-
Let's dive right in.
-
Amen.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Yes, so we're welcome again.
-
Let's begin from John 14, John chapter 14.
John 14 chapter mention
-
John chapter 14.
John 14 chapter mention
-
On Sunday we started another part in order to answer some questions of a series of messages
-
which we started some, will I say, last year.
-
Let's say a few months, we started it last year.
-
And as I said, the entire series is titled, Issues Around Women's Liberty.
-
And we looked at some issues which we were able to clarify through scriptures, particularly
-
in regards to scripture in 1 Corinthians 14, talking about the woman keeping silent, what
-
it exactly is for saying, it is for beating a woman from speaking in church.
-
We were able to answer that question that that's not what he's talking about.
-
And we were able to come into that conclusion by looking at scriptures from Genesis to Revelation
-
and comparing it with many others.
-
Even though some of the scripture we touched, we will come back to them again because we
-
still have other things to discuss.
-
Like, for example, should a woman cover their head in church?
-
And should a woman wear trousers?
-
We still have those issues to clarify.
-
But all this actually are issues around women's liberty.
-
And for every subject we said, if you must look at it, then you have to look at the entire
-
Bible as a context.
-
That no any topic of scriptures, if you want to really discuss it and know the heart of
-
God, you have to read through the entire Bible.
-
You cannot stay in one portion of the scriptures.
-
Whatever Paul is saying will not be contradicting Peter because it's the same Holy Spirit.
-
And why are we laying this foundation?
-
It is because to come to us to understand that the author of what we call the Old Testament
-
is the same author of what we call the New Testament.
-
And that's what I want to establish.
-
If I can be able to hit that very well into our heads, then we will be able to understand
-
that whatever Paul said will not be different from what Peter said or contradict what Peter
-
said.
-
And will not also be contradicting, actually, what God says through Moses in Genesis.
-
And the whole point there, where you find some seemingly contradiction is because we
-
have not paid attention to read the whole scriptures together.
-
I mean, to look at all those scriptures that appear from Genesis to Revelation.
-
So that's the reason why we're trying to emphasize that for us to come to an understanding of
-
every topic, so we have to read the entire Bible together.
-
And we saw last, on Sunday, last meeting we had, we saw how Jesus actually, not just only
-
that he spoke about it, he demonstrated it and showed to us how in correcting the disciples
-
then about their unbelief in the resurrection or in the death, particularly, not really
-
resurrection because they are confused about the death of Christ.
-
And so he had to begin to mention to them, he said, oh, you fools, the foolish ones,
-
you fools, it's law of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.
-
And he didn't say just prophets.
-
In correcting them, he said prophets.
-
So he didn't stay in one verse of the scriptures.
-
Prophets have spoken.
-
And then verse 26 of that, Luke 24, he said, Ought not Christ to have suffered these things
-
in the Son and to enter into his glory.
-
So what he's trying to say, he's summarizing what the prophets said concerning the Christ
-
that he will suffer and then he will enter his glory.
-
And how did you go about actually explaining all these things to them?
-
He started from Genesis and exactly from Genesis.
-
And we saw how he went there.
-
And verse 27 of that, Luke 24 says, and beginning at Moses and in all the scriptures, right?
-
In all the scriptures, he expounded onto them the things concerning himself.
-
We saw also by the time you read down where, when he made them, because here he was explaining
-
to Cleopas and his companion.
-
And by the time he made them also in a group, verse 44.
-
He tells, he says again, that he also goes to them in the son, in all the scriptures.
-
He said, those things have to happen.
-
They have to be fulfilled.
-
Those things that have been mentioned or prophesied by the law, the prophets and the Psalms.
-
And we saw that the Psalms is not just the book of Psalms, that the Psalms is a collection
-
of books, what is called the writings.
-
And we said the same, what we call the Old Testament today we have is the same that the
-
same books that the Jewish Tanakh have, the Jewish Tanakh.
-
And we say the difference is just some arrangement of books and how they are put together.
-
Why today, modern day, we classify them into different ways in the Jewish Tanakh is a different
-
form of classification, which we saw last time.
-
Okay, so today we will just continue from there.
-
And then there are some few things I need to clarify.
-
And then before we now start the journey, real journey, because there are a lot of things
-
we have to come to that understanding.
-
And as I said, in today's, we're just continuing from what we started on Sunday.
-
What is God's original plan or intention for creating a woman?
-
Because it appears that the culture we're into and this is what actually from the what
-
we call the Old Testament.
-
I mean, don't mind me when I say what we call, I mean, if you're in this church, you understand
-
what I mean always when I say what we call because even though we're going to go back
-
to that teaching again, but we have already established that when we talk about the idea
-
of Old Testament and New Testament, they're not actually books, they're not actually books.
-
If you look at just like we said, how to know that they are not actually books first and
-
foremost is to look at what did Jesus use to teach the gospel.
-
What I just quoted in Luke, you understand, concerning himself, what did he use?
-
So if you call that the message of the gospel or about the death and the resurrection of
-
Jesus is a New Testament, then what did they use to teach that?
-
In the days of the apostles and Jesus, we never had anything we call today the New Testament.
-
But from which text did they use to teach?
-
When the Bible says in Acts chapter two, and they were committed or they dedicated themselves,
-
they are committed to the apostles teachings, what were they using?
-
They were using the one we call Old Testament today.
-
The apostles never call it Old Testament because that was their text.
-
The Jesus never call it the Old Testament because that was his text of teaching.
-
When he said, Lord, I come in the volume of the books that was written concerning me,
-
Hebrews chapter 10, he was referring to these books, Genesis to Malachi.
Hebrews 10 chapter mention
-
So he was not referring to what we call the New Testament today.
-
You understand?
-
So actually that division, if you are not careful, sometimes can be misleading.
-
So not that we can say there is nothing like Old Testament or New Testament.
-
No, there is something that is called Old Testament and there is something that is called
-
New Testament.
-
But there are no books in this time.
-
There are no books because as we saw is the idea of one man's way of, I mean, coming,
-
thinking of coming into relationship with God as a way of unbelief, the way of disobedience,
-
the way of the law in the sun, the way of works.
-
That's the Old Testament.
-
And then the way of faith, the way that we believe in Christ, that's the way of the New
-
Testament.
-
It's not a way of works.
-
It's a way of faith.
-
That's the New Testament.
-
And we're going to explain that in some of our subsequent teachings so that we understand.
-
So I said we should go to John 14.
-
So let's start from John 14 to finish off what we started.
-
I want to just go down to let's say 22.
-
Look at 22, John 14.
-
22.
-
Judas, not his carrier, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself
-
to us and not to the world?
-
And Jesus answered and said to him, if anyone loves me, he will keep my word and my father
-
will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him.
-
He who does not love me does not keep my words and the word which you hear is not mine, but
-
the Father's who sent me.
-
I want you to know that also.
-
The word which you hear is not mine, but my Father's who has sent me.
-
These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
-
But the helper, I want you to know 25.
-
These things have I spoken to you while being present with you.
-
So there are things he has communicated while he was present.
-
And he has noted that those words are not just words that he invented there and then.
-
I want you to know that again, verse 24.
-
There were no words that he just invented.
-
He just created it out of nowhere.
-
No.
-
He was trying to say that those words, you understand, they are of his Father's who sent
-
him.
-
Remember when Paul was talking in 2 Timothy, he was saying that the word which you hear
-
was talking in 2 Timothy, verse 3, verse 16, that all scriptures are given by the inspiration
-
of God.
-
So we are coming to that.
-
But look at verse 25.
-
He says, these things have I spoken to you while being present with you.
-
But the helper, who is the helper, he said the Holy Spirit.
-
So the helper is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send.
-
Because at that moment, the Spirit has not indwell any man.
-
He said, whom the Father will send in my name.
-
That word is not who will send mentioning my name.
-
That's not, you know, sometimes when we see in the name, you know, anywhere in scripture,
-
we just think that he's talking about like in Mark, he said, in my name you will cast
-
out demons.
-
No, he's not saying in the mentioning my name, you will cast out demons.
-
That's not, that's not.
-
So whom the Father will send in my name.
-
He will teach you all things, of course, in the name he's talking about the resurrection,
-
that is, his accomplishment.
-
That's what we say.
-
Name means repetition or accomplishment.
-
So that means the Spirit will not come except Jesus is resurrected.
-
Because that's what he will send in my name means he will send after I have accomplished
-
what I was prophesied to in this time.
-
There is an accomplishment he was to prophesied.
-
That is his name in this time, which also Philippians 2, when you read from verse 5
-
down to I think 12, tells us the name in this time, which is above every other name.
-
Okay.
-
He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to
-
you.
-
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives.
-
Do I give you, let not your heart be troubled, never let it be afraid.
-
Now, there is something we have to clarify, which I started last, what do you call it,
-
last or Sunday last meeting.
-
Now, he said he would teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that
-
I said to you.
-
So while holding this path, come to Luke, I want to show you something.
-
So that means what Jesus is saying that there are things he just said, but he didn't explain
-
them in the sun.
-
Or let's take that for now in the sun.
-
Then when this helper comes, he will bring to their remembrance.
-
Now, I want you to see Luke 24 verse 44.
-
He said, then he said to them, these are the words which I spoke to you while I was still
-
with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses and
-
the prophets and the Psalms concerning me.
-
Which means that by saying these are the words which I spoke to you, remember Luke 24 encounter
-
was an encounter after the resurrection.
-
In Acts chapter 1, it tells us this encounter took 40 days.
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
So I want you to know that.
-
So that means Jesus had been teaching, understand.
-
He taught in several parts and then he told them a lot of things, but they couldn't get
-
it.
-
Even now when he was going over what he told them and then explaining to them from Genesis
-
to Revelation, here and there he has said those things before.
-
You understand?
-
But they didn't understand obviously and that was why they were sad when he died.
-
Because remember what in Matthew 16, after the great confession of faith, will I say,
-
by Peter and then some few verses later and then Jesus was telling them how he would die
-
and Peter said, go for a beat.
-
He called him by the side and said, hey, don't be saying that one now.
-
Why would you say you would die?
-
Understand?
-
And you know the way they put it, but then Jesus said, get behind me Satan.
-
Now you can imagine the person who just mentioned that Jesus Christ is the son of God, but then
-
later on he said, no, you can't die.
-
That means it's something they didn't understand what he was been saying in the son.
-
So although Christ has been mentioning to them, they never understood.
-
And the question is, was Jesus talking about when he used the word that in John chapter
John 14 chapter mention
-
14, when he said, he would teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that
-
I said to you.
-
Was Jesus talking about that they will forget what the Holy Spirit will remind them?
-
Is that what he's saying?
-
That the Holy Spirit will remind them what he said?
-
And there are some few scriptures we can explore to help us with that.
-
Because if you stay in this scripture, it will just mean that Jesus was saying that
-
that they will forget some things, but then the Holy Spirit will come and then give them
-
some remind them what Jesus said, meaning that to recall what Jesus told them.
-
But that is not what he's saying.
-
But then before we go, let me also add a scripture in just move to my John 16.
-
John 16 say also something similar to that.
-
In the son, John 16 verse 12 and 13.
-
Now it added something that makes us to know why Jesus likely is saying that.
-
So that's why we need to take it serious.
-
Now John 16 verse 12 says, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot be a
-
part of them now.
-
If you go to John 14, if you look at 25, you could see something similar like that.
-
25 looks like verse 12 of John 16.
-
Because in John 14 verse 25, we say, these things have I spoken to you while being present
-
with you.
-
So there are things he spoke to them while being present with them.
-
Then verse 26 says, but the helper, you understand that suggests here that what Jesus was saying
-
in the present, then the Holy Spirit will come, you understand, and do something with
-
what he told them somehow in the sun.
-
But then verse 12 said, I still have many things to sell you, you understand, but you
-
cannot be at them now.
-
Wow.
-
So that means they cannot be as some things that Jesus supposed to say.
-
There are many things Jesus ought to say, but he couldn't say them, obviously, because
-
he has already understood that they couldn't be at them.
-
What is that word, be at them now?
-
Okay, when we continue to read verse 13 says, however, when he, the spirit of truth has
-
come, he will guide you into all truth.
-
He will guide you into all truth for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatsoever
-
he hears, he will speak and he will tell you the things to come.
-
So now, now Jesus added another thing, it seems to add, it looks as if this is to add,
-
because you remember, John 14 seems to say as if the Holy Spirit will just make them
-
to remember what he has already told them.
-
But John 16 is coming to as if suggest more, as if to suggest more, you understand.
-
If you just read them by face value, it will as if look like John 14 is saying different
-
thing and John 16 is saying another different thing, understand.
-
So but the first thing we need to clarify is to clarify from John 14 verse 26, what
-
is our word remember or what is it?
-
And remember, we've already done that in some way, that word remember.
-
I want you to just go come back in the same John.
-
You know, that's why we said, sometimes we are patient and read the same book.
-
The answer could be in the same book, the same John have used that word several times.
-
All we need to do is to read through where those words appear, that word remember in
-
that context, in the staff.
-
Let's go back to John chapter two first.
-
That's the first place where I want to note that word remember.
-
Look at John chapter two, verse 19.
-
Jesus answered and said to them.
-
Remember when you go back, you see where the issue started, understand.
-
Was that in the Passover of the Jewish was at hand and Jesus went up to Jerusalem and
-
he found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and the money changers doing business.
-
Verse 15, when he had made a whip of a cord, he dropped them all out of the temple with
-
the sheep and the oxen and pour out the money changers, out the changers' money and overturned
-
the tables.
-
Verse 16, and he said to those who sold those, take these things away.
-
Do not make my father's house a house of merchandise.
-
Verse 17, then his disciples remembered.
-
Please, I want you to know that.
-
His disciples remembered that it is written, zeal for your house has eaten me up.
-
Zeal of his house has eaten me up.
-
I want you to note that word the disciples remember.
-
Now at this point, wait a minute, is he saying that they recall?
-
Is that what they are saying?
-
Because by quoting a scripture, is he just saying that they recall that somewhere, if
-
you say recall, if you are going to put recall as remember, the first thing you need to note
-
is that when that scripture was mentioned, did they mention Jesus there?
-
How did they relate that Jesus, that word, that quotation or prophecy to Christ?
-
Are you with me?
-
Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
-
Because for example, when they said somebody will betray Jesus, did they say Judas?
-
Did they mention and put Judas' name there?
-
So the point I'm trying to say that we have done a lot of prophecies in this text, in
-
the sense that Jesus fulfilled, for example, he brought a call of my son from Egypt, and
-
a virgin shall give birth to him.
-
When those texts were written and there was no name there, mention that.
-
This is exactly Christ.
-
How do we know today that these were prophecies and then Christ came to fulfill them?
-
It's by the Spirit.
-
The Spirit now brought this understanding to us.
-
It is because of the explanation, and then that was when we knew that those prophecies
-
were actually prophecies about the Christ.
-
But in the context originally when those people were mentioning them in the Bible, likely
-
they were not even thinking about Christ.
-
Because like we saw in many other texts, Psalms 22, when he said, my God, my God, why have
-
thou forsaken me?
-
David was saying that because of the trouble he was in.
-
But in the prophetic, he was actually reciting the words of Jesus.
-
And then we saw the words being actually spoken by Jesus on the cross.
-
So the first thing that you begin to raise some, that that might not be, because it wouldn't
-
mean if Jesus' name was attached there, then you would likely say, oh, they remember, there
-
is a place, they say Jesus, he will say about him that he is the zeal of the Lord.
-
This must be a realization only by the Spirit, you understand?
-
An explanation that the Spirit has opened up to open a scripture.
-
Remember we have told us mystery means that it is a truth but not loud.
-
Not that it is hidden.
-
Although today in English when you say something is mysterious, you are just saying that it
-
is not known.
-
It is completely hidden, covered, so to say.
-
We saw that when the Bible writers use the word mystery, they are really talking about
-
something that is written but it is not loud, meaning that it is not, it is silent.
-
That's the point again, you understand?
-
It is silent.
-
Silent doesn't mean it is not there.
-
Silent just means that it is there but it is not spoken loudly, you understand?
-
And then when the Spirit came and then He now took those verses and made them loud and
-
said this is what was written and that's exactly what they meant.
-
These scriptures when Moses said this is a prophet like unto me shall be this, this,
-
this, you understand?
-
He was not talking about raising a child.
-
He was talking about the resurrection.
-
That was by the Spirit they understood.
-
So here He is not talking about recollects, remembering.
-
Now let's continue.
-
So the Jews answered, because you understand again, Father, verse 18, so the Jews answered
-
and said to him, what sign do you show to us since you do these things?
-
You know when you read verse 17 and then you continue, it will look as if verse 17 happened
-
at the time when Jesus, close to the Passover, you understand?
-
Until you read down you understand that verse 17 was something that happened later, you
-
understand?
-
So verse 18, I'll come back to it.
-
So the Jews answered and said to him, what sign do you show to us since you do these
-
things?
-
Jesus answered verse 19 and said to them, destroy these temples in three days.
-
I will raise it up.
-
Then the Jews said, it has taken 46 years to build this temple and will you raise it
-
up in three days?
-
But he was speaking of the temple of his body, Pascha 22, therefore, when he had risen from
-
the dead, his disciples remembered when he has risen from the dead, his disciples remembered.
-
That means that was not what happened there and then.
-
It happened later on when he had risen.
-
They remembered that he had said these to them and they believed the scripture and the
-
word which Jesus had said.
-
Now you will now, by the time you reach this place, you will now understand with me that
-
verse 17 also, they did not remember, which means they did not understand that scripture
-
that said the zeal of your house has eaten me up, they did not understand when the event
-
was happening before his death.
-
I mean, before his death, yes.
-
They understood that when he was zealous and threw away those who were doing merchandise
-
in the temple, they remembered.
-
In other words, they understood that that was a fulfillment of prophecy from that scripture,
-
the zeal for your house has eaten me up.
-
The same way they understood later on that he was not talking about the temple, he was
-
talking about his body.
-
But when did they understand it?
-
They understood it when he had risen in a blanket.
-
No, the spirit of God.
-
We saw how Jesus spent time in the 40 days with them, explaining to them that he told
-
them he will die.
-
And from where did he tell them?
-
He told them from the scriptures, but they never understood it.
-
So that what remembered or remembrance, it means understanding or understand.
-
So come with me to John 12 also.
-
Come with me to John 12.
-
Let me show you another scripture also that help us clarify that.
-
Look at verse 12.
-
The next day, a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was
-
coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him and cried out,
-
O, son of blessed or blessed.
-
I say what to lose that is blessed.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Okay.
-
Blessed.
-
Is he who comes in the name of the law, the king of Israel?
-
Verse 14, then Jesus, when he had found a young donkey, sat on it as it is written,
-
fear not, daughter of Zion.
-
Verse 15, behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's coals.
-
Look at verse 16, all of you, please pay attention.
-
He said his disciples did not understand these things.
-
At what?
-
At first.
-
But when Jesus was glorified, they did what?
-
Then they remembered that these things were written about in him and that they had done
-
these things to him.
-
So you could see that remembered means understanding.
-
They understood.
-
When did they understand?
-
He said, when Jesus was glorified, that was what exactly John 2 was telling us.
-
He said when Jesus had risen, meaning when Jesus had been glorified, they understood
-
that he was not talking about the temple.
-
He was talking about his body.
-
They understood that he was not talking about just throwing people's things.
-
They said, it's not that he was angry.
-
You know, some people say Jesus was angry, you know, and the anger is part of man.
-
Even Jesus was angry.
-
He was like, weep to everybody, brother, that is not anger.
-
The Bible said the zeal of the Lord.
-
You understand?
-
The zeal.
-
Hallelujah.
-
So the point is that you could see that that word remembrance, remembered.
-
This is, we're just here in John, we didn't move out of John.
-
We're just reading.
-
We get to understand that, that word remembered means understanding.
-
Okay, so let's move to John 14 again.
-
Let's read it again.
-
Let's read John 14.
-
Are we together?
-
Are you in John 14?
-
Yes.
-
So read it again.
-
He said, these things have I spoken you while being present with you.
-
Verse 26 now, but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, he will
-
teach you all things.
-
He will teach you all things and bring to your understanding.
-
Oh, did you get what I'm trying to say?
-
And bring to your remembrance, meaning I'm bringing to your understanding all things
-
that I said to you, all things I said to you.
-
Now when you move to 16, chapter 16, you now understand that, ah, that means there is a
-
factor in the revelation of scriptures.
-
And the factor is the Holy Spirit.
-
And so he said, I have still many things to say to you.
-
And besides what Jesus taught, listen, even what Jesus taught, he said they will have
-
understood it.
-
And we saw it when he was teaching about the temple, they never understood.
-
When they saw him actually throwing people that are doing much and nice in the temple,
-
they never understood.
-
So there are plenty of things he taught them.
-
They never understood it.
-
It's very obvious when you read the last part, particularly Luke 24, when you read this.
-
They never understood about his death.
-
They never understood about the prophecy.
-
They never understood so many.
-
And that was why they were angry.
-
In fact, they went and locked themselves because they were afraid of the Jews.
-
So they were not happy that Jesus died.
-
They said, see, all our hope has been dashed.
-
But Jesus had told them not just only that many of the things I have said to you, the
-
Holy Spirit will make you to understand, but then also that there are things that I have
-
not even said them, because he said, I have still many things to tell you, many things
-
to tell you.
-
You understand?
-
I have still many things to say to you, but you cannot be at him now.
-
However, remember, all these places I'm talking about is not you.
-
It's the disciples, it's the apostles he's talking about there, it's disciples.
-
You understand?
-
It's not you.
-
You understand?
-
So however, when he, the Spirit of Truth was starting of John 16, he will guide you into
-
all truths, guide you into all truths.
-
For he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak and he
-
will tell you the things to come.
-
What are those things to come?
-
That's why Jesus said, there are many things I need to tell you, but you cannot be at them
-
now.
-
These are the things to come that Jesus is saying the Spirit will reveal.
-
Remember again, these things to come, they were not things that have not been mentioned.
-
Just the same way, the things Jesus already taught them, they never understood.
-
You understand?
-
The things to come are things that have already been mentioned, already been spoken of by
-
the prophets, but they are in the mystery.
-
You understand?
-
He said, he will tell you the things to come.
-
He will tell you the things to come.
-
That tell, if you look at it contextually, it will mean he will reveal.
-
That's what it means.
-
He will reveal to you the things to come.
-
And so there are things, you understand?
-
And I want you to see, there are many things that Jesus did not say.
-
It is after the Holy Spirit arrived, in dwellment, and then those things were revealed to the
-
apostles.
-
Are we together?
-
Those things were.
-
So many things concerning is death, burial, and resurrection, because at the time the
-
death has not occurred.
-
At the time he has not resurrected.
-
At the time he has not ascended, meaning he has not indwell any man.
-
So he said he would tell you the things to come.
-
To the disciples at that moment when Jesus was speaking, those things were the things
-
to come.
-
They are the things to come.
-
Look at, look at Acts.
-
Look at, look at the words of Peter.
-
Jesus said he will resurrect after three days, but he never mentioned these things that will
-
happen.
-
Look at Acts 2-2 from verse 14.
-
But Peter standing up with the eleven raised his voice and said to them, men of Judea and
-
all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and heed my word, for these are not
-
drunk as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
-
But this is what was spoken by the prophet Jehovah.
-
Look at it.
-
He quoted, and he shall come to pass.
-
In the last days says God that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh.
-
Oh my goodness.
-
On all flesh.
-
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.
-
Your young men shall see visions.
-
Your old men shall dream dreams.
-
And your maidservant and your maidservant will be poured out my spirit in those days.
-
And they shall prophesy.
-
I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor
-
of smoke.
-
The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the coming of the
-
great and awesome day of the Lord.
-
And he shall come to pass.
-
That whosoever call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
-
Men of Israel, hear this word.
-
Jesus of Nazareth, the man, attested by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs when
-
God did through him in your midst as yourselves also know him being delivered by the determined
-
purpose and full knowledge of God, you have taken by lowless hand, have crucified and
-
put to death whom God raised up having lose the pains of death because it was not possible
-
that he should be held by it.
-
For David says concerning him, for I foresaw the Lord always being before my face for he
-
is at my right hand that I may not be shaken.
-
Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue was glad.
-
Moreover my flesh also will raise in hope for you will not leave my soul in Hades, nor
-
will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.
-
You have made known to me the ways of life.
-
You make me full of joy in your presence.
-
Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David that he is both dead
-
and buried and his tomb is with us today, to this day.
-
They are for being a prophet and knowing that God has sworn with an oath to him that of
-
the fruit of his body according to the flesh he will raise up Christ to sit on his throne.
-
He was seeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of Christ that his soul was not left in Hades.
-
Jesus said I will rise on the second day.
-
And then the apostles came and they were clarifying many details that we didn't know.
-
No, the flesh sees corruption.
-
This Jesus has raised up of whom of which we are all witnesses.
-
They are for being exalted to the right hand of God and having received from the Father
-
the promise of the Spirit pour out this which you now see and hear.
-
For David did not ascend into the heavens but he says himself, the Lord said to my Lord,
-
sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your foots, therefore.
-
I mean you continue to read, you see these brethren, they pick those scriptures that
-
look mysterious before.
-
Now I see they are not talking about the Christ, now opening up again to us that this is actually
-
what they mean.
-
They were discussing about the Christ death, Christ resurrection, bringing out details.
-
This is what remember means.
-
This is what the things to come means.
-
Are we together?
-
This is what the things to come.
-
Glory to Jesus.
-
So let me read some things about Paul.
-
Just some few verses.
-
Look at Ephesians chapter 3.
Ephesians 3 chapter mention
-
I think I love that one too.
-
In the same Ephesians chapter 3.
Ephesians 3 chapter mention
-
Come with me to Ephesians chapter 3 verse 1.
-
It said, For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus, for you, Gentiles, if indeed
-
you have heard of the dispensation of grace, that what dispensation we said is the worship
-
of grace of God, which was given to me for you.
-
How that by revelation, not that one, how that by what?
-
Revelation he made known to me the mystery as I have briefly written.
-
So now, mystery now is now revealed.
-
Mystery is revealed by which when you read, you will understand my knowledge in the mystery
-
of Christ, which is in other ages was not meant to the sons of man as it has now been
-
revealed by the spirit of God.
-
That is a game changer.
-
When he, the spirit of truth is come, when the helper come, he will remind you all the
-
things I've said.
-
And also he will show you the things to come.
-
By the time you read John 14, John 16, the things to come is the Holy Spirit.
-
That is a game changer by the spirit to his holy apostles and prophets that the Gentiles
-
should be fellow hairs of the same body.
-
Up unto, listen, this is a mystery.
-
People used to think that the Israelite is the only special people of God.
-
You understand what I'm saying?
-
It has been hidden.
-
Says to God, reject every nation.
-
You only take only one nation.
-
Looks God as if he's a tribal bigot.
-
Or whatever he call him.
-
You know, he's a bigot.
-
We're a tribalistic person.
-
And now he say no, no, no, no, that in Christ all are included.
-
That in his plan, that is revealing the mysteries.
-
And that's the mystery that the Gentiles should also be fellow hairs of the same body and
-
partakers of his promise in Christ through the gospel.
-
Of which I became a minister according to the grace.
-
Now when you read many other scriptures, of course, one popular one in the sun, which
-
we have been reading every day is first Corinthians chapter two.
-
In the sound we started reading from verse seven in the sound go to 10.
-
You will see that is the spirit that review.
-
He talks about eyes have not seen years have not heard.
-
No, it has ever come to the heart of man.
-
The things that the Lord has prepared for those who love him.
-
But he said, but these things has been revealed to us by who is a by the spirit, by this
-
way.
-
That was what Jesus was saying.
-
So that remembrance means understanding.
-
Nobody will read the Bible.
-
They wouldn't understand.
-
And that is a problem with the entire Pharisee.
-
The status is which we saw on a Sunday.
-
They are not knowing the scripture.
-
What is the game changer is the Holy Spirit that opens scriptures.
-
You understand?
-
And that's why he opened it to the apostles.
-
You wrote the mysteries just like we read in Ephesians.
-
And then he said, what do we do today for us?
-
He said, when you read, you will also understand.
-
So our own the mystery has been revealed.
-
There's nothing to be revealed.
-
He has already revealed it to those people.
-
He told them, I will ensure the Holy Spirit reveal it to you or make you to remember or
-
understand it.
-
You understand?
-
And they documented.
-
So what do we supposed to do is to study it because Paul told the church at Ephesians,
-
he said, when you read, you will also understand.
-
So how do we come into the understanding of the revelation of God?
-
By reading today, by reading what was revealed, by reading what was revealed.
-
And that's why we have said that reading is not just casual reading.
-
You understand?
-
That reading is a committed, diligent reading, a reading that is properly, a reading that
-
is true.
-
So in our, in our bid to answer all these questions, we will read through the Bible.
-
You understand?
-
We will read through.
-
And I want to just give us some last part.
-
What can we learn from all this?
-
What is what again I've emphasized.
-
Again, all that text is Colossians, Peter and the rest.
-
And that's why we hold Genesis to Revelation as the scriptures.
-
Why is the scripture?
-
Because all of it came from the same source.
-
All of it came from the same source.
-
The words that Jesus taught when he was here, the scriptures Genesis to Malachi was a product
-
of the Holy Spirit, was the product of the Holy Spirit.
-
Second Peter 1, 20 and 21 shows to us that it is not a private interpretation.
-
It didn't come from the, from the, from the initiation or the initiative of man.
-
You understand?
-
But the Holy Spirit moves.
-
You understand?
-
So the Genesis to Malachi is a product of the Holy Spirit.
-
You understand?
-
The same text Jesus used.
-
So what do you call it?
-
Matthew to Luke is also the product of the Holy Spirit.
-
Again he told them what I taught you, you understand?
-
What he taught them, from where did he teach?
-
The same text the Holy Spirit gave.
-
So whatever Jesus taught in the gospels which we read today is also the product of the Holy
-
Spirit because he didn't invent it.
-
Not that word.
-
Jesus never invented anything.
-
To explain himself, he went through Genesis to Malachi.
-
All the teaching he told them, read Luke 24 verse 44.
-
He said, all the things I taught you, I told you, you understand?
-
He said they are the things, all things concerning me, which were spoken, you understand?
-
That all those things will be fulfilled, which were written by the law, the prophets and
-
the saints.
-
So the gospels, the four gospels are also the product of the Spirit.
-
But there is so much to be said.
-
They are not all that needs to be said.
-
After all, they only address some portions of what was talked about.
-
Remember he told them that ought not Christ to have suffered, it captured his life and
-
suffering.
-
But there is a major part that has not been captured, which already also the prophet has
-
spoken about it, that is Genesis to Malachi.
-
That is his resurrection and ascension.
-
The details have not been captured.
-
That was what he wanted to tell them, to say to them, but they couldn't be I.E.
-
He told them when the Spirit of truth is come.
-
So through the apostles he brought them, which means that Genesis to Malachi, the product
-
of the Spirit, Matthew to John, the product of the Spirit, the entire epistles, sorry,
-
Matthew because the eyewitness account also from the Acts of Apostles to the entire epistle,
-
also the product of the Spirit.
-
The product of the Spirit.
-
So all this Bible, brother, as you hold them, none of it is the word of man.
-
Genesis to Revelation, none of it is the word of man.
-
So don't let nobody de-beseem you.
-
No, this is what Paul said.
-
No, this is Paul's view.
-
This is Peter's view.
-
We know that Jesus, we follow the teachings of Jesus.
-
I mean, you are confused.
-
The teaching of Jesus is through the apostles.
-
Those things he told them when the Spirit of truth is come, it will give you understanding.
-
And this man wrote those revelation and understanding.
-
So all the scripture is the word of Jesus.
-
All the scripture is a word of the Spirit.
-
Glory to God.
-
And that's why you must handle them both with care.
-
So you cannot take one portion and run with it because it's the same author.
-
There is no confusion.
-
You understand?
-
Except you agree there is confusion in God, then that means you may not be a believer.
-
But if you did not, you understand that there is no confusion.
-
You just need to lead them together.
-
You cannot pick one verse.
-
You must understand them together.
-
So in trying to clarify the word to answer the questions that what is the original plan
-
of God creating a woman, we cannot use one verse.
-
We cannot use one book.
-
That's why you have to be patient.
-
We will go through a lot, brother.
-
That is how it is.
-
Because God has given us this text, so we have to be diligent.
-
So we will start from Genesis.
-
We will go gradually up until we come to the Epistos because all of it is a word of one
-
author or one principal author.
-
That is the Holy Spirit.
-
And he cannot actually be saying one thing here and then he will say another thing here.
-
No.
-
We will see through culture of men.
-
And that's why when you see the way women are given opportunities in the text of Genesis
-
to Revelation is different because they never had understanding of what we have.
-
The Spirit is a game changer.
-
So many of the things we have today by the Revelation through the apostles, we never
-
had them because they are in the mystery.
-
But now, glory to God, it has been revealed unto us.
-
And Paul says, when you read, you will understand.
-
When you read, you will understand.
-
And that is key.
-
And then lastly, let me just introduce what we will go next time.
-
Glory to God.
-
Come to me to Genesis.
-
Let's go back to Genesis.
-
Genesis chapter one.
-
So let me just say what we will start the next time God gives us opportunity.
-
Yes.
-
Look at verse, so we will start from verse 26.
-
Then God said, let us make man in our image according to our likeness.
-
Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the
-
cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeped on the earth.
-
Verse 27.
-
So God created man in his own image.
-
In the image of God, he created him, male and female.
-
He created them.
-
Then God blessed them.
-
And God said to them, be fruitful and multiply.
-
Fulfill the earth and subdue it.
-
Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds, over the air, over every living
-
thing that moves on the earth.
-
So the first thing I want you to note here when we come, we're going to answer a lot
-
of things going forward.
-
The first thing we have to clarify, well, the first thing you have to see first before
-
we start clarifying anything.
-
The first thing you have to see is that he said, let us make man in our image.
-
That means that man is generic, is male and female.
-
And I want you to note also that the male and female are created in the image of God.
-
That means they have the same identity.
-
If I want you to get it, you must get it today because we are going to start to discuss some
-
things also.
-
Because you know, the way you look at a woman, you know, our culture, we're trying to correct
-
some many things here in the sun.
-
That is what you call a male because that male man or female, you know, I want you to
-
note that, that the male and the female are both in the image of God, male and female,
-
male and female.
-
So that means the man had the same identity with the woman.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Now, when we come back, we want to clarify what is that image.
-
And please, I want you to note that we're not going to assume we will read.
-
Listen, what we'll do is that maybe you can start and go and start doing that.
-
But just type on since we have shown you BLB even before we come, you know, just type image
-
and look at through everywhere image appear in the Bible.
-
Let me tell you, we will read all of them.
-
You understand, we will read all of them and understand.
-
Because we don't want to pick image only and stay in Genesis and pick the image here and
-
then maybe in somewhere in Genesis, the image is somebody else.
-
You understand?
-
So we will take it from there and then read everywhere where image appears.
-
You understand, especially that in relation to man, not even animals first and foremost,
-
we will go through it and understand what does it mean to be in the image of God?
-
What does it mean?
-
What does it mean?
-
Glory to Jesus.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Yes, we will stop here.
-
We appreciate you being here today.
-
We hope you carry this word with you throughout your week.
