  1. Now we're turning this morning in our Bibles to Second

    2 Thessalonians 2 chapter mention

  2. Thessalonians chapter 2. And we're going to read from

  3. verse 15 right through to 3:5. So 2nd Thessalonians 2:15 for

  4. those who have just joined us. Let's hear the word of the Lord.

  5. Reading, of course, from the authorized version. 2nd

  6. Thessalonians 2:15. Therefore brethren.

  7. Stand Fast and hold or Traditions, which you have been

  8. taught whether by word or are a pestle.

  9. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God even Our Father

  10. which of loved us and given us everlasting consolation and

  11. Good. Hope through Greece Comfort,

  12. your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work.

  13. Finally, Brethren pray for us that the word of the Lord may

  14. have free course, and be glorified even as it is with

  15. you, that ye may be delivered from unreasonable, and wicked.

  16. Man, for all men have not Faith, but the Lord is faithful.

  17. Who shall stablish? You and keep you from evil, and

  18. we have confidence in the Lord touching you.

  19. That ye both do and will do the things, which we command you and

  20. the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the

  21. patient wedding of Christ, a mammal of the Lord will stomp

  22. with his own approval. And blessing, this reading of

  23. his own precious and in fallible word, My text this morning has

  24. taken from 2nd Thessalonians and chapter 3 and verse one that

  25. reads. Finally Brethren pray for us

  26. that the word of the Lord by a free course, and be glorified

  27. even as it is with you. Now, I've entitled the theme for

  28. today, praying for the man on the message of the Gospel.

  29. This morning, I want to say Lord bless all the missionaries of

  30. the gospel and the message of the Cross.

  31. Now, it's lovely. Of course to hear the children.

  32. Pray their bedtime prayers. And when they often say their

  33. bedtime prayers, they often in their NSA, offers such prayers

  34. as God bless Mommy and God bless Daddy, and God bless John and

  35. Jimmy, and God bless Jian and And Judith, they name them.

  36. God bless the minister, God bless all the missionaries are

  37. met and I know your Swan derful and I believe that God hears the

  38. prayers of the children and these prayers that were going to

  39. call blanket prayers are okay. There may be short and specific

  40. individual requests but they are blanket prayers and they're

  41. asking God's blessing on these individuals on door.

  42. Groups of individuals. Now if you look at 2nd

  43. Thessalonians chapter 3, verses 1 and 2, the Paul is making

  44. what. I'm calling an overall blanket

  45. request. If you look at verse 1, he says

  46. finally Brethren pray for us and then he gives us three specific

  47. reasons that we can pray for the man and the message of the

  48. Gospel. One, pray that the word of the

  49. Lord may have free course to that.

  50. The word of the Lord, It would be glorified as it runs into the

  51. hearts and minds of men and women just like a dead in the

  52. hearts and lives of the Thessalonians 3, that the

  53. Thessalonians of the Lord's. People would stand strong in the

  54. spiritual battle that they would rely on God's faithfulness.

  55. Why for all man of not fear that you would be delivered from

  56. unreasonable and wicked man. Is he Paul knew that the

  57. born-again believer in thessalonica would Fierce

  58. opposition would in Fierce intense persecution.

  59. He was also fully aware of the presence and power of false

  60. teachers whose teaching was spiritually damaging the church.

  61. And so having exhorted them to stand firm, he directs them to

  62. focus on praying for the man of the Gospel.

  63. I'm for the message of the Cross these men need protection and

  64. help from these. Unreasonable and evil, man,

  65. unless I thought of this tax which could easily be another

  66. motto tax following on from last week, I want to open it up a

  67. little bit. I want to break it into

  68. component constituent parts and I want us to learn the following

  69. things. One there, a prayer request that

  70. his sincere look. The words, finally Brethren pray

  71. for us. The word finally means last of

  72. all, it can mean that, but it also can mean in addition to

  73. you, in other words, Paul is saying to I have said a lot of

  74. things, but here's another thing or here's one more thing,

  75. finally Brethren, you see, he's addressing those who are born

  76. again. Those who are genuinely

  77. converted to Christ, brothers and sisters.

  78. Sisters in the family of God, who have God as their Heavenly

  79. Father, you have Jesus Christ as their lord and savior who are in

  80. dwelt on Born Again by the Holy Spirit.

  81. And it's to these individuals that Paul makes this prayer

  82. request. And I believe this prayer

  83. request and sincerely meant Brethren pray for us.

  84. He repeated that if you look at first Thessalonians chapter 5

    1 Thessalonians 5:25

  85. verse 25, he says Thessalonians chapter 5, 25 Brethren pray for

  86. us. This is the second time he had

  87. this request and two years, the number of wetness, the Apostle

  88. Paul is asking for prayer for himself, us includes n But it

  89. includes the man with them Silas and timotheus and others.

  90. They're involved in the work of the Lord.

  91. They want you to notice the specifically he's requesting

  92. prayer. First of all, that's personal

  93. Brethren, pray for us. It includes himself.

  94. They Paul's a great mom. A man with tremendous ability

  95. and intellectual giant apar for leader.

  96. A man who knows the Lord man, who knows the book amount is

  97. gripped with the gospel amount of courage and tenacity, A Good

  98. Man 1. That's true and state hearted to

  99. the cause of Christ. Am I on of tremendous e,

  100. Holiness Vision energy. Amount of prayer and yet he

  101. knows in his heart that he cannot do without the prayers of

  102. others. To me, that's real and amazing.

  103. Paul is a real wonderful amazing man of God.

  104. And yet in humility and honesty, he asked others to pray for him.

  105. It's like he's saying, remember me in prayer.

  106. I don't believe it was a false humility.

  107. This man realizes that he needs personal help.

  108. He needs help off the Lord, he knows the Lord doesn't help him

  109. and intervene and bless them. Nall Paul that attempted to do

  110. all his efforts would be in vain.

  111. You see, it's the spirit that quickeneth.

  112. It's the spirit that gives life. And true godliness does not lie

  113. in a man's ability. True godliness is rooted in

  114. total, dependence on the Lord, and the spirit of the Lord to

  115. work on to bless. So, this is a very personal

  116. prayer. It's also a belief, a partial

  117. request. Notice the word, pray.

  118. He knows. The power of prayer Devane

  119. blessing and help. Only comes as we pray.

  120. Someone has rightly said we can do nothing without prayer.

  121. You see the Lord when he bless us and helps and ground

  122. sustenance. As we pray, he only blesses and

  123. helps and grunts assistance to us and direct proportion. in

  124. regard to True prayer even though the Apostle Paul was a

  125. great Apostle and even though the Thessalonians are just new

  126. converts Paul needed their prayers, he he didn't, As it

  127. were-- rest on toss gifts, he didn't rest and past successes.

  128. He knew that he had to depend on the lord to bless and the Lord

  129. bless through prayer. So this is a powerful request,

  130. isn't it? So sad.

  131. It's sinful. There's a lot of half-hearted

  132. praying today in relation to the work of God Believers.

  133. Sadly who pray and unbelief and they are forgotten, no prayer,

  134. no blessing, little prayer, little blessing, much prayer,

  135. much blood. That's what Andre Murray stood

  136. for and saith Africa, a great revivalist.

  137. You see the more we practice pray, the more God will bless.

  138. That's a Biblical principle. God's blessing and help only

  139. comes an answer to prayer. If I could use a Biblical

  140. illustration and second Kings, chapter 13, we read about King

    2 Kings 13 chapter mention

  141. Josh. Elisha, the prophet had come

  142. into his room. He told him to take his bow and

  143. his quiver of arroz. A talk to birthday arroz of the

  144. Lord's deliverance and he said to Joe eyes, the Lord is able to

  145. give and Grant, you total Victory and they have

  146. opportunity to express your belief in this total Victory and

  147. seized hold of the promise. I want you to shoot a number of

  148. arroz out your window. How many did you wash?

  149. Should you only shot three? He stopped at three.

  150. He should have emptied, the quiver of six or seven but he

  151. didn't know. We only Stopped at three.

  152. And what did King Joe eyes, get against the enemy.

  153. He got a partial Victory. Why did he only she'ii?

  154. Because he was only half hearted.

  155. He didn't fully believe in the need and the power of God

  156. himself. His heart was not fully in it,

  157. and he only received a partial Victory.

  158. And this year 2023, I won't miss self and I want you to learn the

  159. lesson that the more we pray, the more we will receive the

  160. Blessing of God's divine intervention and help.

  161. Rid of course and his Sovereign, Grace and Mercy.

  162. You see, we need to get a raise in God's ability.

  163. On God's suffering, on God's power on God's Authority.

  164. The prayer meeting. Is the PowerHouse of the church.

  165. We were talking at the week of prayer about the church

  166. gathering for prayer and the church that gathers for prayer

  167. is the True Church of Jesus Christ yet.

  168. So often when we gather for prayer or half-hearted We don't

  169. take the word of God. Seriously, we read these

  170. wonderful promises, but we don't take them seriously.

  171. We don't trust them sufficiently.

  172. And we engage in a little bit of her, we're like the children, a

  173. blanket prayer, Lord bless the missionaries.

  174. Lord bless the minister, Lord blessed, the church, Lord bless

  175. the families. Now that's good too.

  176. As far as it goes, but we need to go further and need to go

  177. deeper. We need to launch out into the

  178. deep though. This year and release into

  179. prayer and ReDiscover the power of Prayer.

  180. I'm going to read again a book written by am binds.

  181. That was lent to me by brother, Ryan.

  182. That's it, volumes bound, and one.

  183. That's a tremendous work on prayer and we need to

  184. ReDiscover, yes, there's a personal request to prayer, but

  185. there's also a powerful request, the word, pray.

  186. Or that we could understand that word.

  187. Praise our God, remission of our sins, ask for specific things

  188. yield ourselves to him because that's what the word pray means.

  189. Could I tell you something else as a practical aspect to this

  190. request? Have you think of the word

  191. brethren? Brethren, pray for us.

  192. Did Paul not pray for himself? Yes.

  193. The prayers of Paul are found in the Bible.

  194. One such wonderful prayer is Ephesians chapter 3 verses 14 to

    Ephesians 3:14–21

  195. 21. Encourage you to read it.

  196. Study it prayer for yourself, make it your own prayer, and

  197. that's what he once such prayer recorded of Paul in the Bible.

  198. So he didn't pray for himself, but twice, he makes this request

  199. brethren Pray for us. He's asking for the prayers of

  200. the people in thessalonica, and the people in thessalonica.

  201. He was in Corinth, they're just unique inverted, sugar ordinary

  202. Christians, new converts man, woman, young people, boys, and

  203. girls, and as if Paul is saying I'm dependent on you people, To

  204. pray for me. And as you pray, you'll share in

  205. my work. And you'll bring my burdens and

  206. needs before the Lord. And you remember my men astray

  207. as I go forth to spread the word of God.

  208. I'm teach the gospel. Is that not great encouragement?

  209. Ordinary prayers? Do you can't?

  210. The prayers of the children. The prayers of the young people,

  211. the prayers of the mummy and the kitchen at the sink or hanging

  212. out the washing. The prayers of the Liebherr in

  213. the field or in the factory. Lord bless me today in my

  214. family, Lord bless the house of God, the work of God.

  215. Is he your prayers? Too kind and I earnestly Cree of

  216. your prayers for me and my family.

  217. I'm the work of God. Here, we should treasure the

  218. prayers of one another. We should pray for one another

  219. and I attempt to do that on a Sunday morning, we've got the

  220. prayer of adoration And then just before the offering our

  221. after the offering we got the prayer of intercession including

  222. Thanksgiving for the offering and that's very important that

  223. we remember in the in nimes before the Lord.

  224. One after another, not just in a Wednesday night.

  225. But but in a Sunday morning as part of our worship service

  226. because the command of the scripture as Brethren, pray for

  227. us, Now, that's the prayer requests and see her notice.

  228. If you look at our text The Practical reasons that is

  229. significant and he gives three reasons.

  230. Here's the first reason that the word of the Lord may have free.

  231. Course, the word. That is a demonstrative.

  232. If he makes a request, here's the reason for the request, the

  233. chief reason, I'm notice. The reason that he gives It

  234. describes the gospel that the word of the Lord may have free

  235. course. Here's the specific special

  236. mater that he has in mind, the word of the Lord is a reference

  237. to the gospel. I want you to notice what it's

  238. called. The word of the Lord.

  239. What does that mean off the Lord?

  240. It means god is the author of the word.

  241. Coach the producer. The gospel comes from the lord.

  242. It's not a must message that Paul me it up.

  243. It's not a message that other man concoct it.

  244. Together is not something. A kind of books are eight of a

  245. university or eight of some particular Library.

  246. No, it's the word of the Lord, he's the author and the producer

  247. and the maker of that word. And in fact, he calls it in

  248. Romans chapter 1, the gospel of God because it originated with

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  249. him, the gospel didn't originate with mount.

  250. It's the gospel of God. If you also think about the word

  251. of the lord, it's not only the word of the Lord, but it's a

  252. word about the Lord. You see, this message, this word

  253. of the Lord centers, and God's Eternal son.

  254. The Eternal Lord Of Glory. Our Lord Jesus Christ.

  255. He came to Earth. Is Incarnation virgin birth, he

  256. took on him, human flesh. A real true Humanity.

  257. He was born in the fullness of time he lived a sinless life, he

  258. Dade an atoning death in the cross.

  259. Bearing the guilt and Punishment of all who would trust him as

  260. Lord. And Savior bearing, the guilt

  261. and punishment that our sins deserved he died.

  262. He shed his blood and we can come to God and the ground of

  263. the finished work, a substitutionary.

  264. Blood atonement Hebrews, 10 and 12 but this man after he had

  265. offered one, sacrifice for sins. Forever shot down in the right

  266. hand of God. And on the cross.

  267. As he shed his blog, he satisfied Devane Justice.

  268. Do you see him today as your profit the one to teach and tell

  269. you the way of Salvation? Do you see him as your priest?

  270. The one who offered a once and for all sacrifice in your

  271. behalf, the one who know lives in the power of an endless life,

  272. making intercession for you. Do you see him as your king?

  273. On the ground of the finish work.

  274. He now rules over us, he's a king of Greece.

  275. A king of glory, a king of Peace, a king of righteousness,

  276. the one who has power to subdue your enemies and as Prophet

  277. priest and King, God raised him from the dead.

  278. And, you know, lives in heaven and God's right hand in the

  279. Parvin endlessly. And one day is going to return

  280. to this earth and Rule and reign in glory.

  281. So, when Paul talks about the word of the Lord is talking to

  282. put the word about, The lord, it's about the Lord.

  283. Jesus Christ. The Gospel message centers and

  284. ham. And I'm saying this morning.

  285. This beware of substitutions, beware of counterfeits.

  286. Sometimes you'll get a knock on the door, you open it and it's

  287. two men there and they'll tell you, they're from the church of

  288. the Latter-Day scenes, or they'll put that was your

  289. through the door from the see him.

  290. Sooo cold Church. It might be notification about

  291. The Seventh-Day, Adventists move.

  292. Movement. It might even be about the

  293. Jehovah Witnesses. It might even be information

  294. about some new novel extreme Pentecostal church.

  295. That's emerging, the emerging churches, flourishing, Don't

  296. like this. Church will go down the road.

  297. We'll start a new church and then will claim that there's

  298. been a miracle. Some of these didn't realize

  299. from the dead. Somebody who's blamed as myth.

  300. The see that the theme of walked as in the days of Jesus, but you

  301. investigate it and then you discover what's not all about

  302. Christ. It's not christ-centered.

  303. And as you pray a bit more, you discover, well, it's nothing to

  304. do with the true gospel. It's not the word of the Lord,

  305. that's all about him. And him alone.

  306. You see the true gospel is not a perversion.

  307. You see, I hear today this called believe in Jesus and

  308. Jesus will make you healthy and Wealthy like a billionaire or a

  309. millionaire believe in Jesus and be baptized.

  310. As if baptism was the the Gateway into God's heaven.

  311. Believe in Jesus and other good works to that belief.

  312. It's a word about him and him alone exclusively.

  313. As the only grind of Salvation Acts, 4:12 says, neither is

  314. there salvation in any other? For there is no other name under

  315. Heaven, given among men whereby, we must be sieved.

  316. I'll tell you something else. It's a word for him.

  317. It's called the word idea. See that, that the word of the

  318. Lord, the word. That takes us back to God's

  319. eternity. God the father and God the son,

  320. and God, the Holy Ghost and The Trinity of their Parsons Before

  321. Time began before the word was me and entered into a confident,

  322. they agreed to Covenant. It's called The Covenant of

  323. redemption and part of that Covenant between Father Son and

  324. Holy Spirit involved promises that were made by the father.

  325. I'm the spirit to Christ as a reward for has his coming into

  326. the World. And his life of full obedience

  327. and companies and have full Redemption.

  328. And Christ was promised a people for his own inheritance of

  329. people who be with him in heaven, one day, where he is a

  330. people that would form the body of Christ, the bride of Christ,

  331. the household of fear, I want to ask this, are you one of his

  332. people? Well you the hope and assurance

  333. that one day, you'll be with Christ where he is and Heaven.

  334. Are you one of the brothers in Christ?

  335. Are you? One of the sisters?

  336. You see? This is all part of this.

  337. Meaning the word of the lord, it's a word of the lord.

  338. It's a word about the Lord, out of the word for the Lord.

  339. Notice not only the gospel describe but notice the gospel

  340. distributed. It says here in our text.

  341. The word of the Lord may have free.

  342. Course, what does that mean? I want you to think of a runner.

  343. And he's got an open road in front of him. and there's no

  344. obstacles, there's nothing to impede his progress, and it's as

  345. if the gospel Had good legs and it was running into hearts and

  346. Minds. Those are dead and send those

  347. that are darkened and send with no thought.

  348. Fear of God, those who are diseas'd in their factions,

  349. you've no real love for God. And you've got to think of the

  350. gospels, Robert progress in the first century.

  351. I'm not prayer that the gospel, the word of the Lord, May our

  352. free course, and be glorified. It was answered in.

  353. Paul's day, the whole of Asia heard, the word of the Lord, the

  354. whole of Asia was turned upside down. 94, Jesus Christ.

  355. But even in that day there was those who were banned on,

  356. impeding the gospel progress and even as the gospel was

  357. distributed and spread abroad, there was those rules up by the

  358. evil, one to oppose it. And what is true?

  359. Then is true Knight the 21st century we have plenty to impose

  360. and impede the gospel progress, let me illustrate.

  361. I want you to think of homes and carried off fathers and mothers.

  362. They say to the children in regard to some of this school.

  363. No sun disk, don't name the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in this

  364. house. They'll be no Bible here.

  365. You're not be going to the children.

  366. Now these are good parents by and large.

  367. They feed their children to close them, they educate them.

  368. As far as school is concerned filling their minds with

  369. information and they see to it that they have recreational

  370. activities yet loads of Don't Starve and depraved the children

  371. from hearing the Simplicity of the Gospel that Jesus loves

  372. them, that Jesus died to see if the new Jesus calls them to come

  373. unto him. So many Godless and heedless

  374. mommies and daddies and they visit that Godless listeners and

  375. that heedlessness upon the hearts and minds and lives of

  376. the children. I heard a story recently of a

  377. man of the house told us wife and children.

  378. They couldn't get to the house of God, but they were receiving

  379. CDs. They'd got a copy of the Bible.

  380. They got other literature to do. Bible studies that were

  381. listening online. This mom told him there'll be no

  382. religion, here. There'd be no Bibles or Jesus

  383. and the size is, he's a guilty man.

  384. What's he guilty of impeding, the progress of the Gospel to

  385. many young people and their teens Through school University,

  386. went to the work please. And and there's those I'll poke

  387. fun at them. You're a Christian, right?

  388. You can't be serious. Are you?

  389. You go to the free Presbyterian Church for sure?

  390. They're a bunch of bigots their narrow-minded.

  391. You need to be a bit more free-spirited you, you need to

  392. two ways up. And you see the fear of mine

  393. comes because the fear of man, brings a snare on peer pressure.

  394. I'm wanting to be popular in one thing to be part of a group and

  395. feeling a part of community. And and then they leave off with

  396. the word of God. And the Christ of God in the

  397. house of God, At what about University?

  398. Godless professors educated man intelligent man knew Gordon new

  399. grease about them. No gospel.

  400. And they urge you to read the philosophies of Plato and

  401. Aristotle and others, and they want you to take on their views

  402. and adopt their lifestyle, but they're not beasts in the word

  403. of God. They have a different worldview,

  404. even the modern philosophies and they're destroying the lives of

  405. Manning underworld, it's okay to go into a drink culture.

  406. Or a drug culture or or adopt a party, pleasure hedonistic

  407. lifestyle. But these young people, these

  408. young people souls are being destroyed and murdered at the

  409. hands of these Godless professors.

  410. What about professing Christians?

  411. With their lips. They say they love the Lord.

  412. They've asked him to be their lord and savior.

  413. Yet their life stage doesn't match up.

  414. They're Hypocrites in the eyes of many others and that's a big

  415. obstacle to some and if you love the Lord Jesus and that's love

  416. them and truth. Let's love them indeed.

  417. What a big man in the pulpit? You'll get Willy waffle, you'll

  418. get morality. You told to be good, but it's

  419. devoid of any call to repent of your sin.

  420. It's devoid of a call that remission of sin is necessary to

  421. enter Heaven on without the blood.

  422. There's no remission of sin and there's no call to Redemption on

  423. the ground of the savior's blood, unfaith and Christ, and a

  424. call to be born again. You're not going to hear that.

  425. It's Hobson from me and stream churches.

  426. And there's not a squeak about the Evils and elves of today.

  427. And yet the wonderful thing is this.

  428. God can open doors despite the obstacles.

  429. God can make a way where there isn't a way I think of Nepal

  430. 1960s, it was closed, radio Ministry key and I know there's

  431. 110, free Presbyterian, churches and Nepal.

  432. I think of Muslim countries like Iran and Iraq and Babel chirping

  433. distributed in those countries. Under their been read, their

  434. been studied unpeople of got converted from a Muslim

  435. background. You see the word of the Lord is

  436. not brined. The word of the Lord has free

  437. course, and those who attempt to hinder, the progress and Withers

  438. manly. And the devil is busy, and they

  439. put up barriers here and they are.

  440. And that times, yes, it feels impossible.

  441. But when it feels impossible, don't quit, don't give up what

  442. we do. Supplicate God's Throne be

  443. strong, be steadfast unmovable in the work of the Lord, pray on

  444. pray three, because people need to hear it.

  445. People need the Holy Ghost to work.

  446. People need the Holy Ghost to apply the word of truth.

  447. That they might be brought to faith in Christ.

  448. The gospel described, the gospel, distributed, the gospel

  449. dignified, notice the words and be glorified, it's not

  450. tremendous, you see as the gospel wrongs forth here and

  451. there, here's the character of The Gospel and brings honor and

  452. glory to the Lord. He's not only the god of pace

  453. from the god of Hope and the god of page, but he's the god of

  454. Truth and he's revealed his word.

  455. The Bible talks about the Glorious Gospel of our Lord, and

  456. Savior. Jesus Christ, listen to what

  457. Paul says, in Corinth, he says in.

  458. Second Corinthians, chapter 4 and the verse 4 listen to these

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  459. words in whom the God of this world, hath blinded the minds of

  460. them, which believe not lest the light of the Glorious gospel of

  461. Christ, is the image of God should shine unto them.

  462. That's what I'm talking about. Impeding this progress of the

  463. Gospel, blinding the minds of those that believe not and yet

  464. thus message as the Glorious gospel of grace.

  465. It Part of change part of transform lives.

  466. It was this message. It turned, the ancient world

  467. upside down. It was this message that Paul

  468. advised Tate us whenever he wrote and Titus Chapter 2 and

    Titus 2 chapter mention

  469. verse 10. He says not purloining, but

  470. showing all good Fidelity that they may Adorn.

  471. The doctrine of God, our savior in all things, adorning, the

  472. doctrine of God, adorning the gosh.

  473. People and that word adorned has to do with beautifying yourself.

  474. You think of a girl going to eat an idiot.

  475. What'd she do she purifies yourself?

  476. Think of a bride? Getting married or not wedding

  477. day. She beautifies herself puts on

  478. the best attire. Well that's what that word

  479. adorned means I'm going to do that with the gospel be

  480. beautified by the gospel Paul outs, even as it is with you.

  481. Notice thirdly and lastly for of got communion this morning, The

  482. powerful results that is special.

  483. He says here, if you look back at our taxed even as it is with

  484. you, do you understand that? Can you grasp out this morning,

  485. even as it is, With you, it's important because he was

  486. thinking about those investment, banker.

  487. He was thinking about the police.

  488. There's no - he was thinking about the people you Converse.

  489. And it was easy and thessalonica.

  490. The word of God had run into their hearts and Minds.

  491. These Thessalonians were adorning.

  492. The gospel. They had been beautified by the

  493. gospel. Their lives have been changed

  494. and transformed that. There was a difference 9, the

  495. Bible says, therefore, If any man be in Christ, he is a new

  496. creature, old things are passed away, and all things have become

  497. new and all things are of God. Now I've already told you Paul

  498. was in Corinth whenever he wrote to the church, that's asinine

  499. Anka and this is what he says in Acts chapter 18.

    Acts 18 chapter mention

  500. He says this about himself thinking of Corinth Acts,

    Acts 18:9

  501. chapter 18, verse 9 and 10 and with us we finally stay and

  502. speak the Lord to Paul in the Night by a vision.

  503. Be not afraid. But speak in, hold, not thy

  504. peace. For I am with thee and no man

  505. shall set a need to hurt the French.

  506. Much people in this city verse 11 and he continued there a year

  507. and six Months teaching the word of God among you.

  508. See, at that time, Paul wasn't discouraged.

  509. It was the night time. Paul was depressed.

  510. He was despairing. This is a city given over to

  511. idolatry. And what am I going to do you?

  512. Lord I feel like quitting. I want to leave this place.

  513. I want to go home and the Lord comes and the Lord tells them

  514. besides other things. I have much people in this city

  515. and he stayed 18 months, and he saw many converts and a great

  516. church that was raised up. What can I tell you that?

  517. He wrote to the Thessalonians before he wrote first and second

  518. Corinthians and I believe that the Lord answered the prayers of

  519. the Thessalonians, it was not a waste of time for Paul to pray.

  520. It was not a waste of time for Paul to encourage others to

  521. prayer because there was the powerful result that a special,

  522. even as it is with you, the word of God come to them.

  523. And here was part of the That word brethren, pray for us, and

  524. they gave themselves to prayer. And I say this, as we finished

  525. this morning, We can all do that.

  526. So if you're converted to Christ and you love the Lord Jesus,

  527. then you can pray at home, you can pray in the prayer meeting.

  528. We must pray. All we are praying people but we

  529. must pray on. We must pray up and all and

  530. don't give up. We must not slacken, do not

  531. think that your prayers are not needed.

  532. If I could say this morning as we finished Brethren, pray for

  533. us. What are you going to pray for

  534. this year for souls to be saved? Souls received last year?

  535. But we need sold. See if this year.

  536. We did you families brought and on these pews filter Again, we

  537. lost 10 individuals last year, we can't afford to lose 10

  538. board. This year, we need to attend to

  539. be brought in and more We need our own families.

  540. Converted pray for mine. Pray that the Lord will help us

  541. to be faithful to the blood in the book.

  542. Pray, the Lord will help in the children's ministry, the some

  543. disc of the children's ministry. And when you come into the house

  544. of God to pray, you know it's not complicated.

  545. Think of the children as we finish the blanket prayers, Lord

  546. bless the church, Lord bless the some of these God bless the

  547. Children's Mercy. Lord bless that family plaster,

  548. Sewell. That's what you need to pray.

  549. Specific individual prayers. That God would do this because

  550. much prayer results in much blessing.

  551. I pray this morning. That we will get a hold of this

  552. thought, under the Lord will encourage us as we go forward

  553. this year.
