  1. Well, it's good to see all of you this morning.

  2. Open up, if you would, with me please, to Colossians chapter 1.

    Colossians 1 chapter mention

  3. This is the second week of our series working through this letter to the Colossian church.

  4. If you're using the Pew Bible in front of you, it's on page 983.

  5. Colossians chapter 1.

    Colossians 1 chapter mention

  6. We're going to begin in verse 9 this morning.

  7. Those of you who've been here for any length of time will know that I tend not to address contemporary things that are happening.

  8. I just want to make it about the Lord and about His Word.

  9. But it's filling up the news cycle.

  10. I'm sure you've been bombarded with it this week.

  11. Wherever you turn on the media and the news and the radio, wherever you go, you're hearing about this.

  12. Maybe there's a response in your own heart to this.

  13. And I just want to address the Charlie Kirk assassination.

  14. And I want to help us to see how the passage this morning that we're going to be dealing with helps to inform our hearts on how we, as believers, should respond.

  15. Those of you who may be like, ah, who is Charlie Kirk?

  16. I don't even know who Charlie Kirk is.

  17. Let me just give you a quick introduction.

  18. Well, he's the founder of ministry called Turning Point USA.

  19. It was his goal to empower young people to be able to think conservatively and understand Christian values.

  20. He had a daily radio show and podcast.

  21. And he was able to deal with contemporary issues from a Christian standpoint.

  22. He would go to often target universities and colleges.

  23. And he would go to those campuses.

  24. And he would have little forums where somebody could come to the mic and either ask a question or debate him on a contemporary issue.

  25. And Charlie Kirk would enter into that and provide some answers from the scripture and even from culture to help address those questions about contemporary issues.

  26. He was, however, a committed Christian.

  27. And I know what the media wants to draw a lot of attention to is that he was a political activist.

  28. And that may be true in some respect.

  29. But he was a committed Christian.

  30. Just a couple of months ago, there was an interview that took place where he answered this question.

  31. The interviewer said, Charlie, how do you want to be remembered?

  32. And Charlie answered that question saying, I want to be remembered for my courage and my faith.

  33. But that would be the most important thing.

  34. The most important thing, he says, and this is in quotes, is my faith.

  35. He said he gave his life to Christ when he was in fifth grade.

  36. He said that while he didn't really understand all that that meant,

  37. that God continued to develop this understanding of the gospel in his own heart.

  38. And he came to a place of recognizing that he was a, and these are his words, quote,

  39. a total, absolute sinner who fell short of God's grace, end quote.

  40. In addressing sin, he said it's actually a great comfort to know in total depravity.

  41. It's a great comfort to me that there is nothing in my heart that is worthy of salvation.

  42. And it's only due, only owing to God's grace in my life.

  43. He believed that Jesus' death on the cross paid the price for his sin.

  44. He believed that it was not about personal merit, these are his words,

  45. but about being rescued by God's grace.

  46. He believed that Jesus Christ was God in human flesh,

  47. who taught us to live and how to offer himself as a gift of salvation.

  48. Those who accept him as Lord and Savior can have eternal life, end quote.

  49. Those are his words.

  50. And by the way, in this moment right now,

  51. if you do not know Jesus as your Savior,

  52. and you have come to a place of recognizing that there are things in your life

  53. that are out of sync, out of step,

  54. that the Bible calls that sin,

  55. and by the way, you're in good company

  56. because everybody in this room has fallen short of the glory of God.

  57. We have all not met God's standard,

  58. but there is a way of salvation,

  59. an offer of salvation that comes through faith in Jesus

  60. in asking forgiveness for our sins,

  61. believing that he is the only way that we can enjoy forgiveness

  62. and cleansing is what we're going to look in our passage today,

  63. that he is the means of redemption,

  64. the forgiveness of sins because of his grace and his grace alone.

  65. That's how salvation happens.

  66. And that's what Charlie wanted the world to know.

  67. Now you can imagine there are a number of responses

  68. that have happened because of the events of this past week.

  69. On one side there is glee.

  70. They're giddy.

  71. You might say they're even dancing in the streets.

  72. A sense of relief that Charlie is dead.

  73. A sense of joy that finally the voice has been silenced.

  74. On the other side there's a range of responses

  75. from those who are simply devastated and confused

  76. to those who are full of rage.

  77. You are seething.

  78. Maybe even some of you in this room,

  79. and by the way, I've had to check my heart this week

  80. because, man, I'm angry.

  81. I want to be angry.

  82. And maybe we feel like in some way

  83. this is the inevitable conclusion

  84. for a society that's moving in the direction of rejecting God.

  85. And so, in large degree, you're right.

  86. But it causes us to answer the question,

  87. what are we to do?

  88. How are we to respond?

  89. What is to be the reaction

  90. of those who call themselves followers of Jesus,

  91. who have given their life to God?

  92. What are we to do?

  93. Well, we need to start by remembering five truths, okay?

  94. And this, by the way, is going to be our message in a nutshell,

  95. and then we'll get to the passage, okay?

  96. We'll talk about the passage.

  97. We'll generalize these things,

  98. and then we'll talk about the specifics

  99. as we get into our message this morning.

  100. The first thing that we need to understand

  101. is that as bad as things are,

  102. as hostile as our world seems to be,

  103. as aggressive and as wicked

  104. as our world tends to be,

  105. and we see it, we feel the darkness,

  106. we feel like our world is crashing in on us,

  107. we have to remember,

  108. as bad as it is right now,

  109. it isn't even close,

  110. not even close to as bad as it was

  111. when the Apostle Paul wrote this letter.

  112. Not even close.

  113. You remember where Paul is?

  114. Where is Paul when he writes this letter

  115. to the church of Colossae?

  116. He's in prison.

  117. He's in prison.

  118. In Rome.

  119. And wherever the Apostle Paul goes,

  120. he gets run out of town.

  121. He's either beaten with rods,

  122. he's stoned,

  123. and to the point of death,

  124. they think he's dead,

  125. the mobs are riled up,

  126. and injustice is being done,

  127. and we're going to see this in our passage today.

  128. What is the heart of the Apostle Paul?

  129. What do we see?

  130. It's incredible.

  131. His perspective was not anchored to culture.

  132. His perspective was tethered to God.

  133. That gave him stability.

  134. And by the way,

  135. it can give all of us in this room stability.

  136. It's not as bad today as it was then.

  137. But even if it were,

  138. it doesn't matter.

  139. Second truth.

  140. What stabilized Paul

  141. was not winning arguments.

  142. What stabilized Paul

  143. was not winning arguments.

  144. Not fighting for justice.

  145. Not bringing the force

  146. of human power

  147. to bear on the situation.

  148. But in depending on something

  149. much greater,

  150. by the way,

  151. uncontested power.

  152. That's what we're going to see

  153. in our passage today.

  154. Unrivaled,

  155. uncontested,

  156. unstoppable power

  157. of God

  158. that we have access to.

  159. And if you are a believer today,

  160. is living within you

  161. through the Spirit.

  162. Paul says this

  163. in 2 Corinthians 10,

  164. 3-4.

  165. He says this,

  166. For though we walk

  167. in the flesh,

  168. we are not waging war

  169. according to the flesh.

  170. Can we show that verse,

  171. please, Larry?

  172. If we walk in the flesh,

  173. we are not waging war

  174. according to the flesh.

  175. For the weapons

  176. of our warfare

  177. are not of the flesh,

  178. but have divine power

  179. to destroy strongholds.

  180. Did you get that?

  181. There is divine power

  182. that you have access to.

  183. So what are we doing?

  184. Chasing the weak,

  185. ineffective

  186. strategies of the world.

  187. Stop playing their games.

  188. Stop dipping in

  189. to fleshly,

  190. carnal weapons

  191. and strategies.

  192. Access divine strength.

  193. Stop using their tactics.

  194. There is no wonder

  195. why we keep losing ground.

  196. Because strength

  197. comes from God.

  198. Not from your ability

  199. to win an argument.

  200. Not in your ability

  201. to be able to put somebody

  202. in their place.

  203. Not in your ability

  204. to outdazzle somebody

  205. with your intellectual capability.

  206. It comes in the power of God

  207. to change a mind

  208. and change a heart.

  209. Stop depending

  210. on human,

  211. carnal tactics.

  212. Number three.

  213. Third.

  214. The opposition that we face

  215. is not primarily physical,

  216. but spiritual.

  217. We're not fighting

  218. against people

  219. or shooters

  220. or assassinators

  221. or people in government

  222. who we don't agree with.

  223. Lawmakers.

  224. You fill in the blank.

  225. That is not our fight.

  226. Our fight is not

  227. in the flesh.

  228. Our fight

  229. is a spiritual one.

  230. That's what Paul says

  231. in Ephesians chapter 6.

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  232. He says,

  233. Be strong in the Lord

  234. and in the strength

  235. of his might.

  236. For we do not wrestle

  237. against flesh and blood,

  238. but against the rulers,

  239. against the authorities,

  240. against the cosmic powers

  241. over this present darkness,

  242. against the spiritual forces

  243. of evil

  244. in the heavenly places.

  245. There is no wonder

  246. why we keep losing

  247. because the target

  248. of our battle

  249. tends to be physical

  250. rather than spiritual.

  251. So there's no wonder

  252. why we fight

  253. with physical weapons

  254. because we think

  255. we're fighting

  256. a physical battle.

  257. We are in a war,

  258. but it has nothing

  259. to do with physicality.

  260. It has everything

  261. to do with God.

  262. And so we fight

  263. the spiritual battle

  264. not by doing it

  265. in our own strength,

  266. but by calling attention

  267. to God

  268. and inviting God,

  269. asking God,

  270. pleading with God

  271. to work in a situation.

  272. Fourth,

  273. God's rescue plan

  274. for transforming the world

  275. is not political activism.

  276. It's not winning arguments.

  277. God's plan

  278. for changing the world

  279. is God's church.

  280. God's church

  281. that takes God's word

  282. to the people

  283. of this world.

  284. And it starts with us,

  285. by the way,

  286. and us being transformed

  287. by that very word

  288. and so that we can begin

  289. to do what Christ

  290. calls us to do

  291. in Matthew chapter 5

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  292. when he says this,

  293. you are the salt

  294. of the earth.

  295. But if the salt

  296. of the earth

  297. loses its saltiness,

  298. how can it be made

  299. salty again?

  300. It is no longer

  301. good for anything.

  302. You might say,

  303. it is good for nothing

  304. except to be thrown out

  305. and trampled by men.

  306. You are the light

  307. of the world.

  308. A city on a hill

  309. cannot be hidden.

  310. In the same way,

  311. let your light

  312. shine before men

  313. that they may see

  314. your good deeds

  315. and praise your Father

  316. in heaven.

  317. God has called

  318. the church

  319. to an incredible

  320. mission

  321. of transforming

  322. the world

  323. not with power

  324. of us

  325. but with a message.

  326. A message of the gospel

  327. that has transformed

  328. us first.

  329. Unfortunately,

  330. we tend to be

  331. as much of the problem

  332. as our world is.

  333. Our words

  334. do not reflect

  335. the heart of God

  336. that what we learn

  337. about Jesus,

  338. he was full of truth

  339. and grace

  340. that when people

  341. hear us

  342. and when we speak

  343. there might be

  344. a lot of truth there

  345. but there's not

  346. a whole lot of grace

  347. and so they can't

  348. see Jesus

  349. in our life

  350. because we're not

  351. reflecting Jesus' heart.

  352. And then in our

  353. private lives,

  354. we tend to be

  355. just as bound

  356. by lust,

  357. just as bound

  358. by impurity,

  359. just as bound

  360. by bitterness,

  361. just as bound

  362. by anger

  363. and unforgiveness.

  364. We,

  365. we haven't risen

  366. above the world.

  367. We are living

  368. in it

  369. and there's

  370. almost no difference

  371. except for the fact

  372. that we come to church

  373. on Sunday

  374. and maybe

  375. some of the words

  376. we use

  377. don't use profanity

  378. but

  379. other than that,

  380. our tactics at work

  381. and our lifestyle

  382. and deep down inside,

  383. we have the same,

  384. we're bound

  385. in the same way

  386. our world is bound.

  387. so it essentially

  388. takes away

  389. any opportunity

  390. for us to speak

  391. into a world

  392. when our own lives

  393. are just as broken.

  394. So,

  395. what can we do?

  396. And that's why

  397. we come to this passage today.

  398. We come to this passage

  399. because Paul is offering

  400. to us

  401. a strategy,

  402. a way for us

  403. to begin this process

  404. personally

  405. and corporately

  406. to begin to change

  407. ourselves

  408. or allow change,

  409. I should say,

  410. to be very careful,

  411. to allow God

  412. to change us first

  413. and allow that word

  414. to transform

  415. the people around us

  416. and then

  417. as that word

  418. begins to grow

  419. in us,

  420. then transformation

  421. will begin to happen.

  422. So,

  423. what stabilized

  424. the Apostle Paul?

  425. Well,

  426. let me just read

  427. a couple of these verses

  428. and I want you to see

  429. what seems to stabilize

  430. the Apostle Paul.

  431. What is the mark

  432. of his language

  433. throughout these

  434. first several verses?

  435. Notice,

  436. Colossians 1, 3,

  437. he says,

  438. we always thank God

  439. for you.

  440. God the Father

  441. of our Lord Jesus Christ

  442. when we pray

  443. for you.

  444. And then in verse 9

  445. he says,

  446. and so from the day

  447. we heard,

  448. we have not ceased

  449. to pray for you

  450. asking that you may be

  451. filled with the knowledge

  452. of his will

  453. and all spiritual wisdom

  454. and understanding.

  455. Now,

  456. verse 12,

  457. giving thanks

  458. to the Father

  459. who has qualified you

  460. to share

  461. in the inheritance

  462. of the saints

  463. in light.

  464. What do you hear

  465. from him?

  466. What do you hear

  467. coming from the Apostle Paul?

  468. I'll tell you

  469. what you don't hear.

  470. What you don't hear is,

  471. oh,

  472. woe is me.

  473. Huh.

  474. I'm in prison again.

  475. I'm all alone.

  476. I'm just scraping by.

  477. Nobody cares about me.

  478. I can't earn a living.

  479. Nights are cold.

  480. These shackles

  481. keep chafing

  482. at my hands

  483. and feet.

  484. I didn't do anything

  485. to deserve this.

  486. There is no justice

  487. in this world.

  488. If we could just change

  489. the government

  490. then everything

  491. would be fine.

  492. No,

  493. you don't hear that

  494. because that's not

  495. Paul's perspective.

  496. Instead,

  497. you hear this.

  498. We are so grateful

  499. for you.

  500. We're so grateful

  501. for you.

  502. We pray for you

  503. all the time.

  504. I want to commend

  505. your faith

  506. in Christ Jesus.

  507. I want to commend

  508. your love

  509. for all the saints.

  510. I want to commend

  511. that your hope

  512. is not in this world

  513. and the situation,

  514. the circumstances

  515. of this life.

  516. Your hope is in heaven.

  517. It's removed.

  518. It's outside.

  519. And so,

  520. we're asking,

  521. my team,

  522. myself,

  523. we're praying for you.

  524. We're praying

  525. that as the word

  526. of God is spreading

  527. that you would

  528. pay attention

  529. to that.

  530. Let the power

  531. of the ineffectiveness

  532. of the word of God,

  533. the perspective

  534. that God is working,

  535. let that settle

  536. your heart.

  537. That it is bearing fruit.

  538. That it is increasing.

  539. When you see

  540. what God is doing

  541. in spite of the culture,

  542. Lord,

  543. that that should

  544. lift your spirits

  545. and help you

  546. to grow in faith,

  547. we ask that you

  548. would bear fruit

  549. as well.

  550. That God's power

  551. would capture you

  552. and energize you

  553. and strengthen you.

  554. And that all this

  555. would lead

  556. to your own hearts

  557. being overcome

  558. by God's abundant goodness.

  559. That it would

  560. gush forth

  561. like rivers,

  562. like geysers,

  563. exploding.

  564. This thanksgiving

  565. is erupting

  566. from within you

  567. because you see

  568. what God is doing.

  569. And that gratitude

  570. and joy

  571. and endurance

  572. would mark your life.

  573. Oh,

  574. that you would grow

  575. in knowledge

  576. and intimacy

  577. with the creator

  578. of the universe.

  579. And that the experience

  580. would stabilize you

  581. in this life.

  582. In spite of darkness,

  583. and when you would reflect

  584. your hope in heaven,

  585. in your current position

  586. of having been transferred

  587. into the kingdom

  588. of light.

  589. Oh,

  590. that you would live

  591. in the light,

  592. dear ones.

  593. That's this passage

  594. in my words.

  595. That's his prayer.

  596. That's what we hear.

  597. And that so often

  598. is not reflective

  599. or representative

  600. of what's in our own hearts.

  601. But that's how Paul

  602. inspires faith.

  603. That's how Paul's message

  604. is reinforced

  605. by personal conviction.

  606. What makes his words convincing

  607. is that he's not bogged down.

  608. He's not discouraged.

  609. He's not in despair.

  610. He's not throwing up his arms.

  611. Like,

  612. what in the world

  613. do we do now?

  614. He has come to terms

  615. with the fact

  616. that God is over this,

  617. that God is working

  618. in spite of this,

  619. and God's plan

  620. is going to move forward

  621. regardless of all

  622. of the seeming obstacles

  623. and tragedies

  624. that are taking place

  625. in Paul's life.

  626. Instead of being bogged down

  627. and cranky

  628. and frustrated,

  629. he's free.

  630. Paul is free.

  631. Don't you want to be free?

  632. Don't you want to enjoy

  633. the freedom of faith

  634. and trusting in God?

  635. See,

  636. he's positive

  637. because his outlook

  638. is propelled

  639. by a perspective

  640. that is not anchored

  641. to circumstances.

  642. He's doing what we find

  643. in the middle of this letter

  644. in Colossians chapter 3

    Colossians 3 chapter mention

  645. where he sets his mind

  646. on things above.

  647. If Christ is above all

  648. and over all,

  649. and in verse 15

  650. through the remainder

  651. of the chapter,

  652. we're going to get there

  653. next week,

  654. Christ is above all.

  655. Whether it's thrones

  656. or dominions

  657. or principalities

  658. or powers,

  659. that God is over it.

  660. He's over the physical.

  661. He's over the spiritual.

  662. He's over heaven.

  663. He's over earth.

  664. He's over it all.

  665. He's in control.

  666. You can trust him.

  667. He's not letting go.

  668. His plans are not failing.

  669. No wonder why

  670. the Apostle Paul

  671. is so free.

  672. And I think

  673. everyone in this room

  674. wants that.

  675. I think you want that.

  676. I sure do.

  677. I want that.

  678. Well, guess what?

  679. You can have it.

  680. It's not elusive.

  681. It's not out of your reach.

  682. And what we're going to see

  683. in this passage this morning

  684. is that God will offer that

  685. to us through his son,

  686. through faith in Jesus.

  687. It's available.

  688. And so I just want to,

  689. I want to pray that God

  690. will do that work for us.

  691. We'll begin our time

  692. in prayer.

  693. It'll be brief.

  694. I want to pray through

  695. this passage for us

  696. so that God will do this

  697. for us too.

  698. and then we'll dig in

  699. and try to bring

  700. these truths out

  701. in a little bit

  702. fuller measure.

  703. Okay?

  704. Let's pray.

  705. Lord, we need you

  706. because

  707. as we evaluate our week,

  708. and I say this personally,

  709. it is so easy

  710. to get bogged down.

  711. It's so easy

  712. to be discouraged.

  713. It's so easy

  714. to allow

  715. the circumstances

  716. of life

  717. to just cloud

  718. my perspective.

  719. Lord, thank you.

  720. It doesn't have to be that way.

  721. And so, Lord,

  722. I pray that you would do

  723. for us a work.

  724. That you would

  725. allow us

  726. to be filled

  727. with the knowledge

  728. of your will.

  729. So that we can walk

  730. in a manner

  731. that's worthy of the Lord.

  732. That we can be

  733. fully pleasing to you.

  734. That we can bear fruit

  735. in every good work.

  736. That we can increase

  737. in our knowledge of you.

  738. Oh, Lord,

  739. would you strengthen us

  740. with that divine power?

  741. That power

  742. that is resident

  743. in the life

  744. of every believer.

  745. May we access that.

  746. May we turn it loose.

  747. May we yield ourselves

  748. to it

  749. and allow it

  750. to have its way

  751. instead of pushing it down

  752. and trying to do things

  753. our own way.

  754. Lord, I pray that our hearts

  755. would be full of thanks.

  756. That gratitude

  757. would erupt from us.

  758. That enduring joy

  759. and patience

  760. in hard things

  761. would mark us

  762. as those

  763. who are people of faith.

  764. And Lord,

  765. I pray that

  766. all of this

  767. would flow

  768. to the glory of God.

  769. That as you work

  770. this change in us

  771. and you work

  772. this change

  773. in our church

  774. and you work

  775. this change

  776. in our families

  777. and in our communities,

  778. wherever that change

  779. will happen,

  780. Lord, may you get

  781. the glory for it.

  782. And we praise you

  783. in Jesus' name.

  784. Amen.

  785. So here we are again.

  786. Here we are again.

  787. We're looking at Paul's prayer.

  788. Look at this.

  789. Verse 9.

  790. And so,

  791. from the day we heard,

  792. we have not ceased

  793. to pray for you,

  794. asking that you may be filled

  795. with the knowledge

  796. of his will

  797. and all spiritual wisdom

  798. and understanding,

  799. so as to walk

  800. in a manner

  801. worthy of the Lord,

  802. fully pleasing

  803. to him,

  804. bearing fruit

  805. in every good work

  806. and increasing

  807. in the knowledge

  808. of God,

  809. being strengthened

  810. with all might

  811. according to his

  812. glorious might

  813. for all endurance

  814. and patience

  815. with joy.

  816. Here Paul is again

  817. praying for the church.

  818. Remember,

  819. he did that in verse 3.

  820. He says,

  821. we pray for you.

  822. We thank God,

  823. the Father

  824. of our Lord Jesus Christ,

  825. when we pray for you.

  826. This prayer

  827. permeated his life.

  828. It was a consistent theme

  829. of what the Apostle Paul

  830. believed

  831. would change the situation.

  832. He says,

  833. from the day we heard

  834. of your faith in Christ,

  835. your love for the saints,

  836. your hope in heaven,

  837. he kind of pushes back

  838. to verses 3 to 5.

  839. Those things

  840. that we've seen in you,

  841. that evidence,

  842. by the way,

  843. not of you pulling yourself

  844. up by the bootstraps

  845. and putting on

  846. this gospel life.

  847. This is a work

  848. of the Word.

  849. It's the Word

  850. that's bearing fruit.

  851. It's the Word

  852. that's increasing.

  853. You have opened

  854. your heart

  855. and your life

  856. to what the Word says

  857. and you've followed it

  858. and you've let it lead you

  859. and that's why

  860. you're experiencing

  861. the evidence

  862. of a gospel life.

  863. So from the day

  864. we heard

  865. of this,

  866. we have not stopped

  867. praying for you.

  868. Now,

  869. Paul's ministry

  870. in Ephesus

  871. took about three years.

  872. It began

  873. probably in A.D. 52,

  874. went to A.D. 55 or so

  875. and the Apostle Paul

  876. would go to Macedonia

  877. and then he would make

  878. his way back

  879. to Jerusalem

  880. and sometime

  881. in that period,

  882. Epaphras likely

  883. was in Ephesus

  884. with the Apostle Paul,

  885. learned at the

  886. school of Tyrannus,

  887. which happened

  888. for three years

  889. and then Epaphras

  890. went to Colossae,

  891. his hometown.

  892. He shared the Word.

  893. People responded.

  894. A church was born.

  895. And then Paul

  896. made his way

  897. from Jerusalem.

  898. Then he was put

  899. into captivity

  900. with Felix.

  901. Remember that?

  902. That was a two-year process.

  903. And then he was

  904. transferred to Rome.

  905. And there's somewhere

  906. between five,

  907. six,

  908. seven years

  909. that have kind of

  910. gone by,

  911. that have transpired

  912. and the Apostle Paul

  913. was like,

  914. I want you to know

  915. from the day

  916. that I heard

  917. that you had a

  918. sincere

  919. and authentic

  920. love for Jesus

  921. and faith in Him,

  922. I've started praying

  923. for you

  924. and I've kept praying

  925. for you

  926. until this day.

  927. Five,

  928. six,

  929. seven years.

  930. This consistent

  931. life of prayer.

  932. The Apostle Paul

  933. in his life

  934. of prayer.

  935. This consistency

  936. of Paul's prayer.

  937. We see this.

  938. And notice that

  939. it's not just

  940. the Apostle Paul

  941. who's praying.

  942. What does it say?

  943. It says,

  944. we pray for you.

  945. We pray.

  946. It's part of

  947. the understanding

  948. of our entire team.

  949. We know as a team

  950. we can't be effective.

  951. We can't have

  952. any vitality.

  953. We can't help you

  954. have any endurance

  955. or strength

  956. or joy.

  957. We can't do that.

  958. But God can.

  959. So we're praying

  960. that He will do that

  961. for you.

  962. It wasn't something

  963. that Paul could do.

  964. It wasn't something

  965. he could offer.

  966. He was in a prison.

  967. And even if he was

  968. with the people,

  969. it was something

  970. that comes from God,

  971. not from Paul.

  972. He knew that God

  973. could provide.

  974. And this is why

  975. the Apostle Paul

  976. is so dependent

  977. on God.

  978. Pray.

  979. And Paul's dependence

  980. on prayer is clear.

  981. We see that twice

  982. in the last several verses.

  983. We see that in almost

  984. every single letter

  985. the Apostle Paul writes,

  986. prayer is the stuff

  987. that makes Paul effective.

  988. It's the stuff.

  989. And we know

  990. that it's the stuff.

  991. And we believe

  992. that God answers prayer.

  993. We believe

  994. that God works

  995. through prayer.

  996. We believe

  997. that God

  998. is listening

  999. to prayer.

1000. So why don't we pray?

  1001. Why don't we pray

  1002. like this?

  1003. What's the problem?

  1004. What seems to be

  1005. the disconnect

  1006. in our hearts?

  1007. We know the truth.

  1008. And by the way,

  1009. I'm just

  1010. as guilty

1011. as the rest of you.

  1012. Okay?

  1013. And this is

  1014. one of those areas.

  1015. By God's grace,

  1016. He will help me

  1017. do better in.

  1018. We,

  1019. we can't

  1020. do it.

  1021. But God can.

1022. So we need to pray.

  1023. And Paul is,

  1024. is driven.

  1025. He's driven

  1026. by this life

  1027. of prayer.

  1028. I love how

  1029. Charles Spurgeon says,

  1030. he says this,

  1031. I would rather teach

  1032. one man to pray

  1033. than ten men

  1034. to preach.

  1035. The reason for that

  1036. is because God

  1037. works through prayer.

  1038. And everybody

  1039. in this room

  1040. who has a relationship

  1041. with Jesus

  1042. can pray.

  1043. You can do it.

1044. So why don't we pray?

  1045. And there are

  1046. at least three reasons

1047. I see in this passage.

  1048. And so I'm gonna,

  1049. I'm gonna bend

  1050. this a bit,

  1051. so forgive me.

  1052. But I wanna apply

  1053. this specifically

1054. to what is our problem?

  1055. What's going on?

  1056. And so,

  1057. boy,

  1058. I've got ten minutes

1059. to try to do this quick.

  1060. Okay?

  1061. Have I gotten through

  1062. one point yet?

  1063. I think I have.

  1064. Phew.

  1065. Here we go.

  1066. What,

  1067. what propelled

  1068. the Apostle Paul

  1069. for his

  1070. love for this church

  1071. is he was driven

  1072. by the knowledge

  1073. of God's will.

  1074. He was driven

  1075. by the knowledge

  1076. of God's will.

  1077. So what's our problem?

  1078. Well,

  1079. our problem is

  1080. rather than praying

  1081. like Jesus

  1082. and the model

  1083. that we see

  1084. from Jesus

  1085. to his disciples,

  1086. thy kingdom come,

  1087. thy will be done.

  1088. Instead,

  1089. we say,

  1090. our kingdom come,

  1091. our will be done.

  1092. We don't wanna know

  1093. God's will,

  1094. really.

  1095. We just want God

  1096. to bend himself

  1097. to our will.

  1098. We approach prayer

  1099. and I know

1100. that we've all done this

  1101. and it's a tendency

1102. for every single one of us.

  1103. Our tendency

  1104. is to say,

  1105. Lord,

  1106. here's what's happening today,

  1107. please help me.

  1108. Lord,

  1109. here's my problem today,

  1110. please fix it.

  1111. Lord,

  1112. here's an issue

  1113. in my life,

  1114. resolve it.

  1115. Lord,

  1116. here's a person

  1117. in my life

  1118. I don't really like,

  1119. please get them

  1120. out of the way.

  1121. And so we're praying

  1122. that God's will,

  1123. excuse me,

  1124. we're praying

  1125. our will

  1126. is gonna be done

  1127. and that God

  1128. will do our business

  1129. for us.

1130. That's not how it works.

1131. It's just not how it works.

  1132. That his will

  1133. would be done.

  1134. And by the way,

  1135. here's the beauty.

  1136. That Paul,

  1137. in praying

  1138. that God's will

  1139. would be known

  1140. means that God's will

  1141. is accessible to you.

  1142. God's will

  1143. is absolute.

  1144. God's will

  1145. is revealed.

  1146. God's will

  1147. is available.

  1148. We don't have to

  1149. wonder

  1150. what his will is

  1151. because he's

  1152. carried it.

  1153. He's shared it

  1154. to us

  1155. in his word.

  1156. And I love

  1157. the superlatives

  1158. in this passage.

  1159. Just look

  1160. at them

  1161. with me briefly.

  1162. Look,

  1163. verse 9,

  1164. filled,

  1165. filled

  1166. with the knowledge

  1167. of his will.

  1168. And that's a word

  1169. that is to

1170. is to fill it up

  1171. so much

  1172. we're bursting.

1173. Like if he gives us

  1174. any more,

  1175. there's going to be

  1176. an explosion

  1177. that takes place.

  1178. That's the kind

  1179. of filling

1180. that God wants to do.

  1181. Filled with the knowledge

  1182. of his will.

  1183. He's done that

  1184. through his word.

  1185. He's given us

  1186. access to his will

  1187. through his word.

  1188. And notice

  1189. verse 9.

  1190. All

  1191. spiritual

  1192. wisdom

  1193. and understanding.

  1194. That God

  1195. will give us

  1196. his will.

  1197. He's not

1198. going to hold it back.

  1199. All of it

  1200. is there.

  1201. Every

  1202. single bit.

  1203. Not just

  1204. a minuscule

  1205. measure.

  1206. And it reminds us

  1207. of what we know

  1208. from James chapter 1.

    James 1 chapter mention

  1209. That if we lack

  1210. wisdom,

  1211. we ask from God.

  1212. It says,

1213. and he gives to us

  1214. in super abundance

  1215. without holding back.

  1216. He just kind of

  1217. boom!

  1218. Lays it on us.

  1219. His will.

  1220. All the will

1221. that we need to know

  1222. in God's word.

  1223. We can find it

  1224. through his

  1225. power and help.

  1226. Notice verse 10.

  1227. Fully

  1228. pleasing to him.

  1229. This is another

  1230. superlative.

  1231. This is another

  1232. one of those

  1233. words that

  1234. Paul is trying

  1235. to describe

  1236. the breadth

  1237. of what God

  1238. will do

  1239. through prayer.

  1240. He's going to

  1241. allow us

  1242. and help us

  1243. to be fully

  1244. pleasing to him.

  1245. Notice verse 10.

  1246. Bearing fruit

  1247. in how many

  1248. good works?

  1249. Every good work.

  1250. Notice verse 11.

  1251. Strengthen with

  1252. how much power?

  1253. All power.

  1254. Notice verse 11.

  1255. According to his

  1256. glorious might.

  1257. Uncontested

  1258. present power

  1259. that God allows

  1260. every believer

  1261. to have.

  1262. And so

  1263. we

  1264. don't enjoy

  1265. the blessing

  1266. of this

  1267. because we

  1268. really don't

  1269. care about

  1270. God's will.

  1271. We want ours.

  1272. we have

  1273. so many

  1274. inferior

  1275. loves.

  1276. We call

  1277. them by the

  1278. way

  1279. distractions.

  1280. We call

  1281. them

  1282. things we

  1283. got to

  1284. do.

  1285. We call

  1286. them

  1287. you know

  1288. I'm

  1289. busy.

  1290. I've got

  1291. stuff to

  1292. do.

  1293. And the

  1294. truth is

  1295. that what

  1296. that means

  1297. is those

  1298. things are

  1299. more important

  1300. than God.

  1301. And when

  1302. I do

  1303. that

  1304. and

  1305. I do

  1306. that more

  1307. than I'd

  1308. like to

  1309. admit.

  1310. When I

  1311. talk about

  1312. distractions

  1313. or I say

  1314. I'm way

  1315. too busy

  1316. what I'm

  1317. saying is

  1318. God is

  1319. not as

  1320. important

  1321. as my

  1322. things.

  1323. So no

  1324. wonder why

  1325. God won't

  1326. answer

  1327. prayer.

  1328. Knowledge

  1329. of his

  1330. will.

  1331. God wants

  1332. to unleash

  1333. that knowledge

  1334. to us.

  1335. Second

  1336. the apostle

  1337. Paul

  1338. he wants

  1339. that knowledge

  1340. to be

  1341. applied

  1342. to the

  1343. way in

  1344. which we

  1345. live.

  1346. That's

  1347. the goal.

  1348. So knowledge

  1349. that relates

  1350. to life.

  1351. And that's

  1352. my second

  1353. problem

  1354. by the

  1355. way.

  1356. So often

  1357. my knowledge

  1358. makes me

  1359. feel better

  1360. about myself

  1361. and what I

  1362. know and

  1363. what I can

  1364. defend and

  1365. how I can

  1366. articulate

  1367. truth but

  1368. that knowledge

  1369. at times

  1370. has little

  1371. compatibility

  1372. with my

  1373. life.

  1374. I'm not

  1375. walking

  1376. worthy

  1377. of the

  1378. gospel.

  1379. That's the

  1380. point here

  1381. so as

  1382. to walk

  1383. in a

  1384. manner

  1385. worthy.

  1386. That's the

  1387. point of

  1388. having

  1389. knowledge.

  1390. Knowledge

  1391. that helps

  1392. us to

  1393. walk.

  1394. Walk in a

  1395. way that

  1396. pleases the

  1397. Lord.

  1398. And that

  1399. knowledge of

  1400. God's will

  1401. is meant to

  1402. produce

  1403. something.

  1404. It's meant

  1405. to produce

  1406. in my

  1407. heart and

  1408. life

  1409. something

  1410. tangible.

  1411. You see

  1412. so often

  1413. when we

  1414. might know

  1415. God's will

  1416. but our

  1417. problem is

  1418. this.

  1419. We might

  1420. know what

  1421. God says

  1422. but we

  1423. don't do

  1424. anything about

  1425. it.

  1426. How many

  1427. of us feel

  1428. very comfortable

  1429. with the

  1430. sin in our

  1431. life?

  1432. How many

  1433. of us

  1434. have been

  1435. struggling

  1436. with certain

  1437. besetting

  1438. sins

  1439. for weeks

  1440. months

  1441. years?

  1442. Those

  1443. besetting

  1444. sins

  1445. they're

  1446. private

  1447. they're

  1448. inside

  1449. no one

  1450. knows

  1451. about

  1452. them

  1453. but

  1454. in your

  1455. heart

  1456. it's

  1457. just

  1458. okay

  1459. because

  1460. God

  1461. will

  1462. forgive

  1463. me.

  1464. And so

  1465. the

  1466. knowledge

  1467. of

  1468. God's

  1469. will

  1470. not

  1471. applied

  1472. is

  1473. not

  1474. going

  1475. to

  1476. do

  1477. anything

  1478. for

  1479. you.

  1480. And

  1481. by

  1482. the

  1483. way

  1484. God

  1485. cares

  1486. about

  1487. you

  1488. enough

  1489. he's

  1490. gracious

  1491. enough

  1492. to

  1493. you

  1494. that

  1495. he's

  1496. not

  1497. going

  1498. to

  1499. reveal

  1500. more

  1501. knowledge

  1502. until

  1503. you

  1504. act

  1505. on

  1506. the

  1507. knowledge

  1508. you

  1509. have.

  1510. And so

  1511. we

  1512. give

  1513. ourselves

  1514. a pass

  1515. we say

  1516. it's

  1517. okay

  1518. it's

  1519. okay

  1520. for me

  1521. to have

  1522. besetting

  1523. sins

  1524. it's

  1525. okay

  1526. for me

  1527. to

  1528. be

  1529. angry

  1530. anger

  1531. is

  1532. justified

  1533. it's

  1534. okay

  1535. for me

  1536. not

  1537. to

  1538. forgive

  1539. have

  1540. you

  1541. seen

  1542. what

  1543. they

  1544. did

  1545. to

  1546. me

  1547. it's

  1548. okay

  1549. for

  1550. me

  1551. to

  1552. be

  1553. angry

  1554. with

  1555. somebody

  1556. for

  1557. an

  1558. injustice

  1559. it's

  1560. okay

  1561. for

  1562. me

  1563. to

  1564. tell

  1565. somebody

  1566. off

  1567. well

  1568. you

  1569. fill

  1570. in

  1571. the

  1572. blank

  1573. !

  1574. And so

  1575. there's

  1576. no wonder

  1577. why

  1578. God

  1579. doesn't

  1580. answer

  1581. our

  1582. prayer

  1583. it's

  1584. not

  1585. having

  1586. the

  1587. work

  1588. that

  1589. it's

  1590. meant

  1591. to

  1592. do

  1593. and

  1594. finally

  1595. here

  1596. Paul

  1597. wants

  1598. this

  1599. church

  1600. to

  1601. experience

  1602. God's

  1603. presence

  1604. in

  1605. everyday

  1606. life

  1607. he

  1608. wants

  1609. them

  1610. to

  1611. experience

  1612. God's

  1613. presence

  1614. in

  1615. everyday

  1616. life

  1617. and

  1618. he

  1619. uses

  1620. four

  1621. participles

  1622. and

  1623. a

  1624. participle

  1625. is

  1626. just

  1627. something

  1628. that

  1629. is

  1630. an

  1631. action

  1632. that

  1633. continues

  1634. and

  1635. normally

  1636. in

  1637. the

  1638. English

  1639. language

  1640. you

  1641. can

  1642. identify

  1643. it

  1644. with

  1645. the

  1646. ending

  1647. ing

  1648. okay

  1649. so

  1650. let me

  1651. just

  1652. read

  1653. this

  1654. what

  1655. is

  1656. it

  1657. meant

  1658. to

  1659. produce

  1660. notice

  1661. we're

  1662. in

  1663. verse

  1664. 10

  1665. so

  1666. as

  1667. to

  1668. walk

  1669. in

  1670. a

  1671. manner

  1672. worthy

  1673. of

  1674. Lord

  1675. fully

  1676. pleasing

  1677. to

  1678. him

  1679. and

  1680. here's

  1681. the

  1682. first

  1683. one

  1684. bearing

  1685. fruit

  1686. in

  1687. every

  1688. good

  1689. work

  1690. and

  1691. second

  1692. one

  1693. is

  1694. increasing

  1695. in

  1696. the

  1697. knowledge

  1698. of

  1699. God

  1700. the

  1701. next

  1702. one

  1703. is

  1704. being

  1705. strengthened

  1706. with

  1707. all

  1708. joy

  1709. the

  1710. next

  1711. one

  1712. last

  1713. one

  1714. here

  1715. giving

  1716. thanks

  1717. to

  1718. the

  1719. father

  1720. who

  1721. has

  1722. qualified

  1723. you

  1724. to

  1725. share

  1726. in

  1727. the

  1728. inheritance

  1729. !

  1730. God

  1731. wants

  1732. us

  1733. to

  1734. be

  1735. people

  1736. who

  1737. demonstrate

  1738. and

  1739. illustrate

  1740. this

  1741. work

  1742. of

  1743. the

  1744. gospel

  1745. in

  1746. living

  1747. color

  1748. you

  1749. might

  1750. say

  1751. HD

  1752. high

  1753. definition

  1754. color

  1755. contrast

  1756. your

  1757. life

  1758. on

  1759. display

  1760. not

  1761. because

  1762. of

  1763. the

  1764. way

  1765. you're

  1766. living

  1767. because

  1768. what

  1769. Paul

  1770. will

  1771. say

  1772. Christ

  1773. who

  1774. lives

  1775. in

  1776. you

  1777. he

  1778. says

  1779. that

  1780. in

  1781. Galatians

    Galatians 2 chapter mention

  1782. chapter

  1783. 2

  1784. 20

  1785. he

  1786. says

  1787. I

  1788. am

  1789. crucified

  1790. with

  1791. Christ

  1792. it

  1793. is

  1794. not

  1795. I

  1796. who

  1797. live

  1798. it

  1799. is

  1800. not

  1801. me

  1802. but

  1803. Christ

  1804. who

  1805. lives

  1806. in

  1807. me

  1808. in

  1809. the

  1810. life

  1811. which

  1812. I

  1813. live

  1814. in

  1815. the

  1816. flesh

  1817. I

  1818. live

  1819. by

  1820. faith

  1821. in

  1822. the

  1823. Son

  1824. of

  1825. God

  1826. who

  1827. loves

  1828. me

  1829. and

  1830. gave

  1831. himself

  1832. for

  1833. me

  1834. and

  1835. so

  1836. when

  1837. your

  1838. life

  1839. shows

  1840. these

  1841. qualities

  1842. people

  1843. will

  1844. say

  1845. ha

  1846. God

  1847. is

  1848. at

  1849. work

  1850. God

  1851. is

  1852. doing

  1853. something

  1854. in

  1855. that

  1856. and

  1857. our

  1858. problem

  1859. our

  1860. problem

  1861. is

  1862. often

  1863. how do

  1864. I put

  1865. this

  1866. as

  1867. great

  1868. as

  1869. that

  1870. sounds

  1871. it's

  1872. too

  1873. much

  1874. work

  1875. you

  1876. know

  1877. what I'm

  1878. saying

  1879. like

  1880. I'm

  1881. feeling

  1882. feeling

  1883. okay

  1884. life

  1885. is

  1886. good

  1887. I

  1888. got

  1889. what

  1890. I

  1891. need

  1892. you

  1893. know

  1894. things

  1895. are

  1896. generally

  1897. working

  1898. for

  1899. my

  1900. favor

  1901. and

  1902. so

  1903. yeah

  1904. I

  1905. can

  1906. see

  1907. that

  1908. bearing

  1909. fruit

  1910. and

  1911. increasing

  1912. in

  1913. knowledge

  1914. and

  1915. and

  1916. all

  1917. of

  1918. these

  1919. things

  1920. and

  1921. giving

  1922. thanks

  1923. that's

  1924. important

  1925. but

  1926. but you

  1927. know

  1928. my

  1929. life

  1930. is

  1931. kind

  1932. of

  1933. okay

  1934. there's

  1935. no

  1936. wonder

  1937. then

  1938. why

  1939. we

  1940. as

  1941. a

  1942. person

  1943. and

  1944. we

  1945. as

  1946. a

  1947. church

  1948. will

  1949. never

  1950. change

  1951. this

  1952. world

  1953. because

  1954. it's

  1955. about

  1956. us

  1957. and

  1958. not

  1959. about

  1960. God

  1961. it's

  1962. about

  1963. our

  1964. glory

  1965. and

  1966. our

  1967. will

  1968. and

  1969. our

  1970. comforts

  1971. and

  1972. not

  1973. about

  1974. God's

  1975. glory

  1976. and

  1977. God's

  1978. kingdom

  1979. and

  1980. God's

  1981. purpose

  1982. and

  1983. God's

  1984. good

  1985. name

  1986. in

  1987. this

  1988. world

  1989. and

  1990. I

  1991. think

  1992. a good

  1993. starting

  1994. place

  1995. and

  1996. there's

  1997. so much

  1998. more

  1999. to say

  2000. by the

  2001. way

  2002. we're

  2003. going to

  2004. come back

  2005. to this

  2006. tonight

  2007. in our

  2008. time of

  2009. communion

  2010. we're

  2011. going to

  2012. talk

  2013. about

  2014. why

  2015. give

  2016. thanks

  2017. and

  2018. there's

  2019. three

  2020. things

  2021. that

  2022. have

  2023. been

  2024. done

  2025. for

  2026. you

  2027. you've

  2028. been

  2029. qualified

  2030. we see

  2031. that

  2032. in

  2033. verse

  2034. 13

  2035. 12

  2036. 13

  2037. you've

  2038. been

  2039. qualified

  2040. by

  2041. him

  2042. you

  2043. have

  2044. been

  2045. delivered

  2046. by

  2047. him

  2048. you've

  2049. been

  2050. transferred

  2051. by

  2052. him

  2053. these

  2054. are

  2055. all

  2056. in

  2057. the

  2058. past

  2059. tense

  2060. there

  2061. are

  2062. things

  2063. that

  2064. have

  2065. already

  2066. happened

  2067. for

  2068. those

  2069. who

  2070. are

  2071. in

  2072. faith

  2073. and

  2074. so

  2075. there's

  2076. no

  2077. wonder

  2078. why

  2079. we should

  2080. be

  2081. thankful

  2082. because

  2083. of

  2084. the

  2085. work

  2086. of

  2087. God

  2088. on

  2089. our

  2090. behalf

  2091. oh

  2092. may

  2093. God

  2094. help

  2095. us

  2096. to

  2097. be

  2098. a

  2099. thankful

  2100. people

  2101. oh

  2102. may

  2103. God

  2104. help

  2105. us

  2106. to

  2107. be

  2108. a

  2109. praying

  2110. people

  2111. will

  2112. you

  2113. join

  2114. me

  2115. in

  2116. the

  2117. next

  2118. three

  2119. months

  2120. of

  2121. committing

  2122. ourselves

  2123. to

  2124. faith

  2125. in

  2126. God

  2127. through

  2128. prayer

  2129. and

  2130. thanks

  2131. will

  2132. you

  2133. just

  2134. experiment

  2135. with

  2136. me

  2137. see

  2138. what

  2139. God

  2140. might

  2141. do

  2142. as

  2143. we

  2144. set

  2145. aside

  2146. time

  2147. the

  2148. best

  2149. time

  2150. I

  2151. would

  2152. say

  2153. if

  2154. that's

  2155. for

  2156. you

  2157. in

  2158. the

  2159. morning

  2160. if

  2161. that's

  2162. for

  2163. you

  2164. in

  2165. the

  2166. afternoon

  2167. if

  2168. that's

  2169. for

  2170. you

  2171. in

  2172. the

  2173. I

  2174. don't

  2175. know

  2176. when

  2177. that's

  2178. going

  2179. to

  2180. be

  2181. but

  2182. it's

  2183. got

  2184. to

  2185. be

  2186. a

  2187. time

  2188. that's

  2189. free

  2190. of

  2191. distraction

  2192. it's

  2193. got

  2194. to be

  2195. time

  2196. you

  2197. push

  2198. things

  2199. away

  2200. it's

  2201. got

  2202. to

  2203. be

  2204. time

  2205. that

  2206. you

  2207. are

  2208. able

  2209. to

  2210. focus

  2211. and

  2212. concentrate

  2213. your

  2214. heart

  2215. for

  2216. any

  2217. length

  2218. of

  2219. time

  2220. without

  2221. interruptions

  2222. so you

  2223. can

  2224. devote

  2225. your

  2226. heart

  2227. to

  2228. him

  2229. and

  2230. plead

  2231. for

  2232. his

  2233. help

  2234. the

  2235. knowledge

  2236. of

  2237. his

  2238. will

  2239. that

  2240. you're

  2241. bearing

  2242. fruit

  2243. and

  2244. having

  2245. a

  2246. worthy

  2247. walk

  2248. and

  2249. that

  2250. God

  2251. is

  2252. pleased

  2253. through

  2254. our

  2255. lives

  2256. oh

  2257. what

  2258. might

  2259. God

  2260. do

  2261. with

  2262. a

  2263. heart

  2264. that

  2265. is

  2266. yielded

  2267. to

  2268. him

  2269. in

  2270. this

  2271. way

  2272. walk

  2273. this

  2274. journey

  2275. with

  2276. me

  2277. and

  2278. we'll

  2279. see

  2280. oh

  2281. father

  2282. thank

  2283. you

  2284. for

  2285. your

  2286. patience

  2287. with

  2288. us

  2289. thank

  2290. you

  2291. for

  2292. your

  2293. work

  2294. of

  2295. salvation

  2296. we

  2297. can

  2298. think

  2299. about

  2300. the

  2301. last

  2302. verse

  2303. of

  2304. this

  2305. passage

  2306. which

  2307. talks

  2308. about

  2309. the

  2310. fact

  2311. that

  2312. we

  2313. have

  2314. been

  2315. redeemed

  2316. through

  2317. him

  2318. we

  2319. have

  2320. redemption

  2321. the

  2322. forgiveness

  2323. of

  2324. sins

  2325. and

  2326. that

  2327. is

  2328. only

  2329. possible

  2330. because

  2331. of

  2332. Jesus

  2333. God

  2334. we

  2335. praise

  2336. you

  2337. for

  2338. that

  2339. and

  2340. we

  2341. ask

  2342. that

  2343. our

  2344. lives

  2345. would

  2346. be

  2347. marked

  2348. with

  2349. thanksgiving

  2350. for

  2351. what

  2352. you

  2353. have

  2354. done

  2355. in

  2356. Jesus

  2357. name

  2358. amen

  2359. will

  2360. you

  2361. stand

  2362. with

  2363. me

  2364. and

  2365. we're

  2366. just

  2367. going

  2368. to

  2369. end

  2370. up

  2371. just

  2372. end

  2373. with

  2374. this

  2375. thanking

  2376. Jesus

  2377. with

  2378. every

  2379. breath

  2380. sing

  2381. together

  2382. with

  2383. every

  2384. breath

  2385. I

  2386. long

  2387. to

  2388. follow

  2389. Jesus

  2390. for

  2391. he

  2392. has

  2393. said

  2394. that

  2395. he

  2396. will

  2397. bring

  2398. me

  2399. home

  2400. and

  2401. day

  2402. by

  2403. day

  2404. I

  2405. know

  2406. he

  2407. will

  2408. renew

  2409. me

  2410. until

  2411. I

  2412. stand

  2413. with

  2414. joy

  2415. before

  2416. the

  2417. throne

  2418. to

  2419. this

  2420. I

  2421. hold

  2422. my

  2423. hope

  2424. is

  2425. only

  2426. Jesus

  2427. all

  2428. glory

  2429. evermore

  2430. to

  2431. him

  2432. with

  2433. the

  2434. races

  2435. complete

  2436. still

  2437. my

  2438. lips

  2439. shall

  2440. repeat

  2441. yet

  2442. not

  2443. I

  2444. but

  2445. through

  2446. Christ

  2447. in

  2448. me

  2449. yet

  2450. not

  2451. I

  2452. yet

  2453. not

  2454. I

  2455. but

  2456. through

  2457. Christ

  2458. in

  2459. me

  2460. prayer

  2461. prayer

  2462. and

  2463. thanks

  2464. that

  2465. will

  2466. not

  2467. only

  2468. be

  2469. the

  2470. anthem

  2471. of

  2472. our

  2473. hearts

  2474. but

  2475. it

  2476. will

  2477. be

  2478. the

  2479. invitation

  2480. really

  2481. of

  2482. those

  2483. around

  2484. us

  2485. to

  2486. know

  2487. hey

  2488. there's

  2489. not

  2490. only

  2491. something

  2492. quite

  2493. profound

  2494. and

  2495. powerful

  2496. but

  2497. it's

  2498. something

  2499. maybe

  2500. that

  2501. I

  2502. can

  2503. have

  2504. too

  2505. may

  2506. our

  2507. lives

  2508. reflect

  2509. the

  2510. wonder

  2511. of

  2512. God

  2513. this

  2514. week

  2515. thanks

  2516. !

  2517. for

  2518. coming

  2519. God

  2520. bless

  2521. !

  2522. you

  2523. I

  2524. hope

  2525. to

  2526. see

  2527. !

  2528. night

  2529. come

  2530. tonight
