-
Yeah, my parents, they had twins, had a kid and
-
then another set of twins. And then whatever got into
-
their mind, they had five more after that. And I
-
happen to be number 10. I'm not complaining. I'm very happy. Big, beautiful,
-
wonder family. And today's topic is near and dear to
-
my heart because we're jumping into what Pastor Dwayne already prefaced.
-
It's a controversy type of deal thing, but it shouldn't be.
-
And we're reiterating kingdom values, kingdom mindsets, kingdom agendas, per se.
-
And our goal this morning is that we're going to
-
talk about what the kingdom is all about. And we're
-
going to try to dismantle the weapons that the enemy
-
has positioned against us that's crept into the bride of
-
Christ and to our mentality and deceived us on certain levels.
-
You guys ready? So I will say beforehand, I apologize.
-
I'm very sorry. In my heart, I have no intention
-
to offend, to hurt or harm nobody in this room,
-
nobody watching online. I don't want to shame anybody's experience
-
of what you've been through, what you've done, or the
-
mentality maybe that you've had until this point. My biggest
-
goal and desire is to take you higher into a
-
place that might be better for us as the kingdom
-
of God. Okay. So please forgive me in advance, but
-
more than anything, keep your heart open. Okay. Cause my,
-
my goal this morning is to tell you kids are okay.
-
It's okay to have kids. I'm going to talk about
-
some things that are, that are going to be harmful
-
because of the way we grew up, but they shouldn't
-
be harmful to us. Okay, cool. So y'all forgive me
-
in ahead of time. Cool. So the topic that I
-
chose when the list of topics came up, this one
-
was near and dear to my heart just because my
-
wife and I couldn't have kids for a while. We
-
actually were married for almost 10 years before we had
-
a kid. And for five of those years, they were really,
-
really hard. just because we tried really hard to have
-
a child, and we believe, we pray, we did everything
-
we could to have a kid, and we couldn't, and
-
many of you joined us on that journey to pray
-
and believe with us, and I want to thank you
-
for that, and through the power of communion with pastors,
-
they slipped out, but Joe and Sandy, they sat down
-
with us. We had communion, and That was a breakthrough
-
moment for us. And shortly after that, literally two weeks
-
after that, my wife conceived. And praise the Lord for that.
-
It's been almost three years since that moment. But through
-
that power, we were able to have a child. And
-
we're going to have many more in Jesus' name. Ten
-
is nothing. We got this. Amen. So this topic is
-
near and dear to my heart. So when it came
-
up in our list of topics, I knew I had
-
to talk about this. And it's such an honor to
-
talk about it today. Because I believe it's on the
-
father's heart. His children. Okay. And so I titled this,
-
no kids, no future. Can you say that with me?
-
No kids, no future. One more time. No kids, no future.
-
Very blunt, very direct, very simple, very truthful. Okay. So
-
I decided to take the liberty to do a dive
-
into recent studies performed by big organizations that do studies.
-
I'm going to get into some of those. But as
-
I was going into the studies, I was a bit troubled.
-
And it made me really tear up. And so this morning,
-
I'm going to bring some of these to you. And
-
I'm also going to bring the scripture to you as
-
well to help us understand why the current tread in
-
trend in society is demonic. Okay. So right now there's
-
something that's called a replacement fertility rate, replacement fertility rate.
-
We need every female to give birth to at least
-
two to just reproduce what we have right now. It's
-
actually 2.1 because you got to account for the mishaps
-
and certain situations that happen early on. So Every female
-
needs to do at least two. And this is males too.
-
You got to understand it takes two anyway. So right now,
-
since about 2007, we hit a moment in the US
-
history where it was above two and we tanked right
-
underneath two. 2007. We hit like a 1.9 something. Okay.
-
And since 2007, we've been gradually declining in our efforts
-
in society To reproduce. 1.9, 1.8, 1.9, 1.7, 1.8. Now
-
we're at 1.59. 1.59. Right now, between the ages of
-
25 and 30, two-thirds of the females don't have a
-
child in the prime of their fertility and don't want it.
-
They're choosing to not have kids. You know, some of
-
us might say, what are they doing? This is not
-
a direct reflection of females only. Maybe it's the men
-
that don't know that they're men. The females have nothing
-
to depend on. This isn't just a directional word and
-
singling somebody out. This is a society that we're living in. Okay,
-
and so thankfully here in the church and here at
-
New Horizons, We're not of this mindset, but we don't
-
also engage in society to change the culture and transform.
-
So I'm coming with you at 100% passion this morning, okay?
-
And my goal is that the fire that I have
-
would light you up and that you would go back
-
into your society and contend for the future and contend
-
and believe for something greater than yourself, okay? And so
-
right now at a 1.59 ratio, You know, that's not
-
like every mom has to have two kids. It could
-
be one mom has one kid, but the other has three.
-
Or one mom has 10, and then she gives a
-
freebie to like four moms. You know what I'm saying?
-
But generally, if we're going on average, everyone needs to
-
have at least two just to replenish. But if we
-
want to expand and grow, we need to be like
-
at a three. You know what I'm saying? If you're
-
at a four, hallelujah. Bless your life. And if you
-
got more, amen. All the better. But at the end
-
of the day, we as a society are rejecting the
-
idea of replacing or replenishing or multiplying or doing our
-
due diligence as humanity. And so right now, the craziest
-
thing is that people in the secular world are studying
-
what is going on. What is this phenomena? What is
-
going on? And they've put a name to this thing.
-
It's called the baby bust situation. Baby bust. Now you
-
and I, knowing that God is all about reproduction, we
-
understand that this mindset of being a baby bust mentality
-
falls into the realm of demonic influence. And so we
-
can call it this morning as it is the baby
-
bust demon. And it's our responsibility as heaven's answer on
-
this earth to cast it out. First and foremost, out
-
of our own mentality, and then out of everybody we encounter.
-
You guys ready? Let's go right into Genesis chapter 1,
-
verse 27. When we are dealing with culture, we have
-
to understand the basis and the foundation that we stand
-
on is not feelings. It's not opinions. It's his word
-
and his scripture. And in Genesis chapter 1, the scriptures
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
talk about on the sixth day, God created male and
-
female in his image. So it says, verse 27, so
-
God created human beings in his own image. And in
-
the image of God, he created them, male and female,
-
he created them. Watch this next verse. Then God blessed
-
them and said, blessed. Say it with me. Be fruitful
-
and multiply. You know what that's called? The baby boom blessing.
-
Say it with me. Baby boom blessing. So God has
-
given us a command. By the way, this is not
-
a suggestion. This is actually written in the fabric of
-
our DNA. to replenish, to repopulate, to advance and grow
-
and build and do this thing out there. There's a
-
Pew Research Center that did the study where they asked
-
adults that are 50 and under who do not have children,
-
They asked them a simple question. Why no kids? Why
-
no kids? Do you want to hear the results? 57% said,
-
I just don't want kids. Like, that was the first
-
response out of 57 people. 57% of the people. First
-
initial honest response. I don't want kids. Do you understand
-
that this kind of mentality doesn't just happen? This is
-
a cultural shift over a period of time. I just
-
don't want kids. 47, 44% said they want to focus
-
on other things like career, hobbies, personal interests. And so
-
what they did is the same group of people, after
-
they responded, they asked, okay, you have no kids. You
-
wanted to have more personal time. You just didn't want kids.
-
So how has your life been easier today? Because I
-
feel like that question really gets into the real reasoning
-
of why you're not having kids, right? So how has
-
it been easier? And 90% of these people, or excuse me,
-
80% of these people said they have more time for themselves. 79%.
-
So life is cheaper. They can afford to do more
-
things they want to do. I want to present something
-
to you this morning, and it's sobering. That this response,
-
the attitude, the heart of that.
-
Response, it's an anti-Christ response. It's an anti-Christ response.
-
It's an anti-kingdom response. It's an attitude that rejects Christ.
-
And I know in this church here, we don't have,
-
we're not dealing with that much, but out there we are.
-
You got to worry about you. You first take care
-
of you. It's this attitude of selfishness. and we sacrifice
-
the future on the altar of the God of self.
-
We've made idols unto ourselves of ourselves. Think about it.
-
Even in the subconscious, we're always thinking, how can we
-
better our lives? What can we do better to grow?
-
What can we do better to grow what we have
-
and increase and And, oh, they're affecting me, so I can't.
-
They're blocked out. Block. Don't bother me. I'm going over here.
-
Over here. Somebody affected me.
-
Nope.
-
That's nope. I'm going to worry about myself. All about me.
-
This attitude, it's anti-Christ. I want to bring something up.
-
In Luke chapter 9, the disciples were arguing with the
Luke 9 chapter mention
-
same vibe, same attitude. Talking about who's the greatest among them. Selfish.
-
Same attitude. Same spirit. Talking about who among them is
-
the greatest? Who among them has maybe great achievements? Self-promotion.
-
Sacrificing each other on their own titles. His disciples began
-
to argue about which of them was the greatest. But
-
Jesus knew their thoughts, so he brought a little child. Huh.
-
A little child to himself. I want you to catch
-
this next part. Then he said to them, anyone who
-
welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me.
-
Anyone who welcomes a little one welcomes Christ. It's interesting
-
how society is rejecting the little ones. I just don't
-
want them. I just don't like them. They're an inconvenience
-
to my time. They're an inconvenience to my future, to
-
my money, to my interests, to my hobbies. But Jesus
-
welcomes them in. Another part of the scripture says that
-
their angels are in the very presence of God, the
-
little ones. They welcome me and they also welcome my
-
father who sent me. This is very important. Whoever is
-
the least among you is the greatest. So he takes
-
a child, puts a child in his lap. And he's saying,
-
the least among you is the greatest. He is showing
-
us the body of Christ. He was showing us the
-
attitude of Christ to be the least. How many of
-
us know that Jesus didn't come to be served? He
-
came to serve. How many of us know that on
-
the day he was betrayed, on that evening, on the
-
last supper, he got on his knee and began to
-
wash the disciples' feet? It wasn't about humility. It was
-
about a lifestyle that we ought to carry. That's why
-
he said, you must do what I do. He said
-
to us, you must take my example for if you
-
do not take this posture of serving one another and
-
not caring about your own interest but the interest of
-
your neighbor and the future generation, you have no part
-
with me. The result of an antichrist mentality has two
-
devastating results. The first one is abortion. It's real. They
-
interfere with my future, so Done. In 2022, Roe v.
-
Wade was overturned. And a lot of us in the
-
church were like, praise the Lord. Righteousness wins. It was delegalized,
-
de-enforced legalized over all the states, but still give them
-
the opportunity to do whatever they want per state. So
-
some states banned it, some didn't. But you know what
-
lifted up? Telehealth. You know, right now, 29% of abortions
-
happen via telehealth. Take a pill, boom. You could be
-
in a state that banned it and call a doctor
-
in New York, say, what's up? They'll ship it to
-
you and New York laws protect their own doctors. How
-
many of us know that changing legislation is good and godly,
-
but it does not change a heart? This is a
-
cultural mind that you and I have been given by
-
God to go into the culture and say no. No.
-
Your child matters to the heavenly father, to your future,
-
to me. I will walk this journey. I will adopt.
-
I will do what it needs to happen. But it
-
takes us, the bride of Christ, to stand up in
-
our rightful place and say no more. We're going to
-
fight for our future. We're going to fight for the
-
kingdom of heaven on this earth. Since 2020, there's been
-
a 21% increase in abortions. Roe v. Wade didn't do
-
nothing for that. I'm not saying it wasn't beneficial. We
-
should vote all the more. But I'm saying this is
-
a heart issue. This is an issue that you and
-
I are tasked. We can't do it from here. We're
-
only talking to you. You're the ones. You're the hands
-
and feet. You're the mouth of God on this earth.
-
We're here just to stir each other up, encourage one
-
another to go do the works. to go speak the words,
-
to go encourage change, transform the culture and society. One
-
in four current pregnancies result in abortions. Two thirds of
-
these abortions are happening to females in their 20s. I
-
want you to think about this. It's not underage. Like
-
2% is 17 or younger. We're talking about in the
-
prime The society has engraved into our minds that kids
-
are a hindrance. Kids are a burden. Kids are wrong
-
for what we have in our future. It's quite the opposite.
-
In Exodus, we find that kids were murdered when Moses
-
was born. The time of Moses, they took all the males,
-
threw them in the Nile, killed them all, killed them all.
-
It's all on the altar of selfishness. Pharaoh, oh my God,
-
these Hebrews are going to overtake us and turn on us,
-
kill them all, kill all the boys. The time of Jesus,
-
we also find the same thing. Herod sent his soldiers
-
to kill every boy two and under. Why? Because King Jesus,
-
the light that has come, threatens selfish agendas. That was
-
a physical manifestation. That was in the seen realm. Right
-
now it's happening in the spiritual. It's happening in the unseen.
-
It's happening by a pill. How many of us know
-
that because kids are written in the fabric of who
-
we are as people... When you don't have kids and
-
when you become a society that doesn't have kids, it
-
leaves a void in your heart. It leaves something that
-
you we're just called to love on something. We want
-
to love something. We want to go make babies without
-
having babies. You'll get it tomorrow. But we've become a
-
society that's all about self and how we feel. And unfortunately,
-
it has led us down this path with the second
-
atrocity almost to say, I'm only talking about statistics right now.
-
With this void in our heart, it needs to be filled.
-
We understand that, right? And so it led us to
-
this number two violation. It's adoption and not the way
-
you're thinking. I want you to hear me good because
-
I'm not pointing anybody out. The abortion of kids and
-
the adoption of pets. Please. I understand that it's like
-
70 to 80% of households have pets. There was a
-
study done with our society with the intention of not
-
having kids to have pets. And they asked them, why
-
don't you have a kid? You want to hear some
-
of the results? 70% say a pet substitutes a child.
-
You know that there's twice as many pets, pet homes,
-
as there is kid homes? There's about 160 million homes
-
in the U.S. with pets. You want to hear how
-
many kid homes? Under 18. So this is a long list. Long,
-
long term of time. We got 73 million kid homes
-
right now. 163 million pet homes and 73 million kid homes.
-
In 2002, it was about 50-50. We're still growing. We're
-
still good. 2007, these numbers went bad the other way.
-
We have right now, we're at a 70% pet home
-
ratio to a 40% kid home ratio. It's pretty drastic.
-
It's pretty heavy. So they asked these same people, why
-
no kids? They said to substitute a child. 69% said
-
a pet is easier than a child. How do they know?
-
I don't know. Do you know how many doggy daycares
-
there are? How much money it is? 48% have said
-
it's cheaper. The other 50 are realistic. They understand pets
-
are expensive. 51% of these individuals who do not, who
-
choose to not have a kid because it substitutes, a
-
pet substitute says, a pet is equal or more value
-
to a human. A pet. I want you to go
-
back to Genesis if you can. Is that Devin back there? Devin,
-
go back to Genesis 1.28. Watch, fill the earth and
-
govern it after be fruitful and multiply. Rain over the
-
fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and
-
all the animals that scurry along the ground. Notice, and
-
please don't take offense, it doesn't say confide in the animals.
-
And I, please, I understand there's scientific, there's emotional things, there's,
-
I understand. But we're confiding in animals more than the
-
presence of Jesus. Do you understand that we as a society,
-
not us in the room, we're perfect, but we as
-
a society are choosing to look at a face of
-
a pet, at the face of the living God. We're
-
rejecting the very blessing that God has given us and
-
sacrificing our future as a society on the altar of self.
-
Have a... brother in Christ named Shane Winnings that goes
-
around college campuses and does viral videos where he records
-
certain things that are kind of tricky, but he walked
-
around and with a clipboard, hey, there's these pets that
-
are being aborted, forced abortions, and we're signing a petition
-
for the pets that are being aborted to stop them
-
getting aborted. Would you sign this? And he probably had
-
like a 90 plus percent ratio of like, yes, I
-
will sign that. And then the next clipboard is like,
-
they're doing the same thing to humans. Would you sign that?
-
It's like, no, I won't sign that. This is real.
-
Because society has said a pet is not an inconvenience,
-
but a human is. And that is demonic. So the
-
question today is, are kids a burden? Wow. The word
-
burden is a very objective term. Not in society. Society
-
has labeled burden as a negative connotation, as an oppressive term.
-
And generally, it's used as an oppressive term. Saying kids
-
are going to take your money. They're going to take
-
your future. They're going to take your sleep. They're going
-
to take everything from you and leave you high and dry. Why?
-
Maybe that mentality has led us to be such a
-
separation between the kids you do have and where we're
-
at now. The attitude that we have leads us down
-
a wrong path. I want to bring a scripture here.
-
Matthew chapter 11 verse 28. Watch what Jesus says. Can
-
I get the keys whenever there's a chance? Thank you.
-
Jesus said, come to me All of you who are
-
weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.
-
Next verse. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach
-
you because I'm humble and gentle at heart and you
-
will find rest for your souls. And watch this next part.
-
For my yoke is easy to bear and the burden,
-
say burden. Burden that he gives us. The burden that
-
I give you is light or it's easy. I wonder
-
if it's a kingdom burden, children. It's a burden of blessing.
-
It's a burden. Of maturity. It's a burden of purpose.
-
It's a burden of honor. It's a burden that gives
-
you something to live for. It's a burden of legacy.
-
It's a burden that gives us. The opportunity to live.
-
The Christian life out on this earth. Family. Family. is
-
one of the biggest pillars of society. And if the
-
enemy knows in the time of Moses, he can snuff
-
that out. In the time of Jesus, he can snuff
-
that out. And in your present time, in the 21st century,
-
if he's snuffing that out at a 25% ratio right now,
-
what do you think it's going to be in 10
-
years unless you rise up? Excuse my passion. It's Father's Day.
-
What do you think is on his heart? His kids.
-
You're on his heart. So this morning, there's no shame.
-
There's no condemnation. Some of us have just believed a lie, maybe,
-
in our history. This morning is just an opportunity to say, God,
-
I don't want even to listen to what Roman has
-
to say. I want to listen to what you have
-
to say. I want to open that scripture and see
-
who you are, your nature, your character. What you value,
-
I want that to be the value system of mine.
-
Some of us carry mentalities of like, well, if I
-
can't be a blessing in my kid's life, I don't
-
want kids at all. I'm telling you what, you have
-
no idea. You have no idea what God has for you.
-
Some of us are provoked to restore relationships with our
-
kids right now. There might be a father or two
-
in this room that's saying, you know what, I haven't
-
fathered really well. And maybe that's why my kids don't
-
want to have kids. And maybe this morning is a
-
moment of, Of like, I'm going to man up. And
-
I'm going to show what servanthood looks like. Wash the
-
feet of my kids. Come in humility and say, you
-
know what? I know I'm wrong. Maybe I'm not. But
-
it doesn't matter. I'll take that. I'll take that. And
-
I'll take that. Whatever it is, I'll carry that. I
-
just want to be restored to my purpose. And that's
-
being a father. That's being a mother. That's being a leader.
-
That's being an influencer. That's going into the society that
-
God has put you in. And say, you know what?
-
You matter to me. You matter to me. Your future
-
matters to me. This morning, would you just stand to
-
your feet? I don't know if you're in the room
-
and you're convicted to just be a mouthpiece or if
-
you're convicted to potentially repent or if you're convicted to say,
-
you know what? I don't even know what he's talking about,
-
but I know I need to know Jesus. There's an
-
opportunity this morning to know our heavenly father. So I'm
-
going to have the destiny, the prayer team come up
-
just for a quick, quick moment. I know we got
-
a wonderful car show out there with some food and
-
fun and fellowship, but this morning I want there to
-
be an opportunity just to receive healing if you need healing.
-
If there's past trauma, if you were raised in a
-
family with bad fatherly or motherly examples and you just
-
need healing, this is a moment. This is a moment.
-
If you, maybe you're in this room and you're like,
-
you know what? I haven't been the best parent, but
-
I want to move forward. This is a moment. Maybe
-
you're here and you're past the point of being a parent,
-
but you're like, you know what? I want to actually
-
be an instrument in the hand of God. And I
-
want to be a multiplication on this earth of the
-
kingdom of heaven. This is a moment for you too.
-
If there's something that hits you this morning, And you're saying,
-
you know what? I want to be more influential in
-
the society. And I want to see it go from
-
a 1.59 to 1.65 to a 1.75 to a 2.5.
-
You know that if they stopped abortions today, we would
-
be replenished as a society. We'd be at a 2.1
-
as a society. There's no lack of kids. It's just
-
the discernment of the mind that God's raising us up into. Cool?
-
Would you close your eyes? Father, I thank you that
-
this morning is a morning of change, a morning of excitement. God,
-
that you're going to fire us up. And I know
-
it's a sobering word, but I know it's on your heart.
-
And God, you wish the best for your kids. And
-
here we are. We ask that you would utilize us,
-
transform us from the inside out to be your hands
-
and feet on this earth. In Jesus' name, I want
-
to encourage you to come and pray with somebody. Maybe
-
there's a pain in your body, or maybe you're giving
-
your life to the Lord, or maybe there's something you
-
want to see change in your life. Come pray with
-
a prayer partner. God bless you this morning.
