. and Sadducees

  853. he begins to really

  854. pour his energy

  855. and his efforts

  856. into the apostles

  857. and he just

  858. doesn't hold back

  859. it seems up to this point

  860. some punches were held

  861. now he lets them fly

  862. there seems

  863. to be expressed here

  864. by the Pharisees

  865. a degree of unbelief

  866. with finality

  867. an unbelief with finality

  868. all of us

  869. didn't believe

  870. at one point

  871. none of us

  872. were born in belief

  873. we were all born in sin

  874. we had to believe

  875. at some point

  876. they seem here

  877. to express

  878. that they will never

  879. believe

  880. and Jesus then

  881. treats them

  882. as such

  883. now we move

  884. beyond them

  885. and we see them

  886. again

  887. hopping in a boat

  888. and moving

  889. they get back in a boat

  890. probably heading

  891. back again

  892. to the other side

  893. although

  894. they don't arrive

  895. right

  896. this story takes place

  897. in the boat

  898. and we see the

  899. apostles

  900. unbelief

  901. the poor

  902. pitiful

  903. apostles

  904. this group of men

  905. that's just

  906. confounding

  907. when you look at them

  908. on the surface

  909. and then when you

  910. actually begin to apply

  911. the way that they act

  912. and the way that they

  913. respond to your own heart

  914. you'll find that you're

  915. so much like

  916. these men

  917. and I am

  918. certainly

  919. much like

  920. these men

  921. they have now been

  922. with Jesus

  923. for approximately

  924. a year

  925. they have seen him

  926. do first hand

  927. accounts of him

  928. do just some

  929. incredible things

  930. healings

  931. in the thousands

  932. it was said

  933. that Jesus

  934. eradicated

  935. illness

  936. in the places

  937. that he went

  938. we just get

  939. some particular

  940. records of that

  941. all of these stories

  942. that are meant

  943. to point us

  944. to the reality

  945. of who he is

  946. but he healed

  947. far and wide

  948. remember they're

  949. on the sea of Galilee

  950. and there are

  951. ten foot waves

  952. coming

  953. and Jesus speaks

  954. and it's calmed

  955. he's done

  956. incredible things

  957. in their presence

  958. now for a year

  959. and they get into

  960. a conversation

  961. about bread

  962. they only brought

  963. one loaf

  964. with them

  965. in the boat

  966. and they're concerned

  967. about their

  968. hunger

  969. Jesus had just

  970. fed

  971. sixteen to twenty

  972. thousand

  973. as an approximation

  974. with seven loaves

  975. and here we have

  976. a group

  977. we don't know

  978. exactly the number

  979. in this case

  980. but a much

  981. much smaller group

  982. with one loaf

  983. and they're

  984. concerned

  985. about this

  986. oh we forgot

  987. to bring

  988. the bread

  989. and Jesus

  990. cautions them

  991. with an interesting

  992. statement

  993. watch out

  994. beware of the

  995. leaven of the

  996. Pharisees

  997. and the leaven

  998. of Herod

  999. now this

  1000. obviously the

  1001. encounter that

  1002. had just

  1003. happened

  1004. is still fresh

  1005. in Jesus' mind

  1006. should have been

  1007. fresh in theirs

  1008. as well

  1009. as he has

  1010. encountered

  1011. the Pharisees

  1012. and the Sadducees

  1013. in this question

  1014. that they

  1015. had

  1016. now leaven

  1017. if we're going

  1018. to beware

  1019. of something

  1020. leaven we must

  1021. understand

  1022. was

  1023. like yeast

  1024. was the thing

  1025. put in bread

  1026. to have it

  1027. rise

  1028. it was a bit

  1029. of bread

  1030. a bit of dough

  1031. from a previous

  1032. batch that had

  1033. yeast in it

  1034. and if you don't

  1035. know yeast

  1036. is a bacteria

  1037. that gives off

  1038. carbon dioxide

  1039. I think

  1040. I hope I'm getting

  1041. that right

  1042. and causes our

  1043. bread to rise

  1044. which makes

  1045. those little

  1046. air pockets

  1047. inside

  1048. our bread

  1049. I think I hear

  1050. whispering from

  1051. our chemistry

  1052. teacher

  1053. it doesn't

  1054. matter

  1055. this is what

  1056. happens to

  1057. bread

  1058. and they

  1059. in this day

  1060. they would

  1061. save a little

  1062. bit of dough

  1063. because they

  1064. didn't have

  1065. a little

  1066. yellow packet

  1067. of yeast

  1068. that they

  1069. could rip

  1070. off the top

  1071. and mix

  1072. in water

  1073. to add it

  1074. to the bread

  1075. so they

  1076. would save

  1077. a little

  1078. bit back

  1079. and they

  1080. would add

  1081. it to

  1082. the bread

  1083. so he's

  1084. been doing

  1085. miracles with

  1086. bread

  1087. he's been

  1088. talking a lot

  1089. about bread

  1090. he's saying

  1091. that he is

  1092. the bread

  1093. of life

  1094. and here he

  1095. says

  1096. watch out

  1097. beware

  1098. of the

  1099. leaven of

  1100. the Pharisees

  1101. and the

  1102. leaven of

  1103. Herod

  1104. now this

  1105. this idea

  1106. this metaphor

  1107. of leaven

  1108. is used

  1109. all throughout

  1110. the scriptures

  1111. used throughout

  1112. the Old Testament

  1113. as well

  1114. and it's most

  1115. commonly used

  1116. as a metaphor

  1117. for sin

  1118. not in every

  1119. case

  1120. it doesn't

  1121. unilaterally

  1122. represent sin

  1123. but it is

  1124. most commonly

  1125. used as a

  1126. metaphor for

  1127. sin

  1128. this is why

  1129. the Passover

  1130. feast

  1131. that you

  1132. celebrate

  1133. is done

  1134. with unleavened

  1135. bread

  1136. it's intentionally

  1137. meant to

  1138. represent that

  1139. in fact

  1140. we probably

  1141. more accurately

  1142. should have

  1143. unleavened bread

  1144. during the

  1145. Lord's Supper

  1146. it'd probably

  1147. be a better

  1148. picture

  1149. of that

  1150. we won't

  1151. be too

  1152. concerned

  1153. about it

  1154. the gluten

  1155. free stations

  1156. I think

  1157. a little

  1158. more holy

  1159. than the

  1160. other ones

  1161. because I

  1162. don't

  1163. I don't

  1164. think

  1165. there's

  1166. any yeast

  1167. in that

  1168. maybe there

  1169. is

  1170. I don't

  1171. know

  1172. Galatians 5

  1173. 7-9

  1174. Paul writes

  1175. to the

  1176. Galatian

  1177. church

  1178. which was

  1179. dealing

  1180. with

  1181. taking on

  1182. circumcision

  1183. they were

  1184. replacing

  1185. this gospel

  1186. of grace

  1187. with the

  1188. gospel

  1189. of works

  1190. and Paul

  1191. says to

  1192. them

  1193. you were

  1194. running

  1195. well

  1196. who hindered

  1197. you from

  1198. obeying

  1199. the truth

  1200. this

  1201. persuasion

  1202. is not

  1203. from him

  1204. who calls

  1205. you

  1206. being God

  1207. a little

  1208. leaven

  1209. leavens

  1210. the whole

  1211. lump

  1212. Matthew

  1213. 16-12

  1214. the same

  1215. account

  1216. that we're

  1217. studying

  1218. in Mark

  1219. it

  1220. ends

  1221. with

  1222. verse 12

  1223. then they

  1224. understood

  1225. that he

  1226. did not

  1227. tell them

  1228. to beware

  1229. the leaven

  1230. of bread

  1231. but of

  1232. the teaching

  1233. of the

  1234. Pharisees

  1235. and the

  1236. Sadducees

  1237. so he's

  1238. warning them

  1239. as they

  1240. are not

  1241. believing

  1242. that he

  1243. is who

  1244. he said

  1245. he is

  1246. that he

  1247. is the

  1248. son of

  1249. God

  1250. he's already

  1251. evidence

  1252. that he

  1253. can feed

  1254. them

  1255. to plenty

  1256. to overflowing

  1257. there's

  1258. way more

  1259. available

  1260. for them

  1261. right

  1262. he asks

  1263. them the

  1264. question

  1265. later on

  1266. does he

  1267. not

  1268. he says

  1269. how many

  1270. baskets

  1271. did we

  1272. have

  1273. left over

  1274. we had

  1275. twelve

  1276. this time

  1277. we had

  1278. seven

  1279. this time

  1280. don't you

  1281. think

  1282. I can

  1283. feed

  1284. you

  1285. right

  1286. don't

  1287. be

  1288. like the

  1289. Pharisees

  1290. and the

  1291. Sadducees

  1292. don't be

  1293. like

  1294. Herod

  1295. who was

  1296. afraid of

  1297. what people

  1298. would think

  1299. of him

  1300. so he

  1301. put John

  1302. the Baptist

  1303. to death

  1304. don't let

  1305. that

  1306. untruth

  1307. that unbelief

  1308. work in

  1309. you

  1310. because here

  1311. we see

  1312. these men

  1313. are still

  1314. apparently

  1315. in darkness

  1316. let's say

  1317. there's a

  1318. dawning light

  1319. they've

  1320. obeyed

  1321. they've

  1322. followed

  1323. they've

  1324. left things

  1325. behind

  1326. for Jesus

  1327. they've

  1328. seen

  1329. miraculous

  1330. things

  1331. happen

  1332. but yet

  1333. they still

  1334. respond

  1335. in these

  1336. bizarre

  1337. ways

  1338. Jesus

  1339. asked

  1340. them

  1341. scathing

  1342. questions

  1343. do you

  1344. not yet

  1345. perceive

  1346. or understand

  1347. are your

  1348. hearts

  1349. hardened

  1350. hardened

  1351. and I don't

  1352. think Jesus

  1353. asked these

  1354. questions

  1355. are your

  1356. hearts

  1357. hardened

  1358. but in

  1359. what is

  1360. wrong

  1361. with you

  1362. guys

  1363. have I

  1364. not

  1365. displayed

  1366. for you

  1367. the power

  1368. of God

  1369. have I

  1370. not shown

  1371. you

  1372. that I

  1373. am

  1374. the

  1375. Christ

  1376. and he

  1377. asked them

  1378. questions

  1379. that they

  1380. would know

  1381. the answer

  1382. to

  1383. how many

  1384. baskets full

  1385. of pieces

  1386. did you

  1387. take up

  1388. they said

  1389. twelve

  1390. and the

  1391. seven

  1392. for the

  1393. four thousand

  1394. how many

  1395. baskets full

  1396. of pieces

  1397. did you

  1398. take up

  1399. and they

  1400. said

  1401. seven

  1402. and he

  1403. says

  1404. do you

  1405. not yet

  1406. understand

  1407. now there

  1408. are a number

  1409. of again

  1410. quote unquote

  1411. scholars

  1412. that play

  1413. around with

  1414. the significance

  1415. of the

  1416. numbers of

  1417. baskets

  1418. twelve

  1419. times of

  1420. Israel

  1421. seven

  1422. represent

  1423. something

  1424. to the

  1425. Gentiles

  1426. I don't

  1427. remember

  1428. what it

  1429. was

  1430. but there's

  1431. absolutely

  1432. no way

  1433. to prove

  1434. that it

  1435. meant

  1436. anything

  1437. at all

  1438. and I

  1439. don't

  1440. think

  1441. it

  1442. means

  1443. anything

  1444. at all

  1445. for this

  1446. text

  1447. I

  1448. really

  1449. don't

  1450. think

  1451. that

  1452. Jesus

  1453. is

  1454. trying

  1455. to

  1456. teach

  1457. them

  1458. anything

  1459. other

  1460. than

  1461. I

  1462. provided

  1463. beyond

  1464. because

  1465. there

  1466. was

  1467. a

  1468. lot

  1469. left

  1470. over

  1471. to

  1472. them

  1473. abounding

  1474. provision

  1475. to

  1476. them

  1477. see

  1478. the

  1479. apostles

  1480. were

  1481. always

  1482. so

  1483. concerned

  1484. with

  1485. physical

  1486. things

  1487. physical

  1488. provision

  1489. as

  1490. they're

  1491. traveling

  1492. around

  1493. Jesus

  1494. was

  1495. primarily

  1496. concerned

  1497. with

  1498. the

  1499. spiritual

  1500. things

  1501. the

  1502. account

  1503. of

  1504. the

  1505. same

  1506. story

  1507. we

  1508. see

  1509. in

  1510. Matthew

  1511. prior

  1512. to

  1513. that

  1514. Jesus

  1515. preached

  1516. a

  1517. sermon

  1518. that

  1519. we

  1520. call

  1521. the

  1522. Sermon

  1523. on

  1524. the

  1525. mount

  1526. in

  1527. which

  1528. he

  1529. said

  1530. do

  1531. not

  1532. be

  1533. anxious

  1534. saying

  1535. what

  1536. shall

  1537. we

  1538. eat

  1539. or

  1540. what

  1541. shall

  1542. we

  1543. drink

  1544. or

  1545. what

  1546. shall

  1547. we

  1548. wear

  1549. for

  1550. the

  1551. Gentiles

  1552. again

  1553. meaning

  1554. those

  1555. outside

  1556. the

  1557. faith

  1558. seek

  1559. after

  1560. all

  1561. these

  1562. things

  1563. and

  1564. your

  1565. heavenly

  1566. father

  1567. knows

  1568. that

  1569. you

  1570. need

  1571. them

  1572. all

  1573. but

  1574. seek

  1575. first

  1576. the

  1577. kingdom

  1578. of

  1579. God

  1580. and

  1581. his

  1582. righteousness

  1583. seek

  1584. first

  1585. those

  1586. things

  1587. that

  1588. are

  1589. spiritual

  1590. those

  1591. things

  1592. that

  1593. matter

  1594. most

  1595. those

  1596. !

  1597. things

  1598. that

  1599. are

  1600. eternal

  1601. and

  1602. all

  1603. these

  1604. things

  1605. these

  1606. temporal

  1607. things

  1608. will be

  1609. added

  1610. to

  1611. you

  1612. do

  1613. you

  1614. not

  1615. yet

  1616. understand

  1617. and

  1618. it

  1619. hangs

  1620. there

  1621. for

  1622. us

  1623. today

  1624. at

  1625. very

  1626. least

  1627. I

  1628. hope

  1629. you

  1630. will

  1631. read

  1632. on

  1633. eagerly

  1634. waiting

  1635. for

  1636. Peter's

  1637. declaration

  1638. of

  1639. verse

  1640. 29

  1641. of

  1642. chapter

  1643. 8

  1644. you

  1645. are

  1646. the

  1647. Christ

  1648. as

  1649. the

  1650. spokesman

  1651. of

  1652. the

  1653. apostles

  1654. we

  1655. know

  1656. they

  1657. didn't

  1658. all

  1659. come

  1660. to

  1661. believe

  1662. in

  1663. him

  1664. Judas

  1665. betrayed

  1666. him

  1667. right

  1668. but

  1669. as

  1670. the

  1671. spokesperson

  1672. for

  1673. the

  1674. apostles

  1675. you

  1676. are

  1677. the

  1678. Christ

  1679. the

  1680. anointed

  1681. one

  1682. !

  1683. of

  1684. God

  1685. so

  1686. we

  1687. see

  1688. these

  1689. two

  1690. stories

  1691. really

  1692. of

  1693. unbelief

  1694. following

  1695. this

  1696. miracle

  1697. of

  1698. the

  1699. feeding

  1700. of

  1701. the

  1702. four

  1703. thousand

  1704. and

  1705. the

  1706. tying

  1707. together

  1708. of

  1709. all

  1710. that

  1711. with

  1712. Jesus

  1713. being

  1714. the

  1715. bread

  1716. of

  1717. life

  1718. the

  1719. source

  1720. of

  1721. sustenance

  1722. the

  1723. very

  1724. thing

  1725. that

  1726. sustains

  1727. us

  1728. to

  1729. the

  1730. end

  1731. as

  1732. well

  1733. as

  1734. the

  1735. one

  1736. who

  1737. provides

  1738. the

  1739. temporal

  1740. stuff

  1741. for

  1742. us

  1743. right

  1744. let's

  1745. go

  1746. hard

  1747. after

  1748. those

  1749. things

  1750. that

  1751. are

  1752. spiritual

  1753. !

  1754. the

  1755. temporal

  1756. will

  1757. come

  1758. along

  1759. beside

  1760. so

  1761. what is

  1762. the

  1763. application

  1764. of

  1765. this

  1766. text

  1767. well

  1768. if

  1769. you're

  1770. not

  1771. a

  1772. believer

  1773. if

  1774. you

  1775. don't

  1776. have

  1777. a

  1778. confidence

  1779. that

  1780. you

  1781. have

  1782. placed

  1783. your

  1784. faith

  1785. in

  1786. Christ

  1787. if

  1788. you

  1789. don't

  1790. have

  1791. evidence

  1792. of

  1793. the

  1794. spirit

  1795. working

  1796. in

  1797. you

  1798. to

  1799. bring

  1800. about

  1801. righteousness

  1802. to

  1803. hate

  1804. sin

  1805. to

  1806. love

  1807. the

  1808. ways

  1809. of

  1810. God

  1811. do

  1812. not

  1813. a

  1814. believer

  1815. do

  1816. not

  1817. be

  1818. like

  1819. the

  1820. Pharisees

  1821. and

  1822. the

  1823. Sadducees

  1824. do

  1825. not

  1826. wait

  1827. for

  1828. a

  1829. sign

  1830. from

  1831. heaven

  1832. it

  1833. has

  1834. been

  1835. given

  1836. to

  1837. you

  1838. do

  1839. not

  1840. be

  1841. like

  1842. Voltaire

  1843. the

  1844. French

  1845. man

  1846. that

  1847. did

  1848. not

  1849. believe

  1850. in

  1851. God

  1852. he

  1853. said

  1854. that

  1855. if

  1856. a

  1857. thousand

  1858. people

  1859. witnessed

  1860. a

  1861. miracle

  1862. he

  1863. would

  1864. be

  1865. more

  1866. likely

  1867. to

  1868. doubt

  1869. their

  1870. senses

  1871. than

  1872. to

  1873. believe

  1874. that

  1875. a

  1876. miracle

  1877. had

  1878. actually

  1879. happened

  1880. do

  1881. not

  1882. be

  1883. darkened

  1884. like

  1885. the

  1886. Pharisees

  1887. and

  1888. the

  1889. Sadducees

  1890. do

  1891. be

  1892. like

  1893. the

  1894. apostles

  1895. there

  1896. was at

  1897. least

  1898. a

  1899. dawning

  1900. light

  1901. here

  1902. in

  1903. their

  1904. story

  1905. they

  1906. still

  1907. got

  1908. into

  1909. the

  1910. boat

  1911. with

  1912. Jesus

  1913. they

  1914. weren't

  1915. his

  1916. enemy

  1917. at

  1918. this

  1919. point

  1920. they

  1921. weren't

  1922. seeking

  1923. his

  1924. death

  1925. as

  1926. the

  1927. Pharisees

  1928. and

  1929. the

  1930. Sadducees

  1931. were

  1932. and

  1933. finally

  1934. make

  1935. the

  1936. declaration

  1937. you

  1938. are

  1939. the

  1940. Christ

  1941. be

  1942. like

  1943. the

  1944. apostles

  1945. to

  1946. the

  1947. end

  1948. follow

  1949. him

  1950. wherever

  1951. he

  1952. takes

  1953. you

  1954. and

  1955. even

  1956. to

  1957. the

  1958. point

  1959. of

  1960. death

  1961. on

  1962. his

  1963. behalf

  1964. so

  1965. do

  1966. be

  1967. like

  1968. the

  1969. apostles

  1970. if

  1971. you

  1972. are

  1973. a

  1974. believer

  1975. hope

  1976. and

  1977. pray

  1978. that

  1979. everyone

  1980. in

  1981. this

  1982. room

  1983. is

  1984. can

  1985. say

  1986. that

  1987. with

  1988. confidence

  1989. see

  1990. evidence

  1991. in

  1992. their

  1993. life

  1994. of

  1995. that

  1996. you

  1997. have

  1998. the

  1999. light

  2000. you're

  2001. not

  2002. in

  2003. darkness

  2004. do

  2005. not

  2006. be

  2007. like

  2008. the

  2009. apostles

  2010. in

  2011. this

  2012. case

  2013. we

  2014. can

  2015. take

  2016. an

  2017. example

  2018. because

  2019. our

  2020. hearts

  2021. are

  2022. fickle

  2023. in

  2024. this

  2025. way

  2026. we

  2027. have

  2028. been

  2029. brought

  2030. into

  2031. the

  2032. light

  2033. we

  2034. have

  2035. had

  2036. hearts

  2037. made

  2038. new

  2039. we

  2040. are

  2041. different

  2042. now

  2043. in

  2044. status

  2045. we

  2046. are

  2047. no

  2048. longer

  2049. enemies

  2050. of

  2051. God

  2052. we

  2053. are

  2054. children

  2055. of

  2056. God

  2057. we

  2058. don't

  2059. differ

  2060. in

  2061. degree

  2062. but

  2063. in

  2064. type

  2065. we

  2066. are

  2067. new

  2068. creations

  2069. and

  2070. yet

  2071. we

  2072. so

  2073. often

  2074. don't

  2075. function

  2076. out

  2077. of

  2078. that

  2079. reality

  2080. I

  2081. am

  2082. a

  2083. child

  2084. of

  2085. God

  2086. how

  2087. then

  2088. should

  2089. I

  2090. live

  2091. in

  2092. response

  2093. to

  2094. that

  2095. reality

  2096. in

  2097. the

  2098. power

  2099. of

  2100. that

  2101. reality

  2102. but

  2103. we

  2104. drift

  2105. back

  2106. to

  2107. that

  2108. old

  2109. self

  2110. we

  2111. have

  2112. dark

  2113. corners

  2114. of

  2115. our

  2116. hearts

  2117. that

  2118. we

  2119. want

  2120. to

  2121. hide

  2122. away

  2123. and

  2124. not

  2125. expose

  2126. to

  2127. the

  2128. light

  2129. we

  2130. are

  2131. ashamed

  2132. by

  2133. our

  2134. flesh

  2135. there

  2136. are

  2137. so

  2138. many

  2139. things

  2140. that

  2141. we

  2142. need

  2143. to

  2144. improve

  2145. there

  2146. is

  2147. so

  2148. much

  2149. sin

  2150. that

  2151. we

  2152. need

  2153. to

  2154. cast

  2155. off

  2156. I

  2157. know

  2158. this

  2159. of

  2160. myself

  2161. I

  2162. know

  2163. this

  2164. of

  2165. you

  2166. we

  2167. have

  2168. so

  2169. far

  2170. to

  2171. go

  2172. and

  2173. in

  2174. that

  2175. shame

  2176. we

  2177. hide

  2178. away

  2179. we

  2180. keep

  2181. the

  2182. darkness

  2183. in

  2184. those

  2185. moments

  2186. it's

  2187. the

  2188. same

  2189. it's

  2190. unbelief

  2191. we

  2192. forget

  2193. the

  2194. gospel

  2195. we

  2196. forget

  2197. the

  2198. reality

  2199. of

  2200. it

  2201. if

  2202. you

  2203. hide

  2204. away

  2205. from

  2206. God

  2207. and

  2208. shame

  2209. for

  2210. dark

  2211. parts

  2212. of

  2213. who

  2214. you

  2215. are

  2216. you

  2217. forget

  2218. that

  2219. you

  2220. have

  2221. been

  2222. redeemed

  2223. in

  2224. Christ

  2225. it's

  2226. not

  2227. your

  2228. righteousness

  2229. it's

  2230. his

  2231. there

  2232. is

  2233. therefore

  2234. now

  2235. no

  2236. condemnation

  2237. for

  2238. those

  2239. who

  2240. are

  2241. in

  2242. Christ

  2243. song

  2244. that

  2245. we

  2246. sang

  2247. !

  2248. or

  2249. !

  2250. haven't

  2251. !

  2252. sang

  2253. it

  2254. at

  2255. some

  2256. point

  2257. this

  2258. morning

  2259. when

  2260. God

  2261. sees

  2262. us

  2263. he

  2264. sees

  2265. Christ

  2266. what

  2267. a

  2268. beautiful

  2269. truth

  2270. that

  2271. is

  2272. for

  2273. us

  2274. so

  2275. we

  2276. can

  2277. bring

  2278. it

  2279. all

  2280. out

  2281. into

  2282. the

  2283. open

  2284. and

  2285. let

  2286. the

  2287. light

  2288. expose

  2289. it

  2290. and

  2291. chase

  2292. it

  2293. away

  2294. Jesus

  2295. is

  2296. the

  2297. Son

  2298. of

  2299. God

  2300. and

  2301. he

  2302. was

  2303. given

  2304. on

  2305. our

  2306. behalf

  2307. this

  2308. is

  2309. where

  2310. we

  2311. operate

  2312. from

  2313. this

  2314. is

  2315. who

  2316. we

  2317. are

  2318. and

  2319. beloved

  2320. we need

  2321. to live

  2322. that

  2323. way

  2324. we

  2325. need

  2326. to

  2327. give

  2328. evidence

  2329. in

  2330. all

  2331. aspects

  2332. in

  2333. all

  2334. arenas

  2335. of

  2336. our

  2337. life

  2338. that

  2339. is

  2340. who

  2341. we

  2342. are

  2343. we

  2344. don't

  2345. need

  2346. to

  2347. put

  2348. it

  2349. into

  2350. a

  2351. segment

  2352. Sunday

  2353. is

  2354. my

  2355. holy

  2356. day

  2357. the

  2358. rest

  2359. of

  2360. the

  2361. week

  2362. I

  2363. go

  2364. off

  2365. to

  2366. work

  2367. everything

  2368. that

  2369. we

  2370. have

  2371. everything

  2372. that

  2373. we

  2374. are

  2375. should

  2376. be

  2377. permeated

  2378. by

  2379. the

  2380. reality

  2381. that

  2382. we

  2383. are

  2384. now

  2385. found

  2386. in

  2387. Christ

  2388. we

  2389. are

  2390. in

  2391. him

  2392. !

  2393. and

  2394. !

  2395. he

  2396. you

  2397. pay

  2398. attention

  2399. to

  2400. the

  2401. unbelief

  2402. ask

  2403. that

  2404. God

  2405. would

  2406. apply

  2407. it

  2408. to

  2409. your

  2410. own

  2411. heart

  2412. let's

  2413. pray

  2414. together
