  1. A little bit long this morning, but I want you to understand

  2. this morning that God's way still works.

  3. God's way still works. Matthew chapter 28.

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  4. The Bible says this in verse #18 And Jesus came and spake unto

  5. them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

  6. Now without, without his power, without this power, the command

  7. to evangelize the world is impossible.

  8. And yet with that power, it's a mission that's not only

  9. possible, it's it's, it's probable and very likely because

  10. our Lord has given us everything that we need.

  11. Think about who Jesus was talking to in this passage.

  12. He's talking to the disciples, a girl, a little handful of just

  13. unlearned disciples, fishermen, ordinary people, no degrees, no

  14. college, no prestige, no money, no machinery.

  15. And he tells them, I want you to evangelize the nation's.

  16. I want you to go to all the world and preach the gospel.

  17. He says that in verse #19 Go ye therefore, and teach all

  18. nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the

  19. Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all

  20. things whatsoever I have commanded you.

  21. And lo, I am with you all way, even unto the end of the world.

  22. Amen. You think about this.

  23. This is the last words that Jesus Christ spoke before He

  24. went back to heaven. The last words of anything.

  25. You know, you think about people probably, I don't know, think

  26. about what they, what they want their last words to be.

  27. If they have that choice, you know, they're laying on their

  28. deathbed. What am I going to say as my

  29. last words? And I, I don't know if people

  30. think about that or not, but Jesus had plenty of time to

  31. think about what the last words were that he wanted to say

  32. before he went back up to heaven.

  33. And this is what he chose to talk about.

  34. Go and tell people about Jesus Christ, go tell the world, go

  35. evangelize the world and then baptize them and then disciple

  36. them. That's, that's, that's the last

  37. thing he, he chose to give his his his disciples before he

  38. left. It's just this little handful of

  39. people and here they're going to go out and, and, and go against

  40. the, the iron legions of Rome and they're going to go out in

  41. against the sophistication and the intellectualism of Greece.

  42. And they're going to go to the, the, the, the stiff necked

  43. nation of Israel to try to share the message of the gospel with

  44. them. How do you think they felt when

  45. they sent them out to do that? Maybe a little bit like the,

  46. the, the cows that were out in the field one day they were

  47. grazing and they, they looked up and this milk truck went past

  48. that was advertising the dairy that they were a part of and

  49. they read on the side of that truck.

  50. It said pasteurized, homogenized, fortified vitamin

  51. enriched milk from contented cows.

  52. And one of them looked at the other one and said, makes you

  53. feel kind of worthless, doesn't it makes you feel a little bit

  54. inadequate. And that's I think, I think when

  55. we think about this Commission, when we think about what God's

  56. given us to do, we feel inadequate to, to carry out the

  57. Commission of giving the gospel to the entire world.

  58. But that's the Commission that he gave us and and our

  59. deficiency with his sufficiency is all we need.

  60. We don't need anything else, right?

  61. He said, all power is given unto me and that's what we sing

  62. about. Little is much when God is in

  63. it. Our Lord said all power is given

  64. unto me. And so they went.

  65. And the book of Acts really is, is a success story.

  66. And we read the the the story. I love reading through the book

  67. of Acts, but you just see one success after another of them

  68. leading people to Christ and them starting churches and them

  69. doing the work of evangelizing and getting the message of the

  70. gospel out to that lost and dying world.

  71. And those early Christians had something that that swords

  72. couldn't kill. They had something that that the

  73. water couldn't drown, something that that fire couldn't burn,

  74. something that the jails could not hold.

  75. They had a message that was given to them by Jesus Christ

  76. himself to take to the rest of the world.

  77. And they did that. There was no power that seemed

  78. to be able to stand against them because the authority had come

  79. from the Lord Jesus Christ himself.

  80. All power is given unto me, Jesus said, and that's why God's

  81. way still works. He said, Luke chapter 10 and

    Luke 10 chapter mention

  82. verse #3 that he was going to send us out as lambs among

  83. wolves. Boy, I don't know what it would.

  84. Well, I don't know what lamb wants to prance out in front of

  85. a bunch of wolves, but that's what he said.

  86. It's going to be like when we go out with the gospel.

  87. It's going to be lambs among wolves.

  88. But still he told us to go. And it doesn't make logical

  89. sense in a lot of ways, but God's way, going out into the

  90. highways and hedges and compelling them to come in God's

  91. way, doing everything that we can to share the message of the

  92. gospel with the law still works because he gives us the power to

  93. do it. God's way still works.

  94. And that's what I want to talk to you about for just a couple

  95. minutes this morning. Let's have a word of prayer and

  96. then we'll jump into the message.

  97. Father, again, we thank you so much for your goodness to us.

  98. Thank you for an opportunity we have to be here together this

  99. morning. God, I do thank you again for

  100. those who have accepted Christ as their Savior, that they they

  101. know they're on their way to heaven, their sins are forgiven.

  102. And God, I do pray that if there is somebody in here that still

  103. does not have that settled, still doesn't have that taken

  104. care of. God, may you burden their hearts

  105. this morning with their need for you.

  106. We thank you for those who have made that decision.

  107. And we're getting baptized today.

  108. And God, may we just be reminded that the way that you've told us

  109. to do it still works. Modern world, the modern

  110. Christianity tells us today that it doesn't.

  111. We have to have better programs. We have to have better methods,

  112. we have to have better buildings and all these other things in

  113. order to try to get the message of the gospel out.

  114. But God, we know that your way still works because it's your

  115. power that matters. And God, may we be reminded of

  116. that this morning as we go through the message.

  117. May you speak to our hearts and we'll thank you for all you do

  118. for us in Jesus name, Amen. Turn over if you will, the first

    1 Corinthians 3 chapter mention

  119. Corinthians chapter 3. I want you to understand first

  120. of all, that witnessing works. It doesn't always work in the

  121. way that we expect it to work. And I think that's one of the

  122. things that we get discouraged about many times, but we often

  123. go and go and go without seeing results in.

  124. But then God brings in the ones who are willing and ready to be

  125. saved. The Bible says this.

  126. Paul says in First Corinthians chapter 3 and verse #4 For while

    1 Corinthians 3 chapter mention

  127. one saith, I am of Paul, and another I am of Apollos.

  128. Are you not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is

  129. Apollos? But ministers by whom he

  130. believed, even as the Lord gave to every man, I have planted,

  131. Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

  132. So then neither is he that planted anything, neither he

  133. that watereth, but God that giveth the increase.

  134. Now he that planteth, and he that watereth are one.

  135. And every man shall receive his own reward according to his own

  136. labor, for we are laborers together with God.

  137. You're God's husbandry, you're God's building.

  138. There's a lot of times when it seems like we're just spinning

  139. wheels. I think we're going out and

  140. knocking on doors. We're going out and trying to

  141. give out the Bibles. We show up week after week and

  142. we stand out in the heat, in the cold, holding signs and trying

  143. to get people to come in and, and get a Bible so we can have a

  144. opportunity, hopefully an opportunity to share the message

  145. of the gospel with them. And we go on and we knock on

  146. doors and we try to give the message of the gospel to people

  147. and hope for a conversation that we can just just lead them to

  148. Christ, show them what they're missing in their life, show them

  149. that they need a savior. We're not trying to get them to

  150. church as much as we're trying to get them to Christ.

  151. We're not trying to to convert them to some religion as much as

  152. we're trying to get them to realize that they need their own

  153. personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  154. And we knock on doors and get rejected and we hand out cards

  155. and we get rejected from time to time.

  156. And we give them out knowing that not not knowing if

  157. somebody's ever going to look at that card again, not knowing if

  158. they're going to scan the QR code and watch that video.

  159. That'll tell them how they can know for sure that Jesus Christ

  160. is their savior and that they're on their way to heaven.

  161. Galatians chapter 6 and verse 9 says, let us not be weary and

    Galatians 6 chapter mention

  162. well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

  163. I think the problem is in most churches is that people start to

  164. faint before they reap and they give up before the reaping

  165. happens and they quit because it's hard.

  166. It's not easy being a Christian, especially in the day and age

  167. that we're living in today. It's not easy to try to give out

  168. the gospel in a, in a, in a, in a day and age when when most

  169. people are hostile toward the gospel.

  170. But he says in due season you shall reap if you faint not.

  171. I can't help but think that today is a day of reaping.

  172. All those who have been saved in the last couple months is a

  173. reaping. All of those who are getting

  174. baptized today because they know they're saved, it's a reaping.

  175. Some planted some water. God gave the increase.

  176. And if you faint not, you'll reap.

  177. That's why God's way still works.

  178. Witnessing works. That's what I'm here to tell you

  179. this morning. Witnessing works, but also #2

  180. witnessing is wise. Proverbs Chapter 11, If you'll

    Proverbs 11 chapter mention

  181. turn over there, boy, you're dead this morning.

  182. Nobody's awake. Is everybody awake?

  183. Everybody All right. Proverbs Chapter 11, this

    Proverbs 11 chapter mention

  184. morning, witnessing is wise. I don't know if you're feeling

  185. like you're, you're guilty because you're not witnessing or

  186. what, but I know most of you are out here on Saturdays.

  187. Most of you are out there knocking doors and passing out

  188. cards. This ought to be exciting to

  189. you. Proverbs Chapter 11, you know,

    Proverbs 11 chapter mention

  190. to the world, witnessing, as we call it, giving out the message

  191. of the gospel. It's foolishness.

  192. Who are you to project your religion on me?

  193. Who are you to try to tell me that the way that I'm trying to

  194. get to heaven is not right, and that the way that you're telling

  195. me is the only way that's right. Oh, Jesus said I am the way, the

  196. truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father

  197. but by me, so it is the only way to heaven, but I'm not.

  198. We're not just trying to project a religion on you.

  199. We're trying to help you understand that you need Jesus

  200. Christ, and without him you have nothing.

  201. Without him you are nothing. But that's what God's told us to

  202. do. He's given us a Great Commission

  203. that we, I think we use that term so many times we forget, we

  204. don't realize that great is actually an adjective of, of the

  205. Commission that he's given us. It's a Great Commission.

  206. It's a tremendous Commission. It's a wonderful Commission that

  207. he's given to us, but it comes with a lot of responsibility.

  208. Once you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you have a

  209. responsibility to tell other people about Jesus Christ.

  210. And I'll be honest with you, it's not just a responsibility,

  211. it's a burden that God puts on your heart.

  212. Why would you not want to tell other people about Jesus Christ

  213. once you know the truth, that's it.

  214. Reminds me of brother Nitin when he got saved.

  215. They, they, they thought for years and years that because

  216. they had at 18 years old, this is over there in India, 18 years

  217. old, they say, hey, do you believe in Jesus?

  218. Hey, do you, do you, do you accept Jesus Christ?

  219. Yes, I do. All right, well, you can be

  220. baptized and now you're saved because we baptized you.

  221. And for years he thought he was a Christian until he heard the

  222. truth and he realized that it's not about baptism that saves

  223. you. It's not about trying to be a

  224. good person that saves you. It's not about any of those

  225. things that most of the religions of the world are

  226. trying to get you to do. Most of the religions say do,

  227. do, do, do, do. Jesus Christ said it's already

  228. been done. You don't need to do anything

  229. else. He's already done everything

  230. that needed to be taken care of, but Ninton got saved and he got

  231. such a burden for his family, said, If I wasn't saved, and

  232. that means most of my family back home in India is not saved

  233. either. I've got to tell them.

  234. And obviously, you know, God worked it out perfectly.

  235. And, and we had a few years to train him and he went back and

  236. he started the church and they had they had the service today

  237. again at their church. But before he went back, by the

  238. time he went back, he had 75 people every single week that

  239. were on a Zoom call that he was preaching to and trying to share

  240. the gospel with. And many of those in his family

  241. and many of his friends in the area that he grew up in have

  242. gotten saved because God put such a burden on his heart.

  243. He said, if, if, if I'm not saved, if I wasn't saved, and I

  244. know I am now, then how can I not tell other people about

  245. Jesus Christ? And that ought to be the same

  246. burden that we have. He's given us a tremendous

  247. Commission. He said that when we seek to

  248. follow that Commission, we're wise.

  249. The Bible says this in Proverbs Chapter 11 and verse #30 The

    Proverbs 11 chapter mention

  250. fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.

  251. And he that winneth souls is wise.

  252. That's where that term soul winning comes from.

  253. He that winneth souls is wise. And I hear people ask from time

  254. to time, are the heathens lost if they don't hear the gospel?

  255. And I want to turn to them and ask, are we even saved if we're

  256. not trying to share the gospel with them?

  257. Why would we not be doing everything we can to give them

  258. the message of the gospel? Suppose somebody were to offer

  259. you $1000 for every person that you seriously tried to lead to

  260. Christ. Would you do it more than you do

  261. now? If somebody were to give you

  262. $1000 for everybody that you sat down with and took the Bible and

  263. shared the message of the gospel with for $1000, would you do it?

  264. Or let's raise it and say it's $10,000 for every person that

  265. you set and share the gospel with.

  266. You think you'd share the gospel with more people?

  267. And I think you understand where I'm going with it.

  268. Are you willing to do for money what you're not willing to do

  269. because you love Christ and because he gave you salvation?

  270. Oh, it just shows you where our priorities are at.

  271. Oh, if you give me $10,000, I'll tell anybody about Christ.

  272. Hey, he died to save you. He gave his life for you.

  273. He's given you eternal life. He's given you a home in heaven.

  274. Why would you be willing to do something for $10,000 when you

  275. wouldn't even be willing to do it for him when he gave you

  276. everything? Man, that ought to be convicting

  277. to us. Be wise.

  278. Share the gospel while you still can.

  279. Turn over, if you will, to Daniel chapter 12.

    Daniel 12 chapter mention

  280. I want to give you the last point this morning.

  281. Witnessing works. Witnessing is wise, but I want

  282. you to understand this. Lastly, witnessing is worth it.

  283. Witnessing is worth it. I want you to know this this

  284. morning. It pays to serve Jesus Christ.

  285. Is it difficult? Yes, sometimes.

  286. Is it embarrassing? Yes, sometimes.

  287. Does it take you out of your comfort zone?

  288. For most people, yes, it takes you out of your comfort zone,

  289. but it's worth it. And I could preach several

  290. messages about this, but I want to just show you a couple verses

  291. before we close this morning. In Daniel chapter 12 and verse

    Daniel 12 chapter mention

  292. #3 the Bible says, And they that be wise shall shine as the

  293. brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to

  294. righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

  295. Hey, you want to do something that's going to be remembered

  296. for all of eternity? Turn somebody to righteousness.

  297. Lead somebody to Christ, show them how they can be saved.

  298. They that should they that they that be wise shall shine as the

  299. brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to

  300. righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

  301. Turn over to Psalm 5 one last verse Psalm 5.

  302. We started a new way of reading the Bible with, with my family

  303. and, and we're, we just started again in August or sorry, the

  304. beginning actually just last week, last week we started, but

  305. I printed this out. There's a, there's a little, a

  306. Bible reading app or not even an app, but like a little Bible

  307. reading website. You can set it up to read it

  308. however you want to. We decided that we're going to

  309. read the Bible through in a year chronologically based in the

  310. order of when, you know, when all these events actually took

  311. place. And it's very interesting.

  312. But we also added a Psalm of the day and Psalm 5 was the one that

  313. we read the other day. And this, these verses really

  314. stuck out to me. Verse #11 But let all those that

  315. put their trust in thee rejoice, Let them ever shout for joy,

  316. because thou defendest them. Let them also that love thy name

  317. be joyful in Thee. For thou Lord wilt bless the

  318. righteous with favor. Wilt thou compass him as with a

  319. shield? Can you think of anything that's

  320. more valuable than that? Can you think of anything?

  321. You can't pay enough to ever be able to buy something like that.

  322. You can only have that by following God's way.

  323. God's way still works. The Great Commission still

  324. works. There are still billions of

  325. souls waiting to be given the gospel.

  326. The Great Commission is still in effect today.

  327. He gave it to those disciples all of those years ago, but he

  328. gave it to us. It was for us as Christians.

  329. There are still people at your work that need to hear the

  330. gospel. There are still people in your

  331. family that need to hear the gospel.

  332. There are still people on your street in your neighborhood that

  333. need to hear the gospel. Sharing the gospel with them is

  334. still worth it. It's still worth it.

  335. I heard a story about a man whose name was Doctor Broadus.

  336. And when he was a little boy in a, in a, in a, in the town that

  337. he grew up in, he was led to Christ in a, in a message.

  338. And he immediately got a burden for his little friend that went

  339. to church with him. And he's started to try to share

  340. the gospel with that little friend.

  341. And he said, once you, once you accept Christ the way that I

  342. did, little, little redheaded freckleface kid.

  343. And that kid's name was John. And he said, perhaps at some

  344. point I'll accept Christ as my Savior.

  345. Well, it was about 6-8 months later and he was sitting in a

  346. service and he heard the message of the Gospel very plain.

  347. Then he went forward and this little boy accepted Christ as

  348. his Savior. And as soon as he accepted

  349. Christ, he walked across that auditorium to where Doctor

  350. Broadus as a, as a little boy was sitting.

  351. And he walked up to him and he grabbed his hand and he said, I

  352. thank you John. I thank you, John.

  353. Well, Doctor Broadus obviously grew up to become, he left that

  354. little town. He became a great scholar,

  355. became a theologian and a theological college president

  356. and and obviously went on to do very good things as as far as it

  357. related to the word of God. But every summer he would go

  358. back home almost without fail. He would go back home to visit

  359. that little church that he grew up in.

  360. And every time he went back home, that little red haired

  361. farmer dressed in his overall sitting there in the church

  362. would come over to him and say, I thank you John.

  363. I thank you John. I never forget, John, I never

  364. forget. And Doctor Broadus, many years

  365. later, as he was laying on his deathbed with his family around

  366. him, I said, many people think about the last words they're

  367. going to say. I don't know if he thought about

  368. those words ahead of time, but this is what he said as he lay

  369. there dying, He said, I'd rather think the sound sweetest to my

  370. ears in heaven, next to the welcome of him whom, having not

  371. seen I have loved and tried to serve, will be the welcome of

  372. John Jones as he'll thrust out his great hand and say, howdy,

  373. John. Thank you, John.

  374. One day it'll be worth it all. God's way still works.

  375. Witnessing still works. Witnessing is wise and

  376. witnessing is worth it. Don't miss the chance to share

  377. the gospel. Don't, don't pass up on the

  378. opportunities that you have to give the message of the gospel

  379. out. Don't miss an opportunity to be

  380. here on Saturday when we go out and try to get the gospel out.

  381. We only have a short window left.

  382. If God tarries, if everything continues the way that it's

  383. going, we don't have a long time before Christ comes back.

  384. We need to use every opportunity that we have.

  385. It still works. God's way still works, and we'll

  386. find that out this morning as we'll see in just a few minutes

  387. that people are still getting saved.

  388. God's still in the soul saving business and I'm so glad that He

  389. is. Once you bite your head and

  390. close your eyes with me, we're going to have a word of prayer.

  391. Father, again, we thank you so much for your goodness to us.

  392. We thank you for the opportunity that we have to be here in this

  393. service this morning. God, may you use the service in

  394. our hearts. May you use us to share the

  395. message of the gospel while we have the opportunity to do it.

  396. God, break our hearts for those that we know that are lost and

  397. dying without you. God, I pray that if there is

  398. somebody in here that does not know for sure that they're

  399. saved, that they'd get that settled today.

  400. So they can go out and be a witness for you as well.

  401. But God, we thank you that you've given us not only the

  402. way, but that you give us your power to do it.

  403. And God, may we be convinced that your way is still the best

  404. way. May we continue to do it with

  405. the time that we have until you come back or until you take us

  406. home. Convict us.

  407. God, please help us to be what you need us to be again, for all

  408. you do for us in Jesus name, Amen.
