  1. Father, We just thank you God for your word today.

  2. Let it be a refreshing to us. Let it be

  3. a newness to us. God, Holy Spirit, I give you

  4. the space, I give you the platform. God, I want

  5. you to be our teacher today. God, Fatherly welcome in

  6. the newness of your word, the newness of what you

  7. would have to share with your people. I pray for

  8. hearts to be ready to receive.

  9. From you in Jesus name. Amen, Amen, Amen, what morning

  10. it has been great.

  11. I wanted to start and open today with a few

  12. observations from the last times that we've been listening to

  13. all the sermons, and just I'm gonna go like super

  14. duper like breeze over them. I'm just gonna give you

  15. my observations, okay. Because they were talking about Isaac and

  16. j Isaac and Abraham. Abraham had wells that he had dug.

  17. Isaac went out to redig the wells that his father

  18. had dug, but they were stopped. And so what happens

  19. is Isaac is confronted in Genesis twenty six, verse eighteen

  20. from there on by the Philistines. And so the first

  21. time that he has a confrontation, he names the well

  22. esik in verse twenty. Then in verse twenty one, he

  23. digs another well, and they quarrel over that one also,

  24. so he called that one's name Sitna. And then he

  25. moved from there and dug another well, and they did

  26. not quarrel over it. So he calls it reroboth because

  27. he said, for now the Lord has made room for us,

  28. and we shall be fruitful in the land. Notice that

  29. every single time that he names it, he names it

  30. after what happens as a result of them claiming it

  31. and opening it up. Right, And so for first, Isaac

  32. calls the first one contention. I looked up the next one.

  33. It's actually called strife. So the first one was an

  34. altercation with words, the second one was an altercation physically right,

  35. And so they kept getting worse and worse confrontations till

  36. the third one. Then a breakthrough happened where the enemy

  37. did not contend over that well.

  38. Amen. Amen.

  39. So in these biblical times it meant that that the

  40. hope of the enemy is for you, when you are

  41. met with contention, that you will stop.

  42. And turn around.

  43. The enemy does not anticipate your willingness, though, to contend

  44. fiercely over what is yours. Because remember those wells were

  45. dubbed by his father Abraham, and Isaac came and redug

  46. the wells and named them. So here's my observations from

  47. what we've been talking and how it applies to the

  48. ancient pathways.

  49. Right.

  50. So, number one, where the inheritance is not enforced, the

  51. enemy enforces his will on it. Number two, when the

  52. rightful errors do not contend, the enemy will occupy. Number three,

  53. when the believer moves in confidence, God makes a place

  54. for us in the inheritance. That's all three, right, So

  55. I want you guys to think about those things. As

  56. we are teaching and learning about all of these different

  57. ancient pathways. There is going to be resistance, but I

  58. want you to agree right now with me that we

  59. do not permit discouragement, We do not permit contention, We

  60. do not permit fear right or spiritual sleepiness to keep

  61. us from our inheritance.

  62. Amen. Amen, let's move on to the title for today.

  63. While we travel the ancient pathways, it's the anointing and

  64. laying on of hands. These are huge topics for us

  65. right as believers, and so I want to get right

  66. into this. Let's begin with this, Lord help me out,

  67. say Lord, help Frank.

  68. The origin of oil.

  69. Many think the origin of oil is the holy anointing

  70. oil that is mentioned in Exodus and Leviticus. However, I

  71. found in Genesis twenty eight, verse ten through twenty two.

  72. It says here it is now Jacob. Verse ten says

  73. now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went towards Haran.

  74. So he came to a certain place and stayed there

  75. all night because the sun had set. And he took

  76. one of the stones of that place and put it

  77. on his head.

  78. And he lay down in that place.

  79. Then he dreamed, and behold, the latter was set up

  80. on the earth, and its top reached heaven. And there

  81. the angels of God were ascending and descending. And behold

  82. the Lord stood above it and said, I am the

  83. Lord God, God of Abraham.

  84. Do you have that?

  85. Yep, I'm the Lord God of Abraham, your father, and

  86. the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie

  87. I will give to you and your descendants. Also, your

  88. descendants shall be as the dust of the earth. You

  89. shall spread abroad to the west and to the east,

  90. to the north and to the south, and in you

  91. and your seed all the families of the earth.

  92. Shall be blessed.

  93. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever

  94. you go, and will bring you back to this land,

  95. for I will not leave you until I have done

  96. what I have spoken to you. Then Jacob awoke from

  97. his sleep and said, surely the Lord is in this place,

  98. and I did not know it. And he was afraid,

  99. and said, how awesome is this place. This is none

  100. other than the House of God, and this is the

  101. gate of heaven. Then Jacob rose early in the morning

  102. and took the stone that he had put put at

  103. his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured

  104. oil on top of it. And he called the name

  105. of that place Bethel, but the name of that city

  106. had been lost previously. Then Jacob made a vow, saying,

  107. if God will be with me and keep me in

  108. the way that I am going, and give me bread

  109. to eat and clothing to put on, so that I

  110. come back to my father's house in peace, then the

  111. Lord shall be my God, and this stone, which I

  112. have set as a pillar, shall be God's house.

  113. And of all that you give me, I.

  114. Will surely give you a tenth to you. So this

  115. is an interesting interaction right. So the man goes and

  116. sleeps in this place. God comes and interfaces with him,

  117. like he interacts with him.

  118. He's like, I'm gonna give you your inheritance.

  119. I'm gonna give you the promise that I promised your

  120. father Isaac.

  121. Then the man.

  122. Wakes up and his response is anoint the stone, anoint

  123. the pillar. So he spreads oil over it, right, and

  124. then the man makes a vow. Interestingly, though this morning,

  125. you don't have this one. I don't think over there

  126. at the I don't think you have it up for

  127. the screen. But this is Genesis thirty one eleven thirteen.

  128. Watch this.

  129. Because I found out that oil changes things when it

  130. touches it. Okay, in the Old Testament and in the

  131. New Testament, it was used for healing purposes. Wherever there

  132. was an open wound or an open sowred, they would

  133. rub oil on it, right, they would anoint people with oil.

  134. In more than anything, though it remains. I was researching

  135. what olive oil would do to a rock, and it

  136. completely changes the rock's surface forever. Like it doesn't evaporate,

  137. It goes into the rock and it changes the color

  138. of that rock forever. So that stone stayed like that

  139. verse chapter thirty one of Genesis, verse eleven and thirteen.

  140. Check this out.

  141. Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, Jacob,

  142. this is long after that interaction, okay. And I said,

  143. here I am, And he said, lift your eyes now

  144. and see all the rams which leap on the flocks

  145. are streaked, speckled, and grayish gray spotted. For I have

  146. seen all that Laban is doing to you. I am

  147. the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar, and

  148. where you made a vow to me. Now arise, get

  149. out of this land and return to the land of

  150. your family.

  151. Was the oil important to the man or to God? Both?

  152. So what we're looking at right there is that God

  153. responded to him, and then he says at the at

  154. later on down the road, he reminds him, Hey, the

  155. place that you put the oil on is where I

  156. I'm recalling it to your memory again. So there's a

  157. remembrance that happens not just to man, but to God. Right,

  158. he honors the fact that there was a point of

  159. contact with the oil and the pillar. He remembers our

  160. response to his word.

  161. And so this is what today is about for us.

  162. Is that I want us to remember the response, but

  163. I want you to know that God is a faithful

  164. God who remembers your response to him. So in Genesis

  165. it's used for marking right where he takes a vow.

  166. It's used for consecration in the Old Testament to set apart.

  167. It's used for ordination, to set a purpose. It's used

  168. for identification as one being holy.

  169. This is what the oil's about.

  170. In the New Testament, we see that the Apostles in

  171. Mark six thirteen, the apostles anointed people with oil. It

  172. says in Mark six thirteen, and they cast out many

  173. demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and

  174. healed them.

  175. Let's go to the laying on of hands.

  176. The hands are one of two parts that you actually

  177. see on God the Father, because it says that no

  178. man may see him lest they die. But he showed

  179. Moses his back and the finger from which he wrote

  180. on the tablets. So the hands are pretty important for us. Also,

  181. the hands are the central form of feeling for the

  182. human body. A person could read by using their hands.

  183. It's the only part that we use to communicate community

  184. like this, Give me a hand, let me give you

  185. a hand with that right. It's also the part that

  186. you can show one person honor right by shaking their

  187. hand right, or display aggression right, like that you know.

  188. We're going to fight, right? Or what do they say?

  189. Sometimes show me your hands right when they want to

  190. see that you're at peace.

  191. So what do you do? You just show your hands right.

  192. The other part is like when you applaud, that means

  193. you agree with what's being said or being communicated. Right,

  194. So that's agreement. But let's talk spiritually about it.

  195. You guys.

  196. Remember Ivan Roman, he was here during the summit. He said,

  197. the laying on of hand is not just a random

  198. church tradition. It's transference, it's activation. It's a biblical principle

  199. back by Heaven. When you understand what's happening, you stop

  200. being timid and you start moving with purpose. Before the

  201. apostles look at some ways in the Old Testament that

  202. the lay in hands is applied. During the time of

  203. Moses numbers twenty seven eighteen, and the Lord said to Moses,

  204. take Joshua, the son of None with you, a man

  205. in whom is the spirit, and lay your hands on him.

  206. Set him before Eliezer, the priests, and before all the congregation,

  207. and inaugurate him in their sight. And you shall give

  208. some of your authority to him, that the congregation of

  209. the children of Israel may be obedient. He shall stand

  210. before Eliezer, the priest, who shall inquire before the.

  211. Lord for him, by the judgment of the Urine.

  212. At his word, they shall go out, And that is word,

  213. they shall come in he and all the children of

  214. Israel with him, all the congregations. So Moses did as

  215. the Lord commanded. He took Joshua, set him before Alias

  216. or the priest, and before the congregation, and he laid

  217. his hands on him and inaugurated him, just as the

  218. Lord commanded, by the hand of Moses, already having the spirit,

  219. he then inaugurates and ordains him in public.

  220. Moses gives him some of his.

  221. Authority through the lane on of hands.

  222. A place of contact, right.

  223. I just talked about a place of contact with the oil,

  224. same thing with the hands, a place of contact, right.

  225. And God moves in power through that. He honors through

  226. faith what you and I are doing. If we're touching

  227. and agreeing on something right, all right.

  228. So if we.

  229. Look further back in Genesis, forty eight fourteen. It says,

  230. then Israel stretched out his right hand laid it on

  231. Ephraim's head, who was the younger, in his left hand

  232. on the on Manessa's head, guiding his hand knowingly, for

  233. Manessa was the firstborn.

  234. So Israel blesses Joseph through.

  235. The laying on of hands on his two sons, Ephraim

  236. and Vanessa. So he said, those will be my sons

  237. now right, and so he blesses him. Blessing can be

  238. a fourth telling. Blessing can be prophetically calling things that

  239. aren't as though they will be right, and having full

  240. faith in what you're doing, to bless.

  241. Someone through the hands through touch.

  242. In the New Testament, the laying on of him. The

  243. laying on of hands was commonly during the time of

  244. Jesus for healing any type of sickness or disease.

  245. Okay, Mark sixteen.

  246. Eighteen tells us that we will lay hands on the sick,

  247. they will recover. Okay, here's where the two combine, Mark

  248. six thirteen. Mark six thirteen says, and they cast out

  249. many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick,

  250. and healed them. Sometimes we like read things too fast,

  251. right but like you slow down and you take a

  252. look at how oil worked all the way from the

  253. beginning to the very.

  254. End and through the New Testament.

  255. Now, somebody might argue that that was Old Testament still

  256. because Jesus had him been crucified. However, we'll we'll go

  257. through that later. It's James five, okay, but I'll go

  258. I'll hit that one too.

  259. Let's see.

  260. I want to show you more examples of what the

  261. lane on the hands does.

  262. Though. Okay, is that good? Is that okay? All right?

  263. Because I want us to really get this.

  264. In Acts eight seventeen, it shows us that the apostles

  265. laid hands for the transference of power. It says in

  266. verse seventeen, they laid hands on them, and they received

  267. the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands. Watch

  268. this in Acts nine seventeen through eighteen. And Anonius went

  269. his way and entered the house, and laying his hands

  270. on him, he said, brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who

  271. appeared to you on the road as you came, has

  272. sent me to you that you may receive your sight

  273. and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately there fell

  274. from his eyes something like scales, and he received his

  275. sight at once, and he arose and was baptized Hallelujah right.

  276. Acts nineteen one through six.

  277. And it happened while Paulo's was at Corinth, that Paul,

  278. having passed through the upper regions, came to Emphesus, and

  279. finding some disciples, he said to them, did.

  280. You receive the Holy Spirit when you? So?

  281. They said to him, we have not so much as

  282. heard of whether the Holy whether there is a Holy Spirit.

  283. And he said to them, into what then were you baptized?

  284. So they said, into John's baptism. Then Paul said, John

  285. indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the

  286. people that they should believe on him who would come

  287. after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. Right when they

  288. heard this, they were baptized in the name of the

  289. Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them,

  290. the Holy Spirit came upon them and spoke with tongues

  291. and prophesied. In the New Testament we begin to see

  292. a deeper, a deeper how oil was used in unity

  293. with smearing on with the hands and the laying on

  294. the hands with power James five fourteen through fifteen is

  295. anyone among you sick, let him call for the elders

  296. of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing

  297. him with oil in the name of the Lord. And

  298. the prayer of faith will say the sick, and the

  299. Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sin,

  300. he will be forgiven. Here's another example of how to

  301. use the hands on Timothy four to fourteen. Do not

  302. neglect the gift that is in you, which was given

  303. to you by prophecy. With the laying on of hands

  304. of the eldership, there is a transference of Holy Spirit, gift, thing,

  305. and empowerment through the laying on of hands. Or roberts

  306. One said, I do not lay hands suddenly on anyone.

  307. He got that from Fir Timothy five twenty two. In

  308. context here it says, do not lay hands on anyone hastily,

  309. nor share in other people's sin, keeping yourself pure. In

  310. other words, we're not talking about ordination, right. I don't

  311. want I don't want us to get confused, because in context.

  312. That's about ordination.

  313. That's about laying your hands on somebody to transfer to

  314. them authority right in order that they may become a pastor, elder, leader,

  315. in the church right, and so don't be too hasty

  316. to do that. He said, what I do is I

  317. build expectation in them before I touched them. I'll show

  318. you an example of that, because I have to. I

  319. have to be able to understand what the man was saying. Right,

  320. And so I grabbed a portion of the Bible, and

  321. Acts three one through seven. It says now Peter and

  322. John went up together to the temple at the hour

  323. of prayer the ninth hour, and a certain man, laying

  324. from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily

  325. at the gate of the temple, which was called Beautiful,

  326. to ask alms from those who enter the temple, who

  327. seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple,

  328. ask for alms, and fixing his eyes on him with John,

  329. Peter said, look at us. So he gave them his attention,

  330. expecting to receive something from them.

  331. Then Peter said, silver and gold I do not have.

  332. But what I do have I give you in the

  333. name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth.

  334. Rise up and walk.

  335. And he took him by the right hand and lifted

  336. him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones.

  337. Received strength perfect timing. He got their attention right.

  338. He set an expectation, he executed and then got results.

  339. What all Roberts was saying was profound. He said, I

  340. don't pray for them when they come up for prayer.

  341. I have already prayed before I showed up.

  342. Today.

  343. We believe in the horizon the practice of the Word

  344. Acts sixty four. But we will give ourselves continually to

  345. prayer and to the ministry of the Word. I want

  346. to invite up the pastors and the elders.

  347. To please join me in the front.

  348. So there's a transference of power that happens from one

  349. to another today. Maybe the Lord was speaking to you

  350. during the during the day, maybe during the message he's

  351. been speaking to you. This is how we activate James

  352. five fourteen. This is how we activate that verse for

  353. Timothy by the prophecy and the laying on the hands

  354. of the elder.

  355. Shit.

  356. If you feel like the Lord is calling you up,

  357. he's encouraging you, and he's inviting you forward for healing,

  358. He's inviting you forward for gifts. Maybe he has a

  359. special word to give to you.

  360. I want us to put these.

  361. Things into practice here. I want to invite the worship

  362. team up to. We're not talking about ordination right now

  363. unless the Lord puts it on them or something like

  364. where it's like, oh, I feel like the Lord is

  365. telling me that you're this.

  366. You know, like, we're not talking about an ordination.

  367. We do special ordinations for all that kind of a thing,

  368. right but I wanted to give you examples of what

  369. it's applied to.

  370. It's very real.

  371. You are called a king and a priest unto the Lord.

  372. And so if you feel like the Lord is calling

  373. you up, let's just pray. Father, this is for me.

  374. Everybody across the room, just pray. Seek the Lord, Holy Spirit,

  375. Holy Spirit.

  376. Come. I thank you Lord that you're here in this place.

  377. I thank you God that you're a good father and

  378. you give good gifts to your children. I'll thank you

  379. that there's healing right now in this room. These pastors

  380. and elders. Lord, we've been fasting and praying and seeking

  381. your power, God and your presence. I thank you for

  382. your presence even right now.

  383. And Jesus.

  384. We've already prayed for you. The Lord may touch you

  385. when you come up here with power from on high.

  386. I want the ministry team to be ready, please, to

  387. assist the elders and the pastors and the leaders up here.

  388. And at this time, I want to ask you that

  389. if that's you, if that's you, you felt like the

  390. Lord is calling you to come forward and receive prayer.

  391. Maybe it's a baptism of the Holy Spirit. Maybe it's

  392. a fresh outpouring in your life. Maybe you've been feeling

  393. a little bit a drive. Maybe you need a marking

  394. moment in your life right now, this is the place

  395. for that. The Lord is here to mark you forever.

  396. I will share with you a testimony. And it happened

  397. right in here, in this very sanctuary. Here's a brother

  398. of ours came up and he received prayer from me

  399. and Pastor Roman right up here, and he said, my

  400. stomach's been bothering me for over two weeks.

  401. And I don't know what's wrong. And so we lay

  402. hands on him, we pray for him.

  403. He starts to feel a little ill, and so he

  404. runs to the restroom.

  405. Right he's there for a while.

  406. I didn't know nothing about it, but then his wife

  407. texts me, Hey, there's something.

  408. Going on with my husband. I don't know what is.

  409. Can you go check on him? Please? By the time

  410. I get up and move to the back.

  411. By the time I was notified and I moved to

  412. the back, he's already coming out.

  413. He's sitting in the very back. And this brother.

  414. He ends up. He ends up telling me, I feel

  415. like something's choking me. It's something's not coming out, something's

  416. not happening, something ain't whatever. You know, when we were praying,

  417. I felt something shift, but then I started to feel

  418. more pain in my neck. So I do what I

  419. know to do best. James five fourteen. I go and

  420. grab oil. I grab an elder. I bring him over

  421. to him. And he said, in the moment that the

  422. oil touched me, I felt a release over my neck.

  423. I felt freedom in my neck, in my throat, and

  424. I could breathe easier. For twenty four hours, he just

  425. kept he said, I kept burping and burping and burping for.

  426. Twenty four hours. That's a long time.

  427. And then he said, and then it finally broke the

  428. next day and I was set free and healed. My

  429. stomach instantly healed, and whatever it was that was attacking me.

  430. Broke off. So I want you to know the moment.
