  1. Thank you, brother. Can I turn to Isaiah chapter 53,

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  2. please? Isaiah chapter 53 And we're

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  3. going to read from the verse one and we'll read to the end of a

  4. chapter, Isaiah chapter 53. I have no doubt it will be a

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  5. familiar reading to most of you. Galloward here, but maybe you're

  6. hearing it for the first time. And this is one of the most

  7. blessed passages in the Word of God.

  8. Isaiah chapter 53, commencing our reading at the verse one.

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  9. And once again we have a question asked here.

  10. Questions were asked earlier on in the first of the gospel

  11. songs. Well, here are some more

  12. questions in the first verse. Who hath believed our report,

  13. and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

  14. For He shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root

  15. out of a dry ground. He hath no form nor comeliness

  16. in. When we shall see him, there is

  17. no beauty that we should desire him.

  18. He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and

  19. acquainted with grief. And we had, as it were, our

  20. faces from Him. He was despised, and we esteemed

  21. him not. Surely He hath borne our griefs,

  22. carried our sorrows. Yet we did esteem him stricken,

  23. smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our

  24. transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.

  25. The justice meant of our peace was upon him, and with His

  26. stripes we are healed. All we, like sheep, have gone

  27. astray. We have turned everyone to his

  28. own way, and the Lord hath led on him the iniquity of us all.

  29. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his

  30. mouth. He has brought us a lamb to the

  31. slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so we

  32. openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and

  33. from judgement. And who shall declare his

  34. generation? Or he was cut off out of the

  35. land of the living? For the transgression of my

  36. people was he stricken, and He made his grave with the wicked

  37. and with the rich in his death, because he had done no violence,

  38. neither was any deceit in his mouth, yet it pleased the Lord

  39. to bruise him. He hath put him to grief.

  40. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin.

  41. He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the

  42. pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

  43. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied

  44. by his knowledge. Shall my righteous servant

  45. justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities.

  46. Therefore will I divide him apportion with the great, and he

  47. shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he hath poured

  48. out his soul unto death, And he was numbered with the

  49. transgressors, and he bare the sin of many, and made

  50. intercession for the transgressors.

  51. Amen. Indeed, that God will bless the

  52. public reading of His word. Let's seek his face, please,

  53. just for a little moment in prayer.

  54. Our Heavenly Father, we rejoice in the gathering in this church

  55. tonight. The people have come together.

  56. We have come primarily to worship Thee, for Thou art God,

  57. and beside Thee there is no other.

  58. We have come also, Lord, because this meeting has been designated

  59. as a gospel meeting already, Lord, the gospel has been

  60. proclaimed and so on, and in the reading of Thy Word and I, they

  61. are has come. Blessed are for the preaching of

  62. the Word of God. What a burden, Lord, lies upon

  63. the preacher's heart tonight. What a great responsibility.

  64. But think of the apostle who was compelled to cry out and say,

  65. who is sufficient for these things?

  66. A necessity was laid upon him. Indeed.

  67. He said, Woe, woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.

  68. But we thank you for our our sufficiency is of God.

  69. We're not left in our own Lord for this matter.

  70. We can look to heaven for help. Bless, I word, each and every

  71. heart goered here. Thou knowest those who are yet

  72. unsaved. We want them to get saved.

  73. We want them to be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

  74. I mean, there's some among us, banks that cold of heart

  75. wandering away from the Lord, half in and half out as far as

  76. the world is concerned. Oh, we want to see them

  77. restored. And that there be among your

  78. people tonight a little reviving even in the midst of the years.

  79. Lord, in the midst of the years make known.

  80. Give me the power that I need in Jesus name, Amen, Amen.

  81. And to words of verse 6 that we want to look at tonight right

  82. there in the very heart of this chapter 53.

  83. It says all we like sheep have gone astray.

  84. We have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord have led

  85. on him the iniquity, the sin of us all.

  86. For anyone who is acquainted with their Bible both in the Old

  87. and in the New Testament, Isaiah chapter 53 is perhaps one of the

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  88. easiest passages to interpret. The Lord in our verse Here verse

  89. 6 is God the follower and the hymn the masculine were there in

  90. the same verse is a reference to God the Son.

  91. And our interpretation here is confirmed in Acts chapter 8 when

    Acts 8 chapter mention

  92. the New Testament where we read of a man called Philip the

  93. Evangelist. He met up with an Ethiopian man

  94. who was sitting in his chariot reading this very passage, this

  95. very passage. And Philip the Evangelist drew

  96. near and he took the initiative. He says, do you understand what

  97. you're reading? And the man says, well, really I

  98. don't, you know, I'm wondering here of whom is the prophet

  99. speaking? Is he speaking about himself or

  100. is he speaking about someone else?

  101. And the Bible says of Philip the Evangelist beginning at the same

  102. Scripture. He did what I'm going to do

  103. tonight. He preached on the hymn Jesus.

  104. We need to remember that it might not just been as clear at

  105. that time to the original writers.

  106. In first Peter chapter 1, the Bible talks about the prophets

    1 Peter 1 chapter mention

  107. enquiring diligently concerning this salvation.

  108. It would seem to indicate to us that they didn't have all the

  109. light that we would have. They.

  110. Maybe they were wondering of whom is this prophet speaking?

  111. But they testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the

  112. glory that should follow, and certainly Isaiah and his friends

  113. away back in those days, they had enough light in them to be

  114. saved. The Spirit of Christ was in

  115. them. But many of the details that we

  116. take for granted now that we are familiar with in our age was

  117. maybe at best somewhat hazy to them.

  118. There's a little hymn in her hymn book.

  119. It was written by Horatio, Horatio Bonner, Scottish

  120. Presbyterian minister, way back in the 19th century.

  121. And the second verse goes like this.

  122. It says, rejoice and be glad. There's sunshine at last.

  123. The clouds have departed and the shadows are past.

  124. Now that's not a little happy song in this sense, not a little

  125. song you might sing in a children's meeting.

  126. The sun is shining in the sky. Do da, do da de No, What he

  127. means is there is sunshine at last, The clouds, that is, and

  128. the shadows, the Old Testament shadows, the types and shadows,

  129. things that were hidden perhaps to the people wondering what did

  130. they mean? He says they're now gone and

  131. we've got the full light, the sunshine of the full revelation

  132. of Scripture. We are no longer looking at an

  133. incomplete jigsaw, but all the pieces that we need at this

  134. moment are in place. We have the full light of

  135. revelation and when we come to Isaiah chapter 53 written some

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  136. what was it 500 years, maybe 700 years, whatever there before the

  137. birth of Christ. We are now reading it in 2025 in

  138. the historical light of the cross of Calvary.

  139. Isaiah gave us a prophecy. The four Gospel writers,

  140. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John gave us the history.

  141. The rest of the New Testament gives us the theology or the

  142. light and the load, the application.

  143. And maybe you're saying as we gather here tonight, well, what

  144. does this tax mean to me? What benefit can I gain from

  145. this tax I'm putting to you tonight?

  146. I hope to prove to you that it should mean everything to you

  147. here. I say here, and your soul shall

  148. live. Isaiah chapter 53 and verse 6

    Isaiah 53 chapter mention

  149. deals with a fundamental problem.

  150. A fundamental problem. You say I have enough problems

  151. in my life. You might have, but here's a

  152. fundamental 1 and you need to attend to this one first.

  153. Let's look at the text. First of all, number one, with

  154. three points tonight. Number one, we have this

  155. problem, this fundamental problem, faithfully stated,

  156. faithfully stated. What is it?

  157. In a few simple words, it just says all we like sheep have gone

  158. astray. Back in Isaiah chapter 30 and

    Isaiah 30 chapter mention

  159. verse 10, as Isaiah, who wrote these words was ministering to

  160. the people, he was visited by a delegation and they tried to

  161. limit and to control his preaching.

  162. That's never a good thing, you know, unless the preacher's out

  163. of order. But Isaiah wasn't.

  164. He was speaking by the inspiration of the Spirit of God

  165. and back in chapter 30 and verse 10, this delegation of the great

  166. and the mighty, they came to him and they said, look, we're not

  167. trying to stop you from preaching.

  168. Well, you know what's common, don't you?

  169. After that, they always try and soften the blow.

  170. It's like when you go into the get your little Jag and down in

  171. the clinic. Well, don't then put that nice

  172. little bit of cotton wool on you and then rub the skin just that

  173. little bit. Well, you know what's coming

  174. after that. And that's what these men did.

  175. They're saying to them in the fact, look, we don't want the

  176. limit You're you're preaching, but there's always going to be a

  177. but here, isn't there prophecy. Preach on the US smooth thing,

  178. she can almost hear them say, can't you?

  179. The smooth things? Give us things that are

  180. palatable. Give us things that truths that

  181. are, yes, true, but they're not so upsetting.

  182. You've been laying it on thick and fast, Isaiah.

  183. Can you not ease back a little? But Isaiah didn't play their

  184. little game. If they wanted to heap to

  185. themselves, as the Bible says men in the last days will do,

  186. false teachers who would cater only for their lusts and for

  187. their itching ears. Then Isaiah says, men, you're

  188. going to have to look elsewhere. I cannot cater to your desires

  189. and your wants. You need to hear, Isaiah says,

  190. the things that I am preaching to you.

  191. And this problem, when it is faithfully stated, isn't

  192. palatable to the Sinner. It's not what he wants to hear.

  193. You know, taste has never been the bottom line in any court

  194. case. We don't swear.

  195. If we are called to go to court and we stand up in the witness

  196. box, we'll put our hand in the Bible.

  197. We might even hold it up. Or those who don't believe the

  198. Bible can bring their own religious book, or they can just

  199. put up their right hand there. It's an indication that they are

  200. swearing. It's a very solemn thing, of

  201. course, to swear to bring an oath, but we don't swear in a

  202. court case to provide what is tasty.

  203. We're not there to entertain the jury.

  204. We're not there to entertain the judge.

  205. No, we put our hand in God's Word and we swear to tell the

  206. truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

  207. And so it is when we come to preach the Word, we come to deal

  208. with a problem here. We must look at it fairly and

  209. squarely. It's not as a tasty tonight.

  210. That's not the issue. There's our men and our pulpit

  211. to cater for that, if that's what you want.

  212. But in a pulpit like this, we must deal with that which is

  213. written, the words of truth. Look at those words gone astray.

  214. This is the problem. All we, like sheep, have gone

  215. astray. And these words, of course, need

  216. a point of reference in order to have a fact.

  217. Because once you start to look at this, your first question,

  218. the logical question is going to be from what standard have we

  219. gone astray? From what path have we wondered

  220. if I make a, a, a spelling mistake as well as you and I, I

  221. write you a letter and you come back to me and say, well, you,

  222. you spelt that word wrong. Well, we're going to have to.

  223. I mean, I might say, well, fair enough, no big deal, is it?

  224. But supposing I was on a fighting form and I would say,

  225. well, no, I think you've got it wrong.

  226. Well, what will we do? We would head probably to the

  227. Oxford English Dictionary, wouldn't we?

  228. We would go to the great authority and we would see who

  229. had spelt it wrong. And here the matter relates to

  230. sin. The word, their inequities, is

  231. just another one of those myriad words for sin.

  232. And the point of reference is binding upon us all because when

  233. we step outside, first of all, the will of God, you step out of

  234. the will of God and you step into sin.

  235. And God in heaven, who sits on his throne of justice and

  236. holiness is the sole arbiter of what is good and what is bad.

  237. This is absolute truth. This is not something that is

  238. negotiable. I, I, I say to you tonight,

  239. ignore the chattering classes. Ask yourself, what does God, my

  240. Creator, my judge? What does God require of me?

  241. The will of God is clearly expressed in the law that bears

  242. his name. The law of God is summarily

  243. expressed in the 10 commandments, and those are very

  244. important things to be acquainted with.

  245. Here is the will of God. And if we stray like sheep from

  246. these commandments, then this is inequity, because the Bible says

  247. by the law is the knowledge of sin, because that's what sin is.

  248. It is a transgressing of the law of God.

  249. Now that word astray is a very expressive word, the Hebrew

  250. language in which it was originally written, this very

  251. expressive language. And we have the authorised

  252. Version, which is a very expressive version of this very

  253. expressive language, and it's translated elsewhere.

  254. This word astray is used over in Psalm 107, verse 4, concerning

    Psalms 107:4

  255. the children of Israel in the desert for 40 years.

  256. What did they do in the desert? They wandered.

  257. All we like sheep have wandered away.

  258. It's used over in second Kings chapter 21 and verse 9

    2 Kings 21 chapter mention

  259. concerning a wicked man called Manasseh and it says of Manasseh

  260. that he seduced the children of Israel to do wickedly.

  261. Our words are are used and again in this Old Testament that the

  262. word is translated elsewhere will not look at them all by the

  263. word erred, erred. It's translated by the word

  264. deceived. It's translated by the word

  265. dissembled. And there's not one of those

  266. words that you would wish upon yourself.

  267. You're setting out on a journey. You don't want to be wandering.

  268. You don't want to be deceived. You don't want to be dissembled,

  269. set in total disarray, because when you have a strange sheep,

  270. you have a lost sheep. And the famous parable that

  271. Jesus told the word in Matthew 18, of course, bringing us into

  272. the New Testament and Matthew 18 had talked about the sheep going

  273. astray. And Luke 15, the same parable,

  274. the word is that the sheep was lost, and it means to be lost

  275. from fellowship with God. Again, the language of Ephesians

  276. 4 and 18 concerning an unsaved man, he is alienated, alienated

  277. from God. He is alienated from God.

  278. He's alienated from the favour of God.

  279. He's out of kilter with God. The Bible says the wrath of a

  280. sin hating God lies heavy upon the Sinner.

  281. Sin is the just precursor of wrath.

  282. The soul that sinneth wanders heirs, is dissembled out of the

  283. way. The wages of sinner's death.

  284. You'll notice there that it's universal.

  285. We're still in our first point. It's universal in its scope.

  286. Who does it apply to? All.

  287. All. No exceptions.

  288. The only exception, of course, was Christ Himself, the sinless

  289. Son of God. But for the rest of us, born of

  290. a natural generation, we have all gone astray, every one of

  291. us. This is the problem here that is

  292. faithfully stated. But notice again, as we look at

  293. the passage #2 we have the problem here.

  294. Further studied. It goes a little deeper.

  295. He drills down a little bit more.

  296. It says all we like sheep have gone astray.

  297. Notice the middle part. We have turned everyone to his

  298. own way. We ask the question, who is

  299. responsible for the spiritual lostness?

  300. We've always got to put the blame, don't we?

  301. Somewhere. And we start to dig a little

  302. deeper here. Well, how did this happen?

  303. Who's to blame for this? Where does the buck stop?

  304. As one of the old American presidents, he put it on his

  305. desk. The bus, the the book.

  306. The book stops here. Where does it stop in this

  307. matter? Can we blame our first follower,

  308. Adam? You see, we're all related

  309. tonight. You're my relatives because if

  310. you trace your family tree back and I trace my family tree back,

  311. we're going to go back probably through job path.

  312. I'd imagine being all on this side of the world.

  313. We're going to go back the Adam and our first foer sinned

  314. against God, and he must spare part of the blame for what is

  315. happening today, because it says by one man, by Adam, sin entered

  316. into the world, He opened the door, he let it in, and death

  317. has passed upon all men. Can we blame our fower, Adam?

  318. Yes, to a point. Can we blame the devil, the

  319. devil's, the tempter, the seducer, The seducer?

  320. We've used that word already. Yes, to a point.

  321. Because he has blinded the minds of them that believe not.

  322. Can we blame our words? Yes, to a point.

  323. Wicked man, it says in Jeremiah 32 caused Judah to sin.

  324. And maybe we can start looking for a scapegoat tonight.

  325. We look in our family. You say all of you only knew the

  326. family on which I grew up in or maybe we can look to our friends

  327. and said I fell in with the wrong company.

  328. These were boys I went to school with.

  329. I ran around with them. If I hadn't had them, I would

  330. have been so lonely on me own and they they led me in the sin

  331. We can blame maybe even government policies and send

  332. they're pumping us stuff out others morning, noon and night

  333. and it's had an influence upon me in educational trends.

  334. These are all small points. Tonight, they're all small

  335. points. They're like those little fig

  336. leaves sewn together to cover the nakedness of sending Adam

  337. and sitting even sent as sinning Eve.

  338. Because our text very firmly and very justly puts the blame where

  339. it squarely belongs. You can bring all these other

  340. things into play if you want. Don't forget, other people face

  341. that as well. The Bible says we have turned

  342. everyone to our own way. What we did, we did willingly.

  343. Our wills are sinfully perverse. They're free.

  344. Yes. Do you believe in the free will

  345. of man? Yes.

  346. In this sense, we call it the free agency of man.

  347. We're not puppets, we're not puppets, we're not being moved

  348. around, we're not blocks of wood, we're not ottomans.

  349. So we're free, but at the same time and in a different

  350. relationship, we're also bound. We're bound in sin.

  351. That man that commits sin, the Bible says, is the servant, or

  352. as it can be translated as a stronger translated, the slave

  353. of sin. And man is a willing slave.

  354. He sells himself in the spiritual slavery.

  355. He is a rebel and a willing rebel.

  356. And it's that that makes us fully accountable and therefore

  357. justly punishable for our sins. The Lord stops in and he says

  358. you did what you did freely. You did what you did because you

  359. wanted to do it. You love the darkness rather

  360. than the light because your deeds are evil.

  361. When Adam sinned in the garden, he had thought he could hide.

  362. Big garden, big trees got a way out of sight of the Lord's, we

  363. thought. And God just came into the

  364. garden. And he says Adam where art I

  365. where art I. Of course, it was God's business

  366. to summons Adam to appear. Things were never going to be

  367. the same again. The fellowship was broken.

  368. He was out of kilter with God. He was now an enemy of God and

  369. God summoned him and Adam stepped out from behind the tree

  370. with his little fig leaves and was answerable to God.

  371. You remember Cain, it was Adam's son, his first born son, and he

  372. wasn't in the garden. He, the Bible says he's in the

  373. field with Abel, his brother. Abel's a righteous man.

  374. Abel loves the Lord. He's a converted Sinner.

  375. Cain is a wicked person and they have a little.

  376. It says they talked in the field.

  377. I have to dig deeper into that someday.

  378. I would say they argued in the field.

  379. I can see Abel. They're arguing for the blood

  380. theology. You've got to come key in the

  381. way of the blood. I came by the lamb.

  382. I was accepted with God. You brought the fruit of the

  383. ground. Yes, it looks so pretty, your

  384. little flowers and your little vegetables, but God rejected

  385. them. Why not come God's way?

  386. And old Cain, the wicked, carnal, ratchet Cain rose up.

  387. And you know what he did? He slew his brother.

  388. And then God says to him, Cain, what hast thou done?

  389. It's not that God didn't know, but he's dragging the confession

  390. of guilt out of the mouth of Cain and going a lot further

  391. than a sinning flower had ever done.

  392. Because the case gets worse and worse and worse.

  393. Cain checked God, he tried to deny his responsibility.

  394. He says, am I my brother's keeper?

  395. I really have to give an account.

  396. And you know, that's the great mistake which people make.

  397. We try and plead that we are innocent and the Bible says we

  398. are guilty. There's a tendency today, it's

  399. the problem of the age, to view our sins using the wrong set of

  400. lands. And that's why and that's how

  401. and that's when we go astray. There is a way that seemeth

  402. right onto a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of death.

  403. Man allows himself to be LED astray by his own wicked and

  404. deceitful heart. Jeremiah 17 verse 9 is a

    Jeremiah 17:9

  405. fundamental verse. Never get away from at the heart

  406. of man. Deceitful, deceitful, above all

  407. things, desperately wicked. Who can know it?

  408. That's why the Bible says that that man who trusts in his own

  409. heart is a fool because he's trusting in a heart that is

  410. deceitful. A deceitful heart was like a

  411. deceitful friend. Many a man went into business

  412. with a partner. He felt he could trust that man.

  413. He felt they could do business together and the partner in

  414. business was thieving money off him.

  415. He was safe in a little way. He was presenting one set of

  416. books when he had another. And the man says, I was

  417. deceived. I never thought, well, the

  418. deceiver is in your own heart. Heart of man by nature is wicked

  419. above all things, desperately wicked.

  420. The question, the challenges are, who can know it?

  421. Who can Plumb the depths of the wickedness of his own heart?

  422. And that's why the Word of God is necessary.

  423. When you have the Word of God as your guide, you're thinking

  424. straight. You're going to see things as

  425. they really are. Let me tell you what the Bible

  426. says about your way. It's a hard way.

  427. You want to throw the Bible aside, say it's not for me.

  428. It's a hard way. The way of the transgressor is

  429. hard. That's what the book says.

  430. It is a hopeless way. Oh, you say, but I am on the

  431. side in the majority. There's many in my Rd.

  432. Yes, it's called the Broad Rd. There's a name on it that's

  433. called the Broad Rd. Where does it lead?

  434. Leads to destruction. It's a hopeless Rd.

  435. The problem further studied. Thirdly and lastly, here we have

  436. the problem finally solved, the problem finally solved.

  437. It's a human problem, but it has a supernatural answer.

  438. It's not resolved to do better. And somebody taking you aside

  439. and says, son, you know you need to pull up your socks.

  440. That used to be the phrase one to pull up your socks.

  441. You need to catch yourself on. It's not somebody taking you

  442. aside and saying nothing. Let me let me show you here how

  443. how you can deliver yourself. It's not clean up your life.

  444. It's not men broken fences. That's here in our text.

  445. Even though all we like sheep have gone astray, we're lost.

  446. We have turned everyone to our own way.

  447. We are responsible for our own condition.

  448. Here's a message of the gospel the Lord laid on him, the Lord

  449. Jesus, the iniquity of us all. And in one stroke it recognises

  450. how sinful, how guilty and how hopeless we are.

  451. And if you haven't had that realisation yet, that hasn't

  452. come home to your heart by the conviction of the Spirit of God,

  453. then then it's highly unlikely that this great Calvary truth

  454. will benefit you that much. Because the Bible says it's not

  455. those that are whole, that is healthy who need the physician.

  456. Not that any of us are, but many people think, well, there's

  457. nothing wrong with me. This gospel that you preach,

  458. take it to the slums, take it to the where the drug addicts are.

  459. Take it to the, the pubs when they're, they're falling out,

  460. getting out and tripping over. And they, they're, they're

  461. hooked. And they say, but it's not for

  462. somebody upright like me. Well, if you think like that,

  463. you don't need the physician. But it's the sick, the people

  464. who realise their lost estate. It's not the healthy Jesus came

  465. to call. Not the righteous, not the

  466. righteous, but sinners Jesus will receive.

  467. The only physician who can heal your sin sick soul is the very

  468. God whom you spend your life rebelling against, not an

  469. ignorance. God is not an ignorance of who

  470. you are. He is not an ignorance of what

  471. you have done. You may think, no, I saw you,

  472. but with full knowledge. But He knows the end from the

  473. beginning. With full knowledge, the Father

  474. sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

  475. The Good Shepherd came, and what did the Good Shepherd do?

  476. He laid down his life for the sheep.

  477. God the Father LED on him the iniquity of us all.

  478. He sent them to the cross as our sin bearer and our great sin

  479. bearer. The Good Shepherd came and He

  480. went willingly to the cross. He went like the Lamb to the

  481. slaughter. The sheep before her heirs was

  482. done. He opened not his mouth.

  483. The old hymn writer says he could have called 10,000 angels

  484. to destroy the world and set him free, but he didn't do it.

  485. They came for him and there's the disciples with them.

  486. Peter grabs the sword. He's going.

  487. Peter's going to fight. Peter's going to go down dying.

  488. Peter has already said all men forsake yell, not forsake you.

  489. Peter's wheedling the sword around like a madman and our

  490. Lord's still in control and he says let these ones go, let

  491. these men go, let these sheep go because it says in the book,

  492. you're going to smite the shepherd.

  493. The Good Shepherd gave us life for the sheep and they're in the

  494. Calvary Centre cross. And that emblem of suffering and

  495. shame, Christ bore our guilt. He was wounded.

  496. It was our transgressions, He was bruised, It was our

  497. iniquities. The chastisement of our peace

  498. was led on Him by His stripes. Our we heedy bore our guilt.

  499. He took my sins and my sorrows, and He made them His very own.

  500. He bore the burden to Calvary. He suffered and he died alone.

  501. He silenced in that. He satisfied the just demands of

  502. the divine law, the laws clamouring rightly for our

  503. destruction. Jesus silenced the law because

  504. he said, let all the wrath fall in me.

  505. That's why he cried, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

  506. Because the wrath of a sin hating God was poured out in him

  507. and he's secured. I don't believe he only

  508. provided. That's true, but it doesn't go

  509. the whole way. Let's go the whole way tonight.

  510. He's secured salvation for his people.

  511. That's why he cried it as finished.

  512. The lost sheep was out in the mountains, wild and bare.

  513. The Good Shepherd went out to look for it.

  514. The parable that Jesus told. How long did he look?

  515. Till we find it? Till we find it?

  516. And he's looking for you tonight, Lost sheep.

  517. Do you not hear his call? He's Westerling, as it were, for

  518. you. He, he, he's shouting for you.

  519. He wants you to hear his voice. He wants you to respond to his

  520. message. You need to be saved.

  521. Your excuses don't work when you make an excuse for your sin.

  522. You're only multiplying your sin.

  523. You're only adding another sin to this great mountain debt that

  524. you have. The Bible tells you what you

  525. need to do. You need to repent and believe

  526. the gospel. That was the message of John the

  527. Baptist. Very simple, very plain, very

  528. understandable. Repent.

  529. That means do AU turn, because if you're on the wrong Rd, you

  530. need to do AU term. You need to get back round into

  531. the right way. Repent and believe the gospel.

  532. Call in the name of the Lord. The book is very clear in this

  533. matter. All the simplicity of it all,

  534. the wonder of it all. Whosoever that covers the all

  535. who have sinned, whosoever shall call in the name of the Lord,

  536. shall be saved. You can go home rejoicing

  537. tonight that your sins have been forgiven, this great problem

  538. finally solved and solved for eternity.

  539. If you come as a Sinner to Jesus, May God draw you and

  540. bring you to Himself.
