  1. it's been humbling and refreshing

  2. to put ourselves under one psalm each week.

  3. Amen.

  4. And so the psalm for today is Psalm 13.

  5. For the choir director, another psalm of David.

  6. I want to give you something to listen for

  7. as I read our sermon text for today.

  8. I want you to figure out who it is

  9. in David's life, from what you know,

  10. that is most likely causing him this severe pain.

  11. As I prepared and tried to understand the context

  12. and our best guesses at David's context,

  13. there are two men in David's life

  14. who inflicted the most intense personal pain on David.

  15. One was early in his life,

  16. and you know who that was, who was it?

  17. King Saul.

  18. In the psalms where David is bold about his righteousness

  19. and the vileness of men within Israel,

  20. that's a very likely guess that Saul is the one causing this deep personal pain.

  21. But much later in David's life,

  22. when he's an old man,

  23. after he sinned,

  24. he committed the sin with Bathsheba.

  25. He neglected to use his office as king to execute justice on his own son.

  26. Another son of his led a rebellion from within Jerusalem against David.

  27. Do you remember his name?

  28. Absalom.

  29. So as we're reading Psalm 13,

  30. try to decide from the tone

  31. and the way David talks about his own standing before God,

  32. do you think it's earlier in his life or later in his life?

  33. As I read our sermon text,

  34. we read it receiving it as God's inspired, inerrant, infallible, clear, and sufficient word.

  35. It's God's very own word for you, his people.

  36. When I'm done reading, I'll say this is the word of God.

  37. If you receive it that way, please respond with confidence.

  38. Thanks be to God.

  39. Psalm 13.

  40. For the choir director, a Psalm of David.

  41. How long, O Lord, will you forget me forever?

  42. How long will you hide your face from me?

  43. How long will I store up anxious concerns within me?

  44. Agony in my mind every day?

  45. How long will my enemy dominate or be exalted over me?

  46. Verse 3.

  47. Consider me and answer, Lord my God.

  48. Restore brightness to my eyes,

  49. otherwise I will sleep in death.

  50. My enemy will say, I have triumphed over him,

  51. and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

  52. Verse 5.

  53. But I have trusted in your faithful or steadfast love.

  54. My heart will rejoice in your deliverance.

  55. I will sing to the Lord because he has treated me generously.

  56. This is the word of God.

  57. Amen.

  58. Thanks be to God.

  59. You may be seated.

  60. The grass withers and the flower fades,

  61. but the word of the Lord endures forever.

  62. Amen.

  63. Let's pray.

  64. Amen.

  65. Amen.

  66. Amen.

  67. Amen.

  68. Amen.

  69. Amen.

  70. Amen.

  71. Amen.

  72. Amen.

  73. Amen.

  74. Amen.

  75. Amen.

  76. Amen.

  77. Amen.

  78. Amen.

  79. Amen.

  80. Amen.

  81. Amen.

  82. Amen.

  83. Amen.

  84. Amen.

  85. Amen.

  86. to new life that bears fruit.

  87. We pray that you will do all of this, Lord,

  88. in your timing,

  89. according to the means that you have ordained

  90. for your people.

  91. For your glory alone we ask.

  92. Amen.

  93. Imagine that it's your first day on a new job.

  94. You're working in the emergency room.

  95. You've donned your PPE.

  96. You put on your personal protective equipment.

  97. And you see the fire lights coming

  98. and the EMTs rush this person

  99. on a cot with wheels through the doors.

  100. And you just hear more experienced staff say,

  101. this one is probably not going to make it.

  102. The charge nurse does some triage quickly,

  103. sends this patient right on through to the doctor.

  104. And you're amazed at watching the doctor

  105. take these steps.

  106. Diagnosing,

  107. providing a swift, intense treatment,

  108. stitching up layer of layer of tissue,

  109. taking all the steps and precautions

  110. so that infection won't develop inside,

  111. and then programming out

  112. what are all the steps

  113. to the deepest level of healing

  114. and rehabilitation.

  115. There was an old pastor

  116. that lived in the 4th century,

  117. so the 300s,

  118. named John Chrysostom.

  119. And he used a wonderful metaphor

  120. about the church

  121. that shows the influence

  122. of Christ on the apostles

  123. and the tone that set

  124. for hundreds of years,

  125. and it should be the tone

  126. of every generation.

  127. And it's this.

  128. Chrysostom said,

  129. the church is not a courtroom for souls.

  130. It's a hospital for souls.

  131. Amen?

  132. The church,

  133. you and me,

  134. we're here as patients

  135. that God has healed

  136. and he's healing and rehabilitating,

  137. and he brings in more sick

  138. and wounded souls

  139. into his hospital.

  140. And we get to be a very small part of that

  141. and watch him,

  142. the great physician,

  143. work on one soul after the other.

  144. And bear witness,

  145. great is his faithfulness

  146. for you,

  147. for you,

  148. for you,

  149. for you.

  150. Great is his faithfulness.

  151. In Psalm 13,

  152. David is the patient.

  153. He comes in

  154. and the description,

  155. it's a wounded,

  156. a severely wounded man.

  157. He's not wounded on the body this time.

  158. I think he's old.

  159. He's contrite.

  160. He's aware of God's

  161. abounding grace to him.

  162. And he's conflicted internally,

  163. probably because he still is wrestling

  164. with his own guilt.

  165. And he's a wounded soul

  166. that needs the doctor to heal him.

  167. And so that's my invitation to you

  168. this morning

  169. as we walk through Psalm 13.

  170. Let's watch God work.

  171. Let's see how God heals

  172. a wounded soul.

  173. Number one,

  174. symptoms of a severely wounded soul.

  175. Symptoms of a severely wounded soul.

  176. Verses two and three.

  177. It's a big word.

  178. So kids,

  179. what is a symptom?

  180. It's a sign,

  181. something we can see

  182. that's pointing to something.

  183. And it's a sign of illness,

  184. a manifestation of a problem,

  185. an ailment,

  186. a malady,

  187. or a disorder.

  188. Something that needs fixing.

  189. It needs treatment.

  190. Look at verse two.

  191. David cries out,

  192. how long must I take counsel in my soul

  193. and have sorrow in my heart all the day?

  194. David is deeply cut.

  195. Have you been deeply cut before in your life?

  196. You can only be deeply cut

  197. by those about whom you care deeply,

  198. those whom you have loved deeply.

  199. They're the ones who can cut so deeply.

  200. So those you know best

  201. and those who know you best

  202. are the ones positioned

  203. to make you hurt the worst.

  204. In David's heart,

  205. as every father here knows,

  206. he had to have been full of joy

  207. watching Absalom grow.

  208. As Absalom learned to talk

  209. and take a few steps,

  210. eventually grow up

  211. and learn to ride a horse,

  212. what a joy that brings a father.

  213. Parents feel that the days go too fast

  214. with their little ones.

  215. But now David says,

  216. how long must I have sorrow in my heart?

  217. All the day.

  218. David has been deeply cut

  219. by someone within his own family.

  220. In verse 2 he says,

  221. how long must I take counsel in my soul?

  222. So David as king,

  223. he's got councilmen,

  224. he's got generals and financial advisors

  225. and all kinds of counsel

  226. about running an empire.

  227. That's not what he's talking about in this case.

  228. It has nothing to do with

  229. the outward blessings he's looking for.

  230. He is cut on the inside.

  231. And he's taking counsel with his own soul.

  232. You're taking counsel with your own soul

  233. when you feel stuck.

  234. In your mind, in your heart, your spirit,

  235. you're spinning.

  236. You picture a tire in the mud

  237. or snow where it's not even getting traction,

  238. it's just spinning.

  239. There's nothing for it to grip onto,

  240. to move you out of that.

  241. He's consumed by the complications

  242. of this conflict.

  243. If, in fact,

  244. Psalms 13 comes at the end of David's life

  245. because he says,

  246. Lord, you have dealt bountifully with me.

  247. Then David, at this point,

  248. had lost his moral high ground.

  249. He couldn't be taken seriously

  250. by anyone in the kingdom.

  251. He had disqualified himself

  252. as a spiritual leader.

  253. His sin was horrible,

  254. hurtful,

  255. and public.

  256. To be more specific,

  257. David's firstborn son,

  258. who was the crown prince,

  259. the one who was supposed to become

  260. the next king of Israel,

  261. had violated

  262. Absalom's sister, Tamar.

  263. From Absalom's perspective,

  264. David did nothing about it.

  265. So Absalom goes to the gates

  266. and stirs up others to say,

  267. if I were king,

  268. I would deal justly.

  269. I would do everything

  270. that my dad's done wrong correctly.

  271. And David is taking counsel

  272. in his own soul.

  273. He's consumed

  274. because this is complicated.

  275. There's no easy way out of this one.

  276. In verse 3,

  277. we have Hebrew poetry

  278. that's concise,

  279. so I don't want to read more into it

  280. that's there.

  281. But in verse 3,

  282. he says,

  283. Light up my eyes,

  284. Lord,

  285. lest I sleep,

  286. the sleep of death.

  287. Lord,

  288. my soul

  289. is going to go to sleep.

  290. I'm going to die.

  291. Maybe he's contemplating,

  292. how can I even escape this situation?

  293. And if I can't escape this in body,

  294. maybe my soul can escape my body.

  295. I can't take it any longer.

  296. How long,

  297. oh Lord?

  298. These are symptoms

  299. of a severely wounded soul.

  300. How can a severely wounded soul

  301. get out of that?

  302. What makes it even more complicated

  303. is being wounded so deeply,

  304. it changes how you feel

  305. about two different parties.

  306. How you feel about God changes,

  307. and how you feel toward your abusers

  308. also changes.

  309. Notice how a severely wounded soul

  310. in Psalm 13

  311. feels toward God.

  312. You feel like God

  313. is making you endure

  314. more than you can bear.

  315. He says,

  316. How long,

  317. oh Lord?

  318. You feel like God

  319. does not care

  320. that you continue to suffer.

  321. In verse 1 again,

  322. Will you forget me forever?

  323. God,

  324. it feels like you have forgotten me

  325. right now.

  326. Are you going to never bring me

  327. back into your mind

  328. and do something?

  329. You feel like God

  330. has made himself

  331. distant from you.

  332. Verse 1 again,

  333. How long will you hide

  334. your face from me?

  335. And you feel like God,

  336. if he is good,

  337. then he must be powerless.

  338. In verse 3 he says,

  339. Consider,

  340. look at my situation, God,

  341. and answer me.

  342. Because if you really look

  343. at what I'm in right now

  344. and consider this,

  345. how could you not act?

  346. So if you are good

  347. and you're considering this,

  348. then act.

  349. If you don't act,

  350. I'm going to feel like

  351. you're powerless.

  352. A severely wounded soul,

  353. it's changed

  354. in the way you feel about God.

  355. And also,

  356. a severely wounded soul

  357. has strong,

  358. intense feelings

  359. that you can't shake

  360. about the one

  361. who is hurting you

  362. or who has hurt you.

  363. a severely wounded soul

  364. feels differently

  365. toward those enemies.

  366. He says,

  367. It's like they've taken

  368. a God-like place

  369. over my mind.

  370. They're above me.

  371. In verse 2,

  372. How long shall my enemy

  373. be exalted over me?

  374. To be exalted,

  375. that's the place of God.

  376. And they have pushed me

  377. so low with their power.

  378. They've taken

  379. a God-like place

  380. in my mind,

  381. in my heart.

  382. It's consuming

  383. all my thoughts.

  384. He's concerned

  385. with what

  386. that abuser

  387. or that enemy

  388. will say

  389. or think about him.

  390. In verse 4,

  391. he says,

  392. Answer me,

  393. O Lord,

  394. my God,

  395. lest my enemy say

  396. I have prevailed

  397. over him.

  398. That's the worst thing

  399. that could happen.

  400. They'll brag

  401. about this position

  402. they've got over me.

  403. They've got more power

  404. and they're going

  405. to brag about it.

  406. Obsessing,

  407. thinking about

  408. how that person

  409. is going to talk

  410. about them.

  411. And in verse 4,

  412. he says,

  413. Lest my foes rejoice

  414. because I am shaken.

  415. His main reason

  416. for wanting God

  417. to act,

  418. to bring revenge,

  419. it seems to be

  420. to protect

  421. his own pride.

  422. He's been wounded.

  423. He's felt

  424. the injustice.

  425. And he wants

  426. to protect

  427. his own pride

  428. and so he's calling

  429. on God

  430. because to be wounded

  431. in this way,

  432. it changes how you feel

  433. about the enemy.

  434. Well,

  435. we see a turn

  436. in verse 5.

  437. What's the first word

  438. in verse 5

  439. in your translation

  440. of God's word?

  441. But,

  442. but I have trusted

  443. in your steadfast love.

  444. We don't get

  445. more context,

  446. we don't get more hints

  447. of how this came about,

  448. but we do see

  449. another safe center

  450. bearing witness.

  451. When I was

  452. so severely wounded,

  453. God caused me

  454. once again

  455. to trust

  456. in his

  457. steadfast love.

  458. Lord,

  459. I feel like

  460. you are making me

  461. endure

  462. more than I can bear,

  463. but I am trusting

  464. in your steadfast love.

  465. are you needing

  466. some healing?

  467. Are you needing

  468. God

  469. to heal you

  470. in a deeper way

  471. to undo

  472. some of the wounds

  473. you've had to suffer

  474. in your life

  475. with the sin

  476. all around us?

  477. All of that suffering

  478. was his providence

  479. for you

  480. so that he can

  481. heal you

  482. and you can bear witness

  483. of his steadfast love.

  484. 1 Corinthians 10,

  485. 13,

  486. God is faithful.

  487. He is true

  488. to who he is

  489. and he will not

  490. let you be tried

  491. or tested

  492. beyond what you can bear,

  493. but when you are tested,

  494. he will also provide

  495. a way out

  496. so that you can

  497. stand up

  498. under the testing.

  499. In Psalm 13,

  500. it's like David

  501. was praying,

  502. Lord,

  503. I feel

  504. that you don't care

  505. whether I continue

  506. to suffer,

  507. but I am trusting

  508. in your steadfast love.

  509. We see this

  510. steadfast love

  511. in Hebrews 2,

  512. 18,

  513. how our Lord Jesus Christ,

  514. he suffered,

  515. was tried,

  516. and so he is able

  517. to help those

  518. who are tried now.

  519. In Hebrews 13,

  520. 12,

  521. our Lord Jesus Christ

  522. was taken to suffer

  523. outside of the gate

  524. so that he might

  525. sanctify you,

  526. his people,

  527. through his own blood.

  528. Lord,

  529. Lord,

  530. I feel like

  531. you made yourself

  532. distant from me,

  533. you've hidden

  534. your face from me,

  535. that's how it feels,

  536. but I am trusting

  537. in your steadfast love.

  538. You,

  539. Lord,

  540. in the person

  541. of the Son,

  542. you took on

  543. the role of mediator,

  544. you accomplished

  545. what your own

  546. justice requires,

  547. and now as representative

  548. of your people,

  549. you turn around

  550. and you mediate

  551. grace,

  552. the grace of God

  553. to me.

  554. Our Lord Jesus

  555. stands like the

  556. high priest in heaven

  557. and he blesses you.

  558. In the words of

  559. Numbers 6,

  560. he blesses you

  561. for God to bless you

  562. and keep you

  563. and make his face

  564. to shine upon you

  565. and be gracious to you

  566. and that God will lift

  567. up his countenance

  568. upon you

  569. and give you

  570. his own peace.

  571. So trust in his

  572. steadfast love.

  573. David cries out,

  574. Lord,

  575. it feels like

  576. if you are good,

  577. then you are powerless,

  578. but I am trusting

  579. in your steadfast love.

  580. 2 Thessalonians 1,

  581. 8 and 9,

  582. God one day

  583. will punish

  584. all those

  585. who don't know him,

  586. not for your pride

  587. and mine,

  588. but he will do it

  589. for his own glory.

  590. All those who reject

  591. the good news

  592. of Jesus Christ,

  593. they will pay

  594. the penalty,

  595. which is

  596. eternal destruction.

  597. destruction.

  598. And 2 Thessalonians

  599. says that this

  600. eternal destruction,

  601. it comes from

  602. the very face

  603. of the Lord

  604. and from the glory

  605. of his might.

  606. That's how God

  607. healed this

  608. severely wounded soul.

  609. And when a soul

  610. is healed

  611. by the grace of God,

  612. it changes how

  613. you feel

  614. toward God.

  615. How does a healed

  616. soul feel

  617. toward God?

  618. In the words

  619. of Psalm 13.

  620. Look at verse 6.

  621. I will sing

  622. to the Lord.

  623. He was crying out,

  624. desperate,

  625. lamenting,

  626. and now he's

  627. singing to the Lord.

  628. And why?

  629. Verse 6,

  630. because God

  631. has dealt

  632. bountifully,

  633. abundantly,

  634. graciously

  635. with me.

  636. David had

  637. prayed,

  638. how long

  639. will you

  640. hide your

  641. face?

  642. And God

  643. has shown him,

  644. David,

  645. if I were

  646. to approach

  647. you

  648. in all

  649. the splendor

  650. of my holiness

  651. and my glory,

  652. by the gracious

  653. blood of the

  654. covenant,

  655. without that

  656. blood to protect

  657. you,

  658. you'd be like

  659. a snowflake

  660. thrown onto

  661. a massive

  662. bonfire.

  663. You would

  664. melt

  665. before the

  666. face of God.

  667. I've not

  668. hidden my

  669. face from

  670. you,

  671. David.

  672. I've covered

  673. you with

  674. my grace.

  675. You don't

  676. want what

  677. you deserve.

  678. I don't

  679. want what

  680. I deserve.

  681. But God,

  682. he deals

  683. abundantly,

  684. graciously,

  685. bountifully with

  686. his people.

  687. And it

  688. changes how

  689. we feel.

  690. We sing

  691. to one

  692. another,

  693. come,

  694. oh sinner,

  695. come and

  696. mourn,

  697. for he calls

  698. your sin

  699. his own.

  700. Do you

  701. feel the

  702. weight of

  703. justice

  704. served?

  705. He suffered

  706. the wrath

  707. that you

  708. deserve.

  709. So David

  710. says,

  711. I trust

  712. in your

  713. steadfast

  714. love.

  715. I do

  716. long for

  717. your presence,

  718. for your

  719. deliverance,

  720. your free,

  721. gracious face

  722. shining on

  723. me.

  724. I long

  725. for that.

  726. Your

  727. countenance

  728. lifted up

  729. and welcoming

  730. me.

  731. And the

  732. Lord heals

  733. him with

  734. that cry.

  735. would you

  736. turn a few

  737. pages forward

  738. to Psalm

    Psalms 30:2

  739. 30,

  740. verse 2.

  741. Psalm

    Psalms 30:2

  742. 30,

  743. verse 2.

  744. Another

  745. Psalm of

  746. David.

  747. A similar

  748. cry coming

  749. from his

  750. lips.

  751. And listen

  752. to his

  753. testimony in

  754. Psalm 30,

    Psalms 30:2

  755. verse 2.

  756. Oh Lord,

  757. my God,

  758. I cried

  759. to you

  760. for help

  761. and you

  762. have

  763. healed me.

  764. Oh Lord,

  765. my God,

  766. you have

  767. healed me.

  768. If this

  769. resonates with

  770. you, I

  771. encourage you

  772. to memorize

  773. that short,

  774. powerful little

  775. verse.

  776. When we

  777. memorize God's

  778. word, we

  779. hide it in

  780. our heart.

  781. The spirit

  782. draws it up

  783. in those

  784. moments where

  785. our emotions

  786. are too

  787. weak.

  788. He ministers

  789. it to us

  790. over and

  791. over again.

  792. David said,

  793. my heart

  794. shall rejoice

  795. in your

  796. salvation.

  797. What was

  798. David reflecting

  799. on?

  800. God promised

  801. to save

  802. his people.

  803. God promised

  804. also to

  805. heal his

  806. people.

  807. In Exodus

  808. 15, 26,

  809. God said,

  810. I am

  811. Yahweh

  812. who heals

  813. you.

  814. Do you

  815. want to know

  816. who is this

  817. God who's

  818. redeeming you

  819. from slavery

  820. to be his

  821. people?

  822. It's the

  823. God who

  824. heals you.

  825. When our

  826. Lord Jesus

  827. Christ came

  828. to the

  829. earth, God

  830. the Son took

  831. on flesh.

  832. We read in

  833. the four

  834. Gospels of

  835. 37 miracles.

  836. And John

  837. says there's

  838. so many more

  839. that can't

  840. even be

  841. recorded.

  842. 24, no,

  843. 26 of the

  844. 37 miracles

  845. recorded in

  846. the four

  847. Gospels are

  848. God healing

  849. people.

  850. Our Lord

  851. Jesus Christ

  852. healed an

  853. official's

  854. fatally sick

  855. son in

  856. Luke 4.

  857. And he

  858. cleansed the

  859. soul of a

  860. demon-possessed

  861. man in

  862. Mark 1.

  863. To show

  864. us, I

  865. am Yahweh

  866. who heals

  867. you.

  868. Trust in

  869. my steadfast

  870. love.

  871. Our Lord

  872. Jesus Christ

  873. cleansed a

  874. man with

  875. leprosy,

  876. Mark 1.

  877. A man with

  878. a withered

  879. hand, Luke

  880. 6.

  881. And he

  882. healed Peter's

  883. mother-in-law

  884. in Matthew

  885. 8.

  886. To show

  887. us, I

  888. am Yahweh

  889. who heals

  890. you.

  891. Trust in

  892. my steadfast

  893. love.

  894. Our Lord

  895. Jesus Christ,

  896. he healed

  897. the centurion's

  898. paralyzed servant

  899. in Luke

  900. 7.

  901. When the

  902. sun was

  903. setting in

  904. Luke 4,

  905. our Lord

  906. Jesus Christ

  907. healed all

  908. the sick

  909. with various

  910. diseases and

  911. those oppressed

  912. by demons so

  913. that you would

  914. trust in his

  915. steadfast love.

  916. Our Lord

  917. Jesus Christ

  918. healed the

  919. paralytic who

  920. was let down

  921. through the roof

  922. in Mark 2.

  923. to show you,

  924. I am

  925. Yahweh who

  926. heals you.

  927. A widow's

  928. son in Luke

  929. 7,

  930. Jairus'

  931. daughter Luke

  932. 8,

  933. Lazarus in

  934. the tomb,

  935. they were

  936. all already

  937. sleeping the

  938. sleep of

  939. death.

  940. And our

  941. Lord Jesus

  942. Christ lit

  943. up their

  944. eyes.

  945. He brought

  946. them back

  947. to life to

  948. show how

  949. great the

  950. power of

  951. his might.

  952. Our

  953. Lord Jesus

  954. heals.

  955. through the

  956. person of

  957. Jesus Christ

  958. God will

  959. heal you.

  960. He will

  961. heal your

  962. soul.

  963. He will

  964. prepare your

  965. soul for

  966. eternity with

  967. him.

  968. We read in

  969. 1 Peter 2

  970. 23-25

  971. this is

  972. quoting Isaiah

  973. 53-5

  974. how Jesus

  975. Christ himself

  976. bore our

  977. sins in his

  978. body on the

  979. tree that we

  980. might die to

  981. sin and live

  982. to righteousness

  983. by his

  984. wounds you

  985. are healed.

  986. Amen.

  987. Beloved

  988. congregation of

  989. our Lord Jesus

  990. Christ, my

  991. exhortation for

  992. you today is

  993. trust in his

  994. steadfast love.

  995. He is God

  996. who heals

  997. you.

  998. The church is a

  999. hospital for

  1000. souls.

  1001. If you're

  1002. wounded today,

  1003. go to God

  1004. through Jesus

  1005. Christ.

  1006. If your soul

  1007. feels sick

  1008. today, go

  1009. again to God

  1010. through Jesus

  1011. Christ.

  1012. If you need

  1013. deeper and

  1014. deeper healing,

  1015. go to God

  1016. through Christ.

  1017. Trust in his

  1018. steadfast love.

  1019. That's the

  1020. simple message,

  1021. the simple

  1022. melody, that's

  1023. the sound your

  1024. soul needs over

  1025. and over again.

  1026. to illustrate

  1027. this on a super

  1028. simple level, I've

  1029. learned recently

  1030. about a type of

  1031. treatment for deep

  1032. scar tissue called

  1033. shockwave.

  1034. It's a sound, a

  1035. blast, and that

  1036. never changes.

  1037. But it has an

  1038. effect on that scar

  1039. tissue below the

  1040. skin, below the

  1041. surface, and that

  1042. same shockwave, the

  1043. same message, the

  1044. same sound, it

  1045. works over time,

  1046. months, years, but it

  1047. brings about healing

  1048. by God's grace.

  1049. Why would God have

  1050. designed our bodies

  1051. to heal in these

  1052. powerful ways if it

  1053. wasn't to teach us a

  1054. deeper truth that he

  1055. is God who heals

  1056. his people?

  1057. Only God can heal

  1058. your wounded soul.

  1059. Go to God through

  1060. Christ and trust in

  1061. his steadfast love.

  1062. Amen?

  1063. Let's spend some time

  1064. in prayer, receiving

  1065. this truth, and

  1066. praising God for his

  1067. faithfulness.

  1068. Thank you.
