  1. Hallelujah. How are we doing? How are we doing? Good?

  2. Good, good, good, Praise the Lord. I get to bring

  3. the sermon part of launching into the Daniel fest.

  4. Are you ready? Yes? Are you really ready? All right?

  5. So I'm gonna I want to talk about two things.

  6. I want to talk about intimacy and about partnership. And

  7. if you've been at New Horizon very long, you're already

  8. kind of familiar with this stuff, and so we don't

  9. have a lot of time for the sermon. So since

  10. you are already very familiar, I'm not going to go

  11. too deep on this stuff, right, So, but I want

  12. to courage you that that over these twenty one days,

  13. this is what we're trying to do, is we're trying

  14. to deepen our intimacy.

  15. With the Lord.

  16. Right, So that's our friendship in prayer, that's worship, communion

  17. time spent. You know, we're asking you in the book,

  18. we're asking you to spend thirty minutes in each one

  19. of your devoted times with the Lord some morning, noon evenings.

  20. That's kind of the bar that we're setting, and a

  21. lot of that is developing the intimate side of friendship.

  22. So in the Lord, we are no longer called slaves.

  23. We're called friends. So we enter in with boldness because

  24. of the covering of the blood of Jesus. We enter

  25. in as friends, not as slaves. When we enter in

  26. with worship, and we enter in with thanksgiving, and we

  27. enter in and prayer out of this friendship relationship because

  28. we're sons dead marker, because we're sons and you know

  29. what love underneath. Yeah, I just saw my new markers

  30. right there, and I prefer.

  31. The darker.

  32. So let's grab the black as the black there. The

  33. black's not there. The black's right there, stolen by Pastor

  34. Dwayne earlier. Perfect beautiful. So we are sons right and

  35. daughters right, and we are friends, yes, And so that's

  36. that's cultivating the intimate side of our of our prayer.

  37. And as we cultivate that, then we enter into his

  38. presence and it's that devoted friendship and that devoted time

  39. where we enter into his presence, then we begin to

  40. hear from him. And when we hear from him, everybody

  41. say here, When we hear from him, then it's inspired thoughts, right,

  42. it's wisdom, it's insight, it's inspired thoughts, and it's the

  43. leading of the Holy Spirit right, and that's where we're

  44. getting the Rama of Holy Spirit. The Rama of Holy

  45. Spirit is the living Word, and the living Word has

  46. life giving power, and the Rama the Living Word, not

  47. the logos, but the Holy Spirit quickening us because we're

  48. spending time with Him results in the power to exercise faith.

  49. So now we're hearing from Him because we're taking time

  50. to enter in with him Romans ten seventeen. Faith cometh

  51. by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ, the

  52. Rama of Christ. And so we're hearing living words and

  53. it's just coming as inspired thought. It's not like and

  54. you might it might feel audible or not. It might

  55. feel like there's goosebumps there or not. It might feel

  56. like super powerful or not. But you'll recognize higher thoughts

  57. and thoughts that you probably wouldn't have thought.

  58. Right.

  59. So sometimes that's how you know Holy Spirit speaking is

  60. because what you're hearing is not something you would have

  61. thought of, and so you're taking note of that, and

  62. that's empowering your partnership in the spirit with them. That's

  63. empowering what around here we call the prophetic right. That's

  64. empowering a prophetic expression or decrees and declarations, and so

  65. that's where we're entering into partnership with him. So there's

  66. things happening in the spirit realm, and I want to

  67. go to a couple verses on this fact is, let's

  68. go to a couple of verses on this some that

  69. we could just pull out of our memory, right, we

  70. could pull a few out of our memory. For instance,

  71. Matthew sixteen nineteen, I will give you the keys to

  72. the Kingdom, and whatsoever you bind will be bound, and

  73. whatsoever you lose will be loosed.

  74. Right, So you're familiar with that one, and.

  75. You know the context is that we're hearing from him

  76. and we're taking steps of authority in prayer on the

  77. basis of what we're hearing. So we're hearing what he's loosed,

  78. and we're hearing what he's bound, and we're interacting with

  79. the promises. We're coming up into the promises in prayer,

  80. and then we're partnering with him. So you know, the

  81. highest realm of Christianity, the highest realm of Christianity is

  82. not petition. Petition is the pathway to the highest realm.

  83. So petition is where we're going up into the atmosphere

  84. of hearing from him. But the highest realm is where

  85. we partner with Him through declaration and prophetic decree.

  86. That's the highest.

  87. Realm, because that's what and that's what the earth is

  88. longing for. Right we read it out of Romans eight

  89. last week. The earth is longing for the manifestation of

  90. the sons of God, that they would deliver the earth

  91. out of futility and to the liberty that the Sons

  92. of God have been they themselves been delivered into. You've

  93. been delivered into liberty when you partner with Holy Spirit

  94. in prophetic decrees and declarations. Now you're coming up into

  95. a realm as a manifest Sun, where of their things

  96. begin to shift and change and come up into that

  97. realm as well. And we're putting a lot of our focus,

  98. a lot of our aim this particular season on restoring

  99. the church. We want to see the church restored. We

  100. realize that we are we're in a day and an

  101. age where over half of the church is falling short

  102. of the glory of God. But the promise is for

  103. a glorious church, one that's been washed by the water

  104. of His word, and one that is glorious in every way.

  105. That's the promise. That's what God has in mind, that's

  106. what he's ordained. We can partner with him and bringing

  107. that to pass as we come into prayer and we

  108. come in, we can come in with petition, but we're

  109. going to come into that higher realm of hearing from

  110. Him and then partnering with him. Is that good? Let

  111. me read to your revelation eight to two. This is

  112. I want you to see the picture a part of

  113. what's happening as you pray. And I saw seven angels

  114. who stand before the Lord, and the seven trumpets were

  115. given to them. And another angel came and stood at

  116. the altar holding a golden sea, sir, And much incense

  117. was given to him, that he might add it to

  118. the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar

  119. that was before the throne. This is interesting, your prayers

  120. are coming up into the throne. This is just one picture,

  121. one metaphor of what's happening in prayer, right, And so

  122. what's happening in prayer as well as it is you're

  123. coming up in prayer. Your prayers are coming up before

  124. the throne in petition. Guess what else is coming up impetition? Impetition,

  125. and in this intimate friendship, you're coming up, You're coming

  126. up into the throne, and you're realizing, oh, I'm seated

  127. in heavenly places. So part of what's happening in our

  128. intimate friendship is leaving the world behind and coming up

  129. into higher places. So we come up with our worship,

  130. with our petitions, we come up as well, and so

  131. we can see what's going on. Listen, though, let's go on,

  132. and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of

  133. the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand,

  134. and the angel took the censer and he filled it

  135. with the fire of the altar and threw it to

  136. the earth. And there followed peals of thunder and sounds

  137. and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. What would happen

  138. if the prayers, if the saints weren't praying in this picture,

  139. in this passage of Revelation eight two through five, what

  140. would happen if the saints weren't praying, There wouldn't be

  141. a shift on the earth. The shift on the earth

  142. was coming because of a partnership with heaven. So as

  143. we well, I'm more excited than you are. I can

  144. tell already we got to stir something up in here.

  145. The wet blankets of darkness have been trying to visit

  146. your heart this morning during church. But you're gonna blow

  147. those blankets off right now. Get rid of them. Say

  148. blankets go. We are not going to be under the

  149. wet blankets.

  150. Of anti prayerrism.

  151. Hallelujah, Awaken thyself, Splash coffee in thine face. Look at this,

  152. Look at this. The smoke of the incense with the

  153. prayers of the saints went up before God out of

  154. the angel's hands, and the angel took the sensor and

  155. filled it with the fire from the altar and threw

  156. it to the earth. And there followed peals of thunder

  157. sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Now, don't

  158. you know, we don't even know what was happening there

  159. in the spirit realm, but I want you to see

  160. something was happening.

  161. And this is the hope that we have.

  162. The hope that we have and the reality that we've

  163. been walking in is the our devotion in fasting and

  164. prayer brings us into a place of partnership in the

  165. spirit realm, which is then being thrust into the earth

  166. to bring a shift and a change to our generation,

  167. to our environment. And it's going to bring a shift

  168. in a change to the church. And as the Church goes,

  169. so goes the world. We want more of heaven.

  170. That's good. That's good. You're sharing yourself up.

  171. The wet blankets are I feel the wet blankets are

  172. being thrown off of your hands because I feel the

  173. clapping of the church. Come on, come on, come on,

  174. let's do it again. Let's do it again. It is

  175. so hard to clap with those wet blankets, and so

  176. we're casting those off right now. Fact does just stand

  177. for a moment. Stand No, this is not the closing.

  178. This is the first closing. Say it with me, Say

  179. it with me. I throw off, I throw off every

  180. wet blanket standing between me and prayer, between me and

  181. my sonship, between me and my intimacy.

  182. With Father and with Holy Spirit.

  183. I say, go, get off of this twenty one days,

  184. Get off of my heart and my mind, Get off

  185. of my family, get off of this church, Leave us

  186. alone in Jesus' name, Give him thanks right now, give

  187. the Lord a thank offering. Come on, come on, come on.

  188. He's so good. He's so good. He's so good. He's

  189. so good. He's so good.

  190. He's so good. Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord, Thank

  191. you Lord. Breakthroughs, breakthroughs, breakthroughs, breakthroughs. Give us a vision

  192. of breakthroughs. Give us a vision of a new church.

  193. Give us a vision of a new Washington. Give us

  194. a vision of a new nation and a new.

  195. Globe.

  196. We want a global change and a global shift and

  197. a global breakthrough. Lord, we want a global breakthrough. Lord,

  198. we want a global breakthrough. Thank you, Lord. You may

  199. be seated. I heard the Holy Spirit say to me

  200. this morning, it's harvest time. But then, but then we

  201. could say, oh good, that's your sovereign will go after it, God,

  202. go big, God, and then we could miss our partnership

  203. with his word. His word is never a guarantee. His

  204. word is the unfolding of the potential that we can

  205. enter into as we partner with him.

  206. That's what his word is.

  207. His word is the potential of the unfolding of his

  208. will that we can partner with if we will then

  209. exercise our faith to be a part of it. That's

  210. why it says faith cometh by hearing. Faith is a

  211. potential that comes by the Spirit for us to enter

  212. into and partner with, so that as we partner with it,

  213. then the thing that he desires to do can come

  214. to pass. The thing that he desires to do can

  215. come to pass.

  216. Amen.

  217. I want to just I want to bug you a minute.

  218. Are you ready to be bugged?

  219. One of the prevalent and predominant, maybe maybe even the

  220. most prolific doctrinal influencers in the church is John Calvin.

  221. And John Calvin launched what is now known is the

  222. Second Reformation, or in most circles just known as the Reformation.

  223. But there was the Reformation before with Martin Luther, and

  224. he was known as a Reformer, and he launched what

  225. would be the first Reformation and began the Protestant movement

  226. those who protest. That's where we get the word Protestant,

  227. those who protest. He was protesting Catholicism's heresies. And not

  228. all of Catholicism is filled with heresy, but he identified

  229. ninety five heresies. That's early fifteen hundreds. One hundred years

  230. later comes John Calvin. John Calvin protests another giant boatload

  231. of Catholic heresies.

  232. He starts a reformation.

  233. And all who follow him would not be called Protestants.

  234. They would be.

  235. Called reformed reform theology, reformed churches and reform theology of

  236. which you know the mountain. The list of that is long,

  237. but the central one is the Presbyterian Church. And I'm

  238. you know, in thirty three years of being your pastor,

  239. I'm not one to talk bad about other churches. I'm

  240. not one to talk bad about other theologians. We took

  241. the position years ago we're going to emphasize the truth

  242. and make our emphasis on the truth and not on

  243. the laws.

  244. But tomorrow.

  245. But this morning I want to break with that a

  246. little bit, because the emphasis of reform theology is so vast,

  247. and the emphasis today still of reformed the churches like

  248. Mars Hill in Seattle, which was there at one time

  249. and ten thousand people, or like I'm trying to think

  250. of the one I mentioned this morning. His name John Huh,

  251. John MacArthur, No, no, no, John Piper. So anyway, the

  252. influence is vast of reform churches, and out of Calvinism

  253. came five Tenants of Faith, but mountains of books. He

  254. wrote mountains of books, and much of the influence of

  255. Calvinism is antithical to what we talk about at New Horizon.

  256. But yet I recognize you have to fight, maybe inwardly,

  257. that battle a little bit, because if you've been to

  258. any other church on the planet more than three Sundays,

  259. you've been exposed to reform theology. And reform theology is

  260. going to rob you to a degree of your passion

  261. to pray, because it's robbing you of your passion of

  262. a partnership with God, and it's robbing you of the

  263. need for you to enter into that partnership. Because the

  264. viewpoint of sovereignty, the sovereignty of God, of Calvinism and

  265. reform theology is so pervasive, so strong, and it's entered

  266. into our churches so deeply that even us we can

  267. walk around and observe evil, or observe difficulty or hardship

  268. or pain or loss or suffering or circumstance, and we

  269. can assume, well, that's just God's will. Well, God's in

  270. charge of everything, that's why that's happening.

  271. And so this.

  272. Has snuck into the church culture deeply, and I just

  273. want to bring it to you that it's antithical to

  274. what I put on the board, and that it harms

  275. our passion to pray, and even subconsciously, it can harm

  276. your passion to get engaged in these twenty one days

  277. because you subconsciously, not consciously subconsciously, you can be thinking

  278. what difference will it make? How can I move God?

  279. When he already has made up his mind about what

  280. he's going to do? Who am I as a player

  281. in this? Or if he wants me to do something,

  282. he'll show it to me. I'm not listening to a

  283. church to tell me what to do. I'm listening to God.

  284. And no, he didn't even he didn't even convict me

  285. about it whatsoever. He didn't empower me. I had no

  286. grace for it whatsoever. So therefore it wasn't his will.

  287. And so let me read. I want to read to

  288. you out of Calvin's institute. I want to read to you.

  289. I'm almost done second closing this. This is out of

  290. book one, Book one, and this is chapter sixteen. I

  291. want to drill down on how deep Calvin saw and

  292. this is I mean literally, there's mountains of books on

  293. this and we could be here for several like, this

  294. is the kind of stuff you go to Oxford for

  295. and study four years. Right on arguing Calvinism against Armenianism, right,

  296. and so we aren't going to solve it all for you.

  297. Maybe this morning, or maybe maybe we will. Maybe you'll

  298. just be quickened by Holy Spirit, and maybe you'll just

  299. realize that there's something subconscious that is affecting you and

  300. it's harming you from really diving deep into a prayer

  301. partnership with Holy Spirit. I'm praying that's what happens. I'm

  302. praying that even though you might be on board for

  303. the most part with New Horizon style Armenian theology, you

  304. might you might just realize that there's some of this

  305. still kind of bugging me at my gut level that

  306. I need to dismiss. I need to confront it, I

  307. need to over over overtake it, I need to demolish

  308. every argument. So here's out of book one, and this

  309. is out of chapter sixteen. If one falls among robbers

  310. or ravenous beast, if a sudden gust of wind at

  311. sea causes shipwreck, if one falls among robbers, or if

  312. one is struck down by the fall of a house

  313. or a tree, or if another, when wondering through a

  314. desert path, meets with deliverance or after being tossed by waves,

  315. arrives in port and makes some wondrous hair breadth escape

  316. from death. All these occurrences prosperous as well as adverse.

  317. Carnal sense would attribute to fortune. But those who have

  318. learned from the mouth of Christ that the very head,

  319. hairs of your head are numbered, will look further for

  320. cause and hold that all the events, whatsoever, are governed

  321. by the secret count soul of God. Now he drills

  322. deep on this for volume after volume, that you'll never

  323. know the will of God, you'll never know the counsel

  324. of God. You can't explain the will and the counsel

  325. of God, and that these things just take place. And

  326. this is all the will of God. It's all the

  327. sovereign will of God. And part of the mindset of Augustine,

  328. which he was much earlier. But Calvin reaches into his

  329. theology and draws much from Augustine. Part of this is

  330. the belief system that Satan has been demolished or darkness

  331. has been demolished, and that being so, then the only

  332. reasoning is that God is in the midst of everything.

  333. Even what appears to be evil is not evil at all.

  334. It's God's hand for a greater cause or a purpose

  335. in your life. It's a misunderstanding of scripture. It truly is. Listen,

  336. he goes on. He says, with regard to inadamate objects,

  337. we must hold that though each is possessed of its

  338. particular properties, yet all of them exert their force only

  339. in so far as directed by the immediate hand of God.

  340. Hence they are merely instruments into which God constantly infuses

  341. what energy he sees appropriate, and turns and converts to

  342. any purpose at his pleasure. We had a friend lose

  343. his life, and about how old was Peter. He was

  344. scrambling up a mountain up near Smokwalmie Pass, and scrambling

  345. up a mountain, you know, didn't have a helmet on.

  346. Scrambling means running up the rocks as fast as cannibun.

  347. So the guys were doing it. And toward the top

  348. those particular big rocks, you know, they're like chrys falls,

  349. only they're bigger. Right, those particular rocks kind of gave

  350. out and he lost his way, and he tumbled down

  351. the hill and died at the bottom of the hill. Well,

  352. this theology would say that those rocks gave way for

  353. him and not for the others. There were about ten

  354. guys with him that morning, because it wasn't time for

  355. the utters to die.

  356. But those other but the.

  357. Rocks that gave way for him. They were moved upon

  358. though inanimate, though inanimate objects, they were moved upon by

  359. divine purpose to give way for him, because it was

  360. his day. So this, this intricate control of Calvinism, has

  361. been woven in to all of our theology since sixteen

  362. hundred and to a degree it affects all of you.

  363. And even for you to say, like, well, God's in

  364. charge now you might polish it off with therefore our

  365. trust him. Well that's good, and go ahead and trust God.

  366. But the enemy is still at work, and so are

  367. a bunch of humans with free will. God has sovereign

  368. desires and he's leading us in a sovereign plan. And

  369. Armenianism would say that God is in charge, but he's

  370. not in control. There's a lot we can know about

  371. what God desires to do. But the way this whole

  372. thing works is this divine partnership. It works where we

  373. are reaching up with desire to know his will. We're

  374. reaching up into the heavens in prayer in petition, we're

  375. coming up into our sonship where we can see what

  376. he desires.

  377. Then we partner with him with prophetic decree.

  378. And declaration, and Heaven responds and react acts by sending

  379. crazy powerful movement into the spirit realm wherein we dwell

  380. and in our generation, and then things shift, and this

  381. is what he desires. It's enough that he doesn't know

  382. what he wants to do, that he doesn't know what

  383. he desires to accomplish. It's just that he has limited

  384. himself to partner with us. And the partnership doesn't have

  385. to be like a super limited partnership because he's shown

  386. his full hand of sovereign desire to the Son. And

  387. then the son has made us one with the Father.

  388. So we enter into the Father through the Son, who's

  389. become the victorious man, the supreme overcoming one. So we

  390. don't have to have a limited knowledge. We can actually

  391. know his will because the Sun knows his will and

  392. to the Son he's given everything, including the earth, and

  393. so we can enter into the Sun. We can hear

  394. from the Sun, and then we can have the words

  395. of the Sun to declare in our generation as send.

  396. Now this is what we want to do in our

  397. twenty one days. This is this is our this is

  398. our prayer and our desire, and I'm just I'm praying over.

  399. You that if any disablement.

  400. Is bothering your soul, like if you're you know, out

  401. of this reform theology, if any disablement is bothering you

  402. like you're feeling like, well, God's gonna do what he's

  403. gonna do anyway.

  404. No, he's not.

  405. Not without a generation of believing ones, the not into

  406. the lives of unbelieving ones. He's not going to do that.

  407. He respects your sovereignty so much. He will not superimpose

  408. his sovereignty over years. He will wait until he has

  409. a partner to bring what he wants to do in

  410. the earth. Because he respects your sovereignty. He's put a

  411. boundary around your sovereignty. But when you desire him, then

  412. he comes near. So that's why James Ford says, draw

  413. near to me. This is father talking through James. Draw

  414. near to me, and I'll draw near to you. Draw

  415. near to me and I'll draw near to you. This

  416. is what we're doing for twenty one days, and it's

  417. kind of a first fruit. It's really a first fruit.

  418. We're setting this whole year apart, and we're saying, Father,

  419. we want you to mark the whole year. We want

  420. this whole year set apart for you. We want you,

  421. Holy Spirit, to mark this whole entire year. Let it

  422. be a year of transformation and change. Let it be

  423. a year of the outpouring of the spirit. Let it

  424. be that year of harvest. Holy Spirit. I'm asking you

  425. deliver us right now. Deliver us from every lie, every excuse,

  426. every heresy, every wrong thinking, every wrong thought, every doctor

  439. is just coming off. I don't know how many of

  440. us wake up in the mornings or just throughout the day,

  441. there's a fogginess and lack of clarity until you hit

  442. that caffeine. I don't know, but I feel like it's

  443. too It's God wants to eliminate that. And if that

  444. means getting off caffeine, get off caffeine. You know what

  445. I'm saying. So I'm going to pray and declare that

  446. over us and that the demon of fogginess would come off.

  447. Is that okay? Yeah?

  448. And and it comes to me, Satan knows how powerful

  449. you are. John Calvin. Maybe didn't know how powerful you are.

  450. Come on, but Satan knows how powerful you are in

  451. your generation and for the generations to come, because the

  452. Kingdom has built generation on generation, so our ceiling becomes

  453. floor to the next generation. Come on, and Satan knows that.
