  1. Just me. That's why I'd rather just

  2. called me a couple weeks ago. I was like, hey, I'll do it now

  3. dismiss for you. I don't know if that was for

  4. your benefit or for his. He was like, I can't deal with

  5. you up there all day, but first, Samuel chapter 30, we're not

  6. going to, we're not going to. This is not the text but I want

  7. to start here. Before I get started to just an

  8. addition to the announcements, these are the faith promise that

  9. brother Josh was talking about. We're not handing them out yet

  10. because I know what'll happen to they'll end up lost and will you

  11. end up having to get another one?

  12. Anyways, so these you will get one of these.

  13. And what it is is its Pastor will go through faith, promise

  14. if you're not familiar with it, but this is the part that you'll

  15. tear off. But we're not, those are not due

  16. till the end of March. Okay.

  17. So, faith Thomas will start April 1st.

  18. So we have time, but be praying about that.

  19. What God wants you to give and then it'll just be a matter of

  20. writing that number down and turn it in.

  21. All right? First Samuel, chapter 30.

    1 Samuel 30 chapter mention

  22. I'm keeping track of time because I have a tendency to go

  23. long and I'm not doing that this morning.

  24. I'm promising you a myself that I'm not going to go along and

  25. I'll just cut it off if I start getting along.

  26. All right. But first remember the same and

  27. 13:6 if you know this passage You know that this is David

  28. King, David? And the story of ziklag, anybody

  29. know, what happened at ziklag? It was when David's Mighty Men

  30. or David's, David's soldiers, not just his mighty member, all

  31. of his army, was out there, fighting with him, not with him,

  32. but with him not fighting with him, but on his side and they

  33. came back to ziklag look at first.

  34. Salmon 30:1 came to pass when David and his men were come to

  35. ziklag on the third day that the amalekites had invaded, the

  36. South and ziklag and Smitten ziklag and burned it with fire

  37. ziklag was David's home and all of his when they went to war,

  38. they had left all their wives children belongings that was

  39. their homes. And when they came back from

  40. fighting, this is what they found.

  41. They had smitten ziklag and burned it with fire and had

  42. taken the women captives that were there in.

  43. They slew not any so they can kill anybody either.

  44. Great or small but carried them away and went on their way.

  45. So David and his men came to the city and behold.

  46. It was burned with fire. And their wives and their sons

  47. and their daughters were taken captive.

  48. Could you imagine what that would be?

  49. We don't live like this anymore, but this was normal that they

  50. would pillage a city and take everything and and all the

  51. people that they took would be captives and they would assume

  52. them into their, their Community, or their tribe, or

  53. whatever it was. But David remember, David's got

  54. a whole group of Mighty Men. These guys aren't going to let

  55. it happen, right? So, look at verse 5.

  56. Or yeah, verse verse 4 then David and the people that were

  57. with him, lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more

  58. power to weep and David's two, wives were taking captives, a

  59. henna ham, a hint, O M, and J and the jezreelite this and

  60. Abigail the wife of nabal. The Carmelite and David was

  61. greatly distressed for the people speak of stoning him

  62. because the soul of all the people was grieved.

  63. Every man for his sons and for his daughters, but David

  64. encouraged himself. In the Lord his God, that's what

  65. I want to look at that little tiny piece of that verse to

  66. start off because I think we especially especially in our

  67. world today, we get discouraged. I mean, on top of everything

  68. we're doing with, with sickness and all the rest of that and I

  69. don't want to call them out, but I just saw Mike and Joann leave,

  70. I know she's not feeling good at all.

  71. She's had some test results and I think that's why they had to

  72. leave. She's just not feeling up to it,

  73. but we get Scourged over, things like that.

  74. We have, we have others going through tough times.

  75. You may be going through some things that nobody knows about,

  76. maybe it's with your family, or even with some adult children

  77. that are out of the house in your heart is breaking for them.

  78. Could be a job situation. We stuff people don't know

  79. about. And my point here is we can

  80. listen to because I've done it. I've gotten on and listen to

  81. some motivational speeches and things like that and they're

  82. great, it'll get you through for a little while.

  83. I'll, but that goes away. That feeling of I'm just going

  84. to do it that goes away. And we need to encourage

  85. ourselves in the Lord, the people David's men isn't just

  86. the people David's, men speak of stoning him, but David

  87. encouraged himself in the Lord. His God.

  88. So now turn to Psalm chapter 2. And that's what I want to talk

    Psalms 2 chapter mention

  89. about this morning, this Psalm is an encouragement to us.

  90. It's not a motivational speech. That's not what preaching is.

  91. And that's not what the Bible is, but it we can encourage

  92. ourselves in the Lord. Our God, I'm going to read all

  93. of chapter 2 and then we'll pray and then we'll get into the

  94. message. Alright.

  95. So I'm chapter 2 is probably very familiar.

  96. You probably recognize this at least parts of it.

  97. But Psalm chapter 2 verse 1, says, why do the Heathen rage

    Psalms 2:1

  98. and the people imagine a vain thing and that sounds like a

  99. really good verse, right? But what does it mean to talk

  100. about? That and just a few minutes, the

  101. kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers.

  102. Take counsel together against the Lord and against his

  103. anointed saying, let us break their bands, asunder and Cast

  104. Away their cords from us in verse 4, he that sitteth in the

  105. heavens, shall laugh? The Lord shall have them in

  106. derision, then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and Vex

  107. them in his sore displeasure And this is God speaking yet.

  108. Have I set my king upon my Holy Hill of Zion.

  109. I will declare the decree This is now his King speaking.

  110. I will declare the decree. The Lord hath said unto me, thou

  111. art my son. And that's a capital S this day.

  112. Have I begotten thee, ask of me and I shall give Thee the

  113. Heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost parts of the

  114. Earth for that possessions Thou shalt break them with a rod of

  115. iron. Thou shalt Dash them in pieces

  116. like a Potter's vessel be wise now.

  117. Therefore O ye Kings be instructed, ye judges of the

  118. earth, serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling kiss,

  119. the son, lest he be angry and you perish from the way when his

  120. wrath is kindled but a little blessed are all.

  121. They that put their trust in him.

  122. This is a this is a Psalm of encouragement and it's a Psalm

  123. of What should be fear to to the wicked?

  124. But let's break and then we'll get right into the message.

  125. Father, thank you for this day that you've given us got a thank

  126. you. As we've been singing and

  127. talking about this morning, we serve such a mighty God and I

  128. pray that we never forget that God when we get into different

  129. circumstances in our lives, things that pop up unexpectedly.

  130. God, I pray that we would remember that we serve a mighty

  131. God and it and as we'll see here in For two of Psalms blessed.

  132. Are those that put their trust in you pray, that would remember

  133. that pray that this message this morning would be a one of

  134. encouragement but also one of us being more committed to you

  135. because you're such a mighty and powerful and loving God to those

  136. that put their trust in you pray that you would just be with my

  137. words. God calm my nerves and that what

  138. you want for your The here, this morning would be said, and that

  139. you would work in hearts. In Jesus name, I pray.

  140. Amen. So I'm told, I don't know,

  141. Hebrew, I can't, if I looked at Hebrew, it looks like a kid

  142. scribbled on a page. It actually looks pretty nice.

  143. Believe it or not, and I don't know if you know this, but

  144. Hebrew. So I actually looked it up

  145. because I was reading on this and it says that this is a

  146. really, really symmetrical song. So there's 12 verses, there's

  147. four stanzas, it's almost like a poem or a him.

  148. Obviously the Psalms were songs that the Israelites sang.

  149. And so they say that this is a really symmetrical song and

  150. there's four verses of three verses each.

  151. So, I looked it up because symmetrical to me means, you

  152. know, each line is kind of the first line shortly next.

  153. One's long, the next one short on the first three verses.

  154. And then the next one will be the exactly the same.

  155. And if you look it up in the Hebrew, it actually is really

  156. close to that. It's very symmetrical.

  157. And when I first opened It up, I had forgotten that you read

  158. Hebrew from right to left, and so when I looked at it, I was

  159. like, what is that? It's upside down.

  160. But anyway, they say that this song is very symmetrical, four,

  161. stanzas of three lines each and it's, you can see it break at

  162. the 33. Verse Mark, you can see it

  163. change topics so to speak or change moods.

  164. All right? So we're going to get into this.

  165. But how does this song relate to us?

  166. We often hear that the Old Testament is for is not for us,

  167. right? We don't have to obey all those

  168. rules and everything in the Old Testament.

  169. But it's important to remember that the same God, that David

  170. was singing about here or writing about is the same God,

  171. we serve, right? And that we know that, but I

  172. don't think all the time that transfers from our head into our

  173. heart and into our actions. I think.

  174. Yeah, we serve the same God, but he can't do that.

  175. I got to worry about it. I need to be anxious about this

  176. because God certainly can't fix that.

  177. We wouldn't say that but that's the way we act, right?

  178. So why do the Heathen rage will get right into it?

  179. Verse 1? Why do the Heathen rage?

  180. I think this is a rhetorical question.

  181. Who, why do they raise him? And let me, I gotta follow my

  182. notes because it's so easy. This is a really to me than

  183. exciting chapter and I don't want to get ahead of myself and

  184. then I have to backtrack, but the Heathen raging what does

  185. that look like? You can go on YouTube or

  186. anything else and find clips of anchors of mainstream TV

  187. stations and things like that cursing, God?

  188. I'm the are they hate him? They rage at him.

  189. I wrote a few things down. Why do they ban prayer in

  190. schools? What is prayer to them if they

  191. don't believe in it? Why would they worry about it?

  192. Why do they ban that? Why do they?

  193. Why did they take the Ten Commandments out of the

  194. courthouse is, why do they try to ban manger scenes from town

  195. squares? Why?

  196. When we saw Roe versus Wade, get overturned, why do they rage in

  197. the streets and Riot and literally carrying signs that

  198. say kill more babies? What is that?

  199. That's the heating raging. They don't know what else to do.

  200. So to show their hatred for God they'll actually Curse God

  201. himself. If they knew who it was, they

  202. were cursing if they had read Psalm.

  203. To which they have and I'm sure. But if they had read Psalm

    Psalms 2 chapter mention

  204. chapter 2, they would be afraid. Look at, look at versa.

  205. Let's see. It's gone.

  206. Where'd it go verse 12, kiss? The son, lest he be angry and

  207. you perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little he

  208. even gets a little bit angry. You're going to be gone and that

  209. you curse God, the Heathen rage, but the verse 1, I think is a

  210. rhetorical question saying, why do the Heathen rage?

  211. What is the point? They think they can actually

  212. beat God. They've never seen him just like

  213. we haven't. So why do they rage against him?

  214. And and the people imagine a vain thing?

  215. I think the vain thing he's talking about is the fact that

  216. they might actually be able to be God, so they rage for what

  217. purpose, but they imagine that they might still be able to beat

  218. God. And it's important to remember.

  219. This is why I'm following my notes.

  220. It's very important to remember because I've been on the

  221. doorstep of people when we're knocking on doors and and it

  222. feels feels like they're attacking us when they say not

  223. interested. Bang, shut the door and you just

  224. like How do you know what I'm about to say?

  225. They know what we're doing and they're not, this is the

  226. important thing. They are not mad at us, they're

  227. not raging against us, they can't see God, he's not a

  228. physical. He's he is a spirit and they

  229. that worship Him must worship Him in spirit, and in truth,

  230. they're not mad at us, but they don't know how else to take

  231. their anger and their rage out on God.

  232. So they take it out. On God.

  233. And I mean, I'm his Representatives here on the

  234. surface and that, and that's us. So, why do they?

  235. Why do they vandalize churches? Why do why do these things

  236. happen? They're not mad at us.

  237. They're mad at God and that's important to remember because a

  238. couple weeks ago, pastor, preached that message on

  239. compassion. It's very hard to have

  240. compassion when you're just as mad at them as they are you

  241. right? Remember they're raging at God.

  242. So verses 1 through 3, this is the first stands of this song.

  243. Is sinful man is at war with God.

  244. It's a, it's a plain truth. Sinful man is At War With God.

  245. All men are until they are until they come to Christ.

  246. They are at war with God. And it's also important to

  247. remember here, that the reason that when the church stands up

  248. for truth, the world is mad at them, the world.

  249. The world cannot Just let their, their agenda and the church

  250. coexist, they can't do it. Bible says, you cannot serve two

  251. masters, right? You're either hate the one and

  252. love the other. You'll love the one and hate the

  253. other. You can't serve both.

  254. So even though sometimes we seem to get along with the world as

  255. soon as we stand for truth, they hate it.

  256. Because they are, raging at God. Sinful man is at war with God.

  257. And there comes a point and we'll see this later in the book

  258. or in the chapter, there comes a point.

  259. When? Man will either bow to God.

  260. Or fight him for all they're worth.

  261. And that is the facts of the matter.

  262. They will either route. Oh god, well, they'll fight them

  263. for all they're worth and I can't believe that some of these

  264. that are cursing. God on live television or

  265. whatever else have never heard the gospel.

  266. Maybe they have it but there's a reason they're so mad about it.

  267. It's because they hate what they've heard.

  268. And I might be getting ahead of myself but I have this somewhere

  269. in here but why do actually it's right there.

  270. John 3:19. This is the condemnation that

    John 3:19

  271. light is come into the world and Men loved Darkness rather than

  272. light because their deeds are evil or evil, they can't help

  273. but rage against God. It's in there.

  274. It's in our DNA, right? We talk about this all the time

  275. and people hate to hear it. That we are born.

  276. Sinners, no, no. Little children are not born.

  277. Sinners. Yes they are.

  278. It's in our DNA. I'm not saying that little

  279. children are born murderers, even though it's in their DNA to

  280. be that, but it is in our DNA, it is in our very nature to hate

  281. God. So they imagine a vain thing,

  282. it's a useless cause they actually believe that they can

  283. win against God. And speaking of compassion, It

  284. actually makes me sad or compassionate or feel sorry for

  285. those that are doing this because Bible says that we will

  286. bow before God. If that means if it means we

  287. will that doesn't mean all are going to come to Christ.

  288. It's just a matter of time. It means you will either bow

  289. before the king because he's broken, both your legs and you

  290. have no choice or you will willingly bow before the king.

  291. It's a vain thing for them to think that they have a choice

  292. but to Bow before God they do here on this Earth but at the

  293. time will come. When they will bow before God.

  294. Now this is important also Ephesians chapter 2 verses 1

    Ephesians 2:1–3

  295. through 3 and you're more than welcome to Turn to any of these

  296. I wrote them down because of the time for me to get to them.

  297. I don't want to take that waste that time but I wrote them all

  298. down Ephesians chapter 2, verses 1 through 3 though says and you

    Ephesians 2:1–3

  299. hath he quickened, what does the word quick and mean Made Alive

  300. you hath. He made alive who were dead in

  301. trespasses and sins wherein in time past, ye walked.

  302. According to the course of this world, you walked according to

  303. the course of this world. What does that mean you raged

  304. against God to you walked? According to the course of this

  305. world according to the prince of the power of the air who is that

  306. Satan the devil you walked, according to the prince of the

  307. power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children

  308. of Disobedience among whom. Also, we all All had our

  309. conversation. That word means lifestyle,

  310. right? We all have that lifestyle in

  311. times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of

  312. the Flesh, and of the mind, and we're by Nature the children of

  313. Wrath, even as others that was us.

  314. Because it's in our DNA and Revelation chapter 16, verse 13

    Revelation 16:13–16

  315. through 16, I'm going to skip through here because there's a

  316. part that I want to hear for they are Well, and I saw three

  317. unclean spirits, like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon

  318. and out of the mouth of the Beast and out of the mouth of

  319. the false prophet for. They are the spirits of Devil's

  320. working miracles, which go forth unto, the kings of the earth,

  321. and of the whole world, to gather them, to battle of that

  322. to the Battle of that. Great day of God almighty.

  323. And he gathered them together into a place called in the

  324. Hebrew tongue. Armageddon, they gather all

  325. these demons came out and gathered all the nations against

  326. God, the Heathen rage. And the imagine a vain thing,

  327. they think that if we can get enough people together enough

  328. people against God, we might be able to beat him.

  329. That's the vein thing that they are Imagine imagining and then

  330. Acts chapter 4 verse 26 says the kings of the earth stood up.

    Acts 4:26

  331. And the rulers were gathered to gather together against the Lord

  332. and against his Christ for of a truth against thy.

  333. Holy Child. Jesus, whom thou Hast anointed

  334. both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles.

  335. And the people of Israel were gathered together for to do

  336. whatsoever, thy hand and thy counsel.

  337. Determined before to be done, which is interesting that verse

  338. got already had that he knew it was going to happen.

  339. They gathered to do. God's will is what that say,

  340. even though they weren't, they didn't know that they were

  341. trying to crush him, the kings of the Earth.

  342. You're stood up and gathered together against the Lord and

  343. against his Christ, sinful man is at war with God, and there's

  344. no way around that. The kings of the earth set

  345. themselves and the rulers. Take counsel together against

  346. the Lord and against his anointed saying, let us break

  347. their bands, asunder and Cast Away their cords from us.

  348. We don't have to follow Bible truth.

  349. We're going to break their bands that they have around us these,

  350. these principles and these laws that govern mankind.

  351. We're going to break. Break the break them away

  352. because if we can do away with God, then then we've beat him.

  353. All right. The second thing is the response

  354. of a holy all-powerful. God in Verses 4 through 6.

  355. He's not threatened by sinful man.

  356. And we see that here in verse 4, he that sitteth in the heavens,

  357. shall laugh? The Lord shall have them in

  358. derision, they then, shall he speak unto them in his wrath and

  359. Vex them in his sore displeasure Yet, have I set my king upon my

  360. Holy Hill of Zion. What does that say?

  361. In verse 4, it's pretty, pretty self-explanatory, but I want you

  362. to think about, if somebody if somebody challenges me and

  363. they're the same size as me and I've never met them before and

  364. they look like they're in pretty good shape and they say, hey, I

  365. want to go outside and have a, I already set up a boxing ring and

  366. we're going to box. I might go as a nervous.

  367. Laugh, right? I don't know this guy and he

  368. might be a lot better than me. That's not what this is.

  369. This isn't a This, laughs, this isn't embarrassed laugh.

  370. This is, this is, this is a laugh.

  371. When Charlie comes to me and says, I want to fight you, and

  372. he's dead serious, right? If you don't know, Charlie, he's

  373. Josh's. Little boy.

  374. I'm gonna fight you because he does that to me.

  375. Let's fight. That's me.

  376. Go Charlie. If he's serious, if he's not

  377. serious, I go. No, no, no, I don't have time

  378. right now. But if he's serious, that's the

  379. laughs God gives here what the entire armies of the entire

  380. world are gathered together against God and he that sitteth

  381. in the heavens shall laughs. The Lord shall have them in

  382. derision to the world. This should be, it should be a

  383. terrifying laughs to them. this is, this is like I what I like

  384. to imagine. It's almost like God is sitting

  385. there writing, you know, or whatever.

  386. Like a person would do and there's this huge Army

  387. Gathering. And finally, somebody says, hey,

  388. you know, there's an army outside and I go and keep on

  389. going, that's almost what this is.

  390. It's just he's not mocking them, but he's completely unworried.

  391. Right. Why is he so unworried?

  392. He that sitteth in the heavens, shall laugh?

  393. The Lord shall have them in derision this, this Rebellion.

  394. In is, is it's a futile effort? And because I was thinking about

  395. this because I was studying this, when the, when the

  396. Superbowl happened is that last week, last week, I think anyway

  397. and I was thinking, you know, it's almost like watching

  398. somebody root for their favorite team when the game already

  399. happened but they have, they haven't seen it yet.

  400. Maybe it's a rerun or a, what do you call it?

  401. A, DVR or whatever. And they haven't seen the game

  402. yet, but I already know the outcome and they're cheering.

  403. Yeah. Yes.

  404. And I know that team loses, right?

  405. That's kind of what this is because God knows the outcome.

  406. In fact, we know the outcome. We're already told what's going

  407. to happen. God wins and still they rage

  408. against God, it's a vain thing and the he that sitteth in the

  409. Heavenly laughs. Because if you would just listen

  410. to what the guys at Mount Victory, Baptist Church or

  411. trying to tell you, you would know it's a futile effort,

  412. you've got to go, you've you're going to buy before the king and

  413. he, laughs And the Lord shall have them in derision, then

  414. shall he speak unto them in his wrath and Vex them in his sore

  415. displeasure? So it's kind of a he laughs, but

  416. then he vexes them in his sore displeasure.

  417. I could not imagine having the King of Kings the god of Heaven

  418. sorely displeased with me. The, the Wrath that would come

  419. from that and we see that in the next few verses.

  420. But, look at verse 6. And I'm kind of sort of getting

  421. my ahead of myself but he can't really you can't really help it

  422. because that is his answer he laughs at them and then God

  423. speaks yet. Have I set my king upon my Holy

  424. Hill of Zion that is his response to the armies Gathering

  425. against him. I've set my king on the hill, on

  426. the Holy Hill of Zion, what does that mean?

  427. Imagine Gathering to war and you think.

  428. Yeah. They're going to come to with

  429. 30,000, but we have 40,000, we've got an advantage and they

  430. come with all the arm. News of the world and you got to

  431. remember, it doesn't matter if they're allies or not, they're

  432. all agreed on one thing. We hate God and this is not

  433. necessarily spiritual armies, this is physical armies.

  434. Raging against the god of Heaven.

  435. They come and they are going. I will read a few verses about

  436. that too, but they come and and they gather together against

  437. God. And that's his answer.

  438. I've set my king upon my Holy Hill of Zion What does that

  439. mean? Then to the world?

  440. Look at Philippians chapter 2 verses 9 9 through 11 it says

    Philippians 2:9

  441. wherefore God hath also highly exalted him and given him a name

  442. which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee,

  443. should bow of things in heaven and things in Earth and things

  444. under the Earth. And that every tongue should

  445. confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, the

  446. Father, it doesn't matter. How loudly or how consistently

  447. the church. Or we as individuals when we're

  448. at work, when we're out and about Josh mentioned that this

  449. morning, it doesn't matter how loudly we Proclaim it sinful

  450. man, still rages against God because they really truly

  451. believe they can win this war. And God tells them that fine.

  452. We'll have a battle and you're going to fight one person.

  453. My king, that's it. You're just going to fight him.

  454. I have set my king upon my Holy Hill of Zion.

  455. And verse 7 is is interesting. So this is the third stanza,

  456. right? And so God answers them with a

  457. laugh. And then sorely displeased at

  458. them. And then he says this is what

  459. I'm going to do is how I'm going to fight you my king on Zion.

  460. Before we get to verse 7 though, how does he fight them?

  461. How does God fight them? How does Jesus fight them

  462. Colossians 2:13 and you being dead in your sins and the

    Colossians 2:13

  463. uncircumcision of your flesh. Flesh hath, he quickened

  464. together with him having forgiven all your trespasses

  465. plotting out, the handwriting of ordinances, that was against us,

  466. which was contrary to us and took it out of the way.

  467. This is how he wins nailing it to his cross verse 15, and

  468. having spoiled principalities and Powers.

  469. He made. Show of them, openly triumphing

  470. over them in it. What is it?

  471. His death on the cross? That's how he beats.

  472. The nation's, the armies of all the nations of the world with

  473. his death on the cross. Now, it makes sense when he says

  474. the preaching of the Cross is foolishness to them that perish.

  475. It is foolish. You're going to beat me by

  476. dying. That's how you're going to win.

  477. That's what he's saying them. I've set my king upon my Holy

  478. Hill of Zion and that's how I defeat the nation's.

  479. And we'll get to that in a minute.

  480. How does he defeat them though then just by dying?

  481. But first Corinthians 1:18 for the preaching of the Cross, is

    1 Corinthians 1:18

  482. to them, that perish foolishness, but unto us, which

  483. are saved. It is the power of God, it is

  484. power, right? He defeats them with power, the

  485. power of the death on the cross. It's it's, it makes no sense to

  486. the world, it is foolishness to them.

  487. That's why they rage thinking they can win, when it's not.

  488. And I have these verses somewhere, hopefully they're

  489. really close, but There we don't fight with carnal weapons,

  490. right? The weapons of our Warfare are

  491. not carnal, we don't come back at them.

  492. Oh yeah. You got that.

  493. I'm going to argue with you about this.

  494. Then I got a better argument than you.

  495. I've been practicing in Bible College.

  496. That's not how we fight. Even though the Bible tells us

  497. to have an answer, we fight with the gospel of the death of

  498. Christ on the cross, and that's how we fight, because that's how

  499. he fought, he's going to destroy the nation's with the death of

  500. his son. Is 120.

  501. Where is the wise? Where is the Scribe?

  502. Where is the disputer of this world?

  503. Hath. Not God.

  504. Made foolish. The wisdom of this world.

  505. And I'm going to start clipping along here.

  506. The irony of all, this is mankind is going to the war to

  507. war with. The only one who is with the

  508. one, who is their only hope of salvation.

  509. Is that my ironic they are fighting with everything they

  510. have to destroy him when he's the only hope they have.

  511. That's why it says they are imagining a vain thing.

  512. This is ridiculous. Why are you doing this?

  513. The one you need to rescue you. You're trying to destroy verses

  514. seven through nine. Nine, this is, I'll just speak

  515. on this short, very, very briefly because we've already

  516. kind of talked about the outcome of this battle was never in

  517. doubt, look at verse 9, Thou shalt break them with a rod of

  518. iron, Thou shalt Dash them with in pieces.

  519. And I didn't even hardly get to this but this is very, very

  520. clearly a Psalm about It's not David because there's so many

  521. other verses and if I come across them all, I'll read them.

  522. But verse 7 I will declare the decree.

  523. So he says I'm going to set my king upon the Holy Hill.

  524. But then verse 7, Thou Art my son this day.

  525. I have I begotten thee. Who is that?

  526. That's Jesus. That's the king he setting on

  527. this hill of Zion, but verse A task of me and I shall give Thee

  528. the Heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost

  529. parts of the Earth for thy possession.

  530. This is, this is what it's going to end up looking like Thou

  531. shalt break them with a rod of iron.

  532. Thou shalt Dash them in pieces like a Potter's vessel you ever

  533. broke a coffee cup, you drop it. On a tile floor it doesn't stand

  534. a chance it shatters and pieces. That's what that's what God

  535. Jesus is going to do to this Army that rages against him

  536. through the death on his, his death on.

  537. Across other break them in pieces, like a Potter's vessel.

  538. Now, I'm coming. This thing's moving all over the

  539. place on me. So the last thing is the last

  540. point. The last stanza verses 10

  541. through 12. What is the Hope then of the

  542. world? What is there?

  543. Hope? Repentance.

  544. That's the only hope that they have without it.

  545. They will be dashed in pieces like a Potter's vessel because

  546. then in verse 10, he says this. So after all of this, this is

  547. I'm the my I set my king on the hill of Zion.

  548. This is my decree. My son can ask of me and I will

  549. give him the Heathen for his inheritance and the uttermost

  550. parts of the Earth for his possession, be wise.

  551. Now, therefore, you Kings these are the same Kings.

  552. He was talking about in verse two, the kings of the earth set

  553. themselves and and the rulers take counsel together against

  554. the Lord and against his anointed be wise now.

  555. Therefore o Kings, I'm telling you, it's a vain thing, it's a

  556. futile effort. Be instructed, ye judges the

  557. Earth. This is the instruction serve

  558. the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.

  559. I was telling my wife last night, Rejoice with trembling,

  560. that's a funny phrase, Rejoice, be happy with trembling.

  561. This is the, this is the god of the universe that you are

  562. dealing with. Be wise, serve him with fear and

  563. rejoice with trembling and then this is the final piece of

  564. advice or piece of. It's not even advise hey take it

  565. or leave it. This is what you can do.

  566. This is your only hope, kiss the son, lest he be angry and you

  567. perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little

  568. blessed are all. They that put their trust in

  569. him. This is, this is the gospel.

  570. Jeremiah, 23:29, is not my word, like, as a fire say, at the

  571. Lord, and a hammer that breaketh The Rock in pieces.

  572. This is how we fight. That's what he means by the

  573. weapons of our Warfare are not carnal.

  574. We are fighting with the gospel message.

  575. His word is like a hammer that breaketh The Rock in pieces.

  576. And so I'm going to finish here with a few few last thoughts.

  577. But the Bible says there's other places.

  578. But the Bible says he is, and he is a terrible, he is terrible.

  579. First Corinthians chapter 6, There we go.

    1 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  580. So, I'm 47 to. I knew that wasn't it.

  581. So, I'm 47 to for the Lord, most high is terrible.

  582. Ladies bad, when our kids are being really bad.

  583. What do we say, you're being terrible or they're terrible?

  584. That's not what this is talking about.

  585. He is terrible. The next phrase says he is a

  586. great king over all the Earth. This is their only hope.

  587. There's a reason he is called the King of Kings and the Lord

  588. of lords, he rules over all of them and he allows them to do

  589. their thing on this Earth. He even allows them to come

  590. against him and assemble their armies against him.

  591. But he's saying in verse 10, he's Thing with them, please be

  592. wise, o, Kings, kiss. The son.

  593. Lest he be angry and you perish from the way.

  594. When his wrath is kindled a little, I mentioned at the

  595. beginning, even a little bit of his wrath and you're done your

  596. ashes, your dust your disintegrated.

  597. First Corinthians chapter 6 verses 9 through 11.

    1 Corinthians 6:9–11

  598. This is important thing to remember know, ye not that the

  599. right unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

  600. Be not deceived. I think, brother, Josh mentioned

  601. this verse this morning neither fornicators nor idolaters nor

  602. adulterers nor effeminate nor abusers of themselves with

  603. mankind, nor thieves, nor Covetous, nor drunkards, nor

  604. revilers nor extortioners. Has shall inherit the kingdom of

  605. God and such were some of you. I think if you can imagine in

  606. your mind, these armies are raging against God.

  607. And if you're watching a video, you might be able to go.

  608. That's me. You were in that Army you were

  609. marching with whatever weapon you had against the king of

  610. Heaven. And he called you.

  611. And you drop those weapons and you come to the king of the

  612. earth. Look blessed are all they that

  613. put their trust in him. He's not saying oh yeah you can

  614. you want to come against me? I'm going to destroy you.

  615. He's saying I will, but be wise. Make this decision right now,

  616. even the kings that are assembling their armies against

  617. him, can drop their weapons and come to him.

  618. We see that in the end of verse 12, blessed are all.

  619. They that put their trust in him.

  620. Go back to 1st Corinthians 6, verse 11 and such were some I

  621. love you. That's how I know I was in that

  622. that Army at one point such were some of you, but you are washed

  623. your Sanctified. You're justified in the name of

  624. the Lord Jesus. And by the spirit of our God,

  625. the only hope we, the world has is repentance to this God,

  626. because of his kit wrath is kindled.

  627. Even a little bit, you'll perish from the earth, you'll be done.

  628. Had a story I was going to get going to tell you, this happened

  629. to me personally in fact I will, but I'm going to shorten it way

  630. up. The reason so this it is a it's

  631. a this is a message of encouragement.

  632. You don't have to be one of the ones that perishes from the way

  633. you can come to him. And be blessed by putting your

  634. trust in him. I was talking to a friend of

  635. mine and I won't mention his name.

  636. Some of you may know him, but he called me one time and he was

  637. talking about all this stuff that's happening in the world

  638. and he said, I think you I think you know there's something not

  639. right but I know what it is. I'm going to tell you the truth

  640. and started into all these different conspiracy theories.

  641. Now, there's a queue and I'm in there.

  642. And I said, brother, I understand all about all the

  643. conspiracy theories and he was like, no, no, no.

  644. I don't think you Stand. America and all the nations,

  645. they're ruled by satanists. I said, does that surprise you?

  646. Satan runs the world. Why would he put a Christian in

  647. charge of Any Nation, right? So he has set up his Kings on

  648. this Earth. That shouldn't surprise us.

  649. But if we get so caught up in fighting with carnal, this

  650. carnal Warfare of. Well, we're going to save our

  651. nation through politics or we're going to save them through these

  652. conspiracy theories. Satan has done exactly what he

  653. his goal is, distract us from telling others about Jesus

  654. Christ, distract us from spreading the gospel, and I read

  655. you one last verse and then we'll be done, Revelation

    Revelation 11:17

  656. chapter 11, verse 17 and 18 saying we give thee, thanks O,

  657. Lord God Almighty Which art and was an art to come because thou

  658. Hast taken to thee thy, great power and Hast.

  659. Reigned, and the nations were angry and thy wrath is come.

  660. And the time of the Dead, that they should be judged.

  661. And that thou shouldst give reward unto the servant by

  662. servants the prophets, and to the Saints.

  663. And to them that fear thy name, small and great and shouldest,

  664. Destroy them, which destroy the Earth.

  665. They're destroying our Earth right now.

  666. And one day he will destroy them.

  667. The time is short, but they can still come to him.

  668. The nation's rage against him, it's a futile effort, it's

  669. pointless, but they can still come to him as we did and we

  670. should be doing everything we can really just talked about

  671. that. This morning, we should be doing

  672. everything we can to bring others with us because we know,

  673. they're their Doom, they're the final outcome and we can be

  674. excited about that. We want to bring everyone, we

  675. can with us. Why do the Heathen rage and the

  676. people imagine a vain thing, the kings of the earth set

  677. themselves and the rulers take counsel together.

  678. He that sitteth in the heavens, shall laugh, but those are the

  679. encouraging versus at the end. Kiss the son, lest he be angry

  680. and you perish from the earth? Blessed are all.

  681. They that put their trust in him.

  682. Let's go ahead and pray. You can stand stand to your

  683. feet. Heads bowed, eyes closed.

  684. And I don't know if this is so much of a convicting message. as

  685. much as it might be, it, I want, I meant it to be encouraging,

  686. but it might even be more so of a Reprioritizing what's what

  687. we're doing with our lives. We're not here to push

  688. conspiracy theories were not here, too.

  689. Fight with politicians again about different policies.

  690. We are here because God rescued us out of that army, that was

  691. raging against him and we're here to help others do the same

  692. thing that we did. And when we get sidetracked from

  693. that, for whatever any reason, whatever it is, when we get

  694. sidetracked from that Satan has won in our lives.

  695. He is winning that battle. Let's reprioritize.

  696. Let's refocus on what it is that we're doing and remember this.

  697. King that We serve, he's a terrible, terrible, God and a

  698. mighty and great King on the earth.

  699. Father, thank you for the Savior - God, I just, I thank you for

  700. your word that it is quick. It's alive.

  701. And it is powerful and I pray that it would work in the hearts

  702. of your people. God, I pray, when we come to

  703. church, we will be looking for things to change.

  704. And got that we would surrender our hearts to you.

  705. Blessed are all they that put their trust in you then we

  706. aren't trying to figure things out on her own and trying to

  707. make things happen. We are putting our trust in you

  708. and leaning not on our own understanding and I pray that we

  709. would do that. God, I pray that you would just

  710. bless your people and I pray that as I know there are some

  711. that are going through tough times in their lives.

  712. I pray that you would help them to put that on you.

  713. They would look to you for the comfort and for the rest for the

  714. piece that they need. In Jesus name, I pray.

  715. Amen.
