Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. Thank you, Jesus. Amen. So we will
-
be looking at today the giving of the law. The
-
giving of the law. I believe that we have listened
-
to the last teaching, part 20. I don't know whether
-
this one should go outside the teaching. However,
-
we'll just continue like that. Amen. So, the
-
giving of the law. Now, don't forget that, as
-
we have noted, why we are going this far is to
-
come to an understanding regarding women's dressing.
-
although it affects men as well but because of
-
the series we are on we are focusing on women's
-
dressing and this part is an inclusion in the
-
entire series we've been doing the issues about
-
women liberty and as we said The first scripture
-
that many people run to each time they discuss
-
dressing is Deuteronomy 22, 5. The woman shall
-
not wear that which pertains to a man. That's
-
if you're using King James. Neither shall a man
-
put on woman's garment. For all that do so are
-
abomination unto the Lord. Now, and we answered
-
already two questions. That is, who wrote that?
-
We say Moses. And to who was he addressing that
-
text? And we said the Deuteronomy generation.
-
Because the Exodus generation had perished, and
-
this is they are about to enter the promised
-
land. And Moses wrote this to them. Amen. And
-
we noted carefully, which is very important and
-
is going to help us later on, that this generation
-
as well are unbelievers. Is that okay? Is that
-
what we said? Yes, they are rebellious generation.
-
Now, and last thing we did was to look at the
-
explanation of Jesus and Apostle Paul. And we
-
saw something very unique. They never called
-
the Ten Commandments the Ten Commandments. Is
-
that correct? Yes. So what they explain as what
-
we call the Ten Commandments is the love of God.
-
That is love of God. Amen? What you will do in
-
us and through us. Are we together? Amen. Yes.
-
So, and... We saw that the Ten Commandments,
-
they are a revelation of what God would do in
-
man and through man, in Christ. So in other words,
-
the Ten Commandments is the gospel. The Ten Commandments
-
is the gospel. Now, there are questions that
-
I want to begin to address in this teaching.
-
In trying to answer the thought questions, why
-
did Moses write that instruction in Deuteronomy
-
22 .5? Now, in trying to answer that that's why
-
we're going this far, why did he have, since
-
Jesus and the apostles explained it to us now,
-
and we now understand that, ah, It's not supposed
-
to be in that 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, what we call
-
the 10 today. No. Why then were the gospel, now,
-
why were the gospel written in that form, in
-
the form of regulations and rules? Why? Why?
-
Note, last time we also discussed and we noted
-
that God's plan is not to write his law on the
-
tablets of stones. That God's intention was to
-
write it in our heart. Is that correct? Yes.
-
So, since the 10th commandment is the gospel,
-
And we said that Moses' teaching material was
-
from what he was passed. How then did we have
-
courses in the law of Moses? Where did they come
-
from? Because we understood that it was from
-
what he was given that he started to use to teach
-
the people. Why did we have courses, sicknesses?
-
Remember, because we know that as Jesus and Paul
-
explain it, that the Ten Commandments is a gospel.
-
And of course, even though they were written
-
that way, at least we know that there is no curse,
-
there is no sicknesses, there is no diseases,
-
there is no disease. Where then did they smuggle
-
the issue of diseases, sicknesses, death, affliction?
-
You understand? In the law of Moses, where none
-
existed in the Ten Commandments. Now, answering
-
these questions, we will have to understand how
-
was the law given. That's why we are considering
-
this the giving of the law. Are we together?
-
There are certain details that I want us to note
-
carefully as we continue. And why are we careful?
-
It's because these details are not just captured,
-
especially in the Old Testament. The portion
-
of the Bible we call the Old Testament. And that's
-
why our sister helped us to read. Acts chapter
Acts 7 chapter mention
-
7. Let's start from there. Are we together? Acts
Acts 7 chapter mention
-
chapter 7. And I want to just leave out what
-
she read from the earlier verses. I'll just move
-
to verse 37. So come with me to verse 37. This
-
is that Moses who said to the children of Israel.
-
The Lord your God would raise up for you a prophet
-
like me. From your brethren, him you shall hear.
-
I remember we treated this. This is the gospel.
-
And when you read, Apostle Peter explained this
-
text in Acts chapter 3. And he told us that.
Acts 3 chapter mention
-
This raising is not like raising a child. It's
-
resurrection. Are we together? Yes. Are we together?
-
Amen. And the essence is that he will bring,
-
he will bless his people by returning them away
-
from their sins. Why is he called a prophet like
-
unto me? Moses led the children of Israel from
-
Capa. into freedom. That is a foreshadow of what
-
the Christ was to do. That is to take his people
-
from bondage into captivity. That was why Moses
-
coded it and said a prophet like what? Unto me.
-
And that's why he said hear him. Him shall you
-
hear. And verse 38. He said, this is he who was
-
in the congregation in the wilderness with the
-
angel who spoke to him on where? Where? Mount
-
Sinai. And with our fathers. The one who received
-
the living oracles to give to us. Whom our fathers
-
will not do what? Will not obey. Remember? Moses
-
told them, him shall you hear. But they refused
-
to what? They refused to hear. Look at it. What
-
did he say? He said, one of who received the
-
living oracles. The living oracles. I want you
-
to look at that word. The living oracles. It's
-
supposed to be lively oracles, actually. Living.
-
Not really. Because that word is zao. Are we
-
together? Zao, the Greek word. And we noted last
-
time that word living. Lively. Supposed to be
-
lively oracles. It's from the word we obtain
-
zoe. Right? Yes. So, zao. Z -A -O in Greek. It
-
means the life -giving words. It means the life.
-
Do what? Life -giving word. That's why they are
-
called the... The lively oracles. And they mean
-
the revelation or the message delivered by God
-
to Moses. Now, I want you to note, what did God
-
deliver to Moses? The lively oracles. That is
-
the life -giving word. Please note that one.
-
Very important. That was what God gave to Moses.
-
But how come? Come to me. Just fold your hands
-
in acts and come with me. I'm trying not to rush
-
because I'm praying God will help me. Romans
Romans 7 chapter mention
-
chapter 7. We read that text before. I want you
-
to see something here. Don't forget. What did
-
God pass to Moses? Lively oracles. Look at verse
-
7. Romans 7 verse 7. He said, what shall we say
-
then? Is the law sin? Certainly not. On the contrary,
-
I will not have known sin except through the
-
law. Did you see the problem before we even continue?
-
He already said, is the law sin? He said, certainly
-
not. But the same that is not sin, he said, I
-
would not have known sin except through the law.
-
He said, for would not have known covetousness
-
unless the law had said, you shall not covet.
-
But sin, taking advantage or taking opportunity
-
by the commandment, produced in me all manner
-
of evil desires. For apart from the law, sin
-
was dead. I was alive. Apart from the law, sin
-
was dead. I was alive once without the law. But
-
when the commandment came, sin revived and I
-
died. Remember we... we explain that text. And
-
we say what the explanation is that Paul is saying,
-
when I was living without the law, you understand?
-
I didn't know the consciousness of sin. But then
-
when the law came, it brought the consciousness
-
of sin at my state. Are we together? Yes. So,
-
verse 10. And the commandment which was to bring
-
life. Please, I want you to note verse 10 again.
-
The commandment doesn't look like what Stephen
-
told us. The lively oracles, right? So, the commandment.
-
Which was to bring life? Or which is life? Or
-
which life? Do you understand what I'm saying?
-
Yes. If you remove those things, the translators
-
added. He said, I found to bring death. Or I
-
found death. How could something that was given,
-
meant to give life? Produced it. Are we together?
-
The reason is because what was supposed to give
-
life was turned to legalism. Are you here with
-
me? So, because it was spoken as the gospel.
-
But you are given to men that reject it. And
-
so they transform it into regulations. And so
-
what was supposed to be life now produced death.
-
It produced death. Come with me. That's the same
-
thing Paul also said. So it's not here that Paul
-
only said. You understand? Go to 2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 3 chapter mention
-
chapter 3. So Paul repeated this teaching, this
-
explanation. You understand what I'm saying?
-
He repeated this explanation in 2 Corinthians
-
3. Let me read from verse 4. And we have such
-
trust through Christ toward God. Not that we
-
are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything
-
as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency
-
is from God. Who made us sufficient as ministers
-
of the new covenant? Now look at it. What is
-
the new covenant? The new covenant is not of
-
letters. but of the Spirit, for they let us kill
-
it. But the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry
-
of the dead written and engraved on stones was
-
glorious so that the children of Israel could
-
not look steadily at the face of Moses because
-
of the glory of his countenance, which was...
-
which glory was passing away, how will the ministry
-
of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the
-
ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry
-
of righteousness exceeds more of glory. For even
-
what was made glorious had no glory in this respect
-
because of the glory that excelled. For if what
-
is passing away was glorious, what remains is
-
much more glorious. Because there was a system
-
that came in between that is to change what was
-
to give light into letters. to transform what
-
was to give life into regulations and rules.
-
That's a hardened man. That's a hardened heart.
-
That refused, that rejected the word which was
-
to give life, but transformed them into rules
-
and regulations, into legalism. That was why
-
what was supposed to give life now produce what?
-
Produce death. So Jesus and the apostles, when
-
they had to explain what was transformed into
-
regulations, they now return it back from how
-
it was intended. Are we together? That the message
-
was that God will do it by himself. Did you hear
-
what I said? Jesus and the apostles. Now, take
-
what we call the Ten Commandments and then return
-
it to how it was originally intended. That's
-
the message. God is the one to do it all the
-
way. Are we together? Yes. All you need to do
-
is to receive. Now, not longer. One, two, three,
-
four, five. Don't do this, do that. Don't do
-
this, do that. Don't do this, do that. We're
-
going to read subsequently. You will see that
-
is how the law is when you read Colossians. Touch
-
not. Handle not. You understand? That is the
-
law. That's the way of the law. But the way of
-
righteousness, that's why he said the ministry
-
of righteousness. The way of righteousness is
-
you receiving God the doer. You understand? And
-
that's why we saw love. Love the Lord. You just
-
believe. He comes into you and he produces his
-
work through you. And that's why we call the
-
love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said, the
-
second is as the first. Because all is by the
-
Spirit. Say, all is by the Spirit. Hallelujah.
-
Now, but we need to answer a question. How did
-
we have it transform into legalism? You know,
-
that's where we are going. Yes. How did we, how
-
did we have, end up having it as legalism? Go
-
back to our scripture. Let's go back to our scripture
-
where we started. Acts chapter... Look at verse
-
51. You stiff necked and uncircumcised in the
-
heart and ears. You always resist the Holy Spirit
-
as your fathers did. So do you. Verse 52. Verse
-
53. Please look at this place. 53. Who have received
-
the law? How? By the direction of angels. And
-
have not kept it. Now I want you to note that
-
word. The direction of angels. That is. The law.
-
Was received. Was given. How? By the direction
-
of angels. This means. Angels were involved in
-
the giving of the law. Angels were involved in
-
the giving of the law. Look at verse 38. Go back
-
to verse 38. This is he who was in the congregation
-
in the wilderness. With who? Oh, talk to me now.
-
With who? Who do what? Spoke to him where? On
-
Mount Sinai. Now, we need to study Mount Sinai.
-
You know, last week, I deliberately used that.
-
You know, when we are... I mean, not last week.
-
Sorry. Not even the last... Earlier, when we
-
started in this direction, you know, I did a
-
comparison. It's deliberately a user. I said,
-
God was the one who gave the Ten Commandments
-
in the sun directly. And then Moses wrote the
-
book of the Lord, right? We did that comparison.
-
Are we together? Amen. But because I'm coming
-
to teach further, I didn't mention anything around
-
that. Now you know that God did not give the
-
Ten Commandments in the way we have it. Are we
-
together? Are we together? Because what he gave
-
to Moses was lively oracles. And we said, by
-
the explanation of Jesus, now again, Stephen
-
helping us, we now know that that was the gospel.
-
That the Ten Commandments is the gospel. So,
-
but we need to study Mount Sinai. That means,
-
what we normally see there, that we know I say,
-
and the Lord spoke to him, and the Lord spoke
-
to him. There is other beings there doing some
-
things that we need to keep, we need to study,
-
you understand? Because this is, you know, this
-
is one of the things that we just brush and leads
-
us to accord to God or to push the responsibility
-
of certain things, you understand, toward God.
-
while God knew nothing about it. Are we together?
-
So now we know that it was an angel who spoke
-
to Moses on Mount Sinai. And verse 53 tells us
-
that the law, the giving of the law, is by the
-
direction of angels. Now, let's look at that
-
word direction. Go to verse 53. Who have received
-
the law by the direction of angels. Now, what
-
is that word direction? Direction. It was translated
-
from the Greek word diatage. D -I -A T -A -G
-
-E D -I -A T -A -G -E The word is used incidentally
-
in only two places in the standard word direction.
-
Let's look at the other one. The first one is
-
at 53. Act 753. But the second one is in Romans
-
13. Romans 13. Verse 2. Romans 13. Verse 2. Therefore,
-
whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance
-
of God. That word ordinance. Ordinance. It means
-
the direction. It's a noun. The ordinance of
-
God. And those who resist will bring judgment
-
on themselves. To that word ordinance is the
-
word direction. So direction implies ordinance.
-
It implies disposition. It implies arrangement.
-
It implies arrangement. It also implies instrumentality.
-
That is, you can substitute it and say, through
-
the instrumentality of angels. Did you understand
-
what I'm trying to say? Yes. Through the instrumentality,
-
Or through the arrangements of angels. Through
-
the arrangement of angels. You see, I see some
-
of us are not writing. You can't learn like that.
-
You understand? You can't know God. The church
-
is a school. Understand that some of us, where
-
we are coming, It has been a challenge because
-
the church has not been ordered exactly the way
-
it's supposed to be. The church is a training
-
ground. So when you come, you come with seriousness.
-
We don't want that which was ordained to life
-
to produce death. Did you understand what I'm
-
trying to say? No, no, no, no. You know, there
-
are so many mistakes we are doing. It's because
-
we have not spent time to learn the Word. Our
-
attitude towards church needs to change if we
-
want to see a difference. Hallelujah. So we have
-
encouraged people to always come with a book.
-
Understand? With a Bible. Understand? That is
-
how... To learn. We are students of the word.
-
Amen. Now that word. Arrangement. Which was used
-
by Stephen. Was derived from another word. So
-
that means. That word was derived from another
-
word. That's to so. That's to so is a verb. In
-
a sense. D -I -A -T -O -S -S -O. D -I -A -T -O
-
-S -S -O. And this word, you know, sometimes
-
you can understand even more about the noun from
-
the verb. Do you understand what I'm trying to
-
say? Yes. So, if we go further to study this
-
arrangement, instrumentality, direction, you
-
understand? From the verb. And Paul used the
-
verb. Did you understand what I'm saying? Hallelujah.
-
Galatians chapter 3 verse 19. Let's go to how
-
Paul used the word. You understand? Galatians
-
3 verse 19. Now look at it. He said, what purpose
-
then does the law serve? He said, it was added.
-
It was added because of transgression. Till the
-
seed shall come to whom the promise was made.
-
And it was appointed. It was appointed through
-
the, through who? Angels by the what? Are we
-
together? That word appointed is a verb. That's
-
the soul, you understand, of what we saw Stephen
-
used. So, it is appointed. So that means this
-
death to sow implies to appoint. It implies to
-
command. It means to ordain. It means to give
-
order. It means to give responsibility to another.
-
So, The verb there, to sow, means to command,
-
to appoint, to ordain, to give order, or to give
-
responsibility to another. And there are a lot
-
of places where you can find that, particularly
-
the verb, it's not just only that. Let me call
-
those scriptures so that when you go back, you
-
just read them. You understand? Now, in Matthew
-
11, verse 1, the same diastole was used, but
-
in that you will see it commanding. That's how
-
it was put, commanding. Matthew 11, verse 1.
-
Luke 8. Luke 8. Verse 55. Luke 17. Now, this
-
one, from the next one, which is the Luke part,
-
you will see it as commanded. Commanded. Commanded.
-
So, this scripture is under commanded. This scripture
-
is used to show as commanded. Luke 8 .55. Luke
-
17 .9. And 10. Acts chapter 18 verse 2. Acts
-
chapter 23 verse 31. Acts 24 verse 23. 1 Corinthians
-
55. Luke 17, 9 and verse 10. Acts 18, 2. Acts
-
23, 31. Acts 24, 23. 1 Corinthians 9, 14. And
-
Titus 1, verse 5. As commanded. Now the next
-
And then it was also used to give orders. Like
-
give orders. Acts 20 verse 13. And 1 Corinthians
-
16 verse 1. Then it is also used as ordain. Ordain.
-
1 Corinthians 7 verse 17. 1 Corinthians 7 verse
-
17. And then it is also used as to set in order.
-
To set in order. 1 Corinthians 11 verse 34. Hallelujah.
-
Are we together? We are moving together. Good.
-
So Stephen now and Paul help us to understand
-
and they explain by the Spirit that the involvement
-
of angels on Mount Sinai was actually an order.
-
It was a sign. It was appointed by Moses. Are
-
we together? It was appointed by who? By Moses.
-
If we read that part 19, you understand. He said
-
that, and it was appointed through angels by
-
who? Oh, are we together? Are we together? He
-
said by the hand of who? By the hand of a mediator.
-
In the text of scripture, we only have two people.
-
One who was assigned by men and one who is the
-
plan of God. Christ the mediator and Moses the
-
man -made mediator. We're going to study that
-
to see how people appointed Moses the mediator.
-
So I want you to have it at the back of your
-
mind. When we are talking about that the law
-
was added, it's not just only the law that was
-
added, but mediation was also added. Because
-
that mediation of Moses was not the plan of God.
-
That Moses mediated between the people and God
-
was never the plan of God. It's a system of the
-
law. It was brought by unbelief and rejection
-
of the gospel. Are we together? So the word added
-
implies that it was not part of the promise.
-
So both the mediation of Moses as well as the
-
law were an addition. It was brought by Moses
-
through the instrumentality, through the disposition,
-
through angels. I know some people will say,
-
wait a minute. How did the angels get involved?
-
That's why we are taking time to study. And the
-
reason is that because there are some strange
-
things we have been seeing that we need to explain
-
where they are coming. You know there are some
-
people who have accorded all those things to
-
God. Are we together? Hallelujah. Amen. So there
-
would have been no need for the addition. Because
-
the promise was there. What did... Abraham and
-
the rest live without the law. Do you understand
-
what I'm saying? So, there came a generation
-
that are rebellious. You know, sir? And they
-
don't want to. They rejected what their fathers
-
have received. They are quick to say, Abraham
-
is our father. You know, sir? But they did not
-
follow the ways of Abraham. Are we together?
-
Hallelujah. Amen. You know, I challenged one
-
lady one day in the sand, the way she was dressed.
-
I said, where are you? She said, she's from Winner's
-
Chapel. I said, you are not from there. I said,
-
why? I said, because you are not following the
-
headman. Because I know momy faith in the son.
-
I don't see any attribute of her in you. So they
-
are like the Pharisee that will say, Abraham
-
is our father, but his ways they are not following.
-
Are we together? Amen. So they rejected it. So,
-
What do we do? Now, it is important that now
-
let's study something about this mediation. You
-
know, remember I said by the hand of a mediator.
-
Are we together? Let's go back to Exodus 20.
-
Exodus 20. Exodus. chapter 20. Look at verse
Exodus 20 chapter mention
-
18. He said, now Mount Sinai was completely in
-
smoke. Please, just be observing the events that
-
are happening. We are going to go slowly. You
-
understand? Now Mount Sinai was completely in
-
smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire.
-
Its smoke ascended like the smoke of the furnace
-
and the whole mountain quaked greatly. That's
-
how the Lord normally descends. Hallelujah. Verse
-
19. And when the blast of the trumpet sounded
-
long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke.
-
And God answered him by voice. He spoke and God
-
answered him how? By voice. Amen? Amen? Where
-
was I reading? 19, right? Oh, sorry. Did you?
-
Let's start from 19. I was just moving very fast.
-
Yes, chapter 19. Yes, chapter 19, please. Oh,
-
and you are looking at me. Yes, let's start from
-
there, chapter 19. Yes, I mentioned the scripture
-
ahead and then I started behind. Sorry for that.
-
Understand. Are we together? Now, did you see
-
those events? I want you to pay attention. We
-
are coming back to them. How they said the Lord
-
descended. Remember I said we're going to study
-
Mount Sinai. It's very important. Right? Now
-
move to verse 20 which I said earlier on. 20
-
verse what? 18. Now all the people witnessed
-
the thundering. Did you see again? Are we together?
-
Witnessed the what? The thundering. The lightning
-
flashes. The sound of the trumpet. And the mountain
-
smoking. When the people saw it, they did what?
-
They trembled and stood where? Afar. Then they
-
said to Moses, you speak with us and we will
-
hear. But let not God speak with us. Lest we
-
do what? Lest we do what? How can someone who
-
wants life for you and what you are perceiving
-
is that? So, you see, this is telling us, this
-
is where the beginning of they never wanted to
-
hear directly from God. Remember when Moses was
-
going, Moses also told a prophet like unto me,
-
he said, hear what? Hear him. They refused. Moses,
-
where Moses was going? He also told them, hear
-
him. They never wanted to hear from God. You
-
understand? I think we did that study in this
-
church. But the point is that they rejected God
-
and just wanted Moses. Go and hear and then tell
-
us. This is how they meet Moses the mediator.
-
So as we read, he said, appointed by angels by
-
the hand of a mediator. So Moses was a man -made
-
mediator through unbelief and rejection of the
-
gospel. Through unbelief and rejection of the
-
chapter 8. Hebrews chapter 8. Look at verse 7.
Hebrews 8 chapter mention
-
Verse 7. For if that first covenant had been
-
faultless, then no place would have been sought
-
for a second. Now, most people when they read
-
this, they would think that God gave first, the
-
first one. You understand? Do you understand
-
what I'm saying? So they said, that's how they
-
look at it, that the first covenant God gave
-
it, so it fails. They say, okay, let me bring
-
the second one. No, there has no time. God has
-
given multiple covenants. It has always been
-
one, one, one, and one. And the covenant, please
-
hold your hand here. Come to that Galatians we
-
read. There's something I want to point out before
-
we jump in the sun. Because we are at the time
-
where we need to wrap up something for this session.
-
Galatians 3 verse what? Verse 19. He said, what
-
purpose then does the law serve? He said, it
-
was added because of transgression till the seed
-
should come to whom the promise was made. To
-
whom the promise was made in the Son. Now, you
-
have to understand that the covenant is not with
-
you. Are we together? God made the covenant with
-
himself. We are the beneficiaries. Let me repeat
-
again. We are the beneficiaries of God's covenant.
-
The covenant is not with you. Because, you know,
-
when you talk about covenant, It means you have
-
a part to play. You don't, sir. Sorry. You don't
-
have a part in it. Because he promised it by
-
himself, to himself, to keep it by himself. We
-
are beneficiaries. We received it. What he has
-
promised. Hallelujah. Now go back to where I
-
was trying to read. He now said, verse 7, right?
-
For if that first covenant had been faultless,
-
then no place would have been sought for a second.
-
Because finding fault with them, he says, behold,
-
the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will
-
make a new covenant. With the house of Israel.
-
And the house of Jacob. Now look at that word
-
in verse 8. He said finding fault with them.
-
The question is. Who or what finds fault with
-
them? Are we together? Did you hear my question?
-
Who or what finds fault with them? Remember in
-
verse 7 he said. For if. The first covenant had
-
been faultless. That means the first covenant
-
has a fault. There will not have been need for
-
the second because the second is faultless. So
-
what this verse is saying is that the faulted
-
or fault covenant was the one that find fault.
-
You understand? That's why I say because finding
-
fault. Who finds fault? The covenant that has
-
fault was the one that had fault in them. Because
-
God does not find fault. The covenant of righteousness
-
does not find fault in men. Did you understand
-
what I'm trying to say? No fault. And there are
-
scriptures that tell us more about that God does
-
not find fault. He does not find. You understand?
-
James told us. Right? James 1, verse 5. Right?
-
Are we together? Please, come with me. I want
-
to show you that God's covenant of righteousness
-
does not do what? Does not find fault. It is
-
the fault covenant. That old system brought by
-
unbelief that find fault. You know, sir, Remember
-
what we said, Paul said in the psalm. I would
-
not have known. Did you understand what I'm saying?
-
Except the Lord came. When the Lord came, that
-
was when sin revived. Meaning, that was when
-
I became aware of sin. That was when I became
-
aware of sin. Oh, glory to God. Look at verse
-
5. He said, If any of you lack wisdom, let him
-
ask God. Who give how? Liberally. Without what?
-
Without reproach. That word reproach. Without
-
shame. Eh? Without shame. Without abuse. Without
-
shaming you. Huh? There's one song, you see.
-
Oh, God, no, go shame us. You know that song?
-
You know, these people are laughing. Yes. God
-
does not shame. Did you understand what I'm saying?
-
Yes. He doesn't insult. He doesn't abuse. He
-
does not defame. That's what reproach means.
-
Defame me. Reproach. He said he doesn't do that.
-
He gives liberally without looking for fault.
-
When he's trying to give you something, he will
-
not be looking and say, hey, okay, he did this
-
thing. No. You understand? We shall deal with
-
him. He did that. He did that. No, he doesn't
-
pile up to watch your iniquities. You understand?
-
To give. No, that's not God. Look at that text
-
we normally read. Hallelujah. 2 Corinthians.
-
2 Corinthians 5. 2 Corinthians 5, what? 19. Let
-
me read from verse 18. Now all things are of
-
God who has reconciled us to himself through
-
Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of
-
reconciliation. Look at verse 19. He said, that
-
is, That God was where? In Christ reconciling
-
the world to himself. Not doing what? Not imputing
-
their trespasses to them. And has committed unto
-
us the word of reconciliation. So God does not
-
do what? Does not impute. You understand? He
-
does not impute sin. Faults of man. No. But what
-
system does that? Romans 5. What system does
-
that? Romans 5. 13. Are we together? Amen. Romans
-
5. 13. For unto the law, sin, Was where? But
-
sin is not imputed when there is no... So during
-
the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you know,
-
sir, there was no imputation of sin. God relate
-
with men not finding fault. It was when the Lord
-
came in and piled up, say, you do this, you do
-
that, you do that, you do this, you do this,
-
you know, sir. So when that text, you know, sir,
-
in fact... Romans 3, when you move back a little
-
bit, Romans 3 .20, Romans 3 .20, it says, Therefore,
-
by the deeds of the law, no flesh will be justified
-
in its sight. For by the law is the what? Is
-
the knowledge of sin. You cannot live by the
-
law not to be, you must be beholding your sins
-
and iniquities every day. That is that law. That
-
is that covenant. That was why that verse we
-
read in Hebrews says what? Finding fault with
-
them. You understand? That is the covenant. That
-
is a system that finds faults. You understand?
-
This new system is the one that takes away the
-
fault of men. Are we together? He's the one that
-
takes away the iniquity. The Lord laid upon him
-
the iniquities of us all. You understand? Hallelujah.
-
So God's intention is not to have anyone as a
-
mediator between God and man. But for he himself
-
to come. For Jesus himself to be the mediator.
-
The mediator of better covenant and not Moses.
-
So both the law and the mediation of Moses were
-
an addition. Where is an old system. So God revealed
-
his plan. Lively oracles. But to a rebellious
-
people. He rejected it. And what happened? Moses
-
gave the law. How? By the instrumentality of
-
angels. We're going to further look at that to
-
study much more. You understand? Study much more
-
to see other texts that talks about also because
-
we're going to read other texts. Now we just
-
studied Stephen and Paul. We're going to study
-
others to see how the law was given to the instrumentality
-
of angels. Now you should begin to picture. Does
-
that mean that means those things we've been
-
seeing, angels were the ones doing those things?
-
We shall see. Hallelujah. Can you just pray and
-
thank the Lord? We appreciate you being here
-
today. We hope you carry this word with you throughout

your week. Don't forget to check the show notes
