Mission 25 - The Assurance of God's Unfailing Welcome

Well, we. That was a blessing, wasn't it?

Was the place. Wish I could sing like that, but

that was a real blessing. May the Lord keep us near the

cross. And if you're all converted

tonight, well, I want to tell you that's the place we want to

get you to, for that's the place you need.

You need to come and put your faith and trust in the Lord

Jesus Christ. We're singing earlier on at the

start of the meeting. I believe Jesus saves and his

blood was just waiter on the snow.

And if you're all converted, well, that's the place that you

need to come to and you need to come to the Lord Jesus Christ.

So thank you very much for coming along tonight to support

us here. This is actually my last night

in the mission because I have other engagements on Sunday away

in Oma. And so Carl will be coming along

to to bring an end to the mission.

So I really enjoyed it here. We're bringing no doubt.

Thanks for everybody. Thank you very much, Mr Mcglock

and decision of having us here at this particular time and all

your support as well. And it's really encouraging for

the preachers when people come along and to hear the preaching

of the gospel. Now we're going to turn in

John's Gospel Chapter 6 and I going to put this week speaker

on me. John's Gospel is well known to

all. Of us.

And the chapter 6, we'll just take time to read our verse.

Time is going on, which it will be bit tonight, but so John's

Gospel. Chapter 6.

Wonderful words. Of the Lord Jesus Christ here in

verse 37 and he says. All that the Father giveth me

shall come to me. And him that cometh to me I

will. And no wise cast out.

We have here the assurance of God's unfailing welcome, because

the Lord. Jesus, said him that cometh unto

me, I will. And no wise I will no wise cast

out. So let's look to the Lord for

his help here tonight. Father in heaven, we thank you

for the blessing of being here already.

We thank you for our sister's ministry and song.

We thank you Lord, even in Psalm tonight we have been to the

cross. Jesus, keep me near the cross.

Keep this congregation near the cross.

And if there's anyone here tonight and.

Are far away. From the cross of Christ, if

never come to Thee, we pray tonight they will come and put

their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus.

I need your help. I pray for help around the word

of God and bless the word of God tonight Lord, I pray to the

salvation of souls in Jesus name, Amen.

Amen. I'm sure.

You have a favourite verse of the Bible.

I'm not going to ask you put your.

Hand up and ask you for that verse.

I'm not going to. Ask you tonight to to shout it

out. What are tremendous verses in

the Bible and they are favourite verses of people?

This particular. Verse in John 6.

Verse 37 was. A favourite verse of a man that

you've heard of a pastor, John Bunyan.

Now he was born in November 1620.

Eight in a little. Village of Batford, like many

parents of his day, they were in poverty.

But I don't know how they did it.

But he said himself, it pleased God to put it into their hearts

to put me to school, to learn me both to read and write.

So the parents said, hold on, we're in poverty.

We've got to make sure. We've got to make sure that he

learns to read and write. Well, my children were growing

up. They were like myself, some of

the boys that weren't interested in school.

I should tell you what, boys. Learn to read and write and

count. OK, you see that other stuff?

Don't worry. Anything about it you learn how

to read, to write and to count. And so John Bunyan, off the

school he went. But he tells us, even as a

young. Fella, there were.

Very few people his equal for cursing and swearing and lying

and blaspheming the holy name of God.

Even as a young person you do not, I said tonight, you do not

have to be old to sin. Even as a young fellow, there's

hardly anyone, he says, his equal.

As he lied and blasphemed. And swore.

And he cursed God. Well, for all of that.

God dealt with him, and this man became.

Greatly troubled about his sin, and he had terrible thoughts.

He had terrible thoughts about hell and he had terrible

thoughts about the fire of hell. Some people say, oh, don't

mention hell, don't preach hell. Read the Bible.

You'll read about the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was a hell fire preacher. Well, this young man growing up,

now he's getting older, he came under great conviction of sin

and he'll hold on a man in the sight of a holy God.

I know where I'm going to. I'm going to go to hell.

And he was worried. He was really troubled.

Is there anybody tonight in the meeting troubled?

Is there 1 troubled in this meeting?

We sing at Hymns Centre How thy heart is troubled.

Shall I want? That I hope there is hope.

There's more. He was troubled, of course.

He gets married and all of these things and he's going about life

and he's playing games and it's recorded as he was playing the

game and it was called cat, whatever that.

Entailed. I'm not really.

Sure. And as he was playing this game,

a voice that suddenly endured from having into my soul was

said, Wilt thy leave thy sins and go to heaven, or have thy

sins and go to hell? It's just as if a voice came

down from heaven. What are you going to do, John?

Bunyan, are you going? To leave your sins and you'll go

to heaven. Are you going?

To keep your sins, have your sins and go to hell.

Well, if he was. Troubled beforehand things.

Are worse he even. Looked in the animals, he says.

He looked in the animals and he even envied the animals because

they were not troubled. They're right in the feet of the

cows and all the rest were eating their grass and going

about. They didn't seem to have a cure

in the world. And he was a burden and.

He was a troubled man. How can I be saved?

How can I get rid of this burden?

How can I get right with God? These things were pressing in on

his heart and they were pressing in his life and and so he was in

Batford and he came across some ladies and this particular verse

came to him one day and him the cometh all to me.

I will in no wise cast out. And he says, Ohh, what did I see

in that blessed 6th of John? O the comfort that I had from

this word, Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out.

Here's what I've got to do. He says Here's the only thing

I've got to do. I've got to come to Jesus, am I

right? I've got to come to Jesus,

filthy, dirty, guilty. I've got to come to him.

And if I come to him, he and that kills me out that

wonderful. I want to tell you he came and

the Lord took him in. And if you come tonight in this

meeting for coming to the end of the mission, saying the mission

for myself. But if you come tonight in this

meeting to Christ, they take you.

They take you. I want to say three things.

I want to be quick tonight, but I want to think about the step

that's needed for salvation. And this step is necessary.

I want you to see here, here is a step that is necessary for if

anyone, if anyone wants to be saved and wants to be forgiven,

you must take a step and you must come to Jesus, him that

cometh unto me. It is of the utmost importance

for the Sinner to come to Christ, and the emphasis here,

the emphasis here is me. That's what the Lord.

Jesus said you must come to me. It's not that you would.

Come to anyone else. Anyone to church to font to

Mary? Muhammad to Buddha.

But he says to me. And that's very, very important

because here's his because the only Saviour is the Lord Jesus

Christ. Remember in first John 4 verse

1 John 4:14

14, we have said, as John has said, and we do testify, he's

making a testimony that the Father sent the Son.

Notice to be the saviour of the world, not one of the saviours,

but he is the saviour of the world.

And Peter said in Acts 4 and verse 12, neither is there

salvation any other, for there's no other name under heaven given

among men whereby we must be saved.

And he's preaching urge to religious people.

But listen, there's no other name, there's no other Saviour.

And here the Lord Jesus Christ tells us in John 6, You've got

to take a step and come to me. He must come.

To me, one particular man, Robert Brown, says God.

Never saves A spectator. He's no good looking at Christ.

It's no good listening as any things are important, listening

to the gospel. No doubt about this tonight.

That's why we have the mission and the preaching of the gospel.

But it's no good just sitting listening.

If you want to be saved, you must come to Jesus Christ.

This step is necessary. Think about the.

Necessary if you. Send the simplicity.

Of a step as. Well, because we find here that

here something. You can understand.

You come to Jesus. I like it when I meet.

People in the doors and they're said to me, I'm trying this and

I'm trying not to. I'm doing these wee things and I

listen, all you've got to do, cut out all the middle men, cut

them out. And I'm talking here really

about Roman Catholics. When I meet them.

Cut out all the middle men, go straight to the Lord Jesus.

Christ, that's. Just implicit the gospel, and

you've got to come to him and come freely to him.

And you read that verse yourself.

You read it unsaved person here tonight in this meeting, him

that cometh unto me, I asked you the question, Do you see in this

verse anything that you've got? To bring to Christ, do you see?

Anything. Is he asking you to bring money?

Is he asking you to bring your works?

Is he asking you to bring deeds? Is he asking you to bring

anything to him? No, You come.

Freely to Christ you just come, though, remember, says in

desire. 55 verse one. Whoever you wonder thirsteth,

come ye to the waters. And he and he hath no money.

What he's put in his hands, in his pocket, he has no money.

Come ye buy and eat. Ye come, buy wine and milk,

without money, without praise. Here's the wonderful truth of

the gospel of the Bible. Salvation's free.

It's free gift. Jesus come to Christ and to come

freely and there's people trying to bring this and they're trying

to bring that to base off. I said to you tonight they're

all converted in this meeting. You can give nothing.

You can give nothing for this salvation.

It's free. Jesus pet it all upon the cross,

that's. Why he was saying about him

nothing in my hands they bring, but simply to the crossing like

that, nothing. He just called.

That's what he says. It's him that.

Cometh unto me He's coming freely, and coming by faith,

because we think. Here.

That we come by. Faith we we cannot see the.

Lord Jesus Christ, we know that, of course.

He's in heaven. He came, he bled and died.

Suffered on the cross? He's sitting at the right.

Hand of the throne of God, he said, we know.

How do I come? How do I come to the Lord Jesus

Christ? I know how to come to this

church. I know I drive up the road, I

come through the gates, come through the door into the pure

and all of it. But how?

How can I come to the Lord Jesus Christ?

You come to him. By faith, come to him.

By faith, he's God, He's listening, He's calling, he's.

Calling you to come to him. Come by faith.

Turn to him, Turn to him and come to the Lord Jesus.

See his Spurgeon says. We come to his blood to be

washed, to his righteousness to be cleansed, to his wounds to be

healed, to his life for a life eternal, and to His death for

the death of our sins. We come.

We come to Christ. We come faithfully to Christ.

And if you ever want to us see it, you come by.

Faith to Jesus, just turn, come to pray to him, and you come

forsaken. Because the very word, the Lord

Jesus. Here speaks come to him means.

That there's got to be separation, there's got to be a

change. And I want to mean by this to

come to Jesus Christ the Sinner. Must leave her sins.

I would never preach. I'll uncertainly call and most

of my life would never preach. Just stay in your sin and just

start going to church and just amend a few things.

In your life, that is not the gospel, that's not the message

of salvation, the Lord Jesus himself said, and Luke 13 verse

Luke 13:5

5, I say, tell you nay, but except you repent, you shall all

likewise perish. And the cry of the gospel, it

says repent. Oh, you said to me tonight.

Well, what does repent? Mean it means you.

Turn right around. You're going this way in your

life. You're going after sin, loving

sin, running after sin. And then you turn right around,

you have turned your back on it, and you've come to Jesus Christ

right around. This is what?

Repentance means. And I want to tell you tonight,

this is what it means to come. To Jesus Christ.

He must leave, must forsake your sin, and you must leave your

sin, whatever that may be, if that is holding you back

tonight. This is the world, the things of

the world, the pleasures of the world, the drink of the world,

the immorality of the world, the drugs of the world.

Heaven that cometh unto me, you must leave your sin.

Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to leave your

unsafe company of friends? Are you willing to leave that

corruption is in your life? If you want to be saved, he must

calm down. He must leave these.

Places the pubs, the downsalls, the House of Iniquity.

Member says aside. 55 Verse 7 Let the wicked forsake his way.

On the righteous man his. Thoughts and let him turn on the

Lord. He will have mercy on him and to

our God, for he will have been the important Let the wicked

forsake his ways to get away from the world and get away from

sin and come. To Jesus Christ, so you've got

to come, you must leave. There must be the forsaken of

sin, the practise of sin and their life.

Martin Lloyd Jones says Christianity starts with

repentance. So we've got to repent.

People believe in our self righteousness.

In other words what I mean by that.

Just got a wee drink here. They must leave every false

hope. That they're clinging to, to

save them. There are people.

Holding on what we tell you tonight.

The rotten planks they're clinging on, hoping that'll keep

me afloat. Maybe something in their?

Church and maybe something they're doing in the community.

I I'm not against you trying to help me.

Now none of us would ever get up and preach against people who's

trying to help you. But if you're trying to do deeds

and you're trying to do works, they float you the whole way to

heaven. Of course we will preach against

that because the Bible says it. It says.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the

law. And you can just.

Underline those two words that I've done here in my notes.

It's not all right if I let go of that plank of works, deeds,

church, whatever it is not. Save you forsaking all I take

them. It's Christ and Christ alone as

saves and you must let go of every false hope that they're

holding on to and you must cling to Jesus Christ and you come to

him and he saves. This is what it means to come to

Jesus Christ just. The way you are.

That's the way you come though. All your sin come to Jesus

Christ. That's what John Bunyan did one

day. This tax came with power into

his heart. Him that cometh unto me I will a

no wise cast out. And dear.

Friends, he came. To Jesus Christ, that's how he

came. That's a step you must take.

I'm not asked you to get up tonight and walk up to this

church and get down, but if you want.

To you're more than welcome some of the wise he can have it shot

with you, but if you want to be safe.

You've got to come. You've got to come to Jesus

Christ. We're not asking you to come to

a church. You're welcome here any time at

all, but no doubt about that, and I'm sure you're felt.

Really. Welcome, and the hospitality and

everything in here has been tremendous over the last couple

of weeks, but for you to perceive, you must come to

Jesus. You must him not cometh unto me.

Would you come to Jesus Christ tonight?

You've heard the Gospel, maybe for years.

And. You're selling your sin.

Here's a step they must take. They must take.

Come to Jesus. Come to them.

Then I. Want to think about the scope of

salvation? And it says all.

The Father giveth me, so come to me.

And there's theological lessons here, but those who's given to

Christ, we know that. Of course.

Well, when John Bunny was asked the question and they asked him

the question, what him is he referring to?

Well, he answered very well. You know how he answered that

question. It's him the cometh.

That's how you answer. That's a good.

Way of getting out of it, isn't it theological doctrine and so

on. What him is it talking about?

It's him that cometh and that's the difference in us.

There are people and carried off and they won't come and that's

maybe you tonight in this meeting.

You will not come to Christ. Christ says they will not come

to me, that they might have life, but it's Him that cometh.

That's that's. What we're talking about.

I do glad it's him. The ladies right here, by the

way, don't don't think the ladies are not unless they are

of course, in this text as. Well, let me.

Just say a number of things very quickly here because time's

going on tonight. The Sinner can come despite his

race, doesn't matter where he's from.

Africa Indian race Chinese the white man black.

Man, it doesn't matter I've had the opportunity and and some

brother here beside. Me as well have been in

different countries preaching Jesus Christ.

It's been wonderful to stand in the Philippines, to stand in

Kenya, to stand in the Uganda, Australia, It's this game, it's

in the Commonwealth, it's in the Commonwealth.

There's nobody. I didn't say just only people

from Ulster can come and they can come.

And the people over the border, they can come to Christ.

Doesn't matter who it is tonight, it's him that cometh

unto me. And you read the Bible.

In Revelation Chapter 7. And verse 9 And John said, And

Revelation 7 · chapter mention

after this I beheld, although a great multitude, which no man

could number notice. Of all nations and kindreds and

people and tongues stood before the throne, there's a whole what

they say, only 144,000's going to heaven.

But we're not going down that route.

Tonight you turn into revelation. 7 verse 9.

Revelation 7:9

There's a great multitude which no man could number.

There were before the throne. They were in heaven of all

nations. All the people, the jungles

came, there were people all over the world came, Different

people, different cultures, different conversations, but

they came to Jesus Christ, you see?

And you can come. And you can come, friends,

tonight it's in the cometh. The senator can come.

Despite their rebellion and sentence, it's in the cometh.

There's no limit. Put in these words.

I I want to tell you tonight the violence offender can come.

Sometimes we're arson outreach work.

I'll ask you a question. Can the murderer be saved?

Some people ask that. Question I I say yes they can.

Oh boy, some people doesn't really like that.

I said, well you ask me the question, Teaching of the Bible,

the blood. Of Jesus Christ, His Son

cleanses us from all sin. And the murder canvasser of

Manasseh, Second Kings 21, verse 16.

2 Kings 21:16

Moreover, Manasseh shed in us some blood very much till he had

filled Jerusalem from one end to another.

Beside his sinners, so one. But he filled the streets of

Jerusalem with blood. Second Chronicles 33.

He's in prison. He's on to conviction.

He lifts his voice. He cries for mercy and.

God hurt him, God save them. The mortar can come the hardest

can come. The faith can come the dire.

Faith, he'd lived this whole life, this whole life without

Christ. He had won foot me until he say

in the grave, he's about to die, he's about to be cast down into

hell and he looked at Jesus Christ and he says, Lord,

Remember Me when I come as into thy Kingdom.

And the Lord Jesus said, verily I say unto thee, today thou

shall be with me in paradise. He lived the whole life without.

Jesus Christ, but when he came to Jesus Christ, the Lord

saithan, maybe there's people here tonight and you and you're

getting on in years. I think we all are.

By the way, we're not picking anybody out in this statement

tonight, but you can come to Jesus.

You live the life without him. For Jack, you know, it's

Chandler Cometh. Are you a vile Sinner?

Maybe you've commit murder. I I don't know, I don't think, I

do not know. I don't have to know God knows

the wickedness of your sin tonight that's in the cometh

devil possess people read about legion legion that man who was

filled with many devils. He came to Jesus Christ and of

course, Corinthians 6 verse 11 and 12 a great list of sinners,

homosexuals leswith. They're all in that particular

text, but they came to Jesus Christ and their friends.

The Lord give them. Mercy, it's in the cometh.

Let your sin hold you back from coming to the Lord Jesus Christ

despite your rebellion of sin. Despite your religion.

Whatever it may be. There are people bowed down

tonight before idols all over the whole world tonight and if

they only turn from their sins and and turn from idol their

idols and come to Christ, Christ will accept.

Them force. Thessalonians One, verse 9.

For they themselves. Show of us what manner entered

and we had on to them. Notice the words how you turn to

God from. Idols, they serve the living.

Through God, they're idolaters. That we should be they.

Were bowed down before idols. But they could come to Jesus,

and that's what I want to tell you here tonight.

It's him the cometh this way of all.

Excuses some that send old I'm too old.

It's him, the cometh. Some would say I'm too young.

It's him, the cometh. I'm too poor.

It's him the cometh, and too bad him the cometh.

Listen, this is what it says. You said I never went to church

in my life. It's him that cometh.

Here's a. Scope of this great gospel.

It's him that cometh. And that's the matter we

preached to you the last couple of weeks to come to Jesus

Christ. It's him that cometh, all right?

Fear about your side. I don't have to know you.

You don't have to tell any of us.

We're not priests. We know.

And in the sense of Roman Catholic priest, you don't have

to make any confession to us at all.

You'll make it to God. Come to Jesus Christ.

That's him that cometh unto me. This is the words of the

Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and shed

his blood. That's him that cometh.

Here cometh unto me I want to say last about the security of

salvation. He's finding this word.

In the cometh unto me I have no wise cast out.

Now the Greek Mr McLaughlin was a Greek scholar, I think.

Mr Maxwell here. There's a double negative here

that tells us in this listen, I will never, never cast you out.

Isn't that wonderful? I.

Never cast you out. What about if I fail and fall?

I'll cast you out. When you come to die and you

feel old and weak, I never cast you out.

When you come and stand before judgement before me or down the

line and not cast you out. I will never, I will never,

never cast you out. Security of salvation is found

at his word. And where?

Titus One, verse 2. And hope of eternal life with

God that cannot. Lie.

Promised before the world. God.

Does God have lies? Does Christ have lies?

Not a bit of it. The Devil.

'S a liar. But the Lord Jesus, He's the

truth and he is the life. And John Bunyan said, if ever

Satan and I just strive for any word.

Of God in all our life, it was this good word, as if Christ was

at one end of it. He says, and I at the other.

But praise God, he said, praise God.

I got, I got, I overcame him, I got sweetness from it.

And I said to my wife, now I know, I know, I know.

What did he know? He knew he had come to Jesus and

he had been saved. You see, the security is found.

In his word here. Sin the cometh I will and no.

Wise cast out you come to Christ tonight you leave your sins if I

already. Indicated here tonight.

You repent and come to. Jesus Christ, just the way you

are, and he'll bring you in. He'll accept you.

That's what. He's saying you.

Don't deserve it, not does any of us.

Is there anyone here tonight which stand and says well I

deserved? To be brought in, not one of us.

Saved by grace alone and I cometh out at me.

I will and no wise can't say that's a promise now that's a

promise not coming from the preachers tonight.

It's coming from Christ. You come to him, he'll save you.

There you are. That takes away all your should

take away all your fears. Tonight should take away all

your doubts. Tonight it should take.

Away all your excuses tonight. All excuses is gone.

Colin preached the excuses last night.

All excuses is cast. To the one side come the Jesus

Christ, and He bring you that wonderful, and also it is found

in His work. Remember, it's his work.

To save sinners, for the Son of man has come to seek, and to see

of that which has lost. Luke 19, verse 10.

Luke 19:10

How can he? How can he?

Turn away. A poor, trembling, repentant

soul that comes to Jesus who's repented from their sin, and

they come to Jesus Christ and they're calling on to him.

Lord Jesus, I want you to save me.

I want your blood to wash away my sin.

I want you to bring me to heaven.

How? How can Christ turn away such a

person? He can't.

Because it is his work to save such a person.

That's his work. What hands would he cast him out

with? Hold on.

Neil pierced hands. Neil pierced hands.

He died for sinners like you. He shed his blood for sinners

like you. Heaven would mourn if he did

this. Hell will rejoice if he did

this. Him that cometh unto me I will.

And no wise cast out as John Bunyan lay on his deathbed, his

last words war. Take me, for I come to thee.

I want to tell you tonight the Lord took on as him that cometh

unto me, and no wise cast out and the Lord will save you if

you're all converted tonight in this meeting, it's time to

settle this matter about your soul and come to Jesus Christ.

Just come the way you are and repent of yourself and put your

faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We sang on him tonight. I heard the voice of Jesus say,

Come on to me and rest. Lay down I weary one, lay down

thy head upon my breast. And then he says, I came to

Jesus as I was weary, worn and sad.

I founded him a resting place. And he has made me glad.

I want to tell you the happiest day of my life was the day I

came to Jesus. That's it.

I have many happy days after I had to say that.

Yet married, children were born, all those things.

But the happiest day of my life, I came to Jesus.

I came the way I was and the minister who led me the.

Lord told me after. They could smell the booze off.

Me off me. From the night before.

But I want to tell you I came to them just the way I was in my

50s and I came to them and he took me in.

I took John Bunyan in I. Could go round to.

Church tonight, and I'm not going to ask you.

So stand on your feet if you're seeing, and you'll stand.

Up and just no, he took me in. He took me in near his tonight

and said he took me in. On save tonight he'll take you

in. It's him that cometh unto me.

I will. And no wise cast out.

Come to Jesus. That's it.

Come and trust them and he'll save you tonight.

And all your sins will be forgiven.

And you'll get everlasted. Life now here.

Why would you not come? Why would you not come?

What's holding you? There it is, There is.

We've brought before you here tonight, in the word of the

living God, the assurance of gods on failing.

Welcome. Christ.

'S on failing welcome. Why do not come and trust them

as him that cometh unto me. I will, and no wise can

straight. And I hope that my God has

spoken to you. If you have anything to say to

see me after meeting. See the brother here as well.

You can settle the mother up at the front of the church here.

Elders of you out the back having their supper.

Settle this mother tonight. Sea of disgrace is free.

Come to Jesus Christ. Don't put it off to another

mission another time. Behold, now is accepted.

Time, Behold, now is the day of salvation.

There's no better time than now to be saved.

We trust the Lord has spoken to your heart, and I pray tonight

you'll come and put your faith and trust in our great Saviour.

So we're going to sing.
