  1. Yeah, let's pray over the Word. Father.

  2. We just ask you to minister to our hearts, Holy Spirit,

  3. Minister clarity, Minister of wisdom, minister through the Word. We

  4. we welcome not only your anointing in the Word, but

  5. we welcome, uh, you to just talk to us through

  6. the Word, to affirm, to confirm things that we haven't

  7. seen before, things we've never heard before. And not only

  8. through your servant, but through the atmosphere as you brood

  9. over us, Holy Spirit, we welcome you. We thank you

  10. for it in Jesus' name. And everybody said, Amen, I've

  11. got a memory. I've got you know, it's it's it's

  12. a reoccurring memory. And I don't I don't have it perfect.

  13. But my parents, you know, we're really big berry pickers.

  14. Ever heard of the bear picker?

  15. Uh?

  16. And uh you know, so whenever it was berry's season,

  17. they would take us somewhere, my brother and I and

  18. older brother four years older than me, still alive.

  19. Uh and uh.

  20. I had to say that we're getting up there, you know,

  21. so live live, but we would go berry pick them

  22. and my parents they were they were like like eccentric

  23. about this, like they were over the top about this

  24. like my They would make little buckets for us and

  25. cut slots in the bucket and then put a belt on.

  26. Us, and the belt would go through the bucket.

  27. Yeah, and so the belt would go through the bucket,

  28. and so you know, essentially all you had to do

  29. was kind of you know, pull the berries and then

  30. get them into the bucket somehow. And of course, you know,

  31. as as young people, my brother and I we would

  32. probably eat more of the berries than we picked, you know,

  33. so it was hard to stay up with the very

  34. picking because the eating was so good. So this would

  35. be you know, every kind of berry, but the most

  36. dangerous berry was the BlackBerry, because you know, and I'm

  37. sure that I whimpered, and you know, who knows what

  38. else I did, you know, because I was I was

  39. the son they didn't know where he came from, and

  40. so because they were sure that I wasn't exactly like them,

  41. so you know, I would probably whimper and holler and

  42. cry and beller. And that was in between throwing berries

  43. at my brother, you know, over those thorns, those blasted thorns,

  44. you know I'm talking about, you know, all the prickly

  45. stuff on the blackberries. Anybody ever picked a BlackBerry. You're

  46. all looking at me like you've never picked a BlackBerry?

  47. Have you ever?

  48. Like come away with your hands all cut up? I

  49. mean your hands are are bleeding from the blackberries, right,

  50. and you know, no, little bitty guy, you know, what's

  51. that kind of a thing. But and the and the

  52. weird you know, the weird thing. The bummer about blackberries

  53. is that the best ones are always a little bit

  54. beyond reach, like some some thief got there before you

  55. and picked all the good ones that were just right

  56. there right.

  57. And now the.

  58. Best ones, you know, the more lush, the more plump,

  59. they're out there just far enough you.

  60. Get to really get cut up really good, you know

  61. what I'm talking about.

  62. And so you get to reach over like so many

  63. thorns and thistles, and you got to reach over all

  64. this stuff to get into the good berries. Praise the

  65. Lord for grocery stores. Praise the Lord for grocery stores.

  66. You know, we went to we went to Blueberry Hill

  67. and Shelane this last summer. So the whole family went

  68. over and did a trip and we went to Blueberry

  69. Hill and I saw the most amazing thing ever at

  70. Blueberry Hill is Shellanne. They've got these rows of blueberry bushes. Right,

  71. They've got a machine that looks like a big upside

  72. down horseshoe, and it's got four wheels and it drives

  73. and it picks the berries. Can you imagine such a blessing?

  74. I want you to I want you to focus for

  75. a minute. I want you to focus for on that

  76. crown of thorns up there, because as I'm talking about thorns,

  77. I want to draw your attention to what was on

  78. the head of Jesus while he was crucified. Genesis chapter three,

  79. I think it's seventeen. It says that of the curse,

  80. you know, of the curse. It says that thorns and

  81. thistles came in with the curse. There's a lot of

  82. stuff that came in with the curse, a lot of

  83. stuff that there's no you know.

  84. It's just like it's up in our face all the time.

  85. And if you weren't fighting the curse, the curse is

  86. fighting you.

  87. You know what I'm talking about.

  88. And the real truth is that we're fighting the curse

  89. every day. We're up against the curse every day because

  90. the curses up against us. And I'm not talking about curses.

  91. I'm not talking about witchcraft today, I'm talking about the

  92. curse that is upon the earth. Through the fall of Adam,

  93. everything was lost. It wasn't just eternal life that was lost. Yes,

  94. they could no longer go into the Tree of Life.

  95. There was a cherubim stationed at the eastern side of Paradise,

  96. the garden, so they couldn't get in. They were they

  97. were kicked out right, They were kicked out through their

  98. obedience to the demonic realm. When when when Adam obeyed,

  99. So if he's Romans six sixteen says to whoever you obey.

  100. To that one, you become a slave.

  101. And when Adam obeyed Lucifer Satan, this one in the garden,

  102. it empowered him. That's how he became the prince in

  103. the power of the air. You know who the Prince

  104. of the power of the air was. Prince just means

  105. first one, it means in charge.

  106. You know who that was? It was Adam.

  107. Later, when the Bible says that Satan is that, it's

  108. because he usurped that from Adam through the fall. And

  109. it wasn't. It wasn't just the Tree of life. He

  110. could no longer go in and partake it. The tree

  111. of life. It wasn't just life, eternal life that was lost.

  112. The whole earth shifted immediately, and overnight, the entire earth shifted,

  113. and suddenly there were thorns and thistles. Suddenly there were

  114. thorns and thistles. Suddenly there were weeds. Suddenly there was

  115. sickness and disease. As soon as death came in, as

  116. soon as death came in, as soon as they could

  117. no longer eat of that tree of life, and they

  118. were unrighteous to do their obedience to Satan. And as

  119. soon as that happened, sickness and disease came in. Suddenly

  120. they were up against sickness and disease, And sickness and

  121. disease was up against them. The curse was empowered, and

  122. the curse flourished, and the curse, and with it came.

  123. You know, we could name all the things we fight,

  124. but it's corruption, right, It's it's it's corruption in every way.

  125. It's poverty.

  126. Poverty came in, condemnation came in, Inferiority came in, Hatred

  127. came in, violence came in, murder came in, rage came in.

  128. We know all of the things that pertained to our

  129. humanity and to our relationship one another. Competition came in,

  130. Animosity came in, Separation came in. We were meant to

  131. compliment one another, not compete, but compliment. We were meant

  132. to build up one another and complete. We were meant

  133. to complete one another. That's why even racially today, every nation,

  134. that's because we complete one another. We don't compete with

  135. one another. We complete one another. So all of this

  136. came in with the fall. But here's what I want

  137. you to see. I want you to see that as sweeping,

  138. as broad, as deep, because it wasn't just the impact

  139. of you and I and our relationships and our own

  140. internal man and then our relationships one with another that

  141. was affected through the fall. I want you to see

  142. the entire earth was affected. The spirit realm was affected.

  143. Everything that we everything that we breathe, everything that we need,

  144. everything around us, everything experienced the fall. Roman Day twenty

  145. says that the entire earth was subject to futility. The

  146. entire earth was subject to flutility. Verse twenty two says

  147. that Verse twenty two of Roman Day says that the creation.

  148. Since then, the creation has been groaning, groaning like a

  149. mother in with birth. Thanks with groaning desiring, longing to

  150. be delivered, redeemed, out of the curse, out of this futility,

  151. out of this loss, out of this this uncleanness that

  152. the earth was made subject to. So this is this

  153. is a reality. We're up against it. It's up against us.

  154. And what I want you to see today, I want

  155. you to see something today is that Jesus came. Jesus

  156. came to completely reverse the curse. Now, when we get

  157. together a weekend like this, we get together, this was

  158. this was Passion week for the Church, for the for

  159. the Body of Christ, for all Christians globally worldwide. This

  160. is passion week. When we get together on a week

  161. like this, and we did Friday night for a good Friday.

  162. And yes, it's called good Friday because there was Sunday.

  163. If there wouldn't have been a resurrection Sunday, it wouldn't

  164. have been a good Friday. It would have been a

  165. terrible Friday. But because Sunday came, it's a good Friday.

  166. That's why we call it good Friday. When we get

  167. together for a weekend like this, though, our minds go

  168. to the Cross and they go to mainly in Christendom,

  169. our minds go to forgiveness, and that's a beautiful thing.

  170. Our minds go to forgiveness of sin. That's a beautiful thing.

  171. And then Sunday comes and we're here Easter morning, and

  172. we're here to celebrate the resurrections to our minds go

  173. to eternal life, and our minds go to because we're

  174. now partakers of the Tree of life again. Right, so

  175. that's been opened up to us again. So our minds

  176. go to eternal life and our home with heaven. We

  177. have an assurance salvation. Believing in the Lord and believing

  178. upon the Lord, Jesus Christ gives us this assurance that

  179. we know where we're headed. Right, So that's a beautiful thing.

  180. We want that solved, we want that settled. That's a

  181. big thing. But sometimes what happens is we skip. Sometimes

  182. we skip, sometimes we miss. Sometimes we overlook in Christianity

  183. that this is much more that. If that's all there was,

  184. if that's all there was, those two elements, we could

  185. be potentially content. I don't know, so many of us

  186. maybe are content with that. But God isn't. God isn't

  187. The scope of the redemption of Jesus is as big

  188. as the scope of the fall this single thing that

  189. the Fall touched. Jesus came to restore every single element,

  190. every single thing, every single issue. I mean, it gets

  191. so vast that when you get over to Isaiah sixty five,

  192. we're not gonna read it this morning. You know, if

  193. you've been here, it's my favorite. It's one of my

  194. favorite passages. Isaiah sixty five, seventeen through twenty three. Write

  195. it down, read it later. But you'll see that as

  196. restoration goes, the restoration gets so vast that even the

  197. violence between the animals receives the shaloma the Lord, and

  198. everything is shifted as God's redeeming the planet. This is

  199. before the Second Coming, before the Second Coming. The shift

  200. is so vast that the violence between the nations is

  201. no more, the violence between the animals no more.

  202. That peace is.

  203. Flooding the earth, and the knowledge of the glory of

  204. the Lord fills the earth like the waters cover the sea.

  205. So does the peace of God. So does the peace

  206. of God. So God is working out this restoration, and

  207. this restoration is removing and overcoming the curse and pouring

  208. out a blessing that exceeds the power or the influence

  209. of the curse. The blessing of God, the blessing of

  210. God in Christ exceeds the power of the curse, the

  211. influence of the curse. Let me read this to you.

  212. You gotta hear this one. This is Romans five seventeen.

  213. Romans five seventeen. I think we can go to it.

  214. For if by the trespass of the one man, death

  215. reigned through that one man. And this literally, this is

  216. literally death touching everything, right, This is death touching everything.

  217. Death reigned, Death reigned, Death was reigning. Death reigned through

  218. that one man. He's talking about first atom. Through the

  219. trespass of that first atom, Death reigned through that one man.

  220. How much more will.

  221. Those who receive God's abundant provision of grace. I love

  222. what Pastor Dennis was doing this morning. He was kind

  223. of getting this worked up a little bit, right, Were

  224. you worked up? Were you unhappy? Because he was reading

  225. John ten ten And you'll notice Jesus said that.

  226. I came to give you life.

  227. He was giving it to us oudam an expanded translation,

  228. really helping us. But Jesus said I came to give

  229. you life and life more abundantly. Now you notice he

  230. didn't say I've come to give you religion and religion

  231. more abundantly. And we know we know the Lord. We

  232. know that, we know that we know the Lord. But

  233. what happens is, sometimes in Christianity we missed the life part.

  234. We aren't supposed to believe for a good life. Now,

  235. your good life, that's coming after the Second Coming, that's

  236. coming after you depart, that's coming after Heaven, that's coming after.

  237. Whatever the end is for you.

  238. That's what we Sometimes we frame it that way in Christianity.

  239. But when we do so, we miss that he's dealt

  240. with the curse. We miss that that crown of thorns

  241. on his head went all the way back to Genesis

  242. three seventeen and eighteen, that the curse came in, and

  243. by the curse came thorns and thistles, and he wore

  244. that crown on purpose to symbolize the destruction of the curse,

  245. the overcoming of the curse, the complete removal of the curse.

  246. So here he's calling this grace that we've received, and

  247. the grace that we've received we know from Ephesians two

  248. six through eight even that the grace flows by faith.

  249. It's not of our works, lest any of us could

  250. boast The grace we receive is the outpour of God's favor.

  251. It is not by works lest any of us could boast.

  252. It is the outpouring of God's favor shown us in Christ,

  253. Jesus demonstrated through the sacrifice of the Sun on our behalf,

  254. and we partake of it by faith. So this grace,

  255. God's favor, God's kindness, God's outpouring. It's the power to

  256. walk in his divine will. It's the power to walk

  257. with him. It's the power to enter into communion. That

  258. grace is abundant. It's an abundant grace. I want to

  259. go back to Romans five seventeen.

  260. How much were.

  261. Will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and

  262. the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one

  263. man Christ, Jesus.

  264. Reign in life? Does he hear that?

  265. Hey, listen, if you're here for baptism, I'm gonna dismiss

  266. you right now. We've got a bunch of these seventeen

  267. getting baptized at the end of our server. So go

  268. ahead and get ready and then come back into the auditorium. Halleluja.

  269. Give them another hand as they go I'm gonna go

  270. back to that. It's it's worth going back to because

  271. here I I want you to hear this. Those who

  272. receive the abundance of grace, what how, what is the

  273. quantity of the grace? Abundance of grace will rain in life? Wow,

  274. now this is interesting. He didn't say they will rain

  275. in church. He didn't say they were rain in the sanctuary.

  276. He didn't say they'll reign in the synagogue. He didn't

  277. say they'll reign in religion. He didn't say they'll reign

  278. in religious traditions. He didn't say they'll reign in the

  279. sacrificial system. He didn't say they'll reign in ministry. Now,

  280. all of that could be true. All of that could

  281. be true as well, because I'm going to read two

  282. Peter chapter one to you in a moment.

  283. That's all true.

  284. But God is trying to get something across through the

  285. writer that sometimes we miss. Sometimes we miss what God

  286. is trying to communicate through the writer or the writing.

  287. Because what really what we we're gonna leave here today?

  288. We came to the house, we are believers in Jesus.

  289. We got lint on our shirt. I'm dropping plastic wrappers

  290. out of my pocket. You didn't see it because you

  291. had your eyes closed praying over the sermon.

  292. Oh you did see. You were cheety, so you know

  293. it might have been a muffin. I don't know, but

  294. you know, here we are, we're trying.

  295. We're gonna leave here and we're gonna be back up

  296. against the curse and the curses up against us. And

  297. so that's life. That's life. That's life. That's life. We're

  298. gonna leave here and engage in life again. But he said,

  299. we're gonna reign in life. This is important because if

  300. we don't wrap our hearts around this, if we don't

  301. wrap our mind and our hearts and our thinking and

  302. our thoughts around this, we can't wrap our faith around it.

  303. If we don't wrap our faith around it, we can't

  304. partake of it. You can't partake of what you don't

  305. wrap your faith around because because if you can't wrap

  306. your heart and your mind around what, he's literally overtaking

  307. you with wow.

  308. Grace, the grace poured out.

  309. Upon you in Jesus is not something you need to

  310. beg God for petition, God for Jesus.

  311. He tells us.

  312. We can't earn it, and we don't deserve it. It's

  313. more like the blessing of Deuteronomy chapter twenty eight and

  314. Deuteronomy chapter twenty eight. It says, all these blessings will

  315. overtake you.

  316. There. He's in there.

  317. So many times, our thinking, our Christian thinking, our background,

  318. our theology, what we've been trained or taught or heard

  319. it positions us as a beggar. We're still a beggar.

  320. We're still a beggar. We still don't deserve anything, and

  321. we're still a beggar. And so we have to petition

  322. and petition and petition, and maybe after a long period

  323. of petitioning you, we might get God's favor. We might

  324. earn an answer from God. We might get a breakthrough

  325. from God. We might deserve something before God. We really,

  326. we need to say, subdue ourselves, and we need to

  327. get really calm, We need to get pious, we need

  328. to get very, We need to get and we need

  329. to earn this thing we need to And an earning

  330. can get woven into our thinking subconsciously, and we don't

  331. even realize it. And so even when we wake in

  332. the morning, we don't wake with expectancy.

  333. We wake wondering what we have to do.

  334. First in order to get God's favor, God's word, God's help,

  335. God's insight, God's wisdom.

  336. But that isn't the way this operates. That isn't.

  337. This is called the gospel, and the gospel means good

  338. news and the good news of God's grace that's accessed

  339. by your faith.

  340. The good news of this is that when you believe,

  341. when you just believe.

  342. Before you've said one prayer, before you've earned anything, before

  343. you've served anybody, before you've even got the second eye

  344. lid open, it's already pull is already there, wanting to

  345. overtake you with answers for today, with insight for today,

  346. with blessings for today, so that the blessing on you

  347. will cause you to.

  348. Reign in life.

  349. And it'll be greater than the curse Jesus. It's greater

  350. than the curse tewod Peter, Chapter one, verse two. Grace

  351. and peace be multiplied to you. Grace and peace, oh, oh,

  352. even more be multiplied to you in the knowledge of

  353. God and of Jesus our Lord, seeing that his divine

  354. power has granted to us everything, how many things, everything

  355. pertaining to life and godliness pertaining to life, Why did

  356. he put that in there? Why didn't he just stick

  357. with the spiritual stuff. Why didn't he say everything pertaining

  358. that godliness? Why did he have to throw.

  359. In that life stuff? Because this is God's kindness.

  360. This is God's favor, this is God's love, This is

  361. God in Christ, completely redeeming us holy, reversing the curse,

  362. reversing the curse, this is God. God desires to fully

  363. reverse the curse. I want to read to you out

  364. of Romans chapter eight, if I can find it, Romans

  365. chapter verse twenty. This is one I kind of alluded

  366. to before, but it's worth reading again for the creation

  367. with subjected to futility, not willingly, because of Him who

  368. subjected it.

  369. In hope, in what? In what?

  370. In hope, God saw the redemption from the moment that

  371. he cursed the earth because of our all, because of

  372. our separation, because of our disobedience, because of Adam's allegiance

  373. to Satan, which loosed all of this on the earth.

  374. God saw at that moment he saw something hope sees.

  375. Hope is the power of imagination to see something good.

  376. God saw redemption, He saw the earth restored, He saw

  377. the cursory verse. He saw the working of the sun

  378. at that very moment. He subjected it in hope because

  379. the creation itself will also be delivered from the bondage

  380. of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Now,

  381. I want to submit this to you. I want to

  382. submit that this is not this is not an instantaneous

  383. thing that happens. This is something that's being worked out

  384. right now. This is being worked out right now. God

  385. is actually restoring the earth right now. God is because

  386. he's restoring the sons and daughters of God. And this

  387. says that even as we've received liberty, the glorious liberty

  388. of the children, even as we've received liberty, we are

  389. the ones who lead the way for the curse to

  390. be reversed in the earth. We're the ones who lead

  391. the way for the earth to be restored. We're leading

  392. the way. So I want you to think about that

  393. cross for a moment. Think about that cross for a moment,

  394. and the reversing of the curse. The crown of thorns

  395. represented the curse on the earth. He's taken it on.

  396. The males represented the victory of his perfection over sin

  397. and Satan. The nails represented his victory, the victory of

  398. His perfection, his perfection offered in our place. Colossians chapter

  399. two says that every nail, every hammer blow on those nails,

  400. was actually God nailing the judgment of Satan against us,

  401. because we fall short to the cross, so that He

  402. could defeat them on our behalf. Listen to Colossians too.

  403. When you were dead in your sins and in the

  404. uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ.

  405. He forgave us all of our sins. Having canceled the

  406. charge of legal indebtedness which stood against us and condemned us,

  407. He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

  408. Every accusation against us has been nailed.

  409. To the cross.

  410. Every failure, every sin, every falling short of the Torah,

  411. every aspect of it six hundred and thirteen laws or

  412. the Decalogue, the Ten Commandments, every aspect of falling short

  413. was nailed to the cross his perfection on our behalf,

  414. that we could enter into liberty and freedom and a

  415. relationship with God. Triumphing over powers and authorities. They were disarmed,

  416. they were disarmed, they were disarmed, and He triumphed over

  417. powers and authorities on our behalf. Then First Peter two

  418. twenty four says, then he bore our sins in his

  419. body on the cross, so that we might die to

  420. sins and live for righteousness. For by his wounds the

  421. Greek there the word is welts by his wounds. By

  422. his welts thirty nine stripes, thirty nine stripes, by his wounds,

  423. you have been healed, or you were healed. Some people say, well,

  424. we don't know if healing is really in the Bible.

  425. Why do you take medicine. You're trying to contradict God's will.

  426. Why do you long to be whole? Why do you

  427. long to be well? Why do you pray to be healed?

  428. Why do you want to be healed? Why do you

  429. believe to be healed? Because God's woven health in your nature.

  430. God's woven health in your nature. He wove the desire

  431. for health in your nature. And then he defeated sickness

  432. and disease in Jesus on the cross. So you have

  433. to know that the scope of redemption was as vast,

  434. it was as big as the fall, and as sure

  435. as sickness and disease came in which Jesus health and

  436. healing has come in. God is for you. God is

  437. for you. God is for you. God is for you.

  438. You have to understand it's not just divine healing. It's

  439. not just divine healing. It's the wisdom for health. It's

  440. the wisdom for health. God God desires for you to

  441. be whole, and the blessing of God will enable you

  442. to overcome the curse.

  443. Would you stand with me this morning? I want to close.

  444. By inviting you, and we're we're only transitioning, so don't

  445. run away. This is a very early sermon close right.

  446. All of you that know me know that I talked forever,

  447. so this is an early sermon close. But I want

  448. to invite you to pray with me this morning, and

  449. then we're going to transition to Pastor Joel and Pastor

  450. Dennis and into the baptisms. It's a shorter message on

  451. purpose so that we've got time to fit all this

  452. in before we all run away.

  453. But here's what I want you to say.

  454. I want you to get this is that I want

  455. you to leave something here today. I want you to

  456. leave if you could drop it, drop it on the

  457. floor where you're at. I'm not going to have you

  458. run to the altar. But I want you to leave something.

  459. We'll vacuum it up later. I want you to leave

  460. unworthiness here today. I want you to leave the beggar

  461. attitude here today. I want you to leave that you

  462. always have to earn something. I want you to leave

  463. that petitionary, that petitionary compulsion that you have. I got

  464. a petition for thirty minutes or an hour or two,

  465. and I didn't do that. So I'm not gonna get

  466. a breakthrough. God's not gonna help me. I need to

  467. overcome some of this curse. I need to overcome. Life

  468. is up against me. I'm up against life. What in

  469. the world am I gonna do? How am I gonna

  470. earn my way into that? I want you to leave that.

  471. We'll vacuum it up later. We'll vacuum We got big

  472. unworthy vacuums. I just sucked that stuff up. I want

  473. you to leave that here today. Because God is for

  474. you and not against you. And God is showering you

  475. with grace today, and you've entered into Him as you've

  476. entered into Jesus. You've entered into abundant grace, abundant grace.

  477. And he wants you to be a receiver.

  478. He's saying, would you be a better receiver, become a

  479. become a very unprofessional beggar. Don't get so good at petition.

  480. I'm playing with him teething, but listen, listen, but become

  481. a professional receiver. Let's do it right now, Let's do

  482. it together, Holy Spirit. I receive goodness today. I receive

  483. your love. Today. I receive the overcoming grace of God

  484. I received. Come on and say with me today, I

  485. receive the abundant grace given to me in Christ Jesus.

  486. I don't want to turn back. I don't want to

  487. turn back. You've made me a qualified son and daughter,

  488. a qualified child before you, and I give you the

  489. praise for it in Jesus name. And everybody said
