Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. James chapter 5 verse 14. Is any among
-
you sick? Let him call the elders of the church
-
and let them pray over him, anointing him with
-
oil in the name of the Lord. Verse 15. And the
-
prayer of faith will save the sick or would heal
-
the sick and the Lord will raise him. And if
-
he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. So
-
we were trying to discuss that at the end of
-
last session, that one pattern we have seen,
-
that no apostle or Jesus ever appoint or ordain
-
leaders in the church. Or lead us by using oil.
-
And we say it's by laying of hands. By laying
-
of hands. Again, I think we were discussing with
-
the pastors. We said laying of hands is supernatural.
-
Are we together? And we said at the ending that
-
that does not mean that you can't use oil. And
-
we noted that we have the power to impact the
-
power of God through oil for people to be healed.
-
Just like we saw the aprons and handkerchiefs.
-
Just like we saw the shadow of Peter. That means
-
things can leave our body. to heal others. Did
-
you understand what I'm saying? So, but we have
-
not seen the use of oil in ordination or appointing
-
of elders. Look at James, and we saw that James
-
was writing to the Jews who were scattered abroad.
-
They were believers, but they were Jews. And
-
so it makes sense why he has to talk about oil
-
because he's the only person that seems to connote
-
the use of oil. And remember, even here in James,
-
it's not in ordaining elders, it's to the sick.
-
You saw the disciples that I want to show you
-
one pattern. You saw when Jesus asked the disciples
-
to go and preach and heal, they use oil to anoint
-
the sick. Do you understand what I'm saying?
-
Again, Here is also the sick. As we said, it
-
has its medicinal value and inclination to be
-
used. And I want you to note verse 15. So that
-
you know that what is doing the work is not the
-
oil. He said clearly that the prayer of what?
-
Faith. That was saved there. Shall save the sick,
-
means I heal the sick. And the Lord would raise
-
him up. So it's unambiguous that what does the
-
work is a prayer of faith. Are we together? Amen.
-
Now let's study further. Now apart just anoints,
-
let's look at the word anointed. Anointed is
-
translated from the word cryo, C -H -R -I -O
-
in Greek. That word in the New Testament appears
-
about five times. Anointed, it appears five times
-
in the New Testament. Four of which refers to
-
Jesus only. Or in reference to Jesus only. And
-
I want you just to read those texts. Luke chapter
-
4 verse 18. Luke chapter 4 verse 18. The spirit
-
of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed
-
me to preach the gospel to the poor. Of course,
-
very clearly there he anointed. He has sent me
-
to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty
-
to the captive, to recover the sight to the blind,
-
and to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
-
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
-
Of course, You know, that's a quotation from
-
Isaiah. Are we together? Amen. If you read Isaiah
-
61, you see that 61, verse 1 and 2. Also, we
-
see the next text that shows that is also...
-
Acts chapter 10, verse 38, how God has anointed.
-
Anointed. See that again. But I will read the
-
next one, which is Acts chapter 4. So Acts chapter
Acts 4 chapter mention Acts 10:38
-
10, verse 38 shows us something about Jesus also.
-
He anointed him with the Holy Ghost and power.
-
or Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit
-
or Holy Ghost with power. And then Jesus went
-
around doing good and healing all who were oppressed
-
by the devil for God was with him. Look at chapter
-
four, verse 27. Chapter four, verse 27. For truly,
-
Against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed.
-
Again, about Jesus. Both Herod and Pontius Pilate,
-
with the Gentiles and the people of Israel were
-
gathered together. Amen. Hebrews chapter 1, verse
-
9. Hebrews chapter 1, verse 9. You have loved
-
righteousness and hated lawlessness. Therefore,
-
God, your God, has anointed you with the oil
-
of gladness more than your companions. Again,
-
he's talking about Jesus or Christ. Now, if you
-
look closely, particularly these two texts, look
-
for the direct quotation from Isaiah 61, verse
-
1 and 2. Look for 18. Of course, when Peter was
-
speaking and he noted Acts chapter 10 verse 38,
-
he was also not speaking from a vacuum or it
-
was not novel. He was speaking from the writings
-
of the prophets. Are we together? Remember, he
-
was explaining, he was preaching in the house
-
of Cornelius, telling him the gospel. He was
-
leaning as well on who? On the text Isaiah 61,
-
verse 1 and 2. Because that's exactly what Isaiah
-
61 is talking about. How God anointed Christ
-
with the Holy Ghost and power and waited about
-
doing good. And that's exactly Isaiah 61. You
-
understand? Although not quoted like Luke 4,
-
but... The background is Isaiah 61. Because that's
-
exactly what he was anointed to do. Are we together?
-
So when Peter talked about that, and then he
-
spoke, they listened and they understood the
-
mission of the Messiah. And while he speak, the
-
Holy Ghost fell on them. So in all this, we can
-
see that they are referring to the consecration
-
for ministry. I mean, that's again being separated.
-
When you said one is anointed in this context
-
of Christ in the Son. In fact, Isaiah would say,
-
for the Spirit of God is upon me, for he has
-
anointed me. So he starts listing the things.
-
Which means that he is separated for this purpose.
-
He is separated for this purpose. So the only
-
place that anointed was used that wasn't referring
-
to Christ is 2 Corinthians 1 .21. 2 Corinthians
-
1 .21. Now, he who established us with you in
-
Christ has done what? Has anointed us in God.
-
Has anointed us in God. Has anointed us in God.
-
Here, you can see that anointed is used for who?
-
All believers. anointed is used for all believers.
-
Did you see that? Because he says that Now he
-
who establishes us with you, he said us with
-
you in Christ, has anointed us is God. So he's
-
talking about all believers. All believers. It
-
is not referring to preachers, except that the
-
fact that the preachers are also what? Believers.
-
This is not a text that is talking about only
-
those who are anointed as believers. I mean as
-
preachers. But of course, if you put it to preachers
-
as believers, then of course it's talking about
-
preachers as well. So some preachers called 1
-
Chronicles. 1 Chronicles, I don't know which
-
one we'll use, but it means the same thing. Let's
-
read from 1 Chronicles maybe. 1 Chronicles 16.
-
That same text was... repeated in Psalms 105
-
verse 15. 1 Chronicles 16. Let me just read that
-
one, 1 Chronicles, because of course. 16 verse
-
22. Are you in 22? Saying, do not touch my anointed
-
ones. and do my prophet no harm. This text, this
-
text, preachers like it. Once you begin to talk
-
about it, you say, touch not the Lord's anointed,
-
except you want to die. You know, believers now,
-
we are called to give life, but we want to always
-
call death. Now, if you stay there one verse,
-
you might not. So just move backward, you will
-
know. So verse 20, when they went, look at the
-
day, it's not one person. He said, when they
-
went from nation to nation and from one kingdom
-
to another people, he permitted no man to do
-
them wrong. Yes, he rebuked kings for their sake.
-
So this place is talking about the entire nation
-
of Israel. So it's not talking about some specific
-
people. It's not talking about some specific
-
people. It's talking about the entire nation
-
of Israel. So the word anointed or cryo simply
-
means to set apart or to consecrate. But we saw
-
the term by Jesus as well used for the believers
-
that were being set apart. So, when you try to
-
replace the word anointed with set apart in all
-
the texts, you can read it well. Notice, I want
-
you to note, that it is not referring to power.
-
Did you observe that? He's talking about that
-
we have been separated, we have been consecrated,
-
or Christ has been consecrated for the work,
-
for the purpose of which he changed. Are we together?
-
Again, there's another word. So, when we said,
-
I am anointed, I know, they know that we are
-
picking it from second, Corinthians 1, 20 what?
-
I am anointed. Anody is the same word. I will
-
preach Jesus everywhere I go. I am his. He is
-
mine. I will follow him until the end of time.
-
So, That's what we're saying. Are we together?
-
So, we have seen anoint. We have seen anointed.
-
And there's another word, anointing. John is
-
the only person that uses it. Anointing. You
-
understand? We like that word. So let me tap
-
anointing. Okay, let's see whether that is what
-
we can tap like palm wine. Glory to Jesus. Are
-
you in 1 John chapter 2? Let me read from verse,
1 John 2 chapter mention
-
1 John chapter 2, let me read from verse 18.
1 John 2 chapter mention
-
Please, I want you to pay attention. Little children,
-
it is the last hour. And as you have heard that
-
the Antichrist is coming. Even now, many Antichrists
-
have come by which we know that it is the last
-
hour. Are we together? By which we know it is
-
the last hour. How do we know? Because many Antichrists
-
have already... Are we together? Amen. Amen.
-
Remember where we read yesterday in John? John
-
told us that if any man does not believe that
-
Jesus Christ came in the flesh, 2 John chapter,
-
2 John, yes, 1. Of course, it's only 1, but 7.
-
If any man does not believe that Jesus Christ
-
has come in the flesh, he's an antichrist. Is
-
that okay? Yes. So you can see that John is also
-
talking about antichrist here. He said they have
-
already, he's there here. And that's why we know
-
he's the last hour in the sun. They went out
-
from us, but they were not of us. For if they
-
had been, Of us. They would have continued with
-
us. But they went out. That they might be made
-
manifest. That none of them. Were of us. But
-
you have an anointing. Please pay attention.
-
You have an anointing. From the Holy One. And
-
you know. All things. You know all things. So
-
first and foremost. What is that anointing? He
-
said you have. So it's not something you are
-
trying to. Because he's talking to believers
-
here. So first and foremost, whatever it is we're
-
going to see. But he's trying to tell the believers
-
that you have an anointing. You have the anointing.
-
And he said that anointing is from the Holy One.
-
And what that anointing does is that Because
-
of the anointing, they know all things. The question
-
is that what is the all things he's talking about?
-
Again, we have to see. Verse 21. I have not written
-
to you because you do not know the truth. I have
-
not written to you because you do not know the
-
truth. No. You know it. Don't worry. Whatever
-
condition, we shall preach. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
So he said, you have an anointing. He said, I'm
-
writing to you. He said, verse 21. He said, I
-
have not written to you. Is this one still working?
-
Okay. I have written to you because you... He
-
said, I have not written to you because you do
-
not know the truth. But because you know it,
-
and that no lie is of the truth. So he don't
-
defy the lie, which is the opposite of the truth.
-
Verse 22. Who is a liar? He said, but he who
-
denies that Jesus, who denies that Jesus is the
-
what? Is the Christ. He is what? The Antichrist.
-
Who denies the father and the son? Verse 23.
-
Whoever denies the son does not have the father
-
either. He who acknowledges the son has a father
-
also. Therefore, let that abide in you. Wait
-
a minute. Let which abide? What is he talking
-
about it should abide? He said, let that abide.
-
Of course, he's talking about the truth. He said,
-
let the truth abide in you, which you heard from
-
the beginning. Did you hear that? Remember John?
-
Are you together with me? Which you heard from
-
where? You remember John 1 .1. That which was
-
from the beginning, which we have heard. which
-
we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked
-
upon and our hands have handled concerning the
-
word of life. Did you see that? He said that
-
which is from the word, the beginning. That's
-
the same thing. So he's talking about the light
-
they have received about a person. That's why
-
when you read, John 1 verse 2, he said, Verse
-
3, So he's talking about that. That which you
-
have had from the beginning, He said, abide.
-
He said, let that abide in you. If what you had
-
from the beginning abides in you, you also will
-
abide in the Son and in the Father. And in this
-
is the promise. And this is a promise that He
-
has promised us eternal life. These things...
-
I have written to you concerning those who try
-
to deceive you. Again, verse 27, he said, But
-
the anointing which you have received from him
-
abides in you, and you do not need anyone to
-
teach you. Are we together? You know, this is
-
one of the texts so many people now use, say
-
we don't need teachers. You see, if you jump
-
out of context, you are going to put anything
-
that is there. But as the same anointing teaches
-
you concerning all the things, and it's true,
-
and it's not a lie, and just as it has taught
-
you, You, it's not you will. It's you abide,
-
you understand? He said in him. Now, listen.
-
All that we have been talking about abide, abides.
-
There is no way it instructs the believer to
-
abide in him. That him is it. Because he has
-
already mentioned in verse 21, you understand?
-
That therefore, sorry, verse 21. No, 24. Therefore,
-
let that abide in you which you have received
-
from the beginning. What they have received is
-
the knowledge of God. You understand what I'm
-
saying? So, he said, let that abide. That's an
-
instruction to the believer. Abide in the knowledge
-
of him you have received. Are we together? When
-
Paul said, I have fought a good fight. I have
-
finished my race. I have kept the faith. What
-
he's saying is that I have kept the sound doctrine,
-
which means he has abided in the truth. You do
-
want something? So you can't tell a believer
-
to abide in Christ. Where is he? In the sun.
-
You can only tell the unbeliever to come to Christ
-
because the believer is already in the Christ.
-
So that last part. Abide in him is abide in it.
-
Because that is the knowledge, not a person.
-
It's the knowledge of the person. Because you
-
are speaking to believers. Again. When you look
-
at the word anointing. As we said, it was used
-
by John Luke. Verse 20 and verse 27. So that
-
word anointing is. chrisma. That is C -H -R -I
-
-S -M -E. It means to smear. Please, take good,
-
pay attention. Anointing is not power. It means
-
to smear. In a sense, smearing something. In
-
verse 20, John, was not referring to the Spirit
-
either. When he was talking, he said, but you
-
have an anointing from the Holy One. That anointing
-
is not the Spirit. Remember, the context is Antichrist
-
that they have come. That's the context. So here
-
the discussion is about Antichrist that came
-
with a knowledge. And that knowledge is a lie.
-
And that's why he said, Who is a liar? You see,
-
a liar is a one who denies that Jesus is the
-
Christ. That's the reason why if you check, he
-
said you have an anointing and you, verse 20,
-
and you know all things. Now, all things here,
-
as Pastor Fred would say yesterday, is not all
-
like in English. It's contextual. What is all
-
he's talking about? Verse 21 says, I have not
-
written to you because you do not know the truth.
-
But because you know it. And that no lie is of
-
the truth. So I want you to note that part. Very
-
important. So. If you look in carefully, the
-
word anointing here means knowledge. Note carefully.
-
The word anointing here in this context means
-
knowledge. So if you substitute it with knowledge.
-
But you have a knowledge from the Holy One. And
-
you know all things. Because you have the knowledge.
-
And what knowledge is he talking about? He said,
-
you know the truth. It's the knowledge of the
-
truth. And that knowledge is okay, but that's
-
the knowledge he said, you know all things. That
-
is, you know the truth about the Christ, that
-
he is the Christ. Those who speak otherwise are
-
liars. That's why he said, In that thing, you
-
do not need a teacher. Are we together? This
-
type of knowledge, that's why he said, the spirit
-
be a witness with our spirit that we are who?
-
We are the sons of who? Are we together? So,
-
do you need anyone to tell you again that you
-
are born again? No. That's why he said, if you
-
look downward, verse 27, he said, but the anointing
-
which you have received. From him, there is a
-
knowledge that comes from identifying with God.
-
Did you understand what I'm trying to say? He
-
beareth witness. There is a knowing that you
-
receive from him. You don't need a teacher, that
-
one. You know, you know. Did you understand what
-
I'm saying? You know. And that knowing, because
-
without you, you wouldn't have even been born
-
again. And that's why you don't need a teacher
-
that already you are in that you know. That's
-
what is disgusting. And because antichrists have
-
gone out trying to discredit that Jesus is not
-
Christ, Jesus is not the Christ, you say, no,
-
no, no, no, no. You already have it inside you.
-
You don't need anyone to teach you. You say,
-
I do not need anyone to teach you. Here is not
-
even... Because he's referring to the Antichrist
-
who have gone out. Because they are spreading
-
all kinds of lies. He says, you don't need those
-
things. But the same anointing, the same knowledge,
-
he teaches you concerning all things. And what
-
is this all things? The knowledge of the truth.
-
The knowledge that Jesus is the Christ. And that's
-
why he said, And it is true. Look at it. You
-
see that? You see that? He said concerning all
-
things. And it is true. What is the other opposite
-
lie? What did he say? He said those who say that
-
Jesus is not the Christ. That is the lie. The
-
truth is that Jesus is the Christ. He said you
-
know it. You don't need any teacher. And just
-
as. It has taught you. Just as it, just as it
-
has taught you, abide in it, not abide in him.
-
Do you understand what I'm saying? It's tautology.
-
Is it even tautology? It's somehow to tell a
-
believer to abide in him. Do you understand what
-
I'm saying? Are we together? Okay, let's see
-
John. You know, sometimes you have to work with
-
John to understand what he's trying to say. You
-
only tell the believer to come into Christ, to
-
abide in him. Look at 1 John. Go down what? Go
-
to chapter 3. Because it's a continuation. Look
-
at verse 23. And this is his commandment, that
-
we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus
-
Christ, and love one another. As he gave us commandment.
-
Now, he who keeps his commandment, do what? Talk
-
to me. Oh, are we together? Okay, let's read
-
this verse. Let's read it. Let's read it together.
-
You understand? Verse 24. Let's read verse 23
-
first. Go back to 23. Let's read together. Now,
-
and this is his commandment. Please note. You
-
know, sometimes when they say commandment, the
-
first thing that comes to your mind is do, don't.
-
Do, don't. No. Don't. Just read. Don't worry.
-
Just read. One, two, three, go. And this is his
-
commandment that we should believe on the name
-
of his son, Jesus Christ. As he. So what is the
-
commandment here? And what is the commandment
-
here? Good is one and the same. It's like love
-
the Lord with all your heart and also love your
-
neighbor as yourself. You understand? So he said
-
we should believe. That's the commandment. It's
-
not do's and don'ts. Are we together? Next, verse
-
24. One, two, three, go. Now he who keeps his
-
commandment abide in him. Stop. What is this
-
commandment? Believe, right? So, hear that belief,
-
do what? So, can you say to a believer who has
-
believed, bro, can you abide in him? Is that
-
correct? No. So, you can see that if you obey
-
the commandment, that means you abide in him.
-
And he in you. Are we together? And that's why
-
he continued, he said, and by this we know that
-
he abides in where? By you. By the spirit, which
-
what? Oh my goodness. So it's a confusing fact
-
to tell a believer abides in God. What you are
-
saying, he does not have the spirit. Any man
-
that have the spirit abides in him. If you do
-
not have the spirit, you are none of his. I am
-
his and he is mine. So when you go back to chapter
-
2, when verse 20 is an error of this, you understand?
-
So it's not abide in him. No, it's abide in it.
-
It's in the knowledge. And what is the knowledge?
-
You abide in the knowledge of the truth. Are
-
we together? So anointing here is not power.
-
Anointing here is not the Holy Spirit. Anointing
-
here is knowledge. Knowledge of the Holy One.
-
Glory to Jesus. Are we together? So you could
-
see that. In all that we have searched, there
-
is nowhere. So now, if you say, bro, I want to
-
tap anointing. Did you see that you are confusing?
-
Because knowledge is not something you tap. Did
-
you get what I'm trying to say? Did you tap knowledge?
-
No. You are taught knowledge. After all, This
-
type of knowledge, he said, you do not need a
-
what? A teacher, because you know it. Remember,
-
the teachers he's even referring here are those
-
antichrists, because they are coming to bamboozle
-
them with a new different thing. So, are we together?
-
Now, go to Mark. Mark. Chapter 10, verse 16.
-
Quickly, Mark 10, 16. Are you in Mark 10, 16?
-
Are you in Mark 10, 16? So now your language
-
about anointing, anointed, anoint have to be
-
adjusted. You have to speak as one who has been
-
taught. Amen. Are we together? Verse 16. And
-
he took them up. Of course, he's talking about
-
the little children. Verse 14. But when Jesus
-
saw it, he was greatly displeased and said to
-
them. Verse 13. Then they brought little children
-
to him that he might touch them. But the disciples
-
rebuked those who brought them. But Jesus saw
-
it, he was greatly displeased, and said to them,
-
Let the little children come to me, and do not
-
forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.
-
Assuredly I say to you, whoever does not receive
-
the kingdom of God as a little child, will by
-
no means enter it. Verse 16. And he took them
-
in his arm, laid his hands on them, and do what?
-
He laid his hands and blessed them. So we saw
-
laying of our hands to heal the sick in the sun,
-
to cast men into the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
-
To ordain or to consecrate, to separate, to appoint.
-
Now we have seen also another term, to bless.
-
What does that mean, to bless? Jesus Christ carried
-
the children and he blessed them. That word is
-
a verb, blessed. We together? Please follow me.
-
It was translated from the Greek word. Which
-
means to speak well of. To celebrate by praising
-
or by thanksgiving. To speak well of. To speak
-
well of. Eulogio is the root word for eulogitos.
-
Now, this one is eulo, then gitos means g -e
-
-t -o -s, tos. Now, eulogitos is an adjective.
-
It means praise, adoration, or adorable. Or spoken
-
well of. That one is a verse. This one is an
-
adjective. Now, from these eulogators, we have
-
the English terms we know today. Eulogize, right?
-
Eulogy. Amen? Yes, that's where we got those
-
words. And so... Apart from these eulogitos,
-
or in this case, let's use the adjective. Yes,
-
the eulogitos, we have another term for blessed
-
or blessing, which is, yesterday Pastor Fred
-
noted that, makarios. M -K -A -R -O -U -R -O
-
-R -I -O -S. A -K -A -R -I -O -S. Which means
-
to be fortunate. Means to be fortunate. Well
-
of. Or praise. Or happy. No, no praise. To be
-
fortunate. To be well of. Or to be happy. The
-
other one which we talked about. You will get
-
told it has to do with praise, adorable, or spoken
-
well of. These are the two you see in text where
-
they appear. In all this, you will see where
-
it talks about plenty money. You understand?
-
No, they don't mean plenty money. So Jesus laid
-
hands on the children to bless them. They were
-
not sick. Are we together? Amen. They were not
-
sick. He laid his hands on them to bless them.
-
He put his hand on them. What did he do? He blessed
-
them by the Spirit and spoke words upon them.
-
So we do that also with the laying of hands.
-
Are we together? We do that also with the what?
-
with the laying of hands. Come, let me show you
-
how to bless. Come. Because that is what we do.
-
And all of us are going to do it in the sun.
-
To bless, as I said, means to speak words by
-
the Spirit upon the person. Are we together?
-
It's like we lay hands on him and then you declare
-
words. By the Spirit. Huh? You are blessed as
-
you move out. Any limitations of men is not your
-
limitations. I decree progress upon your life.
-
You are kept by the power of God. You are not
-
stranded. You are not stranded in the name of
-
Jesus. You are not stranded. That is means to
-
bless. Do you understand what I'm saying? That's
-
what it means to bless. You are praying your
-
heart and you are releasing them. Do you understand
-
what I'm saying? So we use the laying of hands
-
as well for that. Any word you speak comes with
-
power because there is a transmittance. Are we
-
together? Remember we said that our body are
-
God's methods. Understand? For releasing his
-
power. A God's way. So you begin to speak. Doors
-
are open. And you see things happen. That's blessing.
-
So when people are blessed like that, you see
-
things happen. So when Jesus laid hands on these
-
children, he said something. He blessed them.
-
He blessed them. Are we together? Hallelujah.
-
So now, usually the reason why many believers
-
miss supernatural things. It's because they are
-
looking for the spectacular. Like what I did
-
to Prince. Many people are watching for him to
-
somatumble. That's when they will know something
-
has happened. Did you understand what I'm saying?
-
Sometimes when you begin to go that way, you
-
will miss what God is doing. Yes. Sometimes when
-
we stretch our hands and lay our hands, the spectacular
-
happens. But if you are always looking for the
-
spectacular, you missed a lot about God. Are
-
we together? Because you are trying to apply
-
feelings and the natural senses to decode where
-
the things. You want to see something. No, we
-
walk by faith, not by word, not by sight. So
-
be careful that you are always focused on the
-
spectacular. So we have seen that the lay of
-
hands is done to minister the power of God to
-
the sick, to minister the baptism of the Spirit,
-
to impart blessings, to commission men into special
-
ministries, into ministries. In all these instances,
-
We saw effect of the laying of hands are evidence
-
in their life or in the life of the recipients.
-
Now the minister of laying of hands equips the
-
minister for greater works of ministry. So what
-
should we note? How do I receive? I think this
-
is where I'm going to round up this before we
-
start praying. How do I receive this ministry
-
from my brother, from my sister? How? How do
-
I receive the ministry of the laying of hands?
-
How? Go back to that Mark 6 where we read. We
-
read it. I want us to pay attention. In verse
-
1 and 2, Jesus taught and performed miracles
-
by the laying of hands. Look at it. Verse 2 says
-
that when the Sabbath had come, he began to teach
-
in the synagogue and many hearing him were astonished
-
saying, where did this man get these things?
-
And what wisdom is this which is given to him?
-
That such what? mighty works are performed by
-
his hands. So they saw it. You know, there is
-
something that happened. By the time you go to
-
verse 3 and 4, then they began to say, what type
-
of this thing is this? Is this not the carpenter,
-
the son of Mary, the brothers, we know them,
-
see them? How can this man be doing citizen?
-
But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without
-
honor except in his own country and among his
-
own relatives and in his own house. See, I've
-
seen this thing play out so well. That's why
-
you have to be careful, especially if you have
-
relatives, siblings in the sun, husband and wife.
-
God will really have to help you. God will really
-
have to help us all so that you don't treat what
-
is sacred common. And one of the greatest things
-
that you will have to treat with caution is familiarity.
-
You know the person in the natural very well.
-
So you tend to look down upon the person. No.
-
And it happens. One of my cousins, I used to
-
stay in their place, sleep with them. I mean,
-
God has been helping us. We have suffered a couple
-
of failures, but then we have realized, well,
-
thank the Lord for that. We went to school, we
-
are doing wonders, doing a lot of exploits. And
-
then, We enter university. Many people will come
-
to us. We'll teach them. We'll do tutorial. There
-
was a time the medical student called me. Then
-
I was the biochemistry. Biochemistry used to
-
give them tough time. So they called me from
-
the department. I will come and be doing tutorial
-
for them. There's one of our lecturer. Man, he
-
has been giving them tough time. So they will
-
call me. We'll go to a place which he doesn't
-
know. So they will collect the secret from me.
-
When they go, they will be of help. Because he
-
always wanted to make it difficult. So I would
-
do tutorials for them and all that. But this
-
is my cousin. We sleep in the same room. The
-
same bed. He was withdrawn in school while I'm
-
graduating first class. I mean, you don't understand
-
what I'm trying to say. This is how you can sit
-
with somebody in your own house. Have the grace
-
you want. Others from outside will come and collect
-
it. You, you'll be hungry here. That's why I
-
say you have to. That's why this statement is
-
scary sometimes. A prophet is not without honor
-
except in his own country and among his own relatives.
-
In his own house. You know, Jesus was bringing
-
the thing closer. First he said country. He now
-
moved to relatives. Move it to house. So, this
-
is one thing you have to be careful if you want
-
to receive the ministry of laying over hands.
-
Dishonor. When a man lays hands on you, don't
-
see your cousin. Don't see your husband. Don't
-
see your pastor. Don't see your friend. You have
-
to see him from the right perspective. Are we
-
together? You have to see him well in who he
-
is. Look at verse 5. He said, now he could do
-
no mighty miracle. This was the person they were
-
giving testimony in verse 2. Yeah? That they
-
said he did mighty miracles, mighty works. Are
-
performed by his hands. Mighty. Again in verse
-
5. In his own place. In his own country. With
-
his own people. He said he could do. No mighty
-
miracle. Mighty works there. Except. He laid
-
hands. On a few. Sick people. And healed them.
-
I believe these are people who. Who refuse. What
-
the other people are saying, they say, well,
-
if you people think that this is me, I will go.
-
They see where they collect their own. Dishonor
-
is a limitation. Dishonor is a limitation. What
-
began as mighty works, they saw it somewhere.
-
They were testifying of it, but they couldn't
-
receive it. Let me tell you the truth. Dishonor
-
limits the flow of the power of God. You can't
-
receive from what you dishonor, from what you
-
are disdaining. You treat it with contempt, like
-
Esau. You can't be part of it. You treat it anyhow.
-
You are rather... Man of God, how can a mighty
-
God be limited? Yes, I said that dishonor limits
-
the flow of the power of God. How can you say
-
that? Oh, yes. God can be limited by men because
-
he's not a tyrant. You know, he's only a tyrant
-
that whether you like it or not, he will crush
-
you and enter. No, God is not a tyrant. If you
-
refuse the salvation, he will not crush you to
-
collect it. So he's saving power and healing
-
power. How mighty he died on the cross. The power
-
to save his soul. But you see, when a man rejects,
-
he still hinders that. Yes. To those who refuse
-
to believe. you will limit the power of God.
-
So where this honor goes, unbelief goes. You
-
see, that's how they started. The Bible tells
-
us, if you look at that place, in that mark,
-
they started by looking, when you go down, you
-
will see what the Bible says. Hallelujah. But
-
6th and 7th, and he marveled because of the award.
-
He started as dishonor, he goes to unbelief.
-
Because that's how he sat. That's the point.
-
So look at the story of those God he rescued.
-
Psalm 78. Look at Psalm 78 verse 41. Are you
-
in Psalm 78? Verse 41. He said, Yes, again and
-
again they tempted God. And do what? And limited
-
the Holy One of who? Of Israel. How did they
-
limit that? The answer is unbelief. For 40 years,
-
God had been wanting to do wonders to them. They
-
refused. That's how they limited him. Through
-
unbelief. Are we together? If you go back to
-
verse 54 to verse 56, you will see that verse
-
56, yet they tested and provoked the Messiah
-
and did not keep his word, his testimonies, but
-
turned back and acted unfaithfully. Like their
-
what? Like their fathers. They were torn aside
-
like a deceitful ball. So dishonor and unbelief
-
work together. Dishonor will eventually drag
-
unbelief along. Be careful how you speak. Be
-
careful how you speak. Don't speak. less of sacred
-
things. Don't speak less of sacred things, of
-
spiritual things. You hear many believers who
-
talk anyhow. This is. Why will you be rushing
-
to touch the man of God? Why will you even have
-
to call him? Is he not God inside you? Can't
-
you pray in your own house? You can pray inside
-
your room and God will hear you. Yet that same
-
person has already taken an appointment to see
-
the doctor the next day and God is inside him.
-
Did you understand what I'm saying? When you
-
go to the doctor, does it show that you have
-
unbelief? They are not anti each other. But yet
-
that same unlearned person is trying to take
-
you out of where to receive. When you call the
-
elders, that means you believe. You are just
-
doing the will of God. Are you sick? He said,
-
call the elders. He knows the Holy Spirit is
-
inside you. He knows God, the one that is telling
-
you to call the elders is inside you. He knows
-
it. There is a system through which he reaches
-
people. And the system is man. The earlier you
-
understand it, the better for you. You understand?
-
God's system is man. He has never done anything
-
on the earth without man, and he will never do
-
anything on the earth without man. You better
-
know it now. He chose it like that. Can he do
-
without us? Yes. Has he ever done anything without
-
us? No. Are we together? Amen. He said, I will
-
read. I'll sit down and read my Bible. I don't
-
need anybody. I don't need anybody. And he forgot
-
that this man that wrote this one. I mean, how?
-
Hallelujah. No, don't make careless statement.
-
This honor is a limitation to receiving. What
-
is honor? Honor simply means I see you as you
-
are in Christ. That's honor. Honor means I see
-
you as you are in where? In Christ. For instance,
-
you can have a true scripture. Many places where
-
he asks us to honor one another. Look at 1 Thessalonians
-
5. Just giving you an example. Because... It
-
is the word of God, the will of God. He said,
-
I will hold your brethren to recognize those
-
who labor among you. And I'll offer you, that
-
is your leaders, in the Lord and admonish you.
-
Look at that. And to esteem them very highly.
-
Very highly. Esteem them what? highly in love
-
for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourself.
-
How can you be at peace when everybody's attitude
-
every day is a complaint to you? Honor means
-
I will not treat what is a sacred thing like
-
a common thing. Your brother is a holy... You
-
remember what we read? He's what? He's anointed.
-
Oh, are you hearing what I'm saying? He means
-
he has been set apart. He's a sacred. Don't treat
-
him as common. You know, there's a way some of
-
us, we like only people. He's only one you know
-
that his father is a senator. The way you treat
-
him differs. How cannot? You are cannot. Yet,
-
the man you are sitting. He's the next governor
-
he didn't know. Did you hear what I'm saying?
-
When you are watching TV and then your father
-
is telling you, that governor we are classmates,
-
you know they never knew children. They never
-
knew children. It's now that he has become something
-
that he wants to identify with you. Can you identify
-
with every brother here without discrimination?
-
That's why we often caution our sisters. Be careful.
-
When you begin to see a brother who singles you
-
out, suddenly the brother that has been stingy
-
is a generous man. And you are smiling. Hey,
-
be careful. He's not generous. is a conditional
-
generosity. Yes, sir. Be careful of brethren
-
whose attitudes are discriminatory. Which means
-
that it's not what is normal. It's not what flows.
-
Do you understand what I'm trying to say? Be
-
careful. You would think that they are doing
-
you... No, that's not true. So, I don't want
-
you for henceforth. You joke. I had to correct
-
some of her sisters. When they meet together,
-
do you say anything to her? You are foolish.
-
Huh? This foolish girl. This, this. I mean, how
-
can you be talking like that to your sister?
-
I mean, you don't understand that she is a sacred...
-
No. We always want to speak less of people. If
-
somebody comes around, it's just because they
-
are older than him. Say, a small boy. How are
-
you? Small boy. How about now? How can I say,
-
ah, man of God, how are you doing? I hope you
-
are doing well. I mean, does it cost you anything?
-
That is what God wants. Look at 2 Corinthians
-
5 .16. So see men, that is what, as God. See
-
men in Christ. That's honor. Are you 2 Corinthians
-
16? He said, therefore. From now on, we regard
-
no one according to what? You see, the problem
-
of those people in Nazareth is that they are
-
seeing Jesus in the what? In the flesh. He said,
-
even though we have known Christ according to
-
the flesh, Paul said we have knowledge. He does
-
this. But it has passed. He said, yet now, yet
-
now, we know him to us no longer. If you see
-
Jesus in the flesh, he will never be your savior.
-
Did you understand what I'm trying to say? Even
-
Mary, his mother, she had to believe in Jesus.
-
So if you are still praying for her, know that
-
she has also found a way. So what I'm trying
-
to say is that you must see him. as he is and
-
you must see your brother as he is in Christ.
-
That's all. If you want to receive the goodness
-
of God, it's with men. God decided that way to
-
put it in men. The goodness of God is with men.
-
It's in his church. And that's what he decided.
-
don't allow offense. That's another thing. Listen,
-
that's why if not, you remove some portions of
-
scripture, the Bible knows so other people offend
-
you. That's why I say, you should create space.
-
You should create space. You must hear this even
-
in the dark. Don't focus on offenses. Don't allow
-
them to settle your heart. If you are going to
-
have God blessed through your life or have others
-
blessed you, you must be relational. You must
-
learn to build quality relationships. Be careful
-
about the weakness of men. The limitation, the
-
limitation of the man of God can stop you from
-
receiving. I don't mean the limitation of man
-
of God can stop the power. Did you hear what
-
I said? You focusing on his limitation. can stop
-
you from benefiting from him. We admonish every
-
believer to be working on his life, to be working
-
on your character, to be working on things that
-
you are still weak at, to be practicing the Lord,
-
to be obedient. But as people grow, you have
-
to be patient. Because if you focus and look
-
at their weaknesses, you're not going to gain
-
anything from them. Did you understand what I'm
-
trying to say? You're not going to get. Numbers
-
27. Look at it. Numbers 27. Verse 18. Glory to
-
Jesus. I'm trying to discuss how can you receive
-
it. First, by honor. This honor limits the power
-
of God. Secondly, I'm trying to discuss that
-
be careful that you do not Allow the weakness
-
of men be an obstruction. Be an obstruction.
-
Look at verse 18. Numbers 27, 18. And the Lord
-
said to Moses, take Joshua the son of Num. With
-
you a man in whom is a spirit. And lay your hands
-
on him. Set him before. Eliza the priest. And
-
before all the congregation. And you greet him.
-
In their sight. And you shall give some of your
-
authority. Of course. That some is in italics.
-
You shall give your authority. Because he is
-
going. To him. That all the congregation of Israel.
-
may be obedient. He shall stand before Eliza
-
the priest who shall inquire before the Lord
-
for him. By the judgment of the Urim at his word
-
they shall go and at his word they shall come
-
in. He and all the children of Israel with him,
-
all the congregation. So Moses did as the Lord
-
commanded him. He took Joshua and set him before
-
Eliza, the priest, and before all the congregation.
-
And he laid his hands on him. And Enu greeted
-
him. In other words, he consecrated him. He set
-
him into ministry. Just as the Lord had commanded.
-
By the hand of Moses. By the hand of Moses. The
-
same person that disobeyed God is the one that
-
God uses or used to lay hands on the next leader.
-
Be careful. Hallelujah. Did you see that? Moses
-
has disobeyed God and disqualified him from entry.
-
But that same man is the one that will have to
-
the next one. That's why I say you have to be
-
careful with what you call weaknesses of a leader.
-
Look at Deuteronomy 34 .9. I want you to see.
-
That laying of hands, that place didn't say anything.
-
But look at Deuteronomy 34. You think, I see,
-
when Moses laid hand on him, nothing happened.
-
See it. See how the Bible put it. He said, now
-
Joshua, the son of Noam, was full of the spirit
-
of wisdom. Why? Why? He said, for Moses has what?
-
Has laid his hands on him. This is the man you
-
call already, he has missed it. He has already
-
disobeyed God. Now listen, there's one observation
-
which is very critical. I'm telling you, go and
-
look at it and study. Throughout Joshua's life,
-
throughout, there is no record. of him referring
-
to the error of Moses. Not one. No place ever
-
Joshua ever mentioned. There's no record. Joshua
-
ever referred to the mistake Moses did. Never.
-
Never. Joshua never spoke of Moses' mistakes.
-
We don't have record of it. He focused rather
-
on the instructions of Moses. Because they passed
-
those things to him. In fact, if you look at
-
Joshua chapter 11 verse 15. Joshua 11 verse 15.
-
Look at Joshua's focus. And the Lord, as the
-
Lord had commanded who? Had commanded Moses his
-
servant. So Moses commanded Joshua. And so Joshua
-
did what? He did. He left nothing undone of all
-
that the Lord have commanded Joshua. Is that
-
what your Bible says? Eh? The man was focused
-
in finishing the tax that was given to his master.
-
Even though he's no longer here. You, every now
-
and then, you go and find and see that one place.
-
You are talking every now and then about your
-
pastor. His mystic, his this, his that, his that.
-
Always. How can you receive from him? I know
-
we have questioned some of you. Then, small lie
-
you started having. Already you started attacking
-
people online. This is hypodigma. No, what you
-
are saying is wrong. You didn't know Greek? No.
-
Revelation is not for attacks all around. We
-
know the person we are attacking. When the Bible
-
says, for the weapons of our warfare are not
-
carnal, we know what we are doing. Our concern
-
is not the person of someone. It's not the personality.
-
Our concern is, he didn't say pulling down men.
-
He said pulling down stronghold. And what are
-
those stronghold? Casting down what? imaginations.
-
And every high thing that I exalted is served
-
beyond the knowledge of Christ. That is what
-
we are called to do. To go into those things.
-
Hallelujah. I want you to say this. I'm not a
-
carrier of men's fault. I'm not a carrier of
-
men's weaknesses. I see them in Christ. Hallelujah.
-
No, you are a carrier of the deposit of God.
-
You are a carrier of the goodness of God. You
-
are the carrier of the mandate of God. You're
-
not carrying fault of men. The Lord has laid
-
upon him the... our iniquities all. Are we together?
-
So don't carry any iniquity. Leave it. There
-
is someone that has carried it. You, there is
-
a mandate upon your life to carry. Hallelujah.
-
So to receive and to be blessed by people, you
-
must see them in Christ. You must see them as
-
who they are. These are men and women. who have
-
their fault. We all have in one way or the other.
-
Weaknesses. All of us must work at it. That's
-
why if you're a leader and your people who are
-
following, they could not see evidence of growth,
-
you are failing. How can somebody stay with you
-
for two, three years and even him cannot see
-
that something is happening in your life? Did
-
you understand what I'm trying to say? Something's
-
wrong. I'm challenging us, those who are in the
-
position of leadership. Don't stay the way you
-
are. There must be a sign that something has
-
improved in your life. That's what makes you
-
a leader. Not that you keep complaining that
-
the people are not coming. How can they come
-
when every day you are regurgitating Sambé? You
-
don't need to tell anybody where he is blessed,
-
he will come. Not all men will come, but you
-
will see the committed ones. So is there a way
-
to start complaining? Why won't you be every
-
day laboring for themselves? Those of you that
-
are leaders of UNITV, how many times do you have
-
all the leads and be praying for them? This work
-
is labor. Every day our prayer team read our
-
paphras, right? Who is one of you, right? Always
-
do a what? Labouring. I hope those people who
-
are believing it here, they are also labouring.
-
So of course, every believer must work at it.
-
Must work in the word. Must work on their weaknesses.
-
But you know, even while we are at it, our God
-
is still using the same people in the sun. If
-
the Holy Spirit indwells those people, brother,
-
it's enough to keep quiet. Are we together? Yes.
-
Even with their weaknesses, the Holy Ghost is
-
there. God is going to use people, you know what
-
I'm saying? Not because of their weaknesses.
-
I've said this over and over. You know what I'm
-
saying? Yes. The person, as he continues to become
-
weak and weaker, you know what I'm saying? The
-
person, too, is... His ministry will be shrinking.
-
But be careful. The fact that he's an ally does
-
not mean that he doesn't have anything. Did you
-
understand what I'm saying? Yes. So, you have
-
to know that. Samuel will not even choose David.
-
He came and saw the broad -chested man, that
-
guy, you know that guy, Eliab. And he confused
-
the prophet. He said, surely this is the Lord.
-
He saw Eliab instead of David. What is he trying
-
to tell us? A lot that you need as you want to
-
receive from men. Understand? You have to have
-
a large heart. You must see them in Christ. Oh,
-
I'm emphasizing that word. I hope you take note.
-
You must see them where? In Christ. Lastly, let
-
me say this. Very important. Because we're going
-
to pray in the sun. We're going to use those
-
moments. All that we've learned, we're going
-
to practice it. In the next one hour, we have
-
to pray. We have to practice it. The grace of
-
God is here to heal, to empower, to bless. But
-
you must know how to receive. You come with honor.
-
You come with faith. We read that text, Mark
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5. Just let me give you the story we
-
have heard. We read part of it about the woman
-
with an issue of blood. You know, son, you must
-
come with faith. Faith. The power of God moves
-
in the direction of faith. The power of God,
-
it moves in the direction of faith. While the
-
crowd were oppressing him, the power flowed to
-
the person who believed. And Jesus knew. He knew
-
something left him by the word of knowledge.
-
The power of God flows. Your case doesn't need
-
to be mentioned before you can receive your healing.
-
Did you understand what I'm saying? When Jesus
-
was going, he was not attending to her. Jesus
-
was going to the house of Darius, the leader
-
of the synagogue. Because they don't say, Master,
-
please come and help me. You think you know what
-
I'm trying to say? But she intercepted it in
-
the sun. If only I can touch the hem of his garment,
-
his clothes. You don't need to wait in the sun.
-
You don't need to wait for one special occasion.
-
You have a need or something, You know the pastor
-
says, go and meet him. Say, sir, I come. This
-
is what I want. Don't wait and say, I will see
-
him after service on Sunday. What is the meaning
-
of that? Just message him, pastor, I want to
-
see you. Or message your leader, I want to see
-
you. Or come and tell your roommates. Say, please,
-
bro, I want to see you. This is an issue. And
-
Joseph kneeled down. Please lay hands on me.
-
This matter has to go. Yes, sir. You don't have
-
to wait. They say, ah, I heard they have Takunda.
-
When is their prayer meeting? Oh, they say, is
-
it Monday or what? Eh, I'm thinking whether I
-
should go to their prayer meeting or not. You
-
wait till Monday? Why? Yes, sir. Why? Oh, you
-
saw him going to the prayer meeting. Like Peter
-
and John. They were going to the hour of prayer.
-
You know, son, do you need plenty of time for
-
us to be late? No. So there are some of us you
-
have to show. It's when you're in the closet
-
that that's when you show honor and respect.
-
You know, I love it. Who was that? I think, yes,
-
I was commenting. I was saying some things I
-
was commenting. I saw, what was that? David Doe.
-
Even in America, in the front of the, in the
-
airport, he would go down and prostrate. I mean,
-
do you understand what I'm trying to say? That
-
culture has not left him, the culture of honor.
-
Did you understand what I'm trying to say? I
-
was commanding that. But some of us, just you
-
have degree, suddenly everybody has become...
-
I mean, did you get that? Even when a person
-
from your village just speak one Yoruba, you
-
don't want to think, how can you speak my language
-
here now? Something is wrong with you. Your village
-
is following you. No. Oh, no. Oh, no. You don't
-
need to wait. It doesn't matter how long your
-
problem has lingered. That woman has been suffering
-
for 12 years. She heard about what Jesus was
-
doing. Faith in Christ solved the whole problem.
-
There was healing. That's what we are going to
-
be praying in the son. Jesus touched the woman.
-
He said, daughter. He was 34. He said, daughter.
-
He said, your faith has made you whole. Mark
-
5, 34. Your faith has made you well. He said,
-
go in peace and be healed of your affliction.
-
It started with what she heard. She wasn't the
-
only one that she heard it though. Of course,
-
those crowds were following because they knew
-
Jesus has entered town. A lot of people heard.
-
Only few acted in faith. She only acted on what
-
she had. She touched. And there was a touch.
-
And things happened. So as we, it's a posture
-
of receiving. You understand? It's a posture
-
of receiving. Let me tell you, each time you
-
want to receive, you see, most of us who know
-
in the distance, When you want to pour down water,
-
water normally go down what? In, we call it potential
-
difference. Anyway, in the physics kind of a
-
thing. You understand what I'm saying? But the
-
point is that it has to move from somewhere that
-
is higher going down lower. And each time you
-
want to receive from someone and you look at
-
him as your age mate, you won't get anything.
-
Did you understand what I'm saying? Because knowledge,
-
the reason why you are listening to me is that
-
there is an honor you have, you understand, that
-
I'm your leader. So for that reason, your heart
-
is already open. As I taught, light is coming.
-
But let's imagine you see me as your housemate,
-
you understand, as I call me. Maybe when we are
-
listening, maybe I even slap our snoring. You
-
understand? See this brother? You understand?
-
You won't get anything. Do you understand what
-
I'm saying? You won't get anything. So whether
-
it's a pastor here, whether it's a leader here,
-
anybody that comes to lead anything, you must
-
see the person correctly. You must see the what?
-
The person correctly. That is how to receive.
-
If you miss this part, all that we have been
-
discussing since yesterday, there's a problem.
-
The psalm says there's a problem. And you don't
-
need just once. In the psalm, when it comes to
-
the things of spirit, covert, no covetousness.
-
Oh, you didn't get me. You didn't want the psalm
-
to say? He said covert. You convert earnestly.
-
There is not enough when it comes to the things
-
of the Spirit. There's not enough. If Pastor
-
Fred has laid hands on me four times, five times,
-
I need it more. When I go to me, Pastor Cesar,
-
I'll say, do it again. Do it again. It's for
-
establishing you. Now, this consciousness must
-
come on you that these things have effect and
-
you will see the effect in your life. Notice
-
only that we are reading that men's ministry
-
are shifting. That men are becoming fruitful
-
when hands are laid upon them. We just read in
-
Deuteronomy 34 that the wisdom has come upon
-
Joshua because Moses laid his hands upon him.
-
Be expectant that something And I have said it,
-
desire it. What exactly are you looking for?
-
What do you want changed? Do you want your prayer
-
life to be improved? You are expecting, let me
-
tell you, they will shift you off. I'm telling
-
you, into that realm you desire. That impartation
-
can happen. Whatever you see in another person's
-
life that you want, go and meet the person. I
-
told you how we followed our mommies here. And
-
I'm still following. If I see a grace, I follow
-
it. I don't wait. I don't say that the Lord will
-
do it. Who will do it? He has given men. I told
-
you, men are systems and methods of God. Did
-
you understand me? If you truly say the Lord
-
will do it, then look for those men. God has
-
put those things. That is his own way of doing
-
it. He decided it that way. So I don't want you
-
to be seeing your brothers and sisters here ordinarily.
-
We're ordinary. If you are elderly, things of
-
the spirit does not answer to the physical, material,
-
this, you know. Don't say, I'm older than you.
-
What does that mean? You're speaking like that,
-
brother. No. No. No. There must be a change.
-
And that is the last chart I'm giving you. There
-
must be a change in your heart. You will see
-
differently. God has given you a seeing eye.
-
You can't be seeing like somebody who's natural.
-
You know, son, for the things of the spirit are
-
only foolishness to the carnal mind. You are
-
not carnal because you have the spirit of God.
-
He said, you are not in the flesh. You understand?
-
Because the Spirit of God dwells in you. So you
-
must see correctly in the Spirit. This boy, these
-
small boys. Don't be saying like that. You're
-
going to be closing many things. See that brother
-
close to you. See that sister close to you. That's
-
why you must treat them with honor. With honor.
-
We don't know. Paul told Timothy to the older
-
men, even to us as pastors, the way I treat mummies
-
is, they will say, ah, sir, how are you doing?
-
Ah, do you know sometimes they will honor them.
-
He said to the elders, those who are elderly,
-
he said, treat them as fathers. He said to those,
-
the older women, he said, treat them as mothers.
-
He said to the sisters, he said, treat them,
-
I mean to the ladies. Younger women, treat them
-
as sisters. He now added something with all purity.
-
With all purity. That's why we frowned it at
-
people that sent our sister any kind of message.
-
You are careless. You don't honor them. Honor
-
means to treat them with purity. We will not
-
take it lightly. You are careless. Oh, everybody,
-
you know what you are doing. We know you. We
-
know what you are doing. Don't think we don't
-
know. We know. We know all those systems. We're
-
in the world, but not of the world. Yes. That's
-
not honor. He said, treat them as sisters with
-
all purity. With all purity. With all purity.
-
That is honor. You see them as sisters. You're
-
not planning to cheat them. No, you're not. So
-
it's a season of impartation. And that's how
-
Mary sees. It's by seeing them as they are in
-
Christ. Once you turn to the natural, you understand,
-
many things will evade you. Many things will
-
evade you. If they lie, they should take the
-
light. I am telling you, you will hear it. And
-
we will lay hands on you. You will be blessed
-
and you will do wonders. Yes, you will do wonders.
-
Your mercy will expand. There will be fruit,
-
fruit that lasts. Your label will not just be
-
crushed. You label, label, label upon somebody's
-
life. Then you hear that he has gone back to
-
his own. No. You will see them and you will rejoice.
-
Because it will last. It will last. And that's
-
what the Lord puts this ministry in the church
-
for. To establish man. To establish man in his
-
own agenda. I am aware. Don't worry. I'm aware
-
that this ministry has been bastardized. It has
-
been abused. Did you see that I didn't mention
-
anything about abuse throughout the teaching?
-
It's deliberate. That's why I say it's a doctrine
-
of the laying of hands. We don't do doctrine
-
from error. You understand? Because each time
-
you are trying to... Teach based according to
-
the error that is happening. You are likely to
-
go to another extreme. Just stay and teach the
-
word. The farm that has been abused, some people
-
come. You understand? You say, I want, I have
-
a, what do you call it? I need money to go this
-
way, go this way. The pastor will lay hands on
-
you. All through the laying hands we see. He
-
didn't say anybody come. Even the one that tried
-
to say, give me this power. He said, your money
-
perish with you. You think the gift of God can
-
be what? Can be purchased with money. Did you
-
understand what I'm saying? No. We know it has
-
been abused. But even the devil quoted the Bible
-
wrongly. Did you understand what I'm saying?
-
So, Bible has been abused. I've been abused by
-
the Pharisee. That's why they say that the hay,
-
that is different. And the focus is the Word
-
of God. So take the ministry of the lane of hands
-
serious. It's an important part of the church
-
that empowers men. That's God's system. Take
-
it serious. Are we together? Are we together?
-
So can you just rise? We appreciate you being
