  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. Amen. Yes, so we're welcome once again.

  6. And those of the people following us online.

  7. You're welcome. Amen. I am anointed. I will preach

  8. Jesus everywhere I go. I am his, his man. I will

  9. follow him until the end of time. I am anointed.

  10. I am anointed. I will preach Jesus everywhere

  11. I go. I am his. Yes. He is mine. I will follow

  12. him until the end of time. Mark 16. Mark chapter

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  13. 16. Thank you, Lord. Mark 16. Let me read from

  14. verse 15. He says, and he said to them, go into

  15. the world, into all the world and preach the

  16. gospel to every creature. 16. He who is, who

  17. believe and is baptized, will be saved, but he

  18. who does not believe will be condemned. And these

  19. signs will follow those who believe. In my name,

  20. they will cast out demons. They will speak with

  21. new tongues. And if they drink any deadly, It

  22. will by no means hurt them. They will lay hands

  23. on the sick and they will recover. So we started

  24. yesterday trying to see the ministry of laying

  25. of hands. The ministry of laying of hands. And

  26. two things we mentioned or we looked at yesterday.

  27. We noted that this ministry is not something

  28. that is done from afar. You can teach from afar.

  29. But we saw that impartation, impartation. done

  30. through the laying of hands, has to be, or we

  31. need a face -to -face meeting. And that tells

  32. us the necessity of face -to -face meeting. Of

  33. course, there are other things, probably I might

  34. touch them along the line, which is key. For

  35. example, you cannot be pastored online. You cannot

  36. be pastored online because the work of a pastor

  37. is not just to teach, but to have oversight.

  38. And oversight is not something that online space

  39. will permit. Yes, you need to be taught, but

  40. you need to be put to practice those things which

  41. you have learned. Are we together? Probably let

  42. me read this verse. Yesterday, our lead pastor

  43. read that text. You understand? 2 Timothy. Look

  44. at what Paul said. This is what it means to pastor.

  45. Because pastoring is done by example. Paul will

  46. say, follow me as I follow Christ. Which means

  47. that you have to be present physically to watch.

  48. To watch. To watch. Look at it. I will read from

  49. verse 10. He said, but you have done what? Carefully.

  50. 2 Timothy chapter 3 verse 10. But you have carefully

    2 Timothy 3:10

  51. followed my what? My doctrine. My what? My manner

  52. of life. This is not something you can see from

  53. very far. You have followed my manner of life.

  54. You have to be where the person is to be able

  55. to see his manner of life. My purpose, my fate,

  56. my long suffering. My long suffering, my faith.

  57. When Paul was commending Timothy, he said, when

  58. I saw the sincere faith in the son, he said,

  59. you see, he said that faith was in your grandmother.

  60. Are we together? Are we together? He said that

  61. faith was in your grandmother, Lois. And your

  62. mother Eunice. Amen. And now I see in you. Of

  63. course. You know that. That could not have been

  64. possible. If Timothy was somewhere else. So he

  65. said. You have. Carefully followed my purpose.

  66. My faith. My long suffering. My love. My perseverance.

  67. How could you have seen the perseverance? How

  68. could Timothy have seen the perseverance of Paul?

  69. Without him being present where the man is suffering,

  70. where the man is toiling, and he could see how

  71. he persevered in the face of danger. It's a persecution.

  72. Affliction, which happened to me at Antioch,

  73. at Iconium, at Lystra. We're going to see some

  74. of them today. He mentioned the places. That

  75. means Timothy was there. What persecution I endure.

  76. And out of them all, the Lord deliver me. Yes.

  77. And all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus

  78. will suffer persecution. This part, some people

  79. don't want it. It's verse 12. Once you hear suffering.

  80. No. Verse 13. But evil men and impostors who

  81. grow worse and worse. Deceived and being deceived.

  82. But you must continue. Must stay. Must continue.

  83. In the things which you have learned. And assured

  84. of. Knowing from whom. You have learned them.

  85. So learning is not just only by teaching. But

  86. by also following the examples of the leader.

  87. By following the manner of life of the leader.

  88. Yes. By following the manner of life of the believer.

  89. Hebrews chapter 13. Verse 7. Remember those who

    Hebrews 13 chapter mention

  90. rule over you. That word rule there is those

  91. who lead. Who have spoken to you the word of

  92. God? Who have spoken the word of God to you?

  93. Of course, you know those he's referring to.

  94. He said, whose faith do what? Oh, talk to me.

  95. Whose faith do what? Follow. Considering the

  96. outcome of their conduct. So learning or discipleship

  97. is not just only about teaching. Fundamentally,

  98. yes, it's teaching. But it's also following the

  99. faith, the manner of life, the conduct of the

  100. one leading. So you cannot pastor a man, you

  101. understand, online. Sorry, sir. That's why it's

  102. contradictory when you say an online church.

  103. That name is not, it's contradictory. It's not

  104. possible. When you say online followers, I agree

  105. with you. When you say followers, I agree. Because

  106. followers are people with that commitment. Today

  107. they will follow you, tomorrow they won't follow

  108. you. But when you're talking about disciples,

  109. are people with a commitment. With a commitment

  110. to sacrifice and following. Understand? Remember

  111. yesterday we said that God's method and system

  112. is man. You can't do anything about it. Understand?

  113. That's why if you have problem relationally,

  114. you have really a big problem. So if you ever

  115. want to grow, If you ever want to become something

  116. in the hand of God, you must be a follower. A

  117. follower of men. You know, these days, you say,

  118. no, me, I follow God. Me, I'm not a follower

  119. of anybody. You are joking. They are not anti

  120. each other. You know, I saw some movement these

  121. days online. Probably some of you have seen it.

  122. They say we left church, but not God. What a

  123. confusion. The meaning of Lord. Are we together?

  124. The meaning of Lord, when you say my Lord, what

  125. you are saying is that. If you understand the

  126. Council of Salvation, you will even talk about

  127. that one. Because a Lord is someone who conquers

  128. a territory and he stays there. So how can you

  129. dare say you left where he is and you say you

  130. didn't leave him? Because he dwells in us. We

  131. are the temple of God. We are the temple of the

  132. Holy Spirit. God is not outside the church. He's

  133. inside. He's staying there. So how can you say

  134. I left the church but not God? How? You are in

  135. the will of God. when you have decided to stay.

  136. You know, one brother who has not been with us

  137. for some time, somehow he got misdirected and

  138. was away for a long time. So I don't know what

  139. hit him. He was having a lot of difficulties.

  140. So somehow, his way was navigated and he came

  141. back again. So he says, I want to see you. I

  142. said, what is the problem? He says, I really

  143. want to see you. I have a problem. I don't know.

  144. I feel I don't have direction. I really don't

  145. have direction. I say for you coming here, you

  146. have direction. Because if you have never had

  147. direction, you will not have return back. Just

  148. coming back to the church, you have direction.

  149. I say for you to stay and hear and grow. Don't

  150. say I don't have direction. You have direction.

  151. For you having the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is

  152. direction. Remember that lesson times ago we

  153. taught in the sand. That once you say salvation,

  154. Salvation is a change of direction. Did you understand

  155. what I'm trying to say? Because when the Holy

  156. Spirit actually endures a man at salvation, that

  157. is a change of direction already. So you have

  158. direction. Amen. I have direction. Glory to Jesus.

  159. So we now saw in Mark chapter 16, and we noted

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  160. a second thing yesterday. And we said, these

  161. signs shall follow them that believe. And we

  162. saw that the signs are supernatural. So, and

  163. those signs, we now saw that the laying of hands

  164. is a supernatural sign. In other words, it is

  165. a supernatural activity or a supernatural ministry.

  166. So it says, those who believe. He said, in my

  167. name. He's not saying in the mention of the name.

  168. He's talking about those who believe. Those in

  169. the name. That's what he was saying. Those in

  170. the name. This is what they will do. Those in

  171. the name. In other words, those who believe,

  172. these are the signs that will follow them. We

  173. noted that Jesus, the name J -E -S -U -S, of

  174. course, is English. And we said Jesus, the name

  175. of Jesus is not a tag. And we noted because,

  176. We're trying to explain in the name. It's not

  177. a tag. In fact, we have a footballer called Jesus,

  178. right? Yes. And part of it told us that Jesus

  179. Christ, Christ is not his surname. Are we together?

  180. Amen. That Christ means the Messiah, the anointed

  181. one. Huh? Are we together? He's talking about

  182. his office. So, Because the word Jesus is just

  183. English because English is about 1 ,600 approximately

  184. years. Understand? These Germanic tribes, they

  185. were the ones who migrated and started the issue

  186. of speaking English. And when Jesus was around,

  187. there was no English. It's not in the words,

  188. in the tag. And we said, for us to have better

  189. understanding, the name of Jesus is his accomplishment.

  190. Because most times when we note that, that word

  191. name is onoma. Onoma. O -N -O -M -A in Greek.

  192. O -N -O -M -E. Onoma. It describes a person's

  193. reputation, character, authority, office, deeds,

  194. accomplishments. Describes a person's reputation,

  195. character, authority, office, deeds, or accomplishments.

  196. What the person is known for. What the person

  197. is known for. So the name of a person, you know,

  198. like my president now, he was a governor of Lagos

  199. state, president of Nigeria. He was a governor

  200. of Lagos state. His name was Master Governor.

  201. I mean, his tag, Bola Ame Tinubu, did not change.

  202. Did you get what I'm trying to say? but his name

  203. changed. By the time he became a president, what

  204. you are trying to say, his office changed. What

  205. you will say also that his name as Lord has changed.

  206. Because the authority that comes with a governor

  207. is not the same with the one that comes with

  208. what? Being a president. You know what I'm saying?

  209. So, his office is his authority because the authority

  210. of a president is not the same with that of a

  211. governor. Are we together? So that's the same

  212. thing. So when you hear Paul was said, and God

  213. has given him a name. Don't think he's saying,

  214. is it Jesus or something else? No, he's saying

  215. that there is something he did. And the Bible

  216. tells us in Philippians, if you start reading

  217. from chapter 5. He said he did not consider himself.

  218. Ephesians chapter 2 verse 5. If you start reading.

    Ephesians 2:5

  219. 6, 7, 8. He did not consider himself to be equal

  220. with God. You understand? He said he died. The

  221. death of who? Of a criminal. On the cross. And

  222. then the word said therefore. Yeah? Are we together?

  223. He said therefore. God has exalted. Do you understand

  224. what I'm trying to say? So that means there was

  225. an office he was occupying before. But by the

  226. reason of what he did, there was also an alleviation.

  227. Are we together? So the office he occupied after

  228. resurrection is not the same with the one before.

  229. Because the one before, he is limited. The one

  230. before will not give life. Are we together? But

  231. when he resurrected, that name gives life. So

  232. that is the authority of Christ. So when he's

  233. talking about in the name, he's talking about

  234. the authority in Christ. In the authority of

  235. Christ. Where you are. So those who believe are

  236. in the authority of Christ. Are in the office

  237. now. And these signs they will do. These are

  238. the signs they will do. In fact. We have many

  239. texts. Colossians chapter 4. Look at, you will

    Colossians 4 chapter mention

  240. see another Jesus inside. So we have plenty.

  241. So that when certain things happen, you should

  242. know your authority. Look at 4. Colossians 4,

  243. 11. He said, and what? Oh, talk to me. And what?

  244. And Jesus, who is called who? Justus. These are

  245. my fellow workers for the kingdom of God who

  246. are of the circumcision. They have proved to

  247. be a comfort to me. So that means Paul was with

  248. people. In fact, one of them was called Jesus.

  249. So you should know what it means to be in the

  250. name. So Christ's name. It's his reputation and

  251. accomplishment. That is what he has done. And

  252. what he did is that he died and resurrected.

  253. So with this understanding, you will appreciate

  254. when we said that we have forgiveness and life

  255. in his name. Are we together? Luke 24. Luke 24.

  256. Luke 24, 47. 46 says, then he said to them, thus

  257. it is written and thus it was necessary for Christ

  258. to suffer and to do what? And to rise from the

  259. dead the third day. And that repentance, which

  260. is remission of sins, that is an. Yeah? Should

  261. be what? Should be preached in his word. In his

  262. name to all nations beginning at Jerusalem. That

  263. is, to be preached in his authority. To be preached

  264. in his word. Resurrection. The focus of the repentance

  265. and remission of sins, you understand, is based

  266. on his name. John 20. Yesterday I talked about

  267. this text. John 20, 31. John 20, 31. So his resurrection

  268. gave us life. His name gave us life. John 20,

  269. 31. But these were written. Let me start from

  270. verse 30. And truly Jesus did many other signs

  271. in the presence of his disciples, which are not

  272. written in this book. But these are written that

  273. you may believe. Pastor Fred told us yesterday

  274. that the miracles of Jesus are to show what he

  275. will do. So John says these. Are written that

  276. you may believe. That Jesus is a Christ. The

  277. son of God. And that believing. You may have

  278. what? You may have what? Life where? He say in

  279. his name. In his name. If you like keep shouting.

  280. So in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.

  281. That one cannot give life. If you like, shout

  282. it. Don't you see those comedy guys? I mean,

  283. online. A little tune, Jesus. You know, in our

  284. culture, anything, Jesus. Whether the one that

  285. is following him or the one that is not following

  286. him, they have shouted his name several times.

  287. Do you understand what I'm saying? Yes. Did you

  288. understand that? So, if it's just by tact, then

  289. everybody will be born again by now. Those who

  290. have shouted. You know, some people thought by

  291. shouting. Some demons came and called, Jesus,

  292. Jesus, Jesus. And the demon was on top. It's

  293. not a tag. We read the story of the sons of Sceva.

  294. They were not born again. He said they are exorcists.

  295. You know exorcists? Those who try to cast out

  296. demons by another higher demon. That's why when

  297. they saw what Jesus was doing, they called him

  298. this, the Prince of Beelzebub. You know Prince?

  299. That he's a ruler. Because they are already,

  300. they are aware that in those days, that's how

  301. they do. If they want to cast a lower demon,

  302. they bring a higher demon. So they saw Jesus

  303. and said, this one must be a higher demon. Since

  304. he's casting this, do you understand what I'm

  305. saying? In the name of Jesus whom Paul preached.

  306. They don't know the name. The thing is by what?

  307. Mentioning. Sons of Siva. Act 19. In the name

  308. of Jesus. And the demons said, you see, don't

  309. think that demons don't know. They know who is

  310. inside. They say, Paul, we know. Jesus, we know.

  311. Hey, who are you? It's not. Hallelujah. Acts

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  312. chapter 4. Acts chapter 4. Look at verse 8. Then

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  313. Peter filled with the Holy Spirit said to them,

  314. rulers of the people and elders of Israel. If

  315. we this day are judged for the good deeds done

  316. to the helpless man, by what means he has been

  317. made well. Let it be known to you all and to

  318. all the people of Israel that by the name of

  319. Jesus of Nazareth, whom you crucify. Whom God

  320. raised from the dead, by him this man stand here

  321. before you all. It's by the name. This is a stone

  322. which was rejected by you builders, which has

  323. become the chief cornerstone. No, it's their

  324. salvation in any order. For there is no other

  325. name under heaven. Given among men. By which

  326. we must be what? The name of Jesus is his resurrection.

  327. That is where salvation is. There is no any other

  328. accomplishment on earth. Through which a man

  329. will be saved. Look at chapter 10. Look at chapter

  330. 10. Chapter 10, verse 39. And we were witnesses

  331. of all these things which he did both in the

  332. land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they

  333. killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up

  334. on the third day and showed him openly, not to

  335. all the people, but to witnesses chosen before.

  336. By God, even to us who ate and drank with him

  337. after he arose from the dead. And he commanded

  338. us to preach to the people and to testify that

  339. it is he who was ordained by God to be judge

  340. of the living and the dead. To him, all the prophet

  341. witnessed that through his word, through his

  342. name, whoever believed in him. Will what receive

  343. remission of sins? Forgiveness of sin came through

  344. his name. Remission of sin through his name.

  345. Remission of sin. Of course, I read, I noted

  346. 1 John yesterday. 1 John 5. 5 verse 13. He said,

  347. These things have I written to you who believe

  348. in the name of the Son of God, that you may know

  349. that you have what? Eternal life. You know, if

  350. you look at other texts, I mean, other translations,

  351. that other part was not there. Those of you who

  352. have been with us, we've done interpretation.

  353. You understand what I mean by that. And that

  354. you may continue to believe in the name of the

  355. Son of God. That one is not in the original.

  356. That you may continue to believe. No. And that

  357. you may continue. That's in King James. When

  358. you check other new modern translation, that

  359. part. Is that you, those who believe in the name

  360. of that, you might know that you have already.

  361. So it was written so that they will continue

  362. to believe in the name. It was written that they

  363. will know that they have what? They have eternal

  364. life. So. When you hear they said, there are

  365. some texts. Scripture talks about Acts 2 verse

    Acts 2:21

  366. 21. Talks about. Those who call on the name of

  367. the Lord. Call on the name of the Lord. And it

  368. shall come to pass that whosoever call on the

  369. name of the Lord shall be what? Shall be saved.

  370. Call on the name of the Lord is not shouting

  371. the name of Jesus. That's not what this place

  372. is talking about. Remember, Jesus told the Pharisees

  373. and the scribes, he said, He was discussing,

  374. I think in Matthew 7, he said, it is not the

  375. person who called me Lord, Lord, that do what?

  376. Did you remember? So that means it's not about

  377. what? It's not about mentioning. Are we together?

  378. Yes. He is talking about that call means actually

  379. believing. It means believing. Those who put

  380. faith in the name. Those who put faith in the

  381. name. That he was raised from the dead. And that

  382. was what actually Romans 10 was talking about.

  383. So when he talks about confess, he's not just

  384. talking about mentioning. Are we together? Are

  385. we together? He's not just referring to mentioning.

  386. No. He's talking about believing. Romans 10,

    Romans 10:6

  387. verse 6. Romans 10. Look up from verse 6. It

  388. says, but the righteousness of faith speaks in

  389. this way. Do not say in your heart who will ascend

  390. into heaven, that is to bring Christ down from

  391. above, or who will descend into the abyss, that

  392. is to bring Christ up from the dead. Verse 8.

  393. But what does it say? The word is now in your

  394. mouth and in your heart. That is a word of faith

  395. which we preach. The word of faith, which we

  396. preach, that if you confess with your mouth the

  397. Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God

  398. has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  399. That word is not two things. You know what I'm

  400. saying? First, you say, in the name of Jesus.

  401. You know, sometimes when we come for altar call,

  402. you say, say in the name of Jesus. In the name

  403. of Jesus. If you don't say that, no, no, no.

  404. That's not what he's talking about. You understand?

  405. Remember, that hand there is just showing us

  406. a further explanation. So confessing the Lordship

  407. of Christ is that you have believed in your heart

  408. that God has raised him from where? From the

  409. dead. Because remember I told you, Lordship,

  410. the word Lord, is a concept, you understand,

  411. that was picked from the tradition of those days,

  412. where someone can conquer in a place, you understand?

  413. You know, those days full of wars. You understand?

  414. This kind of war. This king will go on and conquer

  415. this territory. And this king will conquer this

  416. territory. Some of us are historians. We know

  417. about it. Right? So you discover that. That's

  418. from that concept. So once you say Lord, that's

  419. what you are talking about. So a king will now

  420. move, conquer a place. But once he conquers his

  421. place, he stays there. Do you understand what

  422. I'm trying to say? He doesn't conquer and leave.

  423. No. He stays there and protect the territory.

  424. That's the concept of salvation. So when you

  425. received him, he comes into your life. It's in

  426. that picture that he has conquered that territory.

  427. But he does not go away. He stays there and protects

  428. the territory that he has conquered. That's why

  429. neither your salvation or you staying in the

  430. salvation. Is ever your effort. Did you understand

  431. what I'm trying to say? Because it is him that

  432. stays to keep you. Now unto him who is able to

  433. do what? To keep you from falling. And present

  434. you faultless before his presence with exceeding

  435. joy. Jude 24. Unto him who is able to keep you.

  436. From what? From falling. And to present you faultless.

  437. This is not by conduct. This is his work and

  438. it's called salvation. That by the time you receive

  439. the new body, you are still faultless. You are

  440. still faultless. Yesterday, Pastor Roy spoke

  441. a particular text. He said you are holy. You

  442. know that Colossians and Ephesians? Holy, blameless.

  443. He said without fault. Listen. A believer, see,

  444. a believer, the one that has confessed Christ

  445. is faultless. Did you hear what I'm saying? Meaning

  446. you cannot go false. This is not a work of, it's

  447. not about conduct. It's what Christ has made

  448. us. You cannot be unrighteous. Did you understand

  449. what I'm saying? He made him who know no sin

  450. to become sin that you might become the world.

  451. The righteousness. See, you cannot become unrighteous.

  452. Because the one who saves lives in you. The Holy

  453. Spirit can't stay in a place that is unrighteous.

  454. So by his coming, he makes you righteous. He

  455. makes you faultless. And he keeps you faultless.

  456. Are we together? Hallelujah. Amen. So, Now you

  457. know that no one is born again or become the

  458. son of God by just shouting the name of Jesus.

  459. No, he's talking about the issue of believing

  460. in the name. Amen. So is it wrong to say in the

  461. name of Jesus? We're ending prayers because already

  462. we're used to it. Some people will say, in the

  463. mighty name, I'm precious and glorious and intelligent.

  464. Is he intelligent? In the name of Jesus. Some

  465. people think that God is like a man. You have

  466. to praise him. And say all kinds of names so

  467. that he will feel happy to not give you money

  468. or give you things. Then we used to have a formula.

  469. You say, first, when you come before the Lord,

  470. I don't know where you have gone. Anyway, when

  471. you come before the Lord, then you will sing

  472. and dance first. Because you cannot just come

  473. like that. You know what I'm saying? You just

  474. sing and praise first. When you sing and praise,

  475. then you give thanks. After you give thanks,

  476. you know what I'm saying? I've never seen expert

  477. give that to me. You know what I'm saying? Sometimes

  478. they enter, they don't greet. Daddy! You know

  479. what I'm saying? Because, They don't need to

  480. say, they will come to my door and say, Daddy,

  481. you are wonderful. You are this, you are that.

  482. Because they will shower praise for me. Then

  483. I'll say, hey, my baby, how are you? They already

  484. know, they are sure of their acceptance of their

  485. father. They just come in. Daddy, sometimes I'm

  486. in the middle of work. Like yesterday, I was

  487. trying to go through this. Explorer just came.

  488. She didn't even care. She grabbed me by the neck.

  489. She was saying, Daddy, what is that? Now, the

  490. point I'm trying to say is that, you know, there

  491. is a way we picture our father that needs to

  492. be adjusted. Listen, this is very important when

  493. we begin to talk about so much about the laying

  494. of hands. Are we together? To know that that

  495. is what God has desired you and I to operate

  496. in the ministry. That he wants to use our hand

  497. as his hand. Are we together? He wants to use

  498. our what? Our hands as his hands. Because if

  499. you know that he doesn't go and come, he indwells

  500. you forever. You understand? And he's walking

  501. through you. Are we together? You will not be

  502. afraid. You understand? To know that Jesus Christ

  503. is doing and wants to do things. Through you.

  504. Amen. Hallelujah. So. There's nothing wrong.

  505. To say in the name of Jesus. If your understanding

  506. is correct. If you are saying it as an affirmation.

  507. Of your reality. Not as a magic code. For God

  508. to answer your prayer. Did you understand what

  509. I'm saying? There's nothing wrong. To say in

  510. the name of Jesus. Or to shout the name of Jesus.

  511. In the son. If your understanding is correct.

  512. That you are saying. Or you are affirming your

  513. reality in Christ. But not as a magic code. That

  514. you have to just say in the name. So that he

  515. will answer you. In the son. No. No. You don't

  516. need to say. You just need to pray. Father thank

  517. you. In the son. Amen. That's it. So laying of

  518. hands. Let's return back to Romans. Sorry, Mark

  519. 16. Mark 16. If you look at verse 17, you could

  520. see that look at verse 17 and 18. So laying of

  521. hands can be done by those who do what? Oh, talk

  522. to me. By those who do what? Who believe. Those

  523. in the name. All believers. All believers can

  524. lay hands. Is for those in the name. All who

  525. believe. All who believe. Do I have someone that

  526. believe here? Amen. Look for 40. Look for. Verse

  527. 40. Let's see some text. To see how God. Uses

  528. us. The body. Or uses the body. To do wonders.

  529. Look for 40. When the sun was setting. All those

  530. who had any. that were sick with various diseases

  531. brought them to him and he laid his what? Are

  532. we together? He laid his hands on every one of

  533. them and do what? And healed them. Jesus laid

  534. his hands on every one of them and healed them.

  535. So those various diseases were healed by laying

  536. of hands. Please, I want you to be careful now.

  537. Just, I'm trying to follow you. I want to show

  538. you patterns in the psalm. All those various

  539. diseases, we don't care their name. They were

  540. healed, gone, by the laying of hands. By the

  541. laying of hands. Look at Mark 6. Mark 6. Then

  542. he went out there and came to his own country

  543. and his disciples followed him. And when the

  544. Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue

  545. and many hearing him were astonished saying,

  546. where did this man get these things? And what

  547. wisdom is this which is given to him, that such

  548. mighty works are performed by his hand? Is this

  549. not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother

  550. of James, Jesus, Judas, and Simon? And are not

  551. his sisters here with us? I don't know why they

  552. didn't mention the names of these sisters. Anyway,

  553. you know, in those days, it's a particular system.

  554. Amen? Most times, it's only the men. Yesterday,

  555. I think, Pastor made mention of it. In those

  556. days, they only named the men. They forget about

  557. the children and the women. It's only men. I

  558. guess that's what is happening here. But no more

  559. in Christ. Hallelujah. There is neither male

  560. nor female. Jesus is wonderful. Amen. Verse 3.

  561. So that's what we saw. So they were offended

  562. at him. They were offended at him. But Jesus

  563. said to them, a prophet is not without honor

  564. except in his own country among his own relatives.

  565. And in his own house. Now, he could do no mighty

  566. works here. Except that he laid his hands on

  567. what? On few sick people. And healed them. Did

  568. you see what I'm seeing? So even in the middle

  569. of dishonor and unbelief. Of offense. Laying

  570. of hands to walk. We're going to study this passage

  571. later. At least those who came were healed. Those

  572. who honor him. Even the midst of unbelief and

  573. dishonor. In that atmosphere, lean of hands walked.

  574. Go to Mark chapter 5. Look at verse 21. Now when

    Mark 5 chapter mention

  575. Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other

  576. side, a great multitude gathered to him and he

  577. was by sea. And behold, one of the rulers of

  578. the synagogue came, Jairus, by name. And when

  579. he saw him, he fell at his feet and begged him

  580. earnestly saying, my little daughter lies at

  581. the point of death. Come. and lay your hands

  582. on her and she may be healed and she will live.

  583. So Jesus went with him and a great multitude

  584. followed him and thronged him. Look at verse

  585. 35. While he was still speaking, some came from

  586. the rulers of the synagogue house. who said,

  587. your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher

  588. anymore? As soon as Jesus heard the word that

  589. was spoken, he said to the ruler of the synagogue,

  590. do not be afraid. Only do what? Believe. And

  591. he permitted no one to follow him except Peter,

  592. James, and John, the brother of James. Then he

  593. came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue

  594. and saw a tumult. And those who wept, and wailed

  595. loudly. When he came in, he said to them, why

  596. make this commotion and weep? The child is not

  597. dead, but sleeping. And they ridiculed him. When

  598. he had put them outside, he took the father and

  599. the mother of the child and those who were with

  600. him and entered where the child was lying. Then

  601. he took the child by what? Oh, are we together?

  602. Did you see what Jesus did? He took the child.

  603. By what? By hand and said. Talitakumi. Which

  604. means. Or which translates. Third little girl.

  605. I say to you. Arise. Immediately the girl arose

  606. and walked. For she was 12 years of age. And

  607. they were overcome by great amazement. But he

  608. commanded. them strictly that no one should know

  609. it and said that something should be given to

  610. her to eat. Immediately Jesus entered. What did

  611. he do? Entered the house of Jairus. He took her

  612. by the hand. I want you to know that Acts chapter

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  613. 3, he took her by the hand. It's not a mistake.

  614. He didn't just do it. Before he even said anything,

  615. he took her by the hand. Acts chapter 3. I'll

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  616. just read 6. Verse 6. Then Peter said, silver

  617. and gold I do not have, but what I have I give

  618. you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

  619. rise up and walk. And Peter do what? And he took

  620. him by what? by the right hand and lifted him

  621. up. And immediately his feet and ankle bones

  622. received strength. Jesus took her by the hand.

  623. Peter took him by the right hand in the sand.

  624. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Why do we always touch?

  625. Did you see that? Look at Mark 7. Go back to

  626. Mark. Mark chapter 7. Mark 7 verse 32. Then they

Mark 7 chapter mention Mark 7:32

  627. brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment

  628. in his speech and they begged him to put his

  629. hand on him. These people have been following

  630. him. They noticed something about the Christ.

  631. So this time around, they begged him. They said,

  632. just put your hand on him. We understood. You

  633. see, these people are ardent observers. Remember

  634. the centurion. He has seen Jesus. He knows the

  635. power of Jesus. That's why he could say, I have

  636. understood it. Just speak a word from here. I

  637. know something is going to happen. So they observe.

  638. You see, they begged him to put his hand on him.

  639. And he took him aside from the multitude and

  640. put his finger, where? In his ears. And he spat

  641. and touched his tongue. Then he looked up to

  642. heaven and sighed and said to him, Efata means

  643. to be open. Immediately, his ears were opened.

  644. and the impediment of his tongue was loose, and

  645. he spoke plainly. Again, Jesus touched his ears

  646. with his finger. Are we together? He touched

  647. his ears. Jesus touched his ears. Listen, why

  648. will there be always a touch? Because our bodies

  649. transmit the power of God. Remember I told you

  650. that laying of hands, is supernatural in the

  651. Son. Our body transmits. If you go with this

  652. mentality, you begin to see you expressing. You

  653. begin to see you walking in the miraculous with

  654. this consciousness that my body transmits the

  655. power of God. It's not just only some believers.

  656. Every believer, as long as the Holy Spirit dwells

  657. in you. Luke chapter 6. Luke chapter 6. The effectiveness

Luke 6 chapter mention Luke 6 chapter mention

  658. of believers on how they manifest this kingdom

  659. is to the degree of their consciousness of who

  660. they are in Christ. And the degree of their consciousness

  661. of who they are in Christ is actually a function

  662. of the knowledge. They have about the Christ

  663. and the identity in him. So Luke 6, 17. Judas,

  664. the son of Joseph, and Judas Iscariot, who...

  665. Also became a traitor. Verse 17. Okay, I was

  666. reading 16. Verse 17. I want us to read together.

  667. Are we together? Okay, verse 17. And he came

  668. with them and stood on a level place with a crowd

  669. of his disciples and a great multitude of people

  670. from all Judea and Jerusalem and from this...

  671. Of Ter and Sidon who came to hear him and be

  672. healed of their what? Diseases. Verse 18 together.

  673. As well as those who were tormentors with this.

  674. Yes. He healed. Verse 19. And the whole multitude

  675. sought to what? For what? Out from him to do

  676. what? Power went out. They sought to touch him.

  677. For power, for power went out from him to hell.

  678. So you can now connect what we read earlier when

  679. the man begged him to touch. You can also now

  680. connect This is a story that went out. And the

  681. woman with an issue of blood, she said, if only

  682. I can touch his word. That's what they heard.

  683. They have been observant. Our body transmits

  684. the power of God. Be conscious of this. Be conscious

  685. of this truth. Acts chapter 4. Acts chapter 4

Acts 4 chapter mention Acts 4:29

  686. verse 29. Now the Lord looked on their threat

  687. and grant your servants that with all boldness

  688. they may speak your word. By stretching Your

  689. hand to heal. And the signs and wonders may be

  690. done through the name of your holy servant. Through

  691. the name of your holy servant. The question is

  692. that how will God stretch his hand? Have you

  693. seen his hand before? Are we together? Jump to

  694. chapter 5. Verse 12. And through the hands of

  695. the apostles, many signs and wonders were done

  696. among the people. And they were all with one

  697. accord in Solomon's porch. Yet none of the rest

  698. dared join them. But the people esteemed them

  699. highly. The people. esteem them highly, and believers

  700. were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes

  701. of both men and women, so that they brought the

  702. sick out into the streets and laid them on beds

  703. and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter

  704. Passing might fall on some of them. Might fall

  705. on some of them. Are we together? Did you see

  706. that? God stretching his hand is through you.

  707. Is through you. When they pray that. the Lord

  708. will stretch up his hands and heal and the signs

  709. and wonders will be done through his name. The

  710. apostles knew what they were saying. In chapter

  711. five, we now saw that wonders were done through

  712. their hands. So what they are saying or they

  713. are praying is that Lord, that signs and wonders

  714. be performed through your name, by our hands

  715. and through our hands. To our hands. And I want

  716. you to say this in the sun. Say this after me.

  717. My torch is the torch of God. Oh, I say it loudly

  718. now. My torch is the torch of God. That is the

  719. consciousness I want you to begin to walk in.

  720. That my body is his body. You know, I like that

  721. song we used to sing. Only that the way we arrange

  722. the words is not good. Yes, sir. We know that

  723. our body is a sanctuary. Do you understand what

  724. I'm saying? My body is your sanctuary. My body

  725. is your sanctuary. I love this line. But the

  726. other lines have a problem. It's not. How can

  727. your body be sanctuary and say, purify me like

  728. gold? How did you become sanctuary without being

  729. purified? It's not possible. So that I may be

  730. bold to save my body. You started by saying my

  731. body is a giant, so that I will be bold again.

  732. Is that? No. No. You have been purified. Oh,

  733. I am be purified. Yes, I am purified. And my

  734. body is his sanctuary. My hands is his hands.

  735. Are we together? My eyes is his eyes. My touch

  736. is his touch. Are we together? My touch is his

  737. touch. You know, there's a song we used to sing

  738. again. What's that song? My hands are blessed.

  739. My hands are blessed. With the blessings of God.

  740. With the blessings of God. My hands are blessed.

  741. My hands are blessed. With the blessings of the

  742. Lord. Anyone I touch, anyone I touch, anyone

  743. I bless, my hands are blessed with the blessings

  744. of the Lord. With the blessings of the Lord.

  745. Hallelujah. Unfortunately, you know, those days,

  746. They used to sing it during offering. So, you

  747. know, when you call blessed in those days, when

  748. things are hard, your mind goes to money. So,

  749. the Lord is, you know, people will now say, go

  750. punish poverty. Yes, go punish poverty. But the

  751. issue is that go punish ignorance. Because the

  752. problem is not that you don't have anything.

  753. The problem is that you don't have knowledge.

  754. Are we together? So, now next you begin to know

  755. and have this consciousness that my hands are

  756. blessed. I'm a blessed person. Why are you blessed?

  757. Because I've been forgiven. Because I've been

  758. purified. Are we together? Yes, I'm blessed.

  759. Blessed is the man in the sun who sins. Are we

  760. together? God does not impute his iniquity. That's

  761. the man that is blessed. And that's why my hands

  762. are blessed. I'm a blessing. That's our focus.

  763. You know, I first got this understanding when

  764. I was about to go to, in our country, what we

  765. call National Youth Service. Many young people,

  766. When you graduate below 30, you go to serve the

  767. nation. Understand? Just post you anywhere to

  768. serve. You know, one of my uncles called me.

  769. He was working in one of the embassies. Let me

  770. not mention. One of the powerful embassies in

  771. Abuja. He called me and said, where do you want

  772. to serve? Just tell me where you want to serve.

  773. I said, no, they have already done it already.

  774. He didn't understand what I was trying to say,

  775. but I'm saying that I don't arrange for that.

  776. God has done it. And our mindset is not that

  777. I'm going, you know, there's a way we consider

  778. better place. Do you know what I'm saying? I

  779. met one of my friends in Akwa Ibo state. He served

  780. the Lord in the camp for three weeks. He served

  781. the Lord and he said, you know, those people

  782. who have the personal relationship with God.

  783. They said, I have made a covenant with God. I

  784. don't know how he made a covenant with God. Away

  785. from the covenant we all have. So that if he

  786. served the Lord, oh God, if he served the Lord,

  787. that God would take him to a better place. And

  788. after he danced, he was up and doing, I saw the

  789. man zealous. I didn't know what was he saying.

  790. Until after we finished and all of us gone, they

  791. posted into one remote village. Most of the coppers

  792. or co -members that they were sent there, they

  793. refused to go. He was angry with God. So when

  794. we came for a state conference in the Nigerian

  795. Coppers, Christian Coppers Fellowship, I saw

  796. him dejected in the sun. In his face, you could

  797. see his contents as falling. I said, bro, how

  798. have you been? It's been long. I said, what is

  799. the problem? He started sharing it. I said, but

  800. what is your divination of best? You know, there's

  801. a way we define good. But when I was going, I

  802. got understanding those who serve in this kingdom

  803. are those who are the greatest. You understand?

  804. So I went to the place of service. You understand?

  805. Even though I have a good certificate, I knew

  806. that they are likely not going to take me to.

  807. But my problem is not where. My problem is a

  808. service. I was in my mind that even if they asked

  809. me, what do you mean? First and foremost, what

  810. did they say? They say national service. What

  811. am I going to do? To serve. A servant does not

  812. ask what to do. He only say, I am here. Whatever

  813. they gave to him, he would what? He would do.

  814. I said, even if they say, this is your work,

  815. every morning you start sweeping the streets.

  816. That's my service to the community. Of course,

  817. I would do it gladly. That was my mentality when

  818. I went. Eventually, some of us that are first

  819. class students, normally they just post to directly,

  820. automatically to universities. So immediately

  821. after I come, they posted me to the University

  822. of UU. So, and I went there. I said, I am a servant.

  823. My boss, who was my head of department, started

  824. shouting because the coppers there have messed

  825. up. I will not receive you. I will not receive

  826. you. All of you are nonsense people. No, no,

  827. no, no. I will not receive anybody again. Co

  828. -members, they only like money. They don't want

  829. to work. I didn't do anything, but he was shouting

  830. at me. Well, I was confused. But after all the

  831. things, I just stayed quiet. I said, what is

  832. the problem? After he finished, he said, well,

  833. he calmed down. He said, well, I don't want to

  834. judge you like others, but you must promise me.

  835. You must promise me that you're not going to

  836. be like others. So he said, I should go. Gave

  837. me two weeks and go and rest. I should come back.

  838. He now signed it and returned. Because I knew

  839. I was a servant. That was why when I came, even

  840. the staff, they did not understand I was a co

  841. -member. Because I come as early as possible.

  842. You understand? Always I will come and wait by

  843. the door before the secretary will come and open

  844. the door of the department. Throughout. So some

  845. of them never knew. They thought I was just this

  846. new lecturer they just employed. One day, one

  847. of the professors saw me with my crest and said,

  848. are you a co -member? Because the way I conducted

  849. myself is one who serves. They banned people

  850. from entering into the HOD office because co

  851. -members have been stealing resources. When you

  852. have a girlfriend, you know, They will go inside

  853. and change the resort. So they ban all of them

  854. from entering. But we went there through the

  855. grace of God with a transformed mind. We changed

  856. the place. Before one month, two months, the

  857. HOD office has become my office. HOD will leave.

  858. Are we together? He will leave. Everybody will

  859. leave in the department. They will go to somewhere

  860. else. I'll be the only one in the department.

  861. HOD gave me a seat close to his office there.

  862. There is nothing I did not know in that department.

  863. No result, no secret that I don't know. Trust.

  864. There is a difference. The other lady, before

  865. when she was going, she told me, I don't understand

  866. these people. Every now and then, when you are

  867. graduating, I say, come on, they will give you

  868. food flags. Are they going to ask, are they expecting

  869. us to go and eat? He said, how did you know?

  870. He said, the one that left told me that his food

  871. flags they gave her. That even that one, she

  872. told her that the one, the last one, it was food

  873. flags. I said, well, thank God I was not expecting

  874. anything. I wasn't expecting anything. But when

  875. I was leaving, I told my boss. It was on Friday

  876. after our passing out. I told him, I said, I'll

  877. be going on Monday. He said, no, no. Lie, lie.

  878. Where are you going? He said, we want to give

  879. you work here so that you start your MSC here.

  880. You understand? No, you are not going anywhere.

  881. He said, you have to first and foremost postpone

  882. your journey. I said, sir, I need to. It's been

  883. long. I have to go and see my people. He said,

  884. okay, first and foremost, before we talk any

  885. other thing, postpone your journey. First ever.

  886. And what did I do? Because I consider myself

  887. a servant. That's the mentality I want us to

  888. carry. You understand? And what is it? That Friday

  889. when I was going. I've already been thinking,

  890. what do I add again to this department? I was

  891. busy looking. What else can I add before I go?

  892. What else can I add before I go? And I remember

  893. they just recently, because normally they do

  894. always what they call accreditation again after

  895. some level of time in each courses. I mean, each

  896. course in the university. At that time, accreditation

  897. was just coming. So they repented the whole department.

  898. And then I discovered that, ah, that wall, I've

  899. not been seeing a wall clock. And I discovered

  900. that that wall clock has spoiled. I said, ah,

  901. I think this one is around my level. In the south.

  902. Yes. The Bible says, when you are given, give

  903. the one that is within your power. Do you understand

  904. what I'm saying? So I went and I got, interestingly,

  905. I see the market. When I was entering one supermarket

  906. and I saw the color that matches the department.

  907. I see they did. One good big one like that. I

  908. asked. At that time, the coin was around 3 ,000.

  909. I removed from my alawi. We used to call it.

  910. I paid for it. Some of the things they gave to

  911. me in the family house where I stayed with coppers

  912. in the sun. Why would I go to Kaduna with it?

  913. I packed all of them. I take it to the secretaries.

  914. And I gave that one to the court. No court member

  915. has ever done this with me. Everybody is looking

  916. what he will get. I mean, it was a shocker. He

  917. said, no, no, no, no, no, no. They organized.

  918. To my surprise, when I came on that Monday, all

  919. the professors, there has never been any gathering

  920. that gathered everybody like that. All the professors,

  921. the dean, everybody were there. They went and

  922. got food. It was a party in the... All of them

  923. will give me, they have been giving me money

  924. in the sand. This one say for your fly, this

  925. one for your... I didn't follow fly, dude. Now,

  926. what am I trying to say? There was a difference.

  927. At least they never gave me food flags. What

  928. am I trying to say? That mentality of service.

  929. Your hands is an extension to cause joy in a

  930. city. To cause joy in territories. That after

  931. you have left. People begin to enjoy your legacies.

  932. The other prophet said. We will write your name

  933. on this clock. And put it on top. So that every

  934. co -member that comes here will face. That is

  935. what it is. This means. that you carry God's

  936. power. God's power is at work in you. Our body

  937. transmits the power of God. The shadow of Peter,

  938. did you see that? The shadow of Peter fell on

  939. people. It's from your body. It can touch anything

  940. that emanates from your body, carries it. Look

  941. at that 19. His aprons. Did you see that? Acts

    Acts 19:11

  942. 19 verse 11. Now God walk unusual miracle by

  943. the hand of Paul. By the hand of Paul. So that

  944. even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from

  945. his wear. Oh, talk to me from his wear. Oh, let's

  946. read together. Read that verse 12. One, two,

  947. three, go. So that even handkerchief or aprons

  948. were brought from his body to the sick and the

  949. diseases left them and the evil spirit went out

  950. of them. Our body emanates the power of God.

  951. It's a transmitter. It's a transmitter. It's

  952. a transmitter. It's a transmitter. That is it.

  953. And I want us to carry this as in this, because

  954. by the time we start laying of our hands, that

  955. is the mindset. Not just only that you know you

  956. have it, but that when hands are laid upon you,

  957. that is the consciousness you carry too. That

  958. the power of God is transmitted. Are we together?

  959. Is transmitted. That the power of God, that this

  960. hands of mine, that my touch is a touch of God.

  961. And with it, I bless the world. With it, I bless

  962. the world. That this body, my body is a transmitter

  963. of the power of God. That this body is an instrument,

  964. it's a vessel for the demonstration of God's

  965. power. It's not an instrument of immorality.

  966. As we used to say, this is my life. This is my

  967. song. And this is my reality. And this is my

  968. reality. Acts chapter 14. Look at verse 3. Therefore,

    Acts 14 chapter mention

  969. they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly

  970. in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word

  971. of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be

  972. done by their hands. You remember back 1620 and

  973. the Lord walking with them, confirming their

  974. word with what? Signs. Did you understand what

  975. I'm saying? Here again, they stayed. He said,

  976. bearing witness to the word of his grace, granting

  977. signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

  978. Go to 28, Acts 28. Acts 28. Look at verse 8.

  979. There were many lambs in the upper room where

  980. they were gathered together. And in the window

  981. sat a certain young man named Eutychus. Oh, where

  982. am I reading? Okay, let's leave Eutychus for

  983. now. But he fell. Thank God we are not. We don't

  984. have windows that somebody will fall. Amen. Look

  985. at verse 8, Acts 28. And it happened that the

  986. father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery.

  987. And Paul went into him and prayed and laid his

  988. hand on him and healed him. laid his hands on

  989. him and healed him. Did you observe something?

  990. That the laying of his hands is a primary method

  991. of administering healings. Laying of hands. You

  992. don't need to feel anything. As we said, that

  993. it is a spiritual sign. Are we together? It's

  994. not under the control of emotions. It's not feelings.

  995. So you don't need to feel anything. But you just

  996. have to know. And I know Jesus is healing through

  997. my hands. And I know blind eyes are open to my

  998. hands. And I know death is adhering to my hands.

  999. For the Holy Ghost is walking through my hands.

1000. You don't need to feel anything. But it's the

1001. knowing. I know. I know. I know that he is healing

1002. through my hands. I know it. You don't need to

1003. know. You don't need to feel anything. Just lay

1004. your hands. It's a pattern. Just like you pray.

1005. Don't be mizing with your hands. Don't be stingy

1006. if there's anything with your hands. It's like

1007. prayer. It should be a part of life for you.

1008. Are we together? It should be a different setting.

1009. You say, ah. yesterday I was tired. Listen, where

1010. is the place? Do you understand what I'm saying?

1011. It should be the next thing that comes to you.

1012. You know, this is the way I used to. There's

1013. nothing wrong with drugs. Do you understand what

1014. I'm trying to say? But that, the issue is that

1015. always the first thing that comes to our mind

1016. is drugs. You see, there's nothing wrong with

1017. it, but be careful before it will paralyze your

1018. feet. You know, those days we used to sing one

1019. song. Panadol is good, boy, it can paralyze your

1020. feet. You understand? What he's trying to say

1021. is that because there's this over -dependence

1022. where man is already... So, that is a point.

1023. When the woman with an issue of blood touched

1024. Jesus and got healed, Jesus did not realize.

1025. I mean, he didn't realize it physically. He knew

1026. it by the word of knowledge. That's what the

1027. Bible says. We also did that. How do you think

1028. he will know it when people... Have you been

1029. in a crowd? Okay, if you have collected Boss

1030. 3 before in Nigeria. Oh, that's true. Here, let's

1031. come back here. Have you been near his boss?

1032. How do you know who is touching you? Did you

1033. understand what I'm saying? So people, we are

1034. there. Crowding, pressing, you understand? He

1035. was going. And then this woman came and touched

1036. him. We will see what's the difference between

1037. those people who were and this woman who came

1038. from nowhere. He knew it by word of knowledge.

1039. That was why the disciples were surprised at

1040. the question. He was surprised. He said, who

1041. touched me? Ha. These people are cloudy. Everybody

1042. will say, who touched you? Mark chapter 5. Go

    Mark 5 chapter mention

1043. back to Mark chapter 5. Look at verse 31. But

    Mark 5 chapter mention

1044. his disciples said to him, you see the multitude

1045. thronging you and you say, who taught you? And

1046. he looked around to see her who had done this.

1047. Look at Vastati. Did you see Vastati? He said,

1048. Jesus immediately doing what? Did he say feeling

1049. that somebody taught him? He said, knowing in

1050. himself that power had gone out of him, turn

1051. around in the crowd and say, who touched me?

1052. Who touched my clothes? Who touched my clothes?

1053. You have to be conscious of spiritual things.

1054. So sometimes even those who transmits the power

1055. of God may be feeling sick. Your pains does not

1056. stop the flow of the power of God. The fact that

1057. you are feeling pain or sick does not mean you

1058. cannot administer healing. Did you get what I'm

1059. trying to say? No. The power of God through you

1060. is not dependent on how you are feeling. Are

1061. we together? Yes. So, stop. Thinking that until

1062. everything is all right, that's when you will

1063. minister. Sometimes when you come here and see

1064. us jumping and shouting, you think that we don't

1065. have anything bothering our life. No. But ministry

1066. is not dependent on feelings. It's not dependent

1067. on our convenience. Paul says, a necessity is

1068. placed upon me in the sun. War unto me if I do

1069. not preach the gospel. And if you are the type

1070. that attracts sympathy, you won't do ministry

1071. effectively. You always want people to have everything

1072. and then you use even the pulpit for your own

1073. problems. See, you know, God is helping me. But

1074. I'm trusting God. Yesterday was terrible. I say,

1075. Lord, where are you? I'm trusting God for this

1076. and that and that. I mean, you fool all the people

1077. with all complaints and this and that. No. The

1078. pattern is Christ. The pattern is the apostles.

1079. We follow and we see them. They are always Eager

1080. to speak the word of God. Eager to lay hands.

1081. Eager to preach. Eager to preach. You understand?

1082. Everything of their life. It's not that they

1083. are not career people. It's not that they are

1084. not career. That's why Paul takes time to acknowledge

1085. them. You understand? Zenos, the lawyer. Luke

1086. the physician. Do you understand what I'm trying

1087. to say? Yes. So they had career. But you see,

1088. career was not what was driving their life. If

1089. they moved to Iconium, it's not because they

1090. wanted greener pasture for a business. No. What

1091. was guiding and moving their life was the calling

1092. of God. If they arrive at town, They preach,

1093. then they go back to business. Paul will go and

1094. start doing his tent making. Are we together?

1095. In fact, he will even join with other believers

1096. like Quillan and Christa. Yeah? Act 18. To join

1097. and just say they come. Then they will do. And

1098. it's not that they will do it, like when you

1099. saw Claude, you see what I'm doing like this.

1100. You understand? Sometimes in the church, we massage

1101. mediocrity. You understand? Because we have been

1102. taught wrongly. But you need to change. Paul

1103. said, these hands provided for my needs and the

1104. needs of those who are with me. That place used

  1105. to strike me hard. I mean, I don't have a choice.

  1106. I mean, I don't have a reason why I will not

1107. be. sound in the things of God. You understand?

  1108. And I don't have a reason to say, you know, I

1109. need to feed my family. And he said, those who

1110. are with me. Do you know how many people were

1111. walking with him? Even when they took him to

1112. Rome at the end of his life, the Bible says,

1113. the house he was staying, it was a rented house.

1114. Who was renting it? You think the emperor is

1115. the one that was paying for his rent? No. He

1116. said, we work day and night. He said, anyone

1117. that will not work according to the tradition

1118. that we have laid for you. He said, mark that

1119. person. Are we together? He said, Mark who? Mark

1120. that person. He that should not what? Walk, should

1121. not what? Eat. Should not eat. So, don't hide

1122. under God, God, God, and then you do nothing.

1123. It is like idleness. It's not the will of God

1124. to be idle. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Now, go back

1125. to Acts chapter 9. We read something yesterday

    Acts 9 chapter mention

1126. in that place. Acts chapter 9. See verse 17.

    Acts 9 chapter mention

1127. And Ananias went his way and entered the house.

1128. And laying his hands on him, he said, Brother

1129. Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the

1130. road as you came, has sent me that you may receive

1131. your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

1132. And immediately, they are filled. from his eyes

1133. something like skill. And he received his sight

1134. at once. And he arose and was baptized. And then

1135. when you continue to read on visions. Now, the

1136. point I'm trying to make in this place is how

1137. hands were laid, not just only that he received

1138. his healing, but what happened? He was filled

1139. with the Holy Spirit. Now, we have seen in many

1140. instances where hands are laid healing, healings,

1141. healings, healings in the Son. Another thing

1142. you will see is that hands can be laid for the

1143. baptism of the Holy Spirit. Are we together?

1144. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. Soul of Tarsus.

1145. He received, he was filled with the Holy Spirit.

1146. Look at Acts 17, 8, sorry. Go to Acts 8. Just

1147. go behind one chapter. Verse 9. But there was

1148. a certain man called Simon who previously practiced

1149. sorcery. But let me go behind a little bit so

1150. that you see. There was trouble, of course. Verse

1151. 4 says, therefore those who were scattered went

1152. everywhere preaching the word. Did you see that?

1153. Even when there was confusion and there was tribulation,

1154. there was persecution. Once they scatter, what

1155. is in their mind? The gospel. Wherever they go,

1156. in the sun, like we sing, I will preach Jesus

1157. everywhere I go. So you don't have a choice.

1158. Whether you came here by mistake or you came

1159. here because of your making, I will preach Jesus

1160. everywhere I go. I am his, he is mine. I will

1161. follow him. Until the end of time. Whatever the

1162. circumstance that took them to whatever place,

1163. there is something that is constant. The preaching

1164. of God's word. Then Philip went down to the city

1165. of Samaria and preached Christ to them. Verse

1166. 6. And the multitude with one accord heeded the

1167. things spoken by Philip hearing and seeing the

1168. miracles which he did. From clean spirit crying

1169. with a loud voice came out. Of many who were

1170. possessed. And many who were paralyzed. And lame

1171. were healed. Was it. And there was great joy.

1172. In that city. I pray for you. That you bring

1173. great joy to cities. You bring great joy to territories.

1174. You bring great joy to homes and families. In

1175. the name of Jesus. Yes. But there. was a certain

1176. man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery

1177. in the city and astonished the people of Samaria,

1178. claiming that he was someone great to whom they

1179. all gave heed. And it leads to the greatest saying,

1180. this man is a great power of God. In the absence

1181. of ignorance, you understand, fake become real.

1182. Stop complaining with what is going on. Hey,

1183. this pastor is doing this, this pastor is doing

1184. this. Arise, brother. You know what I'm saying?

1185. Paul would tell Timothy, 1 Timothy 1, I mean

1186. 1 Timothy 4, 16. He said, take heed to yourself

1187. and to the doctrine. He said, continue in them.

1188. For in doing so, you will serve both to yourself

1189. and to those who do what? Who hear you. When

1190. Prophet Samuel was lamenting about Saul, go to

1191. him, awake. Don't worry. Leave this one. Arise

1192. and go and anoint another one. You know what

1193. I'm saying? It's a high time to stop lamenting.

1194. God is saying, arise. There are many more people

1195. to anoint. Are we together? There are more many

1196. people to raise. Hallelujah. So that's what he

1197. says. Verse 11. And they hated him because he

1198. has astonished them with sorceries for a long

1199. time. That's it. So many people have been deceived

1200. for a long time. But no more. Because God is

1201. raising you. Your family has been in darkness

1202. for a long time. But no more because a light

1203. has entered in the sun. But when they believe

1204. Philip, As he preached. So don't normally dwell

1205. in the, what do you call it? The inconveniences

1206. and the seemingly those things that look as if

1207. there is trouble. You know what I'm saying? It

1208. looks there was trouble in Jerusalem and scattered

1209. the brethren. But that trouble was actually the

1210. joy of a city. Did you understand what I'm trying

1211. to say? Yes. It's the joy of a city. Because

1212. Philip now moved. Immediately he go. Those people

1213. who have been subjected, deceived for a long

1214. time, they think that a man who is practicing

1215. sorcery was one of a great God. Now, his wrapper

1216. has been opened in the market. People now understood

1217. who he was because the real thing has come. But

1218. when, verse 12, When they believed Philip, as

1219. he preached the things concerning the kingdom

1220. of God. And the name of Jesus. Did you see that?

1221. So the things concerning the kingdom of God is

1222. called what? It's not two things. It's not that

1223. he preached the name of Jesus here and there.

1224. You know what I'm saying? Yes. Concerning the

1225. things. The things. He preached the things concerning

1226. the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.

1227. The name of Jesus Christ are the things. concerning

1228. the kingdom of God. And what are those things?

1229. His death, resurrection, his indwelling. Are

1230. we together? That is a thing and that is his

1231. name. So both men and women were baptized. Then

1232. Simon himself also believed. And when he was

1233. baptized, he continued with Philip and was amazed,

1234. seeing the miracles and the signs which were

1235. done. Now listen, you'll be seeing sometimes

1236. I'm reading. and they were baptized, and they

1237. were baptized. Let me mention something, maybe

1238. to just clear some things here. You know, when

1239. the church was starting, listen very carefully,

1240. because it's very important. I read also, after

1241. Paul, they lay hands on him, they say he was

1242. baptized, right? That was he was baptized in

1243. water. Because in the early church, there are

1244. many things they have not yet come into the light.

1245. So they were still practicing some things. Let

1246. me give you a very good example so that you understand.

1247. For example, even though they were believers,

1248. they were still practicing the law, which means

1249. that they were still in their own renewed mind.

1250. A Jew cannot enter the house of a Gentile. Do

1251. you get what I'm trying to say? They are in Christ,

1252. but they are still in that thing. He takes the

1253. intervention of the Holy Ghost. He came to Peter

1254. and said, Peter, Peter, Peter. Because God has

1255. already broken the barrier and these men are

1256. still resisting it. That's the condition of the

1257. early church. That's why the book of Acts is

1258. not the book of doctrine. You understand? We

1259. see how they progressively come into the revelation

1260. of God, into the revelation of Christ. A ladder

1261. came, he was sleeping. Already God has appeared

1262. to Cornelius. Go. Because he was to be a breaker.

1263. You understand? He said, go and call this man.

1264. He saw a ladder in the sand. All kinds of this.

1265. He said, I wake and eat. He said, no, Lord. I've

1266. never eaten an unclean. You see his mind? He

1267. said, how dare you call that which I have created

1268. unclean? Did you get the point? God had to show

1269. him. You know, he has no choice than to follow.

1270. He went to the house of Cornelius. That's why

1271. that, that thing that happened, God had to do

1272. it that way to break something. You understand?

1273. While Peter spoke, he was still speaking. Vroom!

1274. He didn't do anything. It's to teach him to know

1275. that, no, it's not by what you are thinking.

1276. No. The Holy Ghost fell on them and they started

1277. speaking in tongues and prophesying. Those people

1278. who were at them, they said, those who have the

1279. circumcision, meaning the Jews. You understand?

1280. They were marvelous. Eh? When the Jerusalem brethren

1281. heard it, immediately Peter came and said, come

1282. here. They were late. He must say, what did you

1283. just do? Peter said, sorry, sorry. Let me explain.

1284. Let me explain. Is that what you are thinking?

1285. Peter started narrating the story and equated

1286. with what happened to them at the day of Pentecost.

1287. He said, just like what happened to us at the

1288. beginning. He was referring to Acts chapter 2.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

1289. He said, I saw that God showed no favoritism.

1290. So there were things that they were struggling

1291. in that early church. Remember Galatians chapter

    Galatians 2:20

1292. 2, verse 20, where Paul made the statement, you

1293. know, most of them know only Galatians 2, 20.

1294. I have been crucified with Christ. Are we together?

1295. And then we begin to quote that scripture, no

1296. longer I, but Christ that lives in me and the

1297. life I live now in the flesh, I live by the,

1298. you know what I'm saying? By the faith. We quote

1299. that scripture, but the origin of that scripture

1300. is a confusion that Peter wanted to cause. Because

1301. they disdain the Gentiles. Gentiles are seen

1302. as unclean. You can imagine, even though they

1303. were brethren, they were eating. Once the Jews

1304. came, Peter just do like this. And just, the

1305. Bible say, and he separate himself. He don't

1306. separate. He set himself apart. Paul saw that

1307. he was angry. You know why? Because what Peter

1308. did was already drawing a lot of people. He said,

1309. what? He said, did you, you understand, received

1310. what you received by your making or by believing?

1311. Are we together? So they struggle with a lot

1312. of things because we saw their progression into

1313. the revelation of God. Remember the closing of

1314. the gospel. Show to us who they were. They even

1315. never believed the Christ. They were dejected.

1316. They thought he was one. Who has come to save

1317. Israel. From the Romans. He said we thought.

1318. He come to restore Israel. That was a confusion.

1319. Brothers Tomo. Tomo didn't even believe. Even

1320. when they told him. He said no. I have to see

1321. him. So. Jesus Christ dealt with a lot of things.

1322. And he opened their eyes that they might understand

1323. the scriptures. And when their eyes opened, he

1324. saw him. He said, go to Jerusalem and tarry there

1325. until you endure with power. So we saw that entry

1326. and we saw them grow in understanding. So that's

1327. the same thing with the issue of baptism. In

1328. some instances, once believers believe, they

1329. will baptize them. Did you understand what I'm

1330. saying? They will baptize what? They will baptize

1331. them. The same thing. So he said, they have understood

1332. that. Philip happened with the Ethiopian, you

1333. know. He said, see water. You know what I'm saying?

1334. And then they came down. After he preached to

1335. him, he said, he believe he do believe inside

1336. water. And then he moved. Glory to Jesus. But

1337. after those moments, by the time you move, you

1338. move away from act 11 and begin to move up. Huh?

1339. You begin to see a new. men of revelation. Are

1340. we together? Did you see that? Even when they

1341. were about to choose the person who replaced

1342. Judas, how did they do it? Oh, talk to me now.

1343. How did they do it? The one they knew before

1344. by casting lot. Oh, that should be you. Do you

1345. understand what I'm saying? But after then, after

1346. the Holy Ghost came and they begin to walk in

1347. the reality, how do they choose those who will

1348. be leadership? No longer by do, by lots. It's

1349. by appointing. Did you understand what I'm saying?

1350. That is how they agree you in revelation. Also,

1351. they used to baptize. Deep people in water. But

1352. now as they grew, they understood that what John

1353. was doing was a demonstration of what the Christ

1354. will do. You know what I'm saying? They saw that

1355. it has been fulfilled. We will not be practicing

1356. what they have been fulfilled. You know what

1357. I'm saying? So they gradually, and that's why

1358. when you read the epistle, you will never see

1359. those things. You know what I'm saying? Because

1360. by then, you are grounded. In the world. Are

1361. we together? Are we together? Amen. So that's

1362. what we're saying. Hallelujah. So when you see

1363. that text where we are reading. Verse 14. Of

1364. Acts chapter 8. Now when the apostle who were

    Acts 8 chapter mention

1365. at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received

1366. the word of God. He sent Peter and John. To them

1367. who, when they had come down, prayed for them

1368. that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For

1369. as yet he had fallen upon none of them. They

1370. had only been baptized in the name of Jesus.

1371. Then, now you could see the difference between

1372. this baptism. Baptizing in the name is different

1373. from after they believed they were baptized.

1374. Did you understand what I'm saying? Are we together?

1375. Yes. Then they laid their hands on them and they

1376. received the Holy Ghost. Pastor Iman and Pastor

1377. Kostin will be discussing most of this demonstration

1378. in the spirit. You understand? About the baptism,

1379. about the offerings, the giftings. You understand?

1380. So I won't dwell in those things. But just know

1381. that This is a demonstration of the Spirit when

1382. hands were laid. And what we call, you know,

1383. this here he said the Spirit felt or the feeling

1384. of the Spirit. I think those of us who have been

1385. in the church, we have in some ways touched those

1386. issues. What does that mean to be filled with

1387. the Spirit? I think there's one text Pastor Carson

1388. read for us when he was taking, I think, was

1389. it last week or what? Or was it today when he

1390. was leading? our prayer, you understand, about

1391. Ephesians chapter 5, you understand? Remember?

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

1392. Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18. He said, do not

    Ephesians 5:18

1393. be drunk with wine, right? But be filled with

1394. what? The Holy Spirit. That church in Ephesians,

1395. I hope you know that they have been filled with

1396. the Holy Spirit before. Huh? Because that church

1397. was Acts 19. Huh? Paul had laid the hand on them.

1398. They are filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke

1399. in tongues. You understand? They prophesied.

1400. And then he wrote to them again and said, Be

1401. filled with the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. So when

1402. Peter and John arrived in Samaria, they laid

1403. hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

1404. Now look at what Simon did. Simon said, give

1405. me this power. Verse 19. Also, that anyone whom

1406. I lay hands may receive. Not the word, this power.

1407. Do you understand what I'm saying? Look at verse

1408. 20. But Peter said to him, your money perish

1409. with you because you thought the gift of God

1410. will be purchased with money. Remember, note

1411. that word, the gift of God, what Peter said.

1412. You thought the gift of God. Listen, when you

1413. say, give me the power, Peter did not say, that

1414. was wrong. See. Simon Peter was not talking about,

1415. sorry, Simon, not the Peter. You know, we have

1416. Simon there. You know, not Simon Peter. There

1417. was Simon Peter there and there is Simon. Or

1418. Simon. Amen? The Simon, the sorcerer. He was

1419. not talking, when he said, give me that power,

1420. he was not referring to the Holy Spirit. When

1421. he said, give me that power in 19. He was referring

1422. to the laying of hands because that's what he

1423. saw. When hands, when they came, they laid their

1424. hands. He not saw. He was filled with the Holy

1425. Spirit. There were things that happened. He saw

1426. it. He said, give me this power. That's why he

1427. said, so that when I lay my hands. Did you see

1428. that? And Peter said, Peter, when Peter was talking

1429. about, he said, that, no, no, no, no, no. You

1430. can't. Let me see. Verse. Verse 20, he said,

1431. your money perish with you because you thought

1432. the gift of God could be purchased with money.

1433. He said, the gift of God could be purchased with

1434. money. What did Peter call it? Peter called it

1435. the gift of God. The laying of hands, Peter called

1436. it what? The gift of God. Say, I have the gift

1437. of God. I have the gift of God to demonstrate

1438. the power of God to this generation. Peter called

1439. laying of hands the gift of God. By calling the

1440. gift of God, Peter just means also that laying

1441. of hands is supernatural. That's what we've been

1442. saying. Laying of hands is supernatural. By just

1443. saying the gift of God. He said, how dare you

1444. talk about the gift of God with money? But that

1445. gift of God has been given to me because I am

1446. in Christ. Because I am in Christ. Now in closing

1447. for this session, I want you to observe something.

1448. Maybe throughout that you've been reading. Did

1449. you observe? That not just only from where we

1450. are coming, that when hands were laid, people

1451. were healed. But again, we can administer the

1452. baptism of the Holy Ghost by laying of hands.

1453. So things happen when hands are laid. Things

1454. happen when hands are laid. That was what Simon

1455. saw. Even a man of sorcery was confused. He saw

1456. his power, his joke. His power was joke. He said,

1457. give me this power. So that when I lay my hands

1458. to, I'll see those things. But the man was confused.

1459. He's used to when you do his sorcery, maybe they

1460. are bringing change to him. Now he saw those

1461. men, he said, ah, maybe you can make money. And

1462. that's it, this generation. Native doctors have

1463. stopped living in the bush. They have returned

1464. to the city. They are wearing coats. Is it coat

1465. or suit? Or whatever. Do you understand what

1466. I'm saying? Now, did you notice that? All the

1467. instances where the Holy Ghost fell on people,

1468. men were involved, except in Acts chapter 2,

    Acts 2 chapter mention

1469. in the day of Pentecost. After the day of Pentecost,

1470. did you realize? All those times the Holy Ghost

1471. fell on people, men were involved. In Samaria,

1472. men were involved. In Saul of Tarsus, Acts chapter

    Acts 9 chapter mention

1473. 9, a man was involved. In Acts chapter 10, in

    Acts 10 chapter mention

1474. the house of Cornelius, men were involved. In

1475. Acts chapter 19, in Ephesus. Brother, men are

    Acts 19 chapter mention

1476. the systems and the method of God. You are a

1477. method of God. Do you understand what I'm saying?

1478. God can do without us, but he has never done

1479. without us. This is what he chose. These are

1480. some of the things that marveled the psalmist.

1481. He said, what is man that thou art mindful of?

1482. Uh -uh. You made him a little lower than Elohim,

1483. angels. For you have crowned him with glory and

1484. honor and put all the works of your hands. Do

1485. you understand what I'm saying? Why? You are

1486. mindful of him. You matter. I'm rounding up this

1487. part to tell you that don't look down on yourself.

1488. The Holy Ghost in you, you matter. You are a

1489. system. You are a method. God wants to do with

1490. you. The great things he wants to do, he wants

1491. to go with you. What a glory to partner with.

1492. Some of us are in the academia. You know what

1493. it means when you are a coming -of -scientist

1494. and you wrote a paper and your augur? You know,

1495. Oga? You understand? You have a prof who is notable.

1496. His name is on that paper. Before you know, it's

1497. an honor to collaborate with the heavyweights.

1498. You understand what I'm saying? But our collaboration

1499. is not just only that he's somewhere, we're somewhere.

1500. No. We're in him. He's in us. Are we together?

1501. I want you to move to know that your hands are

1502. not just for picking things up, for eating. It's

1503. a system. It's a transmitter of the power of

1504. God. I'm going to do it here. So when hands are

1505. laid upon you, you know what is coming upon you.

1506. It's not just somebody is touching you. No. It's

1507. a gift to the body. You know, we have to, we

1508. will teach some of those things with time. We

1509. worship God by knowledge. So when God talks about

1510. raise your hands in worship, ask men all around

1511. to raise their hands. Don't think you are just

1512. doing like this. You know what I'm saying? Listen,

1513. know that your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost.

1514. And your body, He's a transmitter of God's power.

1515. Are we together? Can you just appreciate God

1516. and thank him and say, Lord, thank you. Just

1517. for one or two minutes, I want you just to pray.

1518. We appreciate you being here today. We hope you

1519. carry this word with you throughout your week.
