Wow. Wow, Wow, what a privilege to be here this weekend.
-
We've had an amazing time. Friday nights, we we saw all kinds of
-
healings and prophetic words, and people's legs were growing out and activating the kids
-
praying. It was awesome. And then Saturday we got to go into the
-
city, the Tacoma Mall and uh and the casino and we did prayer and
-
communion on top of the parking structure overlooking the whole city and it was just
-
a beautiful time. And and uh and this morning was already very very precious
-
and uh, you know, you guys have an amazing leadership team. You
-
guys have an amazing staff And uh yeah, go ahead, like that's that's
-
that's worthy of honor because I see your leaders where they're just like constantly serving,
-
they're constantly loving people. And it's it's so beautiful, and it's so
-
beautiful to be a part of a community that's going after prayer, put a
-
stake in the prayer, having you know, so many different dimensions of prayer,
-
and and it really is refreshing to come into a community that that has
-
that heartbeat to go after prayer and to really take ownership to to break off
-
that escapism that really kind of came into the church with with you know,
-
really Catholicism, and and you know what he was hitting on this morning of
-
the you know, rescue me out of here, Get me out of here
-
where the Lord is anointing us to to be his light, to be salt
-
to you know, Christ in you, the hope of glory. And so
-
it's so good to pour into you guys. And yeah, I've been a
-
part of Bethel Church since two thousand and two. I've been running with low
-
Ingle and Cheon since you know, two thousand. I used to go to
-
Monauditorium and get blasted by God. I know all the different sections of Modernatorium
-
where I've had crazy encounters and you know, so I just love that you
-
guys are you know a house that's that's running with Bethel and him and my
-
parents are actually living down in southern California and working with Jay On and working
-
with Jay Coopman who is planted a harvest rock in Orange County where my parents
-
live. And you guys are getting ready to have Tony Kim, who I've
-
known for fifteen years and that guy is a reformer and so it's so cool
-
that you're having you know, Tony come in and then Steve, I remember
-
when he was pastoring in Weaverville. I'd go visit him in two thousand and
-
two and two thousand and three, and man, that guy is just like
-
one of the greatest revelations of joy. That that is not just a message,
-
it's his lifestyle, it's what he lives out. He is one of
-
the ultimate encouragers and bringer bringers of joy and changing your mindset. So what
-
a rich time. And then I've known Brian since two thousand and four when
-
he was pastoring in Connecticut, and so it's so cool that you're having the
-
crew come in and man, what a what an amazing time, And you
-
know, it's just so good to be here. Like Dwayne was saying,
-
we're going to different nations, we're pouring into different places. We leave for
-
Ecuador and uh just a couple of weeks and uh like a week and a
-
half, and they're pray for us because they're in a pretty crazy time,
-
which I love that I get to go in too. You know, the
-
battlefields, the war zones like and you know they're in military lockdown right now.
-
They're curfew. They're in a mandatory curfew, and so what a privilege.
-
I talked to the pastor and it's like, should we cancel them.
-
I'm like, no, this is the perfect time for me to come in.
-
If they will let me come in, I am coming in. Yeah,
-
And then yes, we're going to We've we've been going into Hawaii really
-
my for the last twenty years, but there's been an uptick since really twenty
-
nineteen. And then you know, to see how you know, they responded
-
with COVID and just seeing the mental health that's that's that's gone on, this
-
amount of suicide that's happening there and drug addiction. And then we had the
-
fires and I came. I was working with Afghan refugees August with Franz.
-
Franz was with me and and then the fires broke out in Maui and my
-
heart broke and the Lord said, you need to go to Mali, and
-
you need to go now, because if you're going to have if you're going
-
to have any authority to transition them from grieving to joy, you need to
-
be with them in the grieving. And so I went there eleven days after
-
the fire. And we've gone now five times and we're we We've done different
-
projects of building four hundred bikes for kids. We've we've given out over like
-
three thousand meals. We're known as the Pancake Pastors in a number of parks
-
and beaches. We've done all kinds of different outreaches and worship and you know,
-
bringing people, being able to be there when people come in and go
-
to their house for the first time and sift through the ashes. We've been
-
able to sift to the ashes with people. We were with this one family
-
where she was asking God, I want my jewelry back, I want my
-
jewelry back, and we went and took communion and we worshiped on their property
-
and we're sifting through the ashes and one of our team members finds a necklace
-
that says her name, Jesus, sign me up for more of that.
-
So we go Ecuador to Malli, which is going to be fun and yeah,
-
I'm excited. And so we have if you want to just stay connected
-
to us, and we love it having prayer support where you know some of
-
us. You can't go to Ecuador with us or Maui, but you can
-
know when we're going there and you could be covering us in prayer. You
-
could follow us online or you know, there's a here's a connection piece right
-
here. You can just take your phones out and the amazing QR codes and
-
and uh oh yeah, so it says catch the wave, uh dot org,
-
catch the wave global dot org and that's our website and uh and then
-
also we're putting on I love that you guys are going after prayer and and
-
I love intercession. You know that that's one of the things that God has
-
called us to is to intercede for you know, our land and for you
-
know, going into different places. We've done per paddles and seven different countries
-
and and uh and and all over on the East Coast and the Atlantic and
-
I cannot wait. I've done the border of Mexico and California, and I
-
got to do the border one of these days of Washington into Canada. And
-
uh but that will happen soon, hopefully. And but but we are doing
-
a school of intercession online that is like go at your own pace. You
-
get videos, they'll be lives. We have Heidie Baker, Michael Miller,
-
my mom, my beautiful wife, Julia justin Stunball and and we just begin
-
to just equip on intercession, how to be an intercessor, how to stand
-
in the gap, how to be someone who's connected to the Father, connected
-
to Heaven, and also connected to your city, connected to your land.
-
And it's very much a joshua One model of intercession. Wherever your feet tread,
-
I give you that land is your inheritance. And it's so important that
-
we have that in the go of the Gospel and in how prayer and evangelism
-
work together. And I love, you know, talking with Dwayne about all
-
the different prayer assignments that you guys have been stewarting and going after and and
-
you know, I love just taking communion every prayer assignment. Communion is one
-
of the best places of intercession because the blood of Jesus. We always take
-
a little bit of the blood. When we poured into the water, we
-
poured into the land, and we asked the Lord to heal the land.
-
And it's been so amazing to see scalable prayer that you know, we I
-
shared this in our evangelist some prayer activation. But I'll sometimes get before per
-
assignment. The Lord will wake me up mid night and say, hey,
-
this is Ezekiel training, or this is Isaiah training. And we were going
-
to go prayer paddle the Golden Gate Bridge. And so the Lord said,
-
hey, this is Ezekiel training. And I read the Book of Ezekiel and
-
the valley of dry bones really stood out to me, and and and I
-
went. It was the Wednesday before the prayer paddle, and this pastor in
-
San Francisco caused me and says, one of our youth just committed suicide off
-
the Golden gate Bridge. And so I'm like, all right, there's a
-
territorial spirit there that is wooing people. This is where you come geographically in
-
this location. If you're dealing with suicide, you know, suicidal thoughts,
-
dealing with depression, this is where you come to end your life. And
-
I said, okay, this is where we're going to take the blood of
-
Jesus and we're going to pray in the opposite spirit the way that Ezekiel did
-
that the circumstances, there's a valley of dry bones. But what does God
-
see and how to co labor with him, how to move in that opposite
-
spirit, and how to begin to prophisy over the land that I see an
-
army that I am seeing what the Father is seeing and releasing the four winds
-
of heaven. And so the day before the pur paddle, I went surfing
-
in Santa Cruz and the Lord says, hey, like Ezekiel, moving in
-
the opposite spirit. I want you to go out there with just swim trunks,
-
which it's freezing. Everyone's got wet suits and booties and hoods and gloves.
-
And the Lord's like, I want you to go out there in the
-
opposite spirit, like Ezekiel, and paddle out with just your swim trunks and
-
and only catch party waves, which us surfers were sometimes a little selfish.
-
You usually only see one surfer per one wave, and if someone tries to
-
hop on your wave, we're usually screaming at them and hooting and hollering at
-
them to get off the wave. And the Lord's like, no, I
-
want you to catch waves and invite people to jump on the wave with you.
-
And so, you know, the Lord sends people out in two.
-
So I looked at my buddy and I said, hey, I feel like
-
this is Ezekiel training. That's all good. That's good to both go in
-
swim trunks. And he's like, all right, this is crazy and we
-
ended up. You know, we're calling people into our waves. And this
-
guy goes, wow, thanks for bringing the party vibes out here. Before
-
you paddled out, there was these two guys yelling. They started, you
-
know, they were they almost started fighting. And you have all these teenagers.
-
They were cussing, you know, like all his bad language, all
-
his anger. Thanks for bringing the party vibes here. What is he saying?
-
He says, you're changing the atmosphere. And my buddy goes, all
-
party vibes. Jesus is like the king of party vibes. He had more
-
joy than any of his companions, you know. And the guy goes,
-
hey, man, I'll go to that church. And I look at him
-
like, well, we're at church, and I laid hands on it,
-
and I'm like, let him experience the party vibe gee, you know,
-
the Jesus party. And then this wave comes like this is our wave,
-
and we all catch the wave. And then the next day we do the
-
we do the prayer paddle and we have winded our face like like you know,
-
and it's called stand up paddleboarding, so we call this the paddle of
-
humility. When there's a lot of wind, and we got to get on
-
our knees, and I say, this is perfect. We're in a prayer
-
service on our knees. This is how intercessors fought battles way before us.
-
And you know it's it's supposed to be a stand up paddleboard, but here
-
we are on our knees fighting the wind. And then we get under the
-
Golden Gate Bridge and there's all these currents and we have video footage of these
-
elephant seals that are like eight feet ten feet, which you've got even bigger
-
animals that are hunting those guys. But anyways, we were in there and
-
the wind was at our face, and then we just started prophisying with this
-
open vision where I saw people that were struggling with suicide, struggling with depression,
-
that the Lord was going to anoint them, deliver them, and that
-
they would be the next Lonnie Frisbees, the faces of the Jesus People movement,
-
because you could only give away what you have. And we're seeing in
-
our country an epidemic of anxiety and mental health issues and suicide. So the
-
Lord will always bring an annoying that breaks the yoke of the enemy that we
-
actually have land. You know, it talks about injustice and the blood,
-
and the land cries out that's where we come in as intercessors Jesus. So
-
so we started promising. I I just started declaring that UD be the John
-
ten ten Bridge, that people would come here to end their life, but
-
then they would find it that John, you know, Jesus said, hey,
-
I gave my life so that you could find it and have life more
-
abundantly. And so we're promising, and then suddenly the winds shift where they're
-
still at our face, but now it's in our back. Now it's at
-
our sides. And I look at my team and like we are in an
-
Ezekiel moment. The four winds of Heaven are here. And what was kind
-
of a bummer is we had a drone, the Mavig two many that can
-
withstand thirty five an hour winds, and we have the footage that's connected to
-
our phone where you see the winds shift and it takes our drone and hits
-
it against the Golden Gate bridge and ping pongs around and drops in the water.
-
And I'm like, wow, that was a worthy sacrifice for the resurrection
-
power of God to come manifest. But The next morning, I'm preaching at
-
this church in San Francisco, and I minister and I see, you know,
-
during ministry time, and I see this teenager and I start praying for
-
him, and I, you know, I can I know that he's at
-
least thirteen fourteen years old, And I said, I see you as a
-
nine year old boy, and you're climbing up on your heavenly father's lap and
-
he's holding you, and he's breaking off abandonment and like rejection, this whole
-
abandonment that he starts wailing, starts crying. He begins to tell us that
-
his father was deported by ice, so he's not like his father left him
-
willingly, abandoned him willingly. He was separated from his dad. And the
-
father is healing and it is setting him free of this abandonment issue, in
-
this identity of being abandoned and wiping it away, saying I'm your heavenly father.
-
And I could tell, like, you know, he like there's something
-
missing, And I realized, oh man, I should ask him, do
-
you have do you know Jesus, do you have you asked you to live
-
in your heart? And he goes, no, I've never done that I'm
-
going, well, hey, what's your name? Ezekiel. So it's really
-
good when you're in Ezekiel training. When Ezekiel gets saved and set free.
-
He later got healed of a back injury. But this is twenty twenty one.
-
He's like still in this church. He's brought his family in there.
-
He went and led a mission trip to Dominican Republic this last year. You
-
know, the pastor's sending me videos of him being baptized, and I'm like,
-
wow, that is amazing fruit and you know, and it continues to
-
go where you have to understand, prayer is scalable. So I went on
-
had this whole bike like assignment and I biked the Golden Gate Bridge and I'm
-
and this is in you know that the prayer paddle was September twenty twenty one.
-
And then in February twenty two, I'm biking over the Golden Gate Bridge
-
and I noticed these beams shooting now and I see this cop walking by and
-
I'm like, hey, officer, I see these beams. I was here
-
like a few months ago and I didn't see these beams. What are these
-
beams? Go? Oh? We In October, we voted as a city
-
to come up with prevention solutions for the suicides. Golden Gate Bridge is the
-
number one suicide the number one bridge for suicide in our country, and they
-
came up with a solution to have censored nets so that when you jump,
-
you land in these nets and it alerts the authorities. They have a police
-
station on the end of the Golden Gate Bridge and it takes the average person
-
ten minutes to get out of these nets, so it gives enough time for
-
their first responders to intersect these ones that are committing, that are attempting suicide.
-
And I'm like, this is the answer to our prayers. I just
-
would encourage you, like you would not despise the day of small begins and
-
to not be discouraged. If you pray, you know, and then nothing
-
you feel like is happening, that is a lie that there are things happening
-
and changing in the spirit realm, and the spirit realm will will begin to
-
dictate and begin to influence the natural realm. Before the natural realm influences the
-
spiritual realm, the prayer is scalable. Jesus, Okay, that's not what
-
I'm preaching on. Wow, Okay, good, It's not that late.
-
So I'm going I feel like, as you guys have been in this Daniel
-
Fast, I've been just interceding and praying for what the Lord has really giving
-
you guys as a community. And the Lord really quickened me that there is
-
in this you know, region of the Northwest, that the God of Hope
-
is getting ready to crash in, and that there is a mental health healing
-
wave that is in the beginning form over this land, and that the God
-
of Hope is encountering those that are dealing with anxiety, depression, suicidal thought
-
PTSD. And this just jump into Romans fifteen thirteen, which is one of
-
the lifeline scriptures for me as I was building a well of hope and building
-
a well of peace. May the God who gives you hope fill you with
-
great joy. May you have perfect peace as you trust in him. May
-
the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope that is very good.
-
Yes, and amen. You know that He gives you all joy, all
-
peace, And those that trust in Him, that you have to understand one
-
of the greatest worship services is trust. That it's almost like you got to
-
go through the doorway of trust to encounter the God of Hope, the room
-
where the God of Hope lives, so that you can partake that not in
-
just some joy, not in most of the joy, but all joy and
-
all peace are given to you. You know, I was very fortunate to
-
be with Bill in two thousand and two, and in two thousand and three
-
his dad got pancreatic cancer, and for a year we contended for healing and
-
you know, as a community, we would see cancer abow to Jesus,
-
and Bill would make these decrees that we live in a cancer free zone,
-
that that those that walk through the Sanctuary of Bethel that are dealing with cancer,
-
that cancer would bow to Jesus. And then his dad gets picreatic cancer,
-
and you know, me and Chris Overstreet would hang out at Earl's house
-
and pray, you know, through late in the night. We took him
-
to Santa Maria healing rooms. Like we contended together as a community for Earl's
-
breakthrough. And then Earle graduated to be with the Lord about a year into
-
this battle, into this journey, and Bill began to go through this grieving
-
process where Bob Jones said, you need to cancel all your speaking engagements.
-
You should not speak at Bethel on Sunday mornings. You should, you know,
-
cancel all speaking engagements. So he canceled first year and he said,
-
you know what the second year students, those are our my family. Like
-
then there's only forty of us in the second year. This is two thousand
-
and three, which was so awesome that we, you know, we would
-
meet in a fifth grade classroom. We'd sit on a couch with Bill,
-
the forty of us, and he would just cry, he would just weep.
-
He would just you know, process with us his journey. And I'll
-
never get a couple of months into this, he said, I'm learning to
-
worship again. You know, I'm getting all these emails from you know,
-
spiritual leaders like you know, greater levels, greater devils, like if you
-
make decrees like cancer free zone, be prepared that you're going to take hits,
-
you know, if you want to grow in that kind of authority.
-
And he was processing, like you know theology and that in that place of
-
God. I know you're the healer, but my dad died of cancer,
-
especially when you see so many others healed of cancer, and that's always a
-
tricky one for us, that's going after healing and that healing annoying. Sometimes
-
you'll you know, you'll have two people and you'll be like, oh,
-
you know, like it might be someone that's you know, like maybe both
-
people are blind, and somebody's like in their eighties, and then there's like
-
a nine year old. And sometimes you're like, oh, man, that
-
nine year old. I want that nine year old to get healed. And
-
then the eighty year old gets healed. You're like, God, I want
-
that nine year old. And it's like you have to process and you take
-
that with you in your prayer. Clauset ammunition of like I need to grow
-
in this healing annoying. So Bill was going through that of like, God,
-
why did you not heal my dad? And he begins to tell us
-
in this fifth grade classroom, I'm learning to worship again that the Lord his
-
nature is the healer, and that when I'm in heaven I'll understand everything.
-
But I get an opportunity here on the planet that I get to use to
-
worship him, choose to trust him and releases a fragrance to the throne room
-
that will never have the opportunity to do when we're living in heaven. And
-
it's trust that opens the door for the God of Hope to encounter the God
-
of Hope. And it's it's you know, sometimes sad to see spiritual leaders
-
in this time where there's been a demand by a generation of I demand understanding.
-
You know, this whole deal of deconstruction and this whole deal of you
-
know, like they're just throwing out the mystery. Well, you know,
-
I don't understand, like how can someone really be swallowed up by a whale?
-
Which I don't know if you saw this, but just like a year
-
ago, there was a guy that was actually swallowed up by a whale.
-
It got spit out. I think he broke a rib or something like that.
-
But anyways, there's been this demand for understanding when we weren't as spiritual
-
leaders. We are not responsible for understanding. We were responsible for releasing peace
-
that surpasses understanding. Yeah, Jesus, I went through a pretty crazy time.
-
You know. My twenties were amazing. My wife and I we traveled
-
around the world. We were a part of the Vineyard, we were a
-
part of Bethel. We were running around with Heidi Baker, my wife and
-
I ordained through Bethel Church and Irish ministries in two thousand and eight, and
-
so it's been this wild adventure and then my thirties or thirty four, I
-
just hit this season where there was like all these pain points, and you
-
know, we lost We lost seven family members. I lost my grandparents.
-
My wife lost all of her grandparents. We had a miscarriage, I had
-
three surgeries. I had dislocated me. I had a shattered clavical I had
-
hernia surgery. You know, I went through all these This lady stole twenty
-
grand from us. Like there was a number of injustices or trauma points,
-
and I was just doing everything I knew to do to like fight the good
-
fight that you know, Hey, I'm tenacious, I'm going to keep going.
-
And then I had this severe car accident in twenty eighteen where I should
-
have died, and I discovered the prince of peace. I got the opportunity
-
to build a well of hope and peace. And I've always been a very
-
hopeful person, like optimism and positivity. But I lost hope and I realized
-
how valuable hope was once I lost it. So this is a video that
-
I did right after my car accident, and then I'll explain the accident,
-
but This is a little selfie video that I did. Hi, everybody,
-
this is Chad. It was my fore Runner gone. These guys are kind
-
enough to help me freaking crazy, so I'm very concussed in that video.
-
I had a pretty bad head injury. I flipped five times. What happened
-
was I was ministering on the Central Coast in Monterey and then I was in
-
a meeting the next day with Heidi Baker and Will Hart in reading at nine
-
am. So it's a five hour drive, but if you have traffic,
-
it could become a seven hour drive. So I woke up super early at
-
three am and drove through the Bay Area traffic, and then I had a
-
fore Runner, so I was like, all right, I could just sleep
-
in the back of my fore Runner. Once I get to Vacaville, which
-
from Vacaville to Ready and there's no traffic. So I was like, all
-
right, I just got to get through the Bay Area and I'll get some
-
sleep. I slept for forty five minutes. I'm driving another hour and I
-
start falling asleep and then I pull over wisely and I'm like, all right,
-
I've only got fifteen minutes window to you know, to kind of like
-
not fall asleep anymore while I'm driving, and I don't really fall asleep,
-
and the alarm goes and I'm kind of groggy, get into the car,
-
forget to put my seatbelt on, hit cruise controls seventy five miles an hour,
-
and I fall asleep at the wheel and I had my hands off the
-
wheel. I woke up, you know, doing this, and I'm going
-
right towards a concrete like bridge, you know, like footing, and so
-
I pulled the wheel onto the highway five and obviously you know what's going to
-
happen. As I pull on to the asphalt, the tires catch and I
-
start flipping, and I felt fingers go across my legs, my torso,
-
my chest, my head, and then the forming of a palm where there
-
was like a cocoon, like I was completely protected by God. And the
-
highway patrolman that you saw there, they were across the five fruit and they
-
said, we washed you roll five times and you be ejected from the sunroof.
-
You bounced off the five and then you got taken back into the car.
-
When the cops came. When the high patrolman came to me, I
-
went to go talk to him, and I couldn't talk. There were stuff
-
in my mouth. I thought it was my teeth and it was rocks,
-
meaning I was doing this. I had, you know, scratches, I
-
have scars on my back of going on to the five and they say,
-
the doctors told me that seventy percent of those that get ejected from the sunroof
-
and in a fatality, They're like, somebody up there must really really love
-
you. So I survived, Yeah, thank you Jesus. He's our strong
-
tower, he's our protector. And you know, I had a really bad
-
headed injury. I could. I had like a head migraine. I couldn't.
-
I could. I was sensitive to light. I was I would have
-
anxiety attacks that put on like the borne identity and be a car chase and
-
all this, like you know, panic attacks would be happening, and you
-
know, I would have night terrors. I'd be in the accident again.
-
And so I had severe PTSD. I begin to learn, I begin to
-
educate myself of like, oh, my corsoal levels are jacked. And it's
-
so strange too, because like I've been in twenty eleven, I was in
-
a plane with Roland Baker and we flipped upside down tailspin and we dropped two
-
thousand feet and we almost you know, we we we almost died. And
-
I was like, you know, it took me a day or two to
-
recover, but then I was fine. You know, I've had times where
-
I've almost died and several different things, and I didn't have like crazy PTSD.
-
But this time I couldn't recover. And it's always fun, like when
-
you're at the airport and you're stretching and you're doing all this stuff and people
-
are like, oh, what are you doing, you know, like you're
-
stretching on about gals in a severe car accident. You know, I was
-
objective for the center. Oh you didn't have your seatbelt. Huh. I'll
-
bet you never do that again. I love it when people like put the
-
shame on you, you know, like, but that's the great thing is
-
if you know, sometimes the hardest person to forgive is yourself. And I
-
made a poor decision that could have had consequences. I had a three year
-
old and a four month old, and I could have had the consequences of
-
my actions of pushing through, you know, where I should have listened more
-
to my body and all stuff, and I didn't have my seatbelt on that
-
that could have been a consequences that would have left my kids without their natural
-
dad. Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is yourself. But when you take
-
care of that, when you begin to do the work and begin to forgive
-
yourself, and you don't put your pain and you shove it down, that
-
you are present in your pain, you invite God to come where you have
-
pain and trauma. Then you begin to have authority and you begin to have
-
that place where shame cannot be put on you. Jesus, is it is
-
it quiet in here for a reason? Yeah? So important that we begin
-
to understand the power of forgiving yourself. And so I had this PTSD and
-
and uh, I was about a month in of just like the lords,
-
that I want you to meditate me as the God of Hope and as the
-
Prince of Peace for three hours in the morning. So I'd wake up at
-
six and I would just build this well of peace. And I've been I
-
was a month in. I was at the pra Chapel and reading a Bethel
-
and I and the Holy spirits. Is I want to take you on a
-
journey and I went to the valley floor of your and there was an art
-
easel. In the Holy Spirit, I want you, he says, I
-
want you to do art again. I had not done art since I was
-
like a little boy. And you understand my family history. My grandma,
-
my mom's mom, was a professional artist, and she used to teach me
-
how to do art when I was five and six, and she could sometimes
-
be a little critical. Then I had some art teachers that were even more
-
critical when I was like seven and eight, and so I began to sabotage,
-
have this self sabotage that I am not creative, that I'm not an
-
artist, to the point that I was in high school and I flunked ceramics
-
high school. You have to work hard at flunking high school ceramics. But
-
here I am at thirty seven, in the Holy Spirit says, I want
-
you to pick up art. And I enrolled myself in our local college and
-
art class, and I would have to fight these thoughts if I don't belong
-
like here, I am thirty seven ers through twenty year olds are way better
-
than me. That whole comparison thing just breaking off, breaking it off,
-
and then suddenly I would lose myself in the art and I would find wholeness.
-
I would find healing, I would find therapy as I began to do
-
art, and I didn't even realize they've done studies at Harvard that their actual
-
art therapy heals PTSD. But it was something that came down my family line.
-
It was something that God gave me as a kid, and I began
-
to sabotage that place that actually were keys to break through for my journey of
-
stepping into wholeness. This was my first art. I don't know if they
-
have that picture, but this was my first art piece and it was the
-
valley floor of Yosemite, And yeah, that was a fun one. There's
-
Julia and I. So the Lord has giving you, guys keys, and
-
he hasn't. Some of you are stuck in your trauma or stuck in PTSD.
-
And I'm telling you, I could say with confidence, God is giving
-
you keys. He's given you arrows, and some of them he gave you
-
to you as a kid or down your family line, and he's inviting you
-
to pick it back up that it's not too late. And it's intriguing to
-
me that we are dealing with anxiety and depression. And the number one trigger
-
for mental health issues is sleep deprivation, and they say that over sixty percent
-
of Americans are dealing with some form of sleep deprivation. You know that if
-
you don't sleep for twenty four hours, you have body chemistry that is equivocal
-
to you being intoxicated with alcohol. You know that, And it's it's really
-
intriguing with you're dealing with anxiety or PTSD or trauma, and then you're dealing
-
with your trauma, so you can't sleep, and then you you're you can't
-
sleep because you're dealing with trauma, and then you have more trauma because you
-
can't sleep. It's a very intriguing deal. But it's so interesting that God
-
said, I want you to build a well of peace and discover me as
-
the Prince of peace. And then you have Jesus in Mark four where he's
-
sleeping on the boat in the midst of a storm. Here we go,
-
a wild storm came up, waves crash over the boat. It was about
-
to sink. Jesus was in the back, sleeping on a cushion. The
-
disciples will come up, teacher, don't you care if we drown? What
-
a crazy accusation to the savior of the world. He got up in order
-
the wind to stop. He said to the waves, quiet, be stilled.
-
Then the wind died and it was completely calm. And he said to
-
his disciples, why are you so afraid? Don't you have any faith at
-
all? Yet they were terrified. They asked each other, who is this?
-
Even the wind and the waves obey him? And I've heard it preach
-
and it's a great principle, and it's totally you know, there is that
-
Jesus was maybe frustrated or disappointed or bombed that Peter, and that Peter didn't
-
realize or the disciples didn't realize that they had authority to calm the storm.
-
But Jesus always did what the Father was doing. And what was Jesus doing
-
He was asleep. See rest is a manifestation of uh. I mean,
-
sleep is a manifestation of rest, and rest is a manifestation of peace.
-
And and he I think he looked at the disciplines, goes, guys,
-
you didn't realize that you could sleep in the storm. See, some of
-
us will go through storms, and then we're like, you know what,
-
I'm going into intercession when an active intercession is actually sleeping. Oh Jesus,
-
you know, I love just you this whole like mental health awareness and you
-
know education. You know, it's so important that when you're dealing with pain
-
that you become curious, that you begin to understand that you might have physical
-
ailments that come up that are actually communicating you are dealing with stuff in the
-
soul. Maybe you get the shingles, maybe you break out in hives,
-
Like there's many different things you have, like a panic attack, it's your
-
soul saying hey, like, if you don't take care of this, you're
-
gonna have physical issues going on. So don't have condemnation when that's happening.
-
Don't have shame when that's happening. Become curious. And so I love the
-
Brene Brown and I love all of the stuff. Where the one thing that
-
I have seen though, is, you know, especially I'm a tweeter,
-
so I'm a gen xer and a millennial. So some of us millennials are
-
like in this place of gung ho of like it's all about wholeness and mental
-
health, and I gotta take care of me before I could take care of
-
others. And it's like no no, you don't understand one of the keys
-
to wholeness, one of the keys for getting breakthrough of your soul is by
-
helping others, serving others. Jesus, it's so important that we do not
-
get on an island where we become introspective and it's all I got to get
-
my breakthrough first. That it's sometimes your breakthrough won't come until you contend for
-
someone else's breakthrough. And I was going through this time of like PTSD killing
-
the giant PTSD. I loved it. I love that I have this education
-
to build that well. And it was about two months after my car accident,
-
this woman contacted my wife, who my wife's a real turn reading and
-
say, hey, I want to buy an investment home, but I want
-
to meet with you and your husband. I was in a meeting months earlier
-
where your husband spoke and I went into an open vision. We're going to
-
share the video in just one second, kid, so but you could you
-
could play in there. It was like so crazy because I got present,
-
kind of took a pause there you go. I know this will We're gonna
-
show this video in a second, but I just want to paint. I
-
just want to get the foundation, right is this woman said, I had
-
an open vision that you took my husband's surfing. You're gonna hear the story
-
of this crazy car accident, this uh or this guy was run over by
-
a drunk driver and he has a brain injury and he can't move, he
-
can't and his two youngest sons, he was a surfer. He never took
-
his two youngest kids surfing. And my heart broke that this guy should take
-
his kids. So I'm gonna help him take his kids out surfing. But
-
his wife says, I had an open vision that you took him surfing.
-
And I'm like, oh wow, I can't do that right now. Like
-
I look at her and say, when I am better, I'll take him
-
surfing. And it was months later building this of hope and peace that that,
-
you know, it was like nine months after my car accident. It
-
just worked out. It was just like this crazy intersection just easy. Grace
-
did not have to work for it at all. That it just like I
-
was already instid of the California and I'm like, and it worked out for
-
me to take him surfing. And I took him out, got him three
-
waves. We loaded him in the Van. I look at the ground while
-
he's pulling away, and I suddenly remember the conversation we had in December where
-
I said I will take him out surfing when I get better, and I
-
look down, I'm like, I guess I'm better. And so it's so
-
important that we serve others in our community, even when we have trauma that's
-
coming up, that we begin to take care of that trauma by helping other
-
people get breakthrough, to get you know, healing. And so this is
-
the story of us taking him surfing on Father's Day with his five sons.
-
We're taking a dad. I was his sons on Father's Day in that Yeah,
-
I mean he would be able to do it if we didn't show up.
-
And to be a part of that, it's pretty special and that's love.
-
I'm Laurie Shankeenberger and my husband Steve Schakeenberger, and we have five amazing
-
boys. Steve is addicted to surfing. Surfing is his passion. He wanted
-
to live in Nicaragua for surfing Indonesia. He would take these guys out surfing
-
when they were one years old. I was in the hospital having our second
-
kid, and he would take him out surfing with a pasifier in his mouth.
-
Steve's accident was four years ago on February fifth, twenty seventeen, and
-
he was mountain bike riding and he got hit by a drunk driver, which
-
was a hit and run. They ended up figuring out who hit him,
-
and there was a long journey of forgiveness and healing and friendship with the guy
-
who hit him and inviting him to go to church with us, and him
-
rededicating his life to the Lord. And I was just blown away by what
-
God was doing in this whole accident everything else surrounding it. Being out there
-
in the water with all his boys, that's what Steve would have wanted to
-
have done on Father's Day. We just got to ground zero to Dahety.
-
We're taking Steve out and Laurie and their sons and we're going to get some
-
party waves on Father's Day. You know, this is for all the fathers
-
that are out there that amy circumstances conditions where they can't take their kids out
-
on ride a passage journeys. As a father to a son or daughter,
-
that it's a privilege to be a part of the community to help those that
-
need assistance. To you know, you still breathe them. There's still a
-
dad, and we get to take them out surfing. And this is the
-
kind of stuff that I was alive for. Is to help your neighbor,
-
to help your community step into your fatherhood. That's just all gather together and
-
just but celebrate. Steve is a dad, That dad is. His greatest
-
identity is to being a son and a dad that he is not. His
-
identity is not handicapped. His identity is a dad. Yeah. And so
-
we bless you, Steve on Father's Day, and we bless you to catch
-
waves with your sons, to go and have fun with your sons on Father's
-
Day. And so Lord, we just pray for a hedge of protection.
-
We thank you for all the servers out here watching and making sure he's all
-
good. But Lord, we think of that there's angels here to protect him
-
as well. And Lord, we just pray Lord for just the heart of
-
a father to connect with his kids. Lord. Here we are together as
-
a community to rally around Steve and Laurie and Lord in their household. And
-
we just pray Lord that they would have epic times with you gone. You
-
would have epic times as it down. See if we just say that you
-
are an amazing down this is where you would be before this trauma happened.
-
Then this is where you would spend time with your sons. And so here
-
we are today June twenty, in twenty twenty one, to spend time to
-
be with you as you enjoyed catching waves with your kids. It's good you
-
learn than I had of. Sometimes you never call the horse. We always
-
kid every game saving Yeah, we ran him over. What a privilege.
-
Steve went to be home with his father in heaven in October twenty twenty one,
-
just four months after that. That's why we're not supposed to be stuck
-
on an island. Herope that if I would have said, oh no,
-
I need to do more counseling. Oh I need to do more stuff,
-
I need to work on myself. I'll take Steve out when I am.
-
You know, another time, I would have missed the opportunity for his two
-
youngest sons that never went surfing with their dad to now that narrative is completely
-
changed, that those two boys will forever have that moment on bother's day with
-
their dad. So I would just just put your hand on your heart.
-
Lord, we just pray for the God of Hope to be established in this
-
community. Lord, that these guys would be hope ambassadors. Lord, that
-
they are building a well of hope and a well of peace. So Lord
-
crash In has the Prince of peace. Lord, heal anyone in this room
-
that are feeling stuck paralyzed in their pain. Lord, that you'd give them
-
people to serve, to contend for, that you would give them steves in
-
their life. So Lord, right now, I just ask that you would
-
heal trauma, that you would begin to illuminate, and that there'd be a
-
spirit of revelation of what are the different arrows and the different keys that God
-
has given me to build a well of hope, to build a well of
-
peace. We just break off hopelessness, We break off depression, we break
-
off shame and condemnation. That you would know that you're a part of a
-
community that cares, a community that wants to fight for your breakthrough. That
-
you would break off loneliness and isolation. Lord, that you would give us
-
courage to be vulnerable. So Lord, we pray that you would just crash
-
in in this hour, that you would establish a well of hope, in
-
the Northwest. Lord, that you are evicting the enemy of suicide, anxiety
-
and depression. And Lord, I pray for anyone that struggles with sleep.
-
Lord, that you would begin to give us dreams about our destiny, dreams
-
about our heavenly father, dreams. That you would break off night terrors,
-
and that we would wake up jumping out of bed Betty to seize the day.
-
Lord, that you would begin to remove weariness. We'd break off the
-
lie that you're stuck. We break off the lie that this is your reality,
-
this is your crutch to bear, this is your identity. We break
-
that off. That you would feel connected to the God of Hope, that
-
your hope levels would begin to arise. So Lord, we just thank you
-
that you are the God of the breakthrough. There would be a breaker annoying
-
this morning, that hope is arising, that the Prince of Peace wants to
-
encounter you wreck us. God. Amen, all right, I went a
-
little long. Kids are probably waiting in the children's ministry. We'd love to
-
pray for you. I'll have a team here to pray if you just you
-
know, want another level of breakthrough of just the God of Hope crashing in
-
thank you guys again so much for having us. What a privilege, what
-
an honor. I love you guys. To say to Y
