  1. Our reading tonight is taken from the book of Galatians,

  2. Galatians chapter 1, and we're going to read.

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  3. Verses 1 through 12. You have her Bible, their turn

  4. to the police appointed for the reading Galatians 1 verses 1

    Galatians 1:1–12

  5. through 12. The words will also come up in

  6. the screen for all here on the internet, but we do encourage

  7. you, if you have your Bible Hound, they also turn to it.

  8. And not only see the words, but you can hear them as well.

  9. We've been using these. Verses and the first chapter of

  10. Galatians, as a springboard to expose certain false gospels.

  11. I'm already put three messages out there on our church website

  12. and YouTube channel. And I pray that you'll Avail

  13. yourself of that. And Share them with others and

  14. let's do your best to learn and may the Lord be our teacher and

  15. help her. Let's hear the word of God.

  16. Galatians chapter 1, a reading from verse 1.

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  17. Paul an apostle, not of man, neither by man, but by Jesus

  18. Christ. And God, the Father who raised

  19. him from the dead and all the Brethren, which are with me unto

  20. the churches of Goleta. Greece speak to you and peace

  21. from God, the father, and from our Lord, Jesus Christ who gave

  22. himself for our sins, that he might Deliver Us from this

  23. present, evil world, according to the will of God and our

  24. father to him, be glory forever. And ever.

  25. Amen. I Marvel that ye are so soon

  26. removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto

  27. another gospel, which is not another.

  28. But there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel

  29. of Christ, but though we or an angel from heaven, preach any

  30. other gospel unto you than that, which we have preached unto you

  31. let him be accursed as we said before.

  32. So, say I, now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you

  33. than that, ye have received, let him be accursed for do I now

  34. persuade men or God or do? I seek to please men for if If I

  35. yet, please, man, I should not be the servant of Christ.

  36. But I certify you Brethren that the gospel which was preached of

  37. me is not after man. For I neither received it of

  38. man. Neither was I taught it, but by

  39. the revelation of Jesus Christ, amen.

  40. To the Lord was stump of his own approval and blessing.

  41. That's reading off the holy scriptures. now my text tonight

  42. is found in Galatians, chapter 1 verses 3 to 5, and they want us

    Galatians 1:3–5

  43. to think this evening of discovering truth about the

  44. death of Christ. Now Paul's epistle to the

  45. Galatians is no one as an emergency Paso.

  46. In other words, it was written and he hissed.

  47. And if you look very carefully at your authorized version and

  48. just read through verses 1 through 25, you will discover.

  49. There's no full stops, the First full, stop as at the last word

  50. and verse 5, which is amen. There's Commerce, there's colons

  51. and their semicolons. And if you want to know what

  52. they're for. I urge you to do eat but of

  53. digging into English grammar, or maybe ask one of the teachers

  54. that are here. They'll give you the answer.

  55. I'm not fully sure. But I'm only going for what's in

  56. the book. It's as if Paul at Harley, took

  57. time to take breath. He's being rating so fast, you

  58. see, sadly, the church has not the plurality, not church, but

  59. the churches and the whole province of Goleta were being

  60. affected and impacted by certain false teachers, certain man had

  61. come into the church and they were adding to the gospel and

  62. they were saying it's great. You've got Jesus.

  63. Lord and Savior wonderful, but you know what?

  64. He's not really enough. You need something more simple

  65. faith in. Jesus Christ is not sufficient.

  66. We need to ask something. What are they going to add a

  67. strict observance of the law? Certain Jewish, rituals and

  68. ceremonies? And they were saying this is

  69. essential to Salvation, especially circumcision and the

  70. Apostle Paul. When he hears this, he's stoned,

  71. he's surprised to learn that the people of good Lord and You

  72. later, the born-again Believers were taken in was such a

  73. message. Look at verse 6.

  74. I Marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you

  75. into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel, and the word

  76. another their means something different from what we have

  77. preached and then he says in verse 7, which is not another,

  78. it's not the same. As we have preached, it's a

  79. legalistic gospel and I'm going to expose it in a thumbnail next

  80. week. That's what it was.

  81. But that's why it is different from uncomfort to the true

  82. gospel preached by the Apostle Paul Apostle.

  83. Paul was quickly aware and could understand how quickly and

  84. easily this false gospel message, could spray it and kill

  85. it. He knows it's like a poison

  86. affecting the whole body of Christ.

  87. He knows that the devil's at the back of it.

  88. He knows the devil's using on godly man.

  89. Like Pawns in his game of subtle day.

  90. He knows that it's a mixture of Truth and error.

  91. You think of it. You need Jesus, as Lord and

  92. Savior, but you need a little bit more, something out at

  93. something else and Paul knows that discernment is needed if

  94. they're going to understand the true gospel.

  95. The gospel of the free grace of God must be defended.

  96. No, of course not only in the first century that the gospel

  97. needs to be defended, but also, in the 21st century.

  98. There's a spiritual battle going on for the heart and soul of the

  99. Gospel of Jesus Christ. You know that tonight that the

  100. gospel never has been and never will be acceptable to Fallen

  101. sinful man. And because of those on

  102. Relentless attacks, it becomes necessary to constantly defend

  103. the gospel. The gospels heated by man.

  104. It always will be always has been.

  105. It is constantly being attacked by the minions of hell and it's

  106. possible, of course, to give loads of illustrations in the

  107. past. Present-day illustrations to

  108. that effect tonight even and Westminster parliament in the

  109. Scottish and Welsh and storm. And establish that we hear the

  110. cries of certain people who have raised their voices against the

  111. gospel and against Christ and the gospel is under attack.

  112. It's under attack from false preachers from Liberal

  113. theologians. It's under attack from Beavers

  114. your Monster eating tonight as preachers of the gospel and the

  115. pulpits of the land. I'm because of these attacks and

  116. the gospel, the Holy Spirit. And Paul heard was happening in

  117. the churches Goleta, put in the heart of Paul and his heart and

  118. mind to rate. What is really a stirring

  119. defense of the Gospel. Listen to me carefully.

  120. This is what someone has said. The great fundamentals of the

  121. Gospel have been hammered out in the anvils of controversy

  122. without this false teaching coming into the churches of

  123. Galena. They would have been no ladder

  124. to the churches and Galina. That's what it means.

  125. The great fundamentals of the Gospel of been hammered out on

  126. the Anvil of controversy. And of course, the book of

  127. Galatians sets forth. The very heart of the Gospel

  128. message. At its heart is the great

  129. doctrine of justification by faith alone.

  130. A fool free and forever justification.

  131. And that's at the very heart of the gospel.

  132. And Paul is setting forth in this letter, what the gospel is

  133. undone, so doing he has to include and sets forth.

  134. Why? The Lord Jesus Christ died on

  135. the tree? See people tell us today that

  136. it's unloving and unkind and it's nasty and harsh to defend

  137. the gospel. It's not Paul says, I'm sat for

  138. the defense of the Gospel of love for Christ.

  139. Paul was set for the defense of the Gospel.

  140. He knew what the gospel was. He knew what the gospel was.

  141. Not and out of love for Christ. Paul set forth his defense of

  142. the gospel and what was happening in Gilead.

  143. Grave damn to the core and there.

  144. Love for Christ, and the swords of man, Paul sought to present

  145. the gospel and exposed us false legalistic message that the

  146. judaizers were preaching in Goleta and as he did.

  147. So as he set forth, the heart of the gospel story.

  148. He entered just the death of Christ.

  149. She salvation is not by the law salvation is of the Lord and we

  150. want to ask the question tonight.

  151. Night, why did Christ die? Why did he come into the world

  152. in the first place? What was his goal?

  153. His mission as purpose. You see, it's summed up, in

  154. these words. Look at these words, Galatians

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  155. chapter 1, verses, three, four, and five Greece.

  156. Be to you and peace from God, the father, and from our Lord,

  157. Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins, that he might

  158. Deliver Us from this present, evil world, according to the

  159. will of God and our father to him, be glory forever and ever

  160. met. Now, as you think about the

  161. death of Christ. Here's the They want you to

  162. discover. So we're thinking tonight, on

  163. this tax, discovering the truth of the death of Christ.

  164. The first thing I want to teach you.

  165. Is this the spring of the death of Christ.

  166. Remember I said, this is all one sentence.

  167. Look at verse 3, grease be to you.

  168. And we'll pause there. Here's the spring of the death

  169. of Christ, the death of Christ as connected to on attributed,

  170. to the free grace of God. Notice.

  171. It's Greece. First Grace be to you.

  172. It's not peace and any salutation of Paul.

  173. It was never piece. First.

  174. It was always greedy. Asst piece always follows on

  175. from Greece, because Greece, is always first because God deals,

  176. with man on the pieces of Greece.

  177. And the spring of the death of Christ is connected to the grace

  178. of God in eternity past. And Eternity present.

  179. Someone has said, Greece is God's riches at Christ's

  180. expense, and that's good. But there's more to it Greece as

  181. the undeserved, unmerited, favor to criminals and lawbreakers.

  182. Somebody else's coined. This, that will free us what

  183. they thought was interesting Greece.

  184. Everything for nothing. Everything for nothing.

  185. You see the gospel is called the gospel of the grace of God.

  186. And in this chapter three times, the word Greece, as mentioned

  187. verse 3, grease be to You Verse 6.

  188. I Marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you

  189. into the grace of Christ unto another gospel.

  190. And then in verse 15, he announced the words, but when it

  191. pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called

  192. me by his Greece. You see.

  193. What's her? Number?

  194. Three is the number of witness in the Bible, a third of work of

  195. grease in the soul. Nobody can be saved.

  196. And here's the freeness of Greece.

  197. All that God doors. He dolls freely on the basis of

  198. Greece, God's not coerced young people.

  199. God's not pressed into act and do something.

  200. God works freely by his grace grease is marked by the freedom

  201. of the will of God. Only God is truth feet, freedom

  202. of Greece to act according to his.

  203. Well, we could talk tonight about the fullness of Greece and

  204. you see all that every sinner needs.

  205. God freely pervades in the gospel message, everything that

  206. is essential for salvation is bound up in the gospel.

  207. It comes to us in the gospel of the grace of God.

  208. You should think tonight of the matchless Greece.

  209. We sometimes sing Amazing Grace, how, sweet decide.

  210. Greece. To deal with and cover every one

  211. of our sins Greece. That brings us to the knowledge

  212. of God grace. That brings us into the state of

  213. peace with God. Unto know, the peace of God.

  214. There's the spring of the death of Christ.

  215. So when you think of the death of Christ in Good Friday.

  216. You think of God acting freely in Greece to give us his son.

  217. I want you to think also of the source of the death of Christ.

  218. If you look at our text that says in verse 4, according to

  219. the will of God and our father. You see, here's the real reason

  220. under root cause young people of the death of Christ and the

  221. cross. It just didn't happen by

  222. accident. It wasn't something willy-nilly.

  223. It's wasn't just something that just happened out of the blue at

  224. a certain point in history. No, it was according to the will

  225. of God and our father. See the death of Jesus Christ

  226. was not a mistake. Do you know that?

  227. There's preachers? Tell the congregation that they

  228. preached to every week that very thing, but the death of Christ

  229. was not a mistake. It was certainly not a

  230. miscarriage of human Justice. It was certainly not a mistake

  231. or a failure. No, it was all part of the well,

  232. and mind of God, and that from all eternity CeCe.

  233. Let's remember. Everything is according to the

  234. will of God. And our father, did you?

  235. And I deserve to be saved you, and I didn't deserve to be

  236. sieved. If we got our just deserts, from

  237. the hand of God. God could have just sleep in

  238. each of us and the lowest hell, no, man deserves or owns

  239. anything from God, and of God had treated us according to our

  240. sins deserve. He can adjust, we put us in hand

  241. because you and I deserve the Lost hail.

  242. We have no love for the Art, there's no spark of goodness in

  243. us. If you think of the order here

  244. grease and peace from God, our Father.

  245. And from the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at verse 4, it mentions and

  246. our father. You have to think of.

  247. Eternity, you've got to think of the really Covenant of

  248. redemption. You've got to think of an inter

  249. trinitarian relationship between Father and Son, and Holy Spirit,

  250. understand the Holy Spirit, guiding Paul superintending, the

  251. rating of these words. So here he is.

  252. And what does he mention? He mentions the father.

  253. Because the father always speaks of tenderness, always speaks of

  254. love, always speaks of Greece, always speaks of mercy and then

  255. Spate of our sinfulness tiered, in spite of the fact that were

  256. dead and send dark and in sin disease bison, totally bankrupt.

  257. Listen to what Paul says in the Book of Romans in Romans 3 and

  258. verse 10 as it is written there. Is none righteous.

  259. No, not one. There's none that understandeth.

  260. There is none that seeketh after God.

  261. They're all gone out of the way they are.

  262. Gather become unprofitable. There is none that doeth good.

  263. No, not one for Roman nuns. I remembered a new Castle when I

  264. was preaching there and one occasion, with the fifth

  265. Mission. There was a company of nuns can

  266. pass one day. And I must confess, I couldn't

  267. resist myself. And I started mentioning this

  268. portion of scripture. And I said, let me talk about

  269. the Roman lumps here and listen to what the Bible says.

  270. And I quote it those references, and I remember that day.

  271. Here's the will of God being revealed to us.

  272. There's none righteous. No, not one.

  273. There's none that understandeth. There is none that seeketh after

  274. God. They're all gone out of the way.

  275. There are together become unprofitable is none that doeth

  276. good. No, not one.

  277. And listen to verse 24 being justified, freely by his grace

  278. through the Redemption, that is in Christ Jesus.

  279. There's not one shred of goodness.

  280. And it's like, Joe we have to confess behold.

  281. I am Veil. I'm God hasn't saved us because

  282. there's any goodness. The truth is were devoid of any

  283. goodness godward. We have no ability in her power

  284. to render any goodness spiritually toward the lord.

  285. And the good news of the Gospel, is this?

  286. That at its source, it is bound up in the will of God.

  287. That's what I'm going to call. The fundamental framework

  288. through which God works. God works alone.

  289. According to his well and the death of Christ and the cross

  290. was according to the will of God and our father, and it was sad

  291. from all. Eternity, doesn't Revelation.

    Revelation 13:8

  292. 13:8. Talk about the lamb, slain from

  293. before. The foundation of the world.

  294. How is that possible? Them in the heart and mind of

  295. God was already for day and then plan.

  296. So there's the source that's another truth that we should

  297. discover. I want you to think thirdly.

  298. The sacrifice of the death of Christ.

  299. If you look at verse forward, it says, who gave himself for our

  300. sins, see good Freight. He's coming, would be thinking

  301. about it. We're thinking about the death

  302. of Christ and the cross. And as we think of the death of

  303. Christ on the cross, what would you be thinking of?

  304. As you think not only if the spring, the grace of God and the

  305. source according to God's well, but you think of the sacrifice

  306. of the death of Christ Christ? Actually, on the cross.

  307. What sort of sacrifice was it? Well, it was a voluntary

  308. sacrifice. It was a sacrifice above, any

  309. other sacrifice that you could think of it stands Head and

  310. Shoulders above every other sacrifice, It's a Wonderful

  311. unique. Matchless sacrifice think of

  312. these words, who gave himself, underlying the route of pruning

  313. himself. He didn't give an angel.

  314. He didn't send a cherub a seraphim.

  315. He didn't even send the Archangel Michael or Gabriel.

  316. You've got to think of us person here.

  317. Who has a well, we've got his name is already under just to

  318. us. We've been told in verse 3.

  319. Our Lord Jesus Christ. It's not strange that he should

  320. mention not in verse 3, our Lord Jesus Christ.

  321. There's his full title Lord, refers to Daddy, Jesus refers to

  322. his Humanity Christ. As his ministry, turned over

  323. there to the last chapter of Galatians.

  324. Look at chapter 6. And with me at Verse 18,

  325. Brethren the grace of our Lord. Jesus Christ.

  326. Be with your spirit. Oh, man.

  327. Do you see that there as you think of as person hears the

  328. neum that sent their just the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who's

  329. Alpha and Omega from the very beginning to the end.

  330. You've got this comprehensive title.

  331. And as I've said, you've got to focus on those, Danny his

  332. humanity and unders Ministry, all that.

  333. He had all that he is was involved in, not voluntary,

  334. sacrifice. His Incarnation.

  335. God was manifest In the Flesh, his virgin birth, and the

  336. fulness of time his sinless life.

  337. He kept the law of God perfectly.

  338. As we'll see in a moment, his atoning death.

  339. So from his Incarnation, his birth, his life, his death.

  340. All that he had, he gave himself to this one end and this one

  341. goal, his heart and soul was in it.

  342. His taint. His touch his life of

  343. intercession as weeping and guess amening, when he prayed

  344. openly and prayed profusely. Mmm.

  345. And so passionately, that his sweat was mingled with drops of

  346. blood when he prayed. He didn't offer crocodile tears.

  347. There were hot burning tears. In other words, his heart was

  348. and that he held nothing back. He was open.

  349. He was almost he was genuine. He was sincere.

  350. He voluntarily give himself. Right up to the Tama, give

  351. himself on the tree freely, cheerfully voluntarily and all

  352. that. He suffered.

  353. It's a voluntary sacrifice. Let me tell you something else.

  354. 24, carry a sacrifice. Notice the wording here who gave

  355. himself for our sins. It's not interesting arson.

  356. You've got to think of the substitute taking our place, but

  357. he wasn't just a substitute. He just didn't die in our stead.

  358. He became our sacrifice who gave himself for our sins.

  359. Do you know the on the cross? The Lord Jesus bore the

  360. condemnation of the broken law. If you look at John chapter 3

    John 3 chapter mention

  361. for a moment, it says in verse 18 these words and he that

  362. believeth on him is not condemned, but he that believeth

  363. not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name

  364. of the only begotten, Son of God every unbeliever tonight stands

  365. condemned already. They're guilty of the sin of

  366. unbelief. And of course, doesn't the Bible

  367. talk about unbelief in relation to the Book of Revelation, the

  368. great white Throne, judgment, Revelation, 21 and verse 8.

  369. It says, but the fearful And the unbelieving the abominable and

  370. murderers and whoremongers and Sorcerers and idolaters and all

  371. liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire

  372. and brimstone, which is the second death due to the first

  373. two that's mentioned the fearful the monitor woman boy or girl,

  374. who knows as well as the heads in their body, need to repent

  375. and receive Christ to be see him, but they don't because the

  376. fear of man brings a snare on the unbelievers.

  377. Hey, The roots and of unbelief as they are in their heart and

  378. mind. And here's the Lord, Jesus on

  379. the cross. And he come under the rod of

  380. that condemnation. He was treated as if he had

  381. transgressed himself and broken the law.

  382. He stood in the place of condemnation.

  383. He stood in the police of the lowest criminal over there and

  384. Mark, chapter 14, and in the verse 64, we come across these

    Mark 14 chapter mention

  385. words. I think it was interesting that

  386. There's testimony came from the lips of ungodly, man.

  387. This is what they said about Christ.

  388. Mark, 14 verse 64. You have heard the blasphemy

    Mark 14:64

  389. what Finke and they all condemned him to be guilty of

  390. death. Jesus Christ day does a

  391. condemned mom. They condemned him to be guilty

  392. of death and he was condemned for something that he didn't do.

  393. He died for something that we did.

  394. Harsh. And he took our sins and our

  395. sorrows. He made them as very own bore,

  396. the burden to Calvary suffered and died alone.

  397. He bore the condemnation of the ruined.

  398. Okay. I'll tell you something else

  399. before the curse of the Brooklyn law.

  400. What is sin? Sin is the transgression of the

  401. law because of transgression and sin, all men are under the curse

  402. of a. Holy God.

  403. Listen to The Book of Deuteronomy Deuteronomy 27:26.

    Deuteronomy 27:26

  404. Khurshid be, he that confirm of not all the words of this law to

  405. do them and all the people shall say, amen.

  406. And over there in the book of Galatians and Galatians chapter

    Galatians 3 chapter mention

  407. 3 and verse 13. We read Christ has redeemed us

  408. from the curse of the All they made a curse for us for it is

  409. written. Cursed is every one that hangeth
