-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. 1 Corinthians chapter 1, everybody.
1 Corinthians 1 chapter mention
-
So one of the words that I remembered mentioning
-
on Sunday, I mentioned something. I said Paul
-
was addressing the church in Corinthians, a loveless
-
spiritual people. What I meant by a loveless
-
spiritual people is not as though. Can you hear
-
me? Okay, sir. Okay. So it's not as though these
-
people don't have the love of Christ in them.
-
Amen. The day the believer comes into Christ,
-
the day the believer. receives the life of christ
-
he receives all that is in christ jesus so when
-
when i say loveless people it was not or is not
-
as though these people don't have love at all
-
no the believers in the corinthian church have
-
the love of christ in them amen They have all
-
that is in Christ. Also, they have it in them.
-
So the only challenge with them is that what?
-
They have made a choice. Willful ignorance, right?
-
Not to walk in love. Praise God. So now, let's
-
see verse 2. Let's see verse 2. Everybody, please
-
pay attention to your Bible. And see the kind
-
of, there's a reason why I want us to read verse
-
2 to 10. Right? Because I want to say something
-
that will build on all that we are discussing.
-
Or from verse 1. Paul called to be an apostle
-
of Jesus Christ through the will of God and sustenance
-
our brother. See verse 2 everybody. Put your
-
attention very well. Unto the church of God which
-
is at Corinth. To them that are what? sanctified
-
in Christ Jesus. They are in who? They are in
-
Christ. Christ is in them. Amen? So all that
-
is in Christ is in these believers. How do I
-
know? Let's continue reading. Called to be what?
-
Called to be saints. With all that in every place
-
called upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
-
both theirs and what? And ours. So this church,
-
these believers are in who? They are in Christ
-
Jesus. And Christ is also what? In them. Praise
-
God. So these people have love. These people
-
have all the gifts of the Holy Ghost. These people
-
have all that is in Christ Jesus. Verse 3. Grace
-
be unto you and peace from God our Father and
-
from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always
-
on your behalf for the grace of God, which is
-
what? Which is given you by Jesus Christ. That
-
in everything, can you see everybody? That in
-
everything, ye are what? Ye are enriched by him.
-
Hallelujah. Not in some things. Not in one thing.
-
Not in two things. Not in three things. That
-
they are enriched in how many things? In everything.
-
The believer is the man that is enriched in everything
-
in Christ Jesus. We have treated it in our cell
-
meeting. The realities of the believer in Christ
-
Jesus. As we are discussing heaven. The realities
-
of the believer in Christ Jesus. So the believer
-
is enriched in Christ in how many things? In
-
all things. And he said by him. Who? By Christ.
-
That hymn there says that ye are enriched by
-
Christ in all utterance and in all how many words?
-
All knowledge. Can you see? All utterance, all
-
knowledge, all gifts, the love of God, the patience
-
of God, the character of God, the kindness of
-
God, they are enriched in all things. See verse
-
6. Even as the testimony of Christ was what?
-
Was confirmed in you. Can you see verse 7? So
-
that ye come behind in what? In no gifts. Because
-
they are enriched in all things. They are enriched
-
in everything. They are enriched in every gift.
-
They come behind in no gift waiting for the coming
-
of our Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 8. Who shall
-
also confirm you unto the end that ye be blameless
-
in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 9.
-
God is faithful. By whom here we are called.
-
Unto the fellowship of his son. Jesus Christ
-
what? Our Lord. Unto the union. Now what fellowship?
-
Unto the union. Of which his son. Our Lord Jesus
-
Christ. Seva stand everybody now. Seva stand.
-
So that you will know that this church is enriched
-
in everything. Now I beseech you, brethren, by
-
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all
-
speak what? The same thing. And that there be
-
no what? Divisions where? Among you. But that
-
ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind
-
and in the same judgment. Hallelujah. In the
-
same mind and in the same judgment. Because ye
-
are enriched in everything. Because for the grace
-
of God has been given to you by Christ Jesus.
-
Because the peace of God and his grace has been
-
given to you. Because ye are enriched in all
-
utterance. Ye are enriched in all knowledge.
-
You see this church. It's a church that has all
-
things. So whatever that is in Christ Jesus is
-
in them. Hallelujah. However, this church, when
-
you now see verse 11, it now say, for it has
-
been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by
-
them which are of the house of what? Of Chloe,
-
that there are what? Contentions where? Among
-
you. So some people from the house of Chloe,
-
where the people that declared unto him that
-
there are what? Contentions among them. And he
-
began verse 12 and began to address all the contentions.
-
And we read on Sunday in chapter 3, he addressed
-
an issue. Chapter 4, he addressed an issue. Chapter
-
5, he kept addressing till chapter 13, 14 and
-
15. He ended 15 and 16, now bringing their minds
-
to a different matter entirely, having addressed
-
all the issues and then encouraged them to walk
-
in love. So most times when you see that there
-
are disputes and when there are issues and then
-
in the body of Christ, you want to address a
-
matter between two believers. You are not addressing
-
the matter between the believers as though they
-
don't have that which is in them that is supposed
-
for them to live that kind of life. No. But rather,
-
you see a deviation from their reality or who
-
they are or their identity in Christ Jesus. That
-
is why in chapter 3, he would tell them that
-
I would love to speak to you as unto spiritual,
-
but I have to speak unto you as unto what? Canal.
-
as unto faith in who? In Christ. So these people
-
are spiritual people. Question, who is a spiritual
-
person? A spiritual person is one that is saved.
-
One that has the Holy Ghost. I'm just giving
-
us a summarized definition of a spiritual person.
-
A spiritual person is any believer or any man
-
that is what? That is saved. whether you pray
-
16 hours whether you pray 30 hours whether you
-
have locked in your room for 16 days or you fast
-
and pray for 191 days that does not make you
-
more spiritual and make your other brother or
-
the other believer less spiritual The man in
-
Christ is already spiritual. Let me say it again.
-
The man in Christ is already what? Spiritual.
-
The man in Christ is already spiritual. However,
-
that man that is spiritual can make a choice,
-
can act on his will to behave carnally. That
-
person can willfully decide not to walk by the
-
Spirit of God. That person can willfully decide
-
not to express the life of God in him. That person
-
can willfully decide to exhibit a life that is
-
apart his identity. So that is what is happening
-
with the Church of Corinthians or the Church
-
in Corinth. And I needed to build this to say
-
this now. You are hearing me on this platform.
-
You are spiritual. You are spiritual. You are
-
spiritual. You are spiritual. You are spiritual.
-
You don't need to do anything extra to make you
-
spiritual. The day you receive the life of Christ,
-
you became spiritual. What you always need to
-
do as you are taught, as you are trained, is
-
to give expression to the life. That you have
-
in the spirit. When we say pray always. What
-
we are saying. We are not saying that you should
-
pray. To become spiritual. No. We are saying
-
that give expression. To your spiritual life.
-
When we say study God's word. We are not saying
-
study God's word. To become spiritual. No. Because
-
that will be works. But rather. We are saying
-
that you are already spiritual. Give expression.
-
To your spiritual life. And how you give expression
-
to your spiritual life. Is by studying God's
-
word. When we say. Attend the gathering of believers.
-
We are not saying that. Coming to the gathering
-
of believers. Will make you spiritual. No. But
-
we are saying that. When you always. Attend the
-
gathering of believers. And you are always among
-
the gathering of believers. You are giving expression.
-
To your reality in Christ Jesus. And likewise.
-
Every time you refuse to give expression to your
-
spirituality, listen to what I will say now,
-
you're already backsliding. You hear what I'm
-
saying? Every time you refuse to what? To give
-
expression to your identity in Christ Jesus,
-
you're already what? You are already backsliding.
-
You're going to find yourself acting carnally.
-
Your fervency will go down. Your passion will
-
dwindle. It will go down. Your love for God will
-
continue to wax weaker and weaker. Your love
-
for the saints will continue to grow cold. That
-
is what actually happened to the church in Corinth,
-
and Paul had to address it. And that is why we
-
are addressing this matter, because there is
-
some way that we are going. So he was telling
-
them that all that is in Christ Jesus in chapter
-
13 must find expression through the platform
-
of love. Let me say this now as it's coming to
-
my heart. Live a life that validates your spirituality
-
by walking in love. Live a life that validates
-
your spirituality by walking in the love of Christ
-
towards your beloved brothers or towards brethren.
-
Because every time you refuse to walk in love,
-
you're going to find division. So how do you
-
know these people are not walking in love? One,
-
because we can see division. You see in verse
-
10, he has already encouraged them in verse 10.
-
He said, please have the same mind. He said,
-
let there be no divisions. That is how the bond
-
of perfectness will be seen among you. Every
-
time you don't love your brother, every time
-
you don't love your sister, every time you don't
-
seek the advantage and the benefits of the other
-
brethren, you will find yourself in division.
-
There will be strife. Let me read the things
-
here in chapter 3. There will be divisions. One
-
will say I am of Apollos. One will say I am of
-
the other. You're going to see envy. You're going
-
to see malice. You're going to see jealousy.
-
You're going to see so much of unforgiveness.
-
No love. No love. Wheresoever. There is no love
-
of God. made manifest or express, the life of
-
God will be stranded in that place. Do you hear
-
what I said? Where so ever there is no love of
-
God expressed, every gathering, every believer
-
or any believer, you don't see the love of God
-
expressed or made manifest through his life.
-
You will see the things of the spirit. You will
-
see the character of God. You will see the life
-
of God stranded. You will see the life of God
-
limited in that place. So this church at Corinth
-
have made a choice or have given a room for Satan
-
to find expression among them by not working
-
in love, by allowing divisions, by allowing strife
-
and ETC to be seen among them. And so now, we
-
also now return. How did we arrive at this place?
-
Because we say these people are saints. Verse
-
2 said that chapter 1 verse 2 called them that
-
they are saints. Which means that they are believers.
-
They have the life of Christ. And we say we also.
-
We have the life of Christ. We are saints. We
-
are spiritual. Then we now read Romans chapter
Romans 8 chapter mention
-
8. Romans chapter 8, verse 9 to 10. Romans chapter
-
8, verse 9 to 10. He said, yea, not in the flesh,
-
but in the spirit. You are in the spirit. You
-
are in the spirit. And he said, we are in the
-
spirit. Brother, you are in the spirit. Peter,
-
you are in the spirit. Pastors, we are in the
-
spirit. Team leaders, you are in the spirit.
-
You are not in the flesh. If so, be that the
-
spirit of God dwell in you. Now, if any man have
-
not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
-
Stand now. And if Christ be in you, the body
-
is dead. Because of what? Because of sin. So
-
sin no longer have dominion over us. But the
-
spirit is what? Is life. Because of what? Righteousness.
-
See verse 5 now everybody. For they that are
-
after the flesh. Do what? Do mind the things
-
of the flesh. But they that are after the spirit.
-
Because they are in the spirit. Do mind the things
-
of what? Of the spirit. 6 now everybody see.
-
For to be carnally minded is death. But to be
-
spiritually minded is what? Is life and peace.
-
So the church in Corinth were carnally minded.
-
They were not spiritually what? Minded. And I
-
tell us today, the only way that the life of
-
God. Will be made manifest through us. Until
-
we become spiritually what? Minded. Until we
-
pay attention. To the things of the spirit. Until
-
our attention. Is tilted. Towards our reality.
-
In Christ Jesus. Our identity in Christ Jesus.
-
If not. We will continually. To be carnally what?
-
Minded. So Christ in us. The spirit in us. Hallelujah.
-
Christ in me. The spirit in me. Some days ago,
-
until last week, I went throughout the day just
-
meditating, meditating, meditating, meditating.
-
I think my wife told me something in the morning.
-
So she said that when you come back from work,
-
I'm going to tell you the story. We're just discussing
-
early in the morning. So I'd gone out to work.
-
I'd forgotten I'd been busy. In fact, I was so
-
busy, I came back. And so in the night, so and
-
then she now said, aha, please, what is it? There
-
was something I wanted to tell you. What was
-
it? So she could not remember and I could not
-
remember. And then I now, the next thing I now
-
said, Holy Spirit, please remind me, please.
-
Remind me, Holy Spirit. Because most times I
-
go throughout the day, you could just see on
-
the road, I would just be like a mad person.
-
Holy Spirit, please help me. Help me, please,
-
Holy Spirit. Help me. Help me, Holy Spirit. I
-
could be in the office. Please, Holy Spirit,
-
help me. My mind will just wander in thoughts.
-
I say, Holy Spirit, please help me. And then
-
within just a few seconds to a minute about.
-
Then the whole thing that she wanted to tell
-
me just came flooding my mind. Let me say this
-
now to someone here on this platform. If you
-
have to utter it, please utter it. The Holy Spirit
-
help me. Probably it has to do with your prayer
-
life. It has to do you have been struggling to
-
study God's word. You have been struggling to
-
study the scriptures. Say, Holy Spirit, do what?
-
Help me. You see, the God kind of life cannot
-
be lived by the human kind of effort. You didn't
-
hear what I said? The God kind of life cannot
-
be lived by what? By the human kind of effort.
-
It can only be lived by the Spirit's power. Your
-
spiritual life, your spirituality can only be
-
powered by the Spirit of God. It can only be
-
sustained by the Spirit of God. Your prayer life
-
can only be sustained by the Spirit of God. Let
-
me tell you all the things you have written.
-
That Lord, I want to do this for you. I want
-
to do this for you. I want to do this this year.
-
I want to fast. I want to pray. I want to study
-
the words. I want to meditate more. I want to
-
preach more. I want to evangelize more. I want
-
to organize crusades and conferences. All those
-
desires can only be sustained by the Spirit of
-
God. It will be good for you. To lean on the
-
Holy Ghost always. And say, Holy Spirit, do what?
-
Help me. Help me, Holy Spirit. There will be
-
less struggle. Your strength, frustrations will
-
be reduced more. Have you ever had series of
-
weeks? We have discussed that with Pastor Chidi
-
and then probably maybe a couple of the pastors
-
also. And it has worked with so many of us. You
-
set your heart to pray. By 5 a .m. Or let's say
-
by 3 a .m. And your alarm rang, rang, rang, rang,
-
rang. And you didn't hear your alarm. And then
-
some few minutes to 3. From nowhere. You are
-
just up on your bed. I remember the last time
-
I did 90 days of the power of confession. That
-
was 2022. I experienced firsthand. If the Holy
-
Spirit does not help you in your walk with God,
-
your efforts will be futile. You know when you
-
are sleeping by 3 a .m. and you need to be up
-
by 5 o 'clock or 5 .30. And then when you wake
-
up, what's the time? What's the time? I realized,
-
how is it that I woke up? Right on time. How
-
is it that I'm waking up. My alarm rang 4 a .m.
-
I didn't wake up with alarm. And then I'm up
-
right on time. I said all these things to say
-
this. Once you lose the consciousness of living
-
a spiritual life. You will start being conscious
-
of a kind of life more. Every time you are not
-
spirit minded. You will be carnally minded. And
-
once you are carnally minded, you cannot be able
-
to give expression to the things of the Spirit.
-
Even when you try it, you will know in your heart
-
that there is no connect with the Holy Ghost.
-
So we are in Christ. The Spirit is also what?
-
In us. And we established that we read Romans
-
chapter 10, verse 9 to 10, how a man becomes
-
saved. We also read John chapter 3, verse 16.
-
chapter 3. John chapter 3. So the church at Corinth
John 3 chapter mention
-
knows what is salvation because these people
-
are already saved. Why are we doing this? We
-
are doing this part because everything we are
-
discussing, You know, it's only for the ones
-
that are saved. And if you are not saved, you're
-
on this platform, you can be saved now as you're
-
hearing me. John chapter 3, verse 3 to 6. Jesus
-
answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I
-
say unto thee, except a man be born again, he
-
cannot see the kingdom of God. Because he must
-
say unto him, how can a man be born again when
-
he is old? Can he enter a second time into his
-
mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered, verily,
-
verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born
-
of water, which is the spirit, the Kairul now,
-
T -S -K -R -U -L, of water, which is the spirit,
-
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That
-
which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that
-
which is born of the spirit is what? His spirit.
-
Acts chapter 2. Acts chapter 2 verse 38 to 39.
Acts 2 chapter mention Acts 2:38–39
-
Acts chapter 2 verse 38 to 39. Then Peter said
-
unto them. Repent and be baptized. Every one
-
of you. In the name of Jesus Christ. In the resurrection
-
of Jesus Christ. For the remission of what? Of
-
sins. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus
-
Christ. That is what brought about the remission
-
of what? The remission of sins. Hallelujah. If
-
we go back to all the conversation. Of Peter.
-
He talked about how Christ was crucified. How
-
he died. And how he was what? How he was raised.
-
And the promise of the Holy Ghost. Was shed on
-
all flesh. Amen. So he ended up placing the verse
-
38, for the remission of sins and ye shall receive
-
the gift of what? The gift of what? Of the Holy
-
Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your
-
children and to all that are far off, even as
-
many as the Lord our God shall call. And then
-
we now also, 1st Galatians chapter 3. Galatians
Galatians 3 chapter mention Galatians 3 chapter mention
-
chapter 3. Galatians chapter 3. So the man that
Galatians 3 chapter mention
-
becomes saved, what does he receive? He receives
-
a gift. What is the gift he receives? He receives
-
the gift of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. So what
-
have we received as salvation? We have received
-
the gift of the Holy Ghost. Galatians chapter
-
3 verse 13. Galatians chapter 3 verse 13. He
-
said, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse
-
of the law. Be made a curse for us, for it is
-
written. Curse is everyone that hung everywhere
-
on a tree. Everybody, verse 14 now. That the
-
blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles.
-
Through who? Through Jesus Christ. What is this
-
blessing of Abraham? Everybody see. That we might
-
receive the promise of the Spirit through what?
-
Through faith. Hallelujah. So what have we received
-
as salvation? We received the Spirit of God.
-
1 Peter chapter 1 verse 3. 1 Peter chapter 1
-
verse 3. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 3. Blessed be
-
the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
-
who according to his abundant mercy has begotten
-
us again unto a lively hope. For some version
-
says that we have been born again unto a lively
-
hope. By what? How did we become born again?
-
By the resurrection of Jesus Christ. From where?
-
From the dead. Hallelujah. And we said on Sunday,
-
how does a man become born again? He believes
-
with his heart. What does a man believe? He believes
-
that God has raised Jesus Christ from where?
-
From the dead. And he confesses what with his
-
mouth. He confesses the Lord Jesus. He becomes
-
saved. So if you're on this platform and you
-
are not saved, I bring to you right now that
-
you can be saved and partake in the life of God
-
and also receive the Holy Ghost. And I will tell
-
you that God raised Jesus from the dead. Christ
-
died. He was buried and he was raised from the
-
dead for you. God does not delight in you being
-
or living a life under condemnation. What he
-
has for you is eternal life. What he has for
-
you is his own life. The gift he has for you
-
to validate his love for you is his Holy Ghost,
-
his own spirit. So if you're hearing me and you're
-
not saved, you're on this platform. I announce
-
to you that God loves you. Christ died for you
-
even before you knew it. While you were still
-
yet a sinner, the scripture says Christ had died
-
for you. He was buried for you. And he was raised
-
for you. That is what brings you into the life
-
of God. That is what you believe with your heart.
-
And with your mouth, you confess the Lord Jesus
-
Christ. So if you're hearing me this evening,
-
before we continue, you can confess the Lord
-
Jesus Christ with your mouth, believing with
-
your heart that God has raised him from the dead
-
for your sins. If you're hearing me, whether
-
you're in your room, you're driving, you're seated,
-
you're standing, you're on the way, you are and
-
can be saved. Because everything we're going
-
to continue discussing now in the next minutes
-
we have, you cannot be a participant of it. It
-
will be strange to you. So the man that has the
-
Spirit of God in him has all the things of God
-
in him. The Spirit of God in you, on Sunday we
-
say, is the evidence and the fulfillment of Jesus'
-
promise to the believer. Amen? So we have received
-
the promise, the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of God
-
in you is the evidence that Jesus is risen from
-
the grave. He is no longer in the grave. Luke
Luke 24 chapter mention
-
verse 1. Now upon the first day of the week.
-
Luke chapter 24 verse 1. Now upon the first day
-
of the week, very early in the morning, they
-
came unto the sepulcher, bringing the spices
-
which they had prepared and certain others with
-
them. And they found the stone rolled away from
-
the sepulcher, and they entered in and found
-
not the body of the Lord Jesus. Hallelujah. And
-
it came to pass, as they were much perplexed
-
thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in
-
shining garments. And as they were afraid and
-
bowed down their faces to the earth, they said
-
unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
-
He is not here, but he is risen. Hallelujah.
-
Remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet
-
in Galilee. Verse 7 now, everybody. Saying, the
-
Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of
-
sinful men and he be crucified at the third day.
-
Rise again. Hallelujah. Then now, everybody,
-
let's go to 36 now. That he be what? He be raised
-
again. But is that the evidence that Christ is
-
risen? That the stone is rolled away. The stone
-
is rolled away. Is that the evidence? Is that
-
the evidence that his body was not there? Is
-
that the evidence that Christ is risen? No. 36
-
now. And as they spoke, Luke 24, 36. And as they
-
spoke, please look at the lines of the scriptures,
-
everybody. And as they spoke. And as they speak,
-
Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and
-
said unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were
-
terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they
-
had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why
-
are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in
-
your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that
-
it is I myself. Handle me and see. For a spirit
-
hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have. Hallelujah.
-
And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his
-
hands and his feet. And while they yet believed
-
not for joy and wondered, he said unto them,
-
have ye any meat? He said, okay. And they gave
-
him a piece of broiled fish. And of a honeycomb.
-
And he took it. And did it before them. Hallelujah.
-
Is that the evidence that Christ is risen from
-
the grave? No. Is that the evidence because he
-
has eaten meat. And he has eaten fish. Is that
-
the evidence? No. And they gave him now. 44.
-
And he said unto them. These are the words which
-
I speak unto you while I was yet with you. Hallelujah.
-
That you will give me fish and you will give
-
me bread and I will eat and all things must be
-
fulfilled. Is that what the scripture says? Is
-
that what your Bible says? Is that what your
-
scripture says? That when Christ is giving fish
-
and bread, that the scripture is fulfilled? No,
-
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He says that
-
what, these are the words which I speak unto
-
you while I was yet with you, that all things
-
must be fulfilled, which were written in the
-
law of Moses and in the prophets and in the Psalms.
-
Concerning who? Concerning me. It's not the stone
-
being rolled away that is written concerning
-
him. That is what is the reason why, you know,
-
the evidence why he's risen. 45. Then open here
-
their understanding that they might understand
-
the scriptures. Everybody now stay with me. And
-
say unto them, those it is written that it behooves
-
Christ to what? To suffer and to rise from the
-
dead. The what? The third day. And that repentance.
-
Hallelujah. That repentance and remission of
-
sins should be what? Should be preached in his
-
name among all nations, beginning at what? Jerusalem.
-
And ye are what? Ye are witnesses of these things.
-
Hallelujah. And behold, as witnesses now, I send
-
the promise of the Father upon you, in the city
-
of Jerusalem. until ye be endued with power from
-
where from on high what are their weaknesses
-
they are witnesses of his death burial and resurrection
-
what will be the evidence that they are witnesses
-
that the spirit of god they shall receive power
-
from on high the spirit of god In the apostles,
-
in the disciples, now legalize them to be what?
-
Witnesses for Christ. They have become ambassadors
-
for Christ unto reconciliation. Same we see in
-
1 verse 8. Let's read it. Acts chapter 1 verse
-
4. And being assembled together with them, commanded
-
them that they should not depart from Jerusalem,
-
but wait for the promise of the Father, which
-
said he, ye have heard of me. For truly John
-
baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized
-
with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. But
-
ye shall receive power. After that, the Holy
-
Ghost is what? He's come upon you and ye shall
-
be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in
-
all Judea and in Samaria and unto the autumn
-
of what? Part of the earth. Hallelujah. They
-
are not receiving the Holy Ghost for the second
-
time. That was not what is happening with them.
-
Amen? So what Christ was telling them is not
-
that they are going to receive the Holy Spirit
-
the second time. We're going to look at what
-
is happening with them that Christ is speaking
-
to them. So we're going to look at the conversation
-
of Christ to them or his communication to them.
-
So what have we received? We have received the
-
Holy Ghost as the evidence that Jesus is risen.
-
And we have become his witnesses to preach repentance,
-
to preach his death, burial, and what? A resurrection.
-
So how will Jesus walk today on the earth? He
-
will walk through us as his witnesses. How will
-
Jesus walk on the earth today? He will walk in
-
the believer through his spirit. So the Spirit
-
of God in the believer will produce the outworkings
-
of God through the believer. Let me repeat it
-
again. The Spirit of God in the believer will
-
produce the outworkings of God through the believer.
-
The spirit of God in the believer will produce
-
the outwalkings of God through the believer.
-
So when we read Mark, for example, Mark chapter
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
16 now. Verse 17, everybody. Or let's start reading
-
from verse 15. Mark chapter 16. And he said unto
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
them, go ye into all the world and preach the
-
gospel to every creature. He that believeth and
-
is baptized shall be what? Saved. But he that
-
believeth not shall be damned. And this sign
-
shall follow them that what? Believe. In my name
-
shall they cast out devils. They shall speak
-
with new tongues. How are the believers doing
-
this? The Spirit of God through the believers.
-
Cursing them to cast out devils. Cursing them
-
to speak in what? In new tongues. They shall
-
take up serpents. The spirit of God. They shall
-
drink any deadly thing. It shall not hurt them.
-
The spirit of God. They shall lay hands on the
-
sick. And the sick shall recover. The spirit
-
of God. At work in you. Dear believer. How do
-
I know? Verse 20. And they went forth. And preached
-
everywhere. The Lord walking with them. Confirming
-
the word. With signs. How? Following. Where the
-
spirit of the Lord is. The Lord is. So how will
-
God. Heal to the believer. His spirit. How will
-
demons be casted. Through his spirit. Say, yes,
-
I receive power. After the Holy Ghost is what?
-
It's come upon you. His spirit validates the
-
believer as a true witness for Christ. Let me
-
say this. The spirit of God in you validates
-
you as the witness for Christ unto nations. So
-
when we read the book of Acts. What we see throughout
-
the book of Acts, what we see is manifestations
-
and expressions of the new birth. We see the
-
new birth from Acts chapter 2. Everybody, let's
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
Let's go to Acts chapter 2. When we go through
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
the book of Acts, what we see is manifestations.
-
What we see. His expressions of the new birth.
-
In the apostles. Acts chapter 2. From verse 1.
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come.
-
They were all with one accord in one place. And
-
suddenly. There came a sound from heaven. As
-
of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled. All
-
the house. Where they were sitting. And there
-
appeared unto them. Cloven tongues as of fire.
-
And he sat upon each of them. Everybody see verse
-
4 now. See verse 4 and the workings of the Holy
-
Ghost now. See verse 4. And they were all filled
-
with what? With the Holy Ghost. And the Holy
-
Ghost began to speak in tongues through them.
-
Is that what the scripture says? Who began to
-
speak in tongues? Please. Check your Bible very
-
well. Please ensure that you're working with
-
me. Check your Bible very well. And they were
-
filled with the Holy Ghost. And who began? Who
-
began to speak with other tongues? They began
-
to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave
-
what? Authorize. Let's read it this way. Brethren.
-
And they were filled with the Holy Ghost. And
-
the Spirit gave them utterance. And they began
-
to speak with what? With other tongues. They
-
were the ones speaking. The utterance was coming
-
from the Holy Ghost. They were the ones speaking.
-
The utterance was coming from where? From the
-
Holy Ghost. You know, I'm saying it now, sensitively
-
and carefully because of where we are going now.
-
In 1 Corinthians chapter 12. It's the Spirit
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
that gives the prophecy. The believer is the
-
one that prophesies. It's the Spirit that brings
-
word of knowledge. The believer is the one that
-
gives the word of knowledge. It's the Spirit
-
that brings word of wisdom. The believer is the
-
one that gives the word of what? If you're writing,
-
write this now, please. The Holy Spirit needs
-
your participation. The Holy Spirit needs your
-
participation for the life of God to be made
-
manifest. The Holy Spirit needs your active participation,
-
your conscious. for the life of God to be made
-
manifest. There cannot be the oppression of the
-
Spirit of God without your participation. Brethren,
-
when it comes to the oppression of the things
-
of the Holy Ghost, Holy Ghost, see, your conscience
-
and your acting and your deliberate participation
-
is needed. In fact, let me add another word again.
-
Your fervent participation. Your fervent participation.
-
Your fervent participation is needed when it
-
comes to the operations of the things of the
-
Spirit. And we saw immediately as they began
-
to speak with other tongues. In verse 14 now.
-
But Peter. Standing up. Being filled with the
-
Holy Ghost. Standing up. With the eleven. He
-
lifted up his voice. And said unto them. Ye men
-
of Judea. And all. Ye that dwell at Jerusalem.
-
Be these known unto you. And hearken unto my
-
words. Verse 17 now. Okay. Let's read down to
-
verse 17. For these are not drunken as ye suppose,
-
seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But
-
it is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel,
-
verse 17 now. Because we are coming now to all
-
this now. It shall come to pass in the last day,
-
said God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all
-
flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall
-
do what? Shall prophesy, and your young men shall
-
see visions, and your old men shall do what?
-
Shall dream dreams. Dear beloved brethren, the
-
Holy Ghost needs your participation. When it
-
comes to the manifestation of the things of the
-
Spirit, the Holy Spirit needs your participation.
-
When it comes to manifesting the kingdom of God,
-
Jesus needs your participation. When it comes
-
to prophecy, your participation is needed. Your
-
participation is needed. When it comes to healing
-
the sick, he said, these signs shall follow them
-
that believe. Because they believe and because
-
they have decided to go and obey their participation.
-
Working with the Holy Ghost. Makes that life
-
of God seen everywhere. He said they shall lay
-
hands on the sick. And the sick will be what?
-
Will be healed. You are not the one healing the
-
sick. Jesus needs your participation. He is the
-
one healing the sick. You are not the one fabricating
-
your tongues. Jesus needs your participation.
-
He is the one giving utterance and interpretation
-
of the tongues through you. You are not the one
-
fabricating your prophecy. Jesus is the one.
-
You know when I was in school in the university
-
in Nigeria. There is this church. I will not
-
say the name. However, they were deviating from
-
the main church. Because I know the main church
-
don't do that. That they have what they call
-
school of the spirit. That they will teach you
-
tongues. They teach tongues. They will say, Shabbala
-
Kata, Shabbala Kata. You will repeat all of you
-
that are attending the school. Shabbala Kata,
-
Shabbala Kata. Let me say the one that my pastor
-
in Zaria will always say. He will say, All of
-
you also will follow. Okay, can you join? You
-
can start there. Don't start mechanically. Start
-
it, start it, start it. Start it, start it. That
-
way now, you know, you can flow. The Holy Spirit
-
is not a locomotive train. He is not some sort
-
of manual spirit where you have to train people
-
to say some certain... You know that one? That
-
is called divination. That in their teaching
-
is called divinations and enchantments. Only
-
native doctors do that. Oh, glory to God. In
-
this kingdom, the Holy Ghost gives us utterance.
-
We just speak. Hallelujah. I just speak. I just
-
speak. He's giving utterance right now. He's
-
giving utterance right now. 24 hours, 7 days.
-
He is giving utterance right now because the
-
believer is connected and knitted with the Holy
-
chapter 15, John chapter 16, He said, He will
John 16 chapter mention
-
dwell in you forever. The Holy Ghost dwells in
-
me not for two weeks. How? Forever. And that
-
is why even right now, I can speak in tongues.
-
Hallelujah. Because he is the one that is giving
-
me utterance. I can prophesy right now because
-
he is the one giving me utterance. I can lay
-
hands on the sick and the sick will get healed
-
because Jesus is stretching for his hands through
-
me and healing the sick. So they were all filled
-
with the Holy Ghost. So what we see in the believers,
-
we're going to read Acts, Acts. We're going to
-
read so many places in the book of Acts and we'll
-
validate that. So they began to speak with tongues.
-
10. Your participation is needed. Acts chapter
-
10 verse 45. And day of the circumcision. Acts
-
chapter 10 verse 45. which believed were astonished.
-
And as many as came with Peter, because that
-
on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift
-
of the Holy Ghost. You remember Peter says for
-
everyone, right? Why are they astonished? 46,
-
for they heard them do what? Speak with tongues
-
and magnify God. Hallelujah. Then answered Peter.
-
They were filled with the Holy Ghost. And they
-
spoke in what? They spoke in tongues. Acts 19
-
19 verse 6. And when Paul had laid his hands
-
upon them. The Holy Ghost did what? Came upon
-
them. On them. And they spoke with what? With
-
tongues. And what? And prophesied. Hallelujah.
-
They were the ones that spoke in tongues. They
-
were the ones that did what? That prophesied.
-
Praise God. So now, what does it mean to be filled
-
with the Spirit? That's a big question there.
-
What does it mean to be what? To be filled with
-
the Spirit. What does it mean to be filled with
-
the Spirit? What does it mean to be filled with
-
the Spirit? We just read Acts chapter 2 verse
-
4. Let's go back there again. What does it mean
-
to be filled with the Spirit? What does it mean
-
to be filled with the Spirit? Acts chapter 2
-
verse 4. Acts chapter 2 verse 4. And they were
-
all what? Filled with the Spirit. Holy Ghost.
-
If you survive on the line of the world, you
-
will all be filled with the Holy Ghost. You will
-
be filled with the Holy Ghost. So on the line
-
of the world, filled with the Spirit. Can we
-
read a couple of scriptures that also talks about
-
being filled with the Spirit? Ephesians chapter
-
5 verse 16. Ephesians chapter 5 verse 16. Ephesians
-
5, verse 16. Redeeming the time because the days
-
are evil. Wherefore, be ye not unwise, but understanding
-
what the will of the Lord is. Verse 18. And be
-
not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be
-
what? But be filled with the Spirit. Semi -colon
-
there. What does it mean to be filled with the
-
Spirit? Speaking to yourselves in psalms and
-
hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
-
melody in your heart to who? To the Lord. Luke
-
chapter 1 verse 41. Luke chapter 1. We have just
Luke 1 chapter mention
-
five minutes and then we are done for this. Luke
-
chapter 1 verse 41. We can read the scriptures,
-
only the scriptures, and then we'll build on
-
it by God's grace on Sunday. Luke 1 .41. And
-
can you see everybody? And it came to pass that
-
when Elizabeth had the salutation of Mary, the
-
babe lived in her womb. And Elizabeth was what?
-
Was filled with the Holy Ghost. And she what?
-
There's a colon there. And she speak out with
-
a loud voice and said, bless a doll amongst what?
-
Women. In Acts, you were filled with the Holy
-
Ghost. They began to speak. Amen. In Ephesians
Ephesians 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5, you are filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
You begin to speak. Elizabeth was filled with
-
the Holy Ghost. He began to speak. Luke chapter
-
1 verse 67. Luke chapter 1 verse 67. And his
-
father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
And he did what? And he prophesied saying. Amen?
-
He began to speak. Can you see it, everybody?
-
Began to speak. Look at chapter 4, verse 1. Look
-
at chapter 4, verse 1. And Jesus, being full
-
of the Holy Spirit, returned from Jordan and
-
was led by the Spirit into what? Into the wilderness.
-
Big field of the Holy Ghost. Acts chapter 4.
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
Verse 30. Acts chapter 4 verse 30. Thank you
-
Holy Spirit. Acts chapter 4 verse 30. See what
-
the scripture says. By stretching forth. 30 31.
-
By stretching forth thy hand to heal. And the
-
signs and wonders may be done by the name of
-
thy holy child Jesus. 31. And when they had prayed.
-
The place was shaken. Where they were assembled
-
together and they were all filled with what?
-
With the Holy Ghost. And they speak the word
-
of God with what? With boldness. Acts chapter
-
9 verse 16 to 17. Acts chapter 9 verse 16 to
-
17. For I will show him now, I will show him
-
how great things he must suffer for my name's
-
sake. And Ananias went his way, and entered into
-
his house, and putting his hands on him, said,
-
But I saw the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared
-
unto thee, in the way as thou camest hast sent
-
me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and
-
be filled with what? With the Holy Ghost. You
-
can add these scriptures, Acts chapter 7, verse
-
chapter 13 was 9. Acts chapter 13 was 9. And
Acts 13 chapter mention
-
Acts chapter 6 was 3. So write this. What does
Acts 6 chapter mention
-
it mean to be filled with the Spirit? That word,
-
to be filled with the Spirit, to be filled, to
-
be filled, the Greek word to be filled means
-
pimplemi, P -I -M -P -L -E -M -I, or pleres.
-
P -I -M -P -L -E -M -I, pimplemi, or pleres.
-
p -l -e -r -e -s pimplemi opleres and that word
-
means to be thoroughly permeated to be confirmed
-
by the event of the influence please write this
-
one To be confirmed by the event of the influence.
-
Let me repeat myself. To be confirmed by the
-
event of the what? Of the influence. It means
-
to allow for the demonstration and the manifestation
-
of the gift of the Spirit. I have one more minute.
-
It means to allow for the demonstration and the
-
manifestation of the gift of the Spirit. It means
-
to allow for the demonstration or the manifestation
-
of the gift of the Spirit. Hallelujah. So which
-
means I end today by saying this. So which means
-
that only the man that has the spirit of God
-
can be able to manifest the things or can be
-
able to manifest the spirit of God. Let me say
-
it directly so that you will understand what
-
I'm saying now when we come. Only the man that
-
has the Spirit of God can manifest the Spirit
-
of God. Only the man that has the Spirit of God
-
can demonstrate the Spirit of God. Let me say
-
lastly, please. Please write this statement boldly
-
because it's upon this reality that we are going
-
to experience and see all the things that we'll
-
keep seeing much more. Only the man that has
-
the spirit of God can manifest the spirit of
-
God. Only the man that has the spirit of God
-
can demonstrate the spirit of God. Why? Because
-
we say the man that has the spirit of God has
-
all the things of God in him. Hallelujah. Jesus
-
will say, he shall give, he shall transfer all
-
that is mine to you. He shall give you all that
-
is mine. He shall give it unto you. Praise God.
-
So when we come, the next time by God's grace,
-
we are going to build upon this. Hallelujah.
-
You see now, I began by saying that the church
-
at Corinth had all that is in Christ in them.
-
Hallelujah. Because Paul had already told them
-
that, that they are enriched in everything. Praise
-
God. So the believer, we are seeing now also
-
that you are also enriched in everything. How
-
are you enriched in everything? Because you have
-
the Spirit of God. How did you have the Spirit
-
of God? Where did you get the Spirit of God from?
-
At salvation. Salvation, how? Because Jesus...
-
died he was buried and what he was raised from
-
where from the dead hallelujah we appreciate
-
