  1. Uh now, I'm excited. It's an honor. Today.

  2. What we're gonna do is we're gonna be talking about

  3. the gifts, the what the gifts of God. So there's

  4. many gifts from God, and so when we talk about gifts,

  5. probably a lot of things kind of pop up in

  6. our head.

  7. About what a gift is or what it is not.

  8. Uh So we're gonna we're gonna chat through a few

  9. things today. But in the Word, there are actually multiple

  10. types of gifts, and you may have seen it organized

  11. something like this. You have the office gifts or the

  12. fivefold minister gifts. How many have heard of those before?

  13. Raise your hand? Have you heard of those before?

  14. Okay?

  15. So these are going to be Oh I gotta get

  16. this pen. Okay, so this this is the powerful anointed pen.

  17. This is the pastor Dwayne Penn.

  18. So, Pastor Dwayne, if you're listening, I'm totally keeping this, okay.

  19. Uh But so the office gifts, these are the fivefold gifts.

  20. These are gonna be out of Ephesians four. Everyone say

  21. Ephesians four. Okay, So if you want to do some

  22. homework on that, you can do that. I don't have

  23. time to read it today. The motivational gifts, these are

  24. like ways that people are motivated to serve. That's the

  25. traditional way that people look at it. And so motivational

  26. gifts are out of Romans twelve. Everyone say Romans twelve, perfect, okay.

  27. And then the manifestational gifts. These are the gifts that

  28. you can think about these as like the gifts of

  29. the Holy Spirit. Traditionally we talk about it like that,

  30. these are ways that God, the Holy Spirit manifests himself

  31. in the earth through these gifts. And so you have

  32. things like the prophetic right, discerning of spirits, speaking in tongues,

  33. gifts of healings, that kind of thing, And so that

  34. would be out of one Corinthians twelve.

  35. Everyone say one Corinthians twelve. Okay. So we have a

  36. few cool.

  37. Things happening today, and I want to chat through a

  38. few of these, and then we're going to go into

  39. a few billion points. One thing about gifts is is

  40. that they're super important. Why is a gift important? Helps

  41. the body grow, it blesses shows God's glory. Think about

  42. when you give a gift on Christmas. If you're giving

  43. a gift, what does it say about the person you're

  44. giving it to? They're valued, they're loved, they're respected, they're esteemed. Right,

  45. we give gifts to others because it's actually a form

  46. of honor because you're seeing them as they are, as

  47. a child of the King. So it's important for us

  48. when we think about gifts. It's the same way God

  49. loves to give gifts to people because it shows his

  50. honor and his value, his esteem for them.

  51. Amen.

  52. Okay, so we're gonna chat through a few of these differences.

  53. First off, these office gifts are five full ministry giftings. Okay,

  54. we look at these. There's something interesting about these. The

  55. person is actually the gift. Let me say that again,

  56. the person is actually the gift. Who are they given

  57. to the Body of Christ, the body of believers. So

  58. we're called as the collective Church, big c Church, not

  59. just UFUS here but everywhere around the world. We're collectively

  60. called the Church or the Ecclesea. But we're the Body

  61. of Christ.

  62. And so these five.

  63. Groupings of giftings have been given to the Church for

  64. us to equip the saints for the work of ministry.

  65. We think these five full ministers are there to do

  66. the ministry, and we just sit and watch them do it.

  67. How many grew up with that as a reality. Be honest, Okay,

  68. you're doing it right now, Just kidding, just kidding. But

  69. you're looking at this and they are meant to equip

  70. you for the works of ministry. They don't actually, can

  71. I tell you something. They don't have to be the

  72. most flashy gifting like, for example, prophet. They don't have

  73. to be the most prophetic one in the room to

  74. be called a prophet.

  75. What why?

  76. Because New Testament prophet is called to equip the saints

  77. for the work of ministry.

  78. So what is their goal? They're under aligned desire?

  79. It's to build us up so we can say the

  80. things that God is saying about people, to see a

  81. world transformed as the world was created by words. The

  82. prophet is teaching us how to prophesy so that the

  83. world is transformed around us.

  84. They're equipping us. Everyone say amen.

  85. But they don't have to be the flashiest prophetic voice

  86. in the world to be considered a prophet. An office

  87. of a prophet? Does that make sense? Do they have

  88. a gifting in the prophetic? Oh for sure, Oh for sure.

  89. But there's a separation between an office gift and a

  90. manifestational gift. Okay, we could look at the other ones evangelists, apostle, pastor, teach.

  91. We look at these five and how many have heard

  92. of these five titles before?

  93. Okay?

  94. But what do we call everyone in the church? I

  95. mean leaders, leaders, pastors. Generally we use the term pastor.

  96. You know, on the New Testament, this word is hardly

  97. ever used. Yeah, just once, and if you include shepherd,

  98. you could include a few more times because the pastor

  99. is a shepherd. But yeah, one time, which means, why

  100. do we call everyone a pastor? Are you saying eighty

  101. five percent of the church or pastors? I'm asking you

  102. yes or no?

  103. No?

  104. Because look at the new look at the New Testament.

  105. What is the most one of the most common terms

  106. is apostle. That's interesting. We don't call anyone apostle hardly

  107. in ever on your business card? Do you have apostle? Okay,

  108. probably not, And there's a reason for it, right. It's

  109. the key people from being self declared apostles or prophets.

  110. You can't be self declared something. God has to call

  111. you out. Okay, I'll preach it to myself if I

  112. need to. Okay, I'll turn this way. I'll just keep going,

  113. just you and me.

  114. Okay. So, but so these are very interesting, they're needed,

  115. we need them, so they deserve honor.

  116. Why because Jesus thought it was a good idea for

  117. us to have them. So probably we need to lean

  118. into it because we need to be equipped for the

  119. works of ministry.

  120. Who are the ministers us? Ever?

  121. Say, I'm a minister? Wait, but I'm not a pastor?

  122. Can I minister?

  123. Yes? Where are you called? Are you called the lows?

  124. Okay, well, then it's time for you to start discipling

  125. the nations at lows? And how are you going to

  126. do it? How are you going to transform culture? How

  127. is this whole thing going to get transformed? It's when

  128. all of us start doing the stuff. What did Jesus do?

  129. Healed the sick, cast it out demons, made disciples, he taught,

  130. he preached, he loved on people.

  131. He served. That's what he did.

  132. That was his whole ministry, and he turned the world

  133. upside down in three years of ministry. Imagine if you

  134. were Jesus at your workplace, I mean, if you actually

  135. viewed yourself and I actually viewed myself as Jesus on

  136. this world. The Bible says, In this world, we are like, oh, bro,

  137. where are our Bible readers at? Okay, okay, okay, I'm

  138. getting fired up now I'm coming out here. Sorry, cameraman,

  139. team Okay. So in this world we are like who

  140. oh that was quiet. I heard a few right here,

  141. Thank you, Jen. In this world we are like Jesus.

  142. Okay.

  143. In this world, we are like Jesus. Wait say that again.

  144. In this world we are like, wait, what does that mean?

  145. What does that mean? You are exactly like Jesus manifested

  146. on the earth. When he comes and lives in you

  147. and you abide in him, become exactly what you behold.

  148. And the reason maybe why we're not becoming what we

  149. behold is because we're actually not beholding him. We're beholding

  150. a version of Western Christianity that we've inherited, but maybe

  151. it's not a full image in picture of Christ. And

  152. I'm preaching on myself because there are so many areas

  153. of my life where I am lay z Everyone say lazy,

  154. Zach stopping lazy.

  155. Say that I received that word. That's good, that's a rebuke,

  156. that's healthy. Out that helps. But it's important for us to.

  157. Know we need to be equipped because these are not

  158. the ministers the.

  159. New Testament reality. We don't believe it. Oh, I can't

  160. believe it. This room doesn't believe it.

  161. Right now, literally, these people are not the ministers, but

  162. we have raised them up like they are.

  163. You are the ministers. The world is.

  164. Transformed through Their job is to get you to believe it.

  165. That's what I'm trying to do right now. I'm trying

  166. to get you to believe that you're a big deal

  167. in this spirit, that when you speak, things change, your

  168. atmosphere shift around you because you believe in God.

  169. You're not a victim. You're a victor. Just difficult things

  170. happen to you.

  171. Yes, but you overcome by the blood of the Lamb

  172. and the word of his testimony. Okay, so those are okay,

  173. ever and state that's the office gifts. Okay, that's you

  174. have to calm down, Zach, all.

  175. Right, all right.

  176. Next up, we have the motivational gifts we talked about.

  177. These are the ones like serving. So these are typically

  178. seeing as ones how you serve or you're motivated to

  179. serve other people in so you have a few different ones. Prophecies, serving, teaching, encouragement, giving, leading, mercy.

  180. You've also maybe heard like administration or gift of helps,

  181. that kind of thing. So those are all ways that

  182. people could be motivated or they look at motivation.

  183. We're not gonna talk about that today. Everyone say boo.

  184. Okay, that's okay, come back tomorrow, maybe I'll be here

  185. we can talk about it. Manifestational these are, like we said,

  186. these are things where Holy Spirit comes in a room

  187. and he changes everything. So, for example, a word I'm

  188. gonna start in the second one word of knowledge. A

  189. word of knowledge is a supernatural drop of knowledge. It's

  190. not like learned knowledge. It's not book knowledge. It's not

  191. something that you learned from your parents, it's not something

  192. you learn from your college professor. It's something that the

  193. Holy Spirit dropped in your spirit that you would have

  194. never known.

  195. And who's it? Typically for somebody else?

  196. Okay, So a word of knowledge could be like, for example,

  197. like today, so somebody passor Geary had a word of

  198. knowledge that somebody needed healing in a certain area.

  199. So he had a supernatural.

  200. Basically dropping his spirit of knowledge that somebody in the

  201. body needed healing in a particular area.

  202. Okay, does that make sense? Are we doing good? So

  203. far Okay, A word of wisdom is a step further.

  204. Word of wisdom would be like if you have a

  205. word of knowledge, and maybe it's I use a business

  206. example in first service, I'll use it here and be

  207. like if you had a business and it was failing

  208. and you're like, God, I don't know why what is happening?

  209. And you start praying about it, and then somebody.

  210. Gives you a word that says, hey, I just see

  211. that there was some dark, demonic stuff that happened in

  212. this business before you got here, and actually I feel

  213. like some stuff needs to be cast out, and you

  214. actually need to get rid of some of these things

  215. that are still in your warehouse.

  216. That's a word of knowledge.

  217. Something is wrong in your business, right, And and then

  218. the word of knowledge goes a step further and gives

  219. you direction of what to do taking this step further.

  220. So that's a word of knowledge, word of wisdom. You

  221. have a gift of faith. Gift of faith is someone

  222. who believes something that is unrational for a normal Christian

  223. to believe, even those who are faith filled. Pastor Dennis, Okay,

  224. everyone look at Dennis, say that is you, bro I've

  225. worked with him enough in youth group and enough on

  226. mission trips to see you're crazy, man, you're crazy.

  227. But you know what the gift of faith does.

  228. It excites other people to faith, that's their gift, okay,

  229. and in locks and makes way for other things that

  230. start happening.

  231. Okay.

  232. Gifts of healings in the Greek it's a double plural,

  233. everyone say double plural gifts of healings, which means you

  234. have multiple types of gifts and multiple ways that people

  235. are healed. So you may look at somebody who operates

  236. in gifts of healing and they pray for somebody, maybe

  237. like a Benny Hinn or something, and he's like waving

  238. staff and Holy Spirit's fall and you're like, bro, that

  239. doesn't happen when I pray. Well, maybe because your gift

  240. of healing actually operates in a different way. And we've

  241. talked about how in the Body of Christ, each of

  242. it's been set. Actually, let's go to that verse. Let's

  243. go to one Corinthians twelfth. We'll read through this now

  244. to each one, the manifestation of the Spirit is given

  245. for the common what good? Remember this is the manifestational

  246. gifts to one there is given through the spirit a

  247. message or that word is logos in the Greek, which

  248. literally means word, a word of wisdom to another, a

  249. message of knowledge by means of the same What spirit? Oh,

  250. so we need the Holy Spirit to another faith by

  251. the same spirit to another. Gifts it should be gifts

  252. of healings. That's a translation to simplify it. Everyone would

  253. read that and be like, why is it double plural?

  254. We don't use that in English. Gifts of healings by

  255. that one spirit to another. Miraculous powers that is actually

  256. double plural. Workings of miracles, interesting, multiple ways people, multiple

  257. gifts within that multiple workings and multiple powers that are.

  258. Released to another. Is prophecy to another.

  259. Distinguishing between spirits or discerning discernings of spirits. That's say,

  260. double plural, multiple way to discern what's happening.

  261. And there's multiple types of spirits. Does that make sense? Okay?

  262. And another speaking in different kinds of tongues and to

  263. still another the interpretation of tongues. Okay, So we have those,

  264. but they're given for the common good, which means they're

  265. not just for you. You are not your own, your

  266. body at a price. So each member belongs to all

  267. the others. So I wonder why the world hasn't been

  268. transformed yet. You ever have a thought. I'm gonna tell

  269. you some crazy Can you forgive me in advance? Okay,

  270. pre forgiveness? Everyone say I pre forgiven. Some of you

  271. aren't doing it, and I can tell on your face.

  272. Forgive them. God, they'd know not what they do. What if.

  273. Every generation who's thought Jesus is coming back in their generation?

  274. How many thought that?

  275. Okay, I'm saying it could happen, but every generation thought

  276. that more or less?

  277. Right?

  278. Do they hear wrong? Did they think wrong? Maybe it's

  279. because Jesus coming back has something to do with us.

  280. Oh you don't believe it. I'll say it again. Maybe

  281. Jesus coming back actually has something to do with us.

  282. We look at the doom and gloom and times.

  283. But if you read the.

  284. End of the story, where does Heaven go? Heaven comes here,

  285. Heaven comes to earth. Jesus tells us to pray your

  286. kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it

  287. is in heaven. It would be really stupid for Jesus

  288. to teach that if he was just gonna blow this

  289. whole thing up anyway, really dumb, Some mean si don't

  290. believe it.

  291. But it doesn't make sense.

  292. Because if we have the belief system that everything's just

  293. gonna end now or end whenever God decides, right, because

  294. he decides when. But if we take no ownership over

  295. our part, then Jesus literally died for nothing.

  296. You understand, it would have been more powerful for.

  297. Jesus just to stay on the earth than for us to.

  298. Be an unbelief and do nothing.

  299. But we've been so deceived by end Time's theology that

  300. disempowers our productivity on the earth. But let's just think

  301. about it in simplicity. Why why would Jesus leave and

  302. then replicate himself in every believer and then tell us

  303. to make the earth like heaven. It's because he's restoring

  304. Eden through us. Oh man, some of us are still

  305. not getting it. He is restorting Eden through us through

  306. our partnership.

  307. We are the sons and daughters. We are the redeemed.

  308. Jesus is called the last Adam.

  309. Why because we don't need another one? What was Adam

  310. the king of the garden the world? He inherited the world,

  311. and so do we through Jesus. So there's a reason

  312. why we're giving this stuff. It's not just to save

  313. everyone that we can, which is true, but I'll tell

  314. you me, growing up, everything was about just saving people

  315. and almost zero about discipling nations.

  316. That was my inheritance.

  317. And I sat there, like, I don't really care about

  318. saving people? Can I be honest in my natural bent?

  319. I'm not bent like an evangelist. You talk to an evangelist,

  320. it's like all they think about, dude. Everyone said, yeah,

  321. that's kind of annoying. Okay, Okay, I literally talked to

  322. an evangelist and I'm like, you kind of get tired.

  323. You're like, bro, you're so visionary and you're like moving

  324. around so much. You just can you just slow down

  325. for like a second, Like, let's just who are discipling?

  326. He's like, just save everybody? Right, I'm talking about so

  327. and maybe right now, and they probably know who I'm

  328. talking about.

  329. But that's okay.

  330. But but that's what we think. We're all made different,

  331. and we're all made in the image of Christ, and

  332. we all matter, and we're all put in the body

  333. for a reason because we're restoring the earth.

  334. Okay, Okay, we need to move on. Are you guys ready?

  335. Praise God? Some of you?

  336. You can't say praise God like that. Some of you

  337. said it like praise God. We're almost done with this service.

  338. I get this guy, Pastor Dwayne, come back, Please don't

  339. go on vacation again, your youth pastors preaching?

  340. Where did I put my pen? There? Is? Okay? So

  341. there's actually a.

  342. Better way to look at the gifts. I feel like,

  343. maybe not better. Another advantageous way to look at the

  344. gifts is actually the word for gift. Because remember the

  345. new testimony we have was written in Greek, not English,

  346. so it's translated to English, and so we even talked

  347. about we read one Corinthians twelve. There are some words

  348. in there that weren't fully accurate, but they were translated

  349. because of simplicity of messaging. Right, if you're gonna give

  350. a full translation to mean something, sometimes you have to

  351. write something three four, five times longer than what was

  352. actually given. And then it starts to water down the

  353. clarity of the message, right, because you're getting the specificity

  354. and you're losing the watering down. So we got to

  355. look sometimes into the Greek to find out what's the true?

  356. Is there anything else.

  357. In the Greek that maybe we can glean from what

  358. was happening back then, and there actually are some things.

  359. So there are actually words for gift in the New

  360. Testament in the Grief Greek that I want to go through.

  361. First one is there's five I'm going to go through.

  362. Uh.

  363. And actually before I do that, I want to give

  364. an example. So in English we're very generalized. So who's

  365. going to be a victim? Raise your hand? Who's a victim? Sofia?

  366. You just okay, Sophia just got lane.

  367. So that's great. She's not a victim, she's a victor.

  368. She's she picked on Lane Lane. Would you prefer that

  369. your sister do it?

  370. Okay? So seven say yy?

  371. Sophia self volunteered. Okay, So, Sofia, what like tell me

  372. something like you love food?

  373. You love food? Okay, so like what's your favorite food? Pasta? Pasta?

  374. Okay, perfect? Okay, I have another question. Do you do

  375. you love your brother?

  376. Yeah? God, we just pray for Sophia right now.

  377. There's a little bigger it's a little begrudging, but it's okay,

  378. it's okay.

  379. It happens. They're siblings. How many of a sibling they love? Okay?

  380. That's good, Okay, all right, So you love lane, but

  381. you also love pizza.

  382. Okay, do you want to eat lane? Pasa? You're right?

  383. Not pastor not?

  384. Wait?

  385. What did I say? Pizza? Where are we at? What's

  386. going on? Pastor?

  387. Dwayne?

  388. Come back? Okay?

  389. So you love Pasa and you love your brother, but

  390. you don't want to eat your brother? How did we

  391. understand what kind of love? She was talking about? Context,

  392. because in the English we just use the same word

  393. for everything, and it may be very confusing if you're

  394. from anyone confused sometimes with the English language, if it's

  395. your second language, and you're like, what in the world

  396. he's the same word for that?

  397. Well, guess what? The same thing happens for gift.

  398. We use gift for present, right, we say like, give

  399. it a present, But we also say like that person's

  400. gifted encoding, like they're good at computer science.

  401. So we use both. But it depends on the context.

  402. Well, in the Greek there's, like I said, there's five

  403. different words for gift, so it's important for us to

  404. know which one do we have and what are we

  405. talking about?

  406. We do?

  407. Okay, okay, so the first one is called anathema. Everyone

  408. say anathema. Okay, This is used one time and it's

  409. in Luke twenty one and it's used to describe it

  410. consecrated gifts in the temple. Are we talking about that here? No,

  411. we're not talking about that. Okay, So that's forget it?

  412. Everyone say, I forgot it? Did you forget it already?

  413. Praise God? You're tuned into holy spirit? He already pre

  414. deleted that one, all right? Ready, next one is corbin

  415. another specific use for word for another specific word for gift.

  416. It's used in a temple treasury context. So did you

  417. forget that one already? What was that word? Okay?

  418. You didn't?

  419. I tested you forget it now though. Okay, here's the

  420. next one. Numtikos. Everyone say numatikos. If you know anything

  421. about the Greek, what does numa stand for? Spirit win breath?

  422. And so it actually in the Greek it's translated spiritual gift.

  423. But that's not what it means. It means spirituals, like

  424. spiritual things. But why do they translate it spiritual gift

  425. in the New Testament?

  426. Why? Because of clarity?

  427. They want something easily understood based within context. But we're

  428. not talking about new matikos in these We're actually gonna

  429. be talking about these other two. One is and I'm

  430. just gonna write them right here, so you're just gonna

  431. have to suffer. Everyone say praise God. First one is

  432. ditto me. Everyone say diddom. It's a pokemon.

  433. Uh. So this is diddo me. I'm sorry if I

  434. offended some people? Uh did a me?

  435. And then this next one is a charisma and even

  436. more narrow down, keis, does anyone know what charras means?

  437. Grace?

  438. So we have diddom, which all these other words in

  439. the Greek boil down to this base word. It's actually

  440. a verb, it's not actually the noun. So you're like,

  441. that doesn't mean gift. It means to gift. Okay, just

  442. slow down, Okay, all the words come from this. So

  443. diddo me means gift or present. Okay, So I'm gonna

  444. put this as a present in a more traditional context. Okay,

  445. like if I was going to give a gift to you,

  446. like in the traditional context, like a present.

  447. That's kind of what it means. So everyone heard.

  448. Of the gift of righteousness that we got through Jesus.

  449. That's a Dinimi gift, gift of the Holy Spirit. Didimi gift? Interesting?

  450. Huh?

  451. Okay, so charisma is different. It's a grace gift. Grace gift. Now,

  452. grace gifts are important because a grace gift you can't earn,

  453. you don't deserve it. Does that make sense? Because it's grace,

  454. God's grace towards you. And we're gonna find something. There's

  455. something amazing and something very frustrating about these type of gifts.

  456. But first I want to take a poll. How many

  457. think the office gifts are the didome or the charisma?

  458. Okay?

  459. So if you think the office gifts profit a vangels, apostile,

  460. pastor teacher, If you think those are ditome, can I

  461. have you raised your hand?

  462. Okay?

  463. If you think they're the charisma gifts, raise your hand.

  464. If you didn't raise your hand, raise your hand. Okay,

  465. So it's actually drummer please, okay, let's try it again.

  466. Proved all right, drumroll please? That was still not good. Okay,

  467. that's fine. This is the Didoman gifts, which is a present.

  468. It's a present to.

  469. The body of Christ, literally, like a gift He's giving

  470. directly to us. What about the motivational How many things charisma?

  471. Okay?

  472. How many things didomia or didoman nobody. Some of you

  473. aren't even sure. Now you're like, well, the first one

  474. was dinner me, so for sure, that's not it. How

  475. many didn't raise your hand? How many still didn't raise

  476. their hand the first time? Okay, thank you all right?

  477. So the motivational gifts are actually charisma. They're charisma gifts,

  478. which means grace gifts. Very interesting. So these these gifts,

  479. you could do nothing to earn them. They were given freely.

  480. They say everything about God's character and nothing about yours.

  481. I'll say that again. They have everything to do with

  482. God's character, nothing to do with yours. But we like

  483. to think we earn them because we're cool. We get

  484. into Christianity and we're saved by grace through faith, and

  485. then as soon as we're saved, we start works to

  486. try to prove ourself worthy. And that's why we still

  487. suffer internally because we don't understand there's literally nothing you

  488. could do to earn it.

  489. We literally deserve death.

  490. We got mercy and then he pours out all these

  491. free gifts on us. But we think now we got

  492. to earn it now, No, it's opposite. We actually work

  493. from grace. We don't work for grace.

  494. Were doing?

  495. Okay, give me a thumbs up. If you're doing okay,

  496. tell your partner whispering there and please help me. I

  497. don't know.

  498. This guy's crazy.

  499. This guy's crazy. You just tell your neighbor. I saw

  500. you guys whispering.

  501. Don't be doing that. And last up is manifestational. Can

  502. we have fun?

  503. Is it?

  504. Okay?

  505. Okay, I'm sorry in advance. Okay, I'm just am manifestational

  506. one Corinthians twelve. What do you think did ami or charisma?

  507. Didimi or chrisma Chrisma? You guys think, yeah, you're right. Okay, okay,

  508. you guys are too smart. Well, what does this mean?

  509. These are given by the grace of God. The power

  510. of His spirit flows through us. Here's the problem. It's

  511. by grace. So we can look at all these big

  512. time leaders in the church and we start to get disillusioned,

  513. Like God, why are all these leaders failing? They had

  514. massive gifts, massive they could move a room with their gift.

  515. The world would literally open up before them because of

  516. their gift. And we get frustrated and we're like God,

  517. what why did you give them that gift? You knew

  518. they were gonna mess it up.

  519. Well, yeah, same reason he gives you the gifts because

  520. he knew you're gonna mess it up. How many after

  521. the way he saved ever messed it up? Wow, some

  522. of you are like super perfect? Okay, on anyone wanted

  523. to take it like, you should take it up because

  524. I'm not. I've messed up probably a thousand times after

  525. being a Christian.

  526. There's no grace in the room for me.

  527. There. I'm just saying, you gotta have more grace. But

  528. we look at this and I'm like, why have these

  529. people failed? It's because it has nothing to do with

  530. their character. God gave them a sword, and the fruit

  531. of the spirit may not be built up yet, but

  532. he gave him a sword.

  533. Why Because He's so.

  534. Waiting for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed.

  535. Who's gonna walk in power of God? He will literally

  536. use anyone. And we're too bored sitting at home watching

  537. another show, not realizing the high calling that we have

  538. nothing wrong with watching a show, But we're so distracted

  539. in the West away from our true purpose in calling

  540. that we don't understand that God is waiting.

  541. For these to be revealed through us.

  542. You understand the Corinthian church that Paul's writing to here

  543. was messed up. People were in incests, people were in

  544. lawsuits in the church against each other. This isn't like

  545. a megachurch, guys, and they were messed up. But what

  546. was so profound about them that they actually believed God

  547. wanted to use them? So are we willing to look

  548. at each other and look at ourselves in the mirror

  549. and be okay with God?

  550. I can't earn this, I don't deserve it. You've given

  551. me a giant sword.

  552. Teach me how to teach me how to wield this well?

  553. And obviously we don't want people to fall. We can

  554. be disappointed about that. But let's look at a Romans

  555. eleven twenty nine. For God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

  556. God's gifts that word forgift there is charisma. God's grace,

  557. gift and his call are irrevocable. What does that mean?

  558. It's irrevocable. It's for keeps. You can't be taken back.

  559. God's gifts and his call are irrevocable, meaning He's not

  560. gonna take it back from you because he so believes

  561. in you.

  562. Why I've messed it up.

  563. Okay, well, I mean who hasn't in this room? Next

  564. one eleven twenty nine. This is King James. For the

  565. gifts and calling of God are without repentance. God is

  566. not sad about giving the gifts.

  567. Did disappointed when people misuse gifts, but.

  568. He's not sad about giving it because he still believes

  569. in people. Paul was a murderer and then in the

  570. next moment he wasn't. Could that happen in the West now,

  571. I mean, I don't know. He became pastor of churches.

  572. I think we'd have to put him through a thirty

  573. year process and then maybe he can serve on the

  574. parking lot team. I'm not saying people have to walk

  575. through a process. I'm just saying we have to understand

  576. the hyster historical reality of how mess up these people

  577. are and how mess up we are, and the grace

  578. of God that's immense for everybody.

  579. Okay, but here's the thing.

  580. This will get you into a room, This will wild

  581. the crowds, This is flashy and showy, but the thing

  582. that's gonna sustain you in the room is gonna be

  583. your integrity, your character, your fruit of the spirit. So

  584. the reason these leaders are falling is because they developed

  585. and cultivated the gift because it's easy, it doesn't depend

  586. on them. But the fruits do depend on them, meaning

  587. you have to spend time with the fruit bearer to

  588. become what you behold, and that takes time and a process, and.

  589. It's easy to skip one and do the other.

  590. So I want us to be a people who not

  591. only stewart and value the character in a church environment

  592. where we go to conferences where that we just know

  593. the pastor and the leader whoever's speaking is pure and righteous,

  594. and not just because they're flashy and showy. Because we're

  595. just as responsible for raising up these leaders.

  596. Oh that hurt.

  597. We're just as responsible for raising up these leaders because

  598. all we want is a show. Give us the glory.

  599. But I don't want to change. I don't want to

  600. be different. Ouch. Well that just took a turn. I'm sorry.

  601. This is supposed to be lighthearted. Oh everyone say God,

  602. thank you. But God just wants someone to believe that

  603. he can use them, and he'll use literally anyone. Say

  604. he'll use me, Say he'll use me. Do you believe

  605. it's irrevocable? Some of us don't. We're gonna end here.

  606. I think.

  607. Let's go to We're not gonna read. I'm just gonna

  608. summarize it. For Samuel twenty eight. If you remember this story,

  609. Saul is no longer the Lord had departed from Saul.

  610. He's already raised up David as the next leader anointed one. Right,

  611. but Saul's still king. Okay, Saul is still king. And

  612. so at the end of Saul's life, King Saul is

  613. no longer being answered by the Lord by prophets, by dreams,

  614. or by the urim, which is the high priest way

  615. of determining a yes or no, basically from God.

  616. So he literally.

  617. God was not speaking to him at all in a

  618. way that.

  619. He could receive. So what did King Saul do? Didn't

  620. you remember that story?

  621. He visits a witch, the Witch of Endor. So he

  622. visits a witch, which is funny because he was the

  623. one responsible for getting rid of all the spiritists and

  624. mediums and which is from the realm. So he sent

  625. them away, and then he has to He's like, whoa,

  626. He's thinking in his head, well, I don't hear from

  627. God at all, so I'm gonna manipulum late my way to.

  628. Get a word.

  629. I'm going to access the gifts to another way.

  630. That's why will never get you there. So Saul.

  631. Goes to this witch and I don't know what kind

  632. of crazy evil was going on, but she was able

  633. to call someone up from the dead the Place of

  634. the Dead, which, by the way, I don't think is

  635. possible anymore because someone now holds the keys.

  636. His name's Jesus. She brings up someone from the dead,

  637. and who does he ask to be brought up? Samuel?

  638. Saul, what are you thinking, dude, The last time you

  639. talked to Samuel, he gave you a word that your

  640. kingdom was going to be given to someone else, probably

  641. not the first prophet. I'd go see anyone else, Okay.

  642. Kind of crazy. So she brings up sid crazy story.

  643. She brings up Samuel the Place of the dead. Why

  644. because at that time they still had access the dermonic

  645. realms selled access to that area through witchcraft. So brings

  646. him up and he's basically like, you know one of

  647. these like.

  648. Why are you disturbing me?

  649. Man?

  650. You know I've been dead. He's been dead. Are we

  651. doing Okay?

  652. Let's stand I need to I need you to help

  653. me here. He's been dead, and he comes up and

  654. the lady who's performing this whole thing finds out it's Samuel, Samuel,

  655. the prophet Samuel. She starts freaking out because he's like, oh, dang,

  656. your soul, I'm dead.

  657. She thinks I'm dead. This is a trap. And Sol's like, no, no, no,

  658. it's fine, it's fine. Fine.

  659. So he talks to Samuel and Samuel just get just

  660. blasts him like, bro, tomorrow you're gonna die and your

  661. sons a terrible word. He didn't really think that through.

  662. But what's the crazy part about that story?

  663. Do you see it?

  664. Samuel still had the gift of prophecy he was dead,

  665. that gift was irrevocable. Let me tell you another story.

  666. Let me look at the heading. I think the second Kings. Yeah,

  667. Second King's thirteen. This next one we're going to talk

  668. about is about Elisha, the double portioned son of Elijah,

  669. not naturally but spiritually. So the crazy thing about Elijah

  670. was what happened in his life. Signs wondrous of miracles,

  671. gifts of healing, workings of miracles.

  672. This dude was just killing it.

  673. But he died from a sickness. That's wild. I mean

  674. there's a lot to it. But here's a perspective. Maybe

  675. you could look at the gifts of the spirit are

  676. mainly for others, also for you, but mainly for others.

  677. So maybe the reason we don't see these things a

  678. whole lot is because we think they're for us. We

  679. come to church because we think it's about us.

  680. I'll say that again.

  681. We come to church because we think it's about us.

  682. I just need another word, I just need someone to

  683. love me. And look, it's about that. I'm not saying

  684. it's not. But our focus cannot only be on us

  685. because we are the body of Christ, which means we

  686. need each other so bad.

  687. And this church has people who need to be healed.

  688. And maybe it's your gift that's gonna unlock it for

  689. that person.

  690. Maybe it's you.

  691. Maybe that prophetic word that you give that one person

  692. on that random day changes their entire life. And you're like,

  693. but I'm not a capital pee prophet. It doesn't matter.

  694. You're part of the body. We need you, you're needed.

  695. You're on the first team. You're called up to the

  696. eight squad. No more sitting on the bench, no more

  697. letting these people lead ministry. What if a people group

  698. a church decided no, I'm the ministry of God, and

  699. we stopped relying on the anointing of someone on the stage,

  700. and we started to carry what we've already been given.

  701. So in this story, Elisha died and was buried.

  702. Now, Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring.

  703. Dif first, verse twenty one.

  704. Here's he going? If you forgive anyone's.

  705. No, no, no, next next one for a second, King's thirteen,

  706. verse twenty one.

  707. Oh okay, there we go. Once while some iss your lights.

  708. Were burying a man. Who is burying them? We're burying

  709. a man. Suddenly they saw a band of raiders, so

  710. they threw the man's body into a lycious tomb. What

  711. elycis dead? Like, he's dead dead, He's in a tomb.

  712. And these guys are freaking out. They're like all the

  713. raiders are coming, and I just can imagine them being like, ugh,

  714. but we gotta bury him, you know, we still gott

  715. to bury him, Like we can just leave him here.

  716. And so they're like, they still did their job. So

  717. praise God, they did their job. Everyone give it up

  718. for those two.

  719. We'll see you in.

  720. Heaven, hopefully.

  721. That would be awesome, well done. If we see you.

  722. They're walking around like everyone in Heaven's walk around with

  723. these accomplishments, you know, things he did. And this dude's like, yeah,

  724. I threw that guy into Elisias too.

  725. And so when the body touched elycious bones, the man

  726. came to life and stood up on his feet.

  727. Literally they tossed him and he hit the bone. Could

  728. you imagine waking up and you're next door dead dude,

  729. You're like, what just happened? And then worse, a band

  730. of raiders comes to your tomb, you walk out, They're

  731. like last spring they ever came.

  732. I'm telling you that. But here's the point.

  733. The gift followed him to death. Even death cannot stop

  734. your gift. Your mess ups, your mistakes cannot erase your gift.

  735. You may have to walk through a little bit of

  736. a process to maybe get to restore, to pass or

  737. something like that. But I'll tell you what God so

  738. believes in you. He gave it to you for keeps.

  739. He gave it to you for keeps because he believes

  740. that much in you. So here's the part, here's the

  741. caveat the big catch. Who is the giver? And operator

  742. of these gifts. Holy Spirit. We need Holy Spirit. If

  743. you've never been baptized in the Holy Spirit, this is

  744. not baptized in water. By the way, baptized in water

  745. is repentance. You were dead in your sins. We killed

  746. you in the tub. You were dead. Some of you

  747. stayed down a long time because you really needed to die,

  748. and then we brought you back up and you had

  749. new life in Christ's that's beginner. That's one oh one. Okay.

  750. Another thing you need is the baptist in the Holy Spirit.

  751. You need to be baptizo. You need to be immersed

  752. in the Holy Spirit.

  753. Because I'll tell.

  754. You what, a world's not transformed just because we're awesome.

  755. Or we're naturally charismatic.

  756. We need the charisma of the Holy Ghosts to come

  757. and transform our world.

  758. And so here's what I'm gonna do.

  759. I'm gonnavite Destiny team up and we're gonna go after it.

  760. If you have never been baptized in the Holy Spirit,

  761. I want to invite you forward. Because the baptism being

  762. immersed in the Holy Spirit, like you are immersed in

  763. the waters of baptism, something happens. If it was important

  764. enough for Jesus not to begin his earthly ministry until

  765. he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and the Holy

  766. Spirit descended on him like a dove. If it was

  767. good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.

  768. So we need it. I believe this is in my.

  769. Humble opinion, this is the reason why the church has

  770. been so powerless because we either think we've been baptized

  771. already because we have a misunderstanding.

  772. Of the two baptisms, or we just don't.

  773. We just don't believe in the miracles today, so we

  774. don't welcome Holy Spirit to come and move. And so

  775. I want to give Holy Spirit the chance to move.

  776. So we're gonna pray for the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

  777. Does that make sense? Okay, Joe, Joe Burnham, where are you? Joe?

  778. Can I have you? I'm gonna come to you.

  779. I'm gonna have him share really quick, thirty seconds or

  780. less about what it felt like, what it was like

  781. getting baptized in the Holy Spirit.

  782. Okay, here we go, pute me on the spot.

  783. Man.

  784. So it was like it was amazing. So I was

  785. like it was like I was lost in time. I

  786. felt nothing but heat and just power just working through me.

  787. And when I came out of it, it was it

  788. was I don't know, it's hard to explain. It was

  789. like a different me and just like I don't know,

  790. I don't know how it worked.

  791. It was it was like God, Yeah, it was God.

  792. God came. He was immersing.

  793. God, give it up, for give it up for Joe.

  794. God immersed him, He immersed him. Do you want to

  795. be immersed I want to be immersed in you, God, Jesus.

  796. We want to be immersed in you. So come up

  797. and get prayer. I'm just gonna pray us out.

  798. God, I thank you.

  799. Would you transform us into an active body ones who

  800. work from grace, not for grace, And so Jesus, I

  801. just say in this room, we just command that the

  802. Holy Spirit, that you would work and you would flood

  803. and you would flow through every believer, that the joy

  804. of the Lord would be our strength, that the fire

  805. of God would come consume us. And so we release

  806. that over everyone in the room today, that we're empowered

  807. by your spirit, we're baptized by your fire, and we

  808. thank you for it right now in Jesus' name.

  809. Amen,
