  1. Good morning, church.

  2. I'm really excited to bring the word this morning.

  3. ! I'm excited to talk through God's word this morning with you guys.

  4. ! I'd like to go ahead and pray for us before we start, though.

  5. So let's pray.

  6. Father, thank you so much for all the people you've given us this weekend

  7. to pour over the scriptures

  8. and consider what it means to press pause,

  9. to prioritize prayer,

  10. to prioritize scripture in our lives.

  11. Lord, as we continue on this morning

  12. and we look how we can press play,

  13. God, I pray that you would hide me behind you,

  14. that you would speak mightily through the word this morning,

  15. and God, I pray that you would just,

  16. I pray that you would continue to move in these students' lives.

  17. We talked about highlights,

  18. but God, I pray that you help us to remember how to carry on,

  19. how to carry on from here with what we've learned,

  20. and God, just help us to remember the things that we've learned this weekend.

  21. Lord, thank you for all you've done.

  22. Thank you for what you're going to do this morning.

  23. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.

  24. Well, if you are planning on following us this morning in the scripture,

  25. Matthew 28 is where we're going to start.

  26. So Matthew 28, if you'll turn there really quick.

  27. I already did this, but I just want to say it again.

  28. Thank you so much to everybody who helped out.

  29. If you prayed, if you brought snacks, if you did all those things.

  30. Man, I'm telling you,

  31. my team was awesome.

  32. The people who were able to be boots on the ground right there,

  33. moving things back and forth.

  34. You guys are lifesavers,

  35. and so I'm just so grateful for all that you all have done.

  36. I also want to let you guys know that this week,

  37. yes, there was a lot of great gospel conversation.

  38. I want you to know that it was definitely a fruitful weekend.

  39. I'm not going to say the name of the student,

  40. but someone has professed and confessed faith in Christ this weekend.

  41. Someone's trusting Jesus this weekend.

  42. So that gives a round of applause right there.

  43. Absolutely.

  44. Praise the Lord for that.

  45. And I had another student talk to me about baptism as well.

  46. So the Lord is definitely moving in this place,

  47. and we do worship Him.

  48. We do worship Him.

  49. One thing we did this weekend,

  50. you may have seen some of the pictures up there on that recap video.

  51. We did a gospel service project, basically.

  52. So what we did was we went out to a couple neighborhoods,

  53. went to the Centennial, went to Country Club,

  54. and we did a canned food drive.

  55. And so some of our students went around,

  56. knocked on doors,

  57. but we had gospel tracts.

  58. If you know what a gospel tract is,

  59. and I have to thank Wade Pierce for helping me out with that,

  60. get some gospel tracts.

  61. Gospel tracts are basically just little ways

  62. that if you don't know how to share the gospel with your words,

  63. you can say,

  64. I wanted to give this gift to you.

  65. And it's a gift of the gospel.

  66. And on that little piece of paper

  67. or whatever form or media it may be,

  68. it is just a gospel laid out for somebody.

  69. So our students went to homes,

  70. knocked on doors,

  71. asked for cans of canned goods.

  72. We're going to take to the mission

  73. or to the outrage here in town.

  74. And then they also said,

  75. well, thank you for that

  76. or thank you for your consideration.

  77. Wanted to leave you with this.

  78. So they got gospel tracts.

  79. So our students got to participate

  80. in sharing the gospel this weekend.

  81. And that's another mighty way that God moved,

  82. that our students got to partake in evangelism.

  83. So that's another major thing in the Christian life

  84. is baptism and evangelism.

  85. Sorry.

  86. The other thing I want to report

  87. is we only had one bloody nose.

  88. And if you guys know me,

  89. if you heard me talk about this,

  90. my students know,

  91. what's my one rule in youth ministry?

  92. No blood.

  93. So we only got it one time.

  94. We did really good.

  95. We did really good.

  96. It's okay.

  97. I won't say who did it.

  98. I won't say how it happened.

  99. But I will say that it did happen

  100. at the last junior high involvement.

  101. So that gives you any indication

  102. of what group this may have happened in.

  103. And it was at Dodgeball.

  104. It was in Dodgeball.

  105. So that was really fun.

  106. I also wanted to let you guys know

  107. that this is really interesting

  108. how God works on things.

  109. I hadn't really planned

  110. and thought through how I wanted to do it,

  111. but the sermon series we've been going through

  112. with the youth on Wednesday nights

  113. has been called Follow.

  114. So we learned what it means

  115. to be disciples of Christ.

  116. And so the first session was going through

  117. that Christ initiates relationships with us.

  118. He initiates it.

  119. We don't go to Him.

  120. He comes to us,

  121. which makes a whole world of a difference

  122. because if I tried to go to Him,

  123. I'm always failing on that.

  124. I'm always failing on going to Christ.

  125. But Christ came and found me

  126. in my spiritual death.

  127. And then we talked about,

  128. the second thing we talked about,

  129. sorry,

  130. the second thing we talked about

  131. was how Jesus does not just make change possible.

  132. It is going to happen.

  133. If you are a disciple of Christ,

  134. your life is changed.

  135. And I give this illustration

  136. to students all the time.

  137. I won't use it

  138. because I don't have a whole lot of time.

  139. But basically the idea is that

  140. if I came before you

  141. and said that I got hit by a bus yesterday

  142. and I stand before you like this,

  143. did I get hit by a bus?

  144. I'm lying to you.

  145. I've not been changed.

  146. And so when we encounter the gospel,

  147. we're changed radically.

  148. And it may not be immediately

  149. that it happens all the time for us.

  150. It may be over time

  151. as we grow in Christ.

  152. Some people's conversions,

  153. when they come to Christ,

  154. like I was a drug addict

  155. and I was an alcoholic

  156. and then Jesus saved me out of this

  157. and that's amazing.

  158. And then there's the really mundane one

  159. where it's like,

  160. well, I was eight years old

  161. and I got saved in church.

  162. No, both those salvations

  163. are incredibly amazing

  164. because the God of the universe

  165. looked down on you and said,

  166. I want that one.

  167. The God of the universe said,

  168. I sent my son for that one,

  169. that sinner.

  170. Everybody's equal in that playing field.

  171. So we talked about that

  172. in Christ,

  173. change is not only possible,

  174. it will happen.

  175. The third thing we talked about

  176. was that a disciple of Christ

  177. is what?

  178. Starts with an O.

  179. Obedient.

  180. Yes.

  181. Disciple of Christ is obedient.

  182. And I used a little phrase,

  183. if you guys remember,

  184. it says discipline produces.

  185. That's true,

  186. but discipline produces delight.

  187. Delight.

  188. Yeah, there we go.

  189. I heard it.

  190. Discipline produces delight.

  191. And so what we talked about

  192. was that in sports

  193. or anything you do,

  194. if you want to really enjoy your game,

  195. the sport you play

  196. or the instrument you play

  197. or whatever,

  198. it's not enjoyable

  199. to play football

  200. and not know how to tackle.

  201. I can say that from experience

  202. because my seventh grade year,

  203. I never played football before.

  204. I was new to the state

  205. and I found out

  206. that football was a religion,

  207. especially in Berkford, Texas.

  208. And I love my little town,

  209. but man,

  210. if you want to be cool,

  211. you play football.

  212. I want to be cool,

  213. so I play football.

  214. And I remember I tried to tackle

  215. and someone told me,

  216. they said,

  217. like, you can't be a spider monkey.

  218. That doesn't work.

  219. Because I jumped on people's backs

  220. and they're like,

  221. and I was like,

  222. well, I want to be like my dad.

  223. I'm going to be a running back.

  224. So I said,

  225. let's give me the ball.

  226. So I got the ball,

  227. but I had the nose

  228. the wrong way

  229. and it hurt really bad

  230. when I got hit by the linebacker.

  231. So what I'm trying to get to,

  232. though,

  233. is that I had no understanding

  234. of the game of football

  235. and how to play it.

  236. And in a similar sense,

  237. if we have no understanding of Christ,

  238. we have no clue how to walk in Christ,

  239. we won't be able to delight in Christ.

  240. So how do we learn

  241. how to grow in Christ?

  242. We go where?

  243. To the Bible,

  244. to the scriptures.

  245. And as we discipline ourselves

  246. in being diligent

  247. in reading and in prayer,

  248. we become,

  249. we get to a place

  250. where we are able to delight

  251. in the Lord all the day long

  252. and delight in the words

  253. and delight in the law.

  254. Just like when I started learning

  255. how to play piano,

  256. it was a grueling task

  257. where I was still under the reign

  258. of a teacher who used the ruler

  259. and smacked my hand

  260. when I did it wrong.

  261. But then I learned

  262. through discipline

  263. and learning it

  264. that I enjoy playing piano

  265. and I can play freely

  266. and I can enjoy it.

  267. So discipline in piano

  268. produced delight

  269. in playing piano.

  270. In a similar sense,

  271. discipline in the Lord

  272. produces delight in the Lord.

  273. So a disciple,

  274. discipline, disciple,

  275. is obedient

  276. and that obedience

  277. produces delight

  278. in the believer.

  279. And the last session

  280. we talked about

  281. was almost over

  282. the exact same thing

  283. that we talked about

  284. for this last session

  285. for us this morning.

  286. following Christ

  287. means a disciple maker

  288. or disciple makes disciples.

  289. We were all disciple makers.

  290. No one in here

  291. is on JV

  292. or varsity Christian.

  293. So who,

  294. who played a varsity sport?

  295. I played a varsity sport.

  296. Oh yeah,

  297. I played soccer

  298. at Burke Burnett.

  299. We did really good.

  300. No we didn't.

  301. You guys can laugh at that.

  302. Burke Burnett's not known

  303. for their soccer.

  304. We were known for basketball

  305. back in the day

  306. when I was there.

  307. But the interesting thing

  308. that we really talked about

  309. was that Christ commands us

  310. to be disciple makers.

  311. If we're following him

  312. we are disciple makers.

  313. And so this weekend

  314. that ties in,

  315. that,

  316. those messages

  317. we've gone through

  318. the past few weeks

  319. with our students

  320. on Wednesday nights

  321. tied in really nicely

  322. with pressing pause.

  323. That was our theme.

  324. If you've seen anybody

  325. with a blue shirt on

  326. you know it says

  327. the pause.

  328. And so

  329. in true youth pastor form

  330. what do you think

  331. I mean by the pause?

  332. What do you think

  333. I mean by pause?

  334. Okay,

  335. yeah?

  336. Pausing on a normal day life

  337. to spend time with Jesus.

  338. I love that.

  339. That's great.

  340. The definition they gave,

  341. I love this definition.

  342. Seeking God in silence

  343. and solitude

  344. through prayer

  345. and Bible study.

  346. When we press play,

  347. so we press pause,

  348. we're saying

  349. I'm going to take time

  350. to go spend time

  351. with the Lord.

  352. Who here,

  353. I asked this this morning

  354. of our students,

  355. who here is involved

  356. in more than three things

  357. in your life?

  358. Yeah.

  359. Who here does work?

  360. It's maybe a husband

  361. or a wife,

  362. has kids,

  363. sports,

  364. UIL stuff.

  365. Name it.

  366. There's probably that

  367. in the church somewhere.

  368. We are so busy today.

  369. We are such a busy people

  370. and we don't know

  371. how to rest in Christ

  372. and slow down.

  373. And at best,

  374. we may say,

  375. I'm going to give you Jesus.

  376. I'm going to give you five minutes

  377. to tell me all you need

  378. to tell me

  379. and we're good.

  380. That's my Jesus for the week.

  381. Five minutes.

  382. But we're really good

  383. at consuming ESPN,

  384. you know,

  385. multiple times a day,

  386. multiple days a week,

  387. and multiple weeks

  388. of the year.

  389. We're really good at,

  390. I'm not going to try

  391. to pick on you guys

  392. too much right here,

  393. but TikTok or YouTube

  394. or whatever else.

  395. We're really good

  396. at consuming that.

  397. And we talked about this morning,

  398. I think it's really important,

  399. we talked about how,

  400. if you saw that silly game

  401. we were doing with the board,

  402. what basically happened was,

  403. I'm an artist,

  404. okay,

  405. artist by nature.

  406. I drew beautiful pictures.

  407. Yeah,

  408. one of them said.

  409. I drew beautiful pictures

  410. of layouts of my home

  411. and if you know

  412. what my home looks like,

  413. imagine that,

  414. but someone who's never done

  415. any kind of architectural stuff

  416. tried to draw it.

  417. It was atrocious.

  418. But I drew my layout

  419. in my home

  420. and the students

  421. had the task

  422. of wearing upside down goggles,

  423. so they saw

  424. everything upside down,

  425. and they had to imitate

  426. my drawing

  427. in 30 seconds.

  428. Where I took like

  429. a minute and a half,

  430. they had to do it

  431. in 30 seconds.

  432. So the point I tried

  433. to make with them

  434. was that

  435. listening to the world,

  436. which is what we take

  437. in most of the time,

  438. listening to the world a lot,

  439. listening to the world

  440. is like listening

  441. to somebody

  442. with upside down goggles

  443. trying to imitate

  444. the perfect drawing

  445. that God has laid out

  446. for us in Scripture.

  447. Upside down goggles

  448. make it so that

  449. when you're walking,

  450. like here's my hand,

  451. it's like this,

  452. but this high up.

  453. And I have to look like this

  454. and around

  455. and try to find the right way.

  456. We don't want to wear

  457. upside down goggles.

  458. And we don't want to imitate

  459. somebody who doesn't even know

  460. what the real drawing looks like.

  461. Because most of the time

  462. when they drew it,

  463. they said,

  464. I'm going to take

  465. a quick look at it,

  466. goggles on,

  467. I'm going full blast,

  468. going right into it.

  469. And so that was the danger

  470. that we have in our lives

  471. is that we don't press pause

  472. to spend time with the Lord

  473. and come and know who He is.

  474. One more illustration

  475. I'll kind of give

  476. and then I'll get into

  477. the text this morning.

  478. I think this one's really powerful.

  479. We,

  480. I picked on Aubrey Pierce

  481. this morning,

  482. but I need a new volunteer,

  483. one new volunteer

  484. to get picked on.

  485. So yeah,

  486. let's use,

  487. I'm going to use,

  488. I'm going to use Caleb Wilson.

  489. I'm going to use Caleb Wilson.

  490. He's on the edge over here.

  491. Okay.

  492. So you guys,

  493. Caleb is one of my favorite people.

  494. He's my,

  495. my best friends.

  496. Okay.

  497. He is a two foot two,

  498. heavens to Betsy.

  499. He's a two foot two.

  500. That's right.

  501. That's right.

  502. He's a two foot two

  503. basketball all-star

  504. who hates wrestling

  505. and can't do it

  506. anywhere near good.

  507. He,

  508. he's really,

  509. really,

  510. really good

  511. at being very

  512. disobedient

  513. and like,

  514. he's like,

  515. he's not good with manners.

  516. So,

  517. you know,

  518. I'm trying to work on him a lot.

  519. Guys,

  520. is that Caleb?

  521. No.

  522. First off,

  523. he's not two foot two.

  524. If he was two foot two,

  525. my son's taller than you,

  526. my man.

  527. Come on.

  528. But,

  529. the point is,

  530. I'm not describing Caleb,

  531. but I'm,

  532. I think Caleb's my best friend.

  533. I don't know the true Caleb.

  534. In a similar way,

  535. if we have a Jesus

  536. that we formulate

  537. or we steal from the world

  538. as our Jesus,

  539. we're not loving truly

  540. who Jesus is.

  541. And so,

  542. that's big for us here.

  543. We don't want to follow

  544. a false Jesus.

  545. There's a lot of religions

  546. in the world

  547. that lead us to false Jesus.

  548. Just to name a few,

  549. not to pick on things,

  550. but the ones I've studied

  551. the most,

  552. like Mormonism

  553. and Islam

  554. and Buddhism

  555. and Hinduism,

  556. they lead you

  557. to the wrong Jesus

  558. every time.

  559. They have their own picture

  560. of him.

  561. Jehovah's Witness,

  562. those who believe

  563. that he is Michael the Archangel,

  564. we need to be careful

  565. of what we're taking in

  566. and consuming.

  567. And then,

  568. we have this danger

  569. of hearing it

  570. from the people

  571. we think are the most influential.

  572. And oftentimes,

  573. they have it the most wrong.

  574. So,

  575. we'll go ahead

  576. and dive into the word here.

  577. This just gives you

  578. a picture of the idea

  579. of why we need to pause.

  580. If we don't pause,

  581. we run the risk

  582. of just running

  583. into whatever the world

  584. says is Jesus.

  585. Let me read the text

  586. for us this morning.

  587. It's Matthew 28,

  588. 16 through 20.

  589. Now,

  590. the eleven disciples

  591. went to Galilee

  592. to the mountain

  593. to which Jesus

  594. had directed them.

  595. And when they saw him,

  596. they worshipped him.

  597. But some doubted.

  598. And Jesus came

  599. and said to them,

  600. all authority in heaven

  601. and on earth

  602. has been given to me.

  603. Go therefore

  604. and make disciples

  605. of all nations,

  606. baptizing them

  607. in the name of the Father

  608. and of the Son

  609. and the Holy Spirit,

  610. teaching them to observe

  611. all that I have commanded you.

  612. And behold,

  613. I am with you always

  614. to the end of the age.

  615. So,

  616. I think it's important

  617. why we did that series.

  618. I think God is really,

  619. really amazing

  620. at working things out.

  621. We went through

  622. our follow series

  623. that Jesus initiates

  624. relationships.

  625. He changes us,

  626. calls us to obedience

  627. and he calls us

  628. to make disciples.

  629. And right here,

  630. we see that

  631. in the Great Commission

  632. that we are called

  633. to make disciples.

  634. So,

  635. the first thing

  636. is that Jesus

  637. is speaking from

  638. an authority,

  639. not just like,

  640. oh,

  641. I'm the guy

  642. who's in charge.

  643. He's speaking

  644. as an authority

  645. as I am God.

  646. And you are my creation

  647. but you're also

  648. my followers.

  649. And I love you

  650. but I give you

  651. this command.

  652. And this is not

  653. to try to step

  654. on anybody's toes

  655. but how often

  656. are we making disciples

  657. right now?

  658. In your own personal life.

  659. This is again,

  660. not to step on any toes

  661. because I've not always

  662. been the best

  663. at making disciples

  664. but Jesus tells us

  665. that we are

  666. to make disciples.

  667. Whatever stage

  668. of life you're in.

  669. I don't care

  670. if you are

  671. 12 years old

  672. and you've come

  673. to Christ

  674. or you're

  675. 112 years old

  676. and you've been

  677. in Christ

  678. for X amount

  679. of years.

  680. You don't retire

  681. as a Christian

  682. here on earth.

  683. You are always

  684. making disciples.

  685. Whether that's

  686. your children

  687. in your home,

  688. whether that's

  689. husbands you're

  690. helping to walk

  691. your wives

  692. through scripture

  693. or wives you're

  694. helping your husbands

  695. understand like,

  696. hey, maybe you're

  697. wrong on this.

  698. My wife's done that

  699. to me a couple times.

  700. But Christ comes

  701. and gives us

  702. authority.

  703. He says that

  704. he has the authority

  705. to do these things

  706. but he says

  707. I'm going to give

  708. you the mission.

  709. Isn't that significant

  710. that Jesus says

  711. I have all authority

  712. on heaven and earth

  713. but I task you

  714. with this mission.

  715. That must mean

  716. that we

  717. have a real mission

  718. to do.

  719. It's not just

  720. a, hey,

  721. here's something

  722. you can do

  723. to be a good Christian.

  724. It's a,

  725. if you are a believer

  726. and you love me,

  727. you will do

  728. as I command.

  729. You will make disciples.

  730. His disciples

  731. devoted themselves

  732. to leading others

  733. to follow Christ

  734. as we go through,

  735. as they go through

  736. in their lives

  737. and as I said,

  738. there are,

  739. I love that phrase,

  740. there's no JV

  741. or varsity Christians.

  742. There are no JV,

  743. what do I mean by that?

  744. What do I mean

  745. that there's no JV

  746. or varsity Christians?

  747. Students can't answer,

  748. but maybe an adult,

  749. what does it mean

  750. there are no JV

  751. or varsity Christians

  752. in the church?

  753. Sorry?

  754. There's no second string people.

  755. You're not a second string person

  756. in the body of Christ,

  757. which means we're

  758. all on the team,

  759. all on the field,

  760. at all times.

  761. Some people play

  762. different roles.

  763. I played soccer

  764. all my life

  765. and the goalie

  766. does not do

  767. what the striker does.

  768. The guy who scores

  769. the goals at the front,

  770. the goalie does not

  771. do the same thing.

  772. And the striker

  773. can't even use his hands.

  774. The goalie can.

  775. We all have

  776. a different purpose

  777. in the body,

  778. but nobody is

  779. a second string Christian,

  780. which means

  781. that you have

  782. the same responsibility

  783. as the professional Christians,

  784. those guys who are

  785. the big speakers

  786. at camps,

  787. those guys that are

  788. the music people

  789. that you see on TV.

  790. You have the same responsibility

  791. to make disciples

  792. as they do.

  793. And they have

  794. the same responsibility

  795. to make disciples

  796. as you do.

  797. Because some of them

  798. don't always live up

  799. to what they preach.

  800. I want to go ahead

  801. and go to Acts 1,

    Acts 1:8

  802. verse 8.

  803. You can stay where you are.

  804. I'll go there really quick.

  805. But it says this

  806. in Acts 1, verse 8.

    Acts 1:8

  807. It says,

  808. But you will receive power

  809. when the Holy Spirit

  810. has come upon you,

  811. and you will be

  812. my witnesses

  813. in Jerusalem

  814. and all Judea

  815. and Samaria

  816. and to the end

  817. of the earth.

  818. So it's clear

  819. from Matthew

  820. and from here in Acts

  821. that Jesus

  822. has something

  823. very specific in mind

  824. when the church

  825. was founded.

  826. Jesus wanted

  827. his followers

  828. to be in the business

  829. of multiplication.

  830. That's our job.

  831. He wanted his disciples

  832. to be people

  833. who led others

  834. to become disciples

  835. of Christ.

  836. Christ.

  837. And that's what God

  838. wants for you

  839. to do today as well.

  840. So students,

  841. as we've learned

  842. about God's word,

  843. we've taken time

  844. to press pause.

  845. We did two things.

  846. We prioritized prayer

  847. because as Pastor Mikey,

  848. our speaker,

  849. who spoke so well

  850. this weekend,

  851. said to us,

  852. Prayer aligns

  853. our hearts

  854. with God.

  855. Prayer aligns

  856. our hearts

  857. with God.

  858. Which means that

  859. when we come in prayer

  860. and we come to the Lord

  861. in prayer,

  862. we are taking time

  863. to speak to God.

  864. And then Scripture

  865. also does the same thing,

  866. aligns us with God

  867. because we are hearing

  868. from God.

  869. We're coming to know

  870. who God is.

  871. So,

  872. we make time

  873. to seek God

  874. by pressing pause.

  875. And that's how

  876. we lay the foundation

  877. for our life.

  878. We have to be able

  879. to prepare ourselves

  880. to obey the Lord.

  881. So,

  882. anybody ever taken time

  883. to look at last words

  884. of famous people?

  885. Is that a weird thing?

  886. Last words

  887. of famous people?

  888. There's a guy

  889. who,

  890. it was Pope Alexander,

  891. one of the popes,

  892. many different

  893. Alexander popes.

  894. He says,

  895. wait a minute.

  896. That was his last word.

  897. Wait a minute.

  898. Caesar Augustus

  899. has reported to have said,

  900. the play is over.

  901. Applaud.

  902. I think his name

  903. is Max Baer.

  904. He was a boxer.

  905. He said,

  906. here I go.

  907. Here I go.

  908. Winston Churchill said,

  909. I'm so bored with it all.

  910. What a thing to say.

  911. Very callous.

  912. George Harrison,

  913. one of the Beatles,

  914. he said,

  915. love one another.

  916. You know,

  917. like their Beatles voice,

  918. love one another.

  919. I can't do the British

  920. nasal voice very well.

  921. Teddy Roosevelt said,

  922. please put out the light.

  923. And then one of the most

  924. recent ones we had

  925. was Steve Jobs.

  926. You know what he said?

  927. Wow,

  928. wow,

  929. wow.

  930. Why was he amazed?

  931. I have no clue.

  932. But he said,

  933. wow,

  934. wow,

  935. wow.

  936. Whether he was seeing

  937. a glimpse of eternity

  938. before his eyes,

  939. whether he was seeing

  940. the significance

  941. or insignificance

  942. of his life,

  943. either live for Christ

  944. or not live for Christ,

  945. I don't know if he was

  946. a believer or not.

  947. I've not looked into that.

  948. But those words

  949. capture our attention

  950. because they have

  951. this gravitas.

  952. They have this thing

  953. that just kind of

  954. draws us in.

  955. Why would you say

  956. those words?

  957. Why were those

  958. the last words

  959. you said to us?

  960. So we have to ask

  961. that question.

  962. Why were the words

  963. that Jesus said,

  964. why were those

  965. the last words

  966. he said?

  967. Well,

  968. he knew that these

  969. would be his last words,

  970. obviously.

  971. These people did not

  972. really know

  973. or particularly knew that.

  974. But Christ knew

  975. these would be

  976. the last words he said

  977. and he was in full control

  978. of the words he said

  979. to them.

  980. He was not waiting to die.

  981. He knew it was going

  982. to happen

  983. and he was intentional

  984. as he always is intentional.

  985. And so,

  986. just a little aside,

  987. we said something

  988. this morning

  989. and it's just been

  990. hitting my heart

  991. since I heard it.

  992. The same God

  993. that you believe

  994. is slow to answer

  995. your prayers

  996. is also slow

  997. to punish you

  998. in your sin.

  999. The same God

  1000. that is slow

  1001. to answer your prayers

1002. is slow to punish you

  1003. in your sin.

  1004. Which leads me

  1005. to say that

  1006. he is a gracious,

  1007. merciful God

  1008. and that you

  1009. can trust him,

  1010. you can love him

  1011. because he is intentional

  1012. with what happens

1013. to you in your life.

  1014. You may believe

  1015. on him.

  1016. So,

  1017. Jesus knew

  1018. the exact circumstances

  1019. that were happening

  1020. around him

  1021. and he knew

  1022. that they were

  1023. going to be recorded

  1024. as scripture.

  1025. We've seen Jesus

  1026. tell the followers here

  1027. to be disciples

  1028. and to make them

  1029. but

  1030. we have to ask

  1031. the question,

  1032. what is a disciple?

  1033. We kind of talked

1034. about that with the youth

  1035. the other day.

  1036. What is a disciple?

  1037. A disciple

  1038. is one who learns.

  1039. The original youth

  1040. was just like

  1041. one who learns,

  1042. a learner.

  1043. So,

  1044. if you're a disciple

  1045. of a rabbi,

  1046. you are a learner

  1047. of your

  1048. rabbi.

  1049. If you're a disciple

  1050. of Dallas Cowboys,

  1051. you are a learner

  1052. of the Cowboys.

1053. If you are a disciple

  1054. of X, Y, and Z,

  1055. you're a learner

  1056. of that.

  1057. That's kind of

  1058. the original use

  1059. of the word.

  1060. But it means

  1061. that learner

  1062. is very devoted

  1063. though.

  1064. Very devoted.

  1065. So,

  1066. as we go to,

  1067. we're in a lot

  1068. of scriptures

  1069. this morning

  1070. so you don't have

  1071. to turn around

  1072. everything,

  1073. but Luke 14,

  1074. 27,

  1075. it says this.

  1076. Luke 14,

  1077. 27.

  1078. Let me turn around.

  1079. It says,

  1080. whoever does not

  1081. bear his own cross

  1082. and come after me

  1083. cannot be my disciple.

  1084. So,

  1085. a disciple is not

  1086. just a learner.

  1087. Jesus took the word

  1088. disciple and gave it

  1089. a whole new meaning

  1090. and purpose.

  1091. A new power.

  1092. Anyone who does not

  1093. carry his cross

  1094. and follow me

  1095. cannot be my disciple.

  1096. That doesn't just

  1097. mean I learn.

  1098. That means I'm

  1099. going to be

  1100. interacting with

  1101. exactly how

  1102. what I'm learning

  1103. from did.

1104. And also in Luke 14,

  1105. 33,

  1106. he says,

  1107. in the same way,

1108. any of you who does

  1109. not give up everything

  1110. he has cannot be

  1111. my disciple.

  1112. And then Luke 9,

  1113. 23 also says,

  1114. if anyone would

  1115. come after me,

  1116. he must deny himself

1117. and take up his cross

  1118. daily and follow me.

  1119. So,

  1120. the idea of being

  1121. a disciple is not

  1122. just,

1123. as it used to mean,

  1124. just a learner.

  1125. It's actually that

  1126. we are to be

  1127. totally sold out

  1128. for following Christ.

  1129. It's putting our

  1130. devotion to Christ

  1131. first and everything

  1132. else second.

1133. A better way to look

1134. at it is not even that.

1135. A better way to look

  1136. at it is like,

  1137. someone mentioned

  1138. the,

  1139. I think,

1140. one of the small group

  1141. leaders actually

  1142. mentioned this to me

  1143. on a car ride.

  1144. We shouldn't look at

  1145. like Christ as

1146. a slice of the pie

  1147. or the biggest slice

  1148. of the pie.

  1149. We should say that

  1150. Christ is the crust,

1151. the foundation of the pie

  1152. and everything else

  1153. sits on it.

  1154. Because,

  1155. yeah,

  1156. the pie filling

  1157. is good and tasty,

  1158. but let's be real,

  1159. the crust,

  1160. crust is kind of

  1161. the most important part.

  1162. Because without it,

  1163. you just get soup.

1164. You just get pudding soup.

  1165. And that's,

  1166. it's a whole thing.

  1167. You don't want that.

  1168. But the crust,

  1169. the foundation,

1170. is the most important part.

  1171. Christ is the foundation,

  1172. not the first

1173. or second thing in life,

  1174. the foundation

  1175. of our lives.

  1176. So that means

1177. being a disciple of Christ

1178. is living as God's children,

  1179. taking on His ways

  1180. and His purpose.

  1181. As believers of Christ,

  1182. we are called

  1183. to make God known.

1184. We're called to lead others

  1185. into a saving relationship

  1186. with Christ,

  1187. which is amazing

  1188. that that happened

  1189. this weekend.

1190. One of our small group leaders

1191. was able to walk a student

  1192. into understanding the gospel.

1193. And this person did this,

  1194. not just once,

  1195. this person wanted

  1196. to be diligent.

  1197. Three or four times

  1198. they went through things

1199. and I got to go through things

  1200. and the answers

  1201. were always Christ,

  1202. His righteousness,

  1203. what He's done,

  1204. not me.

1205. We were able to be,

1206. we were able to live out

  1207. that calling.

1208. But here's the real thing.

1209. This is where we're going

  1210. to kind of land

  1211. our big,

  1212. big point this morning

1213. is we have this mission,

  1214. this daunting task

  1215. to be disciple makers,

1216. to be obedient to Christ,

1217. to follow and to be,

  1218. to not be hypocrites

  1219. before the world.

  1220. But how?

  1221. But how?

1222. When do we do that?

1223. We have to prepare ourselves

1224. before we go to battle.

  1225. Always.

  1226. I never realized

  1227. how much

  1228. the Christian life

  1229. is a battle

  1230. until I got into

  1231. full-time ministry.

  1232. And I say that

  1233. because I have seen

  1234. so many ways

  1235. in which

1236. this pulls you this way

1237. and this pulls you that way

  1238. and this issue

  1239. comes down this way

  1240. and you got this

  1241. and then,

  1242. you know,

  1243. the whole kind of

  1244. cliche that,

  1245. you know,

  1246. when you're working hard,

  1247. the devil's working harder

  1248. to pull you away.

1249. There's just so many things

  1250. trying to work

  1251. on someone's life

1252. when they want to really

  1253. be pursuing Christ

  1254. to pull them away.

  1255. And so,

  1256. I never realized

  1257. how important it is

  1258. to prepare

  1259. for battle,

  1260. spiritual battle.

  1261. and I learned that

  1262. and this weekend

  1263. helped me to really

  1264. put things more

  1265. into perspective.

  1266. We have marching orders

1267. but how do we prepare

  1268. for that battle?

1269. Do we just charge in

  1270. with nothing but gusto?

  1271. Okay,

  1272. so whoever,

  1273. who's ever just like

  1274. said,

  1275. you know what,

  1276. I don't know how it's

  1277. going to work out

1278. but I'm going to go do it.

1279. I'm just going to go

  1280. head first,

  1281. right into it.

1282. How'd that go for you?

  1283. Apparently pretty bad

  1284. because no one wanted

1285. to say anything about it

1286. but I've tried just saying

  1287. like,

  1288. you know what,

1289. just give it a shot.

1290. I'm going to go in.

  1291. Head first,

  1292. no planning,

  1293. just went straight in.

  1294. Doesn't work out.

  1295. It never works out

  1296. because you don't think

1297. about all the other parts

  1298. of the issue.

  1299. Instead of just charging

  1300. with all this gusto

  1301. to go in,

  1302. we need to plan

  1303. and prepare

  1304. plan and prepare

  1305. to take on

  1306. the spiritual battle

  1307. we have.

  1308. One of the ways

1309. I like to look at this

  1310. as a military kid

1311. I grew up in a military house

1312. and ranks are really important.

  1313. You can't just go

  1314. do things

  1315. with your soldiers

  1316. and say,

  1317. just go,

  1318. let's go do this,

  1319. we're going to go

  1320. take care of this.

  1321. No,

1322. you go to the general

  1323. for the plan

1324. and you execute the plan.

1325. You go to the general,

  1326. the commander in chief,

  1327. get the plan,

  1328. execute the plan.

1329. And so that's how that,

1330. that's how that works there

  1331. in the believer's life

1332. is that we go to God

  1333. in prayer

  1334. and in the word

  1335. seeking his guidance,

  1336. seeking his wisdom,

  1337. seeking to know,

  1338. Lord,

1339. how do I do this?

  1340. Whatever X, Y, Z may be.

1341. How do I make disciples?

  1342. How do,

1343. how do disciples make disciples?

1344. You go to the word

1345. and you go into prayer

  1346. and ask God,

  1347. send me the one.

1348. And this kind of draws back

  1349. into what Pastor Sam

1350. has kind of pushed on us.

  1351. Who's your one?

1352. I just want to take a little time

  1353. to harp on that.

1354. We did this one time

  1355. at another church

  1356. I was a part of.

  1357. Who's your one?

1358. And we saw the church grow

  1359. massively.

1360. This is not a church grow

  1361. technique necessarily,

1362. but this is one where

1363. as the body of Christ

  1364. here in Henrietta,

1365. this particular body of Christ,

1366. we are to be ones

1367. who are seeking to grow

  1368. the community in faith,

  1369. lead people to Christ.

1370. But if you don't pray

  1371. for that person

1372. and you just start going,

  1373. knocking on the door,

  1374. at some point,

1375. it might shut you out

  1376. because you're trying

  1377. physical,

  1378. man-made tactics.

  1379. You need supernatural power

  1380. to move in.

  1381. Supernatural power

1382. that is from the Lord.

  1383. So I urge you,

1384. if you don't have your one,

  1385. choose your one.

  1386. Pray for them diligently.

  1387. Work on them.

  1388. Students,

1389. if you don't have your one,

1390. maybe your one's next to you.

1391. Maybe your one's behind you.

1392. Maybe your one's in front of you.

1393. Really consider who's your one

1394. as you take time to pause

  1395. and consider

1396. how to battle for the Lord

  1397. for that person's soul.

  1398. Because remember,

  1399. we're not in a battle

  1400. against flesh and blood.

  1401. We're in a battle

  1402. against the powers

  1403. that be around us,

  1404. our evil adversary.

  1405. An intimate relationship

  1406. with God,

1407. His word and His ways

  1408. are the groundwork

  1409. for living our lives

  1410. on God's mission.

  1411. And as believers,

1412. we are always on mission.

  1413. How you speak,

  1414. how you think,

  1415. how you act,

  1416. that will determine

1417. what people think about Christ.

  1418. Oftentimes it does.

1419. If you come in guns blazing

  1420. saying,

1421. I'm going to show you

1422. how your religion is wrong,

1423. they oftentimes will be like,

  1424. wow,

  1425. you're hateful.

1426. Why would I want to know

1427. this God that you know?

1428. But if you come in

  1429. with kindness

  1430. and the gospel,

  1431. if you come in

  1432. not a hypocrite

  1433. leading a double life,

  1434. saying,

  1435. I trust in Christ,

1436. but I live my life

  1437. a completely opposite way

  1438. in the darkness.

  1439. Scripture actually has something

  1440. to say about that,

  1441. being a double-minded man.

  1442. He is unstable

1443. in all of his ways.

  1444. A double-minded man

  1445. is unstable

1446. in all of his ways.

  1447. Don't be the double-minded man,

  1448. or you will see

1449. all of your ways crumble.

  1450. Things will break

  1451. in your life.

  1452. Because I've seen it

1453. in many of my friends' lives

  1454. I have known.

  1455. I've known many people

  1456. who have fallen

  1457. to the double-mindedness.

1458. I want to look back

  1459. at Matthew 28 again.

  1460. This is

  1461. verses 19 through 20.

  1462. And it says this.

  1463. It says,

  1464. Go therefore,

  1465. make disciples

  1466. of all the nations,

  1467. baptizing them

1468. in the name of the Father

  1469. and of the Son

  1470. and the Holy Spirit,

  1471. teaching them to deserve

1472. all that I have commanded you.

1473. How can we teach someone

  1474. something we don't know?

1475. How can you teach someone

  1476. the Scriptures

1477. if you don't know them?

1478. How can we lead someone

  1479. to obey the things

  1480. that we don't even

  1481. obey ourselves?

1482. How effective will we be

1483. at drawing others to Christ

  1484. when we ourselves

  1485. are distant from Him?

  1486. I've told our students

  1487. this before.

  1488. I'm not scared

  1489. to say this thing.

1490. This is what happened to me.

  1491. I was,

1492. before I came to Christ,

  1493. I was in a relationship

  1494. with a young lady

  1495. that was very impure

1496. and it was not a good

1497. relationship to be a part of.

1498. And I did the thing,

  1499. I call it,

  1500. that's a really funny phrase,

1501. I was trying to flirt

  1502. to convert.

1503. You ever heard of this?

  1504. Flirt to convert?

1505. You ever heard of this?

  1506. It's when you are a believer

  1507. and you say,

  1508. you know what?

  1509. That person's not a Christian.

  1510. I can make him a Christian.

  1511. Watch this.

  1512. You get in there

  1513. and then you start

  1514. just totally like

  1515. leaving all things

  1516. of Christendom.

  1517. You start walking away

  1518. from that.

  1519. Well,

  1520. I was not a believer already.

1521. I was not even a Christian yet.

  1522. And I was trying

1523. to get her to believe

  1524. the gospel

  1525. that I didn't even

  1526. fully believe.

1527. How can we teach people

1528. something we don't even know?

1529. How can we teach them

  1530. to obey something

  1531. we don't obey ourselves?

1532. How effective am I going to be

1533. at drawing that young lady

  1534. to Christ

  1535. when I myself

1536. am very distant from Him

  1537. and not leading her

  1538. anywhere near Christ?

1539. So I want to go ahead

  1540. and go to,

1541. I'm trying to land this soon.

1542. I've got like six minutes.

1543. Man, I see what your problem is.

1544. Same with the timing, man.

  1545. Goodness gracious.

1546. That just flies on by,

  1547. doesn't it?

  1548. Goodness.

  1549. So in Timothy 3, 16-17,

  1550. it says this,

1551. All scripture is breathed out

  1552. by God and profitable

  1553. for teaching,

  1554. for reproof,

  1555. for correction,

  1556. for training in righteousness,

1557. that the man of God,

1558. I'll also say the woman of God,

  1559. may be complete,

1560. equipped for every good work.

1561. The words that were really important

1562. that stood out for me

1563. when I read that text

  1564. was teaching,

  1565. rebuking,

  1566. training,

  1567. reproof,

  1568. some say correcting.

1569. The only way we can do any of that

1570. is if we have a knowledge

  1571. of God's word.

  1572. See,

  1573. we have this issue

1574. where we think we are called

1575. to just be good people sometimes.

  1576. Oh, a Christian's just a good person.

  1577. A Christian's just a good person.

  1578. He follows like Jesus.

1579. But we're more than that.

  1580. We're more than people

1581. who follow a bunch of religious rules too.

1582. So if you're in here today

1583. and you think that Christianity

1584. is just a bunch of do's and do nots,

  1585. shalls and shall nots,

  1586. it's not what it's about.

1587. It's not about me following the rules

  1588. to get God's favor.

  1589. I can't earn God's favor.

  1590. Remember,

  1591. Jesus initiates the relationship.

1592. But God calls all of us in here

1593. who are believers this day

1594. to be messengers of his story,

1595. to teach people about Christ.

1596. He calls us to use our knowledge of his word,

1597. which I hope is growing now for you,

  1598. to shape other people.

1599. And that's kind of hard for you

1600. to grasp and be like,

  1601. oh, that's a big ask.

  1602. It should be intimidating.

1603. It should be crushing for you, actually.

1604. It should be something that you're like,

  1605. I can't do this.

1606. Do you want to know why?

1607. Because you should be relying

1608. on the Spirit for that.

1609. When we try to make disciples

1610. and do things in our own power,

1611. it always fumbles and crushes and crumbles.

1612. We ought to be relying on the Spirit,

  1613. the Holy Spirit,

1614. at all times for all things.

1615. The way to be effective in these things

1616. is very, very clear then.

1617. We have to know God

1618. before we can lead others to him.

1619. And this happens by pressing pause

  1620. on our lives

1621. to consider who Christ is.

  1622. You know,

  1623. all of you students,

  1624. I'm quite certain,

1625. were not born before 9-11.

1626. And all of us who know what happened on 9-11

  1627. know the tragedy.

  1628. But you also remember

1629. that there was this big call,

  1630. rebuild those towers.

  1631. Rebuild them.

1632. And it wasn't just like saying

1633. that we got to get the commerce back going.

1634. It was that we want to show

1635. that we are strong people.

  1636. We will rebuild.

1637. We will stand up against the tyranny.

  1638. That's a symbol of hope

1639. is what we were doing.

  1640. We wanted to rebuild

  1641. a symbol of hope.

1642. But to do such a thing

1643. took a lot of deliberation.

1644. It took a long time.

  1645. And I believe,

  1646. if I'm correct,

1647. it was not until November 3, 2014,

1648. when the One World Trade Center was opened.

1649. It took a very long time

  1650. to get that built.

  1651. A lot of planning,

  1652. a lot of preparation.

1653. There was a lot to do in that.

1654. The rubble had to be cleaned up,

  1655. checked out,

1656. make sure things are good.

1657. They reused some of the material

  1658. from the Twin Towers,

  1659. the statement of hope.

  1660. Anything that important

1661. has to be prepared for

1662. in a very major way.

1663. And we can say the same thing

  1664. as our lives

  1665. as Christ followers.

  1666. Our lives

  1667. are ours

  1668. to be stewards of.

  1669. It's a huge responsibility

  1670. to be a believer.

  1671. And the preparation

  1672. is as big,

  1673. if not bigger,

  1674. than the actual execution

  1675. of the thing.

  1676. Because yeah,

  1677. you might fumble

  1678. with your words,

  1679. but your diligence

  1680. to the Lord

  1681. is more important

1682. than how well you did.

  1683. Your diligence

  1684. to the Lord

  1685. is more important

1686. than how well you did.

1687. So I want to go ahead

  1688. and kind of land

  1689. the plane for us

  1690. this morning.

  1691. Jesus tells us

1692. in the very last half

  1693. of verse 20

  1694. in Matthew 28,

  1695. He says,

1696. I am with you always

1697. to the end of the age.

  1698. And that is

  1699. the hope

1700. that we get to cling to

  1701. as believers.

  1702. We have daunting tasks

  1703. before us.

1704. We have our own sin

  1705. to overcome,

  1706. our own hypocrisy,

  1707. our own hardships

  1708. in our lives

  1709. to deal with.

  1710. But Jesus tells us

  1711. that

  1712. as you go through

  1713. all this stuff,

  1714. as you seek

  1715. to make disciples,

  1716. as you succeed

  1717. and fail in it,

  1718. behold,

1719. I am with you always

1720. to the end of the age.

1721. I'm going to be with you.

  1722. as believers,

1723. we have the Holy Spirit

  1724. dwelling with us

  1725. permanently.

  1726. God's Holy Spirit

  1727. dwells in us.

1728. Like we get to walk around

  1729. with Jesus

  1730. in our hearts

  1731. at all times.

1732. Whereas there was a moment

  1733. when the disciples

  1734. walked with Jesus

  1735. and then didn't

  1736. and feared.

  1737. What's happening next?

  1738. Well, you know,

  1739. I know what's happening

  1740. next for us.

  1741. Because we're fighting

  1742. a battle he's already won

  1743. to draw it back

  1744. to the song.

  1745. No matter what comes

  1746. my way,

  1747. I will overcome.

  1748. I may not know

  1749. what he's doing

  1750. in my life,

  1751. but I know

  1752. what he has done.

  1753. I'm fighting this battle

1754. not my own power though.

1755. The power of the spear

1756. is how I fight this battle.

  1757. And what battle

  1758. am I fighting?

  1759. The battle against

  1760. evil,

  1761. sin.

  1762. And so,

1763. I want to leave this

  1764. with you guys here.

1765. The call to be a disciple

1766. is not an easy one.

  1767. And it should not

  1768. be made lightly.

1769. It shouldn't be made lightly

1770. to be a believer in Jesus.

1771. It's not just a good thing we do.

1772. It is a full commitment

  1773. of the life.

  1774. Giving over of ourselves

  1775. to Christ.

1776. It's as if you were

  1777. a king of a kingdom

  1778. and you said,

  1779. I can't take care

  1780. of this kingdom anymore.

  1781. I can't do it.

1782. I need to give the keys away

  1783. to someone who can

1784. take care of this kingdom.

1785. And you give your keys

  1786. to your kingdom

1787. that you have inside of you

  1788. to Christ

  1789. and he comes in

  1790. and he just

  1791. demolishes the place

  1792. but rebuilds it back

  1793. so much better.

  1794. He's building in you

  1795. a kingdom.

  1796. He's building this kingdom

  1797. here right now.

  1798. And so,

  1799. know that Christ

  1800. is in you

  1801. building a kingdom.

  1802. A priest of believers

  1803. here

1804. to go preach the gospel.

  1805. And so,

1806. as we come to the end

  1807. of our service,

  1808. I'm going to ask

  1809. Miss June to come

  1810. play for us.

  1811. And I want to

  1812. invite you guys

  1813. into a time of

  1814. either invitation

1815. or a time of prayer

  1816. and consideration.

1817. I'm going to pray over us.

  1818. And if you'd like

1819. to come to the altar

  1820. to pray,

  1821. take time to pause

  1822. this morning

  1823. from your busy Sunday,

  1824. from your busy life.

  1825. I'm not naive.

  1826. Eve,

  1827. I understand

  1828. that we all

  1829. have very heavy

  1830. responsibilities.

  1831. A lot that we're doing.

  1832. But consider

  1833. in light of eternity

  1834. your responsibilities.

  1835. Did you buy

  1836. that tool today?

  1837. Is it going to

  1838. affect you tomorrow?

  1839. Maybe.

  1840. But,

  1841. does that tool

  1842. lead somebody

  1843. to salvation?

  1844. Probably not.

  1845. Are you actively

  1846. pressing pause

  1847. in your life

  1848. to slow down

  1849. and prioritize

  1850. being in prayer

  1851. with the Lord?

  1852. Going to Him

  1853. in this secret place

  1854. by yourself?

  1855. Getting into the Word?

  1856. There's a man,

  1857. his name is

  1858. Leonard Ravenhill.

  1859. He's a pastor

  1860. of the old days.

  1861. I'm reading his book

1862. and one thing he says

  1863. in the book

  1864. was that

  1865. a sermon

  1866. concocted in the mind

1867. is only for the mind.

  1868. But a sermon

  1869. concocted

  1870. and written

  1871. with this power

  1872. of the Spirit

  1873. is for the Spirit

  1874. of the man.

  1875. And so my question

  1876. this morning is

1877. in your life right now

  1878. are you

  1879. filling your mind

  1880. with the Bible

  1881. and doing your

  1882. five minute

  1883. real quick studies

  1884. just because

1885. it's what you should do

  1886. to make sure

  1887. you feel right

  1888. as a man

  1889. or a woman?

  1890. Or are you

  1891. spending time

  1892. in diligent prayer

  1893. and diligent reading

  1894. of the Word

  1895. to really come

  1896. and know

  1897. who Christ is?

  1898. That's all I have

1899. to say there I think.

  1900. Consider in your hearts

1901. where are you right now?

1902. Let me pray for us.

  1903. Father I thank you

1904. so much for this morning.

  1905. Thank you for

  1906. all the people

  1907. who have

  1908. sat through

  1909. a message

  1910. over many different

  1911. parts

  1912. of the Christian life.

  1913. But

1914. Lord thank you so much

  1915. for all you've done

  1916. this weekend.

  1917. Even just that

  1918. one came

  1919. to Christ.

  1920. God hearing the praises

  1921. of your people

  1922. singing praises

  1923. to you.

  1924. A humbling feeling.

  1925. Can't even imagine

  1926. what heaven's

  1927. going to be like.

  1928. All of us

  1929. singing praises

  1930. and hearing the angels

  1931. sing holy, holy,

  1932. holy is the Lord

  1933. God Almighty.

  1934. Lord I thank you

  1935. for all you've done.

  1936. Lord as we

  1937. come to a close

  1938. I pray that you

  1939. would impress upon

  1940. the hearts of those

  1941. who need to be

  1942. impressed upon

  1943. to come to Christ.

  1944. Lord those who are

  1945. who are dealing

  1946. with sin issues

  1947. in their life.

  1948. They would

  1949. seek to confess it

  1950. and kill it

  1951. just take it

  1952. out of their lives.

  1953. Lord you've been

  1954. so good to us.

  1955. Lord thank you

  1956. for even when

  1957. we think you're

  1958. slow to answer prayer

  1959. you're still slow

  1960. to handle us

  1961. and our sin

  1962. how we deserve

  1963. to be.

  1964. Lord thank you

  1965. for all you've done

  1966. in Christ.

  1967. In my prayer.
