  1. Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. 1 Corinthians 12. Verse 10. To another

  6. the working of miracles. And to another what?

  7. Prophecy. Hallelujah. Praise God. So today, what

  8. we're talking about today to complete the part

  9. on the gifts of the prophecy is the gift of prophecy

  10. in the believer today. The gift of prophecy in

  11. the believer when? Today. Please, if you don't

  12. have a writing material, you can use your phone.

  13. There's a notes part on your phone. You can just

  14. take the notes there because these words will

  15. benefit you. Amen. So the church. It's not a

  16. place where you come and then do it like concert.

  17. The church is a training school for the believer.

  18. Praise God. The believer is taught the word.

  19. The believer is trained in the word of righteousness

  20. and in the word of faith. Amen. The believer

  21. grows and he is not only equipped, but that he

  22. measures up to the fullness of who? Of Christ.

  23. Hallelujah. Praise God. So when you come to the

  24. believer's training school like this, on a Saturday,

  25. on a Sunday, on a Wednesday, on a Friday. Come

  26. for lecture time to be taught and to be equipped.

  27. Praise God. So, we read 1 Corinthians 12 verse

    1 Corinthians 12:10

  28. 10. Let me read it again. To another, the walking

  29. of miracles. To another, prophecy. To another,

  30. discerning of spirits. To another, diverse kinds

  31. of tongues. To another, the interpretation of

  32. what? Of tongues. Hallelujah. So one of the things

  33. that we're able to establish that the word prophecy

  34. was translated from the Greek word prophetia,

  35. right? Yes, prophetia, which is from the root

  36. word prophetio. Praise God. And the word prophetia

  37. or prophetio, right? The root word is to prophesy

  38. and prophesy means to speak forth. Hallelujah.

  39. Amen. If you have seen the documentary of Volcano,

  40. right? If you have seen the documentary of Volcano,

  41. suddenly there will be a crack on the ground,

  42. right? And then there is this molten magma that

  43. will do what? That will suddenly what? Erop!

  44. Hallelujah. That's the strength of that word

  45. prophetio, right? To bubble up with words. Hallelujah.

  46. To speak forth. With words. On the spur of the

  47. moment. And we say that to speak forth under

  48. the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Praise God.

  49. So the source of our speaking is from who? From

  50. the Holy Ghost. So when I bubble with words,

  51. when I speak forth with words, instantly that

  52. inspiration, that utterance is coming from where?

  53. From the Holy Ghost. So the believer is a man,

  54. when it comes to the gifts of the prophecy, the

  55. believer is a man under the inspiration of the

  56. Holy Ghost, right? That will always speak. Speak

  57. what? The will of God. The mind of God. The plans

  58. of God. The purposes of God. So the believer...

  59. He's a man under the inspiration of the Holy

  60. Ghost. Why the inspiration of the Holy Ghost?

  61. Because that is the Spirit he has received. Amen?

  62. Yes, so the believer has received what? The Holy

  63. Ghost. So the source of his inspiration should

  64. not be from another spirit, but from where? But

  65. from the Holy Ghost. So however, that is why

  66. the believer ought to be careful to be taught

  67. and trained. If the believer is not taught and

  68. trained in the word of faith, the believer can

  69. hear words from demons and still say them. Do

  70. you hear what I said? I didn't say the demons

  71. are inside him. Amen? I said he can what? He

  72. can hear words from where? From demons. One.

  73. He can also hear words from non -believers. And

  74. he will do what? He will speak them. So if the

  75. believer is not taught and trained, the reality

  76. and the source of inspiration can change. So

  77. what is going to happen is that he will despise

  78. the source of his inspiration, the Holy Ghost,

  79. and he will look for another source of what?

  80. Inspiration. So in the gifts of prophecy, the

  81. believer must be careful to stay on the source,

  82. to stay with the source, who is the Holy Ghost.

  83. Hallelujah. That is prophecy. Amen. Speaking

  84. forth, bubbling forth with words. However, on

  85. the spur of the moment. Do you know what I said?

  86. On the what? On the spur of the moment. The words

  87. you are speaking, they are not plain words. Amen.

  88. That is why one of the things that will deprive

  89. you from receiving from one another is familiarity.

  90. Is he not pastorifying? I know him and I know

  91. he knows all my troubles and fears and concerns.

  92. So I know if he's going to speak now, he is going

  93. to speak from the abundance of his heart because

  94. he knows me. Pastor Victor says something. He

  95. says something that every time we meet, we are

  96. meeting to do what? In fact, let me add one word

  97. to bring value to the other person. Acts chapter

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  98. 1. Let me say something here. Acts chapter 1.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  99. See what the scripture says about Christ. Acts

    Acts 1:3

  100. chapter 1 verse 3. had given commandment unto

  101. the apostles, whom he hath, what? Chosen three

  102. now, to whom also, Acts chapter 1, from verse

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  103. 1 to 3, to whom also he showed himself, how?

  104. Alive, after his, what? His passion, his death,

  105. burial, and what? And resurrection, by how many

  106. proofs? By many infallible, what? Proofs being

  107. seen of them 40 days and speaking of the things

  108. pertaining to what? To the kingdom of God. When

  109. you now go back to Luke 24, you will see some

  110. of the things that he had to show them for them

  111. to know that Christ... Luke 24. Now see the infallible

  112. proofs now. Some of the infallible proofs now.

  113. One of the proofs which we know in this church

  114. is that he taught them. Hallelujah. And his teachings

  115. that he taught them, he opened their understanding.

  116. All the things that the prophet has spoken concerning

  117. what? Concerning him. He brought those things

  118. open, bare unto them. Amen? That is the major

  119. proof. Any other proof we are going to talk about

  120. here are minor. For example now, right? Luke

  121. 24. Luke 24. Verse 36. And as he and... As their

  122. thoughts spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst

  123. of them and said unto them, Peace be unto you.

  124. But they were terrified and affrighted. And suppose

  125. that they had seen a what? And he said unto them,

  126. Why ye trouble? And why do thoughts arise in

  127. your heart? Behold my what? My hands and my feet,

  128. that it is I what? Myself. Handle me and see.

  129. For a spirit hath not what? flesh and bones,

  130. as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken,

  131. he showed them his hands and his feet. And while

  132. they had not believed, not for the joy wondered,

  133. and he said unto them, Have ye here any what?

  134. Any meat. And they gave him a piece of broiled

  135. fish, and of a what? And a honeycomb, and a what?

  136. And he took it, and did eat what? Before them.

  137. By now they now believe that he is not a spirit.

  138. After they now believe there is not a spirit,

  139. since spirits don't eat this kind of food. Spirit

  140. cannot eat fish and broiled fish and honey. Right?

  141. Then 44 now. He now said, and he said unto them,

  142. These are what? These are the words. Hallelujah.

  143. Do you know that Jesus is still alive today with

  144. infallible proofs? Ha! No, no, no, no, no, no.

  145. Do you know that Jesus is still alive today with

  146. infallible proofs? But the proofs are not eating

  147. food now. They are not honeycomb. Amen? We read

  148. somewhere in Acts chapter 4, verse 29. It said,

    Acts 4:29

  149. Lord, behold their what? Threatenings. Grant

  150. unto thy servants that with all boldness that

  151. we may what? That we may speak. You can put it

  152. up. Acts chapter 4. Right? That we may speak.

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  153. Stretch forth your hands. Hallelujah. Do what?

  154. Stretch forth your hands and heal in the name

  155. of thy holy son who? Jesus Christ. How is God

  156. stretching forth his hands? Through us. How is

  157. the infallible proof that Jesus is alive happening

  158. today? How is this happening today? Through whom?

  159. Through us, believers. So the gifts of prophecy

  160. in the believer is one infallible proof that

  161. Jesus is alive. Do you hear what I said? The

  162. gifts of prophecy in the believer is also what?

  163. One infallible what? Proof. Because when it comes,

  164. it reveals the mind of God. It reveals the purposes

  165. of God. It reveals the will of God for the believer

  166. now. Praise God. So one of the things that we

  167. see also that the scripture has told us, which

  168. we've learned here, that the prophets spoke as

  169. they were inspired by who? By the Spirit of God.

  170. Amen? So that which way that the prophet did,

  171. same root word. In prophecy, same root word.

  172. There is foretelling and there is foretelling.

  173. Prophecy has two meanings. There is foretelling,

  174. F -O -R -E, foretelling, and there is what? Foretelling,

  175. F -O -R -T -H, telling. Foretelling, F -O -R

  176. -E, and there is foretelling, F -O -R -T -H.

  177. Foretelling is what we saw or what we see in

  178. the scriptures that Moses, right? And the other

  179. prophets spoke about God's plans that will be

  180. fulfilled in Jesus Christ. So foretelling was

  181. revealing. The prophets were revealing the things.

  182. It's a futuristic, the things God is going to

  183. do. God's commitment for humanity, but happening

  184. in the future. In who? In Christ Jesus. But foretelling

  185. is not in the future. It's when? It's now. So

  186. the gift of prophecy is what? Foretelling. Now

  187. reality. So the believer is not going to prophesy

  188. that another Jesus will be given birth again.

  189. Do you understand? So the believer is not going

  190. to say there will be another woman, a virgin,

  191. she will be from Casablanca. You know, some people

  192. have, before I say Casablanca, some people have

  193. mentioned Casablanca. You know, a virgin from

  194. Casablanca, right? In the village of Timbuktu.

  195. You know, and then she will, there will be a

  196. child, he will be in a manger and they will go,

  197. hmm, hmm, speak papa. The gifts of prophecy for

  198. the believer went today, now. All of God's promises,

  199. his plans, his commitments for humanity. has

  200. been fulfilled in Christ Jesus. You need this

  201. now because of the things I want to say. All

  202. of God's promises, his plans, his commitment

  203. for humanity has been fulfilled in who? In Christ

  204. Jesus. So, Sama, what will gifts of prophecy

  205. do to us? If they have been fulfilled in Christ

  206. Jesus, gifts of prophecy, when the believer speaks

  207. it, will reveal those plans for the now. Praise

  208. God. Hallelujah. Oh, it will bring direction

  209. now. It will bring clarity when? Now. It will

  210. bring comfort when? Now. It will bring instruction

  211. when? Now. But all of these things that are coming

  212. are happening in who? In Christ Jesus. It's important

  213. that it must happen in Christ Jesus. It's important

  214. that it must happen in who? In Christ Jesus.

  215. Praise God. Hallelujah. Purpose of the gift of

  216. prophecy. Purpose or purpose. Purpose. Okay.

  217. Let me say the way we say in my village. Purpose.

  218. Praise God. You know, I have an English teacher,

  219. Mr. Jabez, but he let her change his name to...

  220. No. He changed his name to God... Is it God Will?

  221. Or God knows. Or God something. He changed his

  222. name to God something. Because his name Jabez

  223. continued to produce suffering. Seriously, oh.

  224. He was the senior staff in my secondary school.

  225. But he was the miserable staff in my school.

  226. My principal called him Jabez. He is the one

  227. that will run. Coppers, they will call them.

  228. They will not run. Go to my office and get Cain.

  229. This man will run from the assembly ground to

  230. the principal office. Get something. I don't

  231. know what's the spiritual thing behind it. But

  232. immediately he changed his name. He married.

  233. I'm serious. When he changed his name, I don't

  234. know anything spiritual about Jagat. I don't

  235. know. I'm just saying what we saw. When he changed

  236. his name, he married. When he changed his name,

  237. he built his own house. When he changed his name,

  238. his life changed. Sincerely, I cannot tell you

  239. anything about it. For whatever reason, I don't

  240. know. So, but you know, this man, he was our

  241. English teacher. So he was teaching us English

  242. phonetics. He say, he's not, once you say, popos,

  243. you said, Takunda, give Kolade a knock. He said,

  244. it's not purpose, it's purpose. I said, hey.

  245. Praise God. The purpose. My wife said, please,

  246. I hope you know you will become global. All this

  247. is your Newman English. The purpose. You know,

  248. I saw Pastor Victor's video. It was just his

  249. English. I said, ah, my brother. Hallelujah.

  250. That was a joke. Amen. The gifts of prophecy

  251. has a purpose. Hallelujah. Praise God. So let's

  252. look at the purpose of the gifts of prophecy.

  253. Please, as we are discussing this, pay attention

  254. because now you will begin to know why the gifts

  255. of prophecy are important and why the believer,

  256. when he is given a gift of prophecy, what we

  257. should begin to see as the content of what he

  258. is saying. When we say a purpose of a thing,

  259. what do we mean? The function of a thing, yes.

  260. The reason for a thing, yes. The why of a thing,

  261. yes. Another word? The importance of a thing,

  262. right? Good. So which means that Acts chapter

    Acts 1:8

  263. 1 verse 8. Acts chapter 1 verse 8. Acts chapter

    Acts 1:8 Acts 1:8

  264. 1 verse 8. See what the scripture says. But ye

  265. shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost

  266. is what? Is come upon you and ye shall be what?

  267. Witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all

  268. what? Judea and in what? Samaria and unto the

  269. uttermost part of what? Part of the earth. Right?

  270. And that word witness is the word matiah. Right?

  271. When you check the word witness, it's the word

  272. what? Mattiah. And Mattiah is not somebody that

  273. they say he laid, put his head and they cut him.

  274. Right? When you check the meaning of Mattiah,

  275. it's not a person that put his head and then

  276. they do what? They slaughter and say, ah, this

  277. man, he died for Jesus. That word Mattiah, when

  278. you check it, it's a legal word. Amen? It's a

  279. legal what? When we say you are a witness, it

  280. means that you have seen something, you have

  281. touched something, right? And you are the only

  282. person that has been legalized to have a proof.

  283. If you say that thing, everybody will believe

  284. it. You are the only person that can stand for

  285. a case and the judge can give a verdict on that

  286. thing. Why? Because you have seen something,

  287. you have touched something or you have an information

  288. and that information is a high priority information.

  289. And anytime and anywhere you say that thing,

  290. nobody can say you are what? You are lying. So,

  291. when they bring them to court, they will enter

  292. a box and they will make them to do what? To

  293. swear. When they swear, they are bound under

  294. a legal authority. That everything I will say

  295. here is true to this case. The presence of the

  296. Holy Ghost in the believer has legalized the

  297. believer to have a proof that Jesus is alive.

  298. So we are not mere men roaming about the surface

  299. of the earth. without a legal authority bounding

  300. over us. He said, ye shall receive what? Power.

  301. After that, the Holy Ghost is what? It's come

  302. upon you. Let me repeat what I said. So which

  303. means the believer, the believer is a man that

  304. is legalized by the Spirit of God to prove that

  305. Jesus is what? He's alive. So connect this thing

  306. that I just said now to the purpose of the gift

  307. of what? Prophecy. So which means that the believer

  308. is not just prophesying. The believer is giving

  309. proofs. Hallelujah. Praise God. And that proof

  310. is to better the local church. That proof is

  311. to better the what? The local church. 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 14:3

  312. 14 verse 3 now. 1 Corinthians 14 verse 3. After

    1 Corinthians 14:3

  313. this particular topic, every one of us would

  314. desire it more. Hallelujah. 1 Corinthians 14

    1 Corinthians 14:3

  315. verse 3. But he that prophesied, speaketh, will

  316. read. Okay, let's retrain. But he that prophesied

  317. speaks what? Speaks, speaketh unto men. To who?

  318. He that prophesied speaketh unto who? He that

  319. prophesied speaketh unto who? So your prophecy

  320. is for who? Your prophecy is for who? And when

  321. you prophesy, what happens? See what happens

  322. now. For their edification and exhortation and

  323. what? And comfort, straight. Now let's start

  324. this class very fast now. What is the purpose

  325. of prophecy? Edification and exhortation and

  326. comfort. Hallelujah. So when somebody walks up

  327. to you and gives you a word of prophecy and then

  328. tells you it's by the Spirit of God, what you

  329. should be setting out in those speakings are

  330. what? Edification. Hallelujah. Which is what?

  331. Which is exaltation and what? And comfort. Hallelujah.

  332. So now, you will see why Paul will say prophecy

  333. throughout 1 Corinthians 14 is about edification.

  334. Edification. Edification. That word to edify,

  335. which we know here, is oikodomio. Or oikodom.

  336. Why are we going back to the root words? We are

  337. going back to the Greek words. Right? So that

  338. we will know the context of why that word is

  339. used. Amen? That word oikodomeo is O -I -K -O

  340. -D -O -M -E -O. O -I -K -O -D -O -M -E -O. Oikodomeo.

  341. And it means to build. Ah, I just got something

  342. now. It means to what? To build. that every time

  343. I come to Pastor Imah and I'm speaking the words

  344. of the prophecy to him by the Spirit of God,

  345. kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, kick,

  346. I'm building, I'm building. Oh boy, with my mouth,

  347. say with my mouth, say with my mouth, by the

  348. Spirit of the Lord, with my mouth, I build lives.

  349. I don't tear down lives. I don't tear down places.

  350. I build lives. So every time you speak under

  351. the inspiration of the Spirit of God, you are

  352. building lives. You are building systems. You

  353. are building people. You see, your words are

  354. not ordinary. So don't just look at situations.

  355. I got this now from somebody. The next time you

  356. have an opportunity to speak, don't say negative

  357. things. Hallelujah. Don't say what? The more

  358. you say negative things, you tear down those

  359. people. The more you say negative things, you

  360. tear down that system. The more you say negative

  361. things, you tear down the entire environment.

  362. Don't say negative things. Remember that words

  363. from your mouth should edify, should build. They

  364. should build. They should build. They should

  365. build. They should what? They should build. Have

  366. you ever seen anybody takes time to build? You

  367. know, we have been reading Matthew 24, 1, 2,

  368. 3. And when Jesus told them, he said, each of

  369. these stones you see, all of them will be what?

  370. Will be thrown down. They say, you don't know

  371. what you're talking about. It took us 46 years

  372. to build this. And you tell us. In three days,

  373. let's pull it down. You must be kidding us here.

  374. Go to salamis. You have an idea of what they

  375. are saying. Those stones are not the bricks in

  376. your house that if you do, it will break. It

  377. will take something unusual made by man to bring

  378. those stones down. The scripture says, majestic

  379. buildings, impressive decorations. And Jesus

  380. said, all these things will do what? Will come

  381. down. Every time the believer speaks under the

  382. inspiration of the Holy Ghost, he is bringing

  383. the beauty in the life of others that is already

  384. in Christ Jesus. He's bringing them out. You

  385. see, what I just said now should inform you that

  386. you don't see anybody and begin to just say,

  387. your life will waste. Do you know that your life,

  388. the way you continue like this, with this your

  389. brain that is empty. How can somebody have head?

  390. You know there is brain inside. I say the brain

  391. is empty. When you see empty brains, put something

  392. inside. Do you know what I said? When you see

  393. empty brains, do what? When you see wayward lives,

  394. correct them. By the Spirit of God, I just heard

  395. this. Learn to bring order, not chaos. Learn

  396. to bring order, not chaos. With your words, bring

  397. order, not chaos. With your words, bring what?

  398. Order, not what? Not chaos. Write this now. In

  399. verse 3, in verse 4. In verse 5, in verse 12,

  400. in verse 17, in verse 26. We are going to see

  401. the words now. Verse 3, 1 Corinthians 14, verse

    1 Corinthians 14:3

  402. 3. Verse 4, verse 5, verse 12, verse 17, verse

  403. 26. Let me say it again. Verse 3, verse 4, verse

  404. 5, verse 12, verse 17, verse 26. All these places

  405. talks about the word edify, edifies, edification,

  406. edifying. And all of them are connected to prophecy.

  407. Edify, edifies, edifying, or what? Edification.

  408. Verse 3. But he that prophesies speaketh unto

  409. men to edification and exhortation and what?

  410. Verse 4. Verse 5. Verse 12. of the church verse

  411. 17 for thou verily verily give us thanks well

  412. but the order is not edified 26 how is it then

  413. brethren when you come together every one of

  414. you had a psalm had a doctrine had a tongue had

  415. a revelation had an interpretation let all things

  416. be done unto what edifying so take the original

  417. word building and put all in these places building,

  418. building, building, building. You see, what Paul

  419. is emphasizing is that every time you gather

  420. in fellowship, let there be what? Building. Let

  421. there be edification. Brother, edify the other.

  422. Sister, when I stood there, one of the words

  423. that I got, he said, husband and wife don't marry

  424. because they should just marry. No, no, no. God

  425. first will bring you to edify one another. My

  426. responsibility as a husband is to what? due to

  427. my wife. Her responsibility is to what? Due to

  428. me. You have not borne me even straight. You

  429. have not borne me this way. You have not borne

  430. me. You have not borne me this way. You have

  431. not borne me. Me, oh. Me in this house, I will

  432. not cook again. Me in this house. Me in this

  433. house. Me in this house. Is not receive. Is what?

  434. Give. Give. Give. Say, I have been created by

  435. God. I have his image. I have his image. And

  436. I know the lifestyle of giving. Every resources

  437. God has put inside you is to be released. Hallelujah.

  438. To build others. And we've learned here, I'm

  439. going to, in the next two, three minutes, we're

  440. going to stop here for today. And we've learned

  441. here that the word, Comfort and exhortation.

  442. Edify is to build, right? And that word edification

  443. is a compound word for comfort and what? Exhortation.

  444. The word comfort is to provide help. Amen? The

  445. word comfort is to do what? To provide what?

  446. Help. Comfort is not pity. Do you hear what I

  447. said? Comfort is not what? Is not pity. The word

  448. comfort is to provide what? To provide what?

  449. Help. Hallelujah. And then the word exhortation.

  450. The word exhortation, it means to stand by someone.

  451. Praise God. To do what? To stand by someone.

  452. So which means that when prophecy is given, it

  453. brings direction, guidance, help, and encouragement.

  454. When prophecy is given, right? When gifts of

  455. prophecy is in operation, it brings direction,

  456. it brings guidance, it brings help, it brings

  457. encouragement. Let me say it again. When prophecy

  458. is given, it brings direction, it brings guidance,

  459. it brings help, and it brings encouragement.

  460. Purpose of what? Of the gifts of what? Prophecy.

  461. Hallelujah. Let's read this and then we stop.

  462. 1 Corinthians 14 verse 6 now. Now, brethren,

    1 Corinthians 14:6

  463. if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what

  464. shall I what? Profite you. What he's saying is

  465. that how can I build you? Hallelujah. How can

  466. I benefit you? Except I shall speak to you either

  467. by what? Revelation or by knowledge or by prophesying

  468. or by doctrine. Hallelujah. Because all these

  469. words find expression through intelligible words

  470. that the mind can understand. Hallelujah. Amen?

  471. So when we come, by God's grace, on Wednesday,

  472. we're going to exhaust this purpose of the gifts

  473. of prophecy and then we're going to do how to

  474. judge what? Prophecy. Then we'll practicalize

  475. it. How to judge what? Prophecy. Then we'll do

  476. what? We'll practicalize it. Maybe, not in this

  477. church however, because we'll be taught. Amen?

  478. He said, my children, my children, don't be afraid.

  479. For I also am also afraid. But know that I am

  480. with you. If you are close to the person there,

  481. just hold the hands of the person and just keep

  482. him in the sight first and say, don't be praying,

  483. just be watching us. Because we have to start

  484. checking which source. Like that young man that

  485. they say, do you have a word? He came up here.

  486. I can't see him again in our church. He said

  487. to all the fine ladies, God says he's with you.

  488. Praise God. Say I have the gifts of prophecy.

  489. Say, I have the gifts of prophecy. Say, I have

  490. the gifts of prophecy. One of the words I got

  491. in the course of preparation, which we will talk

  492. about it on Wednesday, is how every one of us,

  493. we have to be mindful of our words. Hallelujah.

  494. We have to be what? We're going to read a couple

  495. of scriptures on Wednesday, and I believe the

  496. Holy Spirit will bring so much revelation at

  497. work in our hearts, and you will go about saying

  498. the right things by the Spirit of God. Can you

  499. just bless God, everybody? Can I just bless Scott?

  500. Say, Father, thank you for I have the ability

  501. to build. I have the ability to build. I have

  502. the ability to build. I have the ability to build.

  503. We appreciate you being here today. We hope you

  504. carry this word with you throughout your week.
