  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. Manifesting the kingdom of God, priesthood,

  6. and we're going to continue. So I'll just do

  7. a bit of recap and then we'll just continue.

  8. In Exodus chapter 19, Exodus chapter 19, from

Exodus 19 chapter mention Exodus 19 chapter mention

  9. verse 3 to 6, we see the plan of God or the original

  10. plan of God or the desire of God consigning the

  11. children of Israel and the kind of priesthood

  12. that he wants them to have. to have right and

  13. he says in from verse 3 he said that moses went

  14. up to the lord and the lord called called to

  15. him from the mountain and said those you shall

  16. say to the house of jacob and tell the children

  17. of israel and tell the the children of israel

  18. you have seen what i've what i did to the egyptian

  19. and how i bore you on eagle wings and brought

  20. you to myself now therefore if you will indeed

  21. obey my voice and keep my covenant then you shall

  22. be a special treasure to me above all people

  23. from all the earth for for all the earth is mine

  24. and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and

  25. a holy nation these are the words which you shall

  26. speak to the children of israel so we saw that

  27. this is the original plan of God consigning his

  28. children that there will be a nation of priests

  29. there will be a nation of priests the kingdom

  30. of priests a special people to him people that

  31. he desires people that are special to him a country

  32. of priesthood this is what he is God has ordained

  33. and this is what God intended to have with the

  34. children of Israel but if you see in Numbers

    Numbers 18 chapter mention

  35. chapter 18 that he then went to Aaron and his

  36. children and his brethren, which are the Levites.

  37. So we were trying to find out why that went to

  38. them. Was it that the children of Israel did

  39. not follow the things that God wanted them to

  40. follow? Why did it go to them? Praise the Lord.

  41. And we see in Exodus chapter 20, we see that

    Exodus 20 chapter mention

  42. God was speaking to the children of Israel as

  43. they have come to the mountain. 18 to 19 says

  44. and the people witnessed the thunderings and

  45. the lighting flashes and the sound of the trumpets

  46. and the mountain spoken when the people saw it

  47. they trembled and stood afar off and they said

  48. to Moses you speak with us we will hear but let

  49. not God speak with us lest we die praise the

  50. Lord so this is the confession of what the children

  51. of Israel desired or what they wanted because

  52. they were afraid and they were trembling and

  53. all those things but this is not the intention

  54. of God the intention of God was that he has fellowship

  55. with them that he's not just speaking to Moses

  56. that he's not just speaking to somebody else

  57. before them but we saw that he they did not accept

  58. the proposal of God for fellowship they did not

  59. accept the proposal of God to have fellowship

  60. with him to come and hear him that no longer

  61. should somebody else speak to them consigning

  62. the things of God. So God wanted to have fellowship

  63. with them, but they rejected this proposal or

  64. they didn't want this proposal. Or we can call

  65. this wanting Moses to speak to them rather than

  66. God, an act of unbelief because they have not

  67. believed or they don't believe in what God has

  68. intended for them or the proposal of God. so

  69. there was an unbelief there in their side and

  70. so this unbelief i mentioned on sunday was what

  71. brought about a was brought about the moving

  72. of the priesthood from the children of israel's

  73. entirety to moses who is a levi and the aaron

  74. and his brethren but with correction and also

  75. looking more into the world it wasn't just that

  76. it wasn't that the children of israel they said

  77. the levi accepted this invitation praise the

  78. lord so it wasn't that the children of levi affected

  79. this invitation that's why it was given to them

  80. the whole of israel rejected this the whole of

  81. israel reject rejected the proposal of god so

  82. the giving of the priesthood The Levite was not

  83. as a result of their belief. It was not as a

  84. result of their belief because of what God has

  85. said. Right. It was allotted to them. Praise

  86. the Lord. So they refused the proposal of God.

  87. Like I said, we can call that unbelief. Even

  88. the Levite did not believe. They didn't want

  89. to have that fellowship. Right. So it was the

  90. unbelief that made it was the same. And we can

  91. also see a pattern afterwards. is because of

  92. unbelief, because if the Levite has believed,

  93. I think that Aaron would have had a different

  94. opinion when the children of God asked him to

  95. make a golden calf, right? So we see that in

  96. Exodus chapter 32, from verse 1 to 6. So Moses

    Exodus 32 chapter mention

  97. has come from the mountain, Moses has gone to

  98. the mountain, the instructions has been given,

  99. he is receiving instruction concerning the different

  100. things that the children of Israel... would have

  101. to abide by the treatment of servants right the

  102. the personal requirements that god wants from

  103. them the responsibility and how the people should

  104. function as a nation he was receiving the laws

  105. and the rules and the regulation of oppression

  106. on how the children of israel should operate

  107. so but then moses was taking too long and so

  108. they told aaron to make a calf for them we see

  109. that in exodus chapter 20 32. So we also see

    Exodus 20 chapter mention

  110. clearly here a clear sign of unbelief. Again,

  111. from the children of Israel, concerning the things

  112. that God is doing in their midst and concerning

  113. the proposal and the things that God intends

  114. to do with them. So we see that a little bit

  115. of delay forced them to begin to seek for another

  116. God. Maybe somebody else brought them out of

  117. Egypt. They say that they should make a God for

  118. them, right? They don't know what has become

  119. of Moses. And then Eros said to them, break off

  120. the golden earrings which are in your ears. ears

  121. of your wife your sons and your daughters and

  122. bring them to me so all the people broke up the

  123. golden earrings which were in their ears and

  124. brought them to aaron and he received the gold

  125. from their hands and he fashioned it with an

  126. engraving tool and made a mold calf and they

  127. said and then and then they said this is your

  128. god o israel that brought you out of the land

  129. of Egypt. So Aaron saw it and he built an altar

  130. before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and

  131. said, tomorrow is a feast of the Lord. Then they

  132. arose on the next day, offered burnt offerings

  133. and brought these offerings. And the people sat

  134. down and ate and drank and rose up to pray. Praise

  135. the Lord. So when the people as well spoke to

  136. the priest, or supposedly the people who should

  137. lead them, we see also instead of instead of

  138. saying no this is not the the priest should know

  139. the the instruction of god right he went on to

  140. agree or to listen to what the people were saying

  141. praise the lord so that i brought that up to

  142. point towards that it wasn't just that the the

  143. levite accepted this priesthood as a result of

  144. belief it wasn't because there were people that

  145. were separate from the israelite or the attitude

  146. were separate because that was i love her to

  147. them that was given to them by god and by moses

  148. praise the lord so we saw that aaron as well

  149. displayed a sign of unbelief in the things that

  150. god was doing praise the lord so after so the

  151. priesthood was given to them as as as an instruction

  152. was given we can see in numbers chapter 18 read

    Numbers 18 chapter mention

  153. numbers chapter 18. Numbers chapter 18. Then

Numbers 18 chapter mention Numbers 18 chapter mention

  154. the Lord said to Aaron, you and your sons and

  155. your father's house with you shall bear the iniquity

  156. related to the sanctuary and your sons with you

  157. shall bear the iniquity associated with your

  158. priesthood. Also bring with you your brethren

  159. of the tribe of Levi or the tribe of your father

  160. that they may join with you and serve you while

  161. you and your sons are with you before the tabernacle

  162. of witness. They shall attend to your needs and

  163. all the needs of the tabernacle, but they shall

  164. not come near the articles of the centuries and

  165. the altar lest they die. Then they and you also,

  166. they and you also, they shall be joined with

  167. you and attend the needs of the tabernacle of

  168. meeting for all the works of the tabernacle.

  169. But an outsider shall not come near it. You shall

  170. attend to the duties of the sanctuaries and the

  171. duties of the altar, that there may be no more

  172. rot on the children of Israel. Behold, I myself

  173. have taken your brethren, the Levites, from among

  174. the children of Israel. They are gifts to you

  175. and given to the Lord. Do not to do the work

  176. of the tabernacle of meeting. Therefore, you

  177. and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood

  178. for everything at the altar behind the veil,

  179. and you shall serve, and I will give your priesthood

  180. to you as a gift for service. But the outsider

  181. who come near shall be put to death. Praise the

  182. Lord. So we see that this was given to them.

  183. Praise the Lord. So it wasn't that, okay, they

  184. believed what? what God intended for them or

  185. what God intended for the nation. It was given

  186. to the children of, it was given to Aaron and

  187. the children of Levi, praise the Lord, and the

  188. tribe of Levi. So, so God, so we saw also this

  189. from on Sunday, we also saw the example or the

  190. sample of what the kingdom priesthood looked

  191. like in the life of Melchizedek right the king

  192. a king who is a priest right that is able to

  193. bless and he's also to he's able to execute right

  194. so that is the intention of God and so today

  195. we're going to try to see some because there

  196. were kings also in the scriptures that offered

  197. sacrifice they were not from the tribe of Levi

  198. neither were they associated with Iran and then

  199. there were some that they offered sacrifice and

  200. they did so many things around the altars and

  201. the tabernacle and nothing happened to them but

  202. then there were some who did that and there was

  203. declaration of punishment to them praise the

  204. lord so why were why was that the why is there

  205. differences between these two set of people whether

  206. kings or people who mistakenly came near either

  207. the ark of the covenant than dying because that

  208. was not their responsibility to carry praise

  209. the lord so let's go to first chronicles first

  210. chronicles so we're going to look at what made

  211. david different from souls offspring so the offering

  212. that david gave or offered to the lord what made

  213. it different from the offering that saul in first

  214. sabbath offered to the lord praise the lord So,

  215. in 1 Chronicles chapter 11, right? In 1 Chronicles

1 Chronicles 11 chapter mention 1 Chronicles 11 chapter mention

  216. chapter 11, this is after the death of Saul.

  217. After the death of Saul and the Philistines have

  218. looted and scattered the whole people. So, we

  219. saw here from verse 1 to 3, it said, Then all

  220. Israel came together at David, at Hebron, saying,

  221. Indeed, we are your bone and your flesh. Also,

  222. in time past, when even when saul was king you

  223. were one who led israel out and brought them

  224. in the lord your god said to you you shall be

  225. you shall shepherd my people israel and be ruler

  226. over my people therefore all the elders of israel

  227. came to the king at hebron and david and made

  228. a covenant with them at hebron before the lord

  229. and they anointed David, king over Israel, according

  230. to the words of the Lord by Samuel. Praise the

  231. Lord. So this David, who is a king, after the

  232. death of Saul, so they anointed him king over

  233. Israel. So from chapter 11, after Naoti, chapter

  234. 13, it was discussing about the mighty men of

  235. David, the people of war, the strong men that

  236. he went out with. From verse 14, it talks about

  237. how he defeated the Philistines. So this was

  238. how he defeated the Philistines. So 11 to 13

  239. talks about his mighty men, the men of battle

  240. and all of those. And then 14 talks about how

  241. he defeated the Philistines, which were the enemies

  242. of Israel. And then in verse 15, we see something

  243. that after David has built, so we're trying to

  244. see some of the attributes. Whether David had

  245. this priesthood or he has this priesthood calling

  246. to him. So in verse 15 now, from verse 1 to 4,

  247. we see that David built houses for himself in

  248. the city of David. He prepared a place for the

  249. ark of the Lord and pinched a tent for it. So

  250. we see here that David... He built the house

  251. and he was thinking about the ark of the Lord.

  252. So he was thinking about putting the ark of the

  253. Lord somewhere. So he built a tent for the house

  254. of the Lord. And then verse 2 says, So David

  255. said, No one may carry the ark of the Lord but

  256. the Levite, for the Lord has chosen them to carry

  257. the ark of the Lord and to minister before. before

  258. him forever. So David says this because he understands

  259. the law consigning who carries the act of the

  260. covenant. So he knows the law of the temple.

  261. He understands the precepts of the temple and

  262. what should be done. Praise the Lord. So we see

  263. a king here understanding what happens in the

  264. house of the Lord. Praise the Lord. And verse

  265. 3, David gathered all Israel together at Jerusalem

  266. to bring up the ark of the Lord to its place,

  267. which he had prepared. So David assembled the

  268. children of Aaron and the Levite. Praise the

  269. Lord. So we see here again that David gathers

  270. the children of Israel, not just knowing who

  271. should be in charge of what, regarding the work

  272. of the Lord, or regarding the house of the Lord.

  273. He also gathered the people because he knows

  274. that. This is not just an ordinary location.

  275. It wasn't a location of just carrying the Ark

  276. of the Covenant and just bringing it to the place.

  277. He knows that there has to be reverence. This

  278. has to be something powerful and great. And so

  279. the people need to come out. They need to come

  280. out and experience this thing that is happening.

  281. They need to come out and experience what is

  282. happening. So the activity of the Lord is not

  283. something that or the things that happen around.

  284. the house of the lord it's not something that

  285. just one man does but the nation has to come

  286. out and celebrate it and see what is going on

  287. praise the lord so he assembled the children

  288. of aaron and the levite because he knows that

  289. they are supposed to be carrying the ark of the

  290. covenant giving the sacrifices so he knows the

  291. law on what the children of israel to do and

  292. some of these on who should carry it also he

  293. knew that also from experience because somebody

  294. tried to touch the the I can die, right? So he

  295. knows what the children should do and he was

  296. giving them instructions in the things they should

  297. do. So we see in verse 12, from verse 12 now,

  298. from verse 12, and he said to them, right? So

  299. he was talking to the priests of the Levite,

  300. right? And he said to them, you are heads of

  301. your father's house of the Levite. Sanctify yourself,

  302. you and your brethren. that you may bring up

  303. the ark of the Lord, God of Israel, to its place,

  304. to the place I have prepared for it. For because

  305. you did not do it at the first time, the Lord

  306. our God broke out against us, because we did

  307. not consult him about the proper order. So the

  308. priest and the Levites sanctified themselves

  309. to bring up the ark. of the Lord God of Israel.

  310. And the children of the Levites bore the ark

  311. of the Lord on their shoulders by poles, as Moses

  312. had commanded according to the word of the Lord.

  313. Then David spoke to the leaders of the Levites

  314. to appoint their brethren to be singers accompanied

  315. by instruments of music, string instruments,

  316. harps. So we see here that David understands

  317. what the people, He was giving instruction. He

  318. gave them instruction on what they should do.

  319. So he knows that the priest does not just go

  320. into carrying the ark or doing the things of

  321. the Lord without sanctification. They don't just

  322. walk into that place. So he knows what they should

  323. do and he was giving them instruction. So in

  324. many senses, we can see here that it seems like

  325. he's playing the role of Moses or what Moses

  326. was doing with the children of Israel. Because

  327. he was giving them instruction regarding the

  328. things they should do. Praise the Lord. He appointed

  329. leaders. He told them to sanctify themselves.

  330. He knows what they should do. So he was more

  331. like acting or suggesting to us that he's acting

  332. the way Moses would act. Praise the Lord. To

  333. know what Israel should do. Who should do what.

  334. So he gives instruction, consigning administration

  335. to the Lord. Praise the Lord. So in verse 25

  336. now. So David, the elders of Israel and the captains

  337. over thousands went up to bring up the Ark of

  338. the Covenant from the house of Obed -Edom with

  339. joy. And it was so when God blessed the Levite

  340. who bore, sorry, when God helped the Levite who

  341. bore the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, that

  342. he offered seven bulls and seven rams. Divided.

  343. Divided. Sorry, David was clothed with a robe

  344. of linen, of fine linen, as were all the Levites

  345. who bore the Ark of the Covenant and the singers.

  346. And the charahana, the music masters with the

  347. singers. David also wore a linen apron. So all

  348. Israel brought up the Ark of the Covenant of

  349. the Lord with shouting, with sounds of horns,

  350. with the trumpet, making music with string instruments.

  351. So we see here that he gathered the people from

  352. where we saw initially, right? We saw here that

  353. they had cymbals, that they have music instruments.

  354. they have string instruments they have harps

  355. right so they came up to worship god to to to

  356. carry this thing the way traditionally they would

  357. do it praise the lord so in many senses david

  358. led the precision of the priest like as though

  359. he was one of them because he was wearing a linen

  360. a fine a fine linen clothes he was wearing a

  361. linen what Moses has given instructions that

  362. a priest or the children of Levi should wear,

  363. right? In ministering to the Lord. So we see

  364. him here clothed like this, like one of them.

  365. So he was clothed like a priest. Praise the Lord.

  366. So he led the procession of the priest who carried

  367. the Ark of the Covenant, wearing the robe of

  368. fine linen, right? Linen ephron, clothes of the

  369. priest. And so in chapter 16, we also see that.

  370. Chapter 16, we see that. Chapter 16, verse 1.

  371. So, they brought the ark of the Lord and set

  372. it in the midst of the tabernacle that David

  373. had erected for them. And they offered burnt

  374. offerings and peace offering before the Lord.

  375. And when David had finished offering the burnt

  376. offering and the peace offering, he blessed the

  377. people in the name of the Lord. praise the lord

  378. then he distributed to every one of israel both

  379. male and female to everyone a loaf of bread and

  380. a piece of meat and a cake of raisin so david

  381. offered bond offering right and this offering

  382. certainly involves the the levites so he offered

  383. this thing and he was also he's in a group of

  384. levites he was not just doing it alone They did

  385. it, right? In verse one, he tells us. He said,

  386. they offered burnt offering and peace offering

  387. before the Lord. And then verse two tells us

  388. that then when David had finished offering the

  389. burnt offering and the peace offering, he blessed

  390. the people. So he did this amidst the, he did

  391. this amidst the Levites, right? Amidst the Levite

  392. priests. And then verse two says that, says that,

  393. then David went, David had finished offering

  394. the belt offering and the peace offering. He

  395. blessed the people in the name of the Lord. This

  396. indicates that he had a lead role in what was

  397. happening. So amidst what the Levites were doing,

  398. he had a leading role in it. Praise the Lord.

  399. Because he said that he offered. So David blessed

  400. the people. In the name of the Lord. We see that

  401. in verse 2. And this is not an unmistakable action.

  402. It's not something that we can miss. He blessed

  403. the people. So who are the people that usually

  404. bless people? So in Numbers chapter 6. In Numbers

Numbers 6 chapter mention Numbers 6 chapter mention

  405. chapter 6. Numbers chapter 6. Verse 24. Numbers

Numbers 6 chapter mention Numbers 6 chapter mention

  406. chapter 6. Verse 24. 24 says, okay, let's start

  407. from 22. 22 said, the Lord spoke to Moses saying,

  408. speak to Aaron and his son saying, this is the

  409. way you should bless the children of Israel.

  410. Say to them, the Lord bless you and keep you.

  411. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and

  412. be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance

  413. upon you and give you peace. So they shall put

  414. my name on the children of Israel and I will

  415. bless them. Praise the Lord. So we see that at

  416. the end of what David, after he has offered the

  417. sacrifice, he blessed the people. Right? And

  418. we said that it's not something that is just

  419. by mistake or it's not a mistake that he blessed

  420. the people. This was an instruction that was

  421. given to God that the priest should do. which

  422. Aaron and his sons should do. So God granted

  423. Aaron and his son the role of blessing the people.

  424. And we see here that David was doing the same

  425. thing. We saw that this is what David was doing

  426. as well. Because this role was just given to

  427. the priest. But then David was also displaying

  428. the same thing. So the blessings, and again,

  429. the blessing came from the altar. This was after

  430. the... the of the peace offering and this is

  431. after the burnt offering and the peace offering

  432. was given so he blessed the people so and usually

  433. when these when the when the priest blesses the

  434. people they bless them from the altar because

  435. they have come and they have sacrificed so they

  436. bless them from the altar and so we see also

  437. david here blessing them from the altar which

  438. the priest as well as their practice do so it

  439. was the priest place to mediate blessings So

  440. we see here again David blessing the people after

  441. he has offered God's offerings. And then verse

  442. 3 tells us that then he distributed to everyone

  443. of Israel, both male and female, to everyone

  444. a loaf of bread and a piece of meat and a cake

  445. of raisin. So David shared a meal with the people

  446. of Israel. So we learn from Moses that only the

  447. priest could eat the sacrifice, which Israel

  448. as nation, sorry, only the priest could eat the

  449. sacrifice. But when Israel as a nation offers

  450. sacrifices during the various feasts, whether

  451. the feast of Passover, various feasts, they function

  452. as a kingdom of priests when they do all of that.

  453. they function as a kingdom of priests thus eating

  454. and distribution of bread meat and cake of reason

  455. suggests that David suggests a priestly action

  456. by David praise the Lord so we see here again

  457. that suggesting that David was also acting in

  458. that regards as a priest and then lastly from

  459. this place in verse 17 now we see 1 Chronicles

  460. 17. We see here again that it says, Now it came

  461. to pass, when David was dwelling in his house,

  462. that David said to Nathan the prophet, See now,

  463. I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the

  464. covenant of the Lord is under a tent, the curtains.

  465. Then Nathan said to David, Do all that is in

  466. your heart, for God is with you. So we see here

  467. again that David cared about the house of the

  468. Lord. So it wasn't just that he was a king. He

  469. cared about the house of the Lord. He gave instructions

  470. regarding what a priest should do. He gave instruction

  471. in regards to how they should perform what they

  472. need to perform. He was there with them performing

  473. the things they would perform. Praise the Lord.

  474. So what then we now see, when we look at Saul

  475. now, we now see that Saul totally did something

  476. that was quite opposite to what David was doing.

  477. Praise the Lord. So we're just going to look

  478. at Saul briefly. So we see in Saul, 1 Samuel

    1 Samuel 13 chapter mention

  479. chapter 13. 1 Samuel chapter 13, verse 7. And

    1 Samuel 13:7

  480. some of the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to

  481. the land of Gad. and Gilead. As for Saul, he

  482. was still in Gilead. He was still in Gilgah,

  483. and all the people followed him trembling. Then

  484. he waited seven days, according to the time set

  485. by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgah,

  486. and the people were scattered from him. So Saul

  487. said, bring me a bond offering and a peace offering

  488. here to me. And he offered a bond offering. Now

  489. it happened as soon as he had finished presenting

  490. the bond offering that Samuel came and Saul went

  491. out to meet him that he might greet him. Praise

  492. the Lord. So Samuel gave an instruction that

  493. he should wait for him. He gave him an instruction

  494. that he should wait for him. in Gilgah but then

  495. the people he was concerned about you know the

  496. people were afraid so many things were happening

  497. he needed to show that he's a king right so he

  498. went and offered sacrifice that he shouldn't

  499. be offering right and he said the time has passed

  500. because obviously they were waiting for for Samuel

  501. to come and offer the sacrifice so that they

  502. will bless them just like we saw in in our previous

  503. studies that when the people went out for war

  504. and they are afraid when the priest comes to

  505. them right he comes and he blesses them he tells

  506. them not to be afraid right he we see that in

  507. Deuteronomy chapter 24 verse 4 to 1 to 1 to 4

  508. that he the priest speaks the promises of God

  509. to his people he's strengthening the people right

  510. he reminds the people of the presence of God

  511. with them as they go to battle so he's not a

  512. priest to come and do that Saul was more concerned

  513. about, oh, these people are scattering, so many

  514. things are happening, let me just offer and then

  515. we can go. Praise the Lord. In essence, disobeying

  516. the instruction of God. And then we see in verse

  517. 11, and Samuel said, what have you done? Saul

  518. said, when I saw that the people were scattered

  519. from me and that you did not come within the

  520. appointed time, that the Philistines gathered

  521. together at Mithmash. Then I said, the Philistines

  522. will now come down on me at Gilgah, and I have

  523. not made supplication to the Lord. Therefore,

  524. I felt compelled and I offered bonds of faith.

  525. Praise the Lord. And Samuel said to him, you

  526. have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandments

  527. of your God. which he has commanded you. For

  528. now, the Lord will have established your kingdom

  529. over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall

  530. not continue. The Lord has sought for himself

  531. a man after his own hands. The Lord has commanded

  532. him to be commander over his people because you

  533. have not kept what the Lord has commanded you.

  534. Praise the Lord. So in essence, he was telling

  535. him that the instruction to wait is from the

  536. Lord and you have not followed him. Praise the

  537. Lord. so the two scenarios of David and what

  538. David was doing and Saul was doing were completely

  539. different there's one who received instruction

  540. to wait for the Lord but then because of the

  541. people and he did not trust God he did not believe

  542. that God was going to help them in the battle

  543. so okay I'm going to do this or maybe it's a

  544. it's like a tradition it's a tradition obviously

  545. but It doesn't matter who does it. Let's just

  546. do it because God will accept that sacrifice.

  547. Not knowing that God is looking for something

  548. much more than just the sacrifice that he was

  549. going to get. It's going to be offered to him.

  550. So he cared about his reputation with the people.

  551. So these two scenarios are different. That's

  552. why we saw one was a blessing and one was pleasing

  553. to God and the other one wasn't pleasing to God.

  554. Praise the Lord. And so, so many examples like

  555. that in the scripture where we see a priest,

  556. a king who practices priesthood or an individual

  557. who practices priesthood. And one is a blessing

  558. in the Old Testament. One is a blessing and the

  559. other one is not a blessing. There are many more

  560. examples like that. So we're going to now look

  561. at the... We're now going to now look at the...

  562. The duties of the priest, as we said. So the

  563. duties of the priest is to teach God's covenant

  564. people. Leviticus chapter 10. Leviticus chapter

Leviticus 10 chapter mention Leviticus 10 chapter mention

  565. 10, Proverbs 10 to 11. Okay. It said that you

  566. may distinguish between holy and unholy, between

  567. unclean and unclean, that they may teach the

  568. children of Israel all the statutes which the

  569. Lord has spoken to them by the hand. of Moses.

  570. Praise the Lord. So this was being told consigning

  571. the priest, right? And we see that from verse

  572. 8. It says, Then the Lord spoke to Aaron, saying,

  573. Do not drink wine or intoxicate on indiscating

  574. drink. You know your sons with you when you go

  575. into the tabernacle of the meat unless you die.

  576. And there shall be a statue forever throughout

  577. your generation that you may distinguish between

  578. that which is holy and unholy, between unclean

  579. and unclean, right? And they may be able to teach,

  580. right? They might be able to teach. So he's telling

  581. them, don't do this. Do not intoxicate yourself

  582. with wine or be a drunkard, right? Because so

  583. that you're able to distinguish that which is

  584. clean and that which is not clean. Your head

  585. is straight concerning the things you're doing

  586. in the house of the Lord. And again, so that

  587. you are able to give instruction to the children

  588. of Israel. You're able to tell them the statutes

  589. of the Lord. You're able to tell them the things

  590. concerning... the kingdom of God. So the priest's

  591. duty is to teach God's covenant people, is to

  592. teach God's people. Praise the Lord. Is to teach

  593. God's people. We also saw in Malachi 2 verse

    Malachi 2:7

  594. 7 that he is to speak the word of God. Right?

  595. The priest is to speak the word of God. He's

  596. a messenger of the Lord. He's a messenger of

  597. the Lord. in Numbers chapter 6 Numbers chapter

Numbers 6 chapter mention Numbers 6 chapter mention

  598. 6 Numbers chapter 6 verse Numbers chapter 6 verse

Numbers 6 chapter mention Numbers 6 chapter mention

  599. Numbers chapter 6 verse 22 we also saw that right

    Numbers 6:22

  600. so he says to them we read that before right

  601. Moses and then the Lord spoke to Moses saying

  602. speak to Aaron and his son saying this is the

  603. way you shall bless the children of Israel and

  604. say to them, the Lord bless you and the Lord

  605. keep you. The Lord makes his face shine upon

  606. you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up

  607. his countenance upon you and give you peace.

  608. Praise the Lord. So we see here that the priest

  609. is to communicate the blessing of God to the

  610. people. He is to communicate the blessing of

  611. God to his people. And then in Leviticus chapter,

  612. from chapter one to chapter seven, we see also

  613. that he is to apply the blood of sacrifice to

  614. the altar right the sacrifice that people bring

  615. that is to apply that blood to the altar so and

  616. we said that the failure of the children of israel

  617. in regards to the purposes of god did not stop

  618. god he did not stop the plan of god he did not

  619. stop the plan of god the plan of god was not

  620. he stopped because of how they have decided or

  621. whatever they have decided to do praise the lord

  622. he didn't stop it because the plan of god prospered

  623. in jesus right the kingdom of priesthood was

  624. restored in jesus the kingdom of priesthood was

  625. restored in jesus revelation chapter 5 the relations

    Revelation 5 chapter mention

  626. of the five from this the relations of the five

  627. from his mind he says he said when he had taken

  628. the school and the four living creatures and

  629. his four elders fell down before the lamb each

  630. one having a harp and a golden bowl full of incense

  631. which was a prayer of the saint it's nine i said

  632. and they sang the song saying you are worthy

  633. to take the scroll and to open its seals. For

  634. you were slain and have redeemed us to God by

  635. your blood out of every tribe and tongue and

  636. people and nation and have made us kings and

  637. priests to our God. And we shall reign on the

  638. earth. Praise the Lord. So the original plan

  639. of God prospered. in Jesus. The original plan

  640. of God prospered in Jesus because of what he

  641. has done on the cross for us. He has made us

  642. a kingdom of priests, of kings and priests. So

  643. he has brought back the original intention of

  644. God. Every child of God has this calling upon

  645. their life. And then 1 Peter that we famously

  646. know also tells us that We are a choosing generation

  647. and a royal priesthood. We are a choosing generation

  648. and a royal priesthood. God has called us who

  649. we are not people, and now we are people of God.

  650. Praise the Lord. 1 Peter 2, verse 4. He said,

    1 Peter 2:4

  651. coming to him as a living stone, rejected by

  652. men, but chosen by God and precious. He said,

  653. you also, a living stone, are built of a spiritual

  654. house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual

  655. sacrifice acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

  656. And then verse 9 to 10 now tells us that while

  657. you were a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,

  658. a holy nation, his own special people, you should

  659. proclaim the praises of he who has called you

  660. out of darkness. Into his marvelous light. Who

  661. were once not a people, but now are the people

  662. of God. Who had not obtained mercy, but now have

  663. obtained mercy. Praise the Lord. So the initial

  664. plan and the original plan of God for a kingdom

  665. of priesthood was restored in Jesus. So we are

  666. able to have this. kingdom priesthood. We're

  667. able to exercise this kingdom priesthood for

  668. those that believe in what Christ has done on

  669. the cross. Praise the Lord. We're able to exercise

  670. it. We're able to demonstrate. We're able to

  671. bring about the rule of God on the earth. Praise

  672. the Lord. So in every child of God has received

  673. this holy calling. A people that can serve God

  674. and a people that manifest the power. of god

  675. that is what the address is some of the things

  676. that we have received that we can serve god and

  677. we can also manifest the power of god a people

  678. that can teach the world just as we saw in the

  679. priests people that teach the world people that

  680. bless these people that declare god's blessings

  681. for lives and people and nations praise the lord

  682. people that reminds people of of of the promises

  683. of god strengthens the weak and bear one another's

  684. burdens bring deliverance to those in need and

  685. preach the gospel to the lost so we're able to

  686. serve and we're able to execute the judgment

  687. or the power of god on the earth because of what

  688. christ has restored to us a kingdom of priests

  689. to our god praise the lord and he says that we

  690. shall reign on the earth so he says that part

  691. of the duties of a priest is that they teach

  692. The covenant people of God. Praise the Lord.

  693. So the priest teaches the covenant people of

  694. God. So we teach one another. We teach one another.

  695. We teach one another. These are the duties of

  696. priests. Colossians. Colossians. Colossians chapter

    Colossians 3:6

  697. 3 verse 6. It says. Sorry, 3 verse 16. Colossians

    Colossians 3:16

  698. 3 verse 16. It says, Let the word of Christ dwell

  699. in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing

  700. one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual

  701. songs, singing with grace, singing with grace

  702. in your heart to the Lord. Praise the Lord. we

  703. see here that he tells us that he said let the

  704. word of the lord dwell richly in you so the priest

  705. is somebody who who who should allow or who the

  706. word of the lord dwells richly in them right

  707. so they they they receive the word they are eager

  708. to learn the word they study the word they listen

  709. to the word they hear the word so let it dwell

  710. richly in you that you may be able to teach So

  711. the world is a blessing to you, but it's also

  712. that you are able to teach, that you're able

  713. to instruct, right? That you're able to instruct

  714. one another and admonish one another. That you're

  715. able to warn, that you're able to exalt one another.

  716. Praise the Lord. And he says that in doing that

  717. in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Praise

  718. the Lord. So when the world dwells in you richly,

  719. It means that psalms will come and that hymns

  720. will come and spiritual songs will come. And

  721. he's saying, singing with grace in your heart

  722. to the Lord. Praise the Lord. So the priest is

  723. somebody who keeps the word. So as we are children

  724. of God, as we are people of God who have the

  725. spirit of God in us, it is therefore our effort.

  726. It is also needful for us to... Let the word

  727. of Christ dwell richly. Let it dwell. Praise

  728. the Lord. As we are receiving it, we should want

  729. to receive more. We should go back to hear it

  730. again. We should listen to it. We should not

  731. be people that are just looking for, okay, what

  732. is new? What is new? What are you saying that

  733. is new? We should be people that allow the word

  734. of the Lord to dwell richly in our hearts because

  735. that helps us to teach. Praise the Lord. He blesses

  736. us, but he helps us to teach. Romans chapter...

  737. 15 verse 14. Romans 15 verse 14. Verse 14 says,

    Romans 15:14

  738. Now I myself am confident concerning you, my

  739. brethren, that you also are full of goodness,

  740. full with all knowledge, able to admonish one

  741. another. Praise the Lord. We're able to teach.

  742. We're able to encourage. we're able to exalt

  743. one another so we are filled with the knowledge

  744. of we are filled with the knowledge of god so

  745. that we can be blessed but at the same time we

  746. are able to teach one another we're able to teach

  747. our fellow believer we're able to teach one another

  748. we're able to teach our families and friends

  749. second timothy second timothy chapter two 2 Timothy

    2 Timothy 2:2

  750. chapter 2 verse 2 says, And these things you

  751. have heard, and the things that you have heard

  752. from me, among many witnesses, commit these things

  753. to faithful men who are able to teach others

  754. also. Praise the Lord. The word we have received

  755. is also to be able to teach others, to be able

  756. to teach one another. Praise the Lord. We teach

  757. one another. We admonish one another. We teach

  758. one another. Praise the Lord. Just as it is in

  759. Deuteronomy. Just as we see in Deuteronomy that

  760. they are supposed to be taught. Their children

  761. that are growing are supposed to learn from what

  762. God has done. Deuteronomy chapter 6, verse 6

    Deuteronomy 6:6–9

  763. to 9. It says, These words I have commanded you

  764. today shall be in your hearts. and you shall

  765. teach them diligently to your children, and they

  766. shall talk with them when you sit in your house,

  767. when you walk by the way, when you lie down,

  768. when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign

  769. on your hand, and there shall be a front light

  770. between your eyes. Praise the Lord. And then

  771. he said, you shall write them. on the doorpost

  772. of your house and on your gates. So in essence,

  773. saying that the word that you have received,

  774. right, you should teach them diligently to your

  775. children or the people that are around you. And

  776. then he also says that a priest is somebody who

  777. speaks, he tells us that they offer, they apply

  778. the blood of sacrifice to the altar, right? So

  779. a priest is somebody who... speaks, or who preaches

  780. the word of salvation to men. They preach the

  781. word of salvation to men. Acts chapter 8. Acts

Acts 8 chapter mention Acts 1 chapter mention

  782. chapter 1. Acts chapter 1. Acts chapter 1, verse

Acts 1 chapter mention Acts 1:8

  783. 8. Acts chapter 1, verse 8. It says that, it

    Acts 1:8

  784. says, But you shall receive power when the Holy

  785. Spirit has come upon you. You shall be witnesses

  786. to me in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria

  787. and to all the ends of the earth. And then chapter

  788. 10, verse 42, tells us that, And he commanded

  789. us to preach to the people, to testify that it

  790. is he who was ordained by God to be judge of

  791. the living and the dead. To him all the prophet

  792. witnessed that. that through his name, whoever

  793. believes in him will receive the remission of

  794. sin. Praise the Lord. So the Holy Spirit in us,

  795. the Spirit of God in us, enables us to tell men

  796. of the Christ. Praise the Lord. So a priest is

  797. somebody who preaches the word to the lost. The

  798. Holy Spirit in you enables you, gives you the

  799. strength to preach to the lost, right? It gives

  800. us the strength to preach about the Christ. And

  801. then in Colossians, Chapter 4 tells us that he

    Colossians 4 chapter mention

  802. prays that the door will be opened. The door

  803. of the world will be opened. Praise the Lord.

  804. We see that as well. And then 2 Timothy tells

  805. us that he desired that all men be saved. 2 Timothy

  806. chapter Colossians. Colossians chapter 4. Verse

    Colossians 4 chapter mention

  807. 3 to 4 says that. Meanwhile pray for us that

  808. God will open for us a door. for the word to

  809. speak the mystery of christ for which for which

  810. i'm also in chain that i mean that i may make

  811. it manifest as i ought to speak praise the lord

  812. so we see here paul praying that a door be opened

  813. for him for the word that he speaks it right

  814. and then second first timothy first timothy chapter

  815. two verse four He tells us that who desire all

  816. men to be saved and come to the knowledge of

  817. the truth. Praise the Lord. So God desire that

  818. all men be saved and come to the knowledge of

  819. the truth. We also see in 1 Peter. We also see

  820. in 1 Peter chapter 3. 1 Peter chapter 3. 1 Peter

    1 Peter 3 chapter mention 1 Peter 3 chapter mention 1 Peter 3:15

  821. chapter 3 verse 15. He tells us about... Sanctify

  822. the Lord in your heart and always be ready to

  823. give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason

  824. for the hope that is in you with meekness and

  825. fear. Praise the Lord. That is to defend the

  826. gospel. So the priest as well encourages, encourages

  827. the people. He gives the people strength. Praise

  828. the Lord. Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews chapter

Hebrews 11 chapter mention Hebrews 11 chapter mention

  829. 11. Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews chapter 11, verse

Hebrews 11 chapter mention Hebrews 11:24

  830. 24. Hebrews chapter 11, verse 24. He said, I

    Hebrews 11:24

  831. think I have the wrong scripture. Let's read

  832. Romans, Romans chapter 1. Romans chapter 1. Romans

Romans 1 chapter mention Romans 1 chapter mention Romans 1 chapter mention

  833. chapter 1, from verse 11 to 12. He said, For

  834. I long to see you, that I may impact in you some

  835. spiritual gift, so that you may be established.

  836. That is, that I may be encouraged together with

  837. you by the mutual faith, both of you and of me.

  838. Praise the Lord. So that he may be encouraged

  839. by visiting them, that when he comes to visit

  840. them, that they will be encouraged, him too would

  841. be encouraged. Praise the Lord. So that a priest

  842. is one that encourages, we encourage one another.

  843. We help to stay up love in one another. And then

  844. 1 Thessalonians 11 tells us, Therefore comfort

  845. one another and defy one another, just as you

  846. are also doing. Praise the Lord. The priest is

  847. one that encourages one another. So to look for

  848. ways to encourage one another, to share love

  849. from the inside of us. So when we come together

  850. as children of God, when we come together as

  851. people of God, we come together to be blessed

  852. by one another. We come together and we teach

  853. one another. Praise the Lord. We come together

  854. and we teach one another. There are a lot of...

  855. There are a lot of... gathering that we might

  856. just gather and then we're just talking about

  857. something else which are very important for our

  858. relationship but as children of God we need we

  859. need time that we come together to encourage

  860. one another praise the Lord and we see all these

  861. things in these scriptures because God knows

  862. that we need encouragement and the coming together

  863. of each and every one of us we mean encouraging

  864. for one another that we come and we stay up love

  865. We come and we stay up low and we encourage one

  866. another. That when we come together, somebody

  867. is going through something or going through a

  868. difficult time, that they will find encouragement

  869. by speaking to us. Praise the Lord. They will

  870. find encouragement by speaking to us. They will

  871. find encouragement by speaking to us. The lack

  872. of receiving encouragement from one another is

  873. why a lot of maybe somebody will suggest to you,

  874. you need to go and do therapy. which is very

  875. good. But if we were encouraging each other,

  876. there will be less cases where you will need

  877. to go and do that. Praise the Lord. Because when

  878. we gather, we need to be discussing on how to,

  879. or we need to find ways to stay up love and to

  880. stay up good works in each other. Praise the

  881. Lord. To help us in the times of need, to help

  882. us in the times where we are going through difficulties.

  883. And also that we are going through issues should

  884. also mean that we should also learn to share.

  885. We should also learn to share with one another.

  886. You see, these are the things that I'm going

  887. through because the Bible tells us to bear one

  888. another's burden. So in sharing, your burden

  889. will be bared with somebody else. They will pray

  890. for you. They will help you. And then all those

  891. burdens will be lifted. Praise the Lord. We appreciate

  892. you being here today. We hope you carry this

  893. word with you throughout your week. Don't forget
