  1. Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. I want to thank the pastorate for the

  6. opportunity. And I also want to thank you for

  7. being here today. So today we're going to be

  8. looking into the Word of God and our topic today

  9. is going to be being sensitive to the leading

  10. of the Holy Spirit. Praise the Lord. Being sensitive

  11. to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I would encourage

  12. us to pay attention. I would encourage us to

  13. not be distracted by our phones. I would encourage

  14. us to... be blessed. Praise the Lord. Because

  15. you can decide not to be. So, to put away every

  16. form of destruction, everything that would make

  17. you not pay attention, you have worn a very beautiful

  18. dress and clothes. Don't waste your time. Praise

  19. the Lord. Matthew 28. So this is where Jesus

  20. was talking with his disciples, finally, before

  21. he departed from their sight, praise the Lord,

  22. and he was giving them a command, and he was

  23. telling them things that they should do, or how

  24. they should move. And then from verse 18 he says,

  25. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All

  26. authority has been given to me in heaven and

  27. on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of

  28. all nations, baptizing them in the name of the

  29. Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching

  30. them to observe all things that I have commanded

  31. you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the

  32. end of the age. Amen. Praise the Lord. So Jesus

  33. was talking to his disciples, and he was giving

  34. them a command. He says that all authority has

  35. been given to him in heaven and on earth. Praise

  36. the Lord. He said, go and make disciples. Go

  37. and make disciples. That word, go and make disciples,

  38. is the word for teach. Praise the Lord. Go and

  39. teach all the nation. It's the word matatio.

  40. Praise the Lord in Greek. It's the word matatio.

  41. It is M -A -T -T -E -T -E -U -O. Praise the Lord.

  42. So it's the word. To teach is the same word that

  43. is used in Matthew chapter 13 verse 52. Matthew

    Matthew 13:52 Matthew 13:52

  44. chapter 13 verse 52. Matthew chapter 13 verse

    Matthew 13:52

  45. 52. He says, Then he said to them, Therefore

  46. every scribe instructs on signing the kingdom

  47. of heaven like a householder who brings out the

  48. treasures of things new and old. Praise the Lord.

  49. So it's the word there instructs. Praise the

  50. Lord. And then we also see in Matthew chapter

    Matthew 27:21

  51. 27 verse 21. Matthew chapter 27 verse 21. No.

    Matthew 27:21

  52. Let's go to Acts chapter 14, verse 21. Acts chapter

    Acts 14:21 Acts 14:21

  53. 14, verse 21. And when they had preached the

  54. gospel to the city and made many disciples, they

  55. returned to Lastria, Iconia and Antioch. Praise

  56. the Lord. So that word, they made many disciples,

  57. right, is the word there. It means... The process

  58. of learning, right? They took them through a

  59. process of learning. It's the same word that

  60. we see here, matatu, which it means to teach.

  61. Praise the Lord. But then we see in verse 20

  62. of that Matthew. We see in verse 20, he says,

  63. teaching them to observe all the things that

  64. I've commanded you and lo, I'm with you always.

  65. Praise the Lord. Paso Victor has helped us many

  66. times with this word teaching. It's the word

  67. didasco, which is the opposite of experience.

  68. Praise the Lord. So this teaching here is not

  69. the same as what we saw earlier. It's a teaching

  70. them, right, to observe all the things that I've

  71. commanded you and lo, I'm with you always. The

  72. word teaching there is the word didasco, which

  73. is opposite of teaching, which is opposite of

  74. experience, right? It comes with... Explanation

  75. and instructions. Praise the Lord. It's like

  76. going to school. You don't go to school to get

  77. experience. You go to school to learn and then

  78. it becomes your experience. Praise the Lord.

  79. This word is a very large word depending on the

  80. text. So it carries a lot of implication depending

  81. on the text. It involves explaining. And then

  82. giving instructions. Praise the Lord. So what

  83. is he telling them to teach? Why is he telling

  84. them? Why is he using that word, the dash code

  85. there? Right? So what are they explaining? What

  86. they are explaining or what they are teaching

  87. is all authority has been given to me. Praise

  88. the Lord. In verse 18. Right? He said, all authority

  89. has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

  90. What are they going to teach? They are going

  91. to teach that all authority has been given to

  92. him in heaven and on earth. Praise the Lord.

  93. So instructing them. And then he instructs them

  94. to go and teach. Praise the Lord. So the instructions

  95. there is to go and teach. Praise the Lord. We

  96. say the word didasko carries with it two things.

  97. It carries an explanation of a thing and also

  98. an instruction that follows. Praise the Lord.

  99. So the leading of the Spirit involves an explanation

  100. and also an instruction. Praise the Lord. The

  101. leading of the Spirit carries an explanation

  102. and then it carries an instruction. You're led

  103. by the Spirit when you hear the explanation and

  104. then you follow the instruction afterwards. Praise

  105. the Lord. You're led by the Spirit when you hear

  106. the instruction. As the word is coming, you are

  107. hearing an explanation. Praise the Lord. There

  108. is an instruction that would follow. You're led

  109. by the Spirit when you follow the instruction.

  110. Praise the Lord. So when the gospel is preached,

  111. an explanation is done. Right? An explanation

  112. is done and afterwards we have an instruction.

  113. Praise the Lord. They should not be separate.

  114. When the gospel is preached, there is an explanation,

  115. and then there is also an instruction that follows.

  116. So we see here that what he was telling them

  117. to go and explain, or go and explain, is that

  118. all authority has been given me in heaven and

  119. on earth. Praise the Lord. So sometimes we get

  120. carried away by the explanation of the thing.

  121. Or maybe you come and then somebody is preaching.

  122. You're so good. You are having a good time. You

  123. are laughing. And then you forget that there

  124. is an instruction in the teaching that is given

  125. you. Praise the Lord. You forget that it is an

  126. instruction in the midst of that teaching. As

  127. you are enjoying the service. As you are listening.

  128. Praise the Lord. There is an instruction that

  129. comes. So we should not be carried away by it.

  130. Or maybe there is an instruction and then you

  131. forget about the explanation. Praise the Lord.

  132. They go hand in hand. Praise the Lord. So we'll

  133. see that more even as we look into the text.

  134. Hallelujah. So what is he explaining? Right?

  135. So explanation is what something is about. Right?

  136. Explanation is what something is about and why.

  137. Praise the Lord. What something is about and

  138. why. So it is not good enough to just know what

  139. something is about and not know the reason behind

  140. it. And not know the why, because the why is

  141. the reason. Praise the Lord. The why is the reason.

  142. Why did Jesus have to die? Have you asked that

  143. question? Why is it that I grew up in a Christian

  144. home? What makes me different from somebody else?

  145. Why is it that I believe the things that I believe?

  146. Why did Jesus perform the miracles that he performed

  147. in the scriptures? Why did God give believers

  148. authority? Praise the Lord. Why did God give

  149. you authority? So an explanation is what something

  150. is about and why. Why did Jesus walk miracle?

  151. Why do you have the life of God in the inside

  152. of you? Why are you a Christian? Praise the Lord.

  153. So these are questions that we need to ask. These

  154. are questions that we need to ask. And I say

  155. didactical is not an experience, right? You don't

  156. go to school, like I said, to learn, to get experience.

  157. You go to school to learn and then it becomes

  158. your experience. Praise the Lord. You go to school

  159. to learn, right? It becomes your experience.

  160. You go to school to listen. You go to school

  161. to learn. You go to school to ask questions.

  162. Why is that? Praise the Lord. If your teacher

  163. is teaching you calculus, if you don't ask why,

  164. you're probably not in the class. Praise the

  165. Lord. So who are they teaching? Teaching who?

  166. It's teaching the disciples, those who are learning,

  167. right, to observe. To observe the things that

  168. he has commanded them. So verse 20 again, he

  169. said, teaching them to observe. So the word observe

  170. is tareo, right? In the Greek, it's T -E -R -O,

  171. sorry, R -E -O, right? It's used to watch over.

  172. The way it's used is that watch over something

  173. as though it will get lost. Praise the Lord.

  174. You should watch over something as though that

  175. thing will get lost. So he's telling them to

  176. observe. To observe, tario. To watch as though

  177. it will get lost. Watch the things that have

  178. commanded you as though it's going to get lost.

  179. As though it's going to get missing. Praise the

  180. Lord. When you're watching something as though

  181. it's going to get missing, you be vigilant. You

  182. will not allow it to... To just, you will not

  183. take your eyes off it. When I came to Cyprus,

  184. I saw that the fences were low. In Nigeria, you

  185. don't build like that. You're not a good engineer.

  186. You don't think about security. Praise the Lord.

  187. You build with a high fence. Some people pride

  188. themselves on how long their fence is. If you

  189. go to the Emya Palace in the north, you'll find

  190. out that the fence is very, very long. Intentionally

  191. very, very long. Praise the Lord. He's part of

  192. the design. He's the way he should be. Praise

  193. the Lord. So he's saying you should watch, you

  194. should observe as though the things that he has

  195. commanded will get lost. Praise the Lord. It

  196. is used like that. So a man who is led of the

  197. Spirit is a man that observes as though the things

  198. that he has been commanded will get lost. As

  199. the word is coming, as you have received the

  200. word, you are watching over it. You're being

  201. mindful as though the thing will get lost. Praise

  202. the Lord. You're not just forgetting. You're

  203. not a forgetful hearer, but you pay attention.

  204. Hallelujah. So we see this in the same thing

  205. that he tells us. Something similar, right? To

  206. watch over yourself. We see in 1 Timothy chapter

    1 Timothy 4:12–16

  207. 4, verse 12 to 16. 1 Timothy chapter 4, verse

    1 Timothy 4:4–16

  208. 4 to 16. It says, let no one despise your youth.

  209. 4th of verse 12 to 16. Give attention to reading,

  210. to exaltation, to doctrines. Do not neglect the

  211. gift that is in you which was given to you by

  212. the prophecies with the laying on of the hands

  213. of the eldership. Meditate on these things, give

  214. yourself entirely to them, that your progress

  215. may be evident to all. So take heed to yourself

  216. and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in

  217. doing this you will save both yourself and those

  218. who hear you. Praise the Lord. We see here that

  219. Paul is admonishing Timothy and he's telling

  220. him to pay attention. He said, pay attention

  221. to the doctrine, the things that you have learned.

  222. Pay attention to the things that you have. Pay

  223. attention to the life that you have in God. Praise

  224. the Lord. Take heed to reading. Hallelujah. And

  225. then we also saw in that place, In that verse

  226. 20, the second part of it, it says, Lord, I'm

  227. with you always to the end of the age. Amen.

  228. So the word Lord is the word that is used to

  229. see. It's a word which means see. It's a word

  230. see. So in teaching the gospel, we do two things.

  231. I say first, we give an explanation. Praise the

  232. Lord. We saw it in verse 18. So the explanation

  233. is that verse 18, all power has been given to

  234. him. That's what you're explaining. Praise the

  235. Lord. So in verse 20, now say observe. He said,

  236. lo, I'm with you. So he's telling them, right?

  237. He's giving them instruction to observe. So in

  238. teaching the gospel, there is an explanation

  239. and there is an instruction. So the observe there

  240. is to, is an instruction. He's telling them observe.

  241. Praise the Lord. So he's teaching them the explanation.

  242. So what he's teaching them is the explanation

  243. of all things, all power has been given to me.

  244. Praise the Lord. The explanation there is all

  245. power has been given me in heaven and on earth.

  246. So all power has been given me in heaven and

  247. on earth. That is the explanation of what Jesus

  248. just did. So in case you're wondering, all power

  249. has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

  250. What is he talking about? He's talking about

  251. that he has died, he has risen, and he's at the

  252. right hand of the Father. Praise the Lord. So

  253. it's a short form to say I have died. I have

  254. resurrected and I'm at the right hand of the

  255. Father. That is the explanation of all power.

  256. Praise the Lord. That is the explanation. Praise

  257. the Lord. So, it's the explanation of the gospel.

  258. Hallelujah. So, again, he says to observe and

  259. know and with you. So, he's telling them there

  260. are two things they need to pay attention to.

  261. Or there are two things that they need to be

  262. allotted by. One is to observe. One is to observe,

  263. to watch as though something is going to get

  264. missing. And then the other one is to look, to

  265. see. So in the Christian walk, the Christian

  266. walk is a watchful experience. It's not a careless

  267. life. Praise the Lord. You don't just live it

  268. as you please. It is a watchful experience. You

  269. say, observe. It's a law in which you see, look.

  270. So the Christian walk is a watchful experience.

  271. You need to pay attention to your life. You need

  272. to pay attention to your walk. You need to pay

  273. attention to it. Praise the Lord. He said, watch

  274. as though he's going to get lost. Watch as though

  275. he's going to get lost. Observe. Praise the Lord.

  276. So the believer who is growing has this alertness

  277. in him. Praise the Lord. The believer who is

  278. growing. who is maturing, has this alertness

  279. in him to watch, to see. Praise the Lord. To

  280. watch over himself, to watch the things that

  281. he hears, to watch the lifestyle around him.

  282. Praise the Lord. So the key ingredient for a

  283. growing or a maturing Christian is to stay alert.

  284. Praise the Lord. He does not let anything just

  285. fly. It's to watch, it's to be mindful. Praise

  286. the Lord. is to be mindful, to stay awake. So

  287. I said the word, lo, I'm with you always, is

  288. the word to see, right? I said, I'm with you

  289. always. But by account, we know that when he

  290. said, lo, I'm with you always, even to the end

  291. of the age, he left them. Praise the Lord. He

  292. was not with them again, right? But then he said,

  293. I'm with you always. So why did he leave them?

  294. If he's just told them that I'm with you always.

  295. But he left. He goes away. So where is he with

  296. them? Praise the Lord. Because he said he's with

  297. them always. So where is he with them? So he's

  298. letting them know or he's telling them the fulfillment

  299. of the things that he has said before to them.

  300. Praise the Lord. So he's telling them the fulfillment

  301. of the things that he has said to them earlier

  302. or before. So to observe all these things, as

  303. we said, to observe the things I've commanded

  304. you in verse 20. He's saying to them that the

  305. things that I've said to you before has come

  306. to pass. Praise the Lord. To observe all the

  307. things I've commanded you. And then we see, I'm

  308. always with you. He's trying to tell them that

  309. the things I've commanded to you or the things

  310. I've said to you earlier, they have come to pass.

  311. And we're going to see that. Praise the Lord.

  312. The things have come to pass. So by seeing or

  313. by saying law and saying observe means that they

  314. are aware of the things that Christ is talking

  315. about. Praise the Lord. So when he says to them,

  316. observe, and he says, look. I'm with you always.

  317. They know what he's talking about. They are not

  318. confused about what he's talking about. Praise

  319. the Lord. They are very aware of the things that

  320. he's saying. But let's also be aware of ourselves.

  321. Praise the Lord. John chapter 14. John chapter

John 14 chapter mention John 14 chapter mention

  322. 14. From verse 1 to 3. He said, Let not your

  323. heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe

  324. also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions.

  325. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go

  326. to prepare a place for you. Verse 3. If I go

  327. and prepare a place for you, I will come again

  328. and receive you to myself. That where I am, there

  329. you will be also. Praise the Lord. That where

  330. I am, there you will be also. And we'll be doing

  331. this teaching several times about in my father's

  332. house are many mansions. So I believe that some

  333. of us know this, but I will try to also help

  334. those who don't know this. So in my father's

  335. house, right, that word house is more like a

  336. word of like household, right? It's a word okia,

  337. all right, which means a dwelling place. Praise

  338. the Lord. It's the root word for like somebody

  339. dwelling with his family. Hallelujah. In my father's

  340. house is the word okia, right? The word household.

  341. It's the word household in the root word. It's

  342. where somebody stays with his family. And he

  343. says, in my father's house are many mansions.

  344. So the word mansion are the word meneo, which

  345. means, right, a place. or where you stay, or

  346. a space. Praise the Lord. He said, I go to prepare

  347. a place for you. If you were not so, I would

  348. have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.

  349. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I'll

  350. come again and receive you to myself. Now, where

  351. I am, you will be also. I go to prepare a place

  352. for you, right? It's different from saying, Let

  353. us create a place because the children are running

  354. around or the instrumentalists do not have a

  355. room or do not have a space for their instrument.

  356. So let's create somewhere. Let's create somewhere

  357. for them. And then we build something outside

  358. or maybe there's a storage outside and we build

  359. something there. It's different from that. It

  360. means that you added to the building. Praise

  361. the Lord. It's different from that. I go to prepare

  362. a place for you is meaning that it's more like

  363. I am making room for you. Praise the Lord. It's

  364. like I'm making room for you. I go to prepare

  365. a place is I go to prepare a room for you. That

  366. is, I'm adding you to a family. So if I make

  367. a room for you, I'm adding you to something.

  368. Praise the Lord. So if I prepare a room for you

  369. here, it means that I am adding you to this family.

  370. Remember what we said earlier, that the word

  371. in my father's house is saying, it means that

  372. he is more like a place, a person living with

  373. a family. So I'm adding you to this family. Praise

  374. the Lord. I'm adding you to this family. So he's

  375. an inclusion of men. He's not an inclusion of...

  376. more spaces outside the building. It's an inclusion

  377. of men. Praise the Lord. It is an inclusion of

  378. men. It means that people are added to the dwellers

  379. of that place. Praise the Lord. It's not a building.

  380. It's not more building for people. Praise the

  381. Lord. It's that people are added to a place.

  382. It's an inclusion of men. Verse 3. The second

  383. part of it says, that where I am, you will be

  384. also. That where I am, you will be also. So this

  385. is a very strong word that is used. Where I am,

  386. you will be also, right? It's not talking about

  387. like the way we are now in this place. I say,

  388. where I am, you will be also. Saying that as

  389. the way Tito is there, he's also here with me.

  390. He's not the same. That's not what he's saying.

  391. Where I am, you will be also. He's not saying

  392. that you will be around me. Hallelujah. He's

  393. not saying that you would be around me. He's

  394. not saying that you will be in the presence of

  395. me. Praise the Lord. So, For example, Femi is

  396. here now, right? Is Femi where I am? Okay. In

  397. English, it means that he's where I am. Praise

  398. the Lord. But for him to be where I am, he has

  399. to be here. At where I am. Praise the Lord. So

  400. this is a very strong word that is used. It means

  401. that you are there where Christ is. It means

  402. that you are in him. Praise the Lord. That where

  403. I am you will be also is saying that you are

  404. here with him. You are in the inside of him.

  405. That is that the same place he's standing is

  406. where you are standing. Praise the Lord. The

  407. same place he's standing is where you're standing.

  408. It's a union of places. Like he's no longer far

  409. away from me but in the inside of me. So he stands

  410. where I stand. Hallelujah. So that means that

  411. you are in him and he is in you. That where I

  412. am you will be also means that he is in you and

  413. you are in him. Praise the Lord. So he goes further

  414. to explain this again in verse 10. He says, do

  415. you not believe that I am in the Father and the

  416. Father is in me? And the Father is in me. The

  417. word that I speak to you, I do not speak of my

  418. own authority, but the Father who dwells in me

  419. does the work. Praise the Lord. So he says in

  420. verse 9, he said, If you see me, you have seen

  421. the Father. And Jesus said to him, I have been

  422. with you so long, and yet you have not known

  423. me. And Philip said to him, Philip, you have

  424. not known me, Philip. He who has seen me has

  425. seen the Father. So how can you say, show me?

  426. Show us the Father. Praise the Lord. So, he said,

  427. if you see me, you have seen the Father. In verse

  428. 9. Right? So, where is he? Where is Jesus? Hmm?

  429. Where is Jesus? Where is he? No, according to

  430. where we are reading right now. In verse 10 and

  431. verse 9. Right? Where is Jesus? Right? And where

  432. is the Father? Praise the Lord. So he's saying

  433. that he's in the Father and the Father is in

  434. him. Praise the Lord. So we also see that again

  435. in the verse 3 part. He says that where I am,

  436. there you would be also. Praise the Lord. So

  437. where is Jesus? He's in the Father and the Father

  438. is in him. So where are we? Hallelujah. Do you

  439. understand that? Okay. Verse 16. It said, And

  440. I will pray the Father, and he will give you

  441. another helper, that he may abide with you forever.

  442. Praise the Lord. The word I will pray the Father,

  443. or I will pray the Father, is the word, which

  444. is E -R -O -T -A -O. Praise the Lord. Right?

  445. I will pray the Father. Right? It's a very strong

  446. word as well. It's used. The prayer there is

  447. not like begging. I will beg the Father. Praise

  448. the Lord. That he will give you another comforter.

  449. It's a word that is a demand. He said, I will

  450. make a demand. It's a word for I pray that we

  451. see there is I will make a demand. Praise the

  452. Lord. I will make a demand. It's not for begging.

  453. It's not like, please do this for me. Praise

  454. the Lord. I would make a demand to make a legitimate

  455. request because of what you have done. Praise

  456. the Lord. It's a word to make a legitimate request

  457. for what you have done or the work that you have

  458. fulfilled. Praise the Lord. It's like completing

  459. a project. You have a building project and you

  460. completed it and maybe you are in Nigeria. And

  461. you know, sometimes government projects, they

  462. don't give you money. You have to do it first

  463. and then they will give you money. Praise the

  464. Lord. So when you go to demand your pay, you're

  465. not going to beg. You have done the work. Praise

  466. the Lord. So that's the word there, I pray the

  467. Father. It's a word that is demanding something

  468. because of what I have done. Praise the Lord.

  469. So when he says, I will pray the Father, and

  470. he will give you another helper that he may abide

  471. with you forever. Right? He's that, I will pray

  472. the father. And the reason why he can pray the

  473. father is because he's going to die and he's

  474. going to be buried and he's going to be resurrected.

  475. And because of that, he will pray the father.

  476. He will make a demand for you. Praise the Lord.

  477. Because of what he has done. And the things he

  478. has done is that he died, he was buried and he

  479. resurrected. Praise the Lord. So there is a legitimate

  480. thing that is being done here. There is a legitimate

  481. request that is being asked for from here. Praise

  482. the Lord. So I will pray the Father and what

  483. we'll see in verse 2, that I go to prepare a

  484. place for you. And if I go and prepare a place

  485. for you, I will come again and receive you to

  486. myself. That where I am, you will be also. They

  487. are the same thing. Praise the Lord. They are

  488. synonyms or they are the same thing. I will pray

  489. the Father. That he will give you another comforter.

  490. Right? And what we saw in verse 2 that talks

  491. about, I go to prepare a place for you. He's

  492. talking about the same thing. Praise the Lord.

  493. He's talking about the same thing. In verse 9

  494. says, as we saw, he said, if you see me, you

  495. have seen the Father. I am in the Father and

  496. the Father is in me. Right? I dwell in the Father

  497. and the Father dwells in me. Praise the Lord.

  498. So let's read from verse 12 to 17 now. Keep my

  499. commandment. And I will pray the Father, and

  500. he will give you another helper, that he may

  501. abide with you forever. The Spirit of truth,

  502. whom the world cannot receive, because it neither

  503. sees him nor know him. But you have known him,

  504. for he dwells with you and will be in you. Praise

  505. the Lord. The he there, as we know, is talking

  506. about the father, right? So he said, you will

  507. know the father because he dwells in the inside

  508. of you, verse 17. You will know the father because

  509. he dwells in the inside of you. So what we saw

  510. from verse 2 to 3 tells us that in my father's

  511. house are many mansions. If it were not so, I

  512. would have told you, I go to prepare a place

  513. for you. And if I go and prepare a place for

  514. you, I will come again and receive you to myself.

  515. That where I am, there you would be also. What

  516. would Jesus do? He says that he's going to go

  517. and he's going to come back. He says, I go to

  518. prepare a place for you and I will come again

  519. and receive you to myself. Right? So how is he

  520. going to do that? How is he going to go and come

  521. back? How is he going to do that? We see that

  522. in verse 10. He said, if you believe in me, right?

  523. Do you not believe that I am in the Father and

  524. the Father is in me? The words that I speak to

  525. you, I do not speak of my own authority, but

  526. the Father who dwells in me does this work. Praise

  527. the Lord. So the Father that dwells in him will

  528. dwell in us. Praise the Lord. The Father that

  529. dwells in him will dwell in us. Praise the Lord.

  530. Hallelujah. Same verse this thing. He says, and

  531. I will pray the Father and he will give you another

  532. helper that he may abide with you forever. Right?

  533. Other scriptures will say another comforter.

  534. So the word another, Or the word another helper

  535. is the word alios parakletos. Praise the Lord.

  536. Alios parakletos. A -double -L -O -S is alios.

  537. And parakletos is P -A -R -A -K -L -E -T -O -S.

  538. Arius Paracletus. This Arius is a word for another.

  539. It's the same word as well. It has another word

  540. called Heteros. Right? It's the word H -E -T

  541. -R -O -S. Heteros. It means another. Praise the

  542. Lord. So, let me try to explain this. So, example,

  543. as a church, we came here with the bus. Right?

  544. We came here with a bus. And let's say they were

  545. supposed to come back and pick us back to our

  546. various destination. And then the bus came. He

  547. brought the bus. And then we found that the bus

  548. is faulty. Or the bus is not going. And then

  549. I say, give us another bus. Because the one you

  550. brought is not working. Give us another bus.

  551. And then you brought another bus. But this other

  552. bus you brought. He's a Mercedes bus. Praise

  553. the Lord. Maybe the previous one you bought was

  554. a Toyota. But then you brought a Mercedes bus.

  555. Praise the Lord. So, you gave us another bus,

  556. but it's a different kind of bus because it's

  557. a Mercedes. Praise the Lord. It is a different

  558. kind of bus. So this is another, but it's not

  559. the same. Praise the Lord. But in this place,

  560. right, we also see when Jesus was talking about

  561. this word, another, when he used it in Acts chapter

    Acts 2:4

  562. 2, verse 4. Speaking in tongues. Acts chapter

    Acts 2:4

  563. 2, verse 4. And they were filled with the Holy

  564. Spirit and began to speak with other tongues

  565. as the Spirit gave them utterance. So this word,

  566. another, sorry. Another tongue is talking about

  567. another kind of speaking. A different kind of

  568. speaking. Another type of speaking. Praise the

  569. Lord. But here, when we said, alios parakletis,

  570. he's talking about the same. Praise the Lord.

  571. He's talking about the same. Because what have

  572. we been talking about? What has the discussion

  573. been? The discussion has been that God... is

  574. in him and him in God. Praise the Lord. We've

  575. been asking, where is Jesus? He's in God. God

  576. is in him. Praise the Lord. So he's talking about

  577. the same. Right? This another is not different.

  578. He's the same. Praise the Lord. So Elias Paracletus

  579. is talking about the same. Praise the Lord. So

  580. he's saying that the way the Father dwells in

  581. me, is the same way he's going to dwell in you.

  582. Praise the Lord. So that's what he's saying,

  583. that the same way the Father dwells in me is

  584. the same way he's going to dwell in you. That

  585. is alios parakletos. The way the Father dwells

  586. in me, he also will dwell in the inside of you.

  587. The same way the Father dwells in me, he will

  588. dwell in you. The same way that I dwell in the

  589. Father, I will also dwell in you. Praise the

  590. Lord. And said he would abide with you forever.

  591. He would abide with you forever. Does that not

  592. look like verse 2 as well? Verse 2, the B part

  593. of it said, that, sorry. Okay, verse 3, the B

  594. part of it tells you what? He says that where

  595. I am, you would be also. Praise the Lord. He

  596. said that he may dwell with you forever. So in

  597. verse 18 now says, verse 18, he said, I will

  598. not leave you orphans. I would come to you. Praise

  599. the Lord. I will come to you. So, but he has

  600. been saying that where I am, you would be also.

  601. So I will come to you. It's not a rapture, right?

  602. It's that I will come in the inside of you. That

  603. where I am, you will be also. That's what he's

  604. saying. That I will come to you is where I am,

  605. you will be also. Praise the Lord. So Jesus is

  606. talking about indwelling. Praise the Lord. Jesus

  607. is talking about indwelling. Indwelling. Indwelling.

  608. Matthew chapter 28. Matthew chapter 28. Matthew

Matthew 28 chapter mention Matthew 28 chapter mention Matthew 28:20

  609. chapter 28, verse 20. And it says, teaching them

  610. to observe all the things that I've commanded

  611. you and lo, I'm with you even to the end of the

  612. age. Right? To observe. What are they to observe?

  613. They are to observe that he has come to them.

  614. Praise the Lord. They are to observe that he

  615. has come to them. We are to observe that God

  616. has come to us. Praise the Lord. We are to observe

  617. that there is an indwelling. Praise the Lord.

  618. We are to observe that he is in us. We are to

  619. observe that he is in us. We need to pay attention

  620. that the Father is in us. Praise the Lord. We

  621. need to pay attention that the Father is in us.

  622. So when he said, Lord, I'm with you always, he's

  623. saying that I will come, to say that I will come

  624. to you, right, does not mean something else.

  625. He's talking about that I will come in you. Praise

  626. the Lord. That I will come in the inside of you.

  627. Verse 12 of John 14. More assuredly, I say to

  628. you, he who believes in me, the work that I do,

  629. will he do also. Greater works than these he

  630. will do. Because I go to the Father. Praise the

  631. Lord. So what work is this person going to do?

  632. Right? What is Jesus leading us to do? What is

  633. the work that Jesus is leading us to do? What

  634. greater works are you doing? In verse 20 of Matthew

  635. 28, it tells us that he will teach them. They

  636. say, go and teach them to observe. Praise the

  637. Lord. So the leading of Christ or the leading

  638. of Jesus in our lives is to go and preach the

  639. gospel. Praise the Lord. It's to go and preach

  640. and teach the gospel. It's to go and preach and

  641. teach the gospel. Matthew chapter 10, verse 1.

    Matthew 10:1

  642. And when he had called the twelve disciples to

  643. him, he gave them power of an unclean spirit

  644. to cast them out and to heal all kind of sickness

  645. and all kind of disease. Praise the Lord. But

  646. then, before then, he was talking about that

  647. the harvest is... is plenteous, but the laborers

  648. are few. Chapter 9, verse 37 to 38. So Jesus

  649. has called them and he says to them, go and teach.

  650. But then he says in chapter 9, verse 37, then

  651. he said to his disciples, the harvest is truly,

  652. truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.

  653. Therefore pray. the Lord of the harvest, to send

  654. out laborers into his harvest. Praise the Lord.

  655. But then we see in the next chapter, what did

  656. he do? 10 verse 1. Then he called his 12 disciples

  657. and gave them power over unclean spirits to cast

  658. them out and to heal all kind of sicknesses and

  659. all kind of disease. Praise the Lord. So he has

  660. called them, he said to them that the laborers

  661. are few. They should pray the Lord of the harvest

  662. to send them, but he's sending them. Praise the

  663. Lord. So he tells them that the laborers are

  664. few, but he sent them. Praise the Lord. So when

  665. he says that the Lord of the harvest, what he

  666. said the Lord of the harvest would do, he did.

  667. Praise the Lord. He said he should pray for what?

  668. Laborers. And then he sent out the laborers.

  669. Praise the Lord. So he leads us to preach the

  670. gospel. Praise the Lord. So don't be concerned

  671. about how many are you. Praise the Lord. There

  672. is a leading already for you to go and preach

  673. the gospel. Praise the Lord. He said he leads

  674. and sent. Praise the Lord. What kind of leading

  675. again does Jesus lead us to? He leads us to give.

  676. Praise the Lord. He leads us to give. He leads

  677. us to forgive. Luke chapter 17, verse 1 to 10.

    Luke 17:1–10

  678. He leaves us to forgive. To give to those in

  679. need. Praise the Lord. To give to those in need.

  680. So when was the last time you listened to God

  681. tell you, go and preach. Go and preach to somebody

  682. and you did it. Not about talking about church

  683. service or fellowship or they gave you the...

  684. you know, assign you to something, to go and

  685. preach. When last did you hear that leading?

  686. When last did you hear God tell you that somebody

  687. is in need, that you need to help, or you had

  688. a conversation, you were passing, and somebody

  689. is talking to a friend and talking about how

  690. they are suffering, and you overheard it, and

  691. the Spirit prompts you to do something, and then

  692. you say, ah, there you go, no consigning, because

  693. you don't know them. Praise the Lord. When last

  694. did you obey that voice to help? What did you

  695. do when you had to help somebody? He leads us

  696. to forgive. He leads us to heal the sick. We're

  697. going to look into this more broadly on Wednesday.

  698. He leads us to pray. Not prayer cruise. Praise

  699. the Lord. Or prayer chains that we have. When

  700. we have prayer cruise, he leads us to pray. We

  701. came to pray for the whole day. When did you

  702. pray? Do you hear the leading to go and pray?

  703. The Spirit leads us to pray, to make intercessions.

  704. Praise the Lord. I remember one experience that

  705. I really recall. One day I just woke up in the

  706. night, middle of the night, and I was just hearing,

  707. just pray. I don't know what I was praying for.

  708. I don't know who it's for. I think I slept as

  709. I was praying. Praise the Lord. But then I woke

  710. up the next day and heard that, They arrested

  711. one of my brothers. Praise the Lord. But they

  712. let them go. Praise the Lord. When last did you

  713. hear the prompting of God? So God gives us word

  714. and promptings. If somebody comes into your mind,

  715. this person's thoughts just came to your mind.

  716. Not because you are thinking about them. Not

  717. because... You saw them somewhere. You just know

  718. that there is prompting, there is thought in

  719. your heart. Do you go and say, ah, or maybe it's

  720. a sister that is coming to your mind. Instead

  721. of you to go and pray, you now say, let me go

  722. and propose. Maybe the Lord is saying something.

  723. Praise the Lord. So he gives us promptings. He

  724. gives us word. He makes people come to our minds.

  725. Not because, okay, what am I thinking about this

  726. person? He's telling you to pray. Praise the

  727. Lord. Or to speak to that person, to find out

  728. what is going on in their lives. He leads us

  729. to suffer for his sake. Praise the Lord. Not

  730. all leading are comfortable. It's only when the

  731. Lord has led me, there's always good leading.

  732. Praise the Lord. There are leadings that are

  733. not comfortable for you. Hallelujah. He leads

  734. us to deny ourselves, to reset our priorities.

  735. to read the Word. So if the Father is glorified

  736. in the teachings or in the suffering of Jesus,

  737. be sure that He's also glorified in the suffering

  738. that you're suffering for His sake. He does not

  739. lead us to worry. He does not lead us to fear

  740. or doubt. He leads us for His sake, not for our

  741. sake. Praise the Lord. We're going to look at

  742. this more, more. So in the midst of every leading

  743. of the Spirit, you would find the glory of Christ.

  744. Praise the Lord. In the midst of every leading,

  745. you will find the glory of Christ. You cannot

  746. separate the leading of the Spirit from the passing

  747. of Christ. The end point of every leading of

  748. the Spirit is the glory of Christ. That is how

  749. you know it is a leading from Him. Praise the

  750. Lord. That is how you know that it is a leading

  751. from Him. Praise the Lord. Let's just close our

  752. eyes and just thank God. We appreciate you being

  753. here today. We hope you carry this word with

  754. you throughout your week. Don't forget to check
