  1. Passages with me tonight. I say a lot, I mean, a good

  2. number of them anyway, and as many of them as you can turn to

  3. with me, I would appreciate it. If you did, we are planning to

  4. continue on with the standards and convictions and I'm going to

  5. show you my page full of notes that I had on that this is it.

  6. So I was working on it. I had probably three or four

  7. hours into it last this week working on that lesson and I

  8. said, I worked on everything else.

  9. That I had to get done and worked on the Sunday morning

  10. message and everything else. And I sat down last night, while

  11. I was already sitting down, but I opened my, my word document,

  12. it probably around 11:15 ish to finish up just a little bit that

  13. I had left on it and it was all gone.

  14. I have no idea. I called Josh at 11:15 last

  15. night and he was in places in my computer that I didn't even know

  16. existed. And I saw all kinds of code and

  17. everything else and words, but none of what I had typed out or

  18. anything that I had done was there.

  19. So I have no idea what To it, or how it disappeared, or where it

  20. went, but the blank document was still there, but that was it.

  21. So I shifted course a little bit and I want to give you a little

  22. bit of a challenge tonight. We'll move that too.

  23. Well, next week we have our dinner on the grounds and

  24. Aidan's going to preach for us in the evening.

  25. So we'll move it to the week after that.

  26. I don't know why. God allowed that to happen, but

  27. I trust that he did and so he knows what's best and he knows

  28. when is best. And so we'll pick that up again

  29. in a couple weeks. But I think this would be

  30. helpful for us tonight. Night Romans chapter 8, really

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  31. in the Book of Romans and really all the way throughout the New

  32. Testament. Paul really put an emphasis on

  33. our lives being pleasing to God. And and honestly that's a very

  34. very broad statements. A very vague statement, really?

  35. And it's if we don't know exactly what we're aiming at

  36. then it can just be anything. Let your life, please God.

  37. Well and that's a great, you know, obviously if if somebody

  38. wrote that on my Tombstone, that Great thing his life.

  39. Please God, I mean, that'd be a great thing to have on your

  40. Tombstone but as far as making that a goal of Our Lives, what

  41. does that look like? What are we aiming at?

  42. What's the, what's the goal here in Romans chapter 8?

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  43. And I'm going to look at a few other verses in Romans chapter 8

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  44. when we get a little bit further into it.

  45. But verse number eight, I think sums all of that stuff.

  46. All of that up in the Bible says this.

  47. So then they that are in the flesh.

  48. Cannot please. God.

  49. Well, there's a lot of things in the Bible that says Says this

  50. pleases God and there's a lot of things in the Bible that says

  51. this does not please God. And that's one of them.

  52. So tonight I want to give you some specific things that we can

  53. do in our lives to make sure that we are pleasing.

  54. God, let's pray and then we'll look at a few of these things

  55. tonight. Father, we love you and we thank

  56. you for your goodness, thank you for the opportunity, you've

  57. given us to be here tonight. I pray that you would help it

  58. help this to be a challenge to us and pray that every single

  59. one of us in our lives would have that goal that we just want

  60. to, please you with our lives. And I pray that you would just

  61. work in. Hearts this evening through the

  62. message in Jesus name. Amen.

  63. The very first point goes right along with what we find there in

  64. Romans chapter 8 and that is this, if we want to please God,

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  65. we must fight the flesh. We must fight the flesh those

  66. that live in the flesh. The Bible says there in verse 8,

  67. cannot, please God, let's back it up to verse number five.

  68. There in Romans chapter 8 for they, that are after The Flesh,

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  69. do mind, the things of the flesh.

  70. But they, that are after the spirit capital S, the things of

  71. the spirit for to be carnally, minded is death.

  72. But to be spiritually, minded is life and peace, because the

  73. carnal mind is enmity against God for.

  74. It's not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be so

  75. then they that are in the flesh, cannot please God.

  76. And I think that's what happens when we get saved.

  77. If we truly, if we truly are saved, then it's going to change

  78. our life. It's going to produce fruit.

  79. We're going to be different than we were before we accepted.

  80. Jesus Christ, as our savior, and that's what the Bible says.

  81. They that are after The Flesh, mind the things of the flesh.

  82. But the Thereafter the spirit, mind the things of the spirit

  83. because if we are living in the flesh, if that's all, we're

  84. focusing on, and that's all we care about.

  85. That's death, will die in the flesh, right?

  86. But they that the Bible says, there to be spiritually, minded

  87. is life and peace. There are a lot of things that

  88. we have to fight the flesh over, right?

  89. We talked about this with the young, whether young kids,

  90. especially, there's things that they fight against the Flesh in

  91. for them. Maybe it's a to tell a lie or to

  92. steal or cheat or to disobey or You know, to anything.

  93. I mean there's so many things that that are Temptations for

  94. younger kids. And honestly those are still the

  95. Temptations for the older people as well.

  96. I suppose, by that point you should be past the point of

  97. telling lies and stealing and cheating and things like that.

  98. And I know it happens all the time.

  99. And so those are things that we have to fight as well.

  100. But for the, for the older ones, in addition to those things it

  101. moves into things that are whole lot more complicated than that

  102. as well, right? Maybe it's the temptation to

  103. listen to the wrong, kind of music or to watch the wrong

  104. things on TV or Watch the wrong things on the computer and or

  105. even to be in pure was another person, right?

  106. Those are all Temptations. And, and the way that that

  107. happens is because we're living in the flesh.

  108. If your desire and your goal was nothing other than to, please

  109. God, then you wouldn't be tempted by those things.

  110. Now, it's not the Temptation. That's wrong.

  111. Bible says, there is not. There's no temptation.

  112. That's not common to man. We're all tempted, right?

  113. But God, who is faithful. Well, well, well, not sup will

  114. not suffer you to be tempted above that.

  115. We are able but he'll give us a way of Escape that we can bear

  116. that Temptation. So The Temptations not wrong.

  117. Jesus was tempted, right? He went out into the Wilderness

  118. and for 40 days. He fasted and prayed in as soon

  119. as he was done and mind, you is that the weakest Point,

  120. physically, the devil came and tempted him did Jesus sin,

  121. because he was tempted course, not.

  122. So it's not a sin to be tempted. It's a sin to give in to that

  123. temptation. But the reason we give in to

  124. that temptation is We're not living in the spirit, we're

  125. living in the flesh, and if we want to, please God, we must

  126. fight that flesh. Those who gave into the Flesh

  127. and allow the flesh to rule. Them cannot, please God, turn

  128. over to Galatians chapter 5. Galatians chapter 5, we're going

Galatians 5 chapter mention Galatians 5 chapter mention

  129. to, like I said, when we jumping around a little bit, so keep

  130. your fingers loose if you can. But the Bible says in Galatians

    Galatians 5 chapter mention

  131. chapter 5, actually, we'll get to that in a second because I

  132. want to ask you about this first.

  133. Have you ever thought about ways that you definitely don't want

  134. to die? Nobody wants to die but we know

  135. it's inevitable. We know it's coming right?

  136. But there are ways that I certainly don't want to die

  137. suicide. I mean that's how I could never

  138. pull the trigger or do you know what people do to commit

  139. suicide? And my father-in-law used to say

  140. all the time. If you find a suicide note next

  141. to my body it was forged. And I think that I can say the

  142. same thing. I'm not going to write a

  143. suicide, note and take my own life, but I just thought about

  144. some, you know, some of the ways that would be very difficult

  145. drowning. I think would be would be very

  146. scary, right? You just can't take another.

  147. Breath or burning in a building. Could you imagine just watching

  148. the Flames all around you and burning in the, you know, in the

  149. flames? It's just a lot of different

  150. ways that would be painful. But I mean, for me, and probably

  151. for most people, the easiest way to do it is just go to sleep and

  152. never wake up again, right? That'd be the best way to go.

  153. But I saw this, I read this one time and I've never forgotten.

  154. I mean, I saw this when I was a little kid, but it said, when I

  155. die, I want to go, I want to go peacefully.

  156. And in my sleep, like, my grandfather did not screaming

  157. like the passengers in his car, and I just saw the years and

  158. years ago, and it stuck with me. I just thought it was pretty,

  159. but I think the absolute worst possible way that you could die

  160. would be by crucifixion, could you?

  161. Imagine? And I've, you know, I've seen

  162. some of the torture techniques especially in the medieval times

  163. and things and honestly, many of them were were inflicted on

  164. Christians who ended up becoming Martyrs for the cause of Jesus

  165. Christ. And you read through Like foxes

  166. book of Martyrs and some of these other books that detail

  167. and Chronicle, those who gave their lives for the cause of

  168. Jesus Christ and see what they endured.

  169. The torture that they went through, but even even broader

  170. than Christians, there's a lot of, you know, political enemies

  171. that have been tortured in horrific ways.

  172. But the reason why crucifixion was invented was to come up with

  173. a about a torturous way as you could possibly come up with for

  174. somebody to die. Yeah, I think about being burned

  175. at the stake most of the time when you're burned at the stake,

  176. Or not dying from being burnt, you're dying from the smoke

  177. inhalation before your body is burned up.

  178. And so there's a lot of other ways that are difficult but but

  179. crucifixion is a tough tough way to die.

  180. And so when Jesus Christ did that for us, I mean obviously

  181. that means he was he was suffering about as much as he

  182. could possibly suffer as a human being when he died on the cross,

  183. the way that he did. But the flesh also hates

  184. crucifixion as much as I would hate to be crucified as much as

  185. I would hate to be whipped and beaten him hung up on the cross.

  186. And if you stayed Long enough, you finally get your, get your

  187. legs broken and all of those other things that go along with

  188. that. But what look we see in

  189. Galatians chapter 5 and verse number 24 says this and they

    Galatians 5 chapter mention

  190. that are Christ's have crucified, the flesh with the

  191. affections and lusts, see the the flesh hates that crucifixion

  192. and it's going to fight against it is going to do everything.

  193. It can to live to stay alive to keep fighting another day and it

  194. just keeps coming back and coming back and coming back and

  195. that's why Paul said I Die daily.

  196. Daily. Because the flesh is going to

  197. keep coming back. It's not going to be dead until

  198. you are right. The flesh is going to constantly

  199. fight against us, and if we want to, please God, then we have to

  200. fight against the flesh. Turn over to Second Timothy,

    2 Timothy 2 chapter mention

  201. Chapter 2, and I'll give you the second way that we can, please

  202. God not only when we fight the flesh but also when we stay away

  203. from the world, stay away from the world.

  204. Now obviously, we can't help but live in the world, right?

  205. You can't go live on Mars because you're trying to

  206. separate and be different from the world.

  207. Of course, maybe that's not too far off, but I'm not going to be

  208. one of the ones that goes on that journey and lives on Mars.

  209. I can tell you that much but we should be in the world but not

  210. of it. And that's exactly what Paul is

  211. talking about there in second, Timothy Chapter 2 and verse

  212. number 3, thou, therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of

  213. Jesus Christ. No man, that warith and Tango

  214. has himself with the Affairs of this life, that he may, please

  215. him who hath chosen him to be a soldier, talking about pleasing

  216. God, you want to please him, that's called you to be a

  217. soldier, then don't entangle yourself with the Affairs of

  218. this life. That's what a true Soldier

  219. that's out there. Fighting in a battle, is not

  220. worried about anything else except fighting that battle and

  221. winning that battle. They're not, you're not texting

  222. on their phone, they're not watching videos on YouTube.

  223. They're not, you know, finding out with the latest trends are

  224. in fashion and all Those other things they're dressed in their

  225. army gear, they are out there doing what they've been called

  226. to do, and that's to fight against the enemy, and that's

  227. exactly what God's called us to do those that.

  228. Please, God do that by separating from the world.

  229. There ought to be something different about you.

  230. If you're a Christian, you ought to look different.

  231. You ought to act different, you ought to talk different there.

  232. Ought to be that people say what is it about you?

  233. That's different. I want what you have many.

  234. Many people have been 12. Jesus Christ have been led to

  235. Jesus Christ by Christian who worked in a In the workplace and

  236. looked and act and talked like a Christian, that changes things.

  237. And we ought to be different from the world's not going to be

  238. an easy thing. If it was easy, every single

  239. Christian would be sold out to God.

  240. Every single Christian would be different.

  241. Every single Christian would keep themselves away from the

  242. things that are worldly. But we see this in James chapter

  243. one and you can turn over there, James chapter 1 and verse number

    James 1 chapter mention

  244. 27. The world is an enemy of God,

  245. the world hates God and the more we try to be like the world.

  246. The more we are trying to be like the one that has that, that

  247. hates God and wants to do everything they can to keep him

  248. from being promoted in this world.

  249. Right? How many, how often do you see

  250. these? These laws that are being put in

  251. place that are that are Banning things that are anything to do

  252. with Christianity, right? How often they try to keep the

  253. Ten Commandments out of the courthouse and try to keep the

  254. the manger scene out of the Town Square and just everything they

  255. can do to erase Christianity and the more we try to be the friend

  256. to the world. The more we are shaking hands

  257. with and going, right. Alongside those who are trying

  258. to destroy the very thing that we claim to be the very thing

  259. that we claim is our life. And that's Christianity.

  260. James 1:27 says this pure religion and undefiled before

    James 1:27

  261. God and the father is this to visit the fatherless and widows

  262. in their Affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the

  263. world. What a goal.

  264. Keep yourself unspotted from the world, right?

  265. The world is a muddy nasty, dirty place and you walk through

  266. a dirty Street, you're going to get a little bit of mud on your

  267. clothes, but I'll responsibility then is to get that mud off as

  268. soon as we can clean it up before it keeps compounding and

  269. compounding and compounding. Right?

  270. That's what we as Christians. That's what pure religion is.

  271. Keep yourself unspotted from the world.

  272. Look over at James chapter 4. Just a couple Pages later.

    James 4 chapter mention

  273. Anyone who's in love with the world and follows after it is as

  274. an enemy of God and cannot please him.

  275. We see that very plainly there in James chapter 4 and verse

    James 4 chapter mention

  276. number 4, and boy what strong language God uses hear ye

  277. adulterers and adulteresses know, ye not that the Friendship

  278. of the world is enmity with God, whosoever.

  279. Therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

  280. That doesn't mean that you can't have friends in the world but

  281. you shouldn't be friendly with the world and when the Bible

  282. talks about the world, it's talking about the, you know, the

  283. glitz and the glamour in all of that, you know, everything that

  284. the world is and everything that the world stands for and that's

  285. the fashion industry. And that's just so many things

  286. that the world presents itself to be the things that are that

  287. are doing everything they can to go against God, that's the world

  288. and, and James here. As your daughter is an

  289. adulteress is. In other words, if you're a

  290. friend of the world, you're an enemy of God.

  291. And you are essentially, you are cheating God, right?

  292. You, you are, you are basically throwing that back in God's face

  293. whosoever. Therefore will be a friend of

  294. the world is the enemy of God. It's not just what?

  295. God's not pleased with him, God doesn't like that.

  296. It says you are the enemy of God when you're a friend of the

  297. world, that's very, very strong language but that ought to wake

  298. us up that ought to make us say. Well I don't want anything to do

  299. with something. It's going to align me as being

  300. an enemy of God, I want to be a friend of God, right?

  301. Know, ye not that, the Friendship of the world is

  302. enmity with God, whosoever. Therefore will be a friend of

  303. the world is the enemy of God. Turn over to Galatians chapter

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  304. 1. How do we please?

  305. God, we please God, when we fight the flesh, we please God.

  306. When we stay away from the world.

  307. Number three, we seek, we please God when we seek to please God

  308. over men. Galatians chapter 1.

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  309. Verse number 10. Paul is asking, kind of a an

  310. ironic question I guess for do I now persuade men or God or do?

  311. I seek to please men for if I yet, pleased men.

  312. Should not be the servant of Christ seek to please God over

  313. men. That's how we're going to please

  314. God. So many people are concerned

  315. with pleasing those around them that they often ignore the fact

  316. that they're not pleasing God, right?

  317. We want to be liked, we want people to to love us.

  318. Right. And there's I mean those who are

  319. seeking to please men are not pleasing.

  320. God, it's easy to want to be liked the fact if you want to be

  321. hated. I think there's something wrong

  322. with you right now we know that when we take a stand for the

  323. things of Christ, when we take a stand for the things of God, we

  324. are going to be hated. And I ought to love the things

  325. of God, more than I love being like more than I love being

  326. appreciated. More than I love being loved.

  327. Right? But not at not at the expense of

  328. having God not pleased with Me, we should be seeking popularity

  329. over. Shouldn't be seeking popularity

  330. over principle and we see that happening so often with a lot of

  331. our politicians now, right? What's way of the winds blowing,

  332. okay? That's what I'm going to be and

  333. you know, a lot of times you see that that 5 or 10 or 15 years

  334. ago, they were staunchly against whatever it is and actually now

  335. there's these so, quote, unquote, hot button topics, you

  336. know, used to be that 15 years ago, even all these people were

  337. against abortion and they were against homosexuality and they

  338. were And so all these things but the political winds have

  339. changed. Now the winds blowing, a

  340. different direction and now just as staunchly as they were

  341. against those things, now there for them that's not standing on

  342. principle at standing on popularity.

  343. If it's going to give me a little bit of popularity, if

  344. it's going to give me a little bit of media time then I'll do

  345. it. It's not pleasing to God right?

  346. We should not seek the praise of men over the praise of God.

  347. You have to remember that man, only sees the outward

  348. appearance. God sees the heart, doesn't

  349. matter as much, what you look like on the outside, as it does.

  350. You actually are on the inside and so many Christians,

  351. especially have gotten used to this idea of looking good on the

  352. outside and, and, and to their Christian friends into the world

  353. around them. Even, maybe they look good.

  354. But inside, they're just they're empty.

  355. They're full of dead men's bones.

  356. Like we talked about this morning, but we ought to be

  357. seeking to please God over man. Turn to Isaiah 56.

  358. We please God when we fight the flesh we please God and we stay

  359. away from the world. We please God when we seek to

  360. please him over men and number four, we please God.

  361. When we choose things that please him while it isn't that a

  362. profound statement. But it's true.

  363. We please God. When we choose things that are

  364. pleasing to him, right? Isaiah chapter 56, in verse

    Isaiah 56 chapter mention

  365. number 1, Thus said the Lord keep you judgment and do justice

  366. for my salvation is near to come and my righteousness to be

  367. revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth

  368. this and the son of man that lays hold on it, that keepeth

  369. the Sabbath from polluting it keepeth, his hand, from doing

  370. any evil, neither. Let the son of the stranger.

  371. That have joined himself to the Lord, speak saying, the Lord

  372. hath utterly separated me from his people.

  373. Neither like, the eunuch say, behold, I'm a dry tree for thus.

  374. Saith, the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my Sabbath's and

  375. choose the things that please me.

  376. And take hold of my Covenant even unto them.

  377. Will I give mine house and within my walls a place in a

  378. name better than sons and of daughters, I will give them an

  379. everlasting name. That shall not be cut off.

  380. Also, the sons of strangers that join themselves to the Lord to

  381. serve him and to love the name of the Lord to be his servants.

  382. Everyone that keep the Sabbath from polluting it and take a

  383. hold of my Covenant, even them will I bring to my Holy Mountain

  384. and make them joyful In My House of Prayer, their burnt offerings

  385. and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar.

  386. From my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.

  387. The Lord God, which gather at the outcasts of Israel saith

  388. yet. Will I gather others to him

  389. beside those? That are gathered unto him.

  390. And I think that's kind of a prophetic passage about the fact

  391. that the Gentiles were going to accept Jesus Christ, even even

  392. before the Jews did, right? And and so he was expanding

  393. that, I would say, it doesn't matter who it is that accepts

  394. what I'm preaching accepts, what I'm teaching, you can, please

  395. God the matter who you are. If you are a eunuch, if your A

  396. stranger. It doesn't matter.

  397. You do what God says you're supposed to do in his word and

  398. he'll look at that the same way, he'll be pleasing to him but

  399. every single day you're faced with a whole lot of decisions

  400. about whether you're going to do right or wrong.

  401. I don't know, I've never done any looked up any research on

  402. it, and I don't even know if there's any way that you could

  403. really do research on that, but can you imagine how many choices

  404. you make every single day? I know I have in the past.

  405. I've heard that they're that they're you know what the number

  406. was, and I haven't seen in a long time so I don't even want

  407. to throw a number out there, but it's a lot.

  408. They have also been able to calculate the number of thoughts

  409. that you have in a day or the thoughts, that that an average

  410. person has in the day. And it's an astronomical number.

  411. We are making even if there are the smallest scale, we are

  412. making decisions, hundreds, and hundreds and hundreds of

  413. decisions. Every day on whether we're going

  414. to do right. Or whether we're going to do

  415. wrong, the devil is constantly. They're trying to tempt us to do

  416. those things. But every day, the flesh is

  417. going to try to turn us away from God every day.

  418. The flesh is going to fight against you reading your Bible

  419. and having your prayer time, the flesh is going to fight against

  420. you giving out the message of the gospel.

  421. And it's not even that that in your mind, you say, you know

  422. what, I'm not giving out the gospel today.

  423. It's just that you get busy and we allow that busyness to take

  424. over the things that are more important that our most

  425. important. That is the things of God.

  426. Every person has to make a deliberate choice to do things

  427. that please God. And when I say choose things

  428. that please him, of course, that's pleasing to him.

  429. But it's it, you know, in your own life that sometimes, It's

  430. harder to do that than it sounds.

  431. Oh, just juice things. That please God.

  432. That'll be pleasing to him. It will be.

  433. But often, we don't choose those things.

  434. We choose the opposite. If we would just take every

  435. individual decision on an individual basis and say, no,

  436. I'm using this decision to choose to please God.

  437. I know that there's a lot of things that are pulling me away.

  438. I know that there's a lot of things that are trying to eat at

  439. my time, but this is what's right.

  440. This is what's pleasing to God and I'm going to choose the

  441. things that are pleasing to him. I want to look at one more in

  442. Hebrews chapter 11. How do we please?

    Hebrews 11 chapter mention

  443. God, there's there's, there's other verses in the Bible that

  444. talk about, pleasing him, but there are there.

  445. We're just going to look at five of the night, and this is the

  446. fifth please. And when we fight the flesh, we

  447. please him. When we stay away from the

  448. world, please him. When we seek to please God over

  449. men who plays him when we simply choose the things that please

  450. him. But then lastly, we find here in

  451. Hebrews chapter 11 and verse number 6.

    Hebrews 11 chapter mention

  452. But without faith, it is impossible to please him.

  453. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he

  454. is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

  455. So how do you please God, you have faith, you have faith.

  456. All of these things that go into pleasing god require faith.

  457. Right? So you can, you can choose

  458. things that please God. You can fight the flesh, you can

  459. stay away from the world, you can do all of these other

  460. things. But the Bible, very plainly,

  461. says without faith. It's impossible to please him.

  462. So, if you're doing these things without faith, then there's no

  463. possible way that you can please.

  464. God faith to believe that he's going to reward those that

  465. please him, right? And that way he talks about

  466. there in that verse he that cometh to God Must Believe.

  467. Number one, that he is, that he is God that he is in that

  468. position that he does exist. This right?

  469. But that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him

  470. their faith to believe that he's going to help those who are

  471. seeking to, please him have to have faith to believe that he

  472. can give us the victory over the flesh.

  473. So many people fail to, please God because they don't have the

  474. faith to believe that God can give them the victory.

  475. I think what happens in our lives.

  476. So many times as we fail, and we fail and we fail and we fail.

  477. And finally, we give up. And we say God's not, helping me

  478. God's not given me the victory. I'm just going to, I guess I'm

  479. just going to be a failure of the rest of my life.

  480. It takes Faith to believe that God will help you.

  481. You have to work, you have to make an effort at it, but you

  482. make an effort, God will help you same way.

  483. That we just mentioned the verse a little bit ago when it comes

  484. to Temptation there hath. No, temptation taken you, but

  485. such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not

  486. suffer you to be tempted above that, ye are able.

  487. But also will with the Temptation, make a way of

  488. Escape, that you may be able to bear it.

  489. Right, there is a way out knowing there's not a temptation

  490. is so strong, I just can't help it.

  491. Now, there's a way out, there's a way out, you just have to have

  492. faith to believe that God can do it, right?

  493. A lot of other things that go along with that, but God, God

  494. wants to give us victory in this life.

  495. First, John chapter 5 and verse. Number 4 says, for whatsoever is

    John 5 chapter mention

  496. born of God overcometh. The world.

  497. This is the victory that overcometh.

  498. The world even our faith songwriter said, faith is the

  499. victory. It overcomes the world God wants

  500. to give us victory in this life and he wants to help us to

  501. please him. But we have to have faith to

  502. believe that he'll do it. Once you look at one last

  503. passage with me and we're done Proverbs chapter 16.

    Proverbs 16 chapter mention

  504. Proverbs chapter 16 and boy the Proverbs are just filled with so

    Proverbs 16 chapter mention

  505. many verses that give us great wisdom and how to please God,

  506. but Proverbs chapter 16 And verse number 7, it says this,

    Proverbs 16 chapter mention

  507. when a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies

  508. to be at peace with him. Well, you talk about him.

  509. Good life. Talk about having a life that is

  510. it is peaceful. Talk about having a life.

  511. That's wonderful. When a man's ways, please the

  512. Lord. And we've talked about all these

  513. different ways that we please the Lord.

  514. But when a man's ways, please, the Lord, even as enemies, even

  515. the ones who hate him, even the ones who are against him are

  516. going to be at peace with him, right?

  517. Everything is right. When we're seeking to, please

  518. God, if everything we did. With a mindset above all is I

  519. just want to please God, we would never have to worry about

  520. falling into temptation or falling into sin.

  521. Because we're tempted, we never have to worry about a lot of

  522. these things that so often like the Bible says easily beset us

  523. if every single day my mindset is I just want to please God.

  524. Well what a thing that you could put on your on your mirror and

  525. put it on your dash and your car, something like that.

  526. I just Just want to please God. And if you have that as your

  527. mindset, then I know then you will please God, you will please

  528. God because everything else pales in comparison to that. if

  529. we fight the flesh, we stay away from the world we seek to please

  530. God over men if we choose things that please him, and if we have

  531. faith And our lives will be in complete fulfillment of what he

  532. is. That he wants us to accomplish,

  533. right? And above all our overarching,

  534. theme of our entire life, should just be, I just want to, please

  535. God. I just want to please God, if

  536. that would become our Mantra, if that would become our life, that

  537. would become the model that we that we live our lives.

  538. After Then we would please God. The Bible says even our enemies

  539. if even our enemies will be at peace with us, imagine the

  540. blessings that would come from living for the blessings.

  541. That would come from God. Imagine the blessings that would

  542. come from other Christians. Imagine the way that God would

  543. use us if we just had that mindset, I don't want anything

  544. else. I just want to please God.

  545. Hopefully, that's a reminder to you tonight but let's pray.

  546. Father, we love you. And we thank you so much for how

  547. good you are to us. And God, I pray that you would

  548. use the message in our hearts convict us convict this of the,

  549. in these areas where we, where we choose the world over you,

  550. where we choose the flesh over you.

  551. We don't fight as hard as we could, where we don't.

  552. Please, you and everything that we do.

  553. So God I pray that you would speak to our hearts.

  554. I pray that you would just allow the Holy Spirit to work in our

  555. hearts and we're decisions need to be made tonight.

  556. God, I pray that they would be and that everything in our lives

  557. would focus around that thought of I just want to please God.

  558. and God, I pray that you to help us help us to be used by you

  559. because we Want to be used by you and because we want to place

  560. here, but thank you for all that you do for us in Jesus name.

  561. Amen. If you
